Kinda unrelated, but I also felt this for JJBA, I wish I could watch it for the first time again following the same process I did: I thought it would be shit, yet I saw some part 3 fan art and thought, "why not"? So while watching part 1 and 2, since I was super curious for part 3, I began reading a jotakak fic and building all these false expectations over the crusaders (that was one of the best weeks of my life, I swear)... Though in the end I found out it was even better than I could hope for.

Joseph responds with a laugh of his own, sitting at a table before the elderly man that's helped his family so much. The two were close allies ever since the defeat of Kars. Since then, Joseph has seen Speedwagon as a parental figure.

"I assume you've had your fair share of partners? Or have you decided to live alone?" Joseph asks, noticing Speedwagon pause before looking away.

"Oh, I do have one I hold close. Met them a long time ago and I have loved them ever since." Speedwagon sighs happily, leaning his head on his hand.

"Oh really, old man?" Joseph hums, intrigued. "How come I've never seen them?"

"They... They don't typically like to go out. Probably for the best!" Speedwagon chuckles. "I'd rather they stayed away from all the Pillarman trouble."

"Do they live in America?" Joseph asks, curious to know about Speedwagon's spouse. He's never mentioned them before.

"Oh yes! We got married here and have been happy ever since." Speedwagon grins, smiling with a dreamy look on his face.

"For not mentioning them you seem to love them an awful lot...." Joseph smiles, relating to the old man. After all, he loved his wife probably just as much.

"Of course... I'd do anything for them." Speedwagon vows. "I'd buy them whatever, I'd care for them, I'd... keep them all to myself..."

"I could look into those eyes forever..." Speedwagon sighs, eyes closed. "My love has always been beautiful... even now when we're both old. It's just the two of us... as it should always be...."

Joseph hears Speedwagon's tone shift into a whisper. A puzzled look comes across the young man's face when he notices the elder's demeanor change. Was... that normal?

"I always keep a picture of them!" Speedwagon beams, passing a photo of his spouse to Joseph. Joseph looks over the photo. They seem to be smiling... but something's off.

"I see... how about me and Suzi visit you and your spouse sometime?" Joseph offers, now noticing Speedwagon freeze.

"N-No... ah... my spouse likes to be alone, Joseph." Speedwagon smiles, but Joseph can notice a darker tone coming from him.

Joseph frowns... something isn't right... is his spouse okay?

"Oh... are they reclusive?" Joseph presses.

"Yes! Yes... they... they are only really comfortable around me in our home." Speedwagon nods. "Even then... it took a bit to be used to me too."

"Really...?" Joseph urges Speedwagon to continue.

"When we first got together it took some... adjusting." Speedwagon admits, chuckling to himself. "They originally didn't like staying in the house all the time... they were a bit frugal with affection... but with a little coaxing they accepted me."

Joseph pauses, staring the the old man. Did... did he just admit he coerced his spouse? Does... he know that?

"Are you sure they love you...?" Joseph whispers.

"What kind of question is that!?" Speedwagon snaps. "Of course they do!"

There's a long pause between the two... tension lingering in the air. Joseph is unsure how to respond before Speedwagon continues.

"T-The point is... a good partner must be willing to make sacrifices for their beloved! Don't you agree?" Speedwagon smiles, although Joseph can see a nervous quiver come from the elder.

"Y-Yeah... yeah I can see what you mean-" Joseph murmurs, looking away.

"Speaking of spouses... perhaps you should return to your own." Speedwagon suggests, tone taking a dark turn again before standing up. "I'm sure my own misses me, too."

"You're right... good talk, old man!" Joseph laughs nervously before the two men go their separate ways.

Joseph doesn't feel all that great after chatting with Speedwagon. He seems like such a great guy... but is what he said true? The thought haunts him.

Even as Joseph returns to Suzi Q... his thoughts go back to Speedwagon's spouse... he worries for the poor spouse but what can he do?

How long had they put up with him... and were they really happy with him?

Kars is a DEMON at the dentist. his teeth are perfect ofc but he can’t stand someone poking around in his mouth. honestly think the only person he would maybe let do it is esidisi but i could see this man gassing himself up and doing his own extraction with some dusty ass mirror😭. honestly think he’s super cuddly when he’s inebriated, holding his fellow pillar men close and cooing over them and how happy they’ll all be once he gets the Aja. also very demanding as always, wants a sip of water and a cold press constantly.

Esidisi is already an emotional nightmare when he’s stone cold sober, but add laughing gas into the mix?? hooo boy. he’s cycling from being so excited about everything he’s yelling, to crying from emotional stimulation, to laughing while crying because Kars’ hair is so beautiful and he’s never seen anything like it. also would be an awful patient when it comes to recovery, homeboy would NOT care about dry sockets😭

Wamuu would be one of those patients who lose fine motor skills when under. poor baby is just trying to pull the blanket up over his chest and smacks himself in the face with both hands. his hair is a mess and he’s just laying there zoned tf out on a bed that’s probably way too small for him, even if it was made by Kars. poor wham is MASSIVE. Kars would probably want to keep his teeth tho, and wham would oblige.

