“it’s raining.”
your voice catches him off guard — it's hoarse and meek like he has seen just a few times before. isagi supposes it’s better than the suffocating silence that was coating your living room for quite a while now, but he hates the sad undertones of his favorite melody.
confused, he turns to look at the window, only to see the sky in a pretty baby blue color. there are a few clouds scattered around, but none of them is gray, instead being a fluffy white that reminds him a lot of cotton candy. lastly, the sun shines and spreads its scorching heat through the town. there’s no indication that it’s raining whatsoever.
“baby,” he starts, a bit hesitant. “it’s sunny.”
you’re not looking at him. your eyes are out of focus, staring at something that only you can see, and his heart breaks a little at the sight. that’s probably why he scoots closer to you, his arm circling your shoulder until your head gently lays on his clavicle. your skin feels cold to the touch, and he starts to rub your arm.
“are you cold?” he asks, kind as always.
you nod. “i’m cold. it’s raining, yoichi.”
he furrows his eyebrows. maybe he looked at the wrong side of the window? or maybe it was those small summer drizzles? but he was absolutely positive there was no water falling from the sky. was he going crazy?
your shoulders hunch like the weight you carry is getting more unbearable by the second. you sigh, exhaling a long puff of air that screams how tired you are. isagi swears you tremble a little.
“are you okay?” he can’t help but inquire, thinking your behavior is odd. “i’m sorry, sweetie, but i’m sure it’s not raining. the sky is crystal clear.”
and then you turn to face him for the first time, and yoichi’s breath gets stuck in his throat. he has never seen your expression so hollow, so defeated. like you’ve been trying to fight countless battles only to end up losing the war.
“it’s raining, yoichi… it’s raining inside of me.” your voice fails, but he hears you nonetheless. his chest squeezes at the tears accumulating on your lash line, and his arm hugs you a little tighter. “please, make it stop.”
he wishes he could. isagi hated to see you sad or in pain, and if he could scoop these unpleasant feelings out of you, he would do it in a heartbeat. he would do anything to see you smiling again at him, or singing softly while cooking, or feeling content watching your favorite show on netflix. truthfully, he would do anything for you.
“did something happen?” he needs to know. did someone hurt you?
“no, i just… i’m so tired,” you answer, and he can feel your exhaustion on his own bones. he can only wonder what it feels like to be in your body right now. “so, so tired. i can’t take it anymore. it keeps raining inside of me and it’s like i can’t bring the sun again.”
oh. it was one of your bad days, yoichi realizes. he just took a bit longer to understand because you never actually used a rain metaphor to describe your feelings, but maybe that was the way you found to cope with them. and who was he to not indulge you?
he calmly pulls his arm off you and stands up, patting his clothes before going inside the house. you watch with curious eyes, slightly confused by his lack of words and sudden movement, and they widen when you spot your boyfriend coming back with a yellow umbrella in hand, smiling sweetly.
he takes his place next to you, swiftly opening the umbrella and putting it above your heads. and he stares at you like you are nothing but the sun, and not a confusing rainstorm that could wreak havoc and destroy everything on your way.
“there you go! now we’re protected from the rain.”
your mouth is slightly agape — although you expected to be comforted somehow (because yoichi never failed to do so), that was not what you had in mind.
but he’s just like this, you think. always kind and loving, doing his best so that you are comfortable and never, ever scared of showing yourself and how you truly felt. every time he did these little things, it was like he was saying trust me, i won’t  judge you.
the tears fall, but they don’t feel like rain. not anymore.
“yeah,” you say, smiling faintly for the first time. “yeah, we are.”
his gaze is fond, and his fingers tenderly wipe your cheeks to stop your crying. it’s soothing and grounding, but again, yoichi always is. with a smile, he cups your jaw, and, when his face grows closer to yours, you don’t think twice before connecting your lips.
the love you feel for him pours from your heart until is all you can sense, and suddenly, the sky is clear again. there is just you and him, and he’s kissing you, and maybe, just maybe, the world isn’t so bad if you can have isagi yoichi to yourself like this.
when you part, his whisper feels like a lifeline, “i’m here with you, baby.”
his hand finds yours, and your fingers interlace.
“even when it rains.”

relationship(s) valeria x reader
Tumblr media
Valeria walked in to see you hunched over throwing clothes all around the room.
"What are you doing?"
You spare a glance towards her figure in the door before returning to your nest-like pile.
"I can't find that outfit you bought me for this event."
Your stomach flip-flopped as you heard her heels clack against the wood of your floor.
"Where did you last have it?"
She couched down next to you and lifted a wrinkled shirt that she had bought you a few years ago.
"Does this even still fit you? I got this when we first started dating."
You shrug and flop onto your back with an annoyed groan.
"I can't find it, Valeria, I'm sorry."
She tsk and stood.
"Lovely, have you checked in my closet?"
You look over at her with a frown.
"Why would it be in there? Isn't that the whole reason you made sure I had my own closet when we got married? So I wouldn't take up space in yours?"
She smoothed the pants to her suit out and nodded.
"True, that is why. But, I know you lovely. You'd lose your head if it wasn't attached to your shoulders."
You watched her red bottoms take her to her closet. She swung open the door and walked inside. She emerged a few moments later with a white dress bag. You sat up with a smile.
"You found it!"
Standing you shifted through your clothes and over to her. Going to take the bag from her hands and moved it slightly out of your way.
"Promise me you won't wrinkle it, this is an important moment tonight. We're meeting a new client, he's from the United States and we have to make a good impression."
You nod and smile holding out your arms instead of going in for another grab.
"Good."
She places the bag on your arms before leaning in for a gentle kiss against your cheek. Pinching your butt she mumbles in your ear.
"Go and get all pretty for me. I'll check in on you in five."
You feel heat rush to your cheeks as you giggle.
"Yes ma'am."
She hums in approval and closes your door with a soft click, her heels muffled by the carpet leading down the hallway. You walk into the bathroom and remove the bag from your suit, one that matched with hers.
"A couple like us needs to match, show everyone here that two is better than one." Her voice echos in your head.
Stripping you gently button the dress shirt first, white to match her black. Fixing it into your dress pants, the next step was the tight-fitting best which buttoned much like the shirt before it. The matching black blazer slipped snugly over your shoulders and you decided to leave it open.
"Valeria doesn't know what she's talking about, an open top looks just as good."
You checked yourself in the mirror and smiled. You looked great. A knock at the door and then it was swinging open. Valeria stood there as the yang to your ying.
You smiled up at her and you spun for her. "How does it look?"
She hummed and walked over inspecting your outfit closely. She took a strand of your hair in her hand and shook her head.
"Your hair needs to be done."
She reached under the sink and grabbed a few containers and bottles of product and lined them up in front of you.
"Use these to style. I have a quick meeting I need to attend, I'll come back to check on you after."
She placed a gentle kiss against your lips before walking out. You pouted but got to work. It took a while but eventually, you got your hair to style exactly how you pictured it. All those years besides Valeria paying off.
You went to open the door when you hear her heels announcing her arrival. You take a step back as the handle turns. She tilts her head when she catches you standing there. A small smile tugs at her lips when she takes in your sight.
"Perfect."
She picks a fluffy off your shoulder before placing a kiss against the top of your nose.
"Ready? He's just arrived."
You smile and link your arm with hers.
"Always."
You walk alongside her as she guides you through the corridor that leads from the private section of your home to the more open layout of your shared living space. Smiling you greet the people around you. You straightened your walk as you came upon the man Valeria was speaking about.
He was handsome, with dark hair and even darker eyes. He turned from the woman whom he was whispering intently to when he heard Valeria's heels stop in front of him.
"Valeria." She stated simply extending her hand to him.
He gently took it and placed his lips on the back of it. You watched as an expression of disgust crossed her eyes. Her smile stayed plastered on her face.
"And this is my life partner."
You smile and the man and bow your head. Your hand snaked around Valeria's bicep trying everything to keep from having his lips on your hand. You realized your plan wouldn't work when you felt a pinch at your wrist. You quickly extended your hand and introduced yourself
"Wonderful to meet you, sir."
He placed a kiss against your hand and you realized why Valeria looked so disgusted. He didn't close his mouth. It took everything in you not to gag loudly. Instead you just discreetly wiped the back of your hand against the leg of your suit.
"So, where would you like to discuss my offer?"
Valeria gestured around the room.
"Right here, of course, need to be in my men's line of sight at all times, and don't worry about eavesdropping. Every single person in this room is in my back pocket."
Her voice dropped at that last sentence a knowing smile crossing her lips. The man in front of you looked around nervously before whispering something to the woman from before. You released your grip on Valeria and she led the man to a couch in a less crowded part of the room. When the woman started to follow you stopped her.
"Excuse you."
Her voice was high with worry and you just smiled.
"Don't worry, Valeria won't harm him in here. You need to stay with me or else neither of you will be making your flight tomorrow. You're flying out at 4 am, right? Trying to get an early start in case the deal goes sideways, huh?"
You led her away and over to the snack table. Nodding and trading pleasantries with the other guests at the table. She looked in your direction, terror filling her eyes.
"Are you new here? Third wife?"
You pointed at the ring on her finger, the rock was huge.
"How did you know?"
Her voice stayed the same in pitch but lowered in tone to a whisper.
"I've met plenty of women like you, marrying rich not realizing just how your husband got that way."
You picked up a few of the less messy items and handed her the plate.
"Go ahead, eat and act happy. Trust me it makes everything better."
You made up your plate of the same items.
"What about you? Which one are you?"
She stayed right on your heels as you sat on a loveseat a few feet from Valeria and the man.
"First and only, we have a deal. We'll kill the other before getting a divorce."
Your smile was wide and she couldn't tell if you were being serious or not. You didn't quell her questioning thought and instead took a bit out of the small cake that rested squarely on your plate.
"Don't look over at them, we're the trophies right now."
You finished off the last bit of your cake before moving on. She followed your instructions, and the order you were eating in. After a few more hours of explaining her job at these types of parties and getting to know each other, she seemed genuinely happy by the time her husband walked over.
"May I?"
You looked over at the woman and smiled, she seemed to read your eyes and sighed in relief. Everything went well.
"Of course." You gesture for the woman to join her husband and he whisks her off into the crowd.
"How did it go?"
"She's the third wife, her name is Sara Reed and she lives at 17261 Allan Avenue in Naples, Flordia. She is still very close with her mother and sister, she never mentioned her father."
"You did good lovely."
You smiled and waved to the woman when she looked over at you. Valeria gently rubbed her thumb over your cheek, and you gave her a lovesick grin. The gentle pets the furthest she will go in public. Each one is a reminder of how much she loves you.

Signs and Secrets (Andrew DeLuca x Alex Karev's Sister Imagine)
Previous Part Here
Tumblr media
Age Rating: 12+
Fandom: Grey’s Anatomy
Chapters: Two of Two
AN: Hey guys so I had to rearrange my posts which means deleting the first draft of this and reposting it. I'm still on the fence on whether I should change my fancast to Victoria Pedretti. Your opinion matters and the poll will be up for the next five days so if you haven't voted hurry and click!
Summary: Amber works at the clinic when a roller coaster crashed while her intern friends gossip and speculate over who she’s dating.
Words: 3781
After about 3 hours with Darcy we were able to confirm she had a badly bruised spine but not torn. We explained this to Darcy and her parents in the patient room where we moved her and fitted her with a spinal halo. Her dad is deaf and her mom is hearing and are by her side anxious over her diagnosis.
“The good news is that her spine is intact.” Andrew explains as Jerry interprets for them, “The MRI showed no visible injury and the exam went great. Her spinal cord is badly bruised though due to the stampede and she’ll need physical therapy to regain full function.”
“For how long?” The dad asks and Jerry interprets.
“We would need our chief of neuro Dr. Shepherd to confirm but all in all it looks like she’ll regain strength over the next few days and in a couple of weeks she should be back on her feet and ride that rollercoaster in no time.”
Darcy signs no, “At this point I’ll settle for a night in watching Netflix.”
“How long does she have to wear this thing on her head?” Her mom asks.
“Her spine is still healing from the bruises so we’re gonna keep her for observation over the next 7 days and if her spine continues to improve we should get it off at day 5.” I explain to them. The dad looks at us gratefully and signs as Jerry interprets.
“Thank you both so much. I can’t tell you how afraid I was thinking she wouldn’t be able to tell you what’s wrong and you wouldn’t understand but she got lucky to have two people who know sign like you.”
“Well actually it was all Dr. Karev.” Andrew explains causing me to feel flustered, “She noticed your daughter trying to communicate and thanks to her we were able to treat Darcy and let her know what was happening.”
“Thank you, Dr. Karev.” The mom says, “I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to have a doctor who learned my baby’s language.”
“Of course, I’m glad I could help.” I turn to Dr. DeLuca for further instructions.
“Right well I’m gonna check to see if Dr. Shepherd is available to look at Darcy’s films, Dr. Karev will be here to monitor.” DeLuca explains and the dad signs.
“Um he’s asking if they can go pick up their son from school so he can be here as well.” I interpret.
“Yeah sure we’ll take good care of Darcy you can go and the nurse will take you up when you come back.” The parents sign bye and love you to Darcy and leave the room. DeLuca clears his throat and turns to me, “Dr. Karev, I trust you can take care of Darcy.”
“Absolutely Dr. DeLuca you can count on me.” He nods and leaves the room. I readjust the halo when Dahlia walks in catching me off guard.
“Hey.” She walks in with a tablet, “The chief wanted me to check on the deaf teenager to make sure she’s being taken care of.”
“She’s good we’re good I know sign language so I was able to keep her from being restrained like a prisoner.” I explain as I look at the screws, “Now I am making sure the halo is put in place and Dr. DeLuca is out getting Dr. Shepherd for a consult.”
“Okay great, that’s great.”
Darcy asks me, “Who is she?”
“Oh right sorry.” I stand back and sign, “Darcy this is Dr. Qadri she’s here to check on you and make sure your okay.”
Darcy raises her eyebrow, “She’s here to make sure I don’t sue them for tying me down you mean?”
“Yeah.” I nod, “We are so sorry for that and I promise it felt necessary due to fear of causing paralysis and when I realized what was happening, I stopped them immediately.”
“I guess that’s what I get for going out and getting hurt.” Darcy says bitterly, “You know when your on a rollercoaster deaf it feels so much more scary. Although I guess it’s even more scary when you can’t hear a rollercoaster falling off the tracks. I bet it must have looked cool.”
I chuckle as Dahlia looks at her vitals and puts them on her tablet, “Well I wouldn’t know the closest to a roller coaster accident I got was Final Destination 3. And you know I was thinking about checking out the carnival this weekend but now I’m just gonna spend the night in.”
“Well, if you want a ride with your doctor boyfriend I suggest the Great Wheel.” I pause and look at her shocked by her speculation that DeLuca is my boyfriend, “It’s totally safe and it’s slow and intimate so you two can make out while overlooking the whole city.”
I chuckle nervously and Dahlia looks at me confused and I clear my throat. I turn to Darcy and sign without speaking so I don’t give anything away to Qadri, “What makes you think Dr. DeLuca is my boyfriend?”
Darcy narrows her eyes like it was so clear, “Oh please it is so obvious especially to me. Even when I was afraid, I wouldn’t walk I could notice the eyes you made at each other. It was like you were mentally undressing each other.”
I shake my head flustered and continue signing, “I don’t know where you get that idea, he and I are coworkers that’s all.”
Darcy grins amused, “I observe people closely because I have to and I learned to read body language as a result. The body language you two were showing was ‘I want to take your clothes off and take you right here and now’ I guess this is a secret and your afraid your friend will interpret me.”
I look to Qadri to see if she understands but she’s looking at her tablet and looks up at me confused, “What is it?”
I exhale in relief, “Nothing are you done with your notes?”
“Yeah, I should keep going God knows the chief is gonna get after me for slowing things down. See you later.”
Qadri leaves and I go back to conversing with Darcy, “You know you’re a lot smarter than my friends here and they have medical degree’s. They couldn’t figure out in two weeks what you figured out in two hours bravo.” I wave my hands to applaud her and she smiles proudly.
“Just so you know.” Darcy signs, “He is really cute.”
I grin cooly, “He is although he could keep it down with the staring for the next super observant deaf kid we treat.” Darcy grins, “And he’s not my boyfriend, we’re just having fun.”
Darcy grins mischievously, “He looks fun. Which means you should put a label on it before someone else comes along and takes him for a rollercoaster ride.”
I laugh at her innuendo just as DeLuca walks in with Shepherd, “Hey I see I made it in time for comedy hour, what are we joking about?”
I look at Andrew with a grin and respond, “Nothing just some funny youtube videos where the cat juggles a melon. Dr. Shepherd I already adjusted her halo and the nurses gave her a painkiller.”
Shepherd nods, “Okay let’s see what we got here.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After about 12 hours of suturing in the pit and treating burns, I lean against the brick wall of the tunnel sitting on the gurney next to Helm with Casey taking up most of the space and the others occupying the gurney next to us. Right after Dr. Grey won the Harper Avery award like we all predicted we went to the tunnel to rest and reminisce on our day. The six of us are exhausted and about ready to sleep the day away. I’m so tired I’m not even mad that most of them got to assist and I didn’t even Roy which would blow my top off if I wasn’t trying to keep my eyes open.
“This day was epic.” Casey says with tired joy.
“I’m so tired I can’t feel my teeth.” Schmitt says as he rubs his eyes.
“I almost stitched my finger to a person.” I chuckle at Helm who looks at me offended, “At least I saw an O.R. before you She-Karev what do you say to that?”
“I say.” I decide to sign so she won’t understand, “Next time I’ll hurt you just for the chance to fight over your surgery.” I grin at her confused face.
“What is that?” Helm asks.
“Yeah she speaks sign language.” Dahlia explains as she cricks her neck.
Helm scoffs, “Of course you do, is there anything you can’t do?”
“When I figure it out I’ll let you know.” I say smugly and they chuckle when Dr. Grey and Alex enter the tunnel carrying a champagne bottle and cups.
“Scram.” Grey tells us causing them to stand but I stay since I assume sister’s are allowed.
“Yeah you heard her, scram. This is our beach.” They all walk away and Alex turns to me and rains on my parade, “You too get out.”
I look at Alex taken back, “Wha-I’m your sister!”
Alex grins, “Exactly now scram.” I groan in annoyance but do what he says and catch up with the others who look at me amused.
“I guess baby sisters aren’t allowed in the adults table.” Roy makes fun causing me to punch him in the arm.
“Whatever it’s just champagne in a tunnel if I wanted a night like that I would’ve never left Manhattan.”
Casey yawns, “So how does Dahlia know you speak sign?”
“I had a young patient come in with a bruised spine she’s deaf and I was there. I took it as a language requirement in pre med. I figured I could use my hands for something other than saving lives and Roy! I know what your gonna say and if you make a quip about my hands being used for other things I will punch you.”
Roy scoffs amused, “Oh please you don’t have the balls.” I turn around fast and make a motion to punch him in the face causing him to squeal and back away as I grin at his reaction and continue walking. The others laugh at the scene.
“Remind me which one of us has balls?” I grin maliciously as we enter the locker room.
“So you sing, you know sign language and your related to Alex Karev.” Casey lists as I lay on the bench, “Why is it we know all these things about you and yet we don’t know who your sleeping with.”
I groan, “I thought you didn’t care Parker I was rooting for you to be less annoying than the rest of them.”
Casey shrugs, “That was this morning now I’m exhausted and interested is it Major Hunt?”
I chuckle at the irony. I saw the guy naked this morning and he’s not the one I’m sleeping with, “No because the guy is a freaking dinosaur and he’s my boss and I have self-respect.”
“Is it Avery?” Helm asks and I glare at her, “Oh come on don’t pretend you don’t find him hot we all do.”
“Then why don’t you get your freak on with him if you find him delicious?”
“He’s not my type.” Helm opens her locker, “Schmitt are you still convinced it’s Eddie?”
Qadri snorts and says under her breath, “Oh please you all are oblivious.”
They look at her confused over not hearing her, “What was that?” Helm asks causing Dahlia to realize she said something and stammers.
I stand up and go to my locker inputting my combo as she speaks, “U-Um you know my second cousin is deaf.” I freeze at the second set of numbers over this new information but continue to appear cool.
“Really?” Schmitt looks at her confused.
“Y-Yeah she bet me a new headscarf I could learn the language in one month.” I pale at this and take my water bottle out staying quiet, “I lost but I learned a few words especially the dirty ones those stuck out to me the most.”
I clear my throat after I take a sip of water, “That’s uh that’s interesting very interesting to learn right now.”
Dahlia grins knowingly, “Well there’s a lot of things we don’t know about each other but you know that better than anyone right She-Karev?” Her look confirms she was able to interpret mine and Darcy’s conversation and I keep a cool head.
“Are you working tonight?” I ask.
“Yep.” Dahlia confirms and I nod.
“Me too I guess I’ll see you out there.” I quickly leave the room without saying a word to anyone and wait outside the hall for Dahlia to come out and she did. I approach her and cut to the chase, “How much did you interpret?”
Dahlia smiles at my worry, “Which part? The part where she called DeLuca your boyfriend or the part where she could tell you guys were having mind sex in front of her? Because I got both of those if you want to know.”
I sigh in despair, “Great I could’ve taken Russian but no I decided to be of use for the deaf community.”
Dahlia smiles, “Well if it makes you feel better this blows my Lin Manuel Miranda theory out of the water. How did this happen? Was it a quickie in the on-call room or did you gaze at his sultry green eyes in the ER and decided to declare your love for him out in the rain with Ed Sheeran in the background.”
I roll my eyes, “Okay first you watch way too many Nancy Meyers movies second this happened a few months ago way before I even got hired and it has continued ever since and thirdly I will allow for one more question before scaring you into keeping silence so make it count.”
Dahlia thinks for a moment, “Is he good?” I chuckle at her, “Because he looks like he’d be good.”
“Okay my three orgasms a night are none of your business.”
Qadri’s eyes widen, “Three times?! You’re kidding or you miscounted that can’t be possible.”
I whisper, “The other night it was almost four.”
Qadri chuckles at my good fortune, “That man is a medical marvel.”
I sigh in lust, “He really is. Now for the intimidation if you-”
“Amber.” Qadri interrupts me, “You don’t have to worry, I promise I won’t tell anyone about you and DeLuca if you don’t want me to. It’s none of my business and it was just fun gossip this morning that’s all. I mean I’ve seen Gossip Girl I know how brutal it can be.”
I see that she’s genuine and decide to let her off the hook, “All right I guess I can trust you to keep this a secret.”
“I know it probably doesn’t mean much but in my opinion. It’s not as embarrassing as you think.” I raised an eyebrow at her, “It was shocking but then I got over it and it seemed normal. Except for the four orgasms that is just crazy.” I chuckled with her, “Honestly, it’s a lot more ethical than if you slept with Hunt or Avery. Their frogs and we’re egg masses yeah but DeLuca he’s a tadpole so it’s just one shift up the cycle. You have nothing to be ashamed of in my opinion.”
I exhale and look at her grateful for her advice, “People are already underestimating me as Karev’s baby sister I don’t want to give them more reason by opening my bedroom door. I mean guys get away with this but we don’t.”
“You’re preaching to the choir honey.” Qadri agrees, “Okay so I guess your secret is safe with me.”
“Thank you, Dahlia.” I say with a grin.
“So…I guess that makes us friends then.” Dahlia quips with a hopeful smile and I shake my head at her giddiness.
“Well see. Good night.” I turn to walk away from her and I see DeLuca by the nurse’s station rubbing his tired eyes but he sees me giving a grin and he grins too walking by my side.
He greets me in a doctor voice, “Dr. Karev.”
“Dr. DeLuca.” I respond with equal disinterest.
We stop outside the on-call room and he holds the door for me, “After you Dr. Karev.”
“Thank you, Dr. DeLuca.” As soon as he closes the door, we go at each other like animals.
I curl my fist around his wavy hair as we kiss and he picks me up and puts me on top of the drawer chest causing me to chuckle. I continue to kiss him and take his lab coat off; he does the same with my scrub top leaving me in my black bra. I run my hands under his shirt and pull it off quickly. We continue to explore each other with our lips and hands for several moments until I speak up at the worst possible time.
“I’m not embarrassed to be seen with you.” DeLuca pauses kissing the back of my ear and pulls back looking at me confused.
“Is there a reason you’re telling me this when I have you half naked on top of furniture?”
“Listen.” I straighten up and put my hands on his broad shoulders to steady myself, “People look at me and automatically assume I don’t work my way to success. They think I use my looks or amazing skills in bed just to get by, it’s been that way since I first hit puberty. It’s amplified more here because the second I walk into a patient room the family hopes I’m the nurse.” Andrew sighs and puts his hands on my hips listening albeit annoyed I cut our powwow short, “And I get how you don’t assume that but you know things about me that they don’t. You know I worked myself to death to get out of foster care and into state school with no help at all. You know I didn’t use my brother’s name to get an interview here but they don’t know that. I mean they’re gossiping about which attending I’m screwing for surgeries including Hunt which is ironic since I saw him naked this morning with your sister.”
Andrew groans in disgust and pulls his hands away from my body, “And the endorphin high is at a crashing stop thanks for that.” Andrew sighs and looks at me in sympathy, “I get that it’s demeaning to say the least that all those interns look at you and your DNA and assume that your…”
“A brainless slut?” Andrew looks at me in pity over how I described myself.
“No, you’re not and you shouldn’t let them get to you. I mean if they knew all the things you had to go through, they would eat their words over how wrong they were about you.” I look at him touched as he continues, “I mean you helped a deaf little girl tell us what was wrong with her. Your friends probably would have tightened her restraints more and not notice what was right there but you did and…that makes you way better than them in my opinion.”
I look at him in gratitude over how he compliments my bedside manner and I finish my statement, “I’m not embarrassed by you or shamed of you it’s just…what we have is private and I don’t want them to gawk or make fun of it. They would think I’m using you to get revenge for my brother and that you’re sleeping with me to spite Alex but they don’t know us. I don’t care about their opinions but I do care about the reputation I want to establish here.” Andrew looks at me attentively, “You have a different pedigree than me so you don’t know how addict parents and violent brothers can damage your image in the world at the age of 2. I went to private school on scholarship and…the guys assumed I was an easy project girl.” Andrew’s face shifts to pity, “All the girls hated me because I fitted my skirt more than them and they thought I was stealing their boyfriends when they saw me bump into them and…I swore I would never go through that again. I know it isn’t fair to you but it’s all about me not you I promise.”
“Amber that’s terrible.” Andrew brushes my hair back over my shoulder, “I didn’t know that and I was afraid it was because you were embarrassed of me but hearing your story, I get it now. I know how hard it is to get away from your past and make a name for yourself, it’s what I did with my dad and I see that in you too.” Andrew cradles my face in his hands and I look at him with affection, “If you don’t feel comfortable telling people about us, I’ll respect that I just…I just want to know I’m not another shameful secret of yours.”
I sigh and run my hands over his torso, “You’re not if anything you’re the best secret I have ever kept.” Andrew smiles and resumes kissing me this time it’s slow and sensual and he picks me up again putting me on the single bed. I lay under him and moan as he resumes kissing my collar bone and I stroke his back as we sink into each other. I groan and pull him back so I could ask him something else.
Andrew pulls back annoyingly and looks at me, “What is it?”
“Um…are we dating?” He looks at me surprised by my question, “It’s just that we never put a label on it and we’ve only gone out in public like twice so I just want to know if this is gonna die when you realize I am too much of a mess to handle or get tired of my sexpertise.”
Andrew grins at my joke and responds, “Well one I already knew straight off the bat you were gonna be a mess from how our first date went and I handled that spectacularly if you recall. Second I will never get tired of your sexpertise the three orgasms are evidence enough. And third yeah I like to think we are dating, is that the answer you were hoping for?”
I grin, “Yeah it actually was.” Andrew grins at me, “Okay no more interruptions I promise now come here.”
DeLuca exhales, “Thank god.” He kisses me and I moan in pleasure with us content in each other’s company.

