Izzy and Lucius... You can guess where this is going, right?

Yes, exactly there. Sprizzy was my first ship for Izzy, how could it not be after that scene? (I soon turned to Ouizzy, right before going down badly for Steddyhands and staying there for the whole in-between-seasons time).

I liked Lucius so much during s1 and Izzy almost nothing at all, but I still could see the potential, if Izzy would have managed to relax a bit. I think so many bad things would have been avoided if Lucius had kept him *ahem* entertained somehow. Truly a missed chance.

And in s2 it was nice to see them briefly bonding after their traumatic experiences (everything was brief in s2, damn episode cuts!). I know Lucius understood better (unfortunately) Izzy's bitter and angry side and I know Izzy cared about Lucius (and the rest of the crew) and allowed himself to show it sometimes.

I wish we could have seen more of their dynamic on the ship as a crew-family. They would have loved to bitch about stuff together so much (and would probably have flirted hard, much to Pete's amusement).

Also, I can't finish this without mentioning that I would have paid SO MUCH money to see 'Live Lucius Reaction' to this scene. He was in the background in so many scenes in s1 and then in this he was missing? Heartbreaking. Really, we were robbed.

one of the many things that keep me awake at night re: ofmd S2 is that us Izzy people have long argued that his hostility towards Lucius in s1 could be very much read as "your softness has no place in a world like this, you're going to get in serious trouble if you don't change, on any other ship you'd be fucked, I've learned this the hard way why are you being so stupid" and back in S1 none of us expected that to actually become a plot point and then S2 came around and slapped us over the head with "the second Lucius leaves the Revenge he goes through absolute trauma city and when he rejoins the crew, he is bitter and angry and hardened just like Izzy was in S1" and... like... I just want to lock them in a room and make them talk through their trauma ok

I love ofmd for showing us that everyone is loveable no matter what they look like.

The cast of ofmd aren't conventionally attractive (although we still crave them carnally) and the crew all come in different shapes and sizes.

But every single one of them are loved by someone and choose to love each other.

The only reason Lucius survives when Edward throws him off the Revenge is the selkies who pull him back to the surface of the water and give him time to breathe. They bring him back to the ship with one piece of information: one of ours is on board. Living in the passageways hidden in the walls, Lucius has to find out who it is; who's been a creature of legend hiding in plain site the whole time and, more importantly, what they have to do with his survival.

I read this thing this morning.

Like WHAT IF IT HAPPENS?!?!?!?!.!.

I have a concept for a OFMD fic that I want to write but I need to enthuse about it here bc its making me laugh so much and no one else understands me.

So some kinda modern au where they all end up at a karaoke bar and for some reason my batshit brain decided that Izzy would sing this (don't fucking ask me why, I actually don't even know)

And Frenchie and Wee John would be there with backing vocals and spashing water around at the key changes all dramatic like - buttons would be there with a fan and a smoke machine and there would be lasers and Ed would be poo pooing it bc he can do Celine better (ofc) and Stede would be crying bc who wouldn't and the swede would look aghast bc his phantom of the opera has been massively surpassed - Jim would be puking in a bucket or smth i dunno

And he'd be singing it to Lucius or someone (no actually yes just Lucius) because I'm a raging sprizzy shipper okay and it would be just *chefs kiss* and and and

ahhh I have such a good idea for a secret reverse sugar baby modern AU. it's sprizzy in my head but I think you could substitute other Izzy ships with only minor changes to details.

So basically the premise is that Ed left and took with him half the income that was propping up Izzy's tight budget. now that Izzy has to cover rent and bills in full instead of just half, he is struggling financially. He really can’t afford to live, honestly. But he's a proud man so he tries to hide it. Tries to tough it out and make it work.

But Lucius (or whoever you fancy) notices and tries to help without making it obvious he is helping because Izzy probably won’t accept help, especially from Lucius, off all people.

Lucius, trying to be subtle, starts:

-timing his smoke breaks so he can run into Izzy and annoy Izzy into ‘stealing’ the cigarette right out of Lucius’s mouth. because Izzy won’t ask to bum one, and helping izzy hands avoid nicotine withdrawal is basically a public service. Lucius is a hero for that.

-“ugh, I told them no pickles! Here, eat this stupid sandwich, I don’t want it anymore, I loathe pickles!” (Lucius likes pickles just fine) or getting ‘just sooooo full’ from drinking elaborate iced coffees that he can’t possibly finish more than half of his lunch and he doesn’t want to waste food but he’s going out straight after work and won’t be able to bring it home to put in the fridge for tomorrow and really you may as well eat it, Izzy, or it’s just going to sit in the trash bin stinking up the whole place.

-asking Izzy to walk him to the tube station after work ‘for safety’ but it’s really so Lucius can swipe an extra ride for Izzy on his transit card. sometimes when it’s cold and miserable enough to make Izzy ache Lucius will opt for cab or rideshare instead as soon as they hit the street, insisting it will be cheaper to split the ride. always drops Izzy off first, conveniently forgetting to split the fare

-buying izzy a cozy cashmere scarf and claiming that it was Buy One Get One Free when Lucius was scarf shopping for himself, but he didn’t see any other colors/patterns he liked and this one just screamed Izzy Hands. (And maybe a knit cap that Lucius claims he stole from the lost and found because it coordinates with the scarf so well)

-begging Izzy to come over and ‘fix’ something ‘broken’ at his place, conveniently near dinner time, just so Izzy can spend a few hours somewhere where the heat and lights aren’t turned way down low to save on utilities. Somewhere warm and bright, where the WiFi service hasn’t been turned off because of all the past due bills.

