Imagining Orym reassessing the Wildmother in particular. I don't feel like her wildness would shock him, but her so clearly missing the spouse who should be fighting alongside her and yet getting on with it anyway will increase his sympathy for her, and impact his understanding of her outreaches to him.
Also imagining Essek trying to explain what he saw of Melora to Caduceus and Fjord. Fjord getting nearly as flummoxed as Essek is in the retelling, until Cad just soothingly says something like, "Yeah, she's great." Fjord and Essek aren't sure why, but find themselves both calmed and more appreciative of the Wildmother anyway.

kinda love how Nick and Taliesin are playing their characters and reminding us that Pelor is not just "Don't fucking look into the sun or you'll blind yourself" and droughts and stuff, he's also the thing that warms the earth and the thing that reminds people to keep going and daylight after a long moonless night
and Melora is not just the thing that saved Fjord and makes trees grow and is loving and kind, she's also the kind of ocean that breaks boats and she is quicksand and poison ivy and natural selection and she does not (usually) pick favorites because nature waits for no one

Very funny to me that the gods will *not* smite any of the Hells for knowing how they brought down Aeor, but the Wildmother *will* knock the shit out of Chetney for trying to stick his wood chisel in her magic tree.

Melora: My siblings have an obsession with the humanoids and it’s really weirding me out.
Also Melora: Where’s my favorite halfling? Where’s my bestest boy? There he is! Here’s a treat.

So I saw someone talking about how Tal is playing Melora and it got me thinking. I posted a smaller version of this on Twitter but wanted to expand on it here.
The person mentioned how Tal's portrayal of her is weird to them because Melora has been shown to us as being a comforting breeze on the wind and a warm mother's hug (especially in Campaign 2) and so viewed her as such. And while nature has also been described as the cycle of life and death and has its times of decay and destruction, it is ultimately portrayed as a mostly positive force. So to see Tal's portrayal be so gangly and dark and eccentrically wild is a little surprising at first.
However! The world has been wracked by the Calamity. The sun seems to be blocked out and people and animals alike have died as the gods war around them. Calamity has brought destruction on Exandria, its people and its lands, and that includes nature.
Taliesin is simply portraying the Wild Mother as a reflection of what nature has had to become in these dire times.
