Which website do you use for calculations?

I mix astro.com website with Solar Fire & AstroGold apps, I occasionally go to astro-seek.com but I don't consider it to be as valid as astro.com.

Me on Saturday: looking up info for timing in the closest city “I know I won’t be able to see the total eclipse from my part of the country, but I could at least see a partial one!”

Me on Sunday: it’s raining outside and it looks like the kind of rain that lasts more than 24 hours “oh no.”

Me on Monday: I look outside around noon, it’s cloudy out and when I opened my weather app it said it would start raining soon *sigh* “the clouds have once again prevented me from witnessing a cool sky event” we really need this rain though. It would have been nice if it came a few days sooner! There would be less fire and the sky could be clearer for the eclipse

So today I’m hearing people online talking about how cool the eclipse was and just being like: “I’m gonna be honest. I accidentally slept through the last partial (solar) eclipse and I couldn’t even see this partial solar eclipse if I was trying”

I know I’ve seen lunar eclipses though, my insomnia was at least useful there

Those of you following the Advanced Composite Solar Sail System may have heard that its booms and sail are now deployed. It is receiving light pressure from the Sun to propel it through the Solar System. Like a test pilot in a new aircraft, NASA are now testing out just how it handles. Before deployment, the spacecraft was slowly tumbling and now the controllers will see if they can get it under control and under sail power. My Personal Solar Return Observations Pt III

reminder to check your degrees in your sr chart as they play a big factor in how certain sr placements would play out!

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ Venus 5H 17° SR - when i had this in my sr chart for 2023-2024 i saw myself experimenting more with different creative styles/looks. i would try to find inspiration from different creatives on instagram. while i was doing this, i started talking to a well known designer in that creative scene who had messaged me because he liked my style. it was a secret relationship because he cheated on someone to be with me which i thought they were completely done but he kept going back to her then back to me. he was obsessed with me and it was a really weird relationship, he would only come to me when his lustful desires were acting up and then would go when he was satisfied 💀. i was tired of this so i started talking to someone else and he found and his little ego got so hurt and he blocked me thank fucking god 😭😭!! I was also approached by another creative because he wanted to use my face as inspiration for his clothing brand hehe ( the 17° rules leo & fame )

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ Aries Rising 2° SR - when i had this i felt like i was really impulsive i did lots of things without thinking twice. i had my chart ruler in the 5h that year so it might be different if you end up having your asc ruler somewhere else in your sr chart, but for me i was impulsive when it came to switching different styles. i also started drinking and partying for the first time when i had a aries rising in my sr when it was placed in my 5h. aside from this, i was very determined on finishing goals i set my mind to and i was very consistent in trying to build a good foundation for myself. ( the 2° rules taurus & early stages )

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ Mercury 3H 28° SR - I started talking to my siblings more and my relationship grew closer with them. I also started becoming more vunerable with my siblings. My relationship with my siblings were more nurturing compared to the past. ( the 28° rules cancer & heightened sensitivity/vulnerability )

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ Mars 5H 21° SR - I went out a lot more when i had this in my sr chart with my sisters friends who would randomly go out just for the fun of it 😭, like it was last minute most of the times but it was so fun tho! i got to do lots of things on the trips we went to! I was also more open to expressing my creativity like making clothes and putting it out there and such. ( the 21° rules saggitarius & travel/freedom )

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ Jupiter 1H 8° SR - I was more optimistic about life when I had this placement in my sr chart. I also felt like I was really lucky when it came to travelling more. places ive wanted to go to forever i ended up going to! things i wanted to experience i experienced! it was a good year for experiencing new things. ( the 8° rules scorpio & transformations )

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ Uranus 2H 21° SR - yeah i dont know where my money went that year 💀 money would come fast and then it would go even faster 😭 i saw my money as a source of freedom and thought of money so recklessly like, “oh these shoes are $300 but i just got fired? dont worry the money will come back *BOUGHT🧾*” so i didnt care much about saving or anything 😭 it came back though!! but then it went bye bye the next day😍 also for some weird reason whenever i took money out from daily pay which is a app where you can take money out early from your check when you work, whenever i took it out it ended up saying i had to pay back the amount i took out? like uhhh im pretty sure this was my money i took out 😂🤔… so now im -$200 but they gotta catch me in person cuz im not paying that 😹 ( the 21° degree rules saggitarius and freedom )