The bell over the deli’s front door rings at 1pm, and after a glance at the car parked outside, you know exactly who it is. Steve on his lunch break ––or just any break if you’re being honest–– coming to visit you like he always does. You giggle at the idea that pops into your mind, hoping your best friend is distracted enough for it to work.
“Hey, that’s a nice updog you got there.” You say when Steve comes into the store, using your most casual and nonchalant tone. Though you try not to stare, you can’t help yourself when you look him over briefly. He’s wearing that pair of light washed jeans you don’t let yourself think about, and a light blue polo with a t-shirt underneath. His hair––like always––is perfectly styled, some of it falling over the right side of his forehead. With a shake of your head, you clear your thoughts, focusing instead on Steve’s response.
“What’s u—” Steve starts to say then pauses and rolls his eyes, pointing one finger at you. “No! I’m not falling for it this time.”
“Hah! but you almost did!” You say between laughs; vowing to catch him unaware some other time. “I’ll get you to slip, eventually.”
“You can try babe, but you’ll fail.” He says with confidence then smiles at you; his eyes explore your face for a moment before he spots the book on the counter. “Slow morning today?”
“A bit, yeah. But I don’t mind.” You shrug and bookmark your very-much-loved copy of Persuasion. “How’s FV today?”
Steve looks over the many knick-knacks displayed on the counter as he speaks. “Packed. We got some new movies today, so it’s been busy.”
“‘Your kids’ visit you yet?” You ask while you put your book away. “They were here at noon, those little gremlins.”
Steve chuckles, “No surprise there, they like hanging out here more than at the store with me, now.”
“There’s no food at your place, Stevie. But in here…” You gesture at your surroundings with your hand. “I’ll get in trouble for feeding them eventually.”
“How many today?” Steve asks you, he smiles fondly, knowing the angsty teenagers you call your friends can win you over easily.
“3 Subs.” Your voice is a whisper when you answer Steve’s question. “I told them that if I’m found out I’ll tell my boss they stole them. Let them deal with the police.”
You chuckle, knowing you’re only bluffing. With everything that has happened to the kids in this town, you’re sure you’ll try to protect them as much as you can. From the look that Steve gives you ––amused? Fond? –– you know he can tell you’re not serious either.
“Dustin’s going to fix my radio too.” You tell Steve. “It keeps making my cassettes sound funny.”
“Well.” Steve shrugs, faking seriousness. “I’ll back you up with the police if you need; get you out of any trouble.”
You hum and raise a questioning eyebrow. “And how exactly are you gonna do that?”
“I’ll convince them, naturally. I can be very charming.” He says, and you can’t help the laugh that leaves you.
“Of course, you will, Stevie.” You smile, leaning your forearms on the counter once more. Your eyes scan his brown ones and take in the playfulness that lies there; it makes your smile grow.
“I don’t think you believe me, babe.” He shakes his head, mock hurt.
“I do! The Harrington charm works every time.” You say seriously, until you giggle once more. It does work though, you’re very much charmed by him. You fell in love with him after all. Steve rolls his eyes at you with fondness, and your stomach flips. Clearing your throat, you speak again. “We’re still on for tonight right, the group dinner?”
“Yeah, you wanted to try that new burger place at the mall.” Steve nods then scratches the back of his neck. “Eight, right?” His eyes look at yours for confirmation.
“Yup.” You smile, moving one of your arms so you can rest your chin on your palm. You can’t keep the joy out of your tone when you speak again. It had been a week since you last saw all your friends together ––no counting any short visits–– and since you had been able to hang out with Steve for longer than your lunch breaks. “I’m excited.”
“Yeah?” Steve asks you, smiling back like he is thinking the same thing ––he complained briefly last week that choosing to work overtime would keep you from enjoying summer weekends. His forearm settles on the counter, close to your hand as he pushes his weight on it and looks at you. His eyes grow fond and suddenly it’s like they capture yours in a trance. Cedar brown irises shine beautifully as he smiles; you can see the flecks of golden brown in them, a tiny detail that only appears with the right light. You feel your fingers flutter where they rest near Steve’s arm, itching to hold his hand and let it cover yours, but you can’t.
That would make things weird, right?
You nod your head at his question, mentally reminding yourself not to let your heart out on your sleeve, but your brain seems to be asleep. Steve’s eyes, which haven’t left your face and only seem to grow more intense, shift to your lipspupils dilating and eclipsing the beautiful brown you were observing. When did his face come so close to yours? Steve’s cheeks blush a second later and your face like it’s on fire. It takes all in you to keep from breathing in sharply at the thought that pops up in your mind. Does he… is he thinking about kissing you? No, that’s you projecting onto him. But then his fingers move, like they have the same impulse as yours, and brush your arm gently, almost imperceptibly; it sends a jolt through your body.
You’re giving yourself away! Your mind yells at the same time your heart argues He might like you, he’s acting differently.
You jump, from the electric and burning touch as well as the store’s bell sudden ringing. A new customer steps into the store, disintegrating any moment, however unusual, that happened between you. You clear your suddenly dry throat and dart your eyes from the customer to Steve.
“I should—” You motion to the expecting client and Steve nods. Your face is still burning, and you bite your lip anxiously while your mind races over what could have happened had the client not arrived.
Steve runs a hand through his hair, and your eyes follow the movement, staring involuntarily at the way his arm flexes. His eyebrows furrow as if deep in thought, he looks at you briefly then. “Yeah, of course babe. I’ll leave you to it. I’ll um… see you.”
“Sure, Stevie. See you tonight.” You hope he doesn’t hear the disappointment in your voice, the way you wish he didn’t have to go back to work.
With that, Steve goes out the door and to his car once more. You watch as he reverses back into the main road and disappears. After a shake of your head to clear your head, you address the new customer, take his order, and set to helping him checkout. But even as you work your mind spins in incessant circles of wistful thinking. Steve looked at you differently, his eyes had shone with different emotions, too many to identify correctly. He looked at your lips and blushed when you’d noticed. Is it possible that… no, of course not. There’s no way he could be into you. You were his best friend, nothing more. But then again so was he, and you’d fallen for him anyways. Is it possible that he reciprocates your feelings?

