bones delivers crew gossip to bridge crew each week to keep them all sane. this one week he keeps hearing a certain rumor about jim and he decides to deliver gossip that day. jim’s like “i love crew gossip cause it’s always so dumb and untrue but absurd and fucking hilarious” at the end of bones’ report he goes “oh yes i almost forgot according to the crew,, our very own captain james tiberius kirk is irrevocably, desperately, furiously, deeply, absolutely, no question about it, madly in love with his first officer” and jim goes “well fuck nvm” and bridge crew goes fucking crazy (also spock isn’t there because plot). this results in bridge crew trying to get jim and spock tg while spock has no fucking clue wtf is going on

My brain, @ 3 in the morning: Think about Tom Paris in that uniform t-shirt, sweaty and being held up by Harry and/or the Doctor. Think about him looking clearly ill/unwell because he'd been hooked into some kind of alien machine in order to pilot an advanced ship in a war/battle. Think of a bunch of the main crew going to that ship and rescuing him, only to be trapped there - with their only way back being to use that same highly advanced alien ship to fly back, and to protect Voyager from the oncoming alien fleet. Think about Tom offering himself up and hooking back in so he can pilot the ship, even though it was slowly killing him. Think about how painful it is every time the ship takes damage or something breaks - how circuits blowing leave him with burns and other injuries where wires and machine parts are attached to him (neck, spine, temple, arms, maybe legs). Think about the Doctor fretting nearby, taking readings as Tom's condition quickly deteriorates, blood dripping from his nose and breaking into a high fever from the strain of the neural link. Think about the moment that Voyager is safe andJaneway screaming to shut it all down so they can get Tom free. Think about Tom collapsing as soon as he's unhooked from the machine, having to be beamed over to Sickbay while Harry and B'Elanna can only sit and wait for the Doctor to hopefully fix him up again.
Me, trying to sleep @ 3 in the morning: um... is there an actual story or plot to go along with this plethora of whump material?
My brain:
My brain: no

Alice is an episode where you can tell they had absolutely no idea what they were doing with Tom at this point. his character kinda ran his course, so then they put him with B'Elanna, but then they got together and they clearly had no idea where to go from there, so he hasn't been around all that much, and then they decided to do an episode about him and they went "what does Tom like? cars? ships? what if he had a toxic relationship with a mommy domme personification of a ship" and then they wrote it and filmed it

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Julian Bashir/Elim Garak Characters: Julian Bashir, Elim Garak, Mila Garak Additional Tags: Established Relationship, Post-Canon Cardassia (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Banter, complicated parent and child relationships, Post-Story: A Stitch in Time - Andrew Robinson, Or at least ASIT compliant!, Mila called to say it’s her turn to haunt the narrative Summary:
“I’ve run every test I could think of, and all that has told me is that it really does seem to be just, well. A box.”
“A ‘just a box’ hidden away in the walls of Enabran Tain’s house,” Garak pointed out, with what was probably, in this case, entirely warranted paranoia. “So let us proceed with caution, nevertheless.”
“Hey, you’ll find no argument from me there,” Julian said, holding his hands up to signal his lack of protest. “If my time on DS9 proved anything to me, it’s that curiosity can do way weirder things to a cat than kill it.”
Garak and Julian make an unexpected discovery among the ruins of Enabran Tain’s house.

Big thanks to @circeladyofaeaea for providing me with the name and description of the Mogrund in A Stitch in Time, when I had despaired of finding it again myself! Truly it takes a village to write some gay little fanfiction and I'm very grateful for that village haha ❤️

Okay hear me out:
a Michael x Rayner AU inspired by the VOY ep. "Workforce"!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the hunt for the Progenitor technology, the Discovery falls into another trap set up by Moll and L'ak where they use a device that messes with people's memories.
Michael and Rayner get abducted and end up at a salvage yard controlled by the Emerald Chain with false memories implanted into their heads (like the Voyager crew in the episode). Despite not remembering each other, they feel attracted to each other and start to hook up.
When the Discovery rescues them eventually and they regain their real memories, things are tense and awkward between them on the bridge because of what happened between them and even more because the feelings they have developed for each other just won’t go away again...
Oh, all the delicious unresolved tension with them trying to act professional and pretend it didn't mean anything and will certainly not happen again 😏

People often say, "even if it's not hostile, we should drop a nuke on it just to be sure."
The thing is, something that big, the question you need to be asking is, "what happens if the nuke doesn't kill it? What happens if all the nukes don't kill it?"