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ Pluto 11H 29° SR - i ended two 5+ year friendship that year, it was hard but it was a trio and i found out that the both of them would ditch me to go hangout and do substances and i feel like that didnt align with my path because you are who you hangout with!! i also saw my goals/path changing that year, I completely re-evaluated what i wanted to do 🙏. ( the 29° is a anaretic degree that rules major transformations/completion/endings )

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ Chiron 1H 19° SR - I was VERY critical on how others percieved me and my self image, i had multiple identity crises. I was super insecure the year I had this in my sr chart i cant even lie, despite so many people telling me how beautiful I was I just couldnt see it. 2 months before my birthday in 2024 i ended up understanding who i was and finding out what I LIKE and not what other people expected of me. im not facing multiple identity crises anymore which i thank my nn in my 1h from that year 🙏. ( 19° rules libra & can make a person more erratic and critical )

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ 1H SR in 5H SR - I was more open to showcasing my creative talents, designing clothes, starting lots of creative projects. I was also having sooo much fun that year i miss it so much but lemme stop reminiscing 💔 I was also more flirty and playful that year leading me to have a few romantic encounters this year. Lots of creativity, fun, and sexual encounters happened that year.

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ 2H SR in 5H SR - I spent most of my money on clothes and on creative projects just things that made me happy!!!! I was also recieving money from a lot of guys who wanted sexual things from me but they got #finessed and i didnt care because who do you think i am???????

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ 3H SR in 3H SR - when i had this i started getting into astrology more, i was also reading a lot more aswell. I was really curious and i needed lots of mental stimulation from something that was neverending and astrology just so happened to be it 😹. I was also making tons of short trips that year.

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ 4H SR in 7H SR - my family life was lowkey stopping me from getting into any relationships, i came to the realization i wouldnt be able to get into any relationships while living with my parents because of how controlling they can be. Also my sister got into a new relationship that sr year.

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ 5H SR in 7H SR - I started talking to a creative designer the year I had my 5h in my 7h. I was also getting involved with creative partnerships aswell, promoting eye contacts/lashes/having my face used for someones brand. I also attended more parties and was going out more so i found most of my relationship encounters were through that.

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ 6H SR in 4H SR - i changed my diet when i had this in my sr. I also didnt know how to balance my work life and home life so it clashed terribly and i got fired😭. I was also going out more with my sister so my routines have changed from never going out at all to going out every week.

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ 7H SR in 5H SR - I met lots of new friends and different social circles through fun plans like partying, girls trips etc.. I also had lots of fun romantic encounters when i had this in my sr whether i met them when i was drunk or at parties it was lots of fun lol. There was so much childlike joy when it came to my relationships that sr year.

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ 8H SR in 5H SR - i lost my virginity the year i had this in my sr😶 but besides that my relationships in that sr year really shaped my understanding of love and myself. i was also recieving money from relationships i felt like a sugar baby🙈

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ 9H SR in 1H SR - BABY I WAS OUTSIDEEE😭😩 okay besides that, that sr year when i had this i experienced a lot of new things that helped me discover who i was on the inside 😊. I was focused on self growth especially that year!

⋆.ೃ࿔*:･ 10H SR in 12H SR - I thought a lot about what I wanted to do career wise and how it would align with my goals and my purpose . I had this in my sr when I got fired 😭 and i realized I would prefer being my own boss when it came to my work life

I dont share my poetry on here very often, partially because it tends to end up coming from a very personal part of me, but since this was actually a lot of fun maybe i'll start posting my poems more often here :]] i think what i found most interesting about this exercise was that as i scrolled my notes app and cherry-picked quotes for each character, it felt like the ones i chose naturally became part of a larger conversation-- as if the characters were speaking to me through my own words about their lowest points, about their ultimate views on the games filtered through the lens of a red life.

