I just know that, after the battle with Corypheus and Solas says his little "What we had was real" and fucks off, that Lavellan spends HOURS shouting for him and searching through the rubble until her throat is raw and her voice hoarse and her tearstained cheeks are ruddy with dirt and ash and she finally sinks to her knees under an archway and releases one last anguished cry because, yeah, it was awkward and devastating having him so close but emotionally distant but there was always hope and now he's truly gone and so is the relationship and any chance at repairing it and his absence and the loneliness is clawing its way through her, leaving behind a trailing, yawning void that can never be filled except for his touch, his voice, his smile, his eyes, his smell and it's just not there and she tries to reach for him in the Fade but there's just a stone wall thicker than those of Skyhold in the way and she pounds her fist against it until they bleed, begging him to let her in and she's met with silence and it's agony living is agony

Solas’ eyes were not ALWAYS purple! They aren’t in Inquisition and are in The Veilguard. I really had to go back and check that they were a different color before!