Later that day, you pull into the mall’s parking lot past 7:30pm. Robin sits on the passenger seat of your car, her combat boots up on the dashboard. She asked you for a ride earlier, and since your houses are very close by, you happily agreed. The two of you remove your seatbelts, and slide out of the car, locking the doors behind you. The summer night is humid, and you feel almost suffocated in the button-down shirt that covers your shoulders and arms. But the mall would be blasting cold air though, the AC turned up to the max, so there was really no way you’d only be wearing the pale-yellow tank top you have underneath your shirt. You check your pockets for your keys and the cash you brought with you, an unshakable habit ever since you got locked out of your car that one time during the winter. Robin talks while she walks next to you, her mind going over the possibility of a vegetarian option at the restaurant.
“I know it’s a burger place, but veggie burgers exist! And I know I will be that person who asks for the vegetarian option but… I don’t do it to shame you guys! I just don’t think the world needs the extra cruelty towards the cow where my burger would’ve come from. Or the water depletion! I just hope it’s actually like 100% veggie burger, and not some mixture of veggies and meat.” She goes on, about some frozen veggie burgers she got at the supermarket once, that were not all veggies.
You chuckle and bump your shoulder against hers. “I’ll make sure to ask them if it’s all veggie.”
“And make sure they show you the packaging, they can lie to us!” Robin insists and it makes you laugh as you approach the mall’s entrance.
Eddie Munson is waiting by the main door when he spots you. “What’s Buckley saying that’s got you laughing, sweetums.” He asks when he reaches the two of you.
“Hi Eds.” You say, smiling once your laughter fades. You accept the hug he gives you and Robin does as well.
“She’s delighted by all my trust issues, Munson.” Robin says and shakes her head before she looks at you, “Isn’t that right?”
“Of course not.” You shake your head. “I’m just imagining the waiter’s face when you ask for a veggie burger.”
Robin chuckles, a playful smile on her face. “You’re right.”
“Shall we, ladies?” Eddie motions towards the door. “Don’t know about you, but I’m ready for some of that freezing A/C inside.”
“I swear these temperature changes are going to get us sick one of these days.” You shake your head but walk along with your friends. “Did Steve say what time he’ll get here? I told him eight o’clock but—”
“Aw, that’s cute.” Robin says with a teasing tone. “You’re trying to sound nonchalant.”
You raise your chin higher, “I’m always nonchalant.”
“Keep dreaming. When it comes to Steve you never are.” Robin scoffs, but not meanly, she just likes to tease you about your feelings for him and how inconvenient they are as he is your best friend.
“Cut her some slack, Buckley. That’s how young love is.” Eddie says, but he’s chuckling too.
“Come on, Baskin Robins, don’t gang up on me with Eddie,” You decide to tease her right back, with an annoying nickname at least. “I asked a genuine question.”
“Dunno.” Robin says, “He didn’t tell me when he dropped me off after work.”
“I thought Harrington would be with you guys.” Eddie mentions as the three of you step on the escalators. You take one step and Robin shares one with Eddie. The two of them stand behind you, so you turn sideways to address them.
“I haven’t talked to him since this morning.” You say, shrugging even as your stomach flips at the unusual interaction you’d had with him. You picture it in your mind; the two of you leaning against the deli’s counter, him in front of you. He’d stood closer than before, his face close to yours while you chuckled. He’d looked into your eyes, then moved his gaze to your lips. Your heart had hammered against your chest so loudly you wondered if Steve heard it.
“It’s almost eight, so he should be here soon.” Robin proposes with a shrug.
“Yeah.” You nod, then look at Eddie with a smile. “How was Hellfire today?”
“Same as usual.” Eddie tells you. “We have a killer campaign next week.” He goes on to tell you about it, and you listen to him even while you turn briefly to step off the escalators. He’s mentioning something Mike and Dustin had come up with at a club meeting and how he’d let them plan the next campaign.
You were about to tell him how the kids were growing on him but the scene in front of you makes you pause. There, on the other side of the second floor is Steve, but he isn’t alone. There’s a girl next to him, holding his arm as they walk in the direction to the restaurant. You can only see her profile, while she looks at him, and she is beautiful. Her blonde hair bounces perfectly with each step she takes, and the pink lipstick she’s wearing suits her complexion perfectly. They way she looks at him is all too familiar as well, it’s a way you’ve looked at him on many occasions ––and a look you’ve worked hard to conceal from him. But where the girl looks at him like he’s too attractive to be real ––he is–– you look at him like he’s your favourite person to ever exist, like there’s no one you will love like you love him.
You stop dead on your tracks, looking away from Steve’s walking form. Your eyes look around to try and find somewhere to hide. A second later you see a thick pillar to your right and you make a beeline towards it —it’s embarrassing really, how you have to hide, but you don’t to want be spotted. Not when your insides feel like they’re collapsing on themselves. But the way you looked at me this morning, you wonder to yourself, did I imagine it? Of course, you did; you’ve known all along Steve can’t and will never be yours. The only one who wasn’t in on the secret was your heart.
Your friends are quick to follow you, crouching next to you in your hiding place. Their gaze follows yours and you can see out of your periphery that they share a concerned look. Steve looks so handsome as always, in that white t-shirt and burgundy vest; his hair is perfect, the grin on his face is lovely. All of it makes your heart ache, even more so when you look at the girl by his side again. His probable date, the one he chose. I wish you were mine instead, you think. I wish… I only saw you as a friend.
You try to speak and open your mouth to, once, twice, but no sound comes out. The only sound you do hear though, is that of your heart as it breaks. You knew this day would come, you’ve tried to prepare for it, so how is it that you’re not ready? Squeezing your eyes shut, you try to control the way your lip trembles and your hand begins to shake. Nausea bubbles in your stomach and you feel an ache within your chest, though you don’t know how —it’s suddenly hollow and devastated. You swallow hard and manage to find your voice. “I need to leave. Y–you guys should go get burgers anyway —let me know how they are.”
Robin and Eddie start to say your name, but you shake your head, wiping at your eyes before your tears fall. “Look at that, the allergies are acting up. Eddie you can give robin a ride home, right?”
Eddie nods, but his eyes are full of concern. He brings his hand to your shoulder and keeps his voice soft when he speaks. “Yeah, buttercup; but we don’t have to stay, we can go with you.”
Robin nods earnestly, struggling to keep her voice down. She starts rambling, insisting on coming with you. “You’re not okay, come on let’s get you home. We don’t need the burgers; we’ll all make excuses. You don’t have to be alone right now, I-I honestly didn’t know he would….”
“No, please guys, I’m okay.” You try to reassure them, the need to flee the mall growing with each minute. The sting of unshed tears becomes more intense. “Tell Steve I ate a bad sandwich at work and got sick. Or anything! I just can’t be here right now. I’m sorry.”
You offer them a poor excuse for a smile before you turn around to leave the mall. After making sure Steve went the opposite way from the front door, you walk to the escalators again, descending them like you would a normal staircase ––there’s no time to way for it to take you to the main floor, you need to leave. It feels like you’re on autopilot from then on, you walk to your car and drive home in silence. Your hands grip the steering wheel tightly while your heart continues to pound in your chest, this time completely differently than it had in the morning. The autopilot you were in shuts down once you park in your driveway, and at once the numbness ends as your resolve to be strong crumbles. Your feelings overflow, they burst from the tiny box you squeezed them into a long time ago, and it’s a matter of seconds for the tears to follow. Once the first one falls, the rest don’t hold back, and just like that you find yourself crying in your car. Your head falls to the steering wheel and your shoulders shake with a sob when the memory from earlier floods your mind again.
You see the two of them and how good they looked together; how happy she was. Would Steve kiss her goodnight? Would she get to feel his touch as they kissed? It all hurts you even more, yet the only one to blame for being in this mess is you. How could you think you had a chance. You’re Steve’s best friend, just that, and you will remain that indefinitely. It hadn’t bothered you before, until a couple years ago romantic feelings bloomed and grew each time you fell more in love with him. Why did you have to fall in love? Why didn’t you ignore your feelings back then to save you the pain of a broken heart you’re experiencing now?
With a few deep breaths you try to compose yourself, wiping at your eyes and the tears that fell on the wheel during your pity party. You can’t stay in your car all night, so you gather your things and make your way to the front door. You discard your shoes once you’re inside and the door is locked behind you. Then, figuring that chocolate can probably trick you into feeling better, you go to the kitchen where you grab a tub of ice cream from the freezer and a spoon.
You sit on the floor, your back to the fridge as you scoop a spoonful of chocolate ice cream and eat it absentmindedly. You feel tired and jealous, but also angry and hollow. This was going to happen, you remind yourself ––no daydreaming or wistful thinking was going to change the outcome. Steve was never going to choose you, romantically anyways. How are you going to face him again, hear him talk about his date and pretend that you’re happy when you know you’re not. When you know that it’s killing you that you’re not and will never be his.
Even the decadent chocolate flavour turns bitter after a few spoonfuls, your thoughts stripping it off its comforting sweetness. With a sigh, you stand up and drop the spoon on the sink then put the ice cream back in the freezer, determined to go upstairs and shower; you’ll cry yourself to sleep soon after. Yes, that’s a good plan. You empty your pockets and leave everything on your dresser —your keys, and the money you didn’t use. In the bathroom, you start the shower and let the water warm up as you undress and put a shower cap on. You don’t have the strength or willingness to wash your hair tonight, besides, the sooner you’re in bed the better. The warm water soothes you, as does the vanilla scented body wash you always use. You put all your focus on getting yourself clean, trying to leave no room in your mind to think about your feelings.
By the time you’re out of the shower and slip into your sleeping shirt and shorts, you feel proud of yourself because you hadn’t cried anymore. But the small triumph only lasts until you’re done brushing your teeth because just then the phone starts to ring downstairs. You rinse your mouth before going back downstairs and to the kitchen, thankful for your deep-sleeper parents when you see its 10:30 on the microwave’s clock.
“Hello?” You answer the phone, wondering who’s calling.
“Hey, babe.” Steve voice says on the other side of the line, and you the minute to hear his voice your non-crying streak is broken. Your throat feels tight, and your vision blurs; flashes of what you saw at the mall come back to you like an unkind reminder. You want to hang up, you have to make up any excuse because Steve can’t hear you cry.
“Hi,” You murmur as your fingers fidget with the phone’s curly cord. You tangle and untangle your finger in it, anything to calm you down.
“Robin said you’re sick, how are you feeling?”
 If only you knew.
“I’m…not great,” You say, and it isn’t a lie, he just doesn’t know why. “I’m throwing up my guts.” You continue, trying to stop your voice from wavering and pressing your lips together as you take a deep breath. I’m also crying my eyes out you think, but you don’t tell him.
“Must have been a really bad sandwich,” Steve says–– you can picture him scratching his chin as he speaks, his eyebrows furrowed. “This morning you were fine. I called Henderson and he’s not sick.”
You shake your head, of all the times he chooses to be perceptive… Yeah, this morning seems like an eternity ago. When I thought you returned my feelings, but you went out on a possible date, and it broke my heart.
“I ate a different sub.” You say. “And with my luck it probably had poison in it. Maybe it was the lettuce.” You fake a chuckle, knowing the lie is sealed tight now. The kids hate veggies, that’s why you never put them in their sandwiches. If you say you put some in yours then it’s more believable that you got sick, and they didn’t.
You clear your throat, needing to spare yourself any more pain. “I… um, feel very tired though so I should go to bed.”
“Yeah,” Steve says, probably nodding his head even though you can’t see him. “Yeah, that’s probably a good idea, beautiful. Drink lots of water, ok?”
Your heart tightens at the pet name ––one of many that started meaning something different to you a while ago––and his concern. In another world, one where you aren’t in love with him, you know he would be comforting you through your heartbreak.  But that isn’t the world you live in. Here, you deal with it alone because silly you fell in love with your best friend.
“Yeah, thanks Stevie. Night.” You hang up and squeeze your eyes shut as you lean against the wall, letting your tears finally fall to the kitchen floor.
The sudden knock on the front door makes you look up, and you barely have time to wonder who it is when you hear Robin’s voice calling your name. “Open up! I can see the lights on!” She says from the other side.
Though you’re tired —and surprised— you make your way to the front door and open it to find Robin and Eddie standing there. They look at you with both worry and sympathy when they see your red-rimmed and puffy eyes. It’s enough to make you tear up again.
“I hate everything.” You mumble and they step inside to envelop you in a three-person hug. “What are you guys doing here?”
Robin scoffs softly, “You honestly think we wouldn’t check up on you?”
You can only shrug when they step back, that’s exactly what you thought earlier. “I guess not.”
“We didn’t want you to be alone.” Eddie says, his lips forming a frown.
“Thank you… I appreciate that.” You tell them, though you feel guilty that your currently emotional state made them come see you. “Come in, make yourselves comfortable.”
The three of you move to the living room, where you lie face down on the couch, knowing you don’t have to pretend to be okay with your friends. Eddie sits on the coffee table and Robin goes to the kitchen to grab a glass of water.
“How were those burgers?” You ask though your voice is muffled by the couch. “Steve just called. Thank you for covering for me.”
“The burgers were… interesting.” Eddie says, “We were going to bring you one but Robin said you would throw it up.”
You shake your head, sitting up briefly when you hear Robin approach. “You can rip the band aid off. I just heard his voice and lied to him, so what’s some more pain?”
Robin hands you the glass of water which you accept and take a few sips from. Eddie takes the glass from you when you’re done, and you collapse on the couch again, facing the ceiling this time.
“He came to the restaurant with her, sat down with us for a bit.” Eddie begins and his leg bounces anxiously as his hands fidget, like he’s unsure he should be telling you more, “He asked about you, and got worried when we told him you got sick.”
“They didn’t stay long.” Robin says from where she now sits on the floor next to you.
“Was she, his date?” You ask, looking for some confirmation of your assumptions.
Robin nods and takes your hand in hers. “Yeah, it was a date.” She whispers.
You nod in understanding, eyes fixed on the ceiling as tears gather in your eyes. So it is confirmed then, you think dejectedly, I read too much into what happened in the morning. I fooled myself into thinking he was into me. One of your tears rolls down your cheek and hides in your hair.
“Shit, sweetums.” Eddie says, sounding upset by your current state. “Come on, don’t cry.”
You chuckle morosely, “I can’t help it, Eddie. I feel like my heart went through a paper shredder.”
“I thought Harrington was into you, buttercup, I was almost certain of it.” Eddie shakes his head; you feel his eyes still on your face. “Robin too.”
“Yeah, I never thought he’d bring a date to dinner. Considering you invited him.” Robin is shaking her head while she pulls on a thread sticking out of the carpeted floor.
“We were all wrong then.” You say, closing your eyes, “Me for believing I wouldn’t care or be affected if Steve dated someone, and you guys for thinking he saw me as anything other than a friend.”
There’s a minute of silence between the three of you as you shake your head at your own foolishness and stare at the ceiling. “He called me, just as you guys arrived. Had to hang up quickly so he wouldn’t hear me cry.”
Robin’s hand falls on your shoulder and squeezes it in comfort. You think about how you had to lie to Steve, how you didn’t even let him say good night. It makes you tear up again. “This is pathetic. Why is it affecting me so much?” You say, voice muffled as you cover your face with your hands.
“Hey, come on it’s not pathetic.” Eddie says, gently pulling your hands away from your face. “You just got a big heart, so your feelings are stronger. Nothing wrong with it.”
You turn your head to look at him, feeling guilty for needing comfort but also grateful for it. “Real good that’s done.” You chuckle without any joy, “I should’ve known better.”
“Don’t be so hard on yourself.” Robin chides, moving to sit on the couch, urging you to rest your head on her lap.
“Thank you.” You tell Robin, and then Eddie. “I’ll be okay, eventually.”
“How?” Robin asks, shaking her head at you, as she runs a hand over your head.
“I just need to sort out my feelings for Steve; put them back on the box they were in before.” You explain, trying to convince them and yourself at the same time.
“And when Harrington goes on another date?” Eddie echoes your conscience beside you which makes you turn to look at him again.
You bring your gaze back to the ceiling when you feel yourself tear up once more. Will your heart survive something like this once again? What if you see him kissing someone else. What pain will that cause?
Eddie places his hand over yours, his rings cold against your skin. “You’re crying just at the thought of it, buttercup.”
You cover your face with your hands again as the tears continue to come, falling down your cheeks in earnest. “I need to get over these feelings. I need to forget that I ever fell in love with him.” You shake your head. “I need to get away, clear my head.”
“And go where?” Eddie asks, doubt and concern lacing his tone.
“Your aunt’s” Robin says a second later and two pairs of eyes turn to  look at her. “She’s always asking you to visit, you can go there.”
Robin is right, Aunt Maggie is always asking when you’ll visit her again. She has a lovely farm with a light blue painted house. It’s been a while since you last drove there and you’d be lying if you say you didn’t miss her. Two birds, one stone.
“Wheres that?” Eddie asks, his hands now playing with his hair anxiously.
“Ohio, a little out of Columbus.” You rub at your eyes, “I can drive, it’s less than 4 hours away.”
“So that’s it, you’re leaving?” Eddie looks at you like you’ve lost your mind and you shrug. Maybe you have, but there’s no denying you need to figure out how to move forward after tonight. Doing so 4 hours away from Hawkins and without having to actively ignore Steve seems like the best alternative.
“I’m off work until Wednesday next week, it works.” You tell your friends, sitting up on the couch. You look at Robin, thankful for her memory. “I’ll call Aunt Margaret in the morning.”
“I don’t want you to, but…” Robin sighs, slouching where she sits. “When do you think you’ll leave?” Though you can see she’s trying to act casual, you know she’s nervous for you; worried.
“Probably Sunday?” You run a hand over your head, “I need to pack.”
“You don’t have to leave.” Eddie is shaking his head, opposing your idea.
“Eds, I just need to be with my thoughts for a while, see what I’m going to do. Otherwise, I won’t stop hurting, and all the crying is going to dehydrate me, and I’ll end up dead.”
Or your heart will give out. Your eyes tear up again, like they’re not done crying. Not yet. “Fuck, not again.”
“I just want you to be okay. I’ve never seen you cry, sweetums. Ever. Tonight has been shocking to say the least.” Though you can’t see him, you can hear the frown Eddie has on his face as he speaks.
Robin puts her hand on your knee, patting it twice. “We just want you to smile again, for real. Like you did earlier tonight.”
“Well, I was going to eat some fries and a burger, and I thought the guy I love might like me back.”  You chuckle and wipe your tears again, uselessly. “I will be okay, I feel absolutely empty right now, but I will be better. A change of scenery will help me.” You hope.
“So, Sunday?” The two of them ask you.
“Sunday.” You nod and swallow hard, deciding to give them both a smile instead of more crying.
“I hope you’re right about this.” Robin mumbles.
“Me too.” You say, hoping things will work out.
 ✫✫✫✫
Sunday morning eventually arrives, and you wake up early in the morning to make sure you have everything you need for the next 3 days. You pack a couple snacks and some water bottles for the road, take your car to fill up the gas tank, and pack anything else you might need. Robin arrives at 10am, Eddie at 10:15, to load your things in your car and say goodbye before you leave.
“How did Steve take it?” Robin asks you. The three of you sit on your front door’s steps, waiting for Steve to arrive. It didn’t feel right in your heart to leave without saying goodbye to him, so you called him last night.
You sigh, “He was very confused, you know how he is. He asked a bunch of questions, but I told him I’d explain today.”
“Explain, huh?” Eddie says with a chuckle next to you.
“You know what I mean, Munson.” You roll your eyes and bump his shoulder with yours. “The necessary information only.”
Just then you hear a car approach in the distance and recognize it as it comes closer to you house. Steve speeds to your driveway, barely putting his car on park before he’s sliding out of it and walking towards you. A frown pulls down at his lips, there’s a crease between his brows as he furrows them and his hair is a dishevelled from running his finger through it —it still works for him, it always does. Damn you for always looking so good Steve, you think as you see the way the blue polo he’s wearing fits him.
You stand to greet him, offering a small wave when he stops in front of you. “Hey.”
“Babe, what? You’re leaving?” Steve is shaking his head when he steps closer to you, brows still furrowed in question.
“Aunt Maggie called me, Steve, she asked me to visit.” You explain. Your hands fidget with each other in front of you. “You know she lives alone, maybe she needs some company.”
“So this time you just accepted her invitation?” Steve sounds confused, like you’re not making any sense and you know you probably aren’t, but you nod anyway.
“Yeah…”
Steve brings his hand up, close to your face and rubs the skin of your under eye softly with his thumb—his frown deepens. “You haven’t been sleeping well?”
When you can only shrug—speechless from his touch— Steve sighs. “Why are you really leaving, beautiful?”
There he goes again with the pet names, making your heart race, and confusing it at the same time. He is so caring, and worries so much you wish you could tell him the truth; that it wouldn’t make you lose him. “There are some things I need to figure out.” You say when you look at the floor then back at him. You don’t want to lie to him, so a vague truth would have to do.
“You can talk to me, you know that. You can tell me anything.” Steve says softly, his eyes pleading you to talk to him or maybe to stay? You’re not sure.
Not this, you think, I can’t tell you this. “I hope I can, Stevie. Eventually.”
You step closer and hug him wishing for nothing more than to comfort him. The minute you’re in his arms you curse your body for fitting so perfectly against his, and the way it relaxes under his touch. You melt against him for a second, your mind spiraling further. You’re the only one for me, can’t you see? Can’t you tell how perfect this feels? But you’ll never see me as the one for you. Steve’s arms are a reassuring weight on your shoulder, and the way he hunches to cocoon you in his chest makes you sigh softly; softly enough he doesn’t hear you.
“Call me, yeah? I don’t know your aunt’s number.” Steve mumbles above your ear. it tickles you but you dare not move from his embrace. Not yet.
“Robin has it. I’ll call you though, to tell you I arrived okay.” You nod, knowing he feels the movement.
“And drive with caution.” He says next, his tone serious before his voice becomes softer. “ I could have driven you.”
“It’s like an 8 hour round trip Steve, I’d never ask that of you.” You shake your head against his shoulder, involuntarily breathing him in.
Steve reluctantly nods, still frowning you imagine but you don’t blame him. Even without your romantic feelings involved, it would make you sad to leave town for a while. This separation from him though necessary is killing you on the inside. “Just be careful, okay? I’ll miss you.”
You nod against his shoulder again. “I’ll miss you too..” You step back, putting some distance between you and looking into his eyes one more time.  I’ll miss everything about you, you want to say.
“Let me check your car, make sure it’s alright for the road.” Steve is still frowning as he scratches his cheek anxiously. “Won’t take long.”
“Thank you, Stevie.” You muster your most convincing smile while your heart aches at his concern. He nods, and walks back to the driveway.
Robin’s arms envelop you a second later, squeezing you tightly. You return her fierce embrace with one of your own, sighing at the thought of leaving her behind. “Sorry to leave you with all the boys.” You tell her.
Robin takes a step back. “Please come back, okay? And call me when you get to aunt Maggie’s ‘cause then I’ll know you’re safe and sound. Don’t forget, or else I will end up hitchhiking to Ohio just to make sure you’re safe and with so many weirdos out there who knows where I’ll end up.” Robin starts to ramble, her eyes serious and her hands clutching your shoulders to get her message across.
You nod your head, smiling at her concern and creative mind. “I will call you, just please don’t hitchhike alright? Ask someone to drive you if you need to check that I’m not dead.”
Robin nods, her short hair bouncing lightly on her head. “I’ll miss you.”
“I will too.” You give her another hug before you move over to hug Eddie, who stands next to her.
Eddie’s leather jacket is cool to the touch, but it doesn’t take away any warmth from his hug. “You’ll be alright buttercup. Things might seem shitty right now, but it’ll get better.”
“Thank you, Eddie.” You say, voice small as you step back and look at him, grateful for his words and his support. “For everything. You’re a good friend.”
He dismisses the compliment with a wave of his hand, smiling softly at you. “You need anything, call us. We’ll get to you as fast as we can. Right, Harrington?” His eyes move to your car, and you turn around to find Steve there closing the hood.
You walk to him and stand next to the driver’s side. “Is it good to go?”
Steve nods, staring at the floor and then looking into your eyes again. “Come back, okay babe? I sure hope you find me here when you do, and that I haven’t crashed myself into a car because the kids drove me crazy while you were gone.”
You laugh at his joke and his own laughter follows soon after. Your eyes light up at the smile on his face, the way his eyes squint against the sun and wrinkle in the corners with his smile. You adore him, you are seriously fucked. “I’ll be back here on Wednesday, Stevie.” You smile at him, forgetting about everything for a second and kissing his cheek. “Don’t crash your car.”
With that, you slide into the driver’s seat, start the car, and drive away.
Steve stands in the driveway and stares after your car as it becomes smaller in the distance, until it turns a corner and disappears from view. It doesn’t feel right, fuck, it’s not right. Why did everything decide go to shit all of a sudden?
“You know Harrington, I did not take you for a blind man.” Eddie says to him, rubbing his chin before he shakes his head.
Steve puts his hands on his hips. “What’s that supposed to mean, Munson?” He’s lost, he’s been so confused since Friday. What had happened?
“Nothing,” Eddie puts his hands up. “I just think it’s sad that you’re so lucky, but you fail to see it.” Eddie gives him a small smile, then goes to his car as Steve stands there feeling more confused than before.
“Munson! Eddie! Come on what’s that supposed to mean?” Steve calls after him, but Eddie doesn’t turn around.
“You’ll figure it out eventually.” Is all Eddie says before getting into his car and driving away.
Steve turns, looking at Robin with pleading eyes. If there’s something he’s missing, which he’s sure he is, she must know it. “Robs?” He asks. “‘You gonna tell me what’s going on?”
Robin flicks his nose, then chuckles. “You should go home, dingus. Sit on it for a while, it’ll come to you.” She turns around and starts to walk along the sidewalk back to her place, leaving Steve to think over her words.
It’ll come to you. What will?
✫✫✫✫
It, in fact, did not come to him. Not on Sunday, and definitely not on Monday, especially with Robin’s refusal to help him out. No clues, no explanations, nothing. Steve’s hair is in a permanent state of disarray from constantly running his fingers through it. You were gone, and though you had talked to him briefly on the phone it just wasn’t enough. Steve feels like he’s going to lose his mind. You’ve been acting weird since the weekend, dodging dinner with what he thinks is a lie about being sick, then randomly leaving to Ohio. There was also the fact that your eyes looked sad, the last time he saw you, your smile only coming through when he joked right before you left. It had filled his chest with joy, but then you drove away and everything inside him deflated. He feels like a walking carcass, a shadow, a lost pet walking down the streets. Had he done something to upset you? Would you ever tell him what?
“You’ve been checking that list out for more than an hour, you know that right?” Robin speaks up from where she sits, reading a magazine with her boots propped up on the counter.
Family video is empty around him, like it always is on Tuesdays, and Steve looks down at the inventory list he’s holding. Every box is checked already, but he zoned out thinking about you and now he looks like an idiot standing by the drama aisle. How fitting.
“Shit.” Steve sighs, walking to place the list on the counter. He rests his head there, squeezing his eyes shut. There are too many questions swirling in his mind; it feels like he’s going crazy ––so he starts to pace. “What if she doesn’t come back Robin!”
“Why wouldn’t she?” She asks vaguely, and Steve knows she’s only half listening to him. “She has a shift at the deli on Thursday.”
“She left last minute, something must have happened. And it has to do with me, because she didn’t tell me until the last minute! I’m her best friend, I’m always the first to know.” Steve runs a hand through his hair again, and stares at the carpeted floor while he walks the whole length of the counter and back. “Then there’s you and Munson being so mysterious about all this, not telling me anything.”
“Steve.” Robin sighs, “I don’t think there’s a point in me telling you, I think you already know what happened, but your mind doesn’t process it yet.”
“I don’t know!” Steve throws his hands up in exasperation at the same time the front door opens. Dustin, Max, and Lucas storm inside, determined looks on their faces.
“Where is she?” Dustin demands, foregoing all manners as he looks from Steve to Robin.
“Who?” Robin asks, not looking up from her magazine.
“You know who!” Dustin says, rolling his eyes. “She’s not been at the Deli for two days.”
“And she won’t answer the phone at home. Her parents said she’s away. Where?” Max asks, furrowing her eyes when she looks at Steve. “Did you do something?”
“No! I’m as lost as all of you are.” Steve rolls his eyes. “She’s been acting weird since Friday.”
“She seemed fine to me.” Lucas shrugs, the crosses his arms over his chest. “She gave us some sandwiches, then we talked for a while. Everything was normal.”
“Yeah, well she bailed on dinner with us because she got sick from eating a sandwich.” Steve shakes his head, looking away from the accusatory looks the teenagers were giving him.
“From a sandwich?” Max says, a confused look crossing her features. “Can’t be, she ate half of mine and I’m fine.”
Steve’s head turns to the redhead so fast, he’s sure he risked whiplash. “What?”
“I told you.” Dustin says with an eye roll. “None of us were sick on Friday.”
“Yeah, but you didn’t tell me she shared a sandwich with Max!” Steve points a finger at him, then sighs and rests his hands on his hips. “So, she just bailed? Didn’t go to the mall? She told me she was excited.”
“You didn’t see her there?” Lucas asks.
“No, Eddie drove Robin that night, she wasn’t around.” Steve shakes his head, then looks at the teens in front of him suspiciously. “What do you know?”
“Eddie couldn’t have driven Robin; he ran out of D&D and then drove to the mall. He said he was running late.” Dustin explains, his eyebrows are furrowed in concentration and Steve knows he’s trying to figure the puzzle out. “So, she must have driven Robin, but why did she leave?”
“Why did she lie?” Steve wonders aloud.
“Maybe she changed her mind.” Lucas supplies and Max shakes her head.
“That’s not it.” Max mumbles, at the same time Robin speaks up.
“Maybe she saw something she didn’t like.”
“I knew it! You know something!” Steve says, turning to face Robin at the same moment she lowers her magazine.
Her gaze is serious, “Think about it, Steve. What did you do on Friday.”
All teenagers turn to him, expectant looks on their faces to hear what Steve has to say.
Steve’s face transforms into a grimace. “I went on a bad date with someone.”
“What?!” Dustin, Max, and Lucas, yell at the same time.
The outrage in their eyes makes Steve put his hands up. “What do you mean ‘what?!’”
Max pretends to think, then speaks up. “Um, aren’t you like completely gone for Y/N?”
“Why would you go on a date with someone else?” Dustin shakes his head.
Steve scratches the back of his neck and looks down at the floor. He almost messed up on Friday afternoon, when he went to the deli to see you. You had looked just so fucking pretty ––like you always do–– with your hair styled in that way that makes Steve crazy and that pink lip-gloss on your lips. It was like you were trying to drive him out of his mind that day, and Steve being the idiot he is, had slipped. He’d leaned too close to you, he let his eyes shift down to your lips and fucking blushed when you caught him staring. He’d given into the impulse of touching your hand and was pretty sure he would have kissed you had a customer not arrived. He felt so stupid, the one thing he told himself not to do ––let you find out he’s in love with you–– and he went ahead and almost blew it. You had smiled so prettily at him, and it took everything in him to put distance between the two of you. So, after leaving the deli, flustered and in a rush, Steve looked for a date to bring to dinner that night. Anything to get the feelings that had surfaced in check, and to cover up his slip in front of you.
“So I would be forced to think about someone else but her! So she wouldn’t figure out I like her!” Steve shakes his head, disliking the way everyone is looking at him like he’s a blind man. Just like Munson said on Sunday.
“It all makes sense now.” Dustin nods, and everyone agrees. Everyone but Steve.
“No,” Steve shakes his head. “What? It doesn’t.”
Robin groans and puts her magazine down. “How would you feel if it had been you in her place, Steve?”
Steve looks down to the floor again, thinking about it. He thinks about you on a date with someone else, some dude who would get to hold your hand and make you laugh. It immediately hurts something inside of him, and he clenches his fists by his sides. “That makes no sense, it would suck, but only because I have feelings for her.”
Max is going to say something, but Robin holds her hand up and speaks first. Her eyes are trained on Steve. “He’ll realize it, give him a minute.”
Steve thinks about the way you lied about being sick and avoided dinner on Friday, those are things he would do too, if he is being honest. He thinks about the possibility of you having feelings for him, about his love not being unrequited and it all makes sense. Your avoidance, the way you looked so sad on Sunday. He’d hurt you, and now you thought he was in love with someone else. Your heart. Steve winces as he thinks about how you must have felt, your heart, so kind and so big, it must have hurt that night. It might even still hurt right now. All because of him.
“So she…” Steve mumbles, speechless at the thought.
“YES STEVE!” Everyone yells at him, and that is enough to jump-start his heart and his mind. It spurs him into action.
“Shit! Shit!” Steve says, patting his pockets for his keys. “I have to go, I gotta go see her and–– and I’ll figure out the rest on the way.”
“We’re coming with you!” Robin jumps up from her seat, a look of triumph on her face. “Told you you’d figure it out.”
“Keith, we gotta go!” Steve yells over his shoulder, running to the door and flipping the store’s sign to close. “Take it out of my paycheck!”
Everyone squeezes into Steve’s car, with barely any time to put their seat belts on before Steve reverses out of his parking spot and speeds out of the lot. He sees everything with new eyes. Hope flourishing on his chest. He needs flowers, and he needs to think over what he’ll say. He’s got 4 hours, more than enough time.
 ✫✫✫✫
The days you spent at Aunt Maggie’s house had been everything but uneventful. She had welcomed you with open arms and showed you the new things she’d changed around the house since your last visit. From then on you had kept busy, thankful for the distractions, working on the garden, watering the many flowers planted around the property, driving to town and running errands for your aunt. Then there was Saturn, Aunt Maggie’s golden retriever, who had done wonders to your mood the moment you arrived. But still, your feelings and thoughts always found a way to creep up on you. You thought and missed Steve, constantly, unable to tune him out like you hoped, and every phone call with him cemented the fact that you can’t go on lying to him. He is still your best friend, and even though you’re going to lose him you came to the decision to tell him the truth. You’ll tell him that you’re in love with him once you’re back in Hawkins. You figure, that if you’re going to end up hurt either way ––pining while he dates someone else or alone after you confess your feelings–– you might as well get hurt from telling the truth.
You are just about done baking some cookies, taking them out of the oven and setting them on the counter to cool, when you hear a car approaching the house. The gravel road crunches under its weigh, and you look out the window to see if Aunt Maggie was back from her book club. But it isn’t her car that’s approaching, it’s Steve’s. Tiny pieces of dirt fly everywhere as the tires move on the small and secluded path to the house. The sun that’s still shinning, though lower on the sky, glints on the windshield and conceals who’s inside. You try to keep your emotions in check, but your stomach flips traitorously at the thought of it being Steve.
Saturn barks next to you, propping his paws on the kitchen counter to look out the window. A second later he dashes to the front door, and barks to let you know he wants to go out. You take your apron off, and walk to the living room, lingering by the front door for a moment as you wonder what the hell is going on. Your aunt’s dog runs outside the moment you open the door, surprising Max, Lucas and Dustin when they open the back door. Robin is next to slide out of the car, opening the passenger door and running to where you stand.
“Hey stranger.” She smiles, her arms hugging you tightly as you chuckle. You hug her back, smiling widely at the sight of your friend.
“Hey yourself.” You say. “What are you––?”
“YN!” The three teenagers run to you. They shove Robin out of the way before they hug you and though you try, you can’t make out a single word they’re saying. It could be gibberish, or something serious but you can’t focus on any of it because Steve steps out of his car in that moment.
“There are cookies on the kitchen counter.” You tell the three of them after your hug, and it’s enough to get them running inside the house.
Steve walks around his car and stands there, in the sun, holding a small bouquet of colourful flowers. His face is serious, save for a small smile he sends your way, and with just one look you can tell something is different. But you don’t know what.
“Hi.” He says when you walk towards him, eyes shining in a new way that confuses you even more.
“Hi, Stevie.” You smile, then tilt your head slightly. “What are you doing here?”
Steve offers you the flowers with a shrug and when you take them from him, his hand holds your wrist gently. “I came to see you, I have to tell you something.”
You look at his hand when it lets go of you, and swallow hard. “I––I do too.” You say, taking a deep breath and looking into his eyes. How is it that he got prettier in just 3 days.
Steve starts to speak but you speak up first, needing to tell him the truth once and for all ––before you chicken out. “I love you Steve. I––I have feelings for you, so many that I can’t hide them anymore. I saw you on Friday at the mall when you were out on a date and it… well it broke my heart.” You shake your head, looking away and to the side.
You gather courage with another deep breath and look at him again. “I didn’t know how to face you without you finding out about my feelings, so I lied about being sick. I’m sorry for lying, I hated it, I hated being away from you too. But I decided to let you know how I felt, regardless of the consequences. I understand if this makes things between us weird.”
Steve shakes his head, holding you free hand. “Babe––”
“Please don’t call me that if you don’t mean it like it means to me, Stevie.” Tears have gathered in your eyes, and you brush them away quickly. “I can’t take it.”
He takes a step closer to you, making the distance between the two of you smaller. You breathe in sharply at the proximity, only to become breathless a second later. “Babe, baby, beautiful, gorgeous, sweetheart.” Steve whispers to you, his eyes adoring and melting you on the spot. “I mean them all, I’ve meant all of them.” Steve confesses and brings his hands up  to cradle your face, his smile is almost shy as he speaks.
At your stunned silence Steve continues, growing more confident. “I love you, I’ve loved you for so long. I only went on a date because I almost kissed you that morning and tried to get over you. And I failed because it’s impossible to get over you.” He shakes his head and closes his eyes. “I’m sorry I hurt you because I never thought you’d feel the same way, you’re way too good for me.”
“No, I’m not.” You shake your head, tears blur your vision for a whole different reason this time. “You deserve everything, Steve.”
“I just need you, only you, babygirl.” His thumb rubs your cheek softly, it makes you close your eyes. “You were gone 3 days and it was hell…I thought I was going to lose you.”
“Stevie.” You whisper. You feel speechless as you stare up at him in wonder and in love, struck with the truth and the relief that you don’t have to give each other up after all. “We’ve been so wrong.”
Steve only nods, understanding the look in your eyes like he’s thinking the same thing. “Gotta make it right.”
You look at his lips then back at his eyes, feeling your face burn when Steve smiles at you.
His pupils dilate as he takes you in, his eyes feeling like a caress everywhere he looks. “I’m yours, baby.” He says softly, “You can kiss me.”
You settle your hands on his shoulders and you lean in, feeling electricity go through your whole body when Steve’s lips touch yours. Every breath on your body leaves you at one, every thought disappears from your mind, and it only leaves room for you to focus on the person in front of you. Your best friend, who’s lips fit so perfectly with yours, you’re not sure how the two of you took so long to take this next step. Because you were both idiots, your mind supplies. You tune it out and wrap your arms around Steve’s neck, pressing your chests together in the process and bringing you even closer. One of Steve’s hands that cradled your cheek moves to the back of your neck, deepening the kiss, and you can’t help the sigh that leaves you. Goosebumps rise on your skin when you feel his tongue brush your bottom lip, his hand tangle in your hair, his teeth lightly catching one of your lips between them. It’s perfect, it overwhelms your senses, it makes you want to stay in this moment forever. You wonder briefly, if this is all a dream but shut that thought down immediately. There’s no way you could conjure up a dream this perfect, a dream that feels so right.
You smile, then laugh when the joy you feel is impossible to hold back, and Steve pulls back with a matching smile of his own. “There it is my girl’s smile. ‘Was going fucking crazy not seeing it for more than a day.” He says.
Your smile brightens, your heart soars inside your chest at how right it all feels. “I missed you, Stevie.”
Steve’s hands drift down to your waist and bring you closer to him; his eyes dark from your kiss softening after a moment. “I missed you more, come back home yeah?”
“I will.” You nod, matching Steve’s shining smile. You hold back a giggle, an idea popping up in your mind just like it did last Friday. “I just have one question.”
“Sure babe.” Steve leans down, his lips placing a couple of barely-there kisses on your cheeks. “Anything.”
“Did you see that updog on the way here?”
“What’s updog?” He asks distracted, lips against your skin.
“Nothing, what’s up with you?” You giggle, and soon start laughing at the look of absolute defeat on Steve’s face. “Told you I’d make you fall for it eventually.”
“Oh come on, I was distracted! You tricked me.”
You cackle as he tries to deny the fact that he fell for your prank and Steve’s eyes squint with determination. His fingers flutter on your waist and you squirm out of his reach, knowing what’s on his mind. There’s no way you’ll let him tickle you. Steve laughs when you start running away to the open field next to the house. He runs after you, following your own laughter, his heart so full it could burst.
You look over your shoulder and smile. “I love you!” You tell him, just because you can, and can’t help but thank fate for this turn of events when Steve yells back:
“I love you.”

