i do hope to someday join some sort of initiative to decolonize the dog fancy. some of it is just inherently colonial tho. A lot of those cute small breeds (my favs) were initially the result of colonialism. but i dont think we'd need to throw out the whole damn breed or anything. maybe just be more mindful of their history and sugar coat it a bit less.. obviously have not done any particular reading about this or really engaged with the subject much beyond thinking about it, but if i do ever breed dogs it's something I'd want to center more in my ethos

On the outside he may seem serious, short spoken and downright intimidating (being 210 cm/around 6’10” tall without the ears), but on the inside he has a soft spot for human souls. He’s very kind to them and hates when they’re scared of him (especially the souls of children).

- In case it’s not legible, he’s a Xoloitzcuintle, which is a Mexican breed of dog that in Aztec mythology would guide souls to the Mictlán (the Underworld).
