Ali Robertson is almost in residency at The Old Hairdresser's, Glasgow: 6/10/23 & 7/10/23.

Ali Robertson will be squatting in The Oldhairdresser's for forty-eight hours next week so that he can hop the bill at TWO cavalcades of real OUT sound: on Fri 6th, Robertson will have the pleasure of performing a duo with esteemed warbler Nichola Scrutton and on Sat 7th he will hog the spotlight on his lonesome. Ali Robertson did Rough Mix & Mega Mix at Summerhall, Edinburgh and survived. And more!

Bet youse never had Ali Robertson collaborating at a theatre company’s creative lab on yr 2024 bingo cards, eh? Well that's what happened for two weeks and on Fri 11th October I was involved in four of the five performances that came from the intensive fortnight of creating and rehearsing. I'll not lie: I found myself squirming in the first couple of days. Pretty sure I was the only lunk with nae formal arts training and theatre terminology left me scratching my noggin, but lead artists Eszter Marsalko, Evie Waddell, Amy Conway, Lucas Chih-Peng Kao & Lewis Hetherington made me feel super welcome and Nicholas Bone & the Magnetic North crew & my fellow collaborating artists & performers were fantastically supportive in what turned out to be really interesting and loads of fun. Many thanks to all involved! WHAT NEXT? DINNAE KEN! WATCH THIS SPACE!

How would youse feel? You've just gone through a bruising divorce with yr artistic partner of two decades and then folks are asking why you havnae updated yr Tumblr site? Jeeeeeezo..... As most of youse will be aware, I (Ali Robertson) am somewhat technologically inept. All that stuff that Usurper used to say about being "luddites"? That wasnae schtick. It's fact! And for this reason, I am awaiting a time when my kind pal, Kirstie Paton, can lend me her time to faff with this page on my behalf and make the links, etc more relevant to all things Giant Tank-related.
