Billie and Seve’s Adventures in Love and Friendship.
By request, my series featuring Billie Bust Up and Corn Kidz 64, Billie and Seve’s Adventures in Love and Friendship. This ongoing series follows Billie, Seve, and their friends and family as they contend with the evil demon menace Vadrigar, and as they form relationships that strengthen their bonds. This series is updated roughly every week or two, depending on how long it takes me to get out a one-shot or a chapter. The point is, it’s consistently getting worked on and I aim to finish it eventually. I will repost when the series is finished as well. Take this an an AU, and none of the characterizations or liberties within seriously. I just wanted to have fun and make beautiful stories for everyone to enjoy. Thank you.

i’m honestly baffled that reed’s main ship in the fandom is with trip. like i get it, they spend the most time together so there’s ample opportunity to read into their interactions, but if we’re talking the text of their relationship, our boy malcolm had an enemies to lovers arc onscreen and people will like, mention it but not actually commit to reed/hayes which is a goddamn shame. i’m disappointed with all of you

“Many Towns Voting Today,” Border Cities Star. December 5, 1932. Page 7. ---- Three in Mayoralty Races In Ottawa And Woodstock --- TORONTO, Dec. 5. - Residents of numerous cities, towns and villages and townships of Ontario go to the polls today to elect new municipal councils for the year 1933. Lower taxes, rigid economy and balanced budgets have been popular planks, upon which the multitude of candidates have appealed to the electorate. The exceptionally large number of nominees this year has created unusual interest and new marks in polling are expected to be registered.
In the majority of the larger cities the mayoralty contest has been waged between two aspirants. Ottawa, Windsor and Woodstock have three seeking the chief magistrate's chair. Hamilton, Chatham, Kingston, Kitchener, Galt and St. Thomas will see the vote divided among two for this honor.
Brockville, believing that money that might be spent on elections could be better used for unemployment relief, returned the entire municipal slate by acclamation with Fred Wolthausen as mayor. Stratford has accorded C. I. Graff another term as mayor by acclamation.

Sebastopol Housing Project Faces Setback: Council Withdraws Support
by Jeremy Hay, Press Democrat, Originally Published April 14, 2024 A housing project planned in Sebastopol for people with extremely low or no incomes, including those who are homeless, was dealt a perhaps fatal setback after the City Council withdrew its support, citing concerns the city would be responsible for completing it or operating it if its nonprofit developer couldn’t. “I’m in no mood…

St George’s Day
Tumblr media
St George and the Dragon by Raphael (1505). Source: Wikipedia
Today is St George’s Day. All that is known about George with any certainty is that he died on this day in Lydda in third century Palestine. He was rumoured to have quit the Roman army in order to practice his Christian religion and then travelled to Asia Minor where he came across a kingdom terrorised by a dragon who was demanding a regular feast of humans in return for not devastating the land. The victims were chosen by lot and eventually the king’s daughter herself was selected to be the dragon’s next meal. George rode to the damsel’s rescue and mortally wounded the beast with his lance but did not finish the creature off until George had extracted a promise from the king and his people to convert to Christianity. This clear fairy story made George a somewhat problematic saint which the church never took entirely seriously and it dispensed with him altogether in 1969. However during the Crusades, George became adopted by Richard I as patron saint of God’s soldiers and made his way with the returning Crusaders to England, becoming so popular that in the fourteenth century, Edward III made him England’s patron saint.
George soon replaced various spring pagan deities (the dragon being a symbol of winter) and began to feature in Christmas and Easter mumming plays as a killed-and-resurrected character. The dragon at least features on the 23rd during Norwich’s Mayor’s Day, as Snap, a decidedly pagan hobby-horse manifestation, leading the Mayor’s procession but being refused entry to the church. Snap would then wait on the so-called Dragon’s Stone for the duration of the service, menacing passers-by with his snapping wooden jaws. He liked to steal headwear, and lunged at schoolchildren who ducked and shouted ‘Snap, Snap! Steal a boy’s cap!’. The original pageant is no more, but a Snap costume, dating to the fifteenth century resides in Norwich’s Castle Museum and the procession itself has now transferred to July.
