Maybe Iâm wildly misunderstanding what people who like the dark academia aesthetic are going for but I always thought the aesthetic was specifically about romanticizing those universities in England (or Europe in general) that were founded in like 1736 and the main building was originally a castle that belonged to the family that founded it or something like that. Obviously thatâs a very niche university environment but I never thought that fans of the aesthetic thought that every single university looks like that. My university was built in the 70s and looks like a small townâs airport so I understand the appeal of escapism in pretending that you go to university in a marble building that has a secret library or something. Iâm not criticizing your post btw I agree with you i guess I understood the purpose of the aesthetic wrong. I thought they just liked the old money aesthetic of those schools, not that they believed youâre not truly academic if your school doesnât look like an ancient university in Prague.
So, yes, that is where the term came from
my issue with it is that they don't seem to know any other term for aesthetics they happen to have seen in a fancy university, anymore and totally unrelated things get slapped with the "dark academia" label
Oxford doesn't look like that because that's an ~academia aesthetic~. it looks like that because those were popular architectural styles of whenever X building was constructed. you are going to see those styles in other places! that doesn't make like...an 18th century commercial building "dark academia!"
like I've seen the term applied in completely random and incomprehensible ways. a marble bust is Dark Academia? HOW? is it in a university? or is it in an art museum where people are there to look at it, not to study it? is it in Mr. Darcy's house, where that classification makes even less sense? why is it somehow Academia when no Academia is in evidence?
an Art Deco theatre lobby. no joke. saw that tagged "dark academia." it could not have been more clearly a theatre lobby. I asked OP why they called it that, and they said it was just "the vibe." academia is not a vibe!!!! the word has a definition and the definition has nothing to do with aesthetics!!!!
my favorite movie, Crimson Peak, gets slapped with the DA label a lot. because...I don't know; there are ghosts and books in the same building? the heroine is a writer, sure, but absolutely none of it takes place in an institution of public scholarship or higher learning. there's a publisher's office, a doctor's office, and a private library in a house (that doesn't even get used for its intended purpose beyond a single scene). that's it. it's a pretty standard Victwardian Gothic.
the term DOES have function as a fictional genre; it describes a story pretty well. what happens? Dark Stuff. where? Academia. okay, I'm intrigued. but for aesthetics? no meaning or use at all, IMO
so I know they're not saying that ALL universities look like that. they're somehow saying that EVERYTHING that looks like that is University. which annoys me
(I also think "old money aesthetic" is more TikTok brainrot. I work a lot of museum benefits with old money people. they dress in many different ways, very few of them like a Kennedy vacationing on the Cape in 1965. just say "preppy" if that's what you mean!)
(and as with Dark Academia, it leads to a lot of things that have nothing whatsoever to do with the oldness of one's money getting labeled that way. which is annoying.)

Why does the fandom acts like Charlastor/Radiobelle is the worst ship in existence?
(This post is going to be pro Charlastor and contains anti Radioapple if you have a problem with it please either stop reading or at least stay respectful)
This is something which annoys me for a long time because the hate this ship gets is so over exaggerated in my opinion.
I am not saying that you are not allowed to dislike or hate this ship because i am myself someone who dislikes a ship sometimes for the silliest reason. But every time i see "what is the worst Hazbin Hotel and why is it Charlastor" or anything similar to it, I just can't take it serious anymore
This is why I am making this post to argue against some points which people always make against Radiobelle
"Alastor and Charlie have a Father-Daughter bond"
I already made a post why I dislike this whole trope but i write it here again because some people think this is Canon despite Alastor just acting like her father to annoy Lucifer. Because we only see Alastor acting like this in Dad beats dad and never before or after this again and Vivziepop even said it.
"Shipping Charlie and Alastor is WLW erasure and Charlie is with Vaggie"
This seems to be one of the main reason people are against Radiobelle but i think that something like this shouldn't be a problem because 1. Charlie is canonically Bi and so there shouldn't be a problem shipping her with a man and 2. Just because something is shipped in Fanon doesn't mean that the Canon ship is no longer Canon. Chaggie is Canon and I am happy about it because I love this ship too.
"That ship would be Toxic"
I have bad news to tell people but let's face it almost all Alastor ships are somehow toxic except maybe Radiorose. Alastor is not a good person and he would manipulate probably every person he mainly gets ship it like Lucifer or Vox, so I find it stupid to complain about this with only Charlastor
"The Age gap between the two are too huge, Alastor is too old for her"
This always make me roll my eyes because 1. Both are adults so who cares and 2. Charlie is canonically older than Alastor. For me this is always fandoms confusing naivity with being Childish.
"Alastor is canonically Ace"
Ace people can have romantic relationship too but if you don't feel comfortable with shipping him with others I won't say anything against it, I just dislike it when it gets comments it under fan art of any ship posts
This last part is just my opinion but I can't help thinking that this ship would be much more popular and wouldn't get that much hate if Charlie were a man or Alastor a woman. Image this whole scene
but with a male Charlie or any other male character. The fandom would have gone crazy and say how Alastor tried to seduce Charlie or tag it with "toxic yaoi". I already saw this whole scene redraw with Lucifer instead of Charlie and it was posted as Radioapple. I even think that if Alastor would be a woman she would be called a ace lesbian because Alastor in Canon dislikes men.
(Here starts the main anti Radioapple part so be warned)
Like I said I saw a pair scene redraw with Lucifer instead of Charlie with scenes between Charlie and Alastor and they often got posted under Radioapple and the fans loved it, so I wonder that Maybe people actually see romantic undertones between Charlie and Alastor but they just dislike Radiobelle or maybe just M/F ships so they just take Lucifer and swap him with Charlie so that they can have a M/M version
This post got longer than expected ups.
This was mostly a post for me to vent because I see sometimes people saying Charlastor is as bad as V*angel and it drives me crazy. Radiobelle isn't everyone cups of tea and that is OK but sometimes I see someone write under Charlie/Alastor fanart "I am just going to image it is Radioapple" or that what I hate at most when somebody makes fanchildren of them and shippers of radioapple use them for their ship and it makes my blood boil because for me this so disrespectful to the artist who put time and work in them.

My American dream
âYouâre so Art Deco out on the floor, shining like gunmetal, cold and unsureâ
Bill Kaulitz x f!reader
Synopsis: Iâm in such a mood right now I just want to write everything that comes to mind. Basically, bill takes a liking to a teen singer that came from America to Germany
Tags: 18+, implied smut, Name is from America, Tom being Tom, kissing, bill is a tease but means well, making fun of American accents, language barrier (this is based before the members spoke fluent English), confusion, reader smokes weed
German in bold
English in italics
- it started with your tour manager saying you should consider going to another country to gain more popularity
- you believed it was a good idea and could benefit your career so you agreed, easy enough right?