It felt enlightening; i dont often feel like im speaking to characters or being informed about their plots/preferences, etc. the way many other writers discuss in workshops or casually online, but by the end of this exercise i felt like i just... understood them, better than i had before. There's something inexplicable about reading your own words and consciously finding ways to apply them in a way that encapsulates them down to a character's core that just... truly highlights the specific qualities that resonate most with you. And i think stumbling upon that organically was a very vivid and incredible experience for me

Admittedly, i did struggle on Scott, Ren, and Etho a lot-- im not as familiar with them as characters, and for a while i couldn't quite pinpoint what exact themes they tend to carry with them throughout all their life seasons. But when i started to really look at everyone's quotes as a whole, i realized they felt like a story, like the response to a question-- as if i was being TOLD what they felt and how, and that that was how i needed to frame the rest of my selections. So Scott's ended up being about control, and the desperate hanging onto of it; Ren's is about the acceptance and bitterness of what he cannot change; Etho's is a quiet resignation rounded out with softer disbelief. The more i looked at these choices, the more they felt correct to me-- and while i still think i have a ways to go before i fully understand these characters, i feel like this has helped me a lot with that ultimate goal :]

Of all these poetry snippets, though, i think Scar, Skizz, and Joel's are my absolute favorites. Skizz's poem is actually the whole poem in its entirety (as is Cleo's, funnily enough)-- it's a short, very simple poem that is incredibly close to my heart for many reasons, but the main one being because it was written at one of my lowest points a few years back. Its about clawing for hope when there isnt any, and finding even the smallest of beautiful things to hold onto, and begging yourself to keep holding onto that at any cost. The pure, clean beauty of watching light refract through a vase of flowers, and knowing that sometimes, that's all there is to live for-- I felt like that really spoke to Skizz's life series character as a whole: finding the beauty in every tiny thing, no matter how small, and scrabbling for more time to appreciate it.

Scar's snippet comes from a much longer poem of mine about the difficulty of reconciling the idea of a future when you havent had to think of one before (incidentally, Etho's snippet comes from this poem as well). I think out of everyone, this quote encapsulates him the best; i like how it subtly references that inner well of vivacity he draws from that many other characters struggle to find, and how that in turn ties in with the lore that he never died a final death during Secret Life. And i love how it simultaneously manages to encompass the way he utilizes the social game in each season as well-- Scar's an incredibly intelligent social player, and i think the imagery of a gambler breathing their luck over the dice as they cast it, and as he casts himself at others for alliances and enemies, truly does fit him.

As for Joel, the full poem his quote comes from is one im particularly proud of, especially for its final lines. I think, quite honestly, i can let this poem stand for itself in its entirety:

They say transformation is letting the light in, But in my mind it's a violence. A coarseness, a fracturing, the bloody vowels between a scream And a howl. How do you transform without killing yourself? When I am a lion, my hands and feet Grow claws; my teeth sharpen. No longer do I spark— I ignite. Tamed by nothing, no one, I lose myself to the shattered chains; Yes, there is a loss. To transform is to leave behind a body And eat its still-breathing corpse.

I find myself referencing this poem a lot even in my daily life-- as longterm readers of mine already know, one of my favorite themes is that of replacing yourself and permanent transformation. This poem really is just about how changing, in any shape or form, alters you forever; how you can look back on yourself from even just a few months ago and feel like a completely different person despite remaining the same. Connecting it with Joel's character, and how he acts during his red lives in each season, was a natural and intuitive progression once i really sat and thought about it.

Alright thats enough yapping from me 😂😂😂 im not used to writing meta nor delving into my poetry on here, so this was a bit of an experimental post for me. I don't know if you take requests,but if you do,would you be interested in making a sort of "fixed" Eclipse design,maybe you could even tie it to the Finders Keepers au.It's just a suggestion tho,consider it maybe (or don't),also what app/s do you use to draw?

I do take requests, but im pretty slow at doing them + sometimes i either dont have time or just. fucking forget like a goldfish

As for eclipse in my AU, im still trying to land on a design, but I want him to be a mix between the fanon and the canon designs ( I like the idea of 4 arms), so for now he just looks like a wet sad cat

Northern Nevada Gothic for 2024

Something is killing the coyotes. The raccoons have begun to Rise.

Cannabis is legal now. The elders speak of terpenes and cannabinoids. Kenny Furlong's smile stretches ever wider. Where are his wife and daughter?

There was a Democratic rally. You know a lot of people who went, but it was strangely empty.

You drive through Lyon County on a gig app job. The wild horses are strangely absent, save one. It looks emaciated. You pull up to the delivery building and turn to acknowledge the horse, and it has disappeared. The cop at the Donald J. Trump Justice Complex doesn't tip you, but he also does not arrest you.