Santana would HAVE to be put completely under. this ankle biting mf would snap anyone’s hand or finger clean off and then absorb it like nothing. when he comes back around though, he’s super slow to come to his senses and, like Wham, really doesn’t have any fine motor control. he’s the reason hospitals give out “fall risk” bracelets after anaesthetic. yeah he fell on a table and absorbed the medical tools. someone please help the speedwagon foundation😭

Born October 25th (Scorpio) stands about 199 cm tall with the pillar mode of Psychokinesis, the ability to move things with her mind and enchantress like abilities. She is the Queen of her own pillar colony in northern Africa now known as Egypt in a sanctuary,she earned the nickname “Artemis the enchanted” from humans who sought to learn from her. She had two brothers but they’ve left and started their own families once their parents died and because she married Kars. Her and Kars relationship has a mutual understanding but he was far too obsessed with finding the stone to truly pay attention to her feelings. Before he left on his quest she fell pregnant gave birth while he was gone. Montero and Sza who were months apart. When he returned he apologized for his long absence and finally shows her the outside world but also used her to get back the stone from Lisa Lisa. Feeling betrayed she refused to help him any longer and decided to leave soon her colony advanced to its tribes she rules over ( Wakanda is my inspo). The great DeNile Ancestor is what she became. In a Au she ended up having four other children that was gradually raised by Kars too.

Selena Bia Rosa

Born April 9th ( aries) stands about 199cm tall and is the wife of Esidisi, her pillar mode is stone goddess which is the ability to harden her skin to that of stone. Her and Kars are natural enemies since the day they met as kids. She is the warrior of the tribe settled in Mexico and was supposed to become warrior chief like her dad was but when she returned home everyone was killed except for you young cousin Santana, little Wammu, her husband and Kars. Finding out they caused the massacre she was angry. Later down the line she met Normani and the two have been best friends ever since and Selena birthed Camila. She always warned Normani of how selfish Kars was. During BT she is unable to fight due to finding out once again she was pregnant with her sons Luis and Ozuna. She ends up leaving with Normani and became the leader of the mining tribe in the colony. She also found out about her brother continuing the Rosa lineage once she met her descendant Angelina Rosa.

Born in the month of February stands about 6’3, the love pillar. She is Queen Normani’s one and only trusted advisor in her royal court, has helped her rule when her parents passed and encouraged her to pursue a life of love and happiness with Kars and ensures her that she may have a few obstacles in the way but love will prevail. She most definitely the Cupid of the pillar men species and wise beyond her years, she dies palm readings to predict future love lives for others. She is able to grow winds on her back and has specialized arrows made of light that can affect the emotions of the person hit with them and regular arrows as well.

Cardi B

Born to the name Bacardi on October 11th is known as that Storm pillar. A royal from Normani’s court from a Nigerian and Dominican background but despite her cool atmospheric appearance she’s quite wild and loves a good fight. She enjoys to eat and indulges in drinking too. She fell in love with Wammu after realizing how calm and a honorable man he truly is. Her pillar mode allows her to control weather phenomena with a flick of her wrist and the pointing of her spear. She gained the nickname Oya after the storm goddess because she was just that good. She later down the lie before the events of Battle tendency had a son named TLC.

Cleopatra DeNile- Speedwagon

Daughter of Robert E.O. Speedwagon and Rosemary DeNile, her mother died giving birth to her leaving Speedwagon to raise her on his own until he met his husband Winston. She was born a Virgo on August 31st 1918 and as a little girl she never too hamon training seriously until she was sent to learn from Lisa Lisa. She has a crush on Caesar Zeppeli but jokes around too much to be taken seriously by him. She only found out recently about her pillar man ancestral connections when meeting Normani during the fight to achieve the stone. Once Speedwagon dies she runs the foundation alongside her husband Ceaser. She has more closer connections to my 21st century Denile linage.

What Makes Them Dangerous: Yandere Joseph Joestar

*Note: Here's Joseph's part of this. As I said in the previous post, I'll probably add more characters later, but this is all I have right now. I'm probably going to write some short blurbs for Tumblr for a bit until I get over this writer's block. I'm trying not to leave you guys hanging for too long.