- you were wrongâŚso so wrongđ
- Communication was ROUGH
- Your team had to rent out a whole car because talking with transportation workers was too difficult for everyone without a translator
- Your managers were definitely getting gray hairs because of you
- When the day of the interview came, your manager surprised you last minute saying you would be collaborating with a popular German band in the interview
- It was a good idea essentially
- Rising teen artists from two different countries hanging out would cause some attention
- But both parties couldnât even speak to each other so it was a wreck for everyone up until the interview finally started
- you rambled about how excited you were to your makeup artist and you swear he pressed down on your eye extra hard while applying the makeup just to get you to shut up
- When the interview started and you settled into your seat you took time to look at all 4 of the members
- You looked for who your manager had described as the main vocalist of the group and he easily caught your eye
- The same could be said about you
- Bill noticed when you walked out that your styles were similar and he was mesmerized
- you saw the way he was eyeing you up and down while the other band members were answering questions
- âheâs definitely judging me rnâ
- In a wayâŚbut he was just checking you out don't worry
- the interviewer decided you should all play a game of charades between languages and see who wins
- And with his luck he had gotten partnered up with you
- While you were so excited to be partnered up with another lead singer, he was shaking in his skinny jeansđ
- he was also very happy he just got a little nervous because he had to speak English which he wasnât completely confident in
- He sat with you on the cramped sofa and tried to introduce himself to you
- âI'm Bill, itâs nice to finally meet you! Iâve heard some of your songsâ
- You stared at him with the stupidest look of your face
- Bill:đ you:đ
- âOh I didnât know the game started alreadyâ
- It was so awkward for the first few minutes that the translator had to come help you guys out out of her own secondhand embarrassment
- But once you properly introduced yourselves you were able to âtalkâ with each other so easily
- the convos flowed so naturally between you two that fans started to get jealousđ¤
- half way through the game he was trying to help you understand a German word and saw you had gotten extremely close to him
- When he noticed he went dead silent and went as still as a statue, fans swore he turned into concrete and you were just 3 inches away from his face like-
- âWhyâd you stop? I almost had it.âšď¸â
- there was so many urges he was holding back on when he was near you
- was staring at your lips the whole time but played it off as learning the pronunciation of the word you were saying when you asked him
- everyone noticed how he was looking at you, and how he touched you even when there was no need
- You guys both had undeniable chemistry with one another
- the band teased bill on how quick he cozied up next to you during the game
- Tom dry humping the air and George pretending to make out with Gustav to embarrass Bill and heâs just there likeâŚ
- đ§âand thatâs why Iâm leavingâ
- He would go off to find you and complain abt how annoying they were as you both munched on some snacks until the break ended
- He would always giggle when you spoke and you thought he was making fun of you
- He kinda was in his mind but he mostly just loved the way you sounded and when you tried to speak German it made him all giddy for some reason
- couldnât contain himself around you he was always laughing at your jokes and smiling so hard when you talked to him and he himself didnât even know why
- wouldnât stop complimenting you because he loved how happy you got when he did
- always positioned himself so he was touching you in someway be it your thighs being smushed against his when sitting down or his arm slung over the sofa to play with you hair
- sat with you even after the game was over not caring how his band mates were snickering at him
- he loves your accent itâs his new favorite thing
- you always caught him staring into your soul while you were speaking with the interviewer (he doesnât know how mean he looks pls forgive him)
- fans got butterflies on how he would just randomly stare at you for a few minutes before looking back at whoever was talking
- Tom said you looked like a tomato the whole time and wouldnât stop making fun of you and bill had to smack some sense into him (literally) to get him to stop
- during the middle of the interview some random questions were asked and he saw how quick you got weirded out
- was annoyed the rest of the time, he was sitting there giving the interviewer the biggest stank eye ever while talking to you
- Heâs good at making ppl look stupid I just know it
- The interviewer would ask him something and heâd be like âIdk, what do you think?đâ
- his manager had to tell him to get his act together bc ppl were starting to noticeđ
- when the interview ended you made your way out to the balcony to relax before you had to leave to the hotel
- You didnât notice Bill had rushed off to follow you until you heard the emergency exit door being pushed open
- he looked around the small balcony until he spotted you
- His face lit up when he saw you đ to -> đ
- he waved as he jogged over to you
- he tried to apologize for the questions but it came out more in German than English but you understood
- You smiled and looked up at him with heavy eyes before puffing some smoke out of your nose and telling him it was âwhateverâ
- He was practically drooling over you he thought you looked so pretty
- the way your eyes looked with that lazy smile on your face was doing something for him
- But he just smiled like he understood what you said before grabbing the blunt from you and taking a drag
- He coughed
- so much
- it was nighttime and dark so he thought it was a cigarette and quickly found out it wasnât
- âyou, okay?â
- âJa! đâ (Heâs not okay)
- it was fine though you both laughed and made fun of the incident after
- he was basically caging you between the chain fence with his body (Iâm going crazy) without noticing
- When he finally did the blunt was dying down and you were gazing at the stars while he gazed down at you
- âI wanna kiss you so bad right nowâ
- you just stared at him with the sweetest smile heâs ever seen because you didnât understand what he was saying
- if you knew the things you did to him oh my god
- before you put out the joint you shot gunned some smoke into his lips and that seemed to finally pushed him over the edge
- when he kissed you he tried to be slow n soft but it escalated quickly bc he has no self control with you
- heâs a lightweight and was so out of it, eyes droopy and everything
- so noisy with it to, gasping into your lips the whole time when your fingers even slightly grazed his skin
- had his hands tangled in the fence and his knee pushed up inbetween your legs to rub against you
- rutting himself into your thigh while making out (dudeâs starved)
- since he was so much taller he was basically hunching over to reach you
- everywhere you touched all you could feel was him and it made you so dizzy
- whined into you neck the whole time, he couldnât get enough of you, wanted all his senses to be filled up with you
- âWant you, needâŚneed you. Need to feel all of youâ
âName please- need you now, please Iâll be goodâ
- makes his brain all fuzzy and he canât think when you kiss him
- gets out of breath so fast bc heâs so overstimulated but doesnât wanna stop so it leads to him panting like a dog in heat
- heâs never had it so bad for someone like he had it for you
- grins into the kiss when you notice his tongue piercing
- you had your arms around his neck to bring him down to your level and played with a hair for a second and his eyes rolled back and he let out the most pornographic moan youâve ever heard and had no shame abt it
- kept doing it when he noticed how heated you got from it
- forgets how to function when making out w/ you
- got a little to frisky and you had to stop him before you went to far and risked being caught
- your manager was so frustrated with you both when he found out but you both just giggled and ran off to go do it again
- if you googled âdumb teens in loveâ you two would show up as the definition
- you hung out with him and the other three the rest of the time you were in Germany
- you and Tom scare him all the time and heâs so extra abt it
- Screams, then gasps for air, and then pats down his body to make sure he didnât ascend before glaring at you both and throwing whateverâs nearest to him at you
- the media loves you guys together
- some thought the relationship was fake because you guys were just that couple
- He helps you learn German and you help him learn English
- literally started bawling into your neck when you had to leave a few weeks later
- whined abt how you should âjust move in with him bc itâd be easierâ
- travels to America lots but mostly pays for you to come out to Germany because he thinks itâs easier
- always calling and texting each other when your both free
- go to each others concerts to support one another (so cute!)
- so many pictures of one of you at the others concerts cheering for them in the crowd

some venting: on parent fandom acceptance and the danny phantom tag
Honestly, the worst thing that certain Danny Phantom fans have done on this site to other fans is say that dp x dc is its own fandom. It's not. There's no such thing as a "crossover fandom" unique unto itself. You can say that people are too into this crossover or too into this au or whatever, but people who are fans of DC and Danny Phantom are into Danny Phantom and DC. That's just. What it is. Both properties are cool and combining them adds more characters and settings to play with together. All lore leads back to one or both parent fandoms, because those are the source material.
"Well the DC crossovers are so differentâ" Please. There have been Danny Phantom and Teen Titans crossovers since Danny Phantom was airing. I have read crossovers with House, NCIS, Supernatural, and probably anything else ffn had to bother with. One of my favorite works is a Gravity Falls fancomic that I still hope will update one day. No one cared how it was crossover then. In fact, I would say that we were one of the most crossed-over properties I knew of at the time that wasn't a SuperWhoLock-type popular show. DC crossovers are not new, they're just popular now.
"Well, it's got its own lore! >:(" Oh, like the vivisection aus? The Full Ghost aus? The corpse aus? The Danny-is-a-portal aus?? Tell me more about how new it is for an au to have its own unique lore. Love to hear it. Definitely it's the same for every author with no variation. There's for sure no unique takes from fans at every step of the way.