The protests have increased in frequency, but decreased in mass. You still do not know what anyone is protesting, but you no longer honk in support. Too many have accidentally pledged to gods thought long dead.

You have received five mail-in ballots in the mail. They are all under your name, and they all contain different ballot measures and candidates. You do not know which one is the correct one to send in - they all have the same postmark.

The Awful Awful is now $15. You take another gig app order. You Hunger.

You encounter a person considering moving to your town. You are friendly, and recommend local attractions based on their interests. You hope they become a neighbor and not the sustenance of The Old Ones.

While driving 75 miles per hour, you witness a wildfire begin to burn, boiling and roiling as if alive. It devours several houses and some livestock, always hungry for more. It is unseasonally dry, even for the desert, and you are parched, thirsting for water no matter how much you consume. As traffic slows and then backs up, you read the license plate and bumper stickers of the person in front of you. It decries climate change. It is a California license plate, permanently attached to that car forever. It reads MAGAMOM.

The affluent community of Galena has posted illegibly-scrawled signs. They are thank you notes to the first responders of the fire. The alphabet is not one known to man, and yet you are able to read it clearly.

There is a luxury apartment for rent. It is $1,500 a month. It is $5,000 a month. It is $2,000 a month. It is $1780 per month with a $300 per month gated community fee. It is a vast studio apartment that echoes when you tour it.

You are in a car and see a road with the name of Diogenes. You exclaim, "Behold! A street!" Your Zoomer daughter laughs. Your partner does not. You begin to panic about shoelaces, but the thought slips your mind entirely as you slide back on to McCarran Boulevard.

There was a Trump rally. You don't know a single person who attended, but it was allegedly packed.

You have done the math. If you live in Stead, and a friend lives in Carson City, and you both work at the Reno post office, you have the same commute. When did Reno move closer to Carson City? Continents drift, yes, but not like this.

You drive to Elko. It has become large. You drive back. If you wanted to see people, you would stay at home.

Pahrump is a real city that exists in Nevada. You never laugh when people say the name. It is a point of pride - your family have never cracked in the face of Pahrump, and you will not be the weak link.

The 5G tower is being built inside your bathroom. It's terribly inconvenient for showering, but the internet speeds have never been better.

You pass a solar farm and see whispers of shadows beneath them. You are grateful that they find solar power so delicious.

The NRA hosts an open house at the local gun range. The range safety offer lacks any visible eyes or ears, but he effortlessly controls the range with the practiced ease of a person who has spent many a year at a military drill post.

There is a Trader Joe's. The parking lot is always, without fail, too small and far too hot. There are so many handicapped signs. Everything becomes a blur, but you come to holding a pair of organic mangoes in your hand while an employee discusses myrcine content.

Gig workers avoid specific areas of town. It would not do to be called to a Chick-fil-A. They may not be traditionally homophobic, but the chicken claps for a reason. The giant C mocks you.

A tourist asks you about the landmark letters on hills and you realize that you have never questioned their presence.

There is an Amazon warehouse there is a Chewie warehouse there is a DHL warehouse there is a Panasonic factory there is a Tesla factory there is an industrial park there is a new railway and a new section of highway. The Amazon warehouse is closing and reopening. It is ever and yet never changing.

Your favorite band has made the mistake of booking a gig at the Grand Sierra Resort. You laugh. If the ghosts don't kill them, the fans will.

Casinos have started restricting prime rib to Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday through Thursday you wander town like a wraith, craving animal fats and au jus.

The Black Widows, Australian Redbacks, and Brown Widows have begun mating. You fear the day they achieve perfection and ride to defeat their long-standing nemesis: the spider of Lyon County.

The Spite House has been dismantled. You wail to the world. This injustice will not be left unpunished. Rudy will rest in peace.

I need you all to know that these all seem ridiculous but almost all of them are based on something I personally experienced. I've lived here most of my life.

Ecosia is this cool new search engine that actually plants trees to combat deforestation whenever you generate a search. Personally, having been a mad Googler, I’m pretty fond of Ecosia. It’s nice to know that I can do good with every search, especially considering how expensive those must be to Google and Apple and whatnot.

And hey, with the current wildfires raging, maybe we can plant something to grow in the place of all that devastation. I hope they’re over with soon, I’m so worried for every person out there. The fact that so many people managed to make it out alive is nothing short of a miracle.

