❝ You’re dripping already. ❞ Nilza
@southern-belle-outcasts
Oh god. Cass could feel the tension building, even before Nilza had touched her. It wasn't her fault that her girlfriend knew exactly what to say to get her worked up. Words were a foreplay all their own when used properly...
By the time they'd gotten back to Cass's place (a drive that took far too long- had Nilza taken the long way back? It certainly felt like it), Cass could hardly contain herself. Nilza entered first and Cassia kicked the door shut behind herself once she had followed inside. It took only a few short seconds between the sound of the door slamming shut (she'd kicked it too hard- oops) and Cass pinning Nil against the nearest wall to kiss her. Rough. Hungry. But that didn't mean she was in control, as much as a part of her wanted to be. No. She might have Nilza pinned, but Nilza knew how to make her beg if she really wanted to.
Cass pulled back from the kiss just slightly when she felt Nilza's fingers brush against the wet spot on her panties. She felt so sensitive already- pent up. Needy. It hadn't helped that they'd been apart the last week while Cass was away, and she always felt a little extra desperate for Nil after time apart.
She let out the softest moan as Nil touched her through the fabric, Cass rocking her hips just slightly against her girlfriend's hand.
"You're dripping already."
"Something tells me that's what you were aiming for," Cass quipped back, a little smirk on her lips. She let one hand move to Nilza's chest, softly groped at her breast, thumb brushing against the nipple ring beneath the fabric. "I think we've got a lot of lost time to make up for..." She purred, leaning in to kiss her again, this time more slowly, though not without that same hunger from before. "Which toy do you wanna start with? Or maybe you wanna fuck me with your fingers, first?" Whatever they did, it was gonna be a long night. It usually was after they'd spent some time apart. And Cass wouldn't have it any other way.

Cass being able to help reverse curses.
Cass being able to place protection charms on items.
Cass (usually, not always) being able to sense when something is about to go very wrong.
Cass being able to fully heal minor injuries and heal larger ones enough to pull the severely injured back from what could have been something deadly.
Cass making potions- things to help with pain. To help you sleep. To help cleanse someone of bad omens / bad vibes. To give someone peace when they need it. Or to bring ill unto others, to kill or maim if need be.
Cass with the knowledge to help banish spirits / demons, even to call them forth for nefarious deeds if she really wanted to (calling them forth and controlling them, however, are two very different things).
Cass not being the strongest magic user, but being able to feel when magic is present in people, places, objects, and using that to her advantage when searching for something / trying to avoid magic laced "traps".
Cass being able to manipulate emotions (either when she has her own properly in check or, on accident, when she's overwhelmed and projecting her own on others)- soothing others of their fear / frustrations / hurt or using it to strike unrelenting terror in enemies.
Cass, though she generally refuses to use it, having the ability to alter memories. Erase them if need be. To stitch together a new narrative or leave gaps to make them forget she was ever there.
Cass with the option to manipulate a person with her words, to get them to do her bidding if she so chooses.
Cass as a stronger witch than she makes obvious, but whom also generally refuses to use her magic to cause harm unless she has no other choice. Because even if she has the knowledge and the ability to do something cruel, she sees no reason to do so. Why would you choose to harm others when you could use your gift for good, instead?
#( what if we rewrite the stars ⋆。°✩ ) about#((WHAT I'M SAYING IS: Cassia is a LOT more capable than she lets on. She generally just CHOOSES not to use her abilities#for anything other than healing / gently coaxing others into better moods / easing nightmares.#Like... she's the kind of witch you think you can't rely on to go do something dangerous with you because like#the last thing you want is some damsel in distress kinda situation right?#But then you DO take her with you and that's SO far from what she is. She's smart and she's powerful and she knows what she's doing.#All this because I'm re-reading a reply right now where Cass is getting to go artifact hunting and I need more adventures for her xD#I know I said that a while back too but it's TRUE. Drag her along places. Give her a reason to use her magic.))

When Eliasz took a step forward, so did Cassia. If he thought this was about her wanting to leave him, then he'd misunderstood. She knew he couldn't promise her anything- he couldn't see the future. Even a seer like her mother could only see the possibilities, not what was for certain. Cass reached out to place her hands on his chest, took one more step closer. "That's not what this is about," She assured him, not wanting him to think she wanted to end things. That was so far from what she wanted. "I love you. So much..." Gently, she slipped her left hand up to rest against his cheek. "I just... I'm worried I won't be enough for you." A quiet admittance. He hadn't done anything to make her feel like she wasn't enough, but it had happened almost every time before- with relationships, with family, with friends. She always felt like she fell short of their expectations. What if she did the same with him? What if someday he looked at her and realized she wasn't enough for him? Maybe it was stupid to be worrying about it right now but... "I had this dream last night that you left and I..." She started, hoping that would explain the sudden worry she felt. "I don't need you to promise me forever. I know you can't," There could be no true promises about the future, she knew that. "But please... promise me that if I mess up, or if you start to lose interest... you'll tell me how I might be able to fix it?" Of course, even that came with no guarantee it would work, that he would still love her if she made too big of a mistake or if his feelings for her started to slip away. But should that ever happen, she wanted to try to make things better. She wanted him to be able to talk to her, to tell her if things changed. It might not be something they needed to worry about now, but who knew what a year, two, ten, from now might hold. She wanted to be sure that line of communication was open now so that if it ever came to that... well, they could work on trying to fix things together.