"Well, there's so MUCH of it." Tell me more about how other people having fun in their own way is your problem. Go ahead. Tell me more about how other people doing their own thing is personally horrible to you. It's really terrible when people do things you don't want to engage with, isn't it. It has to be separate from your fun. There is definitely no place where they blend; it has to be segregated altogether.
"But they're doing it in MY tag!" Oh, the Danny Phantom tag? The one with Danny in it? Where he's a main character? In the art and fic where he features??
The result is exactly as you'd expect; people who would be interested in joining the Danny Phantom community and making art and fic long-term because they like the characters and the show are getting sidelined because they're failing to like the show in the 'right way'. People who might love to join in and participate in community events and discussion and bring new ideas and aus to the table are being told that they like something completely different than the show in a way that, you know, somehow the original and extremely malleable fandom isn't??
I've been following multiple Danny Phantom blogs (or their author blogs that used to post dp fic) on and off on different accounts since 2015. I used to read Danny Phantom fanfic on ffn on my ipod touch during lunch or on my laptop once I made it home from school years before I even made a tumblr. I used to look forward to Dannymay and Ectober and I think I was even on tumblr the year that Narwhals started the Dannypocalypse?? (I for sure only saw the fallout though. I think I was busy that day)
I don't even open the Danny Phantom tag anymore. I still follow the people I follow...minus the people who've talked crap about fans who like Danny Phantom wrong, apparently, and I hope that good art comes my way without the constant underlying message that we're a scourge on our own fandom, I guess.
Congrats. There are no Danny Phantom fans who find the show through this form of crossover content. You've convinced them there's no point. They have their own tag, their own headcanons, their own fics, and their own culture. Are you happy now? Are you proud to be the fandom that doesn't want new fans? Is it nice, that people won't want to see your art and fics now, despite being hungry for new content? Did it help? Are you better for it? Did you maintain that canon purity you craved??
I saw a supernatural x danny phantom art piece today that kicked ass. It's from an artist I really, really like, who makes a lot of great stuff. I've bought their merch before and was excited all the way through their creative journey. No one tried to jump on them for crossover posting in the Danny Phantom space, using lore that's unique to that crossover.
But it's not about the crossover itself, is it.
#I'm up too late tonight I'm angryposting despite knowing better#if I'm smart I'll delete this in the morning

I canât stop thinking about this one post who claims that in the last few years the most popular hermits are the ones on the life series, if youâre not in the life series good luck having solo fanart or fics. And theyâre right.
Falseâs popularity has been steady especially due to her domination in mcc and joining empires season 2 but art of her season in hermitcraft? Rare. Especially if itâs solo art cause Iâve seen a lot of False with another hermitcraft such as Ren or Pearl or Gem. She just doesnât seem to be around as much in the tumblr tags compared to three years ago.
A while back I checked the hermitcraft sub reddit for their top posts, a lot was season 6/7 and there is so much fanart of Keralis, Iskall, Stress and xB! Not just them with other people but solo art! Yes I can still find that here on tumblr but it involves me digging through tags. And boy if you look at the notes compared to a recent solo Grian or solo Scar art itâs nothing. Now you can argue that itâs based on how much they upload but xB uploads regularly and thereâs not a lot of hermit fanart compared to him and Grian and the later uploads way less! He has nearly twice the amount of hermitcraft videos as Grian and the motherfucking British man hasnât uploaded a hermitcraft episode since early September!
But yet I see more hermitcraft fanart of Grian in the last month than xB. I get it because of subscriber count but come on people, xB is more active but nope, bird beats fish.
And like Rendog I would say has constant fanart but when he wasnât acting as the king on hermitcraft, the time between double and wild life Ren fanart was going down. It was still a lot but because he wasnât in the life series and slowed down on hermitcraft videos due to real life stuff the art went down.
But if you join the life series then expect twice the amount of love. Gem joins, she then joins a base area that has life series players in and suddenly she skyrockets to be one of the favourite hermits. Ignore that Joe hills or StressMonster has been here for so long, Gem joined the life series therefore she has to be a fan fav.
âOh but Doc is still popular! Same as Cub!â Thatâs because they regularly interact with life series players. Cub has Scar and now the permit office workers. Heâs not out hanging with Keralis or Hypno a lot like xB. Doc kind of keeps to himself and interacts with nearly everyone but if thereâs a storyline itâs gonna be with a life series member. Joe hill is only midly popular due to the mcytblr sexyman comp and his long time friendship with Cleo, another life series member. You donât see fanart of him with Welsknight or Iskall.
And fucking Iskall man⌠I saw so much love for him for season 6 and 7 but the moment he had burn out or want making as much content with Mumbo and Grian he just kind of disappeared in fanart and fics. Youâre gonna have an angst fic with Grian and only Scar or Mumbo can help him? Dude was so buddy buddy with Iskall where is he?
And lastly when it comes to season 10 of hermitcraft if youâre not part of the Cherry guys or the post office in regard to bases, youâre not getting any attention. Whereâs the love for xBâs new and improved ocean monument? You all love guardian!xB yet nothing on his season 10. Whereâs the love for the village people? It has so many hermits together but oh thereâs only two life series players and one of them hasnât been in since double life so no love for them.
Iâm just tired of the life series being so connected to hermitcraft because it affected the popularity so muchâŚ
That post canât get out of my head because theyâre right.

So I went to see the Korean version of Angels in America today, and Taevin was amazing, as expected!
I don't feel too good to leave a full review (seriously, going outside in 35 degrees heat should give me a sick leave for work) and it was only Part 1 (3 Acts) so I'll just talk about Taevin briefly, and if anyone's interested in hearing more, I can come up with another post comparing original and Korean versions later...
Anyway, LEE TAEVIN. I was so right to fall into him (the way he acts, but also I'm in love with his voice who knows why). He was very emotional, very bold, captured original Louis so well (and delivered such fast and complicated rants nicely xD) and also - yes, we had gay kiss and implied fucking on stage as well đ In Asian country, talking and showing AIDS stories - it felt very unusual but as an outsider to both cultures and histories, I don't have much ground to speak on.
Also of course, some wordplays were lost but some were added, but mostly the translation was sticking to the original almost perfectly (if only I was more fluent in Korean, I could tall about it even better but I'm really glad I watched the original play first so I knew the story and what they were supposed to say (huge thanks to @dragonsareawesome123 for providing me links!). But I could tell the difference where jokes in English were supposed to land and which comedic moments in Korean striked the best instead xD It was fun noticing. But the loudest laugh (twice at that) was during Louis x Guy hookup on street lol (yes I still can't believe I watched Taevin getting "fucked" on stage the guy really chooses the most queer and bold and interesting roles in the beginning of his acting career)
And there were slight changes in decorations and costumes, and I liked some things more than original, but some original moments got lost.
There are two actors for Prior and tbh I went to see the more popular one because everyone said he's been acting in dramas and other cast worked for me but... I didn't get enough tbh x) Like, Yoo Seungho was good and he was also emotional and delivered lines well - but I guess, I just didn't get the Sick Gay Drag Queen vibes as much as in the original xD I mean, man was so toned and had abs! But the actor himself is thin so it can't be helped Ig, Koreans aren't pale :D
Plus, he was supposed to be contrasting to Louis and Joe but he was less flamboyant so I guess that's the only flaw I can point out. I'll go watch second actor in the second part of the play to compare acting between Korean versions and not with western one, it's going to be interesting.
But still, Seungho himself did a good job with acting with his body and emotional delivery, I'm merely comparing to the original play. He was also very sweet when he came out to the fans after the play ^^
Anyway, the rest of the cast was great as well, the explicity from original - in both language and portrayed things - stayed there and only details ended up more smoothed iut (more Asian style?)