YN stirred, her body stretched and arched, she  felt heavy, the kind of heavy similar to waking up after a surgery. When you have to fight just to open your eyes. It felt like a ton of bricks laid on top of her.  Her one hand rubbed at her eyes as the other danced around trying to figure out what she was on. Her mind automatically registering she was on a soft surface.
Within moments her heart started to race as her memory came back to her.
Hours before
“Lloyd please tell me what’s going on” she begged into the phone she had been handed by the tall man in front of her.
It was only moments before when she walked into her loft apartment in Amsterdam’s canal district from her weekly visit to the Van Gogh museum that she found her place flooded with heavily armed men.
She went for her gun in the desk near the front door managing to shoot one of the men in the chest and leg before a man she recognized as Lloyd’s  “acquaintance”, the closest thing he had a friend she ever meet, stepped into her line of sight. Hands up in mock surrender.
He told her he was going to hand her a phone that had Lloyd on the other end, while the wounded man complained about his leg. His vest saving him from a fatal shot.
“Sweetheart I need you to go with them” he told her calmly once it reached her ear.
He was watching from Croatia, he had to admit to himself he was proud she managed to almost kill one of them, they were some of Lloyd’s best men.
“No, not until I know what’s going on Lloyd!” She yelled into the phone. She was scared, she had no clue what was happening and she needed to make other calls before she just disappeared to wherever Lloyd was taking her. People who would worry about her.
He surely hadn’t disclosed all the information about what he did for a living to her.
She looked down at the gun in her hands as she realized she hadn’t been entirely truthfully to Lloyd either but she had her reasons. The rules she lived by that kept her safe.
“I’m sorry sunshine” He said bringing her back to the present moment.
Her eyebrows furrowed at his comment, before she felt the needle prick her neck and arms grab her body as her knees gave out while everything turned black.
Lloyd watched from his seat in his room countries away as her eyes fluttered close and her body went limp, falling into Rick’s arms.
“I’ll say this one more time because I enjoy saying it, anyone other then Rick touches her outside of saving her life, I’ll fucking send your hands home to your mother” Lloyd said smiling at the camera’s as he watched his men  file out of her apartment.
Present
Her eyes snapped open as she took in the room she was in. It was stunning as the late afternoon sun or maybe morning? She wasn’t sure anymore, filtered through the curtains of the large windows. Definitely old, more then a century or two but we’ll taken care of with lots of modern updates. To her right was a set of computers and multi screens with a chair. Everything was black. There was a door open that looked like a bathroom and another open door that looked like a closet with clothes. At the foot of the bed was some clothes and towels. A cart with her favorite fruits and pastries stood not to far from the edge.
Lloyd she gritted out as she swung her legs over the edge of the bed to stand. She had to grab the bed post when her knees slightly bucked. She took a deep breathe as she took her time slowly waking her body up.
She made it to the stand alone tray when she looked down and noticed a note, a simple piece of paper folded and sitting on the plate. Her fingers ran over the smooth paper as she read the handwriting.
“I’ll be back in a few, stay put sunshine”
Her eyes were rolling before she could stop herself as she tossed the note down.
She didn’t bother changing her clothes as she headed to the door of the large bedroom she was in. Pulling the knobs the door sprung up.
There stood 2 men, one on each side of the door, both heavily armed.
One looked down at her before moving his hand to his walkie.
“Don’t you dare!” She said as threatening as she could. She didn’t want Lloyd getting a heads up that she was awake, she knew he’d come right away. She didn’t know where he was or what was going on but she needed a few minutes to try and process this.
Both men shared a look, clearly unsure about what to do now that she was awake.
“Take me to him”
When neither man started to move she scoffed  and turned on her heel heading toward the middle of the long corridor that lead to another.
“Ma’am-“
“If you won’t take me to him, I’ll find him myself!” She yelled over her shoulder.
She had passed countless heavily armed men and women. With each step down the endless hallways her stomach dropped. This place was more fortified then Fort Knox. Everywhere she looked there was people armed, even out the window, helicopters and trucks and stations all armed. People roaming the grounds.
What the fuck was going on? Did the fucking world end and she didn’t know? Was there a zombies apocalypse? She shuttered at the thought, zombie apocalypse was her worse fear.
She needed to find Lloyd so she could find what what was going on. Some of the men and women gave her curious glances and some didn’t seem surprised by her at all.
She couldn’t miss the occasional glare of jealousy from both sex’s,she couldn’t blame them Lloyd was extremely attractive even with his porn stash. Her pussy clenched at the thoughts that ran through her head about how much he lived up to that stash. The man should’ve been a pornstar.
Focus YN! She scolded herself, she couldn’t let her mind wonder when the feeling something really bad had happened spun around her stomach like a roller coaster.
She came to a slow stop in front of a door More men were guarding, one of the men was Rick. She glared at him, still not ok with what took place before.
“Is he in there?”
He nodded yes, his left hand covering her path to the door and his right reaching for his ear piece. She had planned to wait while he contacted whoever, but when she heard yelling that sounded familiar she took her chance and ducked under Rick’s arm and pushed the door open as fast as she could.
She could hear Rick curse under his breathe as he came in after her.
She made it a few feet into the room and out of Rick’s grip when she noticed Lloyd’s familiar frame. The black sweater stretching over his broad back.
“What the fuck is it now” Lloyd yelled before he turned slightly on his heel to see who intruded in on his interrogation.
“Shit” He said under his breathe, he wasn’t used to the feeling that stirred in his stomach, she wasn’t supposed to be here, in this room, right at this moment.
If Lloyd was being completely honest with himself this wasn’t how he planned for this to go, for her to find out this way but there was no undoing what she walked in on.
Her eyes left Lloyd’s, dare she say surprised one’s, to see the man and young girl sitting on the bed. The young girl clutching onto him. It took her a moment to register what she was seeing.
Her sister Claire and Uncle Donald.
Her stomach dropped, what the fuck was going on?! Her uncles hands that were clutching the younger niece were bloody. Bruises littered his face.
It can’t be.
Lloyd wouldn’t.
Why?!
This doesn’t make sense.
“Now sunshine-“ Lloyd spoke as he slowly neared her, she looked spooked like a skittish horse that would run any second.
And she did, right past him, pushing past his out reaching arm. She basically threw herself into her families arms as they held onto her. Her sister clutched to her as she cried.
Lloyd bite his lip at the sting of her pushing past him.
“Oh honey I’m so sorry they go you too” her uncle whispered in her hair.
“Wha-what?” She asked confused with teary eyes. Who got her? He couldn’t be talking about Lloyd. What was Lloyd?
“Honey-“
“Alright that’s enough!” Lloyd yelled stomping towards them.
“Leave her alone!” Her sister yelled, holding her older sister tighter.
“Please tell me what’s going on-“
“He’s-“
“Let’s go sunshine” Lloyd said cutting her uncle off, while grabbing her arm.
Her uncle tried to push Lloyd away only to feel the end of Lloyd gun smashed into his skull. He felt the slight trickled of blood as the impact made him fall back into the bed.
“Lloyd!” YN yelled pushing his arm away from her as she went to aid her uncle.
Another sting Lloyd thought.
“He’s working for the government honey, he was going to kill-”
YN watched in horror as Lloyd’s fist came down on her uncles mouth, instantly blood started to pool in his mouth as he coughed and held his jaw.
“Lloyd!” YN screamed as her sister started to scream and cry.
“Let me go!! Let me go you fucking asshole!” YN yelled as she pushed at his arms.
“Can’t do that sweetheart, now let’s go” Lloyd said hosting her up into his arm. His arm had her hooked by her under arms pulling her backwards.
She kicked and screamed trying to get away from him.
“Calm down!” Lloyd yelled at her as he turned her towards him, holding her by her shoulders.
“No!” She yelled as her hand came across Lloyd’s face, the loud sound of skin on skin contact made the room go still. Everyone held their breathe as they watched for Lloyd’s reaction.
Lloyd could feel the heat rise up his neck, his breathe labored.
Lloyd’s rough hand shot out to grab her jaw, his hand squeezing her face as he pulled her closer to his own face.
Lloyd’s eyes roamed her face as he watched her struggle to pull away from him, her eyes finally reached his, full of tears as she stared at him.
Lloyd’s stomach turned, she looked scared of him and not in the way that turned him on.
If those fuckers would have done their job right this wouldn’t even be happening right now. Lloyd didn’t know if he had the self restraint to not kill his own men who royalty fucked this up for him.
“Fuck this” Lloyd gritted as he threw her over his shoulder.
“Put me down! Stop this right now Lloyd!” YN screamed as the tears fell. She still didn’t really know what was going on, what she did know is Lloyd had her sister and uncle held hostage and now everything about her and Lloyd’s almost 1 years relationship was put into question.
“Don’t touch her you crazy son of a bitch!” Her uncle yelled from the other side of the room.
Lloyd was getting tired of the old man. He could only hold his tongue for so long. A few minutes seemed to be the max.
He turned slight over the shoulder YN wasn’t on and smirked at the older man.
“Oh your a little late Unc, I’ve done nothing but touch her” Lloyd said matter a factly before smacking YN’s ass and jiggling it in his large hand.
“Lloyd!” She yelled as she squirmed in his arms while hitting his back.
“What baby? That was pretty PG for the little sis” Lloyd.
Lloyd winked at her uncle before turning and heading out the door while YN kept screaming “No” and “Put me down”.
“No one fucking does anything to them until I fucking say so, got it?” Lloyd asked Rick as he watched the women struggling on Lloyd’s shoulder.
He just nodding before Lloyd headed down the hallway back the way the young woman had came only minutes ago, so unaware of what was waiting for her.

Ache (Loki)
Since it's a new year, I finally not sure have some courage to post my first fanfic. maybe my only one, idk i might delete this. Who better to start it with than Loki, the first ever marvel "antagonist" that I love more than the hero.
Tumblr media
PAIRING: Soft!Loki x reader
Summary: Loki suddenly disappeared for a week after professing his feelings for you.
reblogs/feedback/likes are much appreciated and highly encourage. DO NOT REPOST/STEAL MY WORK :<
WARNINGS: 18+ MINORS DNI, fluff, angst, smut, oral (f!), reader is insecure, mentions of eating disorder tendency /written during an episode/, sorry for typos or grammar mistakes English isn't my first language. ~any other warnings not mentioned~
WORDS: 3.6k
He pins your wrist to the sides of your head, pressing himself down on you. Wrapping your legs around him and start grinding against him. He smiles deliciously before giving you sensual kiss.
You hear your coworker call out your name making you peek up from your computer. Raising an eyebrow at her, she says "It's almost lunch time, are you coming with us?"
You smile at her and shake your head gently, "No, I'm not hungry." She frowns at your answer.
"I'll bring back a sandwich for you to munch on." She huffs and then waves goodbye. Wanda is so sweet, she always looks out for you.
You look around as almost everyone left the office. Resting your head on your desk and dishing out your phone from your drawer, unlocking it to see no new notification.
The last message he's sent you... You close your eyes to try and not cry. You put your phone in your bag, maybe that would prevent you from checking it for nothing. Stretching your arms, and going back to work.
About an hour later, Wanda returned, as well as everybody in the office.
"Here, bubs. I am not letting you not take care of yourself." She crosses her arms after she hands you the sandwich she's brought.
"Tuna?" You ask, holding the sandwich. She nods happily. "Thank you." You say, hoping she goes back to her cubicle. Instead she sits down on your desk, as if to make sure that you actually ate the food.
You sighed and opened the plastic container. As you ate the sandwich, she tells you about her workout coach, she seems to like him.
"Every time I catch a glimpse of the way he's muscle flexes, oh I just want to 'tire' him out." She winks, okay maybe she likes him a lot.
"So, y/n, any progress on your end?" She wriggles her eyebrows at you and you raise yours, wondering what she's talking about.
You wipe your mouth before saying, "You mean the Starks Industries? I'm almost done with it. There's not a lot of discrepancies in their accounts." Then you discarded the sandwich container into your trash bin.
"No, about that Laufeyson heir. Have you heard from him?" She looks at you. You bit the inside of my lower lip. "Nothing. I don't think he'll contact me anytime soon." You say leaning back on your chair, trying your best to not show any disappointment.
"That's incredibly rude of him, you're a complete catch. After your dates, you glow like the sun. He better message you." She says gesturing and then huffing after. You just smile at her. How is she so invested, you could not care less about him, or at least that's what you tell yourself.
"Thank you, Wanda." You hold her arm, she pats your hand softly.
"I'll go back now." She says then leaves.
Hours pass by and your finally done with the report. Inserting the Stark file into the system, and emailing your boss. She needs to check it over once more and sign it away.
You check your phone again and nothing, shoving it down your bag. "I don't care. He's not that attractive anyways." You whisper to yourself.
It's not like you connect over your love of reading, or watching movies. Hanging out with him, almost every day, wasn't that fun anyways. You don't like him at all. No, not at all
Your phone pings, and you nervously rummage through your bag to grab your phone. Unlocking it and the message was from your sister, reminding you of family dinner on Wednesday. You sent an 'okay' text and put it back. You huffed, fine maybe you are a bit disappointed.
You check up on the email your boss sent back, telling you that the report is perfect and is on its way to Stark Industries. You feel relieved, and sink your head on your desk.
He bites down on your neck, as he thrust from behind. Burying your face into the pillows, as his arms hold you firmly. Pleasure runs high with every languid thrust.
You shake your head away from that memory.
The clock rings softly, signaling 5pm. You decided to stay a bit longer just because, you don't really have any plans today.
Wanda waves goodbye at you. She's always so excited to leave work since she's meeting up with her workout coach after.
You check as much as you can on another client's file, but there's so many wrong computations that you give it up for today and just continue tomorrow. You gather your things and head towards the elevator.
Your phone pings, then it rings. You check it and his name flashes on the screen. Taking a deep breath, you slide to answer the call. The elevator door opens and you get in, nodding and smiling at your coworkers.
"Hey, Y/N." You can hear the smile on his voice. Your heart races at his voice, throat running dry as you try to swallow nothing.
"Hi." You say shortly, as if you're trying to be nonchalant at his sudden disappearance.
"Hm. Are you free?" He asks, knowing full well that your off work. The elevator reaches the ground floor and you step out into the lobby.
"Kind of, why?" You don't want to seem eager to see him, correction, you don't want to see him at all.
When you reach the entrance to the building, you caught the familiar figure standing against a sleek black car.
"I'm at your building." He says before hanging up. He pushes himself off the car, his shirt crinkling a bit as his muscles flexes. He wore the best fitting pair of pants and a nice suit jacket that matches with it hanging over his shoulder.
You walk up to him, biting the inside of your lower lip. Your heart continues pounding, and your stomach is filling up with butterflies.
He opens the passenger seat and you get in. He walks around the front and sits on the driver's seat.
He starts driving and you sit in silence. You don't know what to say to him. He's the one that stopped calling. A bit petty, maybe.
"Are you hungry?" He asks, breaking the silence. "Not really." You answer immediately. You can already see the corner's of his lips raising trying to control his smile.
"Wanda said you only had a sandwich for lunch. I don't think that can fuel you well, Darling." You raise an eyebrow at him, although the nickname was making you flip, you try to keep your composure.
"We met outside the building." he answers, his eyes focused on the road.
"How long have you been waiting outside?" You ask. Wanda left as soon as the clock ticked 5, you sat and spent an hour or so to look over another client's report.
"A bit before Wanda went out." He says, a bit meaning he was there for a long time. What do I do with this guy? Why is he wasting his time after not calling for a few days?  You ask yourself.
What are you doing?
"Something interesting in your mind? You're eyebrows are in knots." He must've turn for a glance.
You're debating whether to ask him about what happened a few days ago and that thing. You don't think he meant it when he said it since he ignored you a few days later.
"So, what have you been up to these days? I had a really busy week, but I'd like to hear yours first." He starts, pulling you out of the thoughts.
"Typical, I went to work." You say. "How about you?"
He smirks, he knows he can't force you out of short replies but maybe he can coax you to speak some more. "I went on a family retreat." You closed your eyes, realizing why he hadn't contacted you. "It was a hard week, but I'm used to it since we do it every year since I was in high school." you stare at him, dumbfounded. You felt horrible for jumping through every conclusion.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about it, sometimes I just forget trivial things when I'm with you." He looks at you with intense sincerity.  He holds out his hand and you take it.
"Were you upset with me?" He asks. You didn't answer, you're not entirely sure. You feel bad for doubting him but he should've mentioned it. Especially since it's a little tradition in his family.
"Hmm." He seems like he's waiting for your answer, since he squeezes your hand three times.
"Where are we going?"  You ask, trying to change the subject. The black-tinted windows barely showing the city lights.
"Where do you want to go? I just want to eat." He says. He always makes you pick out where to eat
"Have you tried 'Happy's Haus', we can just take it out. I don't want to stay there." You say quietly, "Then we can go to your place and eat it there." You say even quieter, almost like a whisper.
"Sure sure." He replies, a smile on his face.
Moments later, he pulls up to the drive-thru of 'Happy's Haus' and you order. It wasn't a long wait and you get your order a few minutes later.
You stayed silent the whole ride towards his house. You don't know what to say as the butterflies in your stomach made their way to your throat. Drinking the take-out soda didn't help one bit.
The gates open automatically as he pulls up in the drive way. You'll never get used to him having a house in his name, not rental. Most people your age, just rent out apartments or condos. There's so much incentive to being rich.
You open your side of the door, picking up the take-out bags as well.
He makes sure that the car is locked then walks up to you, holding out his hands as if to bring the bags.
"You have to open the door." You say. "I don't know how."
He hands you a key to his house as he grabs the bags. "That's your copy." He says, your eyes widening in surprise.
His house is always so clean, does he have it clean everyday? You follow him into the kitchen. He sets down the bags and you take them out onto the table.
"Next time, I'll cook for you. For now, I'm really hungry." He unwraps his food and starts eating. You just stare at him as he munches down the food.
For the 3 months you've dated, you told him about your tendencies which is probably why he wants to eat with you all the time. It may seem patronizing at times, but you know he means well.
You finish up your food, well most of it at least.
You wrap it all back up and put it back in the bag. He takes it and goes into the kitchen. You follow behind him.
"Some wine?" He offers, holding up a bottle of red. You shrug. "Why not?"
He hands you the bottle then he takes out two glasses. "Let's watch a movie." He suggests. You proceed into the living room.
He opens the bottle and pours it into your glasses. You flip through every movie mentioning their title until you decided on one.
You sat almost a seat away from each other, enjoying the wine and the movie.
Which is a lie, well, for you at least. The wine is nice but you couldn't concentrate on the movie. There's too many things that your mind is thinking about. Like, Why did he give me a copy of his key?
"Your thoughts are louder than this movie, darling." You almost choked on air. Did I say something out loud?
"Hmm?" You voiced, looking over to him as if you got distracted from the movie. He turns off the TV and sets his wine glass down. He gestures at your glass and  you hand it to him, he sets it down as well.
"What's on your mind, darling? I just want to know." He scooches closer and holds your hand.
"Nothing, I was just trying to watch the movie." Liar, you fiddle with his hand while the silence crept in.
"I know you've been thinking a lot, your hangnails are almost ripped, I don't mean to be rude but you've been mumbling as well. I just can't make up what you're trying to say." He says, squeezing your hand.
"A lot of them... I can answer myself, so it's fine." You say biting the inside of your lower lip.
"I know you can, but I'd like to know some of them, too." He says. Am I being unfair with keeping my thoughts to myself?
"Hmm," You open your mouth just to close it again.
"Come on, darling. I just want to make it up to you." He moves closer, your thighs touching and his warmth is immediately soothing. He kisses your knuckles, waiting for you to respond.
I guess we can start with the recent one. "Why... why did you give me a key to your house?" You don't want to assume, maybe he just needs you to hold it for him when he loses his copy.
"Well, I just want you to have it because I trust you." He answers. "What else?" He pulls your calves to rest on his thighs.
"Last week, when you said... what you said. What do you mean by that?" You closed your eyes, trying to prepare yourself from the inevitable. You feel his hands on your calves, softly soothing and massaging them.
"You mean when I told you my feelings for you? What's there to misconstrue? Y/N, I know for some it's weird to say it out right but I don't expect you to say it back, I just wanted you to know." He holds your chin up. His eyes glistening with sincere adoration.
"You're a wonderful person, Y/N. It's hard to come by someone like you." He says. You pull away, holding your tears back. Why am I about to cry?
"I..." Your throat is filling up with more of the pesky butterflies. "I'm sorry." He furrows his eyebrows, almost taken aback.
"I'm sorry, I doubted you. I was upset and it was a really weird timing. We've known each other for all of 3 months. I have way too many insecurities that it might've scared you away..." Tears pricked your eyes, you look away as you blink multiple times.
"I thought you only said that after our first time having sex. I doubted even more since you disappeared for a week. I thought I wasted time and feelings for 3 months." You bring your hand to your mouth to stop your rambling.
He pulls your hand back down, cupping your chin to make you look at him. At the moment your eyes meet his, your tears fell. His hands cup your face, thumbs wiping your tears. You lean into the comfort of his touch.
"I'm sorry I made you upset." He smiles a little, your eyebrows furrowing. "It's inappropriate that I'm kind of happy, but it's rare that you bear your feelings outright. I just wish you can tell me more about it, its hard to read you at times." He pulls you into his embrace.
The steady beat of his heart calms you down. You pull away a little to look up at him. "I just haven't had the best luck in dating, I've had similar experiences where I bared my all and they left me because of it. I just don't want to scare you away with my emotions." You paused. "But Loki, I like you as well."
"Last week was a weird rollercoaster of emotions for me. I didn't want to message you first since I knew you were busy with work, but when you weren't contacting me during our regular times it threw me off. I started thinking the worst case scenarios to which I cannot do anything." You bury your face in his chest, his warmth even more comforting.
"I thought maybe you've gotten what you wanted and then left. Maybe I wasn't responsive enough that it turned you off." He chuckles at that. "I just overthink a lot and a lot of people don't want someone whose always thinking of the worst case scenarios." you took a deep breath.
"I can't stop you from overthinking, I can't change that, that's you. I can't say that I don't do the same but I feel that I can trust you enough..." He trails off.
"About the responsive thing, I-- you were perfect as you are." He laughs nervously. His voice becoming hoarser.
Your eyes meet and you can tell what's on his mind. "You can't turn me off of you." He says, almost whispers it to you.
You glance at his lips then back to his eyes. He inches in closer, and you do the same.
"Can I kiss you?" He asks. "Yes please." You say before closing in and linking your lips.
His hand at your nape, cradling your head as if he can pull you in any closer. His other hand still holding yours. His tongue slides between your lips, fighting for dominance until you gave in.
You pull away to catch your breath. You've made out so many times but he never fails to take your breath away with his hot and heavy kisses.
"It's hard to move in these clothes." You murmur.
"Do you want to get changed? You can use my clothes." He points his thumb towards his room.
"Sometimes you read me so well but there are times that you have no clue." You say, standing up and removing your blouse.
You pull him up to continue the kiss. His hands caress your upper body. You pull at his shirt. He takes this as a hint and you continue to make out. He pulls you closer, trying to feel you more. He unzips your pants as he trails down his kisses.
He kneels in front of you and peels your pants off. You stepped out of it.
He kisses your legs then your inner thighs. You inhale sharply as he grazed your slit against your underwear. His finger hooks into your underwear and removes it agonizingly slow. Your slick connecting to the fabric of your panties in a single strand. You watch as he licks his lips. You catch his eyes and his blown out pupils stares back you, hungry.
You stood there almost naked, with him still kneeling in front of you.
With his eyes still locked with yours, his fingers found it way towards your opening. He slides it up and down, pulling it away and licking the wetness off.
You feel your face getting warm. He rests your leg on his shoulder. His breath fanning at your exposed self. He drags his tongue from your slit to your clit, making you shudder in bliss as his lips close around your nub. Closing your eyes to feel this pleasure.
Soft gentle sucks and his fingers prodding at your entrance. You moan when you find him looking intently at you. You clasp your fingers at his black locks, gently pulling as you feel your knees grow weaker at the increasing pleasure.
"Loki..." You moan out his name when his fingers curled and wrist twisted so perfectly pressing at your spot. You legs felt like jelly as you almost fell onto him.
He pushed you back to the couch, your feet rests on the couch at the either side of your legs. His hands firmly holding them open at your ankles.
He latches his lips back to your opening. The once languid licks turns ravenous, he eats you like a starved man.
You grab at his shoulders, then his arms and back at his hair. Unsure whether you want to push him away or pull him closer.
He lets go of one your ankles to bring his fingers back into your core. Fingers thrusting at the rhythm of his tongue. You clench at his fingers and squirm underneath him.
He's relentless, and you feel it, the impending snap of the coil in your stomach. He groans into you and with a brush of his curled fingers on your spot, you exploded in your euphoria.
Shaking, he continues to eat you out. "L-Loki, please." You feel his smirk. He lets go of your other ankle, waving his forefinger at you as he continues to eat his fill.
You feel a second wave coming. You close your legs around his head but he continues to lap at you. Effectively making you pull harder at his hair when you come a second time.
He continues his sweet torture, for a third, a fourth, you've lost count. You've surrendered to the pleasure of his overstimulation. Spasming every so often as he pulls orgasms after orgasms at you.
He slows his pace, softly kissing your swollen clit. Wet kisses to your inner thighs. He licks up your torso then the soft spot on your neck.
Your fingers laced at his hair, "You taste so good, I couldn't help myself." He whispers to your ear. Kissing your lobe, cheek and your lips. Slow, sensual and passionate.
"I think I might be in love with you, Darling." He whispers when he's caught his breath, leaning his forehead against yours. You close your eyes, a smile breaking at your lips as you pull him closer.
thanks you so much for reading :>

❝ miya atsumu - @notatsumu ❞
Tumblr media Tumblr media
in which your boyfriend has a finsta, he just doesn’t know that you know about it,, until you slip up
Tumblr media
an - this is for @4kinor1 because she got married to atsumu today and she’s hot <3
Tumblr media
giggling to himself, atsumu let himself fall back on the spacious shared bed with his phone in his hands above his face. a wide smile was spread across his face as he stared at the screen. the luminous light flickered in reflection to his eyes as he failed to tear his eyes away.
to anyone else, it’s would’ve looked like the blonde was just staring at any old instagram feed. you on the other hand, knew exactly what he was staring at and it warmed your heart everytime you caught him on his phone staring at certain content. recently, you had discovered atsumu had a whole finsta account only he allowed himself to follow. how you found it? his username wasn’t exactly complex and considering he only followed 96 people on the social media platform on his main account, it wasn’t a surprise the account name ‘@notatsumu’ had come up in your suggestions.
you didn’t mean to discover he had a whole finsta account littered of and with you photos of you, but you did and the fact was confirmed to you a while ago when atsumu had handed you his phone to search something up, but had forgotten to close out of the account. obviously it caught your eye and it would’ve been weirder to not look; so you did just that. a faint guilt crept up inside of you as you scrolled through the multiple photos your boyfriend had captured and posted for himself to look back on, but it simultaneously filled your heart knowing he thought to do such a thing. to keep a social diary for himself of the thing he loved the most; you.
that was the first and last time you saw the account. you never opened it again because atsumu never left an open opportunity to do so like he did the first time. you already felt fulfilled enough knowing exactly what it was that brought him so much joy whilst looking at his phone. there was a particular glint the setter caught in his eye whenever you noticed him looking at his own account or uploading a thread of new photos to it.
“tsumu!” you called out making him jump. the phone slipped out of his hands and landed flat on his face resulting in a very distressed atsumu. “fuck!” he yelped letting the phone slide off his face and onto the floor as he brought both hands up to cup his own face.
immediately, you rushed over to his side where you replaced his hands with your own, cooing soft apologies and pressing warm kisses over his face. “i forgive ya don’t worry.” he assured you, relishing in the attention you were showering him with.
phone nearly forgotten about on the floor, atsumu brought his hands up to cup your own face as he smiled warmly at you. his whole world right above his head, your eyes providing as the universe with twinkling stars. grabbing for the device on the floor, atsumu held the phone up and shamelessly snapped the sight before him as you laughed. “mugshot.” he muttered as if it would cover his tracks.
you smiled and shook your head. “caption it something nice okay?” your comment just a passing one but atsumu’s eyes widened as he halted. “pardon?” he quirked an eyebrow as you stated at him from below. realising your mistake, you hands flew to your mouth.
“what?” you airily laughed in attempts to brush off your slip up hoping he wouldn’t notice. “caption it? why would i caption it?” his tone curious with traces of panic.
“just in case you wanna post it on your instagram or something.” you cautiously spoke, each sentence risky as if your words were keeping you on thin ice and one wrong move could send you through and into the cold and piercing water.
“my main?” he pressed on unknowingly leaving you an opening. “you have another account other than your main?” you feigned curiosity as atsumu’s frown tugged a little more.
“hm maybe.” he replied turning his phone off and putting it down on the bedside table beside him. catvcube you off guard, atsumu’s hand reached your waist as he suddenly pulled you onto the bed on top of him where he held your hips firmly in place. “but ya knew that already, didn’t ya?” a smirk crept on on his face as you felt your cheeks warm up.
you didn’t know how to reply. should you confess to your knowledge of his account? should you keep feigning ignorance? you weren’t too sure but your boyfriends grip on you told you he was going to get the responses he wanted one way or another. his fingers began moving as you felt the familiar feeling of your boyfriends persistence begin. you squirmed on top of him as he bang tickling your sides.
“admit it, ya knew i had another instagram.” he demanded, smirk still present on his face. your laughs filled the room as atsumu’s heart filled with joy. “n-no!” you continued ignorance as you felt your body begin to ache from the constant distraction of atsumu’s fingers. “liar!” he whined as he showed no mercy.
tears began streaming down your face as your stomach began to hurt. giving in you held your hands up and tried to catch your breath. “o-okay! okay t-tsumu i-i knew!” you sighed in relief as atsumu’s movements came to a halt, an embarrassed smile now taking form on his face.
“it was an accident though, you left it open when you gave me your phone one time and i, well i saw.” you admitted, heat rising to your face once more.
atsumu bit the inside of his cheek as he turned away a little, bashfulness building up. “ya don’t think... it’s weird... do ya?” he queered, eyes averting from your own.
dismissing his insecurity you gasped and shook your head profusely. “no, no, no! tsumu, no it’s not weird! i actually think... it’s kinda cute.” your voice genuine threaded with the thinnest thread of embarrassment yourself. to have someone love you as much as atsumu did, you were bound to get a little flustered sometimes. he was good at doing that.
“ya sure? cause i can delete it if you-“
“-atsumu. i love you. it’s not weird.” you cupped the sides of his face as he stared up at you with adoration. his love grew for you by the second. the lengths he had gone to in attempts to cover his social activity seemed stupid now. there was never a need to hide it from you. this was just his love language and now he felt bad from depriving you of hearing it.
“sorry.” he muttered, calloused hand reaching up to interlock with one of your own resting on his face. you smiled as shook your head. “no, i’m sorry for intruding on your personal things. i should’ve closed it down myself.” you assured him as his eyes twinkled, his love for you forever expanding.
lowering yourself so you were pressed against his chest, you pressed your lips upon atsumu’s warm ones as he melted into your touch. only you had this effect on him. nobody else ever able to compare to the way you made him feel. you were the only one with the key to the cage of butterflies situated inside of him, unlocked whenever you were around him. the feeling of his heart glowing only ever occurred when you were involved. you quite literally made him brighter. his smile wider and crinkles under his eyes more prominent. miya atsumu was hopeless when it came to you.
pulling away, atsumu sighed as he rested a hand against your cheek, thumb lovingly swiping over your cheekbone.
“i love ya.” he confirmed, nothing but genuine and raw love evident in his tone.
“i love you too tsumu.” you replied softly, the same adoration he held for you clear in your own eyes.
you stayed like that just for a few moments, the feeling of natural but solid love blanketing over the two of you as your boyfriend held you tighter in his arms, his whole world exactly where he needed it to be.
“i’d love you even more if you let me be your second follower though.” you spoke up cheekily, a grin creeping up on your face.
and how was atsumu’s supposed to say no when you looked like that?

