Watching the ENA video(power of potluck). While it has your typical surrealism, however it takes on a slightly different approach. Rather than it about ENA going to an adventure and seeing that world, it more of a character study of at least yellow-blue ENA. We show ENA is having trouble finding fun or rather happiness. She quite literally uses a mask to cover her blue sad side. She goes to this theatre to see how she can find this true form. Also when yellow ena is talking, she is a lot less energetic compared to the previous episode and that energetic vibe goes to the mask. The mask has this parasitical relationship to ENA. With the many acts she goes through, she still doesn't get that fun that others get. It only when she was the skull therapist, she realized she had been faking a lot of this joy to others and realized she had that fun, it just different. In the end she ponders while looking at the strange frog thing.

To me in my interpretation of this video, it can be about how neuro-divergent(especially high functioning) feels when masking in a world that can be strange. Sure ENA's way of fun and joy might be different, but still valid and has friends like mooney to have that fun. Even then her version of joy is valid. Also ENA is the one that usually questions the weird stuff, which as someone who high functioning neuro-divergent, moot. If you look at the comments of the video you see many relating to that masking and trying to be more "real" or masking it less.

OH YEAH and yeah idk maybe the big skull fungus very well could be like, a god. that it could be like, the one god shroom. i remember people before sotf were wondering if the mushroomos infected sozo(nious) on purpose because of the implication that its a god was in the file name even before the lore tablets mentioned it.. i think. i havent seen them for myself either besides small glances IT ALSO HAS A WHITE STEM?? If it is a god shroom then everything explodes because It's A God Shroom it could do whatever it wants for any reason . In which Sozo has a god in his body/brain(???) and that's why it can drag him with it when it's revived. and that is a Theory I've proposed before but then it's like. WHY would a god shroom NOT infect more than just Sozo. Surely it wants to propagate right??? Otherwise why infect at all?? Unless it just wanted a vessel??

Sabine had been so distracted, she hadn’t realized she was no longer the only person in her library.

Tristan had breezed in, settled down in her abandoned spot on the lounge, and picked up the letter from Ezra.

“Hey! That’s personal!” she snapped, jumping up and snatching it from him.

Her brother looked up at her and raised an eyebrow.

“What does that mean?”

Sabine stomped back over to her desk and sat down, pulling out a second sheet of paper. “It means that it’s my business, not yours.”

“As your older brother, I think it is my business. After all, you’ve been sending a concerning amount of letters to him, and you won’t let anyone else see his replies.”

“Because it’s personal,” she repeated, not bothering to explain that out of the last six letters she’d sent, he only bothered to reply to the last one, and not very nicely, either.

“Which is exactly why we’re all worried.” She hunched her shoulders and focused on writing.

She was a few paragraphs in when he spoke again. “And it looks like I was right to be worried, because this, little sister, is a pretty compromising letter.”

Sabine blinked, bewildered. “Compromising?” She turned around in her seat and let out a furious cry. That letter—it had had two pages, and Tristan must have let her only snatch the first page without her noticing, because he had the second one in his hand now. “Tristan!”

“Oh, yes, very compromising. I quote—” He held up the letter and read aloud. “It was so nice of you to use all those tender words in your last message to me—have you been writing love notes?”

What she had been writing was a horribly rude letter where she called Ezra every name she could think of, and he’d got sarcastic over it in his reply, which Tristan had to know because the next sentence of that letter was a few of those phrases quoted, but he was apparently being a very selective reader now.

So, Sabine didn’t explain, and just stood, clenching her jaw. “Give me that, and get out of my library.”

He just reclined on the lounge, grinning and kicking his feet up. “You know, I’ve had a few… ah… romantic escapades, in my time. I can be trusted with a secret. So confide in me. Exactly what sweet nothings have you been writing to your adoring Prince?”

“Give it to me and get out, Tristan!”

“Should I make some guesses?” Tristan asked, jumping to his feet to avoid the sofa pillow she hurled at him. Sabine followed him, advancing slowly, fists clenched. “I bet he sends you long letters about his earnest and eternal love, and you send him back coquettish garbage acting like you don’t understand anything he says, so he’ll say it to you again.”

