So I’d been teasing on Friday Morning Cozy Platformer Stream for ages that I wanted to do some Hollow Knight fanart, and I finally painted this onstream last Thursday. If you’re not familiar with Hollow Knight, this lil guy is our Lil Guy and they’re on an adventure and they accidentally flirt with Bardoon here and now they’re boyfriends and I love this game and I am a very very good gamer.

Prompt #34

Little three year old Danny Fenton died when he accidentally zapped himself with a live wire. The parents were devastated, and tried all that they could to bring him back, and they succeeded!

In a week they managed to resurrect their baby by making him half-ghost.

But ever since then he would have random and unpredictable fits of aggression and violence. Sometimes they would be mere days apart, other times they would be several months apart.

So unfortunately they had to keep him under control. To do that they put a padded shackle that he couldn’t phase out of around his ankle, chained to the wall with a rubber coated, lightweight, double-reinforced, long chain.

His new room was a little corner of the lab sectioned off by a semicircle of glass with toggle-able fogginess. You might have thought that it was plain and sterile like the rest of the lab, and you’d be wrong, it was pretty cozy. The space was bigger than his old room, and the ceiling was twice as high. He had a desk and chair, three bird nest-like hammocks(one of which was more like a hidy-hole), his old bed, a couch and tv with a wii console, a mini-fridge for juice and water, a shelf for snacks, little model spaceships hanging from the ceiling, and monkey bars. The hammocks and monkey bars were attached to the wall, though that wasn’t a problem for him since he could fly. The wall was painted with a mural of the night sky and there were NASA posters plastered everywhere.

Even with the parents busy schedules they took the time to homeschool him, and encouraged his love of astronomy.

The Fentons hired a whole team devoted to his wellbeing, a doctor, a therapist, a tutor for when neither of them had the time, a lawyer, and even a specific CPS agent came to visit him every once in a while to bring him his favorite tea.

The FentonWorks lab was heavily secured, with voice activated and handprint required entry, so many firewalls that the place was harder to hack into than the Pentagon.

Fortunately for Sam, her best friend has had plenty of experience hacking into the Pentagon. So she brought him along to break her in when she heard that there was human experimentation going on in FentonWorks.

What she didn’t expect to see was a healthy looking(if a bit pale) boy, lounging on a couch playing video games on a large tv while snacking on a bag of Doritos at three AM.

A boy that would soon be let outside the lab for the first time in eleven years to attend high school.

Man, I really like making Danny grow up thinking that being the product of your parents lab experiment is normal.

Date nights weren’t rare—they made time for them whenever they were free, adjusting their schedules as needed—but date nights where they dressed up and went out were a bit more…special, happening once every other month. They mostly preferred spending their nights together in their cozy apartment: cooking dinner together, playing board games, and then capping the night off with a movie and a couple of glasses of the nice wine they saved for the occasion. 

Sometimes, they’d paint artworks to hang on the fridge or make little clay sculptures to place on the shelf with all their other knick-knacks. Other nights, they’d each grab a random book, read it for a couple minutes, then switch—it was like a game, diving headfirst into a story through a random chapter, having no idea what the hell happened before then.

Tonight, however, they had a reservation at the new Italian place that opened up just a couple blocks away.

Mila was sitting at the vanity, adding some final touches to her outfit. She’d chosen the little red dress Nico loved on her, paired with her pearl earrings and a few rings. She’d gone a bit more glam for her makeup—it was a pretty nice place after all—but used lightweight products to keep things comfortable

Nico was already ready, lounging on the bed in a blue button-up and his favorite dress pants, scrolling through his phone. Occasionally, he’d chuckle at whatever he was seeing, the only other sound filling the room being their shared playlist—90s pop and a bit of Swiss rap, a mix that had somehow become their thing.

Mila carefully applied her lipstick, a cool red shade she adored. She blurred the edges with her finger, taking her time.

“Why do you put it on just to blur most of it out?” Nico sat up from the bed. “Isn’t it a bit of a waste?” There was no judgment in his tone, just a genuine curiosity for Mila’s little lipstick ritual.