Word Count: 4.7k
Pairing: Daveed Diggs x Reader
Warnings: smut. cursing.
Summary: Diggs loses a bet which results in him owing you a lap dance.
Tumblr media
Parties at Rafa’s place were always the best; the drinks were great, the music was amazing, the atmosphere was never dull, but the best part about them were the incredible people that made up each one; you were never bored. There was always something to do whether you were talking to people, dancing, playing drinking games, or just drinking in general. And that’s why whenever you were told that there was going to be a party at Rafael Casal’s apartment, you never turned it down...even if you ended up showing up late.
“Well, look at who finally decided to show up.” You heard a familiar voice say as you walked through the door to Rafa’s place. Daveed grinned widely at you before he slid an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close to him as you walked deeper into the apartment. “My favorite!”
Daveed was one of your closest friends and if you were being honest, it would have been a lie if you said you didn’t want him to become something more than that. The two of you often flirted and were constantly together (these occurrences happened so often that there were many times people believed you were dating), but neither of you had made a real move. You knew how you felt toward him, and he was giving you signs that he felt the same way, but no true actions were made by either party. So that’s why it stayed the way it was between you two: just close friends who often flirted with each other.
“Aw, I’m your favorite?” You asked, raising your voice so he could hear you over the loud music that was pumping through Rafa’s speakers.
“Uh, yeah,” he stated as if it was obvious, “but don’t tell anyone else. It’s a secret between you and me.” He whispered in your ear as you entered the kitchen.
Yeah, he had definitely downed a few drinks before you got here.
“Diggs, I’m pretty sure everyone heard you when you shouted it.” You laughed as you plucked the cup half-full of alcohol from his grasp, draining it of its contents. He pouted at you once you handed him back an empty cup.
“Y/N, hey! It’s been forever since I’ve seen you!” Adrienne said from beside Rafa who was pouring out a few drinks.
“Hey!” You pulled away from Daveed’s grasp to give her a hug. She’d been away in Canada for the last few weeks shooting for a new project she was working on. “I’ve missed you! Why’d you have to leave me alone to deal with these boys for so long?”
Adrienne laughed while Rafael furrowed his eyebrows.
“Oh, so you didn’t miss me? I see how it is, Y/N, I see how it is.” He feigned hurt, before pushing a couple of newly filled cups towards you and Daveed.
You rolled your eyes at him. “We had lunch a few days ago, Cash, it hasn’t been that long since I’ve seen you.”
“But so much has changed since then.”
You chuckled before taking a sip. “Like what? Did you finally finish that song you’ve been working on?”
“No.” Rafael replied before he smiled at Adrienne beside him. “Unlike Diggs, I am no longer a single and lonely Bay Boy.”
Daveed’s eyebrows furrowed as he cocked his head. “Yo, who said I was lone—?”
“You guys are finally together? Oh my god, congrats!” You cut in with widened eyes.
They both grinned at each other before Rafa leaned down to kiss her forehead.
“Aww,” you gushed, “you two are couple goals already.”
A few seconds passed before you felt Daveed’s arm drape around your shoulders again.
“You know, we could be couple goals too.” He said, looking down at you with a smirk.
You rolled your eyes, pushing him away. “Ha, you wish, Diggs.”
You laughed it off because you knew he was too tipsy to be serious. He always flirted with you like this, but why did this time feel so different?
A few drinks later, you were beginning to feel the familiar light-hearted, buzzing feeling course throughout your body, giving you a boost of energy. You had drifted away from Daveed and Rafa to roam through the house and catch up with people you hadn’t seen since your Hamilton days. You were talking with Adrienne and Ari when you heard your name being called from behind you.
“Aye, Y/L/N!”
You turned your head to see Daveed standing next to a table a few feet away.
“Diggs!” You responded in the same playful tone.
He grinned at you before waving you over. “Come play Flip Cup with me.”
“Really?” You quirked an eyebrow. “You lose every time you play against me, D.”
“I’m feeling confident today. I’ve been practicing.”
You tried not to laugh as you rose from your seat and approached him. “Practicing?”
“Bruh,” Rafa snickered at his friend from the other end of the table. “You played a few games before this and won two in a row. That ain’t practicing.”
You let a smug grin show up on your face as you glanced back up at your best friend. “Daveed, I am the queen of Flip Cup, okay? You can’t beat me. Nobody ever has, and nobody ever will. That’s a fact.”
“I’m pretty sure I can beat you today, Y/N.” He said bluntly. Wow, he was forward when he was drunk. “I have a good feeling about this.”
“Ha,” you huffed out a laugh, “wanna bet?"
“What do you propose, oh mighty Queen of Flip Cup?”
You thought for a second. What was something you knew would make him think twice about challenging you? Something that would make him step down from this newfound cockiness he embodied.
When the idea formed in your head, you sent him a sly grin. “Winner gets a lap dance from the loser.”
You distinctly remembered an earlier conversation with him where he stated that he couldn’t dance. You knew it was untrue due to the times you’d seen him dance at the club or during some of the numbers in Hamilton, but you also knew that the wager wasn’t something he’d necessarily jump on (despite the confidence boost the alcohol had supplied him).
Rafa led the mini crowd that had formed around you in a chorus of “ooo”s.
“Deal.”
You looked up at Daveed in surprise. You hadn’t expected him to agree to the terms so easily.
“Diggs, that means if you lose— sorry, when you lose, you have to give me a lap dance.”
“I know.” He said seriously.
“And you’re good with that?”
“If it happens, which it won’t because I’m gonna win, then yes.” He stated, his mouth forming into a confident smile. “I’m good with that.”
Fine, he wanted a challenge? You were going to give him one.
“Alright, then.” You said, narrowing your eyes at him. “Game on."
⋆﹥━━━━━━━   ♛   ━━━━━━━﹤⋆
Daveed lost. Badly.
So badly, in fact, that you actually felt bad for him. So you tweaked it so it was the best out of five games...and even then, he still lost.
Oh well, it’s not like you didn’t warn him.
When the third game ended and Daveed realized his defeat, he threw his head back and groaned.
“Aww, don’t be such a sore loser. You lost fair and square, Diggs. ” You teased with a smile, wrapping your arms around his torso to hug him from behind. “I warned you. I told you I was the queen of Flip Cup, but you didn’t listen.”
“Those cups were rigged, Y/N.” He stated, turning around in your grasp so he could hug you back.
You laughed, rolling your eyes. “Say whatever you want to make yourself feel better. Nothing’s gonna change the fact that you owe me a lap dance.”
He was quiet for a moment before he murmured something. “You know I can’t dance, right?”
“First of all, yes you can. And secondly, lap dances are different, Diggs.”
“No, they’re not.”
“Yes they are. And if you don’t think they’re different, you dance at parties all the fucking time. You should be able to handle an easy lap dance.”
He lifted his head back up from your shoulder to look down at you. “But Y/N...”
You let out a laugh before you patted his cheek lightly. “You dug yourself into this hole, loser. Guess you’re just gonna have to figure it out because you’re not getting out of this one.”
⋆﹥━━━━━━━   ♛   ━━━━━━━﹤⋆
The next day you woke up to someone knocking on your door. In sweats and an old t-shirt, you made your way over to unlock it, squinting your eyes to adjust to the bright light. The slight hangover you had wasn’t really helping you get out of your groggy state.
“Daveed?” You asked, realizing who your visitor was once your vision adjusted. “What are you doing here so early?”
He was dressed in a yellow Oaklandish tank top that showed off his toned arms/shoulders and dark blue jeans with a brown belt buckled just enough to let them sit loosely on his hips. You also noticed that he decided to rock his glasses today.
You snapped your eyes up to his and away from his figure that left you breathless. You totally had not just checked him out.
“If your definition of early is 2 o’clock in the afternoon, I think you may need to reevaluate some things and consider fixing that sleep schedule of yours.” He replied with his lips turning up into an amused grin.
“Shut up, I had a late night last night.” You mumbled, turning around to walk away, leaving the door open so he could let himself into your apartment. “And you did too. I’m surprised you’re not asleep right now.” You glanced back at him to see him shrug.
“I had to meet Bill and Jon at the studio at 10. I’ve been up since, like, 9:30.”
“Damn, Diggs, you’re gonna have to teach me your ways.”
“Caffeine.” He chuckled, putting on his signature grin. “It works miracles.”
You returned the smile, before sending him a curious look. “So, why are you here? Not that I mind or anything, it’s good to see you, but you haven’t been over in like a month and a half.”
“Exactly! It’s been awhile since we’ve hung out alone, so I thought it’d be dope if we chilled and watched movies or something.” He replied before he went to ramble on. “I mean— only if you want to. If you’re really tired, I can leave so you can get some more sl—”
“No, no, it’s fine! That sounds great.” You cut him off and placed a hand on one of his toned arms to reassure him.
“You sure?”
“Yeah!” You responded. “Just let me take a quick shower and we can start in like 20ish minutes.”
“A 20 minute shower counts as a quick shower?” He questioned with a teasing look.
“Yes,” you said, “or would you rather it be 45ish minutes?”
“20ish minutes is good. Have fun with your quick shower. Though, I think it would be more fun if I joined.” A tiny but noticeable smirk made its way onto Daveed’s face.
You laughed when he sent you a playful wink, dropping your hand from his arm to walk towards your room. “You wish, Daveed Diggs.”
“You have no idea.” He mumbled under his breath (inaudible to your ears) before he let his eyes follow your retreating figure.
“Maybe you could set up the movie in the meantime? It’s your turn to choose. The remote’s on the coffee table and you know where the popcorn and shit is in the kitchen. I’ll be out soon. If you need anything, yell.” You said before closing the door to your room.
Daveed sent a thumbs up in your direction even though he knew you couldn’t see it before he made his way to your living room.
Little did you know, Daveed had something else planned.
⋆﹥━━━━━━━   ♛   ━━━━━━━﹤⋆
When you emerged from your shower, you quickly dried yourself and combed through your now damp hair. After that, you exited your room and entered your living room to see that it was completely dark. Confused, you surveyed the room to look for your best friend, but there was no sign of him at all.
Did he leave? If he did, he didn’t text you or anything to let you know.
“D?” You called out, walking further into the room.
With each step you took, the more you realized how this seemed like a scene from a horror film. You weren’t a fan of them, but a few months back Daveed and Rafael had pretty much forced you to have a scary movie marathon with them.
“Daveed Diggs, I swear to God. If you’re trying to scare me right now, I will—”
You squeaked when a pair of arms snaked their way around your waist from behind. Daveed’s voice had come seemingly from out of nowhere. “You’ll what?”
“Kick your ass.” You glared at him, quickly turning around to push him away. “What the hell is wrong with you?!”
He laughed, smiling brightly. “I’m sorry, Y/N.”
“No, you’re not.” You grumbled, moving to sit on your couch. Daveed followed you.
“You right. It was so worth it.” He grinned at you, causing you to roll your eyes at him. You tried to stay mad at him, but it was damn near impossible when he was looking at you like that.
“We’re not friends anymore.” You stated, crossing your arms.
“What, why?” He asked, his grin dropping into a pout.
“You were mean to me, Diggs! How dare you scare me in my own home!” You were laughing internally.
“Okay, fine. I’m sorry for real this time. What can I do to make it up to you?”
When he asked, you contemplated it for a few moments before you looked up at him with a smirk.
“What?” He asked.
“Well, you still owe me that lap dance…”
He groaned, closing his eyes and letting his head fall back on the couch. “I thought you forgot about that.”
“Nope.” You said, your smirk forming into a smug grin. You had the upper hand now. “How could I forget you losing a bet against me, resulting in a lap dance from the great Daveed Diggs himself?”
After a couple of seconds, he sighed, opening his eyes and tilting his face towards you. “If I do this now, will I win back your friendship?”
“I’ll think about it.” You said, causing him to give you a deadpanned look. You laughed before you spoke again. “Yeah, I guess we could be friends again. But it has to be good.”
Daveed sighed again before he straightened himself up. “I don’t even know how to give a good lap dance, Y/N.”
“Improvise. C’mon, D, you’re great at improv. Treat it like you treat a freestyle. Just go with the flow.” You smiled widely at him.
“Fine.” He said, getting up from his spot next to you. “But I’m only pulling through with this because I like you.”
“Aww, you like me?” You asked teasingly to mask the actual feeling that was coursing through you. You continued to grin at him as he pulled out his phone to scroll through his music library. When he finally settled on a song by The Weeknd, he turned to you once he pressed play.
“Do I start now?”
“Yes,” you laughed. “C’mon, you know how a lap dance works. You’re not a novice when it comes to these things, stop fucking around.”
You could see him smile and rub his arm before he looked away for a second. When he started to slowly sway to the beat of the song, it was extremely hard for you to stifle your laugh. Your best friend was about to give you a lap dance and you could not take him seriously.
He continued to dance to the beat for a bit as he stared you down with a smirk. He was doing this shit on purpose. He was joking around until you couldn’t contain your laughter any longer.
“Diggs, I can’t take you seriously like this. I can—” You wheezed. “I just can’t.”
Your laughter and the slow, sexy beats of the music were the only audible things in your apartment until Daveed spoke again.
“Are you ready for me, Y/N?” His smooth, low voice washed over you.
You let out yet another giggle. “Don’t make it sound so sexual.”
“It's supposed to sound sexual, Y/N, it’s a fucking lap dance.” He chuckled, now standing directly in front of you.
“Alright, show me what you got, Bay Boy.”
You continued to laugh at him as you watched him, but the moment he straddled your lap, you stopped. His arms were on each side of your head, using the couch to steady himself over you as his hips began to slowly grind against you. That’s when the atmosphere in the room completely changed.
Your eyes widened slightly when you saw him bite his bottom lip in concentration. When you envisioned Daveed giving you a lap dance the night prior, you didn’t think it would be like this...it was flustering you more than you thought it would. Before you knew it, you were struggling to control your movements. Your fists were clenching and unclenching as you so desperately tried to keep them anchored to your sides.
As if he had read your mind, Daveed murmured, “You can touch me, Y/N. Don’t be afraid.”
If you weren’t turned on before, you definitely were now. His gravelly voice paired with his hot breath right next to your ear caused you to shiver, making goosebumps appear across your entire body.
Then, you finally let your hands wander. They traveled up his chest to rest on his shoulders, then back down again to move under the hem of his tank top so you could feel his bare and strong torso. Sure it was a bold move, but the more and more Daveed grinded on you, the less and less you cared. When his tank top rode up to the point where you could see all of his abs, he paused to stand up and quickly get rid of the article of clothing before he came back to straddle you again.
Your heart was beating wildly in your chest as you looked up at your best friend. He looked undeniably attractive when he was on top of you shirtless and with his glasses on. Every feeling you had ever felt for him came crashing down on you at that moment and that’s when you just about lost your self-control. Part of your brain was screaming at you, saying that you were about to cross a line that you could never cross again...but at the same time, all of your cares had disappeared.
You used your newfound courage to cup Daveed’s face in both of your hands and pull him into a deep kiss. He gasped softly, surprised at the sudden contact, but quickly eased into it.
You had just passed the point of no return.
You didn’t know what to expect when you decided to kiss him, but it was better than you could have imagined. When you pulled back, his mouth was slightly dropped in awe and one of the sides slowly twitched up into a soft smile. (It was kind of adorable.)
“Daveed, I like you.” You blurted, short of breath.
His face broke out into a full grin. “I like you too, Y/N.”
“No,” you shook your head, moving your hands from his cheeks down to his shoulders. “I mean like— like like you.”
“I know,” he chuckled. “I mean, I figured given what just happened a few seconds ago. Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
You shrugged, breaking eye contact with him. You subconsciously traced one of your thumbs across his collarbone. “I was afraid of rejection, I guess.”
“Are you serious?”
“What?” You asked, sounding offended.
Daveed caught your gaze again, pushing a strand of your hair behind your ear. “Y/N, I’ve had like the biggest fuckin’ crush on you since Ari introduced us.”
“Wait, really?”
“Mhm,” he hummed. “I’m actually really surprised you didn’t notice.”
“Why didn’t you tell me about your crush earlier, Diggs?” You voiced, giving him a pointed look.
He gave you a shy smile when he moved off of you to sit beside you, still facing you. “Same reason as you.”
“You know what? I’m not even mad about not knowing sooner.” You said. “I’m glad we found out like this.”
“You’re just happy I gave you a lap dance with my amazing skills.” He teased with a laugh of his own.
You laughed again, and pushed at his chest so he could lay on his back and let you crawl on top of him to straddle his waist. “Not gonna lie, I didn’t think you had it in you, Diggs.”
His jaw dropped completely as he looked up at you. “But you said that I could do a lap dance when even I said I couldn’t!”
“That’s true, but to be fair, I never said you couldn’t do a lap dance. I just didn’t think you’d do as well as you did.”
Your response brought yet another smile to his face as you leaned closer to him. “I’mma take that as a compliment.” He said softly.
At this point, the song Daveed had chosen had ended a while ago and the lap dance was long over.
“Good.” You responded before you kissed him again.
This one was different from the first. It started off soft, but quickly turned passionate and heated. As your mouths moved against each other, Daveed’s hands moved from your hips up to the hem of your shirt, his fingertips grazing your bare sides, leaving goosebumps in their wake. The only word you could use to describe this feeling was just complete bliss.
When you reached down to Daveed’s belt buckle, he shivered, causing you to smile against his lips.
Then he pulled away, panting. “Y/N…” he breathed. “Are you sure about this? You don’t have to— fuck.” He cursed as you pulled back completely to unbuckle his pants. “I don’t wanna push y—”
“Daveed,” You said, before pausing quickly to put a hand on his scruff, tenderly moving your thumb to caress his cheek. “I’m absolutely sure about this. Now please, shut the hell up so I can blow you.”
You smirked when you saw his eyes widen and when you crawled off of him to go in between his legs, you heard a quiet, “Okay.”
Wasting no more time, you removed his jeans and boxers to free his erection. You could see Daveed’s chest begin to rise and fall quicker when you took his length into your hand and pressed a kiss to the tip of it.
“Oh, shiiit.” He drawled softly when your mouth wrapped around him, slowly sucking your way down as far as you could. As you began to bob your head up and down, Daveed’s breathing increased with each suck and occasional flick of your tongue.
Now, he was fully panting. He lifted his head up to look down at you, causing him to groan. After a minute or two, he brought a hand down to move some strands of hair out of your face.
“Fuck, Y/N,” he babbled, “I...I shouldn’t...oh God, I shouldn’t be this fucking close.”
You slowly pulled off of him and he brought you back up to kiss him again.
“You,” Daveed breathed against your lips, “are way too fucking good at that.”
You grinned.
“And,” he continued, “this clothing situation is a bit unbalanced, don’t you think?”
His thumbs grazed the waistband of your sweatpants. When you nodded, you pulled them down along with your underwear. You moved off of him to take them off completely and remove your shirt and bra, leaving you just as bare as he was.
You climbed back on top of him, straddling his washboard abs, when he ushered you to move up. You obeyed, moving forward an inch or two, but Daveed shook his head and grabbed your thighs, moving you himself.
“Daveed, what are you doing?”
“Returning the favor.” He said simply, bringing you over to his face.
“Oh,” you breathed when you felt his tongue lightly touch your clit.
The man’s mouth worked miracles from between your thighs. Daveed kept you still above his skilled tongue, occasionally giving your ass a squeeze.
“D-Daveed,” you gasped, your mouth forming a perfect ‘O’ as his tongue lightly circled your clit before he brought fully into his mouth to suck gently.
This was the best head you’d gotten...well ever, actually. He wanted you to feel the best you’d ever felt and he definitely achieved that.
Before you knew it, you were reaching your high, climaxing as you shouted Daveed’s name, not caring how loud it echoed throughout your apartment. When you crawled back down Daveed’s body, the two of you shared a sloppy kiss as you both breathed heavily.
Although you just came, you weren’t completely satisfied. You still wanted him... needed to feel him inside you.
You moved to position yourself above his cock, but he made you pause before you could do so.
“Y/N, stop,” Daveed panted. “Condom.”
“Don’t need it.” You replied quickly. “I’m on the pill.”
“Oh, fuck yes.” He replied, releasing you so you could resume what you were about to do.
You breathed out a laugh before you slowly sank down onto his length, making both you and him release a groan.
“You are so fucking gorgeous,” he gasped. “You don’t know how long I’ve waited for this.”
Your fingers ghosted along his stubble-ridden jaw. “I think I have an idea.”
When you adjusted to his size, you began to bounce and he helped you, meeting each of your thrusts as he guided your hips onto him.
Your lips met Daveed’s yet again and you captured every moan that fell from his mouth, he did the same for you. As your pace quickened, so did each grunt, pant, and moan. You felt your pussy begin to clench again like it had when you came before.
“I’m gonna come,” Daveed said quickly against your mouth.
“Fuck.” You groaned. “Me too, D.”
“Come for me, sweetheart.” He breathed, bringing a hand up from your hip to cup your cheek. “You can do it.”
And you did.
Your walls clenched around him and you gasped, letting your orgasm wash over you in waves. Daveed came shortly after you, and continued to thrust, riding the both of you through your highs.
As you came down and pulled yourself off him, you collapsed, exhausted, halfway leaning on him and halfway laying on your couch. You moved a hand up to rest on his chest again, closing your eyes in bliss as you relaxed against him.
After a minute or two of silence, Daveed broke it.
“Wait, so...does this mean we’re friends again?”
You looked up at him with a raised eyebrow. He was still on that? Wow, what a dork. “After this? Everything that just happened?” You asked bewildered. “God, I hope not.”
“Fine,” he said letting his signature bright smile show up on his face, still breathing heavily. “More than friends?”
Your heart fluttered in your chest and you grinned widely back at him. You leaned up to softly kiss his jaw before you gave him your answer.
“Way more than just friends, D.”

