I was freaking scared to watch this but I was super happily surprised about Sukuna's English voice actor! Is his voice as fitting to Sukuna as Suwabe's? No, but it's very good still! I do like it but it doesn't beat Suwabe :'D

Also, one thing which annoys me in dubbed anime is how English speakers can't / won't pronounce Japanese names right. Like if character's name ends with a letter "o". In Japanese, just like in Finnish, it's just "o", not "ou" like English speakers say. You guys add this invisible "u" in "o". Like Gojo is Gojo, not Gojou.

Empowering women and empowering femininity is the original meaning of the Barbie doll. It’s not that you have to be all this to be a woman, but if you are all or some of this, you too are awesome.

And somehow pop culture deliberately changed that narrative. Sexualised, bimbofied, and villainised her, when she actually isn’t responsible for the impossible beauty standards — people are, she’s just a stylised, not-to-scale toy like most others.

Men are frothing because he’s just Ken and I guess they were expecting her to be just Barbie, but that’s exactly what Ken is. Canonically. A badass woman’s himbo boyfriend.

This movie has the potential to radically change the way we collectively see Barbie into what Ruth Handler originally intended, I’m so very excited

equius is not her parental figure, and nepeta isn’t a fussy baby that can’t eat her fruits and veggies! equius isn’t some malicious evil guy, he’s just a stupid little teenager. that goes for eridan too (and i guess like, all of the trolls, but especially those two). nepeta’s not some innocent little baby. she’s the same age as all her friends. she kills huge wild beasts on the regular for consumption.

a lot of dubs i’ve seen, too, make nepeta sound like a toddler, and equius like a whole grown adult man, and i don’t really like it because neither of them are those things. (granted, i don’t watch too many dubs, so maybe i am wrong on this)

tbh I love that Sublime exists.

I'm not familiar enough with her character yet to know how much I like her herself (though I think she had a solid introduction! I like her so far!) but mostly I love the role that she is filling. I love the disability representation, I love that Adrien made a new friend that he silently goes on runs with and shares classes w that he doesn't share with Marinette, I love that Marinette has someone that she can feel threatened by in her relationship, I love seeing Marinette navigate her jealous feelings but with all the character development that came before it (she has learned that hating someone due to jealousy is bad and that she can't judge someone solely for being close to Adrien. She's doing what she wishes she'd done with Kagami to begin with — try to be her friend — but all the while she's struggling with the fact she still feels jealous, even if she won't admit it. That's good character development! Marinette can't turn off her feelings, but she can react to her feelings in different ways! That's what she's doing!). It's nice to have a "love rival" (sort of) who isn't an antagonist (like chloe and lila were) other than kagami (who is now taken and poses no threat). It's nice for Adrien to have a friend that he made on his own! She's basically re-filling the role that Kagami left behind, which is great imo, because it was an important role! Also, I'm so curious to see whatever is going on with her involvement with Tomoe. And I love that she's there to flesh out their new school! The show is kind of starved for civilian characters atm asfhasjklsaj

gjoing fucking insane over mumbo's new video like goth mumbo and punk babe mumbo were funny of course but the work he's put into his town??? he has a lesbian couple!! jill and bill!!! the auction and the juggling and people on stairs and people having conversations !! the details and interactions !!! god his town is so beautiful and diverse and it's amazing to see him so happy with it because it is realky beautiful and full of life !! i'm so incredibly normal about this "small" build he's made (small relative to others) and i love the fact that he's branched off into narrative building because it plays into his strengths as a film maker !! it's beautiful and amazing and i'm here for it

Ooh im about to drop a HOT take here sorry in advance. People who are complaining that pregnancy and motherhood are being explored as The Woman's emotional journey (ignoring Mark's role & his grief as well!) are Pissing me off tbh. One of the hardest things in the world is experiencing a miscarriage and the fact people are 'uncomfy' with it and going well why can't it be something else, why does she have to want kids.. Shut up, it doesn't get to be something else & this was already set up SEASON 1 when Mark mentioned it on the date lmao. This is something a ton of people experience , this deep desire to have a family, and the physical literal inability for your body to hold onto a life is soul crushing for many. The fact Gemma wanted to keep trying and Lumon actively took advantage of THAT hope and her desire, the fact I'm certain they lied to her & told her they could fix it... Gemma apologizing to Mark in the clinic and him making that questioning face and shaking his head.. the fact that the desire, born of Mark & Gemma's love for one another, to have children and a family, is what (*I believe) led Lumon to discover these two, what ultimately allowed them to take advantage of Gemma (and by extension Mark)... the innocence of a new life on the severed floor being a direct parallel to childhood the severance procedure being so similar to birth waking up on the table with that umbilical cord looking speaker.. already im recontextualizing the way Mark sat by the lake after his sister gave birth and just looked out over the water. severance has always been about twisted families, childhood, adulthood, sex, pregnancy, reproduction, innocence, and loss thereof.. get over yourselves the show is supposed to be uncomfortable to explore these ideas it's a fucking dystopia sci-fi