“It’s to make it look like,” she dabbed her lips one last time before capping the lipstick, “Like you’ve been kissed.” A playful smile tugged at her lips, her eyes glinting mischievously.

Nico hummed in response, rising from the bed and strolling over to her. He placed his hands on either side of the vanity, effectively caging her in.

“You know,” he murmured, leaning close enough that she could feel his breath on her neck, “I could do that for you.” He pressed a light kiss to her cheek. “Help blur it out.”

Mila turned to face him, her hand lifting to rest against his cheek, feeling the roughness of his growing stubble. “I think you’re too late for this particular application, honey,” she teased, “I’d like some help in the future though.”

Nico's expression shifted, something dark and challenging sparking in his eyes. “It’s never too late,” he whispered, closing the gap between them with a kiss—deep, warm, full of passion. It was just like her Nico. She felt his smile against her lips as he pulled away, admiring the smudged red like an artist surveying their masterpiece.

“Perfect,” he muttered, kissing her again before effortlessly lifting her from the chair, switching their positions and settling her on his lap. Her legs straddled his thighs, her dress riding up slightly as her arms draped around his shoulders. Another smile tugged at his lips. “Always so perfect for me.”

Mila glanced at herself in the mirror, lips now thoroughly ruined. “You messed up my lipstick,” she pouted, though there was no real complaint in her voice.

Nico laughed softly, “I’m sorry, baby.” He plants a kiss onto her cheek. “Let me make it up to you.” He kissed her other cheek, then her nose, her forehead, her chin—until finally, he placed a soft kiss on each of her eyelids. She giggled as his lips met the delicate brush of eyeshadow.

When he kissed her lips again, time seemed to stop. It was just them, lost in their own world. He gazed at her like she was his entire universe, and Mila cupped his face, returning a brief kiss before whispering, “We’re late for our dinner reservation.”

“Oh no.” Nico grinned, not an ounce of regret in his eyes. “Guess we’ll just have to stay in.” His hands slid down to her hips, his lips pressing against the curve of her neck.

She smiled, her heart already softening at the sight of his pleading eyes. How could she ever say no to that look? “I suppose we have to,” she murmured, guiding his hand to the zipper of her dress. “Help me with this?”

His eyes darkened with satisfaction as he gently tugged the zipper down.

“Always.”

They’d just have to try that restaurant another time.

Lazy Sunday 🩷

So this is what some of the guys would do on a lazy Sunday with you, time skip obviously :)

Kenma

- always an early riser cause he goes to bed at like 10pm

- Feels icky if he sleeps in

- If you like to sleep late he totally respect that, will likely be playing his switch next to you (prob breath of the wild or tears of the kingdom, I feel like he really likes LOZ)

- Sometimes will make you breakfast, most likely pancakes

- Likes to clean on Sundays, so will also sometimes get started on cleaning depending on how much energy he has

- You guys try to get it out of the way early so you have the rest of the day to relax

- Will also edit some videos too if you like to sleep in

- If not, the first hour or so if you guys being awake will likely be in silence doing separate activities in bed cuddling

- Once you guys finally get up and clean, Mario party feels like a must

- Sundays are such a cozy day for you guys, so you’ll likely get takeout for at least one meal, most likely dinner

- It’s a day of sitting in comfy clothes, making the couch kind of like a bed, if you have a cat, obviously lots of snuggles

- But overall, lots of gaming, maybe a movie, some tea and blankets

Oikawa

- depends how wild Saturday was for how long he’ll sleep

- If he was out late, could sleep until like noon

- If he went to bed at a normal hour he’s up early and going for a run

- Definitely makes you a cute little breakfast, prob pancakes or something, and will wake you up with coffee (or drink of choice) and kisses :)

- Is one of those Sunday reset people, so cleaning, grocery shopping, other maintenance stuff (such pretty boy energy if you’re getting your nails done he’s going with and getting a manicure, clear coat of course)

- After all the errands are done loves doing a self care moment at home, face masks, sometimes at home nails

- Would try his best to paint your nails for you, definitely messes up a little, but you love it anyways

- You guys like to meal prep for the week, so you’ll do that together, and try some of what you guys made made