Fearless (S.H.)
Pairing: Steve Harrington x reader
Summary: Steve tries to make your ruined prom night a little bit better. Based on Fearless by Taylor Swift
Word Count: 2,1k
Warnings: None
A/n: this was previously posted on my old blog @/kissingsucks. I deleted that blog a while ago but I want to repost some of my old work from there. It’s been slightly edited because it kind sucked lmao
Tumblr media
You honestly didn’t know why you thought this night would go well. You’d spent hours getting ready; perfectly curling your hair, painstakingly applying makeup, and slipping into your beautiful deep red dress. You and Robin had sat giggling in your room and listening to music, preparing for the night ahead: prom. You hadn’t wanted to go, but Robin insisted. Neither of you had gone to many dances throughout high school and she decided that the two of you needed the ‘experience’. So you begrudgingly agreed and bought a pretty dress from Macy’s at the mall the next town over. After getting ready the two of you sat on your porch, waiting for your ride. Eventually, Steve pulled up in his car and stuck his head out the window.
“Wow, you two clean up nice!” He yelled. You and Robin laughed before hopping in. You called shotgun and Robin climbs into the back, mumbling under her breath. Steve turned up the radio before speeding off towards the school.
•••
Steve pulls up in front of Hawkins High and turns to you and Robin.
“Ok both of you,” he says in a mock authoritative tone. You see Robin roll her eyes and a smile creeps across your face.
“No drinking, no drugs, and you must keep a three-inch distance between you and your dance partners,” he says, listing each rule off on his fingers.
“Ok dad,” Robin replies sarcastically. You chuckle before jumping out of the car.
“We’ll be fine Steve,” you assure him. He sighs before reminding you that he’ll pick you and Robin up at eleven. The two of you wave and he drives off.
“I wish we could’ve convinced him to come,” you say to Robin as the two of you make your way to the front door. Robin shrugs before replying, “he graduated last year he’s probably too embarrassed to show up here”. You nod, knowing that it’s probably the truth. But deep down you wished he would decide to come along. When Robin had suggested attending prom, you had imagined the three of you dancing in the middle of the dance floor. Steve in a gorgeous, well-fitting suit. It was a silly fantasy. A result of an even sillier crush on Steve Harrington. It had developed over the summer. You had worked at Scoops Ahoy along with him and Robin, and there was just something about watching him flirt with girls in the stupid sailor costume that made you blush. You thought you did a pretty good job at hiding it but you were convinced Robin knew. Though Steve still seemed oblivious, and for that you were glad. You didn’t want to destroy your friendship. You and Robin push open the doors to the gym and step inside. The dance was themed “city lights” and the gym was adorned with metallic streamers and colorful lights. You smiled widely, and step in, high hopes for the night ahead.
•••
But here you are, an hour later, sitting alone on the bleachers. Prom had been fun for about fifteen minutes. You and Robin danced to Duran Duran and you were practically squealing with happiness. Then you went to grab a cup of punch. The line was long, it took you nearly five minutes to grab cups for you and Robin. You turned around, only to see her huddled in a corner with none other than Tammy Thompson. She was smiling wide and the two were speaking in hushed whispers. You sighed, realizing you couldn’t interrupt her now. If you did you know she’d kill you later. So you trek up the bleachers and drink both cups of punch. And you sit. And sit. And sit. You were too scared to dance alone, and nobody seemed interested in asking you to dance. Robin and Tammy were still off in their own world and there was no hope of stealing Robin back anytime soon. So you found the closest chaperone and asked to use one of the office phones.
•••
The phone rang once before he picks up.
“Hello?”
“Steve it’s (Y/n),” you reply.
“Hey, is everything ok?” He questions.
“Um…” You’re unsure how to answer. “Can you just come pick me up?” you say. You hear shuffling on the other end of the line.
“Yeah give me a few minutes and I’ll be over to pick you guys up,” he replies.
“It’s just me,” you tell him. “Robin is staying.” The shuffling stops.
“Oh. Well, I’ll be there soon anyway,” he says before the line goes dead. You smile at the chaperone and head outside to wait
•••
A mere fifteen minutes later Steve’s car pulls up. It had begun to rain and your hair had lost the artificial curls you’d spent hours perfecting. You sit on a bench out front, your hands crossed against your chest. As soon as you see him you jump up and practically run to the car. As soon as you got in Steve gives you a questioning look.
“Jeez y/n what happened to you.”
“Nothing Steve, it just got boring,” you reply in a huff. Steve furrows his eyebrows.
“Where’s Robin?” he questions.
“She’s talking to Tammy,” you reply and Steve nods, understanding dawning on him.
“No one else to talk to?” he questions. You shake your head.
“I only danced for like ten minutes it was so stupid,” you reply, letting your annoyance show in your tone. You heard Steve chuckle beside you. You steal a quick glance at him. He’s staring down at the steering wheel in front of him, hair in his eyes. Under the soft glow of the singular street light of the parking lot, he looks almost angelic.
“Well that’s not a real prom experience,” he says turning towards you. You shrug before averting your eyes, hoping he didn’t catch you staring. You sit in comfortable silence for a moment, and you wonder when Steve is going to put the car in drive. But instead, he suddenly turns up the random Janet Jackson song playing on the radio and throws open his door. He steps out into the rain, practically soaking his t-shirt immediately, and runs around to your side of the car. He opens your door and extends his hand to you.
“What are you doing Steve,” you question. He smiles widely before grabbing your hand and pulling you outside.
“I’m giving you the full prom experience,” he answers mischievously. You stand in front of him, feeling the cold rain run down your shoulders. Steve begins dancing badly, wildly jumping around and swinging his arms.
“Steve!” you yell, scanning the parking lot to make sure no one can see you.
“Come on Y/n! Have some fun!” he yells back at you. You hug your arms close to your chest. Not quite sure what to do. Steve runs over and grabs your hands, forcing you to jump along to the music with him. You giggle which causes Steve’s smile to widen. Eventually, the two of you are drenched, laughing wildly, and clumsily dancing with each other. The pavement seems to glow under the streetlight and the thunder rolling in the background makes the moment feel magical. You stop for a moment to catch your breath and you grasp Steve’s hands. He holds them to his chest. Staring at you, smiling and breathing heavy. His hair is wet and matted against his forehead, his cheeks are a deep rosy red, most likely from the cold, and he has never looked so beautiful. Suddenly the radio crackles, a commercial break interrupting the music. And the moment is broken. Steve drops your hands and straightens quickly. You blink, the magic you felt only moments earlier dissipating.
“I should uh, get you home,” Steve says, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. You nod, and head for the car. Your soaked dress squishes as you lower yourself into your seat and you make a face. You hear Steve chuckle slightly beside you.
He puts the car in drive and heads off towards your house.
He drives along the road, the radio quietly playing, filling the silent air. You look at him, trying not to be too obvious. He runs his hands through his wet hair and you feel a pull in your gut; yearning. You had been kidding yourself. It wasn’t simply a silly little crush. It was a butterflies explode in your chest kind of crush. A sweaty palms and averting eyes kind of crush. A type of crush that is always in your mind, occupying your dreams and thoughts. The kind of crush that never gives you a moment to breathe. The kind of crush you’d dance in a storm with, ruining your best dress, just for the chance to be close to them. And as you’re lost in your thoughts, Steve looks over to you in the passenger's seat and gives you a small smile. You’re frozen, unable to look away from his deep brown eyes. And for a moment he looks like he wants to say something but then the light turns green and he turns back to the road. You look away, your cheeks burning, and stare at your hands.
A few minutes later, Steve pulls into your driveway.
“Well here we are,” Steve says, staring up at your house. You turn slightly towards him.
“Thanks for the ride. Sorry I made you leave early to get me,” you say quietly.
“Hey don’t worry about it. I’ll always be around to give you a ride if you need it,” he says, turning towards you. You glance at the clock on his dashboard and curse under your breath. Steve furrows his brows and glances at the clock himself. It is ten forty-five.
“I should go inside, you probably have to pick up Robin now,” you mumble, fumbling with the door handle.
“Here I’ll walk you up,” Steve says, unbuckling his seat belt.
The two of you walk up the walkway towards your front door. The silence that hangs between you is awkward, something that has never happened with you and Steve before. You arrive at your door and you dig in your small clutch for your keys. You find them and put your key in the lock before turning to Steve.
“Thanks for picking me up early,” you say to him. He shrugs, his hands in his pockets.
“Yeah no problem,” he says, kicking a rock off your porch. You start to turn towards the door but stop yourself.
“And thanks for the mini dance party back at school. You stopped my night from totally sucking,” you say with a slight laugh. Steve smiles slightly, looking at the ground.
“Yeah of course, glad I could help,” he replies. You smile, waiting to see if he’ll say more but he doesn’t. For a fleeting moment, you feel brave and you lean over and give Steve a quick peck on the cheek. He jumps back, eyebrows furrowed.
“(Y/n) I…” He looks at you, confusion clearly written on his face. You cringe before turning to escape into your house. You wonder how you could’ve been so stupid, thinking he might’ve felt the same way. But before you can step into your house a hand grabs your arm and pulls you back. You turn and lock eyes with Steve. His eyes are soft but determined and his face is tense. Before you have a moment to think his lips crash into yours. For a moment the kiss is awkward, teeth knocking into each other. But then the two of you find a rhythm and it’s flawless. You pull away, gasping for air. Steve smiles down at you, his eyes blown, a soft smile gracing his face. For a moment the two of you stare at each other, the air practically buzzing. Steve leans down and kisses your forehead before pulling away.
“Well I guess I better go pick up Robin,” he says, chuckling.
“Yeah she‘ll kill you if you're late,” you say breathlessly. Steve squeezes your hand before turning and heading back to his car. You stand at your door and watch him climb into his seat. Before he drives away he sticks his head out the window.
“I forgot to tell you earlier, but you look beautiful!” he yells to you. You giggle, feeling like a schoolgirl with her first crush before thanking him. He pulls out of your driveway and drives off. You finally open up your front door and collapse against the door frame. And you sit and wonder why you thought this night was going to go horribly. Because it turned out to be the best night of your life.

Tumblr media
You managed to keep yourself busy for much of the remainder of the day. You could have any food delivered to your quarters, but today you ate at the furthest dining hall possible, trying to kill time. But it would seem that the more you tried to occupy yourself, the more you found yourself coming up blank. In fact, you couldn’t seem to remember a single hobby of yours, instead your mind forced you to relive the events of your morning again and again.
You refused to acknowledge any form of remorse for your actions, but you couldn’t help it when the anxious knot that had grown in your stomach seemed to tighten further and further with each passing hour. It was only after you had given up your game of playing busy that you were forced to face your waterloo.
You were sitting on one of the sleek lounge chairs, facing the glass wall that stood between you and the endless mass of glittering stars and indefinite darkness, when the doors opened. You listened to heavy steps enter the quarters, and you closed your eyes for a moment, collecting yourself, bracing for whatever was next to come.
“Come along kitten, we have much to discuss.” He called for you, opting to forgo any pleasantries. You took a deep breath, before standing, following his voice to another room in your quarters. Technically, it was your bedroom, but the room was so large it served multiple purposes, to one side sat a bed, two bedside tables, a door leading to the refresher, and another door to a large closet, on the other side of the room was a few sleek shelves and an excessively large desk a few feet from the wall, and between the two sides, a large expanse of empty floor.
“Bring me your collar.” he said, already holding something in his massive fist you couldn’t quite see.
You nodded, remembering to add a “yes sir” after he cleared his throat, going to collect the black piece from it’s home in your bedside table. You brought it back to him, setting it down in his waiting hand, before dropping your hands awkwardly to your side, unsure what he wanted you to do with them. He noticed this, but offered you no guidance, grabbing your chin and thrusting it upwards so he could fasten your collar around your neck. He was sorely tempted to pull it too tight, to make you gasp and turn your face a pretty shade of pink, but you would need your breath for what was to come.
Once the collar was secured he began undressing you swiftly and quietly, face void of emotion. If he was aroused by seeing you nude, he didn’t show it.
He then circled around you, stalking his prey, stopping behind you he moved to blindfold you, robbing you of your sight and encouraging you to tune into your other senses. Once it was on tightly you heard him take a few steps back from you. You stood there a few moments before you heard him speak.
“Kneel.” The addition of the blindfold made the simple task more complicated, as your sense of balance was altered. You did your best not to tip over as you fell to your knees quickly, you knew he was expecting blind obedience, and if you failed to comply immediately he would roughly push you to the ground himself.
“I must confess pet, I was under the false impression that we were making progress in your training.” He mused circling to your front again. “But your infraction today has made it apparent I have been entirely too forgiving with you. That will have to change.” He paused and could him shuffling next to you and then you felt his hot breath fanning against your ear. “You look so pretty and vulnerable like this baby.”
“Thank you sir.” you purred, grateful for the compliment.
“It’s too bad I have to punish you for being such an insufferable brat.” he sneered, grabbing your ear tightly, and standing. You winced in pain and followed him up as quickly as possible trying to ease the pressure, but he didn’t let up. He walked to the other side of the room with you staggering blindly just behind him. Using only the grip on your ear, he practically flung you forward so you fell against his desk bent over. Your hands coming to catch yourself a bit too late.
He pulled your arms back meeting them just over the swell of your ass and you felt the unmistakable sensation of standard first order cuffs locking around your wrists. You nearly rolled your eyes, wondering what he had in store for you that he felt the need to restrain you. You were left to wait for a while before you felt contact again. His hand reached your ass grabbing one cheek and crudely pushing it to the side, and then you felt his now slick finger prodding against your back door. You squeaked and tried to move forward but there was nowhere to go.
Self defence wasn’t the only training Kylo was guiding you through. He was obsessed with the idea of claiming you- all of you. And that included every hole. The past few weeks he had begun working you towards taking him up your ass, and while you found the idea of it totally arousing, the painstaking slow path towards it was a pain in the ass, literally. You hated the way it felt so cold going in, the stretch was painful, and at the end of it all it felt like there was no real relief as a plug would usually sit ideally in you, taking up space but not providing you the stimulation you craved.
Tonight Kylo had decided to use this distaste for anal training against you. You groaned at the feeling as his finger pressed firmly inside your unwilling hole, sliding right in, two knuckles deep working into you.
“I’ve got a new plug for you tonight little one,” he informed you, pressing his finger all the way in so it sat deep inside you.
“Is- is it bigger?” You asked nervously, trying your luck as you weren’t sure if you were even allowed to talk right now.
“Indeed kitten,” he answered, it seems your question was allowed for now. He continued pushing in a second finger. “I’ve skipped a few sizes, this one’s bigger than you’ve ever taken. And it’s going all the way up your ass.” you shivered at the thought.
He didn’t prepare you much more before you felt his fingers withdrawal and the tip of a cold steel plug pressing against you. You couldn’t help the grunt of discomfort that fell from your lips as you instinctively clenched tightly, denying him access.
“Don’t fight me.” he commanded calmly, pressing harder against you. You squeezed your eyes tightly under the blindfold, your entire face scrunching with discomfort.
“Don’t want it.” you complained. Suddenly the pressure stopped momentarily.
“Fine,” he relented, tone still eerily calm. “Then you can help me put it in. Hold yourself open.” Your eyes flew open.
“I-I can’t.” You tried, holding your cuffed wrists up slightly as an excuse.
“I won’t repeat myself kitten,” he warned. Not wanting to provoke him further, you elected to oblige. With a pink face and shame filling your guts, you pushed your hands back, grabbing your own ass you pulled yourself open, fully presenting your little hole to him. The position was entirely humiliating, but that was what he was going for.
“The little slut can listen,” he mused, once again lining the steel invader with your entrance. When he pressed again you were unable to resist the way you had earlier, and much to your disappointment you felt yourself beginning to stretch painfully in an attempt to accommodate the foreign object. You could already tell this one was a good deal wider and longer than any of the preceding plugs, and you felt all too sorry for yourself as you thought about how your only option was to lie there and take it.
“You are going to learn that I have final say of anything and everything that happens to this little hole, and every other inch of your body.” he lectured, pushing deeper and deeper. “This body belongs to me, you are mine, and whatever happens to you is entirely up to me. I will see to it that you learn to listen to me better than you listen to your own body. I know what is best for my pet, and you will listen to me.”
You let out a small whine as the widest part slipped inside of you, but otherwise the plug was fully seated without much further protest from you. Finding yourself too overcome with shame to fight your situation anymore. Once it was all the way, he took a moment to admire the shiny and excessive jewel at the end of the plug before batting your hands away. You worked to even your breathing as he stepped away from you, you could hear his footsteps echo as he walked across the room.
“Open” he came around to your front, placing something hard and wooden, a cane, between your teeth, you bite down, realising he wanted you to hold the implement. “We are going to try something new today, it is intended to be a punishment, although I suspect being the little whore that you are you will find some way to enjoy it. This is practice for you. It will be quite intense but you will not move an inch because I told you not to. Since it’s so hard for you to  follow instructions, you’re going to hold this in your mouth the whole time. If you so much as step a toe out of line, I will cane you until I draw blood, understood?”
You nodded quickly in response to his threat, knowing full well he was not bluffing.
“Good” he muttered, patting your face and moving behind you again. He allowed you to wait in wonder as he worked behind you. Anticipation swirled in your belly as you wondered what new trick he had in store to make you squirm.
Suddenly your curiosity was answered as you felt something scalding hot drip onto the top left of your exposed back. You gasped, but fought against your instincts, remaining entirely still. The burn was intense but short lived, You felt white hot pain for the briefest moment, before the substance cooled and hardened against your skin. You quickly realised he was dripping hot wax along your back.
“How does that feel?” he asked curiously, running a line down a portion of your spine, moving lower down your back towards a region he knew would be even more sensitive.
“Hurts.” you slobbered slightly against the cane holding your mouth slightly agape, fighting your body’s instinct to wiggle away from the sensation. You yelped aloud as you feel a small puddle of wax pool in one of the dimples of your back. Oh how you wanted to arch your back in response. You found that when the wax made contact with the lower portion of your back the sting only halfway subsided when it hardened, a soreness remaining.
Kylo felt himself hardening at the sight of you. You were purring out pathetic little whines every time he splattered more red wax against your poor flesh. You looked stunning like this, clearly so desperate to move but forcing yourself to be still, to be good for him. Ever the sadist, he continued his work until your skin was practically covered, and your little whines had begun to shift into little moans. Though he wouldn’t admit it aloud, he was rather proud of your resilience, and decided to reward you by trailing his hand down to your dripping, neglected center.
“Just as I expected. Soaked.” he hummed, spreading your labia to expose your clit and opening to the cool air. “It would seem the little painslut enjoyed herself,” he ran his finger just along your opening, but didn’t give you the pleasure of entering you. “I supposed we better take care of this greedy little cunt.” he withdrew his prodding fingers, moving his hands to your wrist. He released you from the cuffs only to grasp your wrists in one of his big hands. With his other hand he grabbed the top of your right arm tightly, pulled you up so your entire naked backside was flush against his clothed front.
Once you were standing he kept his grip on your wrists but let go of your arm to reach around and pull the cane from your mouth. It was more than a little wet from where you had been holding it in your mouth and you wished your hands were free so you could wipe the drool that had run down your chin.
“I suppose this will be saved for another time.” He muses, tossing the cane to the side. His next move was to release you from the blindfold, granting you sight again. Your eyes immediately squinted and blinked, trying to adjust to the harsh fluorescents of the room again. He kissed down your neck sloppily, overwhelmed with arousal at how well you had taken the experiment. You basked in the shift of attention for a while before he pulled away from you abruptly. You whined at the loss of contact but he shushed you, pulling away entirely letting your hands go.
“Go wait on the bed for me.” He commanded, softly. You nodded moving to the bed still stark naked to wait for him while he undressed. Your attention was once again drawn to the large plug invading your back entrance, as it shifted inside you with every step you took. You wondered to yourself if he would notice if you reached back and pulled the kriffing thing out. But you decided against it as you crawled onto the bed. Of course he would notice.
He hadn’t told you how he wanted you to wait for him, so you opted to lie on your back, propped up on your elbows, watching as he finished undressing himself and moved over to you. He crawled onto the bed, hovering over you, pressing his mouth against you and you kissed back eagerly, opening wide enough that he could poke his hot wet tongue around, exploring your mouth. His hand slid down, grasping your breast and tweaking one of your nipples between his fingers, making you groan into his mouth.
You bucked your hips up into him as he twisted and pulled. “Patience,” he warned against your mouth, moving his hand to give your other nipple the same treatment. You whined, and continued bucking yourself upward against his hardened cock, trying to provoke him to hurry up and fuck you already. Suddenly he ripped away from your mouth, grasping your throat roughly and shoving your head back against the pillows.
“You don’t cum until I tell you. Is that clear?” he snarled, pressing just firmly enough to restrict the blood flow to your head.
“Yes s-supreme leader.” you gasp, knowing the effect his title on your lips had on him.
“Good girl,” he seemed pleased, releasing your neck, moving his hand down between your legs. His fingers grazed past your entrance, but kept moving further down to where the little plug sat, nestled in your back hole. He twisted and tugged at it, to which you responded with more wiggling and groans. “How’s the new toy treating my little toy?” he pulled it out so that the widest part of the plug was stretching you open again and you squeaked.
“F-full sir, really full.” you tried to respond.
“You better get used to it.” he slammed in all the way back in suddenly, making you jump. “When I shove my cock in there soon, you’re going to feel much more full.”
“Please,” you begged, his words making your pussy clench on nothing and your asshole tighten around the plug.
“Please what?” he hummed, watching you practically writhe on the bed.
“Please fuck me.” You sounded so desperate.
“Fuck you?” he asked in a mocking tone, teasing your clit, his touch was feather light but in your state it was enough to make you jerk your hips.
“Yes, yes please.”
“Have you learned anything today, kitten?” His tone is condescending.
“Yes yes! And I’m so sorry I’ll be so good, please.” you word vomit, hoping you’ll say what he wants to hear.
“You’re sorry?” he taunts, lining himself up.
“Yes, yes I’m really sorry!” you plead, shrieking when he slams into you.
“Hmm, I better see if I can fuck any last bits of brat out of you, just to be sure.” He begins pounding into you harshly, finally giving you what you want to feel. The sensation of his cokc ramming in and out of you rapidly is only further amplified by the shiny object plugging up your back hole. You felt entirely stuffed, the feeling was overwhelming. “Look at you, I’m going to make such a mess of you kitten, aren’t I?”
“Y-yes supreme leader.” you moaned, every stroke reaching a new depth within.
“Who do you belong to?” He growled, sweat beading on his forehead as he pounded into you.
“Y-you sir.” You pant. He pulled back suddenly, grabbing both of your ankles, he pulled them up and pressed them back as far as you would stretch. You felt the ache grow in your muscles as he slammed into you from the new angle. “Fuck! Kylo I can feel you in my guts!”
“Shit kitten say my name again. Who fucks you so well?” He growled as trying to get his words out straight as you tightened against him.
“You do Kylo! Shit! Kylo!” you were practically howling, tears streaming down your cheeks as the pleasure overwhelmed you. “Kylo, k-kylo please, please can I cum?”
“Hold it.” he moved his hand down toying with your clit, making you scream.
“I-I can’t!”
“You can and you will, what did I just teach you?” He wrapped his free hand around your throat twisting it away from the pillows so he could glare into your glossy eyes and watch you cry.
“Stars! I’m t-trying sir please!” you cried, feeling the familiar knot in your tummy.
“You can do it kitty, make me proud, just a little longer.” He grunted, snapping his hips into you again and again. You cried harder but nodded, watching his concentration as he fucked you into the mattress. He’d make you wait longer, but he was nearing the edge himself.
“Kylo!” You cried, the sensation was building and you knew you couldn’t hold off much longer.
“Shit, come for me angel, be a good girl and cum on my cock. SHIT!” He yelled head twitching inside of you, unloading his seed deep inside of you.
“Kylo!” You cried the knot inside of you exploded and he released inside of you, squeezing again and again as he continued rocking into you. You sobbed loudly, totally blissed out, and entirely overwhelmed.
Finally, his hips slowed, he let out a grunt, not bothering to pull out of you yet, he collapsed onto you, his heavy weight pressing you into the mattress, comforting you. He buried his face in your neck, panting and you weakly reached your arms up to wrap around his neck, still sobbing into his shoulder as you came down from your high.
“I’m here angel, I’ve got you.” He pet your head as you cried his name. You could feel his heartbeat, steady across your chest as you came down. Soon your crying was reduced to slow ragged breaths, and you seemed to re-enter your body, all too aware of the wax still stuck to your back, your wrists aching from the cuffs, your pounding head, the foriegn presence in your ass, and the overall feeling of achiness and exhaustion.
Kylo and his impressive stamina recovered much quicker than you. He pulled his weight off of you, kissed your forehead, and scooped you up, ignoring your noises of protest, he moved and carried you to the refresher. He sat down with you in his lap on the edge of the tub, leaning to plug the tub and turn on the water.
“Did so well kitten, I’m so proud of you.” he muttered, tightening his hold on you, kissing your temple.
“M’sore.” you grumble softly.
“I know baby, here.” He stood and moved you to stand on your feet. You whined again when he let go of you and pressed you slightly to lean over the sink. “Shh, just taking this out.” He hushed you softly, reaching down to work the plug out of you as gently as possible. When more sad noises left your lips, he reached his free hand out for you to grasp. You took it quickly, squeezing a few of his thick fingers in your fist every time you felt a stretch. He let you without complaining, you weren’t really hurting him, especially compared to what he had put you through.
When he was finished he tugged you up into his chest again, and you nuzzled against him. You were still wobbly from being so fucked out, but his tall, sturdy frame took on most of your weight. He ran his hand up and down your back slowly, cooing more praises to you, about how proud he was, and how good you had been. The skin to skin between the two of you was all too comforting, and you felt your eyes drooping shut to the sound of his thumping chest and the sound of the bath still filling up.

Look After You
Summary: (Set in the beginning of Alexandria) After a supply run goes wrong, the reader is forced to face one of their greatest fears.
Request: “Hey! Glad you’re back and in the swing of things! Hope everything is well. How about number 15 from the recent drabbles list? Maybe the reader says it to Daryl after a close call where he put himself in danger to save/protect the reader? And maybe it can say “what the hell is wrong with you?” instead cause it sounds more angry or whatever. Idk I just think it would be something cool and I know you can do a great job bringing it to life. That is if no one has requested it yet. Thank you!!” @mikahowl
A/N: REPOST!!! I was a big ol’ dumb ass and accidentally deleted this story. Which means I also deleted all of your lovely comments. Ugh. I’m sad. :(
This oneshot is a bit lengthy, but I actually really love the way it turned out! There are some characters from Alexandria in this story that are actual characters in the show! Let’s see if you recognize any of them!
(Shoutout to @jodiereedus22 for her constant support and letting me run ideas by her! Check out her awesome work!)
Enjoy!