The Art hall was almost full on Sunday, which I was surprised to see for such story, and I saw a lot of couples and people in their 30-40s and nobody left mid-break which to me is a good sign xD
That was a nice experience, it was my first time seeing or knowing about Angels in America too, I'm definitely gonna go for Part 2 because that's where the most of the fun is :D
Tagging @doyou000me @non-binarypal7 who were interested in my review (if you watched the original, I can share more about the actual lines and moments xD)

đđđđđ Izana Kurokawa
ligaw. [noun] courtship; dating; woo. the university's local rockstar tries to win your heart in his classy ways âĄ
âą izana kurokawa x fem!reader
âą tags, and for my favorite people in the fandom, Izana stans đ¤ : @hiraethsdesires @fuyuluvr @izanazqueen @iluvizana @half-baked-biscuit @ask-the-insect-hashira @sukunassuka @izanapogi @em-plosion @chrofeisnightmaregf @mattsune
âą a/n: belated happy birthday to our king đŤ I'm sure all my filipina girlies will agree when I say that Izana is that expensive guy who hangs out a lot in bgc and is probably famous in campus.
Izana Kurokawa was quite a popular guy on campus at his university in the Philippines. He was a part of the âTenjikuâ band, playing the guitar, and he was known for his love of motorcycles and his skill on two wheels. He was known to make quite an entrance when he parked his bike before his classes.
Izana had always been a bit of a control freak when it came to his precious guitar. It was the day of the universityâs annual festival night, and his band was going to perform. Izana's instrument was like an extension of himself. He took great care of it, tuning it to perfection before each show and making sure that no one else touched it without his permission. Not even his band mates, he knew they were professionals themselves, but he trusted it to no one but himself.
So as Tenjiku bandmates were doing a soundcheck on the empty stage, Izanaâs heart dropped when he saw a stage crew carrying his guitar. Her name plate read â[ Y / N ]â at the front, carrying his guitar carefully. If she wasnât wearing the pass, he wouldâve mistaken her for another performer, considering how attractive and how nice she was styled too.
He usually wouldâve thrown a fit, but it wasn't just that she was touching his precious instrument, but the way she was carrying it. She was holding it with such care, like it was a priceless work of art rather than just a tool for playing music.
âWhat are you doing with my guitar?â he asked, his tone serious.
âSome amateurs and I think⌠fans managed to get backstage and peek at your instrument,â [ Y / N ] explained. "I couldn't let them touch it, so I took it to you. Sorry if I intruded."
Izana was impressed by her care and consideration. He knew how much his guitar meant to him, and he was grateful to have someone like her who understood that. âIâll get someone to bring you guysâ your water bottles too, the performance starts soon.â
And so as Izana was performing on stage, his guitar ringing out over the crowds as they cheered and clapped. He was in his element, the music flowing through him like blood, the energy of the crowd pulsing through his veins.
But as the set went on, he started to notice that his guitar was sounding a little off. It wasn't much, just a slight distortion that seemed to be coming from the speakers, but it was enough to rattle his concentration. He couldn't focus on the music, constantly worrying about whether the audience was hearing the same thing.
Luckily, [ Y / N ] seemed to be listening in, because she quickly rushed up to the sound booth to fix the distortion. "There we go," she whispered, her voice low and calm. Izana quickly peeked at her from a distance, grateful for the assistance. She quickly started to tinker with the equipment, checking the cables and fixing a few loose connections after giving him a quick nod.
Izana couldn't help but feel a pang of attraction at what she just did. She seemed so passionate about her work, and he couldn't help but admire that.
Izana was still riding the high of his band's performance at the end of the night, when he spotted [ Y / N ] at the parking lot. As he made her way towards her , he felt a sense of anticipation, eager to see her again. âHey.â he said, catching up. âThanks for all the help again today.â
[ Y / N ] couldn't help but feel her heart rushing as she looked up at him. She felt a mix of emotionsâ admiration, attraction, and a bit of nervousness. âOf course,â she said, a hint of exhaustion mixing with her kind tone. âYou guys did so well. I liked your set.â
Izana smiled at her words, feeling a sense of pride and satisfaction. âThanks,â he said. âYou know, I never let anyone touch my guitar, but you carried it like a pro. Not to mention, you noticed the off-distortion in the middle of my performance. I must say, that was really impressive.â He smiled. âAt least let me take you to your place. Itâs getting late too.â
As they rode through Taguig City, [ Y / N ] couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and adventure. She loved the feeling of the wind in her hair, and the way the city lights stretched out before her like a dazzling kaleidoscope. Izana was the perfect driver, making their trip smooth and comfortable.
Despite the late hour, the streets were still full of peopleâ college students, young professionals, and tourists alike. The city was alive with energy, and it felt as though they were being called in.
As they neared the corner, Izana spotted a food bazaar and immediately made a left turn. [ Y / N ] followed his lead, smiling as she took in the sights and sounds of the bustling night market. âI love this place,â Izana said, dismounting the motorcycle and helping [ Y / N ] down. They were immediately met by the colorful stalls, the sizzling sounds of meat cooking, and the call of the vendors. [ Y / N ] followed Izana through the maze of tents and stalls, trying to make sense of the smells, sounds and smells that attacked her senses.
Finally, they reached a stall that seemed to capture Izana's attention, and she watched as he ordered a plate of sisig (spicy pork dish) and a serving of white rice while [ Y / N ] settled with a simple order of Lumpia (egg rolls).
[ Y / N ] couldn't help but smile, appreciating the joy on his face. She had never seen a grown man enjoy food so much. As they sat there, she couldn't help but think about how much they had done together in such a short amount of time. It had only been a night, and she had gone from never having heard of him to having a well-deserved late dinner together after a long day of putting up a show for everyone in the university.
The night air was cool and crisp, and the sounds of the street vendors and bustling crowds filled their ears as they walked. The vendor poured the frosty coconut juice into two glasses and handed them over to Izana, who smiled and held out one of the glasses to [ Y / N ]. She took a sip, and the cool liquid refreshed her after the long, hot day. The juice was creamy and sweet with a hint of coconut, and [ Y / N ] found herself finishing the glass before she knew it.
As they rode through the city, the lights and billboards shining brightly against the nighttime sky, [ Y / N ] couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and amazement. It was one of those moments that made her feel tiny and insignificant, like she was just a spec in the vastness of the universe.
Izana rode with a sense of ease and grace, his eyes scanning the streets for any potential hazards. She felt safe and secure in his arms, like he was her personal guardian from the world's dangers.
As they neared her dorm, she couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness. The night had flown by in a flash, and she wasn't ready for it to be over. But she knew that it was only the beginning of their time together. She knew that there would be many more nights like this, many more adventures and experiences to share.
and she was right, it was just the beginning of something beautiful with Izana. Him being a man of class and culture, Izana went on going above and beyond to truly show [ Y / N ] that he was serious about her.
He would surprise her with gifts, take her on unforgettable dates, and become her personal rider as they go to and go home from school together on his bike. He was a true gentleman, and made sure she was comfortable.
He was a natural leader, someone who was always in control, always focused and driven. And yet, he was also sensitive and compassionate, always putting [ Y / N ]'s needs above his own. He was a man with a kind heart and a fierce love for those he cared about, and [ Y / N ] knew that she was one of the lucky ones to have him in her life.
Izana was a true connoisseur of the finer things in life, and he loved sharing that with [ Y / N ]. She was flattered that he took such joy in showing her the luxurious and artistic side of the city, and she knew that these experiences would be forever etched in her memory. These activities not only brought them closer together, but also made them appreciate the beauty of life and the world around them.
So as an arts lover through and through, he loved taking [ Y / N ] to art museums and galleries, where they could spend hours gazing at the incredible works of art, appreciating the beauty of each piece. From the historically rich walls of Manila into the imposing architecture in Bonifacio Global City, they would stroll along the streets, surrounded by high-rise buildings and lush greenery. The city was alive with energy, and there was always something new to discover.