Sugawara

- Would sleep all day if you let him, teaching full time is exhausting

- Will definitely not want to do anything, he will pick up and wash the big stuff like bedsheets and clothes, but is absolutely not deep cleaning the house

- Definitely tries to convince you to sleep just a little longer

- Loves the kids in his class but god he doesn’t want Monday to arrive

- If he needs to plan any lessons last second he’s doing it Sunday midday in his PJs

- Only reason he’s leaving the house is for classroom/art supplies

- Is all over cooking comfort meals like pancakes and soup

- Has a weekly tradition where he makes a Sunday sweet treat because

- Whole day you guys are a cuddle puddle on the couch watching movies and taking naps

… almost getting scammed by an astrology website with Zenitsu, before finally agreeing that the free version is fine, and who believes in astrology anyway? Clearly, you’re made for each other (despite there being some ~areas of conflict between your charts). 

… board games with Inosuke until one of you rage quits, and the other has to convince them to: stop sulking in the bathroom, and play again. Who rage quits usually depends on the game, and you’re much better at goading him into another round than he is at bribing you.

… a quiet stroll out with Gyomei, so not exactly staying in, but still more peaceful and mindful than going to a bar or attending an event. He compares your presence to the radiant fullness of the moon, and you tuck a fallen flower behind his ear. “How do you know what the moon feels like?” He doesn’t quite know how to explain gentle, mystical tug of moonrise, so he settles for, “I can feel you, and that is more than enough.”

… cleaning and redecorating Kaburamura’s cage with Obanai. It’s a little gross, and a lot of a fun. From teasing him for his obvious doting, “Does Kaburamura really need six donut cozies?” to being flat out rejected, “Sooo that’s a no to body painting? It’s safe for humans! How could it not be safe for snakes?” You end up falling asleep as he dutifully photographs Kaburamura curled up on your shoulder #guess I’ll finish cleaning by myself.

… doing Tanjirou’s make up, and him doing yours. If you don’t own any make up, then you go on a field trip (minimal budget). You randomly pick themes (old fashioned via “from a hat” or modern via “app for raffle draw”), set a time limit, and then send photos of your final looks to your Hashira + Kamaboko group chat to decide on a winner.

… making the most outlandish cocktails (or mocktails) you can think of with Mitsuri. They have to be intricate, original, AND taste delicious (~just okay suffices too), or you put on a pair of socks. By the end of the evening, you’re drunk (or sugar high) as heck, and have at least four pairs of socks on.

… a project with Shinobu. Whether that’s tackling a Lego set, making candles, or deep cleaning a specific room (likely the kitchen or bathroom), the laughter is ever constant, frustration to be expected, and resulting pride and excitement at the final product a worthy reward — not to mention the way she kisses you afterward! *happy sigh*

… cooking with Kyojuro #bet you didn’t see that coming #sarcasm intended teehee. Sometimes it’s complicated, hours long endeavors; other times it’s spaghetti; and there’s always take out if your fancy Huntsman pie doesn’t go to plan. He’s almost unbearably efficient when it comes to cooking tidily, and chops vegetables so quickly that you just marvel at how his fingers are intact.

… watching a movie with Sanemi. This includes: ~arguing over which movie to watch for a solid hour (give or take), another twenty minutes for snack prep, and another half an hour to spontaneously design and build a pillow fort (for the optimal movie watching experience, of course). Even when it’s a movie he swears he despises, he’ll still stay awake through the whole damn thing because it matters to you, and you matter to him.

… creating scavenger hunts for each other with Muichiro. You roll dice to determine who gets to claim which room(s) and in what order, set up your hunts, and then hunt (duh)! Winner gets to choose dinner (or dessert if you already ate dinner), and loser gets to cook aforementioned dinner (or dessert). You usually win, but he notices when you begin making his clues easier, and promptly informs you that he’d rather lose honestly than win on Easy Mode. “Your happy noises whenever I feed you are prize enough for me.”

… planning your future with Giyuu. It’s easy to get caught up in the mayhem of Life™, so evenings in are a grounding, intimate opportunity to reconnect and recenter with him. From cuddling on the couch to dancing in the kitchen to watching the moon’s traverse through your favorite window, you discuss current stressors, recent successes, and your gratitude for each other. It may seem simple, but it’s the little things that fit most snugly in your hearts. “Where do you see us in a year? Five years? A decade?” you ask. His answer remains constant: “Together.”

