Lucifer was trying to focus on doing the papers Diavolo had assigned to him for the night. It was simply impossible. He couldn't focus on anything- not when he could faintly hear the sound of your voice as you sat in the living room with his brothers. He had only recently realized just how much of his mind you were taking up; he saw you every day, and when he didn't he found himself missing you. Whenever he sat in silence, during times like these, he always found his mind drifting off to the familiar vision of you. Your smile, your laugh- anything and everything about you captivated him.

He drew out a long sigh, realizing the long night ahead of him. He'd prepare himself another drink, maybe splash his face with some cold water, and force himself to focus on what needed to be done. He dragged himself out of his office chair and wandered into the kitchen; serving himself a cup of coffee, starting a new batch, and standing in front of the sink to wash his face. The cool water slowly dribbled off his skin, a refreshing sensation that managed to distract him from the sound of approaching footsteps. Before he knew it there you were, handing him a towel with a smile. He hadn't expected you, which was odd considering that he was very aware of your movements, but he took the towel to dry his face with a soft smile and a nod of thanks. You went back to doing what you originally came to the kitchen for, quickly refilling your drink as Lucifer leaned against the counter, watching you. Instead of leaving immediately, however, you paused for a moment to smile at him one last time. And that small action convinced him to indulge himself, just a little.

He quietly spoke up, calling your name to get you to stop in your tracks. As you turned to face the man, you realized he had gotten far closer than anticipated. He took the drink out of your hands, placing it on a nearby ledge, and gently wrapped his arms around your shoulders. You chuckled to yourself, seeing the oldest brother become affectionate was always a funny sight. Yet it was a sight you truly and deeply cherished. The warmth of your body against his had seemed to unwind the mess in his mind a bit, clearing his head. You gave him a brief squeeze with the arms around his torso, and pulled back slightly to look at his face. "Thank you, my dear," he spoke faintly before slipping away and grabbing his cup of coffee once more. He felt that that hug would keep him satiated for long enough to complete his duties. But before he left, he would invite you to join him in his office as soon as you were done with his brothers. You would have to take responsibility for all the time he had lost thinking about you, after all.

Slowly been getting back into working on my main WIP Rituals and Red Tape after kind of burning my writing brain out with the Kel Logs (Video Game Fanfiction audio drama thing). In this last sentence thing Alex is speaking with the leader of the Union about some odd happenings. While editing I had decided early on I wanted to expand on their time in the Hotel since for posting length I sorta breezed through it (also I had no idea what I was gonna do so I moved on to the part I wanted to write lmao)

“Well the place is still standing, I’d say that is worth feeling accomplished for.” I remark while ducking under a sudden 2x4 at head height. “‘preciated. I didn’t mean to be so short with ya, we’re all a little worn thin and seeing you two is the last thing my crew needs for it’s morale.”

really need for people to realise that fictional characters are fictional characters and their actions are dictated by real people making choices for them. "well in real life it would be fine if character did [x] thing" yes well they're not real!!! they don't have agency!! in real life it's fine if a woman chooses to keep a baby, that's literally what being pro-choice is all about, but in fiction i can count on one hand the amount of tv shows that have done abortion storylines, despite the fact that abortion is normal and common and the right to have one literally needs to be fought for in certain countries. and so of course a tv show yet again choosing to have a character keep a baby despite the fact that it barely fits the character is disappointing to some people

tbh im a little more worried about the sheer number of people ive seen who just straight up don't know who cain and abel are 😭 im not even christian but i always figured that was one part of bible lore that's common knowledge??

id expect people to not know who seth is- adam and eve's third child who was born specifically as a gift from god, to replace abel after he died and cain was banished. i get that, bc he's not the one with the important symbolic story like his parents and brothers. but come on guys. cain and abel are everywhere.

you know tbh I'll be very real with you I know more about cain and abel from the internet than I do as a raised catholic LMAO but idk if that's because I just barely paid attention or retained info from catechism/religious classes or if it's because they just focused on the new testament more

also told an irl friend who was also raised catholic about the hazbin abel reveal and they asked me who abel was so I don't think at least for us being raised with christianity helped us with that knowledge LMAO but yeah I think being on the internet enough most would at least have heard of them

I'm SUPER curious to know what became of the populations in the Abattoirs after the gods left. Now that they're (presumably?) no longer being eaten, what're their lives like now?

It honestly depends on the Abattoir! The Gods bailing kind of left things up in the air for each Abattoirs choir to decide how they run things. The saddest part is the Gods never had much influence in the day to day lives of their people aside from eating them. At the current point in the story, none outside of the choir have ever even SEEN the Gods. Now that only a maintenance amount of people are feeding the Abby and choir, people kind of get to do their own thing. Abby 7 had the biggest change in that their Abby straight up stopped working so they are a lil more uh 'grizzled', but there is a wide variety within the others! 4 has a very lax atmosphere where as somewhere like 10 is very management heavy.

but YEA!! i've been thinking a lot about metal slug lately and i just... couldnt resist redrawing my versions, hopefully i do more in the future for more characters n all, i really want to post more metal slug stuff, i love LOVE these silly guys

im not writing anything at the moment cause i really didnt change my headcanons and im kind of tired to write proper paragraphs (i should stop staying up until 3 am to finish drawings? maybe).
