Rino Gaetano (Crotone, 29 October 1950 – Rome, 2 June 1981) was an Italian musician and singer-songwriter who was born in Crotone, Calabria.

In March 1960, at the age of ten, his family moved to Rome, where he would spend the rest of his life.

He is famous for his satirical songs and oblique yet incisive political commentary. He is remembered for his raspy voice, for the heavily ironic lyrics of his songs and his social protests. He died in a car accident at age 30. He was a popular and influential figure, widely re-evaluated by the following teen generations.

Success for Gaetano came the following year with the 45 rpm hit record Ma il cielo è sempre più blu ("But the sky is always bluer"), perhaps now the most famous and instantly recognisable of his songs. Unusually, the 45 contained only one song, but it was split into two. In this song Gaetano offers several pictures of everyday life, with irony, clichés and contradictions, citing also his hometown Calabria.

My friends are going to SIU and I was wondering where would be cool places to hang out when I visit them

Ok, you came to the right place!

Sadly, things have changed regarding bars since I went to SIU. But there's still Trax, LEVELS, and Hangar 9.

Now, Carbondale has some of the best pizza in the region. You have Quatros, Pagliai's, Italian Village and Primo's... I have just been told that Primo's has closed down. You also have excellent Mexican places like Don Taco. There are also cafes like Common Grounds, Harbaugh's, and Mary Lou's. The latter is your standard southern rural diner.

Since your friends go to SIU, there's also a good chance you'll spend some time in the Student Center. it's a cool place. There's a bookstore, a Starbucks, a bowling alley, a Subway and an a la carte cafeteria.

Of course, you should also go to a Saluki football or basketball game, depending on when you go.

RC On the Go is a collaborative program we organize to provide Rainbow Cafe social drop-in youth services to places outside of our main Carbondale location - such as our amazing partners Arrowleaf for Anna in Union County and now The Stress & Trauma Treatment Center to provide those same services in Benton and Franklin County!

It's completely free - so stop by for a safe and welcoming space to hang out with other LGBTQIA+ young people in your area! Anna's location is every first Tuesday from 3:30-5:30 PM, and Benton will be every first Wednesday from 3-5 PM. We'll see you there!

I already talk REALLY FAST (like really fast, like multiple people have had to ask me to slow down frequently or just can't understand me anyway [especially when it's paired with the accent]) but being southern only makes it worse because we like to slam words together and make new words so we can say more with less XD

EXAMPLE: "Y'all'd've" (pronounced yal-dove) AKA "you all would have". In a sentence: "I know y'all'd've done it!!"

Anyway I should totes make a southern dialect meme lmao