Another yandere you’ll never suspect to be yandere in a million years, but even if you do, it won’t matter. Joseph is extremely clever. Sure, he may act like a muscle-brained moron or an overgrown child sometimes, but his cunning and wit are sharper than Kars’ arm blades. It’s really easy to write him off as a hopeless goofball when he’s whining about you ignoring him or getting into hamon-infused food fights with Caesar, but don’t be fooled. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He’ll use his goofball nature to endure himself to you. I mean, how can you say no to that blinding smile? If you make him sad he’ll pout like a toddler until you apologize and make it up to him. Joseph has a way of wearing you down by simply wearing you out. Dealing with this particular yandere will make you feel like an overworked single mother whose kid is going through the “terrible twos”. He’ll have you so exhausted and annoyed that you’ll give in just to get him to stop his childish antics. 

If that doesn’t work, he’ll revert to sabotage. Oh, you’re going out on a date with someone else? Not if he has anything to say about it! If he can’t convince you to change your mind about the date, he’ll follow you in secret and make sure you have the worst possible time imaginable. He’ll use Hamon, sleight of hand, his ties to the Speedwagon Foundation, bribery, intimidation, or whatever else he has at his disposal to ruin your date. All night long your date gets food dumped on him, wine and other drinks spilled all over his expensive suit, his car has four flat tires for no reason at all, and on top of it all a stray dog decides to use his leg as a toilet. By the end of the night, your date is so stressed and frustrated that he yells at you. Somehow he blames you for everything that happened to him and leaves you to walk home by yourself. Your eyes are blurred with tears so you don’t see who it is that you bump into while attempting the long walk home. You flinch, expecting to be yelled at again only to discover that it’s good ol’ JoJo. He always seems to be there when you need him. You’re so glad to see a friendly face that you don’t even question what he’s doing on this side of town. You tell him all about your terrible date and he decides to cheer you up by taking you on a date to his favorite Italian restaurant. Have you ever had squid ink spaghetti? No? Yeah, it sounds gross, but trust him, it’s the best thing you’ll ever eat!

He’ll wine and dine you and you’ll have so much fun with him that you’ll forget all about how badly your date went. Before long, you won’t even think of dating anyone other than JoJo. At number 10 we have Koichi!; so my reason for putting koichi at 10 is because he didn't really give me enough personality other than screaming at my ears but he's a good little munchkin :D

Dual Trip

Holly doesn’t call Joseph when Jotaro locks himself in jail. Because of this, Jotaro, Kakyoin and eventually Polnareff end up traveling to Egypt by themselves, and at the same time Joseph is on a war path because he thinks Kakyoin kidnapped his grandson and is accompanied by Avdol and Iggy. The rest of the parts follow similar “protagonist groups are split up and they don’t realise it” vibes

Void Space

Joseph dies during the final fight with Kars and Caesar barely survives. As such, Caesar now has to deal with all of the absolute INSANITY that the Joestar Family deal with later down the line

Glitch Nonsense

Jojo’s has Video Game Physics when it comes to glitches in the world and everyone just treats it as normal

Star Swap

All the Joestars get mixed around and end up having to go through the other’s adventures. Jonathan swaps with Jolyne, Joseph swaps with Giorno, and Jotaro swaps with Josuke

Kakyoin Noriaki, shout-out to my boy Kakyoin!!! I LOVE a complex character, and boy is he ever complex. Former brainwashed assassin turned comrade turned friend, he's 17 years old and reserved but bold and comes off as effeminate/unsure but is truly rather blunt and headstrong. He's an honors student AND spends hundreds of hours on video games. He's an artist and he's into sumo wrestling. He's out for revenge on the guy who brainwashed him because he hates himself for being weak enough to fall for it. No one is doing it like Kakyoin <333

7: how does the story compare to your initial impressions of it? has it surprised you yet? how?

YES, it has surprised me often! For instance, I didn't know that JJBA had fantasy elements at all, so it surprised me immensely when Dio Brando used an ancient artifact to unlock The Full Potential Of The Human Brain and it turned out that The Full Potential Of The Human Brain is to. become a vampire.

I love all the stupid pseudoscience <333 the sillier the better, and boy does JJBA get silly. For instance, Kars gains ALL THE POWERS OF THE ANIMAL KINGDOM, including feathers with oil that deflects bullets. No explanation for that; just "his feathers have bullet-deflecting oil so shooting him with this warplane doesn't work". legendary. JJBA always commits 120% to its bit.

Dio Brando gets adopted into the Joestar family and decides to return the favor by causing problems for them FOREVER. unfortunately for him, however, he chose the buffest, tricksiest, loyalest, most fashionable, and most magically gifted family of all time.

Notable characters include REO Speedwagon, a hardened criminal turned bff 4ever; Caesar Zeppeli, an arrogant flirt turned bff 4ever; Kakyoin Noriaki, the aforementioned assassin turned bff 4ever; Hol Horse, a cowardly cowboy; and terrifying villains such as Vanilla Ice, a loathesome vampire; Red Hot Chili Pepper, a serial killer made of electricity (all my homies hate Red Hot Chili Pepper); and of course, my best beloved "Wham", a 10,000 year old supervampire who invented vampire horses.