As much as they loved high-end corners of Taguig, Izana and [ Y / N ] would often venture out to Cubao, the place to be for the local music scene where they could catch local bands jamming out and performing live music. It was a unique experience, and they could feel the energy of the crowd as they watched the bands on stage.
They enjoyed exploring different venues and checking out different genres, from rock to indie to even jazz. Izana was a big fan of rock and indie music, so they often frequented places like the Hard Rock Cafe, which featured local bands playing these genres. [ Y / N ], on the other hand, enjoyed exploring different genres and discovering new bands that Izana loved. They loved the experience of trying out different sounds and seeing the different reactions of the crowd.
It was during these moments that [ Y / N ] felt the most in tune with Izana. They would rock out to their favorite songs, sharing headphones and singing along together. It was a way for them to express themselves, and even though they had different music tastes, they found common ground in their shared love of live music.
[ Y / N ] couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and commitment that Izana showed her every day. She was truly blessed to have found someone like him, who was not only her lover, but also her best friend, her confidant, and her soulmate. She knew that their love was something special, something that would last a lifetime.
So when [ Y / N ] gave Izana her sweet "yes", everything was worth it. As Izana held [ Y / N ] in his arms, the whole world seemed to fade away. All he could see and feel was her, and their shared love. He had waited for this moment for so long, and now it was finally here. Everything had led up to this moment - the long nights of studying, the late nights of conversation, and the sweet moments shared together.
It was now as if they were one, united in their love for one another. They had started as friends, and now they were partners, companions, and lovers. It was a journey that had taken them from strangers to soulmates, and it was one that they would always share from now on.

Spotting Misogyny in the Mad Max Fandom: A Handy Guide
What IS Misogyny
Pull up any Mad Max Facebook group, the comments section on the official Furiosa marketing posts, or the comments section on any Furiosa video on YouTube. You'll find whiners screeching things like "boohoo we can't even have Max in Mad Max BECAUSE OF WOKE." You'll see them blaming the movie's modest box office returns on the fact that the movie has an "ICKY GIRL PROTAGONIST WITH COOTIES." If you get really unlucky when seeing misogynistic content, you might even find some really gross dirty AI deepfake pics of ATJ or Charlize as Furiosa.
What is NOT Misogyny
An artist drew some characters that aren't Furiosa. AND/OR The fandom likes some male characters from Furiosa. If you feel the need to consider this misogyny, consider the following points: 1. Waffles vs. pancakes. If someone says "I love waffles!" it's absurd to read into that message and assume it carries the hidden meaning of "I hate pancakes!" If someone draws some male characters from "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," it's equally absurd to assume they're doing this as a malicious and misogynistic act against Furiosa. ALSO If you think "No Furiosa in this pic = misogyny," then do you think "No Big Jilly, Fang, or other POC character in fan art = racist"? I'm guessing no. Because that would be silly. And probably because you're just morally grandstanding and slinging bad-faith accusations as a way to justify your temper tantrum about not getting free content of your blorbo. ----- 2. Everyone making fan art for "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" is someone who saw the movie and was passionate about it, despite it being an under-marketed movie that didn't strike gold at the box office. Most of us didn't have any IRL friends that saw the movie. For those of us who followed the hype (or lack thereof) leading up to the film, there was a bunch of backlash from actual misogynists over the film just straight-up existing. (Like all those manbaby whiners on the gamergate grifter side of YouTube) . And it's not like the fandom is riding a cultural tidal wave â the people making fan art are genuinely expressing their love for the film and its universe. We're not farming internet points or drawing these "popular male characters" for some nefarious purpose. Some people just happen to attach to different characters. Does that bother you? Learn to blacklist tags. ----- 3. If you wanna go fight misogyny in the MM fandom, go over to Facebook and Reddit and get into an internet slapfight with one of the many middle-aged neckbeards screaming shit like "MAD MAX HAS GONE WOKE REEEEEEE." But nah, it's probably easier to send shitty anon asks to artists, isn't it? What do you think you're doing? Do you think you're owed an apology because someone made high-effort fan art, but without your blorbo? Do you think you're creating some kind of positive change in the world or the fandom by whinging anonymously in the ask box of an artist? ----- 4. There's plenty of content of Furiosa (the character.) Aside from there being, y'know, a whole damn movie dedicated to her, she was pretty much Tumblr's darling from 2015-2016, and remains a popular character for art and fic. Yay! That's great! Go feast on those! Every artist in this fandom is not obligated to feed you. We all have our fixations. And if you want that content so damn badly, make it yourself or pay someone to. ----- 5. Also, if you feel the need to go through someone's blog to see if they've reblogged enough Furiosa to pass your litmus test, you're being a weirdo. Stop it. Get some help. What are you, a cop? Do you think you can just pull random artists over and go through their reblogs to determine their "guilt" or "innocence," with regards to your accusations? It's as if you're a highway patrol officer checking out someone's history of traffic violations when determining whether to issue them a speeding ticket.
-----
So there you have it. TL;DR, it's some deeply terminally online clown behavior to attach moral weight to how many ATJ gifs and Furiosa drawings someone has on their blogs. Quit slinging bad-faith assumptions at fellow members of the fandom.

A more positive take on fanon Aoinene
Iâve talked extensively about the problems with how Aoi and Nene are characterized by fans of the ship, and Iâm not here to take it all back. However, upon reflecting, I realized I may have contributed a bit towards fandomsâ negative perception of femslash. That was never my goal, my point in all my Aoinene-critical posts is that femslash ships deserve to be treated with just as much nuance as slash ships. This includes criticizing them without needlessly bashing them. Iâd say Iâve been successful in my journey to make the TBHK fandom take Aoinene more seriously, so today Iâd like to celebrate that progress by talking about the things I love about Aoinene shippers!!
First off, Aoinene is among the top 10 most written for ships on TBHK ao3. Itâs above multiple canon pairings like Aoi/Akane, Sakura/Natsuhiko, and Sumire/Hakubo. Whether you think it deserves to be above those ships or not, it makes me happy to see a femslash ship be so popular in a fandom. Itâs still the only popular femslash ship in this fandom (as much as people talk abt Aoi/Mei, thereâs still very little creations for it), but baby steps. Aoinene has so many fan fictions, edits, fan arts, fan accounts, etc. Itâs rare for femslash pairings to be so popular in fandoms dominated by male characters. I think it helps that the women in TBHK are generally well-written and important, but Iâd say the male characters still outnumber them slightly. So just seeing a fandom so invested in two women getting together is enough to make me smile
I know Iâve critiqued their characterization a lot, but Iâve seen some major progress lately!! Both with how theyâre written, and with how the fandom talks about them. Itâs not as often nowadays that I see people bashing the canon ships to put them down, and most of their fans seem to be capable of acknowledging their flaws. There are some exceptions ofc but I see Aoinene mischaracterization way less than when I first got into the fandom. Iâve seen an increase in people depicting them as âtoxic/doomed yuri,â aka the term that lowkey saved sapphic ships in fandoms lol. Keep in mind that when TBHK first came out, femslash was not nearly as popular as it is now (and weâre only just beginning, thereâs still a long way to go). It was common, and still is, for femslash ships in shonen fandoms to be depicted as the fluffy, unproblematic side pairing. Fans saw femslash as a way to take a breather from all the angsty men. Aoinene was turned into another boring ship among dozens, but they havenât stayed that way. With femslash gaining popularity, Iâve seen improvement in how femslash ships are characterized all across the board
Onto the fics themselves, I have never read an Aoinene fic I disliked!! (Besides the weird ones I skimmed for shock value). The vast majority of them are super cute and written so prettily. When I talk about their mischaracterization, Iâm pointing out trends Iâve noticed rather than the fics themselves. The reason you donât see me talk this way about Teru/Akane and Mitsuba/Kou is because I simply donât read that much slash fan fiction, even for mlm ships I like (not anymore at least, I used to be way more into slash). Iâve read through the ao3 tags for p much every TBHK femslash ship, but if Iâm reading a fic thatâs mlm or mlw it has to be suited to my tastes. I could definitely talk abt how Mitsuba and Kou are mischaracterized by the fandom but I donât really bother with fics that write them that way so itâs not gonna nag me to the extent that Aoinene mischaracterization does.
