Sheffield Wednesday, Gone by Friday?
Thai businessman and owner of EFL Championship club Sheffield Wednesday, Dejphon Chansiri, is causing quite a stir within the team and community. He has appealed to supporters to donate £2 million in order to prevent financial fines and a transfer restriction on the team.
To quote, “If 20,000 people gave £100, then it's £2 million, and it’s clear.”
Following this, in an interview with the Sheffield Star, Chansiri stated that staff and players might not receive payment as well due to the current hardship or “cash-flow issues”.
However, the Sheffield Wednesday owner has made fast enemies with the community, in an attempt to convince fans to donate, he declared “If you don’t want to save your club, then don’t call yourselves the owners and me the custodian”
Following an incident in the previous month, Chansiri took aim at Wednesday supporters, stating he was halting funding the team because of the unjust treatment he had gotten from the supporters, “I am not willing to inject more money while I am being treated unfairly by those fans.”
He defended himself saying the following, "You do not understand how important this club is to me and my family. I have been here nine years and it is a part of my life." This whole situation has caused severe unrest at the club.
As of now, the future of Sheffield Wednesday is up in the air. Debts are to be paid ideally by November 10th.
Do you think a resolution can be found in time?

A 50-year-old biological male professor from York University who identifies as a teenage girl, swam against 13-year-old girls at a Markham swim meet Friday.
The races in the Fall Classic swimming competition at the Markham Pan Am Centre are segregated by age and gender, where participants who are registered as a male or female with Swimming Canada appear in the relevant group on the registration forms at the event.

The media outlet received tips from concerned parents and David Menzies went to the Markham swim center Sunday to verify the claims on camera.
At first the swim competition organizer denied Wiseheart swam on Friday, until Menzies produced a copy of the Friday swim schedule listing the name.
“I don’t think that it happened. I’m the competition coordinator for this league. I do not recall a 50-year-old man swimming in here on the Friday, competing with little kids,” said the organizer.
He explained the participants are registered through Swim Ontario and Swimming Canada and as he looked at the paper he said, “Yes, my mistake — indeed there was actually someone swimming on that day, okay, however —”
“That would be Melody, right?” Menzies asked.
“Well, I don’t know exactly, because I wasn’t —”
“There’s no name on that list,” Menzies pressed.
“Yes, there is a name in here. That’s why I’m validating what [you] said you have is correct.”
He explained the sections were actually open to any age.
“Don’t get into it with me on age, because that’s all Swimming Canada,” he said.

Western Standard reached out to the swim competition's governing bodies for comment.
Swimming Canada confirmed that "all competitive swimmers are ultimately registered through us," but denied organizing the categories.
"However we do not organize/set age categories for individual local meets etc.," Swimming Canada told the Western Standard.
Swim Ontario did not respond by the time of publication.

i can't believe you saw your first f1 grand prix!!! what were your thoughts?? i only recently became an f1 girlie myself but it is so so much fun to me. how'd you get into it???
it was so much fun!! i know it's not like a lot happened during the race (literally how were the redbulls so ahead of everyone?? but also my friend told me they breached the budget cap and i was like 😲 drama in the house!!), but cars going zoom is still super entertaining to me. and as I said it's fascinating from an engineering standpoint too! I'm really in awe of all the technical skills in mechanics, thermodynamics, aerodynamics etc that come into play to make one of those beasts of a car. & I also liked how, despite the fact the pilot is alone in his car, there's still an element of team spirit because he's communicating back and forth with his engineers and stuff.
I wasn't totally f1 illiterate before because it's practically impossible to escape it in France, but I think the hype really took on a whole new dimension here recently for three reasons: a) the Formula One Netflix series, b) Charles Leclerc, and c) Alpine's rise in power. 90% of people I know started following F1 for either one of these reasons, but I have two friends in particular who are long-time fans and they invited me over specifically to watch the grand prix last night, so that's how that happened 💞 I'm definitely gonna be watching more!! especially Monaco because it's such a cultural moment in sport <3

The 2nd seed Celtics play the 3rd seed Sacramento Kings tomorrow. Robert Williams is also set to return tomorrow as well. This is huge news for the Celtics as he is a core to their rim protection and defense as a whole. This game is a must win for the Celtics if they want to hold on to the 2nd see or compete for the 1st seed.
