The way some people straight up deny soft criticism of the BL industry (stuff that isn't even a secret if you don't close your eyes and ears!!!) Criticism by literally LGBTq people working in said BL industry in Thailand..... basically one of the only ones who's voice are most valid here in this discourse. That's not hypocrism of people working in the industry to open their mouth! That's called self-awareness and using this genre to convey a message and trying to fix issues. This is about Step by Step and Lovely Writer atm. But those are not the only dramas who brought up some critic but somehow people get salty now about that little poke from SbS? Did you sleep the past 3 years?? And it's not a coincident that it's always the same topics certain BL dramas brought up!

I feel like some people here don't get that you can criticize your own work place, your own industry, your own country WITHOUT hating, shaming or demonizing it completely! Yall need stop this black & white thinking and the constant urge to feel personally attacked by something like this...

Especially the message of LW (the same people who make SbS now) was that there is nothing wrong about loving BL stories and they do like producing them. BUT that there are some things in the industry that are bad and harmful NOT ALL OF IT, SOME THINGS! Like the treatment of actors and certain topics by companies and producers. And the main theme of LW: the toxic overstepping and overcontrolling shipping culture that can (and did) destroy real life relationships / friendships under the weight of the pretend relationship (pretend as in they are not dating for real (everyone knows that! or should know that! this is also not even a secret if you watch interviews outside of the fun and couple game shows) at least in most of the cases.... in some rare ones yes, in some very rare cases some actors actually date but they are too afraid to come out due to homophobia and the way the industry & fandom treats those cases (source Dr. Thomas Baudinette who studies the industry as a form of queer asian media and interviewed companies and actors since years... somewhere in this he talks about actor relationships, I can't find the time stamp atm))

ALSO the point about exploiting the LGBTq community is NOT about the fans or LGBTq audience who love these dramas. But about businesses and literal Thailand itself. For using those stories and actors / couples for advertising, for marketing, for tourism even. BUT at the same time some don't care for real life LGBTq issues and rights or the fact that Thailand is still not agreeing on equal marriage (which is not just about them not being able to marry but they get denied a lot of things married couples get. alone the fact that they can't see their partner in the case of an emergency in the hospital because 'they are not family'). In the said SbS scene they were literally discussing which pretend couple has the most fans and how they could use their fandom and fan clubs to gain profit. Don't you guys get how fucking frustrating this is for the LGBTq people and allies who work in the BL industry, to get paraded in front of the camera for money and image but still don't get treated equally??? THAT is what they mean with exploiting.... And it's a lot of producers, writers and some actors who voice those points, not just these few self-aware BL dramas. But doing it through the medium they adress is the best way to reach the right people, to make the right people aware and ask for their support. Since they can't say such things directly (even though they should) unless they want to lose their job, they still like to a degree.

And I am sorry but the opinion of actual thai people who are inside that industry is more valid than some random fan who just doesn't want to understand those things in order to enjoy their shows without feeling bad.... What if I tell you that you can do both and that this is not about shaming you or making you feel guilty (unless you participate in toxic overstepping behavior or are actually LGBTq-phobic, then yes feel guilty)! Acknowledging issues, supporting to fix those issues and still have fun with these dramas and actors.... Those things can and do coexist and nobody said otherwise!!

listen. i have no doubt that hussie is seriously committed to being/identifying as clowngender. i will gladly use any pronouns for them. but i think taking it seriously and getting mad at people saying it is a bit... misses the point. like look at who we are talking about. she is a person so deeply irony-poisoned, with such a burning passion for being a shitty snarky little troll. they're a fucking clown in the truest sense of the word. It honestly pisses me off when Obi*d***la shippers pretend to be Padmé stans, when they only discuss her and like her in the hypothetical, “what if” scenario where she chooses OW over Anakin. Otherwise I’ve seen a lot of them refer to her as nothing but “Anakin’s accessories” as if she’s not her own well crafted character, with an immaculate personality apart from Anakin. And they even make fun of her for falling in love with someone 5 years younger, calling her a ped*phile none the less (yet to them, OW wouldn’t be one if he was actually written to have an interest in Padmé 🤡)

I’ve for real, seen these shippers say Padmé was “more precious” in the deleted first drafts of the prequels because she grew an admiration for OW in TPM?? (Which was only considered to benefit the narrative in Anakin’s character arc, not to develop anything between OW and Padmé. It was completely mild and not even confirmed, nor acted upon, was just hinted between scenes, and was ultimately eliminated in the final and canon version. That’s how irrelevant it was, lol.)

