thought of the day: the way that everyone forgets noah and yet will be forever influenced by his presence in their lives is kinda appropriate for TRC as a coming of age story. do any of us truly, consciously know each person, event, or place that shaped us into the people we are today? though our consciousness forgets, their memory is inseparable from the way we go about life.

first time fully making and finishing a piece in procreate!! Trying to get the hang of it bc I don't want to pay the subscription service for csp </3 (srsly celsys i bought 2 licenses from y'all and you still wanna charge me a monthly fee? Ghastly 💀) featuring detective ronan killdeer, one of the 2 primary protagonists (deuteragonist?) of an indie horror project @first-blight and i are working on :] the background for this one was fun, it's been a long time since i messed with perspective lol

I also threw together a speedpaint from procreate's timelapse bc why not ??

Part one (first half) of my Lisa Frankenstein au is up! Features Blue as Lisa, Noah as The Creature, Orla as Taffy, Henry as Michael. Maura and Gansey have passed away before the story and Blue is grieving them.

“There was one grave which wasn’t like the others. There was a name “Noah” inscribed on it, but no last name, no date, nothing else at all. Built on top of the headstone was the statue of a young man. Hia face was thin, sparse, with wide set eyes. Something about the statue called to Blue. Perhaps it was the unmarkedness of the grave, perhaps it was the idea that this boy could have lived a hundred lives Blue would know nothing about. Maybe it was simply that he was here when the boy she had loved was not. Blue tended to his grave whenever possible, leaving him lilies or one time, a pair of her mother’s earrings. 

“They’re Turkish eyes,” said Blue. “They’re supposed to protect you. But I feel kind of sick whenever I wear them. And since your grave doesn’t have protections on it, I thought you should have them. And Maura – I called my Mom by her first name, she always wanted me to feel like she was a peer – she’d want you to have them, I think. Because you're alone and she never thought anyone should be alone. And because you help me.” She’d smiled, and turned away from the grave, ready to head back home before it was too dark out. 

Now, Blue crouched in front of the statue. Not to pray, she hadn’t been raised to be religious. Just to wish. “I wish I was with you.” She let the tears fall finally, now that no one could see her, now that they would only mix with the rain.”

anyway i feel like ronan will be my favorite character in book 2 but we'll see

(currently, the ones with pov were, especially adam which surprised me actually !)

i hope we'll see more of blue because i do feel like she wasn't that involved in the storyline but same goes for ronan and noah tbh

most of the book's emotional side (i hope it makes sense) was about gansey and adam but it's not that much of a problem since there's like a whole series to make the others as important

Aaaahh thank you I'm glad you enjoy my Baatar and Kuvira stuff!! I know they're quite niche so it makes me happy to hear people like my work with them ;;

But gah yeah it has been a while since my Corvus and Proxima days, I actually miss those two a lot ;; I had a TON of content for them, a lot of it still in my folders tbh I just definitely got distracted by LoK :'D also my fire for Marvel has pretty much gone out, I haven't really been vibing with Phase 4 so my brain has just kinda moved on~ I still really love my old Marvel favs, like Ronan and Crystal as they were so important to me for so long, and of course Corvus and Proxima too, so even though I'm really not in the Marvel space anymore, I'd really love to revisit those characters sometime, especially since my art for humans/humanoid characters has improved a lot since then!

While writing this I was looking through my Corvus/Proxima folders on my computer and phone and gosh yeah there's a lot of content I never got around to finishing/posting- both art and fics ;; I had a lot of extensive stuff about my version of Proxima's species, my redesigns of everyone, as well as everyone's time before The Order came about, and especially the development of Corv and Prox's relationship. Hopefully one day I can get back to it all!

I did find this old wip in my folder as well, I still like where it's going so I'll definitely have to bring this back sometime lol I always loved the idea of Corvus' scrawny lizard ass just getting fucking Hoisted by his giant wife

I'm redrawing something I never posted since I really didn't like how it turned out.... Elliot and Ramona having an argument in the Ronans' headspace. It's not for a *specific* scene, but it's somewhere in the middle of the story

Redfall oc time :33

These are Ronan (he/her) and Parker (She/They).

Both grew up on Redfall, and they “can’t stand each other”. Their dislike of the other started as a petty rivalry on their soccer team and only grew from there. It’s only a little before things start going wrong that the two start to tolerate each other.

When vampires take over, Ronan gets turned into a vampire but, like Jason, he is not evil (but he is totally enjoying the cool perks of being able to float and teleport). Parker, on the other hand, gets sacrificed to the Hollow Man’s cult by her ex-bestie. In a weird turn of events, it goes wrong and the friend dies instead (I’m thinking maybe it got interrupted or.. something? Idk yet), making Parker the one “accepted” into the cult. They very loosely play along.

I haven’t figured out exactly how Ronan and Parker team up, but I am intrigued by the bloodkin cultists (wish we knew more about what that’s about). But anyway they do team up somehow, and start really playing up the whole “we’re evil we loooove vampires and uh… the hollow man. Oooooooo”, while actually trying to help the survivors and people at the fire station. I’m thinking they set up dead drops full of medicine and other necessary things for them to find.

That’s really all I have for now, but these two are constantly in my mind and I’m trying to work out their whole deal more and more.

Actually Kitkat enjoys pynch. Adam absolutely would NOT look back and would be pissed as hell if someone did. Pynch would not Orpheus and Eurydice and they are not soulmates and they would just murder death so it's fine. No correlation

this is true. anon IS right that i hate star-crossed "we find our way to each other in every life because we're fated soulmates uwu uwu uwu uwu uwu" stories though. which pynch WASN'T until stief decided to murder 80% of what's compelling about them in greywaren. now they're only good if they have one or more other partners that they chose there & if they're continuing to be toxic dysfunctional bitches who are bad for each other. the relationship in greywaren makes my skin fucking crawl i hate hate hate it and because of that it was almost scraping the bottom of the barrel when i did that trc ship sorting list. adam/greenmantle and matthew/bryde both ranked higher than monogamous pynch somehow. but thankfully hennessy is there pissing them both off and i still love rodamnessy more than life and all three of them are canon married and there will never be more canon to tell me that's not true so not all is lost.

the replica Gansey made of their memories could have been a good bittersweet story choice to me if it was treated like LMD Coulson on AoS, a little comeback wrong, him needing to work through hard identity issues about who he is now and everyone else working through what their relationship to him is and how it’s changed and each having a different stance. Or just a plain came back wrong narrative could’ve worked too. Lots of interesting potential but the execution…

Listen, for people wanting to call out colonialism, there are way too many of you mocking Irish, Welsh, and Scottish names.

No, they’re not alphabet soup, no they do not look like “you’ve thrown letters at a wall and used what stuck,” they are living, breathing languages which we did CPR on after the British Empire shot them.

Like, people DIED to keep them alive.

Every time I see some (English/American) interviewer make an entire segment forcing Saoirse Ronan to list off Irish names, I die a little inside. It’s particularly galling to see the same people ooh-ing over how “mystical” they sound, or claiming ancient heritage to us.

Realise there’s a world beyond your myopic lens and just accept sometimes you’ve got new stuff to learn. Fuck knows I do.