Hopefully the water situation is solved soon. Desalination seems like a good idea to help solve the water restriction problem currently plaguing California. Maybe solar panels could be installed on the roofs as well? Anything to have a genuine merger of nature and technology so we always have something to fall back onto. Integration of progress and conservation towards a more balanced path, you know?

Chapter 5 The Treasury

They look outside and see a bunch of blue dragons attacking.

“ The Blue Fire Clan!” Gmńeon snarls and charges outside.

Iquén looks at the rest of the group “ You kids stay here!” He runs out too.

“ Who are those blue dragons?” Aurora asked.

“ The Blue Fire Clan they are another dragon clan we tend to fight a lot over territory.”

“ None of the other dragon clans know about me yet if they did they’d probably try to kill me 'cause I’d be the easiest to get to” Jnoque explains.

" We have to go help them! We can't just stay here!" Aurora gets up and puts the Soler Crest back on.

" What can we do? We'd get fried out there." Slor points out

" The Soler Crest will protect me, right? So you just need to be near me." " We don't know its limits and those dragons can breathe hotter blue fire," Jnoque warns.

Dponá looks outside " We should find Zomkí we don't know what the Volcanic Core can do and we don't want the other clan to get it."

" But we don't know where she went."

"Hm we could check the treasury it's our most guarded spot if an important artifact is anywhere here it's there." " We can show you where it is."

They sneak outside and see dragons fighting it’s chaotic. They see Iquén fighting a big blue dragon

Jnoque wants to help but Dponá stops him “ He’s strong he’ll be fine we need to keep moving.” He nods sadly. They get to a big door connected to a rock wall and see four big blue dragons surrounding Zomkí and she has an injured wing growling at them with other dragons knocked out next to her.

"Hey! Leave her alone!" Dponá yells at them.

They turn and look at the group.

"HA! Do you think you can stop us? A youngling and none dragons we'll burn you up!" He shoots fire at them and Dponá combats it with her own green fire and flies up and they fight.

While that's happening Zomkí fights the other three dragons and helps the rest of the group get inside the treasury.

Jnoque is very worried Dyani noticed this “ Hey their’ll be ok.” Jnoque looks at him “ Y-Yeah..”

“ This place is huge” Slor looks around at the mountains of treasure “ How will we find the Core in here?” The Solar Creat starts to glow again Aurora takes it off and looks at it. One of the star ends is glowing a lot more like a compass.

“ Maybe it can sense the core?”

“ One way to find out.” They walk through the mountains of treasure searching and following the glow. On a treasure pile they see a round, core-like rock that shines with the intensity of molten lava. The Volcanic Core “ Is that it?” Aurora and Jnoque climb up to it. Once she gets close to it both it and the Solar Crest shake and two spirits pop out.

The spirit in the Solar Crest has long, flowing black hair with streaks of silver like cooling embers. His skin is a deep ash color, and he wears a robe that shimmers like the dying light of a fire. He opens his glowing amber eyes.

The other spirit in the Volcanic Core has fiery red hair that flows like molten lava, with eyes that burn a fierce orange. His skin has a warm bronze hue, and he wears armor with glowing ember-like veins running through it.

Once they are aware of their surroundings they become alert and panicked. “ Where are we!? What happened to us!” The Volcanic Core spirit shouted.

“No time to explain! We just need your help!” Aurora declared.

Jnoque touches the core and it glows becomes a necklace around his neck pulling the spirit with it.

Jnoque feels a surge of power in his veins and hears a roar of pain.

Panicked he runs outside to find Dponá and Zomkí on the ground with lots of injuries. Filling up with rage he runs at them.

"Come on this way!" " Where are we going again Apool (app ool)?" A young Jnoque follows his big brother in the woods " I hear there was a cool cave near here" he replied.

" Mom and Dad wouldn't like us going out this far..."

" We'll be quick Jn don't worry."

Apool was so cool he could do all the things Jnoque couldn't he was brave and fearless and always did the right thing.

They approach a cave that has a bunch of keep-out signs

"Ah here is it!"

" I don't think we're supposed to be here Apool..."

"I'll protect you! Come on!" he holds his hand and they go in.

