Ok so I don’t know anything about Touhou, right. Like I usually recognize when a character is Probably From Touhou, because they tend to look a certain way, but the only character I can actually recognize and name is Cirno just because she used to pop up frequently in Marx’s tags when I was a child first learning how to look for Kirby fanart on Pixiv dot com and I was really mad about it.

Anyways the other thing I know about Touhou, I guess, or at least tangentially? Is the genre of youtube videos that usually have “Yukkuri” in their title and are narrated with TTS voices that I guess are supposed to represent specific Touhou characters. Sometimes they’re in the thumbnail but I don’t know who they are because they’re not Cirno. I’ve never been very fond of the TTS voices because they’re hard to parse so I’ve never really interacted much with these videos. Until now.

Bc the YouTuber doing these Minecraft lets plays that I’ve been hooked on does them in this style. And it’s been some kind of experience I guess trying to parse which references are supposed to be about the Touhou Lore and what’s actually referencing information from this specific youtuber’s Greater Minecraft Fiction. There are three TTS voices in these series and I don’t know who any of them are supposed to be. I’ve managed to figure out, after going back to their very first season and watching probably close to 20 hours of their Minecraft videos, that when they call the Player Character “President” that’s Minecraft Lore and not Touhou Lore. One time one of them made a reference to one of them being a vampire, which seems to be Touhou Lore because there were never any vampires in their Minecraft series. I don’t Fucking Know.

Cannot stress enough I also just don’t know which characters these are anyways so I can’t even like look it up even if I wanted to. I saw a tumblr post about Touhou the other day mentioning a “Marisa”. I recognize this name. I heard one of the TTS voices say it, like, maybe twice across all ~20 hours of Minecraft videos. They don’t ever fucking say each other’s names. Who the fuck are they. It doesn’t even matter anyways, because I don’t really care about Touhou. This youtuber’s editing and commentating style has managed to utterly captivate my finicky attention span, and that’s wonderful. I’m having a great time. When is the next video dropping

Fun news! My mod just got its first ever contribution from someone other than me! Specifically, a Simplified Chinese translation that seems pretty complete! They even translated the (rather long) guide book!!

I'm really excited about this. The idea someone would like my thing enough to add onto it through their own effort is awesome.

The amount of adults in this famdom attacking minors over opinions is INSANE. Me, and another have suffered ruthless hate from these people and no one has pointed or called them out except ONE. Honestly, this is some well-deserved criticism, and it isn't against the rules. You are not purposefully inciting drama, you're standing up for yourself, Anon. I'm proud of you for speaking up about the problem. It sucks how awful people can be.

As I have mentioned a few times now, it is not okay to attack people over their opinions on things like this. It is alright to disagree. It is alright to civilly discuss your opinions on things. It is an even better idea to simply ignore people.

Many headcanons and ships that are confessed on my blog are ones that I disagree with. Some I downright dislike. However, so long as it follows the rules that I set for this page, it still gets posted. Because at the end of the day, it is night, and we all like the same game, and we are all people. I respect them as a fellow human being. They have as much a right to express their opinions as I do.

MCSM is rated for ages 10 and older. Of course there will be minors in the fandom. There is no need to beef with children (or anyone, for that matter) over their opinions on characters in a game about cube people learning the power of friendship.

It costs nothing to scroll past the headcanons you disagree with. You can even block the tag or even the person who posted it if you want to. But don't start insulting each other over it.

vanilla or modded minecraft?

happy new year to you as well!!! :DDD personally, i like to play vanilla and modded. I think both have their perks. Vanilla minecraft is easy to set up and use, and it has it's charms too. While Mojang hasn't added the most banger stuff recently [i recall many people complaining about how the recent updates feel disconnected from the actual minecraft world itself], they're still doing a decent job with the game I think. I like the simplicity of it, and it reminds me of when I used to just play the absolute heck out of it on my xbox 360 and xbox 1 :) I think the main downfall vanilla has is not only the divide across the two main versions (java and bedrock) in many ways, but also the fact there's not things like mixing slabs together and vertical stairs + sideways trapdoors in vanilla minecraft. they said they wouldn't do vertical slabs because it 'limits creativity' [i severely doubt that], but they could atleast allow me to place stairs sideways and also be able to use trapdoors as shutters properly.

also the fact bedrock has armourstands with built-in arms and can undye and redye stuff with cauldrons makes me sad and i wish java had that.

Modded minecraft is great because I can add 500 mods and have my computer explode. However it's pitfall is that sometimes the mods are very picky and it can take a long while to even get them consistently loading up without issues (like wrong versions of dependencies, which is annoying to go back in and fix), and sometimes it gets stuck on the loading screen because you didn't allot it enough RAM to be able to exist which is also annoying. But i like the sheer amount of mods it has, especially things like furniture and building mods. I like going into creative mode and messing around and building cute builds with them, it makes me happy. I also like Shaders, and mods like MCA [Minecraft Comes Alive], DGT [Doggy Got Talents], and more QOL ones like JEI, Jade, and Xaero's minimap mods. And so much more! The amount of creativity and passion that goes into the mods, no matter how small, is what makes them great to me.