“That’s ridiculous,” she snapped, snatching at the sheet of paper that he held away from her.

“Oh, no, it happens all the time. I’ve fallen for it myself. I still have the letters I got from my old sweetheart when I was your age, if you need proof. Or reference materials for the next time you write—I’m sure the little minx wouldn’t mind you borrowing a few of her shameless hints for your own flirtation.”

“It’s not a flirtation!”

“My bad,” Tristan sang, dodging around a chair so it was between the two of them, and moving side to side in time with her to keep it that way. “But in my defense, I had no idea you and he were serious.”

“We’re not!”

“When did you two first get an understanding?”

“We don’t have one!”

“Now that I look back—this all started last summer, when we were in Jedha, didn’t it? He must have been trying to win your heart then, and I can only assume you strung him along for weeks like the sadistic little witch you are, before you gave in.”

She cursed at him, no longer cold from the drafty walls but so warm she felt like she was crawling out of her own skin. She didn’t know if it was from the excitement of finally getting the letter, the heat of the fire, or the flustered burning in her face, and she didn’t really care.

“I may regret asking this,” Tristan said without a trace of regret, whatsoever, at all, in a million years. “But how did ol’ Prince Di’kut manage to woo you? Did he act gallant and noble and play at courting you? Or was this a…” Tristan wiggled his eyebrows and leaned in to whisper, momentarily dropping his guard. “A passionate-midnight-meetings sort of affai—”

I don't know how much longer my comics hyperfixation will last, but I'm trying to force my brain to persevere just a tiny bit longer. I just want to read hulk and namor, them maybe go back and read Howard the Duck (and maybe other humour comics, if i find the time). But that's it. I've already read so much since like january, so i should be able to content myself with the knowledge that i've read nearly every 60s marvel comic.

That being said, i still don't know how to feel about my comics hyperfixation still being here. It's been here for like half a year, and so my brain almost wants to tell me that it's a sign that my interests aren't changing as much because I'm getting older. Which apparently is another excuse for me to get existential. It's not fun, but this is just how my brain seems to operate. Maybe i can make another post about all this later, if i mange to find time (or remember to write it).

Omegaverse Headcanons

Omegas/Alphas go into Heat/Rut for the first time around age 16-18.  Anatomy is mostly consistent with AGAB not secondary gender, though there are differences, especially noticeable for biologically male omegas and biologically female alphas. 

Rut happens 3-4 times a year on roughly a 14 week (98 day) cycle, day 1-88 normal; day 89-90 build up of hormones causing scent to be stronger, and the alpha to be more sensitive expressed typically in aggression and anger; day 91-94 ‘actual’ rut incredibly possessive, horny, and instinctual; day 95-98 hormones begin to balance out, still somewhat sensitive during this time. 

Heat happens ~2 times a year on a 28 week (196 day) cycle; day 1-181 normal; day 182-184 ‘preheat’ causing extreme sensitivity typically expressed mostly in crying and clinginess; day 185-190 ‘actual’ heat, very clingy, needy, horny, instinctual; day 191-192 recovery from extreme sex or withdrawals from lack of sex, needs lots of water and food for energy; day 193-196 hormones continue to balance and return to normal.

Heat and rut suppressants both exist, but don’t completely stop it, just make it more manageable and shorter. (Heats normally ~10 ‘active’ days shortens to 3-4 ‘active’ days - Ruts normally ~5 ‘active’ days shortens to ~2 ‘active’ days)

Pill suppressants must be taken every day starting two weeks leading up to the heat/rut, during, and one week after, if one day is missed before or during it will start early and be moderately worse than a normal one, if not taken during the week after, there will just be minor hormonal issues. There are also patches that you put on two weeks before you start a heat/rut that last through the whole thing, but they were made relatively recently compared to the pills, and still getting popularized, and currently works better and is more tested for ruts rather than heats due to persistent lack of focus on Omega rights (inequality).