“You say you love me right now but what if one day, you just… Stop? What do I do then?”
“I could pretend and say I know what would happen in the future Cass, but when in reality I can only promise you what’s in the present and now.” Eli explained stepping forward knowing well enough. That Eliasz couldn’t promise anything to Cass about the future. “I can promise I won’t stop loving you Cass but if you don’t want me around anymore I’ll understand.” Eli breathes deeply waiting for Cass to say something.

I really think "magic is addictive and the more it aligns with your own inner desires/struggles, the worse it affects you" is such an underrated idea, and I need like a million stories with it.

"Do you think the stars can see us?" - Aaron
@dhampiravidi

Cass paused at the question, giving a thoughtful hum. The sky was so clear tonight, the wind warm as it brushed over them. They were outside on her front porch, waiting for Tyler and the others to show up- it was D&D night but they'd had to move the session elsewhere this weekend. Cass had offered her place since her dad was out of town.
"No..." She finally answered. "But I think they can feel us." It may have sounded odd, but it felt like the truth to her. When she closed her eyes, she swore she could hear them calling. "We're all connected- the same dust that forms them forms us. If you sit with that for a minute in silence, let it wash over you... you can almost hear the entire universe humming in unison." Or maybe that was just her. But her mother had taught her from a young age to feel and hear everything- the way the grass shifted beneath her feet, the chorus of the wind whisking sea salt off the ocean. And the sun reaching out with lashing whips of fire. The stars as they searched blindly for each other in the ever expanding sky. It was all a symphony of movement and sound and each little piece of it from the beginning of time had lead them to be right here, right now. One less star in the sky or one more grain of sand on the ocean floor, and things would be entirely different. It was a delicate balance. The future was ever shifting.
"Sorry. That sounds stupid..." She laughed softly, a bit embarrassed. "But it's all really cool, how important each little thing is to putting us in this spot right now. Every little thing is intertwined."

"What did they do to you?" Nilza
@southern-belle-outcasts
She'd been warned about people like that her whole life. Hunters. Not quite like Nilza. No. (Cass had been terrified, at first, when she'd learned what Nilza was, afraid that she'd turn on her, try to hurt her when she learned of Cass's powers. But that hadn't been the case, even if she'd stayed wary of Nil for a month or two thereafter.) These people hunted witches like her, people with abilities considered "unnatural", even if they were doing nothing wrong. Just trying to live their lives like Cass was. And they knew how to keep the magic at bay. A young witch like Cass whose powers were not only non-aggressive, but still not anywhere near their peak? Well, she stood little chance when they came for her.
It had been her own fault for not being careful, though. A little injured bird in the park, unable to fly. Cass had scooped it up in her hands, healed the little one, and let it go. She hadn't thought she'd been seen. It had been just over a week since then- 8 days, to be precise. And a day later...
Nilza had probably worried when Cass had suddenly gone silent, stopped calling or texting or coming home. Her father had worried, too, had assisted in locating her. Had even helped Nilza to reach her. But it was Nilza whom she was at home with right now. Her father had stuck around the first two nights but he was gone now. It was not by his own choice, but by Cass's- she loved her father, but she wanted to be alone. Wanted silence. Nilza wasn't leaving her side, though, and it was only that knowledge that had finally convinced her father it was okay to leave. She wouldn't by herself. She'd have Nil.
But despite being on day three since she'd come home, Cass still had yet to offer to talk about it. Each small nudge had been met with push back or a simple shake of the head. She'd hardly spoken. Hardly eaten. She left bed only when necessary, but she'd had yet to go outside. She seemed to feel quite content to wither away.
Nilza sat at the edge of the bed but Cass didn't look at her. Her eyes were open but unfocused, gazing somewhere in the distance... or, in reality, at the bit of wall level with her line of sight.
"What did they do to you?"
The words settled ill in her stomach and Cass felt like she might throw up. She curled in on herself just a bit more, but she didn't offer an answer. Not at first, anyway. A minute passed. Maybe two. Or three. And Nilza finally stood up again, apparently prepared to leave her be. It was that that got Cass to speak- the realization that if she said nothing, Nilza would leave the room and she'd be alone again.
"I don't... I don't remember it very well..." She finally admitted, her voice small. "It's fuzzy and faded. Like when you erase pencil marks from the page but the ghost of the letters are still there..."
She still didn't look Nilza's way, kept her eyes on that same spot on the wall. "I don't know what they did..." It hurt like hell, though. Again and again and again. She could remember sobbing. She could remember screaming. She could remember the aching. But she couldn't remember each individual thing. Not how she got the bruises or the cuts or the burns. Not why her fingertips had been stained black down to the first knuckle.
"I can't feel it, though..." A whisper, nearly a whimper. "There's a... a void..." She brought a shaky hand to her face, rubbed her eyes dry of tears that wouldn't come. "Whatever they did..." Whatever hell they'd put her through that she couldn't fully recall "I can't feel my magic anymore. It's... it's just gone..." And with it gone, not even the echo of it still lingering, she felt like a piece of herself was gone, too. "I can't feel it at all. Not... not a single thread..." Her heart beat felt too loud, drumming in her ears. "What if I never get it back?"
