Listen you know if Gale and Astarion were faced with a de-aged character they would not be very sensitive about it. How do we fix this temporary situation, what caused it?? Oh, yes. Oops, the temporary problem has feelings.

One of my earlier bloodweave drawings. I wanted to draw them wearing vintage swimwear but I kinda lost the plot. I WILL draw Gale wearing a stripey one piece swimsuit at some point though, the world needs it.

I like when they're built like a gummy bear and a gummy worm. Chewing on them.

I do love the duke Wyll trophy wife Astarion dynamic a lot but every time I play in that space I always wind up with this

I know I've said this before but I cannot make myself vibe with "cured" Astarion stuff. It falls a little flat for me—like there's a spark missing. There's like a bit of silly mischief that I read from being a "creature of the night," like foxes and cats and coyotes, something dark but with a shameless whimsy that I very heavily associate with him. He's a vampire elf. What a fun vibe!! You'd think it would be entirely contradictory, but it isn't! BeCAUSE of his personality.

That's the whole point of him is to subvert a lot of the moody broody vampire tropes! We watch him BREAK FREE of those implications. And if I had to guess, he was probably a ghoulish little freak (affectionate) when he was alive too. I don't think Astarion HAS vampirism, I think he IS a vampire. I think a guy named after a starry sky can absolutely thrive at night. He's having FUN he said so himself.

Like all his dialogue about blood is even delivered like a little gremlin. He is a raccoon sniffing around for snacks. He lets you dump nasty old blood on him flash dance style and he doesn't even startle he's like "it would be better if it was fresh".

I don't know maybe I'm thinking too deep into it. But Astarion being a nasty little creechur is important to me.
