this time its about diavolo/barbatos and solomon/barbatos and how both ships are incest

most people in the om fandom seem to be able to wrap their heads around the fact that barbatos is very very much a father figure to diavolo. barbatos raised diavolo from childhood and helped groom him in preparation to inherit the throne. so, even though they are not related by blood, its very clear and obvious to most of the fandom that shipping barbatos/diavolo is a dadson ship. similar to shipping the brothers together, in that "they arent related by blood but they call each other family so its PRACTICALLY definitely incest" kind of way

so i find it super funny that the same exact people seem to absolutely LOVE all the solomon/barbatos stuff thats been picking up traction lately. dont get me wrong, i dont even fw solomon (one of my personal lowest tier characters) but the solobarb art ive seen is so fucking good like wow i love om artists so much yall are out here making masterpieces that actually make me care about characters i dont even like, the skill and talent yall are exhibiting is INSANE

but ig everyone also just completely forgot that barbatos is a father figure to solomon too, huh? it was barbatos that took him in as a child. it was barbatos who first brought him to the fountain of knowledge. it was barbatos who raised him and helped him learn how to actually control his magic and grow into a sorcerer. barbatos was furious that solomon only placed him at #8 on his list of demons, not only because it was insulting on a personal level but because it felt like being brushed aside by the human he literally raised

barbatos is a father figure to both diavolo and solomon in the same ways, and yet i have not seen anyone holding one dadson ship to the same standard as the other, and i find that hilarious. the people who start crying and shitting themselves over diabarb (and i know this because im literally seeing it happen) are reblogging and praising solobarb posts without a hint of irony

i think both diabarb and solobarb shippers should keep doing what theyre doing. i love to see it, i love to read it, i love yall for everything you do. the artists and writers all deserve so much love

Asmo definitely power-bottoms this guy. That is where the hickey came from.

i see a lot of ppl theorizing Barbatos was mad at Solomon for another reason and just lied to mc because he doesn't trust them and tbh considering how long it took for him to open up to mc in the og game it's a very believable theory but also Barbatos getting mad at Solomon because he wasn't the first demon Solomon thought to make a pact with is very silly to me i love that part so much

also in the part of the story where mc says they'd like to do both of their ideas and Solomon just says they're greedy 😭😭😭 i hate that man so mMUCH /pos

Anyway, yes, Barb's shoulders which we so rarely get to see~ I am sayin' he looks like a freakin' bride!!

Solomon is always adorable but that funny lil rawr face is incredibly cute lol!!

I suppose you could say Nightbringer allows for them to have an enemies to lovers sort of story... and you could also rewrite the list thing to be a story about Barb feeling jealous in a boyfriend sort of way...

But dearest anon, I'm afraid I am one of those people who has theorized that Barb is lying to MC about his real reason for being mad at Solomon. I think the reason would have been funny if they hadn't made such a huge deal out of it. But Barbatos rarely displays that kind of emotion and to me it just didn't make sense for it to be something so minuscule, even if it is funny. It seems a little more plausible if you look at it through a shipping lens, though. Like if Barbatos really loves Solomon only to find that he only made it eighth on the list? That feels a little more likely to me. But even then, I feel like Barb's just not that dramatic about stuff lol. I could get into this further, but I digress!

Of course, I know a lot of people enjoyed that particular piece of the story and I'm not at all going to say that they shouldn't, so it's all good lol!

We are told all about this in Nightbringer, it's not obscure knowledge or anything. They literally tell us that Barbatos raised Solomon (like how he raised young Diavolo) so yeah, I'm not shitting on anyone who wants to ship SoloBarb. But at the same time I'm also not surprised that people find the ship weird or gross, since they have a canon father-son (or adopted father-son) relationship. If you ship it then cool, but don't try to do all these mental gymnastics to justify how it isn't actually a dadson ship. Because it is.

Yes YES I'm actually multi shippers so I like MANY. Since I enjoy what I think almost any ship with Solomon involved, this guy chemistry is just so fun with everyone.

Like as you might saw on my blog that I've post solotan, solevi and something with hints of solodeus. And Im working on mephisol as well rn (that gotta be the ship im enjoy the most as of late).

Oh and I stumbled on soluci and diasol? soldia?, Idk, a while back and wow if it isn't so delicious

But tbh I have mix feeling about solomeon/simsolo and solobarb(idk ship name srry) because to me Simeon and Barb always play the role of brother/parent to Solomon in other ship. (That's actually the reason I ship simebarb, they would take care of Luke Solomon and Diavolo together.)

But I can and have been enjoy it too! I love seeing solomeon being Luke's dads!