-constantly starting bets that Izzy can win. This backfires when Izzy starts to feel bad about taking Lucius’ money because he thinks Lucius is a typical starving artist type. Not knowing that Lucius makes $$$$ on furry art commissions and just doesn’t tell anyone about it because his friends, much as he loves them, have zero moderation and would cajole Lucius into partying all his savings away.

And all the while he is being sneakily generous, Lucius is trying to figure out how to trick Izzy into letting Lucius buy him a new winter wardrobe, treat him to lunch every day, and buy back the motorcycle Izzy had to pawn to pay off some debts Ed left when he blew town.

@carrymelikeimcute Stede is the one suffering the intervention after the divorce, because that man hasn't cleaned anything in his entire life. Lucius is the nice one but can't help being bitchy sometimes because come on. Izzy's #done.

sprizzy this is how you lose the time war adjacent AU-

It starts with Izzy leaving a letter at the Revenge's most recent battle- we'll never know if he specifically planned for Lucius to find it, or if it was just meant for any member of the crew, but it is Lucius who finds it amongst the wreckage. Written in blocky-but-precise print, he finds a note thanking them for joining the war:

"but then you turned up and our margins vanished. You invigorated my captain again, and in doing so, invigorated me"

Lucius, being Lucius, has to write back. He sends a letter in his best calligraphy, full of flirting and innuendos, with a healthy dose of mockery at the first mate for the defeat that'll have led him to finding this letter.

Izzy, being Izzy, cant let Lucius have the last word, can't let him win. Despite the danger of their communication- the best they can hope for if their captains find out is to be labelled a traitor, to be cut off from all they know- they can't stop themselves.

And now they have a correspondence. The letters shift from taunts to tales, a mutual hatred of The Republic and a discovery that their paths had crossed before-

Izzy saved Lucius as a child, though he didn't know it then. Just a young pickpocket stalking the streets, new to the game and unaware he was being tailed- but Izzy noticed. He tries not to get involved in others business, but he also can't let a child get hurt when he could have intervened, so he makes a move on Lucius' stalker, taking him out before he got a chance to do something himself (though not without being stabbed through the shoulder) leaving Lucius none the wiser-until now.

They fall in love through their writing, dedication and devotions, talk of tea and bouquets, and an end to this godforsaken war.

"Love spreads backwards through time. I am sure there was a time I did not love you, but it feels a ghost to me now"

It ends, eventually, as all things do. Izzy's interest is noticed by Lucius' side, how he seems to precede or follow him, and a decision is made, to take out the second in command of the enemy and bring their whole side to its knees.

The plan, to have Lucius show an interest in talking with Izzy, is laughable, if it were not for the stakes. Lucius makes the poisoned letter as clear as possible, he has to make sure Izzy knows the trap he's going to fall into, to never read this letter. Make it seem as though Izzy wasn't interested in him after all, and to never speak again, only seeing each other from across the battlefield.

Izzy understands the message, he would have to be blind not to. But what choice does he have? If he doesn't read it, then Lucius will have failed, and failure is unacceptable in this war. He can't have his actions cause Lucius harm- he can't think of anything worse.

So he opens it, signing his death, and sits down to write one last letter. Congratulations on a game well played, to Lucius for managing to slip under his armour and between his ribs to take him down.

It ends, as it starts, with a letter.

I've written a lot, most of it OFMD, so I'll try to keep it brief while also covering a few fandoms. I love almost everything I've written so this will be a challenge!

OFMD

Made of Gold (Modern AU Lupete, 16.6k, E) Listing this first because I truly think it's my fave fic I've written ever. Pete is a tow truck driver and Lucius's car breaks down in his tiny New Mexico town. It's very cozy and sweet despite having a major theme of poverty. I meant to write a sequel but didn't quite manage it. 😅

What Kind of Pirate Has a Friend? (canonverse Jack/Ed, 30.8k, E) The first chapter fic I actually set out to write as a chapter fic. It explores Jack and Ed as teenagers and the friendship that developed between them.

Beasts (canonverse Sprizzy, 6.8k, E) I wanted to try a specific narrative voice, and I feel like I achieved it. Extremely kinky, first in a series.

Ace of Hearts (canonverse Gentlebeard, 27.7k total, E) My ace Stede series. Comments on this series still break my heart. I never expected to have such an effect on people.

Pirate Ships (SMAU Sprizzy, 2.4k, M) Written entirely in skins of Tumblr and Discord. I learned CSS for this. It's so silly.

In Service to the Crown (canonverse Hornberry/Shaw, 25.2k, E) Started as crackfic, took on a life of its own. I'm still the only author in this tag. These are basically OCs at this point.

Good Omens

Your Smile in Mine (modern human AU ineffable husbands, 64.4k, E) The longest thing I've ever written. It's given me the confidence to write an original novel. Crowley and Az are teachers at a boarding school.

Physiology Lessons (canonverse ineffable husbands, 12.2k, E) A fun series that explores the idea that Crowley and Aziraphale have never had sex but they have experimented with mutual masturbation.

The Witcher

It Will Not Be Because of Me (canonverse Geraskier, 9.1k, E) I don't really know what it is about this fic, but I come back to it over and over. Angsty ending that I took some steps to fix in a sequel.

When That Time Comes (canonverse Geraskier, 4.1k, E) Made myself cry writing this fic about Geralt trading in Roach for a new horse when she gets old. Would probably still cry if I reread it.

Staged

Yes, And (rpf David/Michael, 18.2k, E) Cannot believe I'm putting rpf on this list. But truly, I had a lot of fun with this one. I meant to end it on the angsty first chapter but luckily for my readers a second chapter fell into my head, so it has a happy ending.

And that's the list! It's long, but I've written 87 fics and over 850k words, so it's a bit hard to narrow it down!