The people of Alexandria were oblivious — ignorant, even — to the reality that loomed just outside their towering walls.
But regardless, when your group had first arrived at the Safe-Zone, each of you had made a promise to try — to try and live the way they did, to try and live as normally as possible, as though the world wasn’t crumbling around you.
Everyone in your group was doing their part, offering what they could to earn their keep, designated a role in the community by the town leader, Deanna. In the beginning, you’d been assigned to assist on supply runs with an established group inside the walls, led by Deanna’s son, Aiden.
But after a run went horribly wrong, everything changed.
Your group was still recovering from the loss of one of your own — Noah. Glenn was taking it especially hard, having witnessed the boy’s gruesome death. But after hearing what had actually happened, your group knew things needed to change — things needed to change and quickly if any of you stood a chance of survival.
After Aiden’s death, the responsibility to lead supply runs fell on you — and training the residents on how to properly scavenge became priority number one.
“Okay, are there any other questions? Anything you didn’t catch or want to hear again?” you announced tentatively, eyeing the lineup in front of you. “Anything at all?”
A group of four stood before you, all residents from Alexandria, all looking increasingly nervous.
“We just want to be thorough,” Tara suddenly spoke from beside you, addressing the group, attempting to ease their worries. “Even the smallest mistake can get someone killed,” she finished, her voice breaking off at the end.
You reached out, giving her hand a soft squeeze — Noah’s death had been hard on all of you.
“Seems like a lot more people have died since your group came around, don’t it?” Barnes suddenly called out. He was one of the residents — late twenties with tousled brown hair and a distrusting look in his eyes.
“Barnes —” another Alexandrian named Annie chastised from beside him. She was one of the more skilled when it came to supply runs, having been part of the initial scavenging group before your people joined Alexandria. She was in her early twenties, brunette with a slight frame but tough as hell.
“It’s okay, Annie,” you quickly interrupted, taking a step forward, locking eyes with Barnes. “What we’re trying to do here is prevent any more death — the only reason your people are still alive is because you’ve been lucky. Most haven’t.”
Tension hung between you before Barnes looked away, muttering something under his breath as he adjusted the rifle in his hands.
“We need to be in and out,” Tara finally continued, pushing past the uncomfortable atmosphere. “Big-box department stores like this don't tend to stay empty for long,” she explained, motioning towards the towering building beside you.
“And it’s pretty likely that most supplies have already been taken. So check in places you might not normally — underneath shelving units, behind registers, back of the house stocking areas,” you listed off the top of your head. “We grab what we can and get the hell out,” you finished with a nod. “Since the store is pretty huge, Tara will take three of you inside first to scope it out — take out any walkers, make sure there are no stragglers. The rest of us will stay outside to keep watch.”
“Well, w-what do we do if we find another survivor?” another one of the residents, Eddie, spoke — he was nineteen, maybe twenty years old, and scared shitless.
You sighed, sharing a look with Tara. “You just — just find one of us, okay? Make sure the person is unarmed, make sure they’re not a threat and —”
“A threat? You’ve gotta be joking,” Eddie protested, looking at the other residents for support. “Look, I shouldn’t be here — I-I just tend to the gardens. I don’t know how to ‘unarm’ someone. I can’t be here —”
“Eddie —”
“No — no, I can’t —”
“Hey man, you need to relax,” the fourth resident, Scott, intervened, placing his hand on the kid’s shoulder. He was in his forties and also experienced with the outside world — just like Annie. The two, along with another resident named Heath, would go on week-long supply runs for the community. He was a beast of a man — tall, broad, and built like a damn wall.
But Eddie quickly shook him off. “I just want to go home. Please, I-I just want to go home. I —”
“The hell’s goin’ on over here?”
The sudden gruff voice was like music to your ears, a wave of relief washing over you as the archer appeared from around the far side of the building, his eyes immediately finding yours. He marched forward, wordlessly eyeing the Alexandrian’s as he passed before halting beside you and Tara, looking at you expectantly.
You sighed, shifting your weight slightly. “We’re fine, we’re just — we’re just going over the plan one last time.”
Daryl regarded you carefully, not believing you entirely but also not pushing the topic further. “Perimeter’s clear,” he grunted, swinging his crossbow over his shoulder before turning to face the residents, scowl set firmly in place.
You took a breath. “Alright — Scott, Annie, Eddie — you’ll do the sweep with Tara,” you instructed, motioning the three forward. “And Barnes, since you’re used to guard duty back home and you’ve got the rifle, you’ll be with us,” you finished jerking a finger between you and Daryl.
“Awesome,” Barnes muttered under his breath, rolling his eyes as he walked away from the lineup and towards your group’s van, the one you’d parked by the building’s front doors.
You felt Daryl stiffen from beside you — apparently, you weren’t the only one who picked up on the attitude.
Scott and Annie shared a ready look, immediately making their way towards the building. Eddie, on the other hand, remained frozen in place, looking incredibly pale all of the sudden.
You sighed. “Eddie —”
But Tara quickly took a step forward, slinging her backpack over her shoulder before glancing at you. “I got it,” she reassured with a wink, moving towards the frightened boy without another word.
Eddie watched her approach, shaking his head slightly in defiance. “I’m sorry, guys, but I-I can’t —”
“Hey, easy,” Tara calmed, stopping in front of the boy. “Listen, kid, I know you’re freaking out. I don’t blame you. But you gotta get your shit together, okay?” she continued, reaching down to grab the empty bag at his feet, forcing it into his grasp. “You can do this — but you have to trust us. We’re in this together, alright?” she encouraged softly before holding her fist out in front of her.
Eddie eyed her nervously before his shoulders sagged, eventually giving in and connecting his fist to hers. He slung the bag over his shoulder, unsheathing his small hunting knife as he hurried to catch up to Scott and Annie.
Tara glanced back at you and Daryl. “Fist bumping — it always gets the job done,” she grinned, waggling her eyebrows as she jogged to meet up with the Alexandrian’s.
You snorted a laugh, shaking your head as you watched the group of four disappear through the front doors of the department store.
“Ya did good,” Daryl suddenly rumbled from beside you.
You sighed, turning to face the archer, giving him a skeptical look. “You think?” you asked softly, hoping you didn’t sound as self-conscious as you felt. “I don’t know — this is more of Glenn’s specialty. He’s better at this kind of thing — he’s also better with people, I might add,” you murmured.
Daryl’s eyes narrowed as he watched you, the intensity in his stare catching you off guard. “What’s wrong with ya?”
“What? Nothing,” you shot back defensively, wishing he’d stop looking at you as though he could see through you — past flesh and bone, into the parts of yourself you kept hidden in darkness, away from the world’s wandering eye.
“Bullshit,” he grumbled before you could spew any more lies. But when you opened your mouth to respond, another voice cut through the air.
“So, are we just supposed to stand out here with our dicks out or —” Barnes called snidely, leaning cooly against the van, rifle propped up against his shoulder.
You watched Daryl’s features darken, his head snapping in Barnes’s direction before he suddenly stormed forward. “Ya best watch that fuckin’ mouth a’ yours,” he growled, his threatening tone unwavering as the smirk etched on Barnes’s face dropped.
“Relax, man,” Barnes held his hands up, the sarcasm in his voice obsolete as he quickly straightened. “It was a joke, alright?” he huffed, eyes darting between you and the archer as he took a small step back. “Damn,” he scoffed, almost in disbelief.
But his words only riled Daryl further. You watched his head cock to the side as he jabbed a finger towards Barnes. “Ya —”
Before the archer could take another step, before he could hurl another definitive threat, you grabbed onto his arm. Daryl glanced down at you, the look in his eyes practically lethal, only fading once you shook your head. “Not worth it,” you murmured, just soft enough for him to hear.
Daryl held your gaze a moment longer before he pulled out of your grip. “Asshole,” he spat, his eyes like daggers as he shot Barnes one last hostile look before sliding his crossbow off his shoulder. He muttered another curse under his breath as he moved away, beginning to pace back and forth like a caged animal.
You exhaled heavily, letting him simmer down — you knew Daryl well enough to know when he needed space.
Barnes watched the interaction curiously and you found yourself fighting back the urge to smack the defiant, and slightly cocky, expression from his face.
Tara suddenly appeared at the front doors, stopping you from doing something you’d regret. She motioned Daryl over from where he’d stormed off to. “We’re all clear,” she announced, slightly breathless before she disappeared back inside the store.
You unsheathed the hunting knife strapped around your thigh as Daryl wordlessly stormed past you. Barnes moved forward after him, only stopping when you held out your arm. “What?” he questioned, a confused look flitting across his features.
“Not you,” you shook your head resolutely.
Barnes scoffed. “Are you kidding —”
“It’s not a punishment,” you interrupted, holding your hand out, giving him a pointed look. “I need you out here to keep watch.”
“Why me?” he demanded, clearly offended.
You felt your last bit of patience dissipate. “You know what,” you hissed through clenched teeth. “If you think you’re better suited to lead this run, then by all means —” you took a step back, extending your arm, urging him forward. But when Barnes didn’t move, you dropped your arm. “That’s what I thought,” you muttered, taking a step before pausing, eyeing the rifle in his hand. “And hold your fire — it’s for emergency only, okay? Emergency only. If that thing goes off, it’ll attract every walker within miles. Understood?”
Barnes looked as though he wanted to object, but after a moment, he merely huffed a breath and turned to face the parking lot.
You entered the store without another word.
The first thing you noticed was the smell — like spoiled meat and unwashed gym socks. You thought that after all this time you’d get used to the stench — but still, to this day, it had a funny way of taking you by surprise.
The store had already been ransacked — though you weren’t surprised. You hadn’t expected to find much — big-box department stores were the first to get looted when the world ended. You’d chosen this place as more of a trial run, to help the Alexandrian’s get a feel of how supply runs would work now that your group was in charge.
Your team worked quietly, efficiently, taking the building by storm.
It was easy.
Almost too easy.
You should’ve seen it coming.
Scott and Annie were making their way to the front of the store, empty bags now filled with supplies they’d found on a truck still attached to the loading dock. Tara and Eddie were sifting through an overturned clothing rack, shoveling clothes of all sizes into their backpacks.
And Daryl was standing on the opposite side of the store — looking at you.
You didn't understand why — why his expression twisted into one of panic, why your name fell from his lips in what seemed like slow motion, why the smell of rotting meat was getting stronger and stronger until —
It happened in the blink of an eye.
One moment, you were upright, watching Daryl in the distance as he took off into a dead sprint towards you. And the next, you were facedown on the floor, a heaviness pressing into your back, pushing the air from your lungs. A gnarled hand wound through your hair, the other grabbing onto your shoulder in a vice-like grip, yanking your head backward as a low growl sounded in your ear.
A cry fell from your lips as you twisted, stunned for just a moment before survival instincts kicked in. You braced one arm against the ground, pushing off and propelling yourself onto your side, knocking the walker off your back.
You didn’t waste another moment as you rolled away from the biter and jumped up, frantically searching for the knife you’d dropped, focusing only on the dead staggering to its feet. The walker lunged once more, but this time, you were able to brace your forearm against its chest, keeping its snapping jaws mere inches from your face.
You grunted under the pressure, feeling your arm start to give way, its teeth snapping closer and closer until —
You saw a glint of silver.
You felt cool metal press against the base of your throat.
You recognized the handle of your knife, the one you’d dropped moments ago, wrapped in another’s hand.
You heard the growling before you morph into something different, something hauntingly familiar.
“Mine.”
The low, hushed snarl stunned you into stillness, the sound shooting through you, feeling your blood run cold as you caught a glimpse of what exactly was in front of you.
Another survivor.
“Mine,” the man growled once more, pushing the tip of your knife deeper into your neck, your flesh splitting beneath the blade.
You grimaced, grabbing onto the stranger’s wrist to keep from screaming as your eyes frantically searched his.
He was covered in blood — some streaks fresher than others, spread across the naked parts of his face. His beard was tinged with grayness, curled and matted, hanging just above his chest. His teeth were bared like some sort of beast, crooked and yellow. But his eyes — his eyes you couldn’t seem to pull away from. They were wide and panicked — feral in the most animalistic way. They were distant, detached from any semblance of humanity as he neared closer.
You cringed away from the putrid smell he exuded, your dwindling strength no match for his barbarity.
“Get — out,” he growled between ragged breaths, his other hand tangling throughout your hair. “Mine — mine — home — get — out!“ he rasped, beginning to drag the knife’s edge across your throat.
But just as a cry reached your lips, suddenly, the man was gone.
You fell backward, colliding against the floor as chaos erupted around you.
That’s when you noticed Daryl.
He had the stranger pinned up against the wall, landing blow after blow, his movements fierce, precise, unrelenting. But then you saw something the archer didn’t — the man’s arm, raised high above his head, your knife in his grasp.
“No!” you screamed out, stumbling to your feet as the stranger plunged the knife down.
Except Daryl was quicker. He pushed away from the man at the very last second, just narrowly missing the knife’s blade — but the dodge threw him off balance, allowing the stranger a chance to land a solid left punch right against the archer’s temple, catching him off guard and sending him staggering away.
“Hey!” Tara suddenly appeared, distracting the crazed man, the rest of your group showing up right behind her.
The stranger let out a sort of animalistic shriek as he raised your knife, charging towards them without a second thought.
But before he could get close enough to attack, you heard gunshots.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
The stranger froze, stunned mid-strike, his body swaying slightly before his legs gave out, folding beneath him. The sudden silence was so deafening, you were sure the sound of your heart pounding was heard by those around you. No one spoke — all eyes trained on the kneeling man, blood beginning to drip from the corners of his mouth.
“Mine,” the stranger gargled between hitched breaths. “Mine — my — home,” he sputtered through the redness, his lips curling into a deranged grin as the light faded from his eyes. His body slumped forward, motionless, three bullet holes now torn through his torso.
As if on cue, everyone turned to look toward where the gunshots came from.
And there stood Barnes, rifle clenched in trembling hands, breathing slightly labored. “I — uh,” he stuttered, breaking the quiet. “I-I figured this — this would be considered an ‘emergency’, right?” he jumbled, any previous trace of humor gone from his tone.
Before you had a chance to speak, you felt a familiar touch — calloused fingers grabbing your chin, turning your face forward.
Your eyes fell on Daryl, now standing before you, his expression furrowed, eyes troubled as he gently tilted your head back. You winced as the slash on your neck stretched, his features growing stormy.
“U-Uh, guys?” Eddie suddenly whispered from behind Tara, breaking the stillness, his features growing increasingly pale. “I’m —”
Whatever he was about to say was cut off as the boy spun around and toppled forward, emptying the contents of his stomach.
You grimaced, squeezing your eyes shut — but then you felt Daryl’s grip move to either of your shoulders.
“Hey, ya alright?” he murmured, voice just soft enough for you to hear it.
Your eyes snapped open, but before you could respond, you noticed something that sent your heart plummeting.
A small gash just above Daryl’s right eyebrow.
It wasn’t a bad injury — not at all. You weren’t even sure if he knew he was bleeding. He’d sustained worse, you knew that. But the fact of the matter was that it could’ve been worse — it almost was worse. And that was because of you. Because he was trying to protect you.
And that was something you refused to be okay with.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” you suddenly snapped, unsure where the abrupt fury came from — you hadn’t meant for the words to come out so harsh, but you also couldn’t seem to stop them.
The archer’s hands immediately retracted from your shoulders as he straightened, a look of confusion flitting across his features. “What?” he demanded, clearly taken aback.
“W-What — I mean, why would you —” you fumbled for the right words, feeling the anger in your gut simmering. You knew your feelings were being misdirected — but you couldn’t find it in you to stop. “What the fuck, Daryl?”
Daryl’s expression hardened as he took a step back, his eyes narrowing. “Are ya seriously pissed a’ me right now?”
“I can take care of myself, okay? I don’t need you to protect me!” you fired back, hands clenched into fists at your sides.
“I jus’ saved your damn life, Y/N!”
“Yeah, and you nearly lost yours!”
Your words echoed throughout the store, the silence that followed incredibly vast as you stood toe to toe with the archer, your heaving breaths mirroring his.
It wasn’t until Tara spoke that you remembered you weren’t alone. “Uh, guys, we gotta — we gotta go,” she intervened, appearing between you. “That gunfire’s gonna draw walkers in from all around — we need to get these people home.”
Daryl held your gaze a moment longer before shaking his head, grumbling something you couldn't quite catch as he stormed off. He grabbed his crossbow off the floor, having lost it in the scuffle, before walking out of the store without another word.
“Y/N?” Tara murmured, reaching out to gently squeeze your arm.
“Yeah,” you breathed, exhaling heavily. “Yeah, I’m coming,” you murmured, forcing a small smile onto your face.
Tara nodded, handing you a worn bandana. You pressed the cloth against your bleeding neck, wincing at the contact as Tara turned to address the group. “We gotta move — let’s grab our stuff and get the hell out of here,” she called out, picking up her backpack and herding the Alexandrian’s out of the store.
A traumatized Eddie stumbled after Tara, sparing the unmoving stranger one last look. “This — this place was his home. H-He was just protecting his home,” he whispered sorrowfully before Scott placed a hand on his shoulder and helped guide him the rest of the way out, Annie close behind.
The store was eerily quiet — the only sound being your footsteps as you slowly approached the man. His eyes were open yet vacant, mouth unhinged in what appeared to be a silent scream. You reached down, pulling your knife from his limp grasp before gently pressing the blade into his skull.
You felt for the stranger — he’d simply been a man who lost his mind, desperate to protect what he felt was his. “I’m sorry,” you whispered, a heaviness settling over your chest as you pulled your knife from the back of his head.
You turned to leave, pausing when you noticed Barnes standing by the front door. He watched you approach, expression grim as his eyes bounced between you and the lifeless stranger.
“Hey,” you murmured, nudging him gently, waiting until he looked down at you. “It had to be done.”
Barnes audibly swallowed, nodding slowly as he glanced down at the rifle still shaking in his grasp. “I — I’ve never killed a person before,” he whispered gravely.
“I know,” you sighed, any feelings of frustration you felt about Barnes from earlier dissipating. “I’m sorry you had to be the one to do it.”
Barnes simply nodded once more before you motioned him toward the van, the rest of the group already inside.
Just as Tara predicted, you spotted clusters of walkers beginning to fill into the parking lot as you climbed into the back of the van after Barnes. But by the time the dead neared closer, your group was already peeling out of the parking lot, headed back to Alexandria.
The ride home was silent.
You tried to ignore the nagging in your chest every time you glanced at the back of Daryl’s head. Instead, you focused on the steady throbbing in your neck — that pain seemed to be easier to accept.
When you arrived back at Alexandria, Daryl hopped out of the van before it even fully parked, stalking off towards the house your group shared without another word.
“Want Denise to check that out?” Tara asked, motioning towards your wound, interrupting your inner turmoil.
“Oh, no,” you waved her off. “It’s okay — just a scratch,” you shrugged, walking side by side back to the house. But as you neared closer, the fear of confrontation stopped you short — you couldn’t be around the archer right now.
Tara’s momentum slowed as she glanced between you and the house before taking a step closer. “He’ll come around,” she suddenly murmured, her lips turning up into a soft smile.
You gnawed on your bottom lip for a moment. “I didn’t mean —”
“I know,” she cut you off, taking another small step towards you. “He knows. He just — he was just scared, that’s all.”
You scoffed lightly, rolling your eyes. “Daryl Dixon isn’t scared of anything,” you pointed out, only half joking.
But Tara’s expression didn’t waver, now looking more serious than ever. “He was today,” she remarked quietly before turning around and walking away.
You watched her leave, heading towards the house Daryl had entered moments before. Her words sat heavily on your chest, only furthering the existing guilt you felt. You couldn’t walk into that house — not yet, at least.
Night came quickly.
You’d volunteered yourself for guard duty, welcoming the isolation, desperately needing the distance. It was easy to pretend when you were away from it all — that the day hadn’t panned out as it had, that the world hadn’t completely gone to shit, that you hadn’t almost lost the last good thing in your life.
You welcomed the solace.
When the ladder leading up to the tower suddenly began to creak, you couldn’t help the burst of hope that shot through you. But it was Sasha who appeared, relieving you of your duty, and you immediately felt yourself deflate.
You walked back home with your head hung low. How could you have said those awful things to Daryl? What the hell was wrong with you? He’d saved your life and in return you — you’d hurt him. He didn’t have to say a damn word — you knew your words had stung. And now — now you had to make things right.
The house came into view, one or two lights inside still dimmed — but that wasn’t what caught your attention.
There, sitting on the front porch steps, was Daryl.
Even in the darkness, you noticed the way he stilled when you approached, a lit cigarette dangling between his lips. Your breath caught in your throat as you faltered mid-step, feeling incredibly exposed all of a sudden. “Hi,” you whispered, your voice slightly hoarse.
Daryl acknowledged you with a short nod before taking a long drag, fiddling with the cigarette between his fingertips.
You sighed, slowly making your way towards the porch stairs. “Can I sit?” you asked quietly.
Daryl grunted a response as he exhaled the smoke — you chose to interrupt that as a ‘yes’.
You sat down with a huff on the opposite side of the stairs, resting your back against the railing. The silence between you was overwhelming — and part of you wondered if the archer could hear your pulse racing from where he sat. “I’m sorry,” you murmured, the words tumbling out of you. “I’m — shit, I’m so sorry, Daryl. I didn’t —”
“Ya don’t have ta’ do this,” Daryl interrupted suddenly, inhaling another puff of smoke before flicking the cigarette away. “Ain’t mad at ya or anythin’.”
You pursed your lips, fidgeting with your hands in your lap. “Doesn’t matter — I’m still sorry,” you shrugged, sighing softly.
“I couldn’t do it,” Daryl spoke after a long moment of silence, glancing over at you before turning to stare ahead.
“Couldn’t do what?” you pressed gently, hanging onto every word he said.
Daryl grumbled something to himself, almost like he was second-guessing speaking in the first place. You merely sat, still and quiet, giving him time to sort himself out. “I heard what ya said back there — ya don’t need me —”
“Daryl —”
“I couldn’t do it, alright? I couldn’t jus’ stand there an’ let that asshole do what he was gonna do ta’ ya,” he pushed forward, his words fiercer than before as he faced you. “Now, I heard what ya said — ya don’t need me ta’ protect ya, I know that. But that don’t mean I ain’t gonna do it anyways.”
You couldn’t stop the swell of emotion that rose, forming a clump in the base of your throat. You lowered your eyes, the archer’s intense gaze too much for you at that moment. There were things you wanted to say, feelings you wanted to share, but they all seemed to tangle up inside you. “You could’ve died,” you whispered, those three little words all you could muster. You swallowed the lump in your throat. “God, if anything ever happened to you because of me —”
“Hey,” Daryl hushed you, leaning forward a fraction. “I’m alright.”
You shook your head slowly, giving him a serious look. “It doesn’t matter — you almost died back there for nothing, Daryl.”
The archer regarded you curiously then, an honest look of confusion crossing his features as he watched you. “Wasn’t for nothin’,” he rumbled simply.
You held his gaze a moment longer before slowly scooting forward, closing the short distance between you. Daryl stiffened instantly, practically turning to stone as you slowly reached forward, waiting until he relaxed a little before pushing back the hair from his face, revealing the small cut he’d received earlier.
You gently cupped the side of his face, your thumb grazing just above the wound as your eyes locked with his. “What am I gonna do with you, Daryl Dixon,” you sighed softly, feeling a weight lift off your chest.
Daryl didn’t respond — simply melting into your touch instead.
You lowered your hand, closing the last bit of space between you before resting your head against his shoulder.
After a moment of stillness, you felt the tension within him give way, his cheek finding its way nestled against your hair.
And so you sat, interwoven around one another, guarding the only thing left in a crumbling world that mattered as the cool, calm night lingered on.
A/N: Aww...what’d you guys think? Was the reader justified in her reaction? How did you like that sweet moment in the end?

Cheater Route: No (ending one)
Word Count: ~1.4k
Warnings: Mentions of cheating, mentions of making out, and mentions of cursing, angst
Authors Notes: (reposting since it’s not showing up in the tags) Before I start I just want to say thank you for showing this so much love!! 🥺🥺 I actually thought of this idea in the middle of AP Bio and wanted to write about it but didn’t know how it would turn out since this is my first time writing something like this. I actually ended up liking the format and might continue on with this type of writing in the future and I’m so excited for it!! Okay enough of my ranting lol onto the second ending...
You stared at him with a blank look as you scanned his face. His eyes and nose were red, and he seemed as if he had been crying nonstop. You scoffed and tried to close the door, not wanting to see him ever again. YangYang saw your arm moving towards the doorknob and quickly stuck his foot in the doorway, preventing the door from closing.
“Please. Just let me explain” he pleaded. You looked down at the ground, refusing to look him in the eye since you knew that it would result in you allowing YangYang to come inside.
“I’m sorry YangYang. What you did today made me lose my trust in you.  I don’t think I can ever allow you back into my life after what you did to me. I think it’s best if you just leave. I’ll give you your stuff back tomorrow.” you said before shutting the door. You heard YangYang sigh and mutter a curse under his breath before knocking again. You stood your ground and refused to open the door, instead opting to walk into the kitchen and place the pan back in the cabinet where you took it out of. You slowly walked back into your room and began taking out all of YangYang’s belongings, placing them into boxes so that you could give them back to him tomorrow. You felt your eyes slowly become misty as you remembered the times that you would sift through his closet, trying to find a hoodie to wear. Now, they were all just clothes in a box waiting to go to their owner. It took about two hours to devoid your room of anything remotely close to YangYang, and with each item removed, you felt a little piece of your heart crack and fall off.
You climbed into your bed and willed your brain to stop thinking and allow you to sleep, but all you could see was YangYang making out with someone other than you. You squeezed your eyes in a vain attempt to prevent any tears from leaking out, but all that effort went to waste as they still fell onto your pillow, staining your cheeks and causing your eyelids to feel heavier than the weight in your heart.
You woke up the next morning and looked at yourself in the mirror. The reflection that stared back at you was almost unrecognisable. The usually bubbly and happy person was now a puffy eyed, red nosed, and gloomy person, face void of any emotions. You sighed and splashed a bit of cold water on your face, hoping that the temperature change would cause you to look somewhat alive.
You packed up and loaded all the boxes into your car before leaving for university, making sure not to leave anything behind. As you pulled up to the familiar building, you saw YangYang’s car parked next to the place where you would normally park your car. You sighed and parked into your designated palace, making sure not to make eye contact with YangYang.
You got out of the car after grabbing your belongings and heard YangYang shuffling to exit his car so that he could have a chance to talk to you. You ignored his soft voice calling your name and pleading to just listen to him for once. You instead opted to take out the boxes from your car and place them in front of YangYang. His eyes were bloodshot and puffy with dark circles around them, and anyone looking at him would know that he didn’t sleep at all last night. The mere sight of him was enough to make you feel pity, but you chose to stand your ground and instead explain to him what the boxes were.
“Here. These are your stuff from the apartment. I made sure to pack everything so after this you have no need to visit me or come to the apartment again.” With that, you turned around and left YangYang standing in confusion. You heard him call your name and with each call, the temptation to turn around and run back to him grew stronger. But deep down inside, you knew that what you just did was the right decision and that you should not give YangYang another chance to mend his mistake.
After getting back home from university, you made sure to block and delete his phone number, as well as blocking and deleting any posts involving him on social media. Your friends called and texted you, wondering what happened in between you and YangYang. You instead opted to turn off your phone and wallow in your own sadness as you watched random movies playing on Netflix.
In the following days, you would see YangYang on the path to your classes, but every time you would come close to getting in contact with him, you would turn around and walk the other way, even if that meant that you would be late for your next class.
Over time, you would see YangYang less and less, until it got to the point where you would go without seeing YangYang for an entire day. You pretended to be fine with the absence in your life, trying to convince yourself that his disappearance was only for the better.
Your friends tried to set you up with other people as a means of getting over your ex, but each date that you went on left you more empty  as you would get reminded of the dates that YangYang would take you on.
One particular night however, you went to a fancy restaurant with one of your dates. He was a nice person, and you would be lying if you said that you weren’t catching feelings for him. As you walked into the restaurant, you walked over to your table and sat across your date, making small talk with him as you waited for your orders to arrive. You heard a “Oh my gosh yes!” from a customer in the restaurant. As you made eye contact with the owner of the sound, you couldn’t help but allow your eyes to water. It had been a little bit less that two years since you had last seen him, but nothing would ever prepare you to face YangYang once again after all these years. He looked the same as he did when you had broken up with him, but just as you saw the familiar gummy smile take over his face, you could help but draw your attention to the shimmering jewel  that currently rested in the small velvet box. You recognised the woman that he was currently proposing to as the person that he cheated on you with, and with that prompt, you couldn’t help but allow the tears to flow freely down your face as you hastily picked up your purse and ran out of the restaurant. You heard your date yell your name, but the only thing on your mind was getting away from YangYang as fast as you could.
As you exited the restaurant, the cold air pierced your skin as you ran to your car to escape the outside world. As you opened the car door, your sobs gradually increased to the point where you couldn’t even see past the tears formulating in your eyes.
After what seemed like hours, you slowly felt your heart rate decrease and felt the tears in your eyes clear up. You darkly chuckled and went over the scene that had taken place prior to your emotional breakdown. As thoughts of anger and betrayal clouded your mind, you heard a giggle come from the entrance of the restaurant. You panicked and attempted to start your car in an endeavor to leave without being noticed. Your efforts went in vain though as YangYang made eye contact with you as he passed in front of your car with his now fiancee. You saw his eyes grow wide as he recognised you, but instead of waving or noticing you, he turned around and proceeded to dote on his lover. The sight of that made your eyes water up once again and you pulled out of the parking lot, feeling more sad and empty than you had ever felt before. Maybe not everyone was meant to have a happy ending.