I'm saying this because I donât want it to seem like Iâm targeting them unfairly compared to other ships, I point out room for improvement because Aoinene is my favorite and I want to see more diversity in the way theyâre written. Hear that? Diversity, the problem isnât the fics themselves, I just want to see more where theyâre written in a way that explores their conflict. Fics like this already exist but theyâre not as common. My gripe isnât wanting to see less of a âbadâ thing, itâs wanting to see more of a really good thing
And alsoâŚnot everyone has to agree with me. There are some sapphics that just want to see completely fluffy wlw content, or that want to limit the angst to âit was one-sided :(â. And ykw? I may want to see more than that, but if other fans want to keep writing or reading them a certain way then thatâs great. There are also shippers who wish Aoi and Nene had been written differently, and I agree. I wish their friendship was given more depth than the crumbs we get in canon, though I still hold out hope that AidaIro will give them development. Some shippers specifically wish Aoi had been a lesbian, and that Nene had been the one to understand her rather than Akane. I disagree with this take- well okay I would love a canon lesbian character but Iâm happy with Aoi and Akane being canon + I like that Aoinene have their own set of struggles. But if other people wish the manga had gone in a different direction then theyâre perfectly entitled to that opinion. I donât have to agree with them, and they donât have to agree with me
Now I want to talk about some Aoinene fanon tropes I love because I donât see people do that with them that often:
⢠When Aoi gets all flustered over how strong Nene isâŚthe reverse is cute too but I have a soft spot for damsel in distress Aoi. Let Nene carry her girlfriend!!
⢠Fics that have Aoi open up to Nene and let them talk about their problems. THIS is the thing we need more of omg I love it. This is what Aoinene is all about guys
⢠The flowers!! There are so many flowers in Aoinene fics!! Ahhhhh I love it sm. That one Beecalm fic where Aoi owned a magical flower shop and Nene took one homeit lives rent free in my mind
⢠Them having constant sleepovers, it feels so biblically accurate
⢠When theyâre always going out and doing things together like going to the beach or shopping; again it feels very true to their dynamic
⢠Aoi pining is great and all but when people turn Nene into the pining one itâs so galaxy brain. Obviously mutual pining is superior but Nene being down bad for her best friend is so real
⢠Iâm a big fan of fics that acknowledge that Aoi only gaf abt two ppl lmao, when they show her obvious bias towards Nene is makes me giggle
⢠Any fic that includes Aoiâs mommy issues
⢠The theme of seasons in their fics!! Omg itâs so creative. âmy summer, my winterâ by novaselic is a personal fave of mine (in addition to Beecalm, novaselic is also on the Aoinene Mount Rushmore btw)
⢠I know itâs overused in sapphic fics but I love when they go on picnics
⢠Nene showing up late to class and Aoi being early
⢠I love when fics lean into the extroverted side of Neneâs personality or in general have her act like an awkward ball of energy. Yes sheâs very insecure and angsty but sheâs also so funny and it makes me happy when I see writers capturing both sides of her personality. This girl befriends ppl so easily in canon, we should talk abt it more
⢠Whenever they simp for Sakura. Idc which one of them it is, it could even be both of them, it feels so canon. Sakura being the Teru to Aoiâs Nene is something that can be so personal
⢠When their friends know they like each other and tease them/try to wingman. Wingman Akane you will always be famous
Okay Iâm gonna end it there because I could yap abt Aoinene fics forever. I might need to reread some, or find some ones I havenât read yet. Every now and then I go through the tag and find some Iâve missed. Orrrrrr I might write Aoinene fan fiction, I should see if I can finish the Snow White au this weekend. No promises tho
Anyways I wrote this as a love letter to the Aoinene community; I love you guys, keep up the good work. If it werenât for yaâll Iâd be alone in my hyperfixation so Iâm glad others enjoy them as much as I do <3

I like Ongezellig, it popped up like half a decade ago on my feed randomly. Thought it was cutely done, saw Maya and was "oh no, she just like me fr fr" Waited and saw part 3 show up and then the rest.
I sometimes just have stuff that I love, but don't even bother engaging the fandom in any way. There are shows that have helped me be less of a cunty teenager decades ago that i love, but I have never gone to a fan forum or searched tags on any site. Sometimes I only search out the creative parts of the fandom and don't bother with discussions.
I love the random little things you can find on sites like Tumblr or other art-focused platforms for Ongezellig. Redraws, OC's in the shows style and fun pieces of some of the background characters Because oh, oh no, I'm not a fan of the rest of the community. But we'll hit that up later. Later. The creator made webcomics before. Had a little youtube channel with YTP's and some random reviewy stuff. Had an old Deviantart with some furry and the rare pony thing. Did an interview for a dutch comic collection ages ago that was a fun read.
(So, you only have to mail this letter) (Mailbox has a colloquial word where it's shortened to 'bus', same word as the vehicular one. "To put a letter on the bus") (... Yes, the one without wheels) He had a little comic named 'Caiasos' that was a bit of a disjointed adventure. Followed with Mayo & Curry. Simplistic 3-4 panel comics with a bit of a newspaper format.
(One day, Mayo wondered what ink tasted like) (You know that's poisonous, right?) (The box reads "Correction Fluid") A lot of the Mayo & Curry stuff is dutch snackbar puns or kinda standard early webcomic 'sleaze' as I can only describe it. Ever read like Chugsworth Academy?
(Hey Curry, it's not really clear what our relationship is in this comic. Are we family, girlfriends, roommates...) (Haha, silly Mayo. If you read the comics well it's very obvious.) (Anyway, time for walks!) Cute enough I suppose. I used to read Sexylosers when I was like 15, who am I to truly complain.
The creator did some creative & animation schooling and made a fun project. Some of you may have seen this one fly by, too!
youtube
Somewhere around the same time, he also made a little bumper for a comic festival.
youtube
He would also do little bits on dutch history, wether it be the Dutch History Iceberg video that got popular a bit ago or his more comedic Stille Willem videos. Studio Massa, the creator, was looking to get the Ongezellig show picked up. Some of the early episodes do throw in a school shooting thing and some very dutch middleschool discrimination to the Belgians. Granted, these are pilots. Would it have been picked up, I'm sure a few things here and there would get a fix up. This did not come to pass after a long time of trying to showcase it and even finishing his pilot series. However, he did land a job at a national tv station. I hope to see new projects of his over time, maybe even bring 1 or 2 of his old characters to new life in another show.
Little write-up on my experience with a subsection of it's fandom and community under the cut, feel free to ignore at your own discretion.
I went on a little deepdive to find out more a bit ago, I didn't follow the Petje-af or the Discord at the times of their inception or popularity. One of the first places you end up is imageboards and booru's. What a treat. Some of the ' documentation' of the shows reception online is very muddled. Encyclopedia Dramatica kinda stuff. Inane terms and barely understandable references to sites or people. He also has a KF thread that lists a large amount of uncomfortable information. By the time I found a few of those boards and booru's, it was already clear that they had some mass-extinction thing happen a few years ago and had to rebuild an imageboard and a booru or 2. Dragging myself to the very first page already got me greeted with "WE WILL REBUILD" sentiments. I get that there's a certain combination in the show that will bring in a specific audience. Underage characters and some historically charged discrimination. There's an underlying edginess to one of the characters that brings in a certain type of people. I have seen multiple posts and write-ups spanning a few years between eachother where people sort of announce they are done with the shows fanbase on this level. Lot's of adult art of these characters. While most places seem to be purged of this and plenty of (THIS POST HAS BEEN DELETED) messages all over by this time. There's a sentiment shared across a lot of these types of fans. "fucking tr00ns ruined my fucking show" I've come across plenty of junk where some one makes a call to action because they found some one with a trans flag in their bio and posted some art of the show. I can't really find the root of this problem. All that seems to have actually happened is that a buncha people were being massive bigots in the discord, got banned for it and then they got indignant about it. There's mention that some one spammed some boards with the show ages ago and somehow invited tons of transphobia into the room. Like I said, it's all muddled and written from certain perspectives.