Araki knows how to write female characters? I barely see him and Oda in mentions of their female characters in manga discourses when it comes to good female characters.

Warning: Long text SA mentions, little spoilers from Jojolion.

Uh that's a good one, honestly both Oda and Araki fall into the same issue about it but when they cook, they cook (or at least is what I have noticed from Oda, since I'm in 305 chapter of One Piece, so I can't tell you how much he fails or gets better).

Let's start with Araki, In general, there are never mentions of Jojo in the tops or compilations of good aspects of some Mangas, better protagonists, best character designs, etc. Because still people refuse to see Jojos in any serious way (okay, Jojo isn't 100% serious, it's bizarre) and others refuse to watch it because of its art style.

That said, Araki fails miserably with female character during part 1-4.

He fails but not in the bad way like only uses their female characters for fanservice, but as useless or from background or encourage male protagonists.

Erina and Lisa Lisa are maybe the exceptions, but again fails, Araki was clear that Erina was Jonathan's love interest and at the same time played with the dynamics, giving Speedwagon the role that in theory should have been Erina since that role was given to the women who were the girlfriends of the protagonist, he already did Gorgeous Irene as a protagonist and fighter, why didn't he gave Erina more role if he wanted to change the roles in his story? Because he wasn't that great at times, same with Lisa Lisa, looks like an attempt to have a strong character with more than a role than just a lover, but fails miserably at the end, giving Joseph all the attention instead of a fight between both Lisa Lisa and Joseph vs Kars, sucks because he gave more of that chance towards a N@zi 💀. I'm not even going to elaborate on part 3 bc it's too obvious.

Part 4, even tho has more female characters, none of them has relevance. Yukako was totally wasted, like her only role was to be a simp for Koichi, she didn't help at all. Reimi just was like a storyteller to give context towards the protagonists rather than useful character, of course even her own trauma is just there, same with Tomoko and Shinobu. Basically all pawns to fulfill or help the male characters.

Now, being a little fair, Araki fucked off the same with male characters, specially in part 4 and 5, but come on, even the Hazamada guy had more screen time than Tomoko and Araki just left her there to be completely in love with Joseph and for what? 😭 That sucks and it's sad.

In part 7 and 8, we actually have more good side characters, but again most of them wasted, literally Jojolion has more female characters than in stone ocean and yet Yasuho is the only one with importance.

Now the fanservice, what can I say? At this point is impossible to escape from it, only Metal alchemist and Attack on titan didn't and is oh so wonderful🥰, also Araki didn't with Jolyne so I'll take that as an apology from what he did to other female characters, lol.

And finally with that issues about SA scenes and mentions, the thing is that with Lucy, Trish or Dragona (probably they aren't a she, tho but let's count them.) seems more like a thing that happens a lot due to the context, specially with Lucy. Like real life issues that Araki has show up with other characters.

My problem is with Yasuho, like okay, she is vulnerable as every other woman, but some of the contexts she wents through are more implied in a funny context and it's something I dislike a lot, like that time Joshu almost rapes her, the touches that Tsurugi gives to her are so icky (I know he is a kid, but that doesn't make it any less creepy, Emporio was also a kid and didn't do that weird shit to Jolyne).

That's my only complain, uh I can see why ppl gets annoyed or disgusted with Lucy or Dragona SA situations and I understand it, but also saying that they have to gain some kind of lesson or something good from it is pathetic as if SA situations are only for that when in real life you only get trauma, not some kind of development. Perhaps, if there should be a Pov about their feelings and fears, how is going through SA and how affects the characters and their mechanisms to protect themselves, but okay I can ask for much in a Shonen manga when fights and powers are more relevant ig:/

As I said when Araki wants, he can cook a good female character like Jolyne, Lucy, Yasuho, Kaato, Trish and Mitsuba. This doesn't mean that other minors female characters are bad, just wasted. The only I mentioned some of them doesn't have great impact but with the role they get they make it work.

Now with Oda, his issue is about the way he draws female character, lots of fanservice and the anime doesn't help. At least Araki gives more different looks on his characters, Oda doesn't, lol. Must of them have the same face as Nami, and again due to the fanservice and how long One piece is, ppl don't take it seriously, another issue is that even though there's incredible powerful females, they're never enough as good as the males, even the only female character that was better than Zoro died 😭. Now that I think about it, Araki hasn't give this powerful stands to his female characters, not as powerful as GER or C-moon type.

Returning with the one piece, as far as I can see Oda actually writes good female characters! Nami and Robin are simply incredible, and as far as I know big mom is also a wonderful and good well character.

For me, Nami and Jolyne are one of the most stronger female characters in the Manga and media, next to Maki from Jujutsu no kaisen and Korra from avatar.
