Scrappy comic I did on the bleed pages of my sketchbook. I did this in August 2021 so some parts of it give me The Cringe (tm) but overall I am proud I made it so I'm forcing myself to post it

Plant of the Day
Saturday 26 November 2022
In a sunny, sheltered front garden in Deal, Kent, UK, a selection of tender perennial create a distinctive display. The range of foliage plants includes Plectranthus argentatus (silver spurflower) a spreading evergreen sub-shrub with densely hairy, silvery stems and grey-green leaves with small tubular bluish-white flowers. A great show.

Note
1, 9, and 28 from the ask game!
1. Oh dang, it's a shame I only got to answer this ask now, because I don't remember much of the dream anymore. I only know it was a dream I had after I briefly woke up, when I fell asleep again. And I had a dream where I thought I was awake, that I got out of bed and did some stuff. I only remember that I was given a new laptop and also that there was my brother and that also something stressful happened. And then I woke up and realized that I did not actually get up from my bed and instead I fell asleep and it was all a dream.
9. Okay I'm actually getting embarrased that I don't really have an answer to this either... maybe the scent of my bed linen when it's freshly washed... or the smell of silver spurflower tha my mom puts in almost every room 😄
28. Again, I could say a lot of books. But it I had to choose one it would be Chronicles of Narnia - The lion, the witch and the wardrobe. (Or perhaps Horse and his boy). I love these two and they're pleasant to read.
Thank you for the ask. 😊

Speckled spur flower, a species of
Spurflowers
Also known as:
• Candlestick plant
• Blue spur flower
• Indian borage
•Wild sage
Botanical name: Plectranthus ciliatus
The speckled spur flower is a herbaceous plant native to Africa. It was introduced in Australia as an ornamental and is now known as a weed in the area. The leaves have glands with a pungent smell. The plant is considered a runner, meaning it can spread by growing the stems in the ground and forming new roots.

Do you sing and/or talk to your plants?🌿✨ • • Working at a flower shop, I find myself giving compliments and encouraging words to the flowers and plants we have on display. My honey’s plants get my country twang and more music-related love- except for Chad upstairs. He loves his dad’s cool, smooth compliments. • • Chad is a hearty, bright green Golden Pathos. He really stood out to us when we were looking for new pots. He gives off a Frat-Boy energy, and he soaks up “lookin’ good, Chad!” like he soaks up water. I’ll introduce him soon. • • • • #fashion #fashionista #fashiondaily #life #lifestyle #lifestylephotography #lifestyleblogger #fashionblogger #neutral #trendy #minimal #minimalism #style #styleblogger #seattleblogger #digitalmarketing #socialmediamarketing #plants #goldenpathos #spurflower #carnations #mint #africanmint #plantlife #plantlove #plantcare https://www.instagram.com/p/BtRZcONhFY5/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=s70eeyg5unks

“These waters are me, and I am them. I am the lands that rise from them, I am the trees that bind them, I am the beasts that keep them...” -Melora, The Wildmother, aka Wild Mom
@melora pls save the lads because my stress levels can’t handle this anymore.
Art by mischief-and-maryment, September 2019
Cute details about the symbolism below:
Melora’s Halo is based roughly from descriptions given of her symbol, however just for Flavour™ I used native Australian florals because they’re a lil funky looking and surprisingly easier to draw than European wildflowers (that being said they’re a bitch to botanically identify in an exam bc they’re weird). The flowers included are Bottlebrush, Golden Wattle, Waxflower, Silver spurflower, Aussie Box Westringia, and Yellow Kangaroo Paw.
Her bouquet is made up of wildflowers as a nod to Yasha (SHE BETTER BE SAFE OR I’M RIOTING), she also carries some wheat because I was super proud of that wheat I drew for my soil science project last year. She is also goddess of good harvest and who doesn’t love bread.
Melora’s staff is decorated with Sampaguita (Jasmine sambac) along the base. A piece of coral and seaweed is tied with a blue ribbon that slowly fades into the deeper colours of the ocean.
Melora’s cape is decorated with pearls and is the colour of sea-foam, like her staff also linking to her role as protectoress of the sea. I was also fairly inspired by the SS2020 collection Rodarte dropped the other day which featured quite a lot of pearls on tulle (AND TULLE GLOVES THATS SUPER COOL).
I’m an Australian and spelling mum as mom made my eye twitch :’(

Ashes Ashes by Tigrette-of-fire
Day 13: Ash (Late)
Hey everyone, sorry for the disappearing act and for the piece. A combination of midterms, travel, and lack of access to a scanner during said travel means I'm posting this eight whole days late. Yikes. Unfortunately, that might be the trend for the rest of this Inktober - bar my piece for "Coat" (Day 27), the last prompt I'm really planning to do and which I'm really hoping to get done on time - as my piece for "Overgrown" (Day 14) isn't even out of the pencil sketch stage. I also had an idea for Day 12's Dragon, but I wasn't even able to start that one (need bigger sketch paper than I currently have for that) - though that one at least, unlike Day 14's Overgrown, won't be weird at all to do outside of Inktober or even October. TL;DR: there will be more art, but I can't do it on schedule/it might not be able to technically be a part of Inktober
Anyways, you know how there's that whole urban legend about how "Ring Around the Rosie" is about the black plague? That's what I went with for this prompt. Also, full disclosure, I'm pretty sure wikipedia was talking about camphor tree leaves and not camphor spurflower when talking about what plague doctor's stuffed their masks with, but...this looks cooler. Art © Me
[Description: A plague doctor is pictured from the mid back up from behind, looking over their shoulder. They're wearing a black coat, black collar, and an over-large black hat. Their cowl is shaded, but not solid black like the rest of the piece. Their mask is white, featuring stitching, a metal rim to the goggles with rivets, and a metal mask-beak tip. Below them is a flower from the genus Rosa, mint leaves, camphor spurflower leaves, and juniper berries + sprigs. All plants are done in black and white]

Autumn festival time in gryphon land! Everyone takes some time to eat food and hang out with loved ones. Except Scallion. They're just hanging out with their primary feathers, that are finally moulting back in

A notice after a long silence. Within my project, I had found myself go down a spiral of ambitious, over-complicated ideas that did not have any heart or deeper meaning to them. I was blind to the fact that I had created a mess in absence of an actual response to the park. I understood how much I wanted to replicate or design something around the Spurflower located in the flowerbed but didn’t understand what it was I actually liked of it.
After a talk with Emily, she provided me with a clarity. I went back to the drawing board trying to break down the bare basics of what it is I was fascinated with about these flowers. I have attached my thought process below along with my brainstorm of different ideas and focusing on trying to transcribe thoughts into words and realised it was the ‘self supporting/structure’ of the spur flower that I was fascinated by as it looks like a sold foundation for support. Coming back to the job of a pillow. There are other inspirations I have found across the internet of examples of ‘cushions’ that work with self supporting.
I have attached a small mockup of my vision and will submit my next update on this blog once I have spoken to the 3D lab in terms of sourcing materials and the next step to go from here.

Plant of the Day
Saturday 2 September 2017
The beautiful hairy silver leaves of Plectranthus argentatus 'Silver Shield' (silver spurflower) form an excellent plant association with the pink Dahlia and delicate foliage of the dark pink Cosmos. Plectranthus is a spreading tender perennial in the U.K. and here forms a edging to this late summer display. Though the foliage is the major feature another show is created by small tubular bluish-white flowers.