It's like that one part of the K-on fanbase really. I just find strange and a bit of a shame that there's such an active and hostile subsection of this little fandom. I have come across multiple write-up from people who just can't interact with their fun little show without some out-there types showing up. Even little videos that try to bring this show to a larger audience find their comments littered with bizarre callouts to the small imageboard groups. A prized possession of that snippet of the community is a game about Mymy shooting up her school. I understand this is supposed to be a niche layer of fandom that's still pretty isolated to 4/5 sites at most. I understand that there will always be outliers. I dunno, frustration about a fun little show made manifest.

âbig name bxg c-fans earn a lot because cpf give their money to them instead of xz and wyb.â đ
I wanted to address this comment i saw yesterday but I had to organize my thoughts first as best as i could. I also knew GRA events are gonna take up a lot of my time so i had push it back. However, i want to post about it here even if the topic associated to this didnât blow up that much (thankfully) cause it irritated me. Iâm very used to certain fans having a skewed view of bxgs. I understand that no matter what we say, the prejudice is too heavy to even see reason.
So this is more of to explain to bxgs how this statement is completely wrong and why it shouldnât even be said in the first place.
Letâs start with the context.
On 11/2, when there was supposed to be an entertainment ban, a few hot search tags popped up. The boysâ name or even BXG was not on it but it sort of involved the fandom. The gist is this person is a former big name BXG account back in 2019 who is now a yxh. They earned a lot from that work and was able to buy â 8 housesâ. That was actually what got on HS, the idea that someone who is working as a yxh can be that rich.
I guess people missed the fact that this person earned the money from yxh âworkâ and not being a BXG account. Some just saw âbxgâ so they made a connection and so the comment i posted above was a common statement. The fact that XZ and WYB are top stars too added to the conversation.
First of all, being a big name account that posts about XZ and WYB back in 2019 isnât that hard. Untamed was at itâs peak that time and so were the active fans. The drama was airing. They had appearances and were practically everywhere. It would not take that much to get the likes, follows and engagement for 2 people that had a lot of content going on. After that, when 2020 rolled in, I understand how some people on the c-side of things will fall off. They probably had new interests and I think the same goes for that account. They were there at the height of it and learned how being a profitable blog works. So I wanna say that this fan was seasonal. To say that they ârepresentâ all big name bxg blogs is totally unfair.
Next i wanna address the concept of profit and âcpfs giving money to big name accountsâ.
The easiest way is engagement to a bloggerâs post. It may not be me giving the money in my pocket to them literally but they get earnings from engagement & through ads/ affiliate links. This concept is not new to BXGs. Itâs the same as any other influencers out there. So the accusation of spending money to big name accounts instead of supporting the boys â in this case is misleading.
You can argue that a regular person, even so/os fall in this trap when they engage with blatant anti accounts. When they comment and share those posts, they give them the engagement.
Now there are two other ways that bxgs give their actual money to these big name accounts.
1. Fansites. Those that share HQ photos and videos of them during events. How they make money aside from engagement is selling photo-books. Whatâs important to remember tho is there is an unspoken rule among these sites ( not just bxg ones ) that a huge part of the earnings will be spent on charity and buying endorsements by the boys. they post receipts. Not everyone of them is perfect and some have their own issues and closed down but thatâs just how it goes.
2. Fan artists. The concept of fan art & merch have long been alive and is honestly one of the best things about fandom. It gives a chance to artists to make something and earn from it. I have to say that this is the more lucrative one cause the really popular ones have their products ( usually the dolls ) sell out so fast and have months of waiting list. The same fan sites, there is a rule for them to use the money for charity.
Here is a post I made before about some of those charities but thatâs a very small list compared to the actual initiatives that were done for years.
As for supporting the boys, these accounts buy endorsements, magazines of them in the cover ( in bulk ), organize LED ads for their birthdays or fandom anniversaries, sponsor peripherals for bxg gatherings, host block screenings for movies etc.
Lastly, however someone spends the money they earned is none of anyoneâs business. These people on the internet thinking itâs okay to gloat about how they are the âbest fanâ out there because of how much they spend on a celebrity is so crass. Itâs like giving Yibo a gift and leaving all the tags on cause you want him to know exactly how much you spent on him.
I appreciate fans that do spend. I really do. It helps alot with their brand value and career. I personally buy merch and watch content on paid platforms. However it should not be a way to measure someoneâs worth as a fan. There is no need to shame people who want to spend their money elsewhere and not XZ or WYB. This kind of toxic mindset is largely prevalent in c-ent fandoms that some international fans are adapting. If there is something that the CCP and I agree on, itâs that this practice shouldnât be demanded of fans. The idea of âhow dare you spend on something you likeâ ( whether itâs a product from a big name fan or whatever ) exposes whoever is saying it as that kind of brainwashed fan.
So anyway, participate in the fandom in a way that you are comfortable with. We all have different approaches on how we take part in it and there is really no need to keep receipts. âđź

Katya freaking out that Geno saw her story: https://t.me/katyastarova13/1597
PSA: if you tag Geno on your insta story, he may see it...
oh i can safely say he has never seen any of my insta stories, trust me i was checking obsessively when i posted the final renders of my sculpt 𤣠i was extremely relieved when nothing happened, and my posts got little to no attention, and im still mostly flying under the radar đ @robindrake13 can confirm when i posted those sculpt renders i was terrified of the possibility of a sudden increase in tumblr anon hate messages or more creepy threats about where i live/work (to be clear: from fans on here not geno lol). but nothing happened, im good :) also with the amount of public stuff geno has been up to this summer my post is already totally buried in his tag.
if anyone on here is curious about my insta 'professional' account there is a đ§ highlight reel with all the old stories but honestly its all just content that this tumblr blog saw more of, nothing different or new.
also if anyone is curious how insta tagging works, it actually sends a message to the person who is tagged, and then they can click on it and view that specific story/post on its own. i found this out the day i tagged jorge gu*tierrez when he autographed my art book in 2022 and then he 'liked' the insta message and i had a minor meltdown bc i didnt realize insta would do that. and this was back when there was like zero art on my insta, it was just me being dumb in photos and lots of hiking / road trip documentating. i was so embarrassed to think he saw that. nowadays, being desperate for networking and all, i definitely tag artists and directors whenever i go see their presentations and there is totally a huge gap between the people who will just ignore you vs the ones (sometimes more popular than the ones who ignore you) who take the time to kindly respond. only once has this actually resulted in me meeting up with an artist though so im not sure my method is working.
anyway speaking of insta messages, i am more likely to get DM's from confused or jealous men asking who the heck geno is. case in point, just today:
i think my answer totally cleared up any confusion
#also also no i have never tagged anyone else in my sculpts on insta other than geno#rami bless his heart doesnt even have an account#and i was too chicken to tag lupita even though she has always been nice to fan artists#but with geno I was all like I MUST BE BRAVE AND TAG HIM#lmao I dunno im weird its best if people just ignore me#also fun fact if you add a story to your highlight reel you can see activity on the post for up to two days instead of 24 hrs#so yeah i can be almost 100% certain that geno never saw any of it

Spookyface - Tyler Joseph x Reader
Warnings: Crazy fan art
Word Count: 1110
A/N: Bandito battle prompt 3! Not gonna lie, this one was so much harder than prompt 2 bc I don't really write Joshler so it took me a while to figure out what I was gonna do. But I think I pulled through â despite it being shorter. Enjoy!!