Inside the cave was a pile of glowing gold

" Woah cool!" Apool approaches it but Jnoque stops him and points to a sign that says do not touch. " We don't know what's here and shouldn't touch its stuff.."

" I guess but we could take this back to the village" he goes to pick up a piece of gold and Jnoque pushes him away from it.

Annoyed Apool pushes him back and he lands on top of the gold.

The golds shine dims and zaps him causing him to hold his head in pain and feels ill.

His eyes turn purple pupils turning into slits his hair turns white and his ears turn pointy and black and he grows a fang. The transformation was very painful shaking with tears in his eyes he looks at his brother who has backed away in fear and grabs his arm to pull him off the gold but the transformation has already completed.

Then his throat feels like it’s burning something is building up and he tries to hold it in.

But can’t.

Fire comes shooting out of his mouth burning it

Apool try’s to move out the was but his arm got caught in it burning it off. He screams in agony and passed out.

Realizing what he just did Jnoque panics and runs to him crying he picks him up and it’s a lot easier now and runs to the village to get help.

Someone screams at him and everyone turns to him some doctors snatch Apool from him and run to the clinic. Jnoque tries to follow them but is stopped

"Monster!"

" Stay away from him!"

"Are you gonna hurt us too!?"

In the crowd, he spots a woman and a man.

" Mom! Dad!" scared he goes to them for comfort but they hit him away just look at him disgusted. " Leave freak! How dare you hurt our son!" " If he dies we're hunting you down!" " Get out and don't come back!!" Scared and confused he runs away crying.

Seeing Dponá hurt Jnoque is full of rage and runs at the blue dragons The Volcanic Core glows and he shoots white and purple fire at them. Frightened the blue dragons immadaly run away.

" White fire! Run!"

When they leave Jnoque runs to Dponá and Zomkí and hugs them.

The others come out of the treasury.

Dyani sees their wounds " Are you ok?" Zomkí just smiles " We will be dragons can heal quickly."

" Zomkí..?"

She looks at the spirits " You got them to wake." she smiles " Solaris, Ignis, it's been a long time. But we can catch up later right now we got to help the rest of the clan."

They nod and go the find the other dragons still fighting.

Iquén is seriously hurt. Seeing this both Jnoque and Dponá jump into action Jnoque hopping on her back and she flies towards the blue dragon.

They both breathe fire at the dragon combining their fires together to seriously burn the blue dragon causing him to retreat.

They then run to help Iquén get to a safe place.

Another dragon tries to breathe fire at Aurora and co but she without thinking creates a black shield causing the fire to fly back at the dragon.

“ You have my ability?” Solaris questioned.

" Makes since cause you are the Solar Crest that it has your powers." Aurora shrugged. Before he could say anything some of the dragon clan members come to help them aganst the blue dragons.

Once all of the blue dragons leave they go to help the injured.

The amount of astro software for charts that I've tried to download/test today is... exhausting

I like Astro-seek and I also have the Astrodox app on my phone and I sometimes use that one old Urania software that my mom still has on her laptop but I wanted to install it on my PC as well, to build my own database, but it's too old for my current windows 😩

And so I downloaded a bunch of other programs but they're either blocked by norton (cause they're old lol) or they're shite.

I REALLY want Solar fire but ya girl can't afford that 😭

2023 me has been playing a lot of PMD DX on my switch and for the first time I've chosen a skitty and cubone (now both evolved) and they're quite frankly the strongest duo I've ever had!

Skitty is able to learn elemental movies so my main character (Cherri) Has Blizzard, Thunderbolt, Double Slap and Solar Beam!

My partner Kub has some ground, dark and fire moves so we cover all bases together and I've not yet died on any mission or boss battle :) YET

Basically, I still have an old ds from like 2009 (which is great bcuz it contains pics of 8 year old me which is funny to look back on how insane I was with the ds photo app) and one of the things I used to do was draw from my games! My fave game being pokemon blue team mystery rescue! In fact I still have that og game, but I always played elemental types like Charmander, Torchic, Squirtle and Pikachu and very rarely broached normal types bcuz I didn’t think they’d be any good (10 year old logic - fire good) anyway look here’s a 10 year old me’s drawing of my torchic and squirtle preserved for the ages on a ds that’s 14 years old;

1: definitely New Young Justice, around mid 2019, when a small group of parademons led by Stephenwolf came to earth to conquer, Kon made sure the group (who was on the middle of training them btw) were together and save, and defeated some parademon butts before the justice league and dick and Tim’s titans sent them all back.