History (only really applicable in Earth-adjacent worlds):

Omega rights movement started around 1950, some old fashioned way of thinking still exists, discrimination technically illegal, not really enforced.  Population is split 49-25-25-1 Beta-Alpha-Omega-Enigma.  Enigmas typically don’t want to mate, don’t have heats/ruts and are much less fertile than even Betas; Enigmas can pull characteristics from seemingly all three other types and hormones vary wildly depending on the individual, sometimes HRT is used to balance hormones, but only if the Enigma wants it. 

Omega Rights History:  Legally were property, though abuse of an Omega was illegal and highly punishable. 1950s, Omegas started protesting for rights to vote, go to secondary and post-secondary schooling, and to not be property.  Omega Rights Act of 1978 allowed for adult Omegas to live on their own, get higher education, and theoretically enter higher level positions, though discrimination runs rampant.  Anti-Omega Discrimination Act of 1992 was passed, making it illegal to discriminate against Omegas, of course it still happens.

Anatomy

Female Alpha - Because of ruts, the menstrual cycle is often disrupted or irregular for female alphas, this also causes low fertility when on the receiving end of penetrative sex, though it is still possible to carry a pregnancy. Have internal testicles that contain sperm and act as the knot when in rut. This organ starts to form about 30 days before their first rut. This can cause cramping and pain, but is often misconstrued as period cramps. Pregnancy will pause ruts if the female alpha has presented, and will delay the formation of the testicles if they haven’t yet. The testicles are located in a space between the vagina and the anal canal, when not in a rut it acts similar to a male prostate When in rut, this organ, as well as the clitorus, grow and extend to roughly the same size as male alpha penises/knots and can be used for penetrative sex. Pre-and-post-rut the clitorus is slightly enlarged and is very sensitive for a few days before and after.

Male Alpha - When not in a rut, male alphas penises are normal, only a very slightly thicker base where the knot forms during rut. This change can be noticeable as early as 4 months before their first rut happens. When in a rut, the knot enlarges to ~⅓ full size, then swells to full size upon orgasm.

Female Omega - Menstruation and hormones are mostly normal for the first ~180 days of the cycle, but the cycle gets disrupted by an influx of hormones, resetting the menstrual cycle and making it more likely for ovulation to occur during or slightly after the heat.

Male Omega - Penises and testicles are average size when not in heat, but shrink during heat and the influx of progesterone and estrogen. Difficult to get an erection, but not impossible, during heat. ‘Pre-heat’ part of the heat cycle is usually a little bit longer than female omegas, and ‘actual heat’ is a little bit shorter to allow for more time for the body to acclimate to the influx of hormones. Bladders are also smaller than average (leading to many disparaging jokes at the expense of male omegas) in order to make more room for a uterus, ovaries, and cloacal flap connecting to a vaginal canal which is located just past the internal anal sphincter. This cloacal flap stays mostly closed when they are not in heat (there is a small opening for vaginal discharge to exit from), and the ovaries are inactive until the first day of ‘pre-heat,’ only producing an ovum once every heat. If the omega is not impregnated during this time, they will menstruate after the heat is over. Formation of these internal organs begins approximately 6 months before a male omega has their first heat, and can cause cramping and abdominal pain.

One thing I really wonder about with the Elden Ring dlc coming is the way the demigods all seem like they might still be alive. All of them continue talking after they've perished, their words echoing in the air; this may be a "death is obviously weird in Elden Ring" thing more than that they're "alive" per se, but the way the scarlet aeonia spell says Malenia "will" become a true goddess and the devourer's scepter says it "will one day become the very symbol of the Lord of Blasphemy" combined with Rykard at least definitely kind of still being there and his comment about how he won't be held captive. Well all together it makes for a "what's up with this" vibe.

EDIT: Oh and of course the mausoleums and everything there. Housing soulless demigods that aren't technically dead? The concept that an eclipse can bring their souls back? I know there's a dark souls reference with the eclipse and the sunlight shields, but I still feel like that'll be dlc relevant.