And they say she’s a lot more interesting in the deleted concept of ROTS where she was intending to end Anakin’s life on Mustafar (despite that this concept was stated that she would’ve done this out of her love for Anakin, and in the end couldn’t bring herself to kill the love of her life and the father of her children.) How the heck does any of the former make Padmé’s character any more precious than how her canon and final product came out? So Padmé is only lovable in your eyes if she’s interested in OW and is going against Anakin? That’s the epitome of a fake fan, my love. You only acknowledge her and like her character when she can fit into a narrative that YOU personally like. Cry some more.

Really goes to show how mad and insecure they are that Padmé’s eyes and thoughts from the start was always intended to be written on only Anakin 🤷🏾‍♀️ and that she canonically never held any interest or personal regard for OW until she married Anakin. Mind you, her character was also ALWAYS intended to end up falling in love with Anakin. (Even in the old drafts, it was always aimed to be a love story between Anakin and Padmé. Should probably mention, since these weirdos like to bring the old drafts up all the time.) It was them since DAY 1! Even long before the prequels came out. Luke and Leia were and will always be the very proof of Anidala’s love. So run along, cause this whole immature ordeal and obsession for wanting her to choose OW over Anakin was never going to work out no matter what the outcome was. She was always going to choose Anakin.

So my mom knows a lot of (kinda random) stuff and sometimes she'll share it with me. And the other day she talked about the Ying and Yang thingy and it got me thinking

Is about order and chaos. It's about what you know and what you don't; the day and the night. It's not meant to represent evil vs good

Now why am I bringing this up? Because MK is supposed to be the Harbinger of Chaos. See where I'm going?

Chaos is not seen as an evil thing; or not always, at least. Chaos is just... the lack of order. What the Ying and Yang is supposed to represent is balance. There can't be too much chaos, yes, but there also can't be too much order

Qi Xiaotian may be the Harbinger of Chaos, but this only means that he plays a greater part on keeping the balance, well, balanced. He isn't order, and that's good

This can also be seen in his chaotic personality. He's loud and has a hard time listening to other people; he has broken stuff multiple times and pranked people with Mei. Her and MK have always been described as a 'chaotic duo'. Chaos is just part of who MK is! And that's not a bad thing!!

Now that just leaves the question: who is order? Who represents it? Who is the Yang to his Yin?

The main villain we've had so far (LBD, Azure) could be representing order. The Lady Bone Demon wanted a perfect world, a world where there was no chaos; the world she wanted, one she could rule. Azure Lion wanted to overthrow the Jade Emperor to become emperor himself (also, wow, parallels) and keep the peace while also being just and fair to everyone. But I don't really feel like that's enough, y'know?

None of the characters we've seen so far represent order the way MK represents chaos. My first thought was "Mei could be order!" to have some kind of "sun and moon" tragic duo, but it's not very good because Mei is also very chaotic (order is not what you think when you first look at her. Chaos, or chaotic, is what MK reminds people of)

Maybe Bai He? But we haven't seen much of her yet. I would like to have her and MK as a fun duo though. And with the order comparisons w LBD and Bai He having been possessed by her... yeah I think that'd be some good material for a very angsty episode/season

So! The conclusion! MK being the Harbinger of Chaos is not a bad thing and he is literally just helping keep the balance

Ya’ll I love Sonic and Tails being brothers and all that but I litterally need more of them FIGHTING like… not just sibling arguing about smth stupid fights… I need like whole ass yelling and tears and stuff

And then they don’t talk to each other for like a week cause Sonic doesn’t know how to talk to Tails/ start an apology, ESPECIALLY since they’ve never fought and Sonic has no idea what to expect from Tails… like does he want an apology? A gift?? Like a letter or an email?? Which would be better. (Also he assumes that if Tails doesn’t come to him first, then Tails probably doesn’t want to talk yet.)

While Tails doesn’t want to talk to Sonic w/o him coming to him fiest, cause he’s stubborn and he feels like even though both of them are in the wrong, he assumes Sonic should be the type to apologize first. He’s still planning an apology though and reciting it maybe.

And they’re both just stressing out abt it the entire time.

Of course, after some time, they both get tired of stressing and idk who would apologize first but SOMEONE’S APOLOGIZING then they make up and it becomes a funny story like “oh remember that time we fought over this”

I need that to be real cause the only heartfelt argument they had is litterally either this one (which was a stupid topic tbh I didn’t really like the reason for that fight) or from fancomics (Sonic prime doesn’t count cuz thats Nine, not Tails)

ghost game is literally the only time i think they've ever done it alright from a system's perspective

mostly because while yeah, that whole conflict comes to a head at the climax of the series, it also doesn't end in some annoying shit where either gammamon Learns To Control His Evil Side (functionally destroying gulus) or Finds A Better Higher Power (technically he does as siriusmon but), he just goes DUDE YOU NEED TO CHILL and gulus grumpily obliges after getting the shit kicked out of him.