Every morning when I woke up I scrolled through my social media. Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter (because no one ever calls it X), no matter what platform I loved being tagged in things the fans made and posted. Except this morning Iâd been tagged in a particular piece of fan art that caught my eye.
âUh Tyler what is this?â I pushed my phone into his face. Weâd decided to sleep in that morning, wrapped in between the soft sheets of our bed. The late night out weâd enjoyed had completely drained us. Unsurprisingly Iâd woken up entangled between Tyler and the wall of pillows Iâd built in the middle of the night.Â
âHuh?â He rolled over to face me, taking the glowing phone from my hand and bringing it closer to his tired face. âWhat theââÂ
The drawing flashed into his eyes. I couldnât tear my eyes away from the ridiculousness of Tylerâs Blurryface character, his signature red beanie perched on his head, locking lips with Joshâs alter ego, Spooky Jim, who was sporting his unnerving red eye makeup. Tylerâs finger guns added a layer of ridiculousness that made the whole thing more bizarre and funny. My initial shock was quickly replaced by laughter, though, as I processed what I was actually seeing.Â
âWait, I've seen this before,â he passed the phone back to me, laughing to himself.Â
âSorry what?â My brows furrowed as I chuckled, almost in denial.Â
âYeah the fans were super into this ship between Blurryface and Spooky Jim back in the day. This piece of fan art was really popular so we saw it all over social media, I guess itâs trending again.â
It wasnât the first time fan art had left me speechless, but this one was a whole new level of absurdity.Â
âFans shipped Blurryface and Spooky Jim? Seriously?!â I couldnât stop the giggle that bubbled up.
Tyler shrugged, still chuckling as he stretched his arms, yawning lazily. âYeah, youâd be surprised what they come up with. Itâs been happening since we started.â
I sat up in bed, crossing my legs beneath me, still holding the phone and staring at the image. It wasnât the art itself that was unsettlingâactually, the quality of it was impressive. The lines were clean, and the shading gave a certain depth to the figures. It was more the concept.Â
âOkay, but finger guns? Really?â I snorted, shaking my head. âYouâre not that bold.â
Tyler propped himself up on one elbow, grinning as he rubbed his eyes. âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
I rolled my eyes. âCome on, thereâs no way you would ever be doing finger guns while making out with someone.â
âAbsolutely I would,â he said with mock seriousness, giving me a playful smile.
We both dissolved into laughter, and I fell back onto the pillows. It was so absurd, but it was also kind of sweet in a strange way. The fans had always been imaginative, but this took it to a new level.
âDo you remember the first time you saw something like this?â I asked as I wiped a tear from my eye, still giggling.
Tyler raised his eyebrows, thinking for a moment. âOh yeah, it was ages ago. One of the first pieces of fanart we ever saw was of me as Blurryface, like, in the Stressed Out video and Josh was playing drums in the background. It was crazy good. But hey, the fans love it. Theyâre super creative.â
I nodded, remembering the countless times we had come across these little gems online. It was flattering in a way. The fans cared enough about Tyler and Josh's creations to build entire narratives around them. Still, seeing them depicted as romantic interests was a curveball I hadn't expected this morning.
âShould we⌠post about this?â I asked, holding the phone up. âMaybe the artist would love that.â
Tyler shrugged again, a smirk playing on his lips. âIf you want to fuel the fire, sure. People love it when we acknowledge this stuff, especially the weird ones.â
I grinned, mischievous thoughts swirling. âOh, Iâm definitely fueling the fire.â
I opened Twitter, found the tweet where Iâd been tagged, and hit repost.
âOh no, what are you doing?â Tyler said, watching me over my shoulder.
âReposting it,â I laughed, typing in a caption. âAccording to Tyler he hasnât seen this in a while đâ
Within minutes, the notifications started pouring in. The tweet was being liked, shared, and commented on at lightning speed. The fan base was having a collective meltdown, and I couldnât help but smile at how excited they were. The artist themselves replied, clearly thrilled that weâd noticed their work, even if we were poking fun at it.
Tyler glanced at the chaos unfolding on my screen and chuckled. âOh, theyâre gonna be talking about this for weeks.â
âGood,â I said, grinning. âItâs fun to interact with them like this. Plus, itâs harmless.â
Tyler nodded in agreement, though I could see the gears turning in his head. He was always thinking about how to connect with the fans in unique ways. We spent the rest of the morning scrolling through the responses, occasionally reading some of the funnier comments out loud to each other.
âOkay, look at this one,â I said, stifling a laugh. ââBlurryface and Spooky Jim confirmed endgame.â Tyler grinned.Â
As the morning passed, it became clear that this little interaction had made the fans' day. More fan art started popping upâsome of it equally ridiculous, some of it beautifully serious. There were drawings of Blurryface and Spooky Jim doing everything from solving crimes to baking cakes. Each one was more absurd than the last, and it was hilarious. At one point, I looked over at Tyler, who was lying beside me, scrolling through his own feed now. His smile was soft, almost nostalgic. I could tell he was thinking about how far they'd comeâfrom playing tiny venues to this global fandom that cared enough to create entire worlds around their music.
âYou ever think about how weird it is?â I asked quietly.
He glanced at me, raising an eyebrow. âWhat do you mean?â
âThat all these people feel so connected to you guys that they create stuff like this? Like, it's not just about the music anymore. It's about the stories they build around it.â
Tyler thought for a moment, then nodded. âItâs also kinda beautiful, you know? It means weâve created something that resonates with them on a deeper level. And if that means Blurryface and Spooky Jim making out, then... I guess thatâs just part of the deal.â
I laughed, nodding. âYeah, I guess so.â

i don't usually block people much in the community, i more go for blocking tags and keywords if it's a ship i don't like or something. this is because there's people whose art i love who might enjoy ships that i don't (i'm very picky with my ships so this is extremely common and normal), so really i only block spammers and drama hoarders
however, i have to admit the urge is always there when i see someone dogging michael andersen to hell and back, portraying him as a manipulative mastermind or an energy vampire or something. like it's just annoying and sometimes dips into some arguments that rub me the wrong way. this goes doubly for when this stuff ends up in the notes of my own posts
don't get me wrong, i'm not saying the guy is purely good, or that he never did anything dickish... but, everyone in the series is like that sometimes, so i don't think it matters much with his character specifically. so seeing michael's flaws getting inflated to be way worse than everyone else's is weird. hell, even if you take habit's words at face value and believe them, which honestly could be interesting as a story beat if done correctly because it has the moral complexity i love so much, i think it's more likely that once again, michael is being turned into the universal scapegoat and he can never escape it. but i'm getting off topic
it makes things difficult sometimes when i see michael get this kind of character reception i guess, because i often see it among people who enjoy shaun's character like i do, but it's almost led to a level of distrust because it's like. do you like shaun's character for the moral complexity and/or the potential for a character arc, or are you a fan because you watched the series, saw michael clearly needing help, and immediately translated that into him being a danger to everyone around him or being toxic or whatever. sometimes i worry that by simply posting about shaun a lot, possibly contributing to some more popularity with the character, i've unintentionally opened the floodgates for some people to watch a series about mental illness only to completely disregard the guy with a mental illness who needed support. no matter how much i say i love the character and i think this mentality is fucked up, there's always going to be a possibility of it happening, and i've seen it more often in the last year or so. do you get me
#og#this is just my excuse to ramble at 1 AM btw so its going untagged#i love mlandersen0 i love michael andersen
