I was trying to find a specific quotation from a book and in searching around I got onto a reddit thread where people were bashing lists of things in novels and I know that people are different and like different things and still all I could think was WHAT!!!!!!!!

I literally love lists they are the best way of showing anything in fiction. Lists show the passage of time, they show what people think and care about, they show the way people have internal structures and how they try to impose them on the disorder of the world. I cannot think of anything that communicates more succinctly or magically in novels than lists, nothing I love in my fiction more. The parts of books that live in my head rent free are almost all lists.

Give me more lists. GIVE ME MORE.

also on that note the ppl in the tags of my poll who r saying lolita is expensive to get into is like. yeah, to some extent it is. but it doesn’t HAVE to be. the main thing you need for lolita is a good, quality petticoat, which yeah can be expensive sometimes. mine’s an aurora and ariel and i think it was about £40 - and it’s probably the most i’ve spent on lolita fashion. places for secondhand clothing online will be your best god damn friend, honestly. i have three op’s and two jsk’s and all of them were from vinted and i didn’t spend more than £30 on any of them. the shoes i wear with almost all my coords were also second hand and about £20. lolita is a harder fashion to build a wardrobe for sure, but it is possible on a budget. save your money, look for deals, do your research. genuinely the main thing you need is patience - you won’t get a full wardrobe right away, and you have to be okay with that. invest in a petticoat, find cute doll shoes at a thrift store, keep an eye out on secondhand apps and sites. you’ll get there, and you’ll look beautiful
