It's so nice to see Sousuke open up to Mukai like that! Especially as Mukai is someone Sousuke feels comfortable with because he respects his boundaries. So the fact that Sousuke still decides to open up to him is not insignificant.

It's indicative of his evolution, as he no longer hesitates to show himself vulnerable, but also of his desire to get closer to his friends and no longer be cold to them. ❤️

And what represents Sousuke's evolution the most is when he asks his mother to come to this year's festival!

It must have taken so much effort. He who previously hadn't even told his mother about his high school's festival. And he didn't want his mother to be involved in anything. Sousuke is finally ready to take his first steps forward It warms my heart so much I can't wait to see what happens during the festival arc! 💛

It's good to see that Mitsumi sometimes allows herself to go against the rules! We can see that she's uncomfortable, but we also sense that she was aware of the risk. And if she took this risk, it's undoubtedly because her friendship with the girls is precious to her.

Is it fair to say that Mitsumi has grown? Personally, I'd say yes, if you remember when she was imagining things when Sousuke didn't come to class for 1 day.

Mitsumi and Sousuke both saying that their date was nothing special, surely out of consideration for the other and surely also to avoid raising false hope. It's for reasons like these that they suit each other so well 💛

shima wants people to fall for his "facade" soooo badly in hopes he then won't ever have to worry about Opening Up or people seeing the parts of him he deems to be "ugly" (aka being a normal human being with wants and needs like anyone else) but when faced with someone as genuine and true to themselves & their feelings as mitsumi, someone who never once saw his kindness as a front- simply bc she doesn't think about things like that, i feel like shima is finally beginning to realize that the mask may in fact just have been a reflection of the wearer all along, or at least he's getting there. you are not a wretched monster, boy!! you just have trauma!!! -- get loved unconditionally, idiot!!