Rufus Shinra NSFW Alphabet - H to O
Tumblr media
I actually posted this a few weeks ago but tumblr screwed up and made it so no one could find it by searching the tags so I deleted the post. I meant to repost this as soon as I figured out the problem (turns out tumblr doesn’t let me add any links to posts anymore) but got distracted by the Gaara asks I’ve been receiving. Sorry Anon! =.=
Anyway, here’s a bit more on the NSFW Alphabet series for Rufus! Let me know what you guys think and if you have any requests. :)
PS: should answer another Gaara ask sometime today. ;)
NSFW under cut, minors begone!
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Super well-groomed. Rufus most likely has periodic laser hair removal sessions to make sure he’s always nice and smooth from his eyebrows down. There’s not a single strand of hair on his torso, and barely a bit of platinum-blonde fuzz on his balls. He keeps a neatly trimmed small patch of blonde hair (slightly darker than his actual hair) above his cock too, but only because when he shaved it all he felt too much like a teenager.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Depends. If he’s with someone solely for the physical relief of sex, he’s not intimate at all. He’ll fuck them nice and good, leave them satisfied, but there will be no kissing or playful teasing on his part. He’ll get in, get off, and get out.
Now, if he’s in a committed relationship Rufus might show a bit more softness. He’ll kiss them slowly as he gently undresses them. He’ll actually take time to appreciate and caress the expanse of skin he’s about to grope and manhandle, trailing soft lips down their neck, stomach and thighs before even thinking of thrusting his cock in them. There will be lots of intense eye-contact and he’ll be very vocal about everything he’ll do to them and how much they turn him on.
Just don’t expect too much cuddling afterwards. Like I stated in Aftercare (check my masterlist) he’s got too much work to do to spend hours in bed holding his SO after the deed is done.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Jacks off frequently, especially when he’s particularly stressed with work. When he’s single and feeling particularly pent up he might hire sex workers to take care of his problem for him. When he’s in a relationship he calls his SO to come to his office so he can rail them against his desk.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Rufus has been around when he was younger so he has a list of things he’s into: anal sex, lingerie and heels, clothed sex, sex toys…
He has a preference for being a dom in the bedroom so, while he’s up to lots of experimentation, he favours the following kinks: power-play, orgasm control and denial, and light bondage.
I don’t see him as violent though, physically or emotionally. He’ll tease and taunt his SO to his heart’s content, but he won’t degrade or actually hurt them in any way (some light spanking is okay, but more for the face-value of it; nothing that’s going to bruise or cause them pain).
See Dirty Secret for daddy kink.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
Inside the bedroom where he has all his toys, handcuffs and structures for anything he might want to do with his SO.
But he does like expensive hotel rooms and fucking in his office too.
And if the opportunity to desecrate his father’s office presents itself when he’s still VP you better believe me Rufus will grab it with both hands without the slightest hesitation.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Rufus has a naturally high libido so he doesn’t really need something to turn him on. He’s down to fuck any time of the day as long as it doesn’t get in the way of his work.
When he was a teenager his friends (did he have friends?) might or might not have worried about him being a sex-addict, but it got infinitely better after a couple of years, when his hormones weren’t raging inside his body. Now Rufus has a much better grasp of his sex drive, managing to focus his frustration on work more often than not.
When he really wants to blow off some steam and doesn’t have a SO to turn to he’ll more likely resort to sex workers instead of seducing high-class women, if only because it’s much easier to deal with a business transaction than possible emotional complications. But, once he does get a steady SO, he’ll expect sex every night and some office surprises during weekdays. Rufus is not good at cuddling and other forms of affection so not only it’s how he relieves stress, but it’s also the best way he can show he cares for his SO. At first glance he may appear to be a selfish lover, but once in a relationship he won’t be able to rest at night if he doesn’t make sure his SO is completely satisfied with him, inside and outside the bedroom.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Rufus does not share. Any threesome fantasies? You might as well kiss them goodbye. Doesn’t matter if it’s with another girl or guy, Rufus wants your undivided attention on him at all times, inside AND outside the bedroom.
So if anyone gets a bit too close or flirty with you (cough-Reno-cough) he will set Darkstar/Dark Nation on them.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
Rufus loves receiving oral. Likes to take his time too, allowing his SO to go down slowly on him at their pace for a long while before grabbing their hair and taking charge. He will fuck their throat any way he likes it, and while he can get a bit rough he won’t hold them down and choke them on his cock. Oh no, he’d much rather surprise them with his little surges and then stop, letting them catch their breath as they drool all over his cock and thighs, before starting all over again. He’ll rinse and repeat many times, and when he comes he expects his SO to open wide and stick their tongue out so he can paint the inside of their mouth white with his cum.
That’s not to say Rufus doesn’t like giving oral. Once in a relationship he’s actually a very giving lover and will do everything to please his SO. However, on the beginning of the relationship they might have to be a bit patient and teach him the best way to give oral to them because Rufus would not have much experience on it, if any. He’s Rufus fucking Shinra, he doesn’t go down on any one-night stand that comes his way.
In other words he’s not good at it on the beginning but he’s ready to learn for his SO.

When The (Pent)House Goes Up In Flames
This is a repost of a previously deleted fic. It’s also posted over on my AO3, just search up ‘everamazingfe’ or the title of this fic over there!
Gavin stays behind in the crew's penthouse to get some work done, but things very quickly go awry. Inspired by the song "Michael Myers Resplendent" by The Mountain Goats.
-------------------------------------
When the house goes in flames, no one emerges triumphantly from it. When the scum begins to circle the drain, everybody loves a winner.
The smoke was suffocating. The sound of the flames licking at the support beams around him was deafening. A stunt gone wrong, one that went too big too fast and led to a disaster. Gavin was stuck and alone, his two biggest fears being melded with his third. A fear of fire.
"Guys?" His voice was pitiful and weak, looking around frantically for an exit that wouldn't come. A window, twenty stories up. An elevator shaft, with the top of the elevator five stories below. The cable would shred his hands, tear up his fingers, he might live, but he whimpered at the thought. "Michael! Geoff! Anybody!" He cried out, the desperation hitting him hard as he tried to pry the window open. He punched the glass once, twice, three times before it shattered and he could clear it from the frame.
Sticking his head out, he could barely see the ground below. Fire trucks were circling, and he tried screaming for them. "I'm up here! Someone help!" He screamed, but his voice was lost on the wind and the sirens.
Gavin whimpered again, the smoke making him hack and cough. Finding a blanket that hadn't yet been set ablaze, he tore it and wrapped his hands with it. Then, he ran, jumped, grabbed onto the elevator cable and slid down with a screech. It groaned under his weight as he landed down hard on it, his hands bloodied from where the blanket had either been shredded through or not covering his skin enough.
Always the lucky one, the elevator doors were open when he kicked in the emergency hatch, and the fire hadn't spread down too far yet. It was coming though, and fast, so he climbed onto the floor and started running down the stairs, hopping rails when he could to save time.
Above him, the top three floors lost their supports entirely and collapsed, bringing down six more floors with their weight. Floor 11 bowed above Gavin's head, and the roaring of the flames pushed him to go even faster. The smoke he'd breathed in was making him hack and cough, his lungs feeling like they were going to burst, but he kept going.
Four more floors collapsed from above him and brought the flames ever closer to him. The building was engulfed in the flames by now, the firefighters not able to keep up with how fast the building was tearing itself apart with the flames. When he finally burst through the lobby doors onto the street, he nearly collapsed right there, feeling like it was impossible to catch his breath. EMTs swarmed him, and not far behind, Geoff emerged from the fascinated crowd.
"Sir, I'm going to need you to step back and stay out of our way, this man needs to go to the hospital right away," one of them scolded, holding Geoff back as two others led Gavin away.
"That's my boyfriend, I’m his boyfriend!" Geoff shouted, pushing past the woman without much regard and slipping into the ambulance before the doors were slammed shut. "Fuck, Gav. I don't know how the hell you made it out of there." Geoff's voice was rough and raw from the amount he'd been screaming, trying to get someone's, anyone's, attention that Gavin was in there and he was stuck and he was going to die and why was no one listening to him?
"Me neither," Gavin whispered, coughing hard as they slipped an oxygen mask over his face. They asked about his hands, which were bloodied and had some fabric embedded into the wounds. "I... I climbed down the elevator cable so I could get to some stairs. The top floor didn't have stairs, just the elevator, and the whole floor is the apartment."
"And what were you doing there by yourself?" They asked incredulously, as if Gavin was a criminal who had broken in and set the fire himself. He wasn't one for cat burglary or arson.
"We live... lived there," Geoff spoke up, his face twisting into a frown as Gavin continued to cough. "Gav and I, some of our friends, their partners. The rest of us were out, and Gav had some work he wanted to get done so he stayed back."
The EMTS nodded and then were silent as they fixed up Gavin's hands, the drive to the hospital feeling far too drawn out.
"Geoff," Gavin whimpered after a few minutes, and he jumped into action, smoothing the lad's hair back and doing what he could to be soothing. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay, buddy... All I care about is that you're alive. The rest of that shit can be replaced, that's not an issue," he promised, leaning to press a kiss to his temple. "I will say, you showed some bravery none of us expected out of you. Fucking sliding down an elevator cable like some sort of action hero? Michael's gonna love hearing about that."
Gavin laughed, feeling like he could breathe a little easier as the heavy smoke was pushed from his lungs. "I didn't have as triumphant of an exit as I wanted, though."
"No one emerges triumphantly from that sorta thing, Gav," Geoff chuckled, shaking his head fondly. "It's okay. You're okay." Another kiss to the lad's temple, and then he was following the gurney to the ER room where Gavin would be staying until they were sure he was better.

Do You want to know a secret?
Pairings: Frankie 'Catfish' Morales X Gender Neutral Reader
Author's Note:  Sorry for the repost, Tumblr has been a little weirdo and decided it didn't like this fic so somehow deleted it completely! If I’ve overlooked anything that might imply anything other than gender neutral please give me a heads up and I will correct it <3
Frankie happens to meet the younger miller sibling at a party and drama ensues.
Tumblr media
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
Frankie tightens his grip on the steering wheel of his truck and tries to keep himself calm. The loud music from the party drifts in through the window, causing him to sigh.
'It's just party, it's a safe place. Your brothers are inside. Just go in, have a drink, show face and if it gets too much get the fuck out of dodge.' He repeats the mantra over and over again. So caught up in his thoughts, he doesn't see movement out of the corner of his eye.
BANG
"MOTHERFUCKER" Frankie nearly launches himself through the front window at the sudden interruption.  Heart racing, he turns to the source of the noise, only to see Santiago giggling with his face pressed up against the door.
"I swear to God Pope, one of these days I'm going to end you!" he growls, quickly opening the door and knocking his friend in the face with it.
"Owwwww" Santi whines, rubbing his nose. Frankie just smirks.  "Serves you right pendejo"  Grabbing his cap off the passenger's seat, he shoves it on his head like a protective shield and jams his hands in his pockets.
"Thought you were never gonna get out of that fucking truck Fish" Santi teases but only receives a half hearted shrug of the shoulders in return. He feels a pang of sympathy for his friend and quickly  tries to reassure him.
"Look, I know you're not the best with people, but it's a party! Just have a drink and relax. God knows you need to chill out yeah? Lets head in, it's fucking freezing out here."
Both men trudge up the driveway towards the house, Santi gives Frankie a playful nudge before opening the door and heading inside. Frankie takes a deep breath to brace himself before heading into the 'warzone' The Millers party is in full swing. With the combination of Will's organisation (there is enough alcohol here to open a liquor store) and Benny's love of people, the house is jam packed and the partygoers want for nothing while they are here. Santi is in his element and happily mingles with everyone, smiling and hugging people as he goes. Frankie makes a beeline for the kitchen, his usual designated safe place and finds Will is already there, chatting away to an unfamiliar face. Will's face lights up when he eventually sees his friend and calls out
"Hey man! Didn't think you were actually going to make it"
Will excuses himself from the person he was talking to and rushes over to give Frankie a bear hug.
"Pope can be pretty persuasive when he wants to be" Frankie has to shout a little to be heard.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear, Santi tackles Will from the side and a tussle breaks out. Frankie just rolls his eyes and grabs himself a beer to watch the show. The boys have a quick catch up in the kitchen before Will is stolen away to play party host. Frankie is nursing his second beer and trying to keep himself calm when he suddenly gets a quick jab in the ribs from Santi.
" What the fuck man?" he growls at his friend. Santi slides closer to him before informing him
" You've caught someone's eye hermano" and subtly nodding over to someone behind Frankie.
Frankie does a quick glance over his shoulder to where Pope gestured and suddenly feels his breath leave him. Standing in the corner of the kitchen has to be the most beautiful person he had ever had the pleasure of seeing. While everyone else is decked out to the nines, they have opted for a more casual approach which he loves. A further glance up and he sees the warm smile which is currently being given to him. Be still my beating heart is all Frankie can think. Ever the Hawk, Santi notices his brother's heart eyes and doesn't hesitate to shout over.
"Hey! Fancy joining us? "
Well that sure as hell snaps Frankie out of his daydreams and panic runs through him. Whipping round he sees Santi wiggle his eyebrows at him and shoot  him a thumbs up with a shit eating grin. Frankie feels his face flush muttering curses under his breath. He's definitely going to end Pope, he just has to figure out how to make it look like an accident. Their new guest is quick to make their way over to them and introduces themselves.
"Hi, I'm jinx"
Frankie gapes down at the hand that is currently extended to him but makes no move to shake it. He feels utterly betrayed by his body right now.' Why are you so fucking awkward?' He wants to shout to himself.
Jinx gives Frankie an unsure look as though maybe regretting coming over. Santi is quick to take the lead  and playfully pushes Frankie out the way to  get to Jinx.
"Jinx! What a great name. I'm Santiago and this useless bastard here is my favourite flyboy Frankie" Jinx lets out a belly laugh at this and Frankie has to hold onto the counter to keep himself upright. A small pang of jealous shoots through him at the thought of Santi being able to make Jinx laugh like that. 'Smooth bastard' he thinks bitterly. After a few moments of listening to the two of them talk, Frankie gets his wits about him and is able to engage Jinx in a conversation. And boy is he given a run for his money. Jinx is funny, sharp as a tack and sarcastic as hell. Frankie finds himself falling a little deeper as time goes on and can't for the life of him remember now why he didn't want to come to this party.
" I see you boys have finally met the baby of the family"  Benny interrupts the moment, slinging his arm around Jinx's shoulder, squeezing their cheeks together before ruffling their hair. Jinx squawks in outrage and lands a sold punch on Benny's shoulder, causing him to wince. The ensuing sibling squabbling begins to fade out as Frankie feels the colour drain from his face.
"Wait. You're Y/N Miller???? I thought you said your name was Jinx?" Santi questions, casting a glance at Fish.
" It's a nickname my brothers call me because everything always going south whenever I get involved" Jinx replies,  face heating up.
Frankie is in the middle of a meltdown at the new revelation. Of all the people at this fucking party, he had to be pining after his brothers' younger sibling. Frankie groans in realisation, causing everyone to turn at look at him in sync.
"You good there Fish? you're looking a little pale." Frankie is suddenly brought back to the group, embarrassed by being  caught out.
"Fine, awesome, Fantastic" Frankie replies with a nervous laugh. Benny narrows his eyes at him before  throwing another curve ball into the conversation, causing Jinx to look away in embarrassment.
"I hope the two of you kept your hands off baby Miller, I know what you're like Garcia!" Benny warns, point a finger at him.
"Not me you have to worry about" Santi mutters under his breath, causing Frankie to elbow him roughly in the side. Benny just glares at the both of them. 'And that is enough fun for one evening, time to retreat' Frankie decides and makes his excuses to his friends. He makes sure to tell Jinx how lovely it was to meet them and before hightailing it out of the kitchen. He's nearly at the front door when he feels a hand on his arm and turns to see Jinx looking at him nervously.
" Look I know this goes against protocol with you and the guys, but I had a really fun time tonight and I'd really like to spend more time getting to know you if you were interested as well. .."  Jinx is suddenly cut off by Benny shouting "YO JINX WHERE YOU AT?"  Sighing, they shove a piece of paper into Frankie's hand , and give it a tight squeeze.
" Balls in your court  Frankie" and then they disappear into the crowd to find Benny. Frankie looks down at the number in his hand, hardly believing his luck. Maybe Pope can live for another day.
After a lot of back and forth, Frankie bites the bullet and texts Jinx. Palms clammy he rewrites the message for the millionth time before launching the phone on the table and throwing himself dramatically on the couch. He has had found a lot of bad thoughts creep into his mind over the past few days since the party which kept him from messaging sooner.
'What have I possibly got to offer? Am I good enough? Why would they want to get involved with a washed up old army man? What if this is a joke? Frankie is pulled from his thoughts by a loud buzz and a coldness washes through him. Moment of truth. Taking a deep breath before glancing down at his phone, a surprised laugh suddenly escapes him.
Messaged received from Jinx: Took you long enough flyboy. You owe me dinner for making me wait.
It's been so long since he had felt this light and care free and it was Jinx who had brought that out in him. After messaging constantly back and forth, it was decided that their first date would be at a cosy little diner. This eased Frankie's mind as he was already a nervous wreck without bringing a fancy establishment into the mix. It was easy to talk to Jinx and Frankie found himself pouring his heart out about his past mistakes: about his substance abuse, how his license had been suspended and how he'd lost his wife and daughter because of it. Shame welled up in him but was swiftly chased away with the feeling of Jinx's hand covering his and the sweet smile they gave him. The next few weeks were honestly the best of Frankie's life. The couple had come to an agreement  that they would keep whatever was going on between the two of them to themselves. To allow their relationship to bloom without any outside interferences (i.e The Miller brothers) Frankie would wake up to texts wishing him good morning which made his day that much brighter. They would sneak in  frequent date nights and their stolen kisses always made him feel like a teenager. His favourite night had to be when they had went out a drive in his truck and sat in the bed of it looking at the stars and making up constellations to make each other laugh. He had made sure to bring a blanket with them and the feeling of Jinx in his arm's quietened all the noise in his head. He was finally at peace.
Of course he felt guilty about sneaking around with Jinx behind his brothers backs but the more time they spent together, the less Frankie began to care about the 'betrayal' His friends are starting to get a bit suspicious of his shiftiness  but Frankie is quick to assure him that everything is fine. And everything was fine until one Santiago fucking Garcia had to go and ruin everything. After a nice dinner and drinks at a nearby restaurant, Frankie and Jinx ended up back at his house for the evening. As soon as the front door closed, the couple were all over each other unable to keep their hands to themselves. Giggling, Jinx dragged Frankie to the couch before playful pushing him onto the couch and quickly straddling him. Hands roam each other's bodies and they are just getting into the swing of things when the front door is rudely thrown open and Santiago comes marching in
"Frankie what the fuck man why aren't you answering my tex....."
Santi stopped abruptly in the living room doorway, doing a perfect imitation of a fish. Both parties just stare at one another before Santi suddenly points at them and shouts
" I fucking knew it!!!!"
" Please, you didn't know shit" Jinx scoffs while Frankie hides his face in his hands out of sheer embarrassment of being caught. Sighing, he gently rolling Jinx off him onto the couch and receives a confused look in return. Frankie drags himself off the couch and makes his way to Santiago, grabbing his shoulders and looking him straight in the eye.
" Pope, I need you to listen to me right now ok, this is important. Me and Jinx have been seeing each other for a couple of months now and its going so good man. I haven't been this happy in a long time. But you CANNOT say anything to Will or Benny about what you saw. If they find out they're going to kill me!"
Santi looks between the two of you, noticing the way Jinx nervously bites their lip, waiting for his answer. Crossing his heart, Santiago nudges Frankie.
"Don't worry guys, your secrets safe with me"
What a load of shit.
 *a few weeks later *
"OK boys listen up! I want a clean fight. Smack talk is allowed but absolutely no contact or you will be disqualified." Jinx announces to the room.
On one side of the table, Santi is rubbing Frankie's shoulder, furiously whispering instructions into his ear, while his friend is just nodding numbly along but not really taking anything in. Across the way he sees the Miller boys sending him death glares. Frankie gulps, why did it have to come to this?
After Santi (who still feels really guilty about it) accidently let it slip at boy's night the previous evening that Frankie and Jinx where sneaking about together, shit hit the fucking fan. In a slight rage, Benny had tried to strangle Frankie for "breaking the bro code" while Santi was trying to pry them apart all the while pleading Fish for forgiveness.  Will  was pacing the floor off to the side giving Jinx a lecture down the phone about the sanctity of brothers in arms and " WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE FRANKIE JINX?"
Eventually the drama had simmered down and an agreement  had been made. This would be settled through a good old game of Beer Pong (which Jinx had picked because the whole crew were all abysmal at it) The terms and condition where as follows:  If Frankie's team won, he could continue seeing jinx to his hearts content and nothing would be said on the matter.  If the Millers won then Frankie was to never see the youngest Miller again and would be forced to live a life of exile ( Will eventually talked his brother down to Fish having to spend a week in the 'doghouse' for his transgressions) Jinx was chosen to referee the match because there wasn't anyone else who could come out to play at such short notice. The only reason Jinx let this go this far was so that their brothers go to do the whole 'overprotective' thing. They scoff at the thought that benny and Will actually believe they had a say in the new relationship.
Regardless of the outcome, Frankie was going home with them tonight.
"Like all great battles, this is to win the hand of your one true love. We know Benny can't shoot for shit so it's Will we have to keep an eye on. We've got this hermano" Santi whispers in Frankie's ear.
The next hour descends into complete chaos as the boy trashed talked one another and take dirty shots and became the most competitive they have ever been! Eventually there is a tie between the two teams and a hush had fallen over the room. This next one would the deciding turn, his last chance. Santi solemnly hands Frankie the ball. No Pressure. Inhaling deeply, Frankie sends up a prayer and takes the shot......
A rabble of noise descends over the room. It takes him a while to understand that Pope is screaming in triumph while Benny is screaming in outrage.  Frankie finds himself quickly scooped up into a hug, with Santi chanting " WE WON, WE WON!!!" in his ear. When he is eventually put back down, he turns round to see Jinx doubled over , tears streaming down their face, laughing  at the madness. There is a tight feeling in his chest as he suddenly realises just how much he loves them.  Sensing movement just behind him, Frankie quickly turns to see Will beside him. The eldest Miller stares him straight in the eye before sighing and shaking his head.
"Listen Fish, i'm not gonna lie I am not 100% ok with this situation. In my eyes, no one is ever going to be good enough for Jinx, but I suppose if they HAVE to be with someone then you are the best man for the job."
Frankie lets out a breath he didn't even realise he was holding. He sticks his hand out to Will who takes it and gives it a firm shake.
"You have no idea how much of a weight that is off my shoulders man. What about Benny?"
" He'll come around eventually, he's just really overprotective of Jinx." Will reassures, clapping Fish on the back and heading into the kitchen to get a beer.
Frankie's shoulders slump in relief that this whole debacle is over. No more sneaking around, stealing kisses and quiet moments together. No more having to keep his feelings a secret. He can still hear Benny grumbling away in the background, arguing that the game was rigged and demanding a rematch. Santi being the shit stirrer that he is, cackles and continues to wind him up, calling him a sore loser. Frankie finally glances back to Jinx who is leaning against the wall smirking at him.
" Ready to claim your prize Francisco?"
Frankie's heart soars.