Tau (Kroot Hunting Pack) vs. Astra Militarum (Death Korps of Kreig) (loss) 55-56

Dak vs. Dan: battle of the big Ds!

Oh goodness. Had the most fun game of 40k I've had in a while against a new player's second time playing. Scorched Earth, Supply lines, Search and Destroy deployment.

On the embattled forge world of Robothaus, a contingent of Kroot mercenaries--supported by Tau mechanized infantry--launch a daring raid to cut Imperium supply lines to the crusade front. A battalion of Kreigsmen stand guard to defend a critical factorum. Who will win?

I unfortunately forgot to track the game via my app, but we had an excellent game.

Kreig deployed first, Tau had first turn. I deployed infiltrators to left and right NML objectives, and kreig deployed all but an earthshaker on the line. After scouting I was able to destroy 1 sentinel and give 2 wounds with a broadside railgun shot, followed by a minimum wound seeker missile shot, to a second my broadside was promptly destroyed, but was able to hold objectives to turn 2, and sticky home. Lord Solar, with a Command Squad as bodyguards, was able to advance to middle NML and give my Rampagers *extremely* direct fire, followed by a charge to lock me up.

A Guard block of 20 make an incredible 10" charge to take left NML from me. The Unit of sentinels were destroyed, and Reinforcements! was used to put them back into reserves. New unit of sentinels were also deployed to left NML. End of Round 2. 20 - 5 with Dan leading, but Dak not real far behind. After a failed Round 1 push, Dak makes a couple of important charges to flip control of half the board. and Dak manages to shoot a considerable number of kroot off the board, and was responded with deleting 2/3 sentinels from a clutch command reroll from the Ghostkeel's attacks.

Somehow, my unit of rampagers lived through 3 rounds of melee combat with a basilisk and a unit of 10 guardsmen, with one rampager making some incredible saves and stayed alive with 1 wound. The wall of fists finally succumbs to bolter fire from the basilisk and I lost middle ground. The (now named) Hero of the Kroot, Bakor'tche falls. End of Round 3: 32 -20.

With Kreig now catching up, our secondary draws remain unkind, but both lines hold strong. Lost my lone-spear, Ghostkeel takes a lot of hits, but still stands. End of Round 4: 42 - 38. Both armies are pretty spent. This one could come down to the wire folks!

The guard hold 3 objectives, and somehow, no objectives have been burned as both players forgot that it was an option. Right NML objective was not burned for the extra VP by the kroot, and I only remembered at the end of my last Shooting Phase. Score is 55 - 38, with Kreig able to score max at begining of the 5th command phase. By now the Kroot's only hope at victory rests in being able to deny primary against Kreig. The only option is to charge in and out OC Lord Solar and a unit of 5 Guardsmen. The Tau Ghostkeel changed focus to the middle, and clears the Guard off the middle objective, leaving only lord Solar alive. This was a big mistake for the tau, as Solar was 10" away, and the closest Kroot reinforcements of a single Flesh Shaper was 6" away, but would not be enough OC to take it from Solar, and a second unit of carnivores at full strength were 10" away. The full unit of carnivores were hit by Earthshake shots artillery, making them -2" to move and charge.

Top of 5th, The flesh Shaper fails his charge with a 5. The full unit Carnivores need to roll a hailmary roll of 12". No command points left for the kroot, and a possible victory comes down to the last roll in the charge phase. The kroot roll charge......And it misses with a 4! Not even close!

Kreig score will Score is 55 - 53 at the end of the game. And then Dak pulls Defend Stronghold and succeeds at scoring an additional 3 VP making the final score 55-56! Kreig win by 1 point! With a solid secondary draw and a failed charge into the center, Dak turns it around and wins!

The factorum stands, and it looks like the Kroot won't be eating Polish sausage today!

And excellent match by both players!

These CMEs have the ability to disrupt satellite communication, electrical systems and networks, and internet systems. Your phone may not work. If it starts getting hot, take the battery out and put it someplace away from anything flammable.