🐾 he likes to be alone, and is very hesitant to accept help (even if he needs it) but don’t worry gojo can tell, and is here to help

🐾 maybe a puppy/wolf regessor?? i think it fits

🐾 since he’s so small, he uses diapers sometimes

🐾 oversees play dates with nobara and yuji a lot, and tries to keep them under control

so for xiao... he's very much like faker! before he started streaming, he'd been around in the professional gaming scene for years and is a highly respected name for his skill and razor-sharp technique. he was on a professional league team (the yakshas) and at the time, he got a lot of attention as the "baby" of the team, but in his debut play, he trounced the other team so brutally and so decisively that people started making "tiny but mighty" memes (i imagine this in the era of 2010s memes with the impact font lol).

the yakshas as a professional team disbanded due a truly awful series of tragedies that left xiao alone and without a support system. xiao took a few years out of the public eye after that, quitting the professional gaming scene, but he kept in contact with his unofficial mentor, morax (who fans saw as xiao's "big brother" in the gaming industry). when morax began to find success in streaming, he encouraged xiao to join him for a few streamed games, and his chat went crazy seeing the level at which xiao played and begged him to start streaming too, and it all spiraled from there.

xiao's audience is mostly split into two equally passionate camps: people who are there for xiao's mastery of league (this includes his ride-or-die fans from his pro days) and those who are there because they think he's very cute (some of whom get inordinately turned on by his excellent league gameplay). xiao mostly streams with morax these days, but he'll take on a coaching role in other people's streams, particularly for league. he's got a natural propensity for strategy and game mechanics, so he tends to get Pretty Good, Pretty Fast (think boxbox or sykkuno). his chat really loves him. he's very stoic and almost awkward, but it's highly endearing and sometimes the mods will let chatters get away with a little playful teasing or flirting just to see xiao get flustered.

he's a very well beloved streamer with a very strong fanbase!! his merch does super well— lots of league-themed bird plushies (particularly the champs he enjoys playing the most!) that are super cute n super round and super squishable!

RAFAYEL!!!!!! rafayel is a cozy lifestyle streamer who typically streams in the "just chatting" category. he streams himself doing his art— usually digital, because it's easier to set up, but it's not uncommon to click his stream and see him painting on a canvas. a lot of the times, he's doing commissions from his chat, but he often does charity streams where his viewers can sub or gift subs to request a little doodle of something, and he'll match their contribution and donate it to different funds. he most often donates to a local wildlife preservation nonprofit.

a lot of his viewers use him as asmr or as a body double! he tends to talk or hum to himself while he paints so a not-insignificant portion of his viewers act like he's doing boyfriend asmr roleplay, which he shamelessly leans into. as he grew in popularity (and more people started getting playful and flirty in his chat) he's done a few more talking-heavy streams that are obvious fanservice. there's a (reuploaded) video out there of rafayel attempting to actually do boyfriend asmr, but he deleted it from his channel because he felt so embarrassed :') it becomes something of an inside joke with his fans at that point. he's also teased doing an onlyfans (he is too shy to actually go through with it).

no matter what he's streaming, though, he always keeps a little layover window open to a live feed of his aquarium, so that people can watch his fish swim around if they're bored of him (his words, lol). he's pretty content with his art stream and his fish, but a few big animation studios and game studios have approached him about doing concept art for their projects... which... he is also heavily considering.

🌧️: What's your favorite/ideal way to spend a rainy day together?

With Mav, if he's home, it's normally just a cuddle day. We get cozy and cuddle with each other, and read a book together or something of the sort. If he's not home, and he's out partaking in whatever he could possibly be up to on a rainy day, I like to bake him little treats, clean up around the house, and do other little miscellaneous chores, that way he doesn't have to do them when he gets home.

When it comes to Ice, we just have a nice day at home together, doing whatever comes to mind. Whether that's cuddling, playing little games, or whatever else we can think of. We always have a nice time, and I love spending rainy days with him.