“ Humans are not telepathic, it is common knowledge.” the Vulcan scientist thought to themselves. “ They are an adventurous species though.”
Which is why the Vulcan was curious why they were denied exploration to the deepest parts of Earth’s oceans,no submarine or crew. There was still so much unknown about that part of the planet. Curious.
Humans are not telepathic but when the Vulcan began to protest the scientific necessity to explore every human in the room spoke simply but firmly at once “ We don’t go that deep in the ocean.”

Just learned that Leonard nimoy incorporated Jewish culture and Judaism into Spock and Vulcan culture and now I'm sitting like
"Oh fuck now I need to read Tora from cover to cover to write some silly spirk porn"

Honestly waited my whole life to have queer star trek instead of just queercoded star trek, and they came out with a completely straight and cis star trek mainly reenacting old episode ideas????????????
Fucking. Disappointment.

So, I've held onto this Trek story idea since my teens. Over the years I've made several attempts to draw or write it but I've never managed to make anything of it. Figure I might as well get it out of my brain and post it here.
It starts with haunting of a Borg cube. They assimilate a race we've never seen before. There are no words. Only the internal workings of a cube. Monochrome. Dirty. This race is marched to the assimilation areas. A drone notices an individual among them, but resumes its duties. Later the drone sees the same individual wandering the cube, unattended. The drone tries to pursue them, but its a dead end. Suddenly the drone is sucked out an airlock... by another drone.
This drone is captured and dissected assuming it's malfunctioning. Its severed head is still blinking while they scan its memory but find nothing. The assimilation of the unknown species continues. Soon, another "mishap." A drone is pushed into a plasma stream. Another is thrown from a catwalk. Another is ripped apart. More drones are brought in and disassembled, but still nothing. More and more drones are lost until, from the outside of the cube, the lights die out.

I love looking at people canon x oc stuff bc I love seeing the vibes in a characters fan base and people’s creativity and shit.
But also y’all are cowards I don’t wanna read 80 million data/spock x human female ocs. Self inserts are valid and a tried and true tradition but c’mon let’s mix it up a bit. I would kill to see shit like spock x a vulcan but Nonstandard Vulcan or data x a cyborg.
It’s just an interesting idea to think of say, spock meeting and growing close with a vulcan who’s come from a different background who’s say, from a sect that interprets surak’s teachings or wasn’t raised by vulcans at all (but NOT raised by normie ass humans. I’ll allow humans but only if they’re deeply weird someway) They debate about it and how to Vulcan Right etc. like I’d love to see him with a full blooded vulcan who isn’t weird about his being half-human but gets into shit with him that truly only vulcans could ever care about.
And data!!!! With someone!!!!! Who’s so cyberneticly and maybe genetically altered that it makes others uncomfortable!!!! and is not as human looking as he is. Like their head is Human but their body is Cyborg Stuff like Cyborg or Alita and they have to work harder in some ways to pass bc like… at least data’s got skin. But just that interesting opportunity for community and understanding from two people who go to engineering when hurt and not sickbay.

So I'm playing Fallout 4 and I know I've said it once before but I'm going to say it again. Star Trek Fallout Au.
While playing I kept thinking about who would be a vault dweller and I always come up with the same idea.
Bones comes from the vault.
He could have been a military doctor and soaked up medical knowledge like a sponge and he's quick to fix someone with nothing. He goes into the vault with Joanna (cause he jas her when the 💣 drops) and she gets taken away. So Bones goes after her and along the way, he meets the Enterprise crew. (Cryosleep?)
Jim: the Survivor/Leader
Spock: the half-mutant. His mother was a vault dweller and met his father.
Scotty: Inventor/Engineer he keeps the compound going and the lights on.
Chekov: the smart refugee who wants to help in any way he can
Uhura: Runs the radio and keeps communications going
Sulu: Dreams of flying but can't. He has a wicked green thumb.
🤷🏻‍♀️
What do you giys think? Could this be a thing?