The second of the cme's that will hit will be sometime around 4:00 to 5 hours later. These are going to be extremely energetic, raising radiation levels on a, b, and gamma levels. Also, the electromagnetic discharge may be enough to start setting fires. If there is a fire near you please get to a safe spot. Animals, the tectonic plates, and Tides may be affected. A CME is being blamed at this point for a power outage in Scotland last week.

oh shoot I'm back edition!

alrighty so, hi, it's been a bit. so I guess I should explain my absence a bit but I ended up getting a certain respiratory illness which included trouble breathing, headaches, nausea, fatigue, and it was so bad that it took me out for basically an entire week.....

yeah pneumonia isn't fun

anyway......

what have I been up to that hasn't been staying in bed all day while doom scrolling way too far in TikTok...

probably a tiny thing here but I reorganized my ipad icons a bit, keeping all the drawing apps on one screen (plus the battery info for the pencil), socials on the next, and games at the end. seems less overwhelming....and cuz I like the background art ^^; (art by @wavecipher)

solar eclipse! we had to drive out an hour towards the path of totality to be able to see it, but honestly this was one of the coolest experiences I've ever got to witness! pictures don't do it full justice and it's really hard to describe the mood. just being able to witness the moon slowly creeping in front of the sun slowly while experiencing this beautiful mix of daytime and nighttime vibes simultaneously....aaaa! I was really sad before I wasn't able to see much of the 2017 eclipse previously and I wanted to make certain it worked out this year, and just so happened that everything lined up perfectly (teehee) to be able to see this! (top pic taken by amber, the others by me)

butts! I ended up using a combination of pose to pose and straight ahead animation here. I wanted to try and push myself with this and experiment, and I'm discovering a bit that I enjoy doing things like water splooshes. down the line I wanna touch on more things like water ripples or fire animation too.

all of this happened before I got sick and bedridden and I was a bit worried that I would lost the drive to anima--

nope! still got it! I'm pretty happy with how this came out! I asked for a random object and a random action at home and got "apple" and "jumping" and I decided to add the bit at the end with it bonking and bruising itself. I used a mix of drawing individual frames, but also simple subtle transforms when the change was minimal anyway to streamline the work just a bit.

I originally struggled with getting the impact to look right. adding a smoke cloud and simulating a camera shake seemed to help with that (which I struggled originally because I tried to keyframe it in capcut but because it's animated of twos that came off weird and the earthquake effect didn't satisfy me either so I had to just manually move everything in toonsquid...which ended up taking less time overall anyway) I especially like the doubling/smear frame I made right before it hits the ground.

I think improvements I wanna make is planning out the facial expressions more. there is a point where the apple realizes it loses balance but I think it happens way too fast to be properly noticible at full speed. also I did abuse the transform tool juuust a bit much at the end so maybe I'll stick with reserving that for ease in and outs.

lately I've been in a bit of a Starfox kick. I ended up finding the N64 cartridge at a game shop (only $40 USD which was definitely a bit cheaper than I was expecting for a first party title) and I'm honestly really impressed with how well it looks compared to the NSO version on switch, particularly with transparency effects, colours seem bolder (the gold rings in particular stand out more), and how smooth the game runs overall (with occasional but expected slowdowns in certain areas). also the voice samples seem to sound more accurately to a radio signal. I also wanna see if I can get the 3ds version of SF64 sometime too and compare that.

80 Degree Halloween

It was never 79 degrees on my birthday, October 28th.

Almost 80 degrees right before Halloween and November?

Absolutely never.

But everyone just stays consistently distracted now with all the social media scrolling, messenger apps, non stop notifications, endless shows to stream, multiple screens, videogames, anime, comic book movies & tv shows, star wars, halloween, amazon prime 1 day sale, thanksgiving, black friday, cyber monday, christmas, new years, presidential election --

Noone says, at a mass scale, "Hey, it was never almost 80 degrees Halloween weekend."

The humidity is one thing.

48 degrees & 90% humidity is a result of the bomb testing they did over the summer with resulting smoke falsely blamed on "canadian wildfires" when many in NYC reported seeing a mushroom cloud right before the smoke filled the skies on the east coast.

Humidity & air quality have not returned to normal since that day.

This is different where the temperatures have been steadily rising due to climate change, the polar ice caps are gradually melting, the ozone layer is becoming depleted, we have overextracted the worlds resources.

Capitalism means never having to say when.