With Rooster, we like to just sit back and watch television. Basic, I know, but we'll throw on some old movie and cuddle together, and it usually ends up with me taking a nap in his arms.

With Hangman, we have a day planned out ahead of time, just for when it rains. Last time, it started off with sleeping in and sleepy cuddles, and then we went and baked an apple pie. We then did some painting, which ended up in both of us getting a little more messy than first anticipated, and then we went and danced outside together in the rain. It was honestly so romantic, 10/10.

🕯: Who’s more likely to stay up later at night while the other's fast asleep?

This is a difficult question to answer because sometimes I get possessed by an old man and go to bed at 7:30 pm, but other times I stay up until 4 am. So it really depends on when I go to bed. Sometimes I'll be the first to fall asleep, other times I simply won't go to sleep.

🥧: What are you and your F/O's favorite Fall sweet treats? (Bonus: if homemade, do you make them together?)

My favorite fall sweet treat is pumpkin cake, and its so good!! I make it all the time during fall!! I generally make it by myself, but occasionally one of them will come help me with it (usually Hangman)!!

It's hard to say any of their favorites, but I think I have a list. I believe Mav's favorite is my pumpkin pie, while Hangman and Ice both enjoy my caramel apple cake. Rooster likes my cinnamon rolls, even though those aren't really fall-exclusive (shhh).

Normally I make them by myself while they're out doing their shenanigans, but sometimes, whenever they're home with me, we'll bake together.

🔥: Who gets colder easier? And who warms them up?

Normally I'm like a mini heater, and Mav, Ice, and Rooster all love it when they cuddle up to me on a cold day. Snuggling up to me under the covers is like snuggling up to a heater.

However, when it comes to Hangman, this man is somehow warmer than me all the time, so whenever I get cold (which is more often than you'd expect since I just described myself as a mini heater) I cuddle with him, and he warms me up.

Summary: Riri thinks about her relationship with Shuri so far.

Who knew one decision would be the cause of something so great? Riri couldn’t help but think about it as she cuddled with her girlfriend living safely in the cozy townhouse that was owned by Shuri. Riri still couldn’t believe that her girlfriend was the Black Panther, the most lethal mafia in Boston. To Riri, Shuri didn’t look like she could harm a fly, she was always patient and sweet. Who knew my life would turn out to be a Wattpad fanfiction? Riri thought as she sighed. She really need to go to bed, she had an early class tomorrow (today), and even though Riri was a genius that didn’t mean she would not get pointed out for being absent from the class. 

There could be an alternate universe where I said no, Riri thought as she continued watching Shuri sleeping. Would we eventually meet each other like it was an unavoidable event or would I go about my days without even knowing her? Would she still be the head of the mafia that she’s in? Or maybe Shuri and I could’ve met at the coffee shop I work at? Riri felt her head starting to hurt with this little timeline game she was playing with herself. 

“What is going on in your little head?” Riri’s eyes snapped open again staring at Shuri, who had a smirk painted on her face. 

Riri wanted to get closer to her, “Oh nothing thinking about different timelines.”

“You’re such a dork,” Shuri snorted using one of her arms to curl around Riri’s waist. Riri gave a groan not wanting to tell her girlfriend there was a difference between dork and nerd. She would explain this difference later in daylight hours. 

“Well that makes you the dork too,” Riri remarked laying her head on Shuri’s collarbone. She smelt the woody and vanilla scent that was a part of Shuri. It was like Riri's own personal heaven. 

Shuri gave huffed at Riri’s response, “You need to go to sleep, Riri. You won’t be cracking jokes when it’s seven in the morning.”

“I’m never been a morning person,” Riri traced patterns on Shuri’s skin, “But now I’m starting to wake up even earlier just to your face and- well waking up in the mornings isn’t that bad.”

Shuri’s chest tighten by Riri's confession, sometimes Shuri thought this small piece of comfort she had with Riri was just a dream that she made up. To stop herself from becoming crazy, at times Shuri had to pinch herself to know she wasn’t dreaming. That Riri loved her and loved being around her. 

“You’re sleep-deprived,” Shuri said tightening her hold on Riri, “Sleep now.”

Shuri closed her eyes to hear Riri’s small laughter in the night.

Finished Daughter of Witches

and also St. Peter's Fair, which I had started AGES ago and sort of lost track of, but I'm doing the January Challenge on TheStoryGraph and couldn't decide what to read next but needed to get my pages in, so I went digging for random shit and I have read it before and watched all the Cadfael mysteries so it's not like it was hard to get into to finish it so I could save my streak.😅

Read A House with Good Bones (on purpose from start to finish in one day!) because T. Kingfisher/Ursula Vernon is absofuckinglutely one of my favorites. (There's a thought here about my occasional forays into the horror genre, and how some horror is almost kind of cozy because it's about protecting what we love from what we fear, and that is very much a Kingfisher kind of thing, but that might need a new post and a more functional brain to figure out where I'm going with that.)

Listened to a little bit more of IT while doing housework; I'm not great at audio books except when I'm driving, but sometimes I can manage a little (and I didn't want to distract myself from dishes by picking up a new book instead). Stephen Weber is an excellent narrator btw, for anyone who's curious.

WATCHING

The husband was sick last week, and I was only sort of doing shit either, so he kind of just put the TV on and let it go and I definitely will not manage a nice list with links like I did with books. There was some M*A*S*H, (oh, I did finally watch the special that recently came out on Hulu), and RoboCop (largely because Thing 1 gave the husband the new game for Christmas) and several different Predator movies of various quality, and a bunch of other stuff I am not thinking of at the moment. I know I picked a couple and watched them myself but with everything else I can't remember what?

Also some Mythbusters when Thing 2 picked something to watch for awhile, which is pretty much always entertaining even when we're like: your sample size is nonexistent and just because you can't do it doesn't mean someone who knows what they're doing couldn't have done it so are you SURE you should have busted that? 😅

PLAYING

I got Garden Story for Christmas and got through the quest-lines and realized I was quite far away from all the upgrades, so I've been periodically poking at it and trying to get my villages/tools better before trying the Final Boss. I have had a good time with Concord though, it's fun, I'm just not sure the leveling functions, such as they are, are paced/balanced quite right? 😅 (Or perhaps I'm just Bad At Fighting In Cozy Games? This does seem to be a bit of a trend tbqh, probably why I liked Wylde Flowers' lack of combat so much.) I also have found VERY FEW of the memories/weird achievements so that's a thing I'm probably going to have to look up hints for soon-ish...

(I did finish Potion Permit last year, which is great, I recommend it whole-heartedly: the potion building mechanic is usually pretty solid, it has good characters, a nice aesthetic, I did actually mostly have fun rolling around and fighting things/gathering stuff, but I did reach the end of the main quest and then go... huh, is that it? just because it, yk, kept going after the finale but there didn't seem to be anything there beyond like, a couple personal quests that needed materials I couldn't unlock until the end.)

MORE ENTERTAININGLY I THINK, we did also play some board games

Paint The Roses is QUITE HARD with only two people even if you stick to the medium level whims; or maybe I'm just not that smart?!? We did in fact survive without getting our heads' chopped off by the Queen of Hearts, but we legit guessed the last two puzzles so. Dumb Luck™️ is not nearly as reliable as actually figuring out how to plot your plants better.

We did Escape the Dark Sector (with more people this time, tbf) on our first try though! That was pretty delightful. It is atmospheric and potentially almost deadly without feeling too awful at any point! Also I got to punch a tentacle monster!

Mice & Mystics can go dramatically bad if your dice aren't on your side and you do like, one stupid thing to compound that, and then if you're invested enough to start over you can suddenly realize you've been moving tiny plastic mice and bugs around the table for like four hours and still only got through the first chapter... but not regret it at all because you like your mice and are very proud of them for finally making it!

Can you tell we like co-op games? 🤣🤣🤣

(I did also do some rearranging so the game room was comfier, so like, win/win I adulted and played!)

THERE WAS NO WRITING OR CROSS-STITCHING OR PAINTING OR ANYTHING ELSE THIS WEEK, so uh. Clearly my balance of activities is bonkers and I should maybe get off the couch/game chair(s) a bit more often.
