I don’t know about you guys, but I am sickened and disgusted by the recent surge in intolerance and downright hatred against the LGBTQ community.  We are all humans, for Pete’s Sake!  What does it matter who another person chooses to love or how they choose to live?  I was surprised and pleased to see Dan Rather address this topic, so I will turn the floor over to him and Elliott Kirschner now…

the best thing about going through old posts from 2012 is remembering how people on tumblr and the internet in general back then spoke EVERY other WORD in CAPS LOCK while reacting to things they vaguely liked as if oh my god. “Talk to a therapist” “go to the psych ward” are ableist statements and r not supportive to the psychotic communities who experience delusions of persecution and extreme paranoia who wont trust their therapist or the psych ward staff?? and are likely to get traumatized if they go to therapy or the psych ward in a state like that

Seen posts on here that recommend that psychotics (Doesn’t specify what kind) speak to therapists? And from personal experience I don’t agree (depends on what kind) and think it can be harmful. I was lucky enough to be given a few free sessions-my mom had something set up (like 3-the country I live in offers that to some ppl 🇨🇦 but my therapist) but it was during my psychotic depression (w chronic paranoia) and now I feel ways about seeing a therapist.. idk don’t recommend seeing one if ur like that, it was kinda traumatizing and it wasn’t the therapists fault

Everything is traumatizing when ur in a state like that :( still learning what triggers I got while like that esp having experienced things for as long as I have

I also never told my therapist about the psychotic symptoms I was experiencing during things, didn’t trust being honest about them with a professional at the time, just had to mask a lot. Didn’t tell my family either. I was rlly scared about the terrifying things I was going through internally

there is real action to be done here. we do that by targeting the people responsible for human rights atrocities. nestle owns child slaves. mark schneider is responsible for nestle. why aren't we holding these people responsible for their actions?

ughhh if i can complain for a moment i’ve been feeling so unsatisfied with my art latelyyyy it all looks samey and bad and it feels like i hit a plateau where i’m not getting any better. i don’t care how many notes i get but im so insecure everytime i make anythingggg that i care about. i have a whole backlog of finished drawings that i havent shared cuz i always feel like people are making fun of me behind my back about this stuff you know. i just kinda miss having like 50 followers cuz i never felt embarrassed by this i was wayyy more authentic. i just haven’t had that creative spark lately and everything i do looks kinda unfinished and amatuer. i knowwww it doesn’t matter and i should create what i want without feeling bad about it. but anyway. whiny moment over

i dont even mean this in a catchy, buzzword way but i really do think autistics trigger the fuck out of people with NPD. it keeps being a pattern in a VERY specific type of person in my work life. a lot of ppl w NPD have a very paranoiac sense of "everyone is trying to get me and tear me down" thing that comes w the grandiosity. not just 'wow i am great' but 'i will achieve greatness and i HAVE to and it won't be okay if i don't' and the fundamental belief that people 'lower' on the social hierarchy are secretly envious and making up ways to fuck you over and take what you have (yknow, bc Everything Is About You). being allistic on top of that - assuming your experience is default and everyone knows these minor social tics & anyone who doesn't respond in kind is being minorly petty at the very least - and you have someone for whom every little autistic social mishap is triggering the "secretly hates me is out to get me is trying to signal to me that i am cringe" alarms. i will play my tiny violin here and say if they see you as hot or conventionally attractive, they WILL NOT assume you are weird or neurodivergent, not in a billion years, they ONE BILLION PERCENT WILL ASSUME it's obvious that you are trying to signal you think you're better than them. it's really sad and it's a really stressful way to live but it helped me to understand WHY this dynamic was happening

This scene actually reminded me a bit about Boom Boom from the other X-Men animated series, where they all were teenagers. Boom Boom also once went to a party and used her powers while dancing.

Honey, I wish it was just about "people not getting along". They tried to sell you and then who knows what would happen to you. They are not seeing you as a person, but as something beneath them. They want to remove you from existence. They want to "cure you" of your "affliction" - i.e. powers. And yeah, that may be tempting for you and some of the other mutants, like Rogue. But it's still eugenics at its finest, honey.

I know that at the start of this episode there was said that science sees mutants as the "new step in human evolution", but "next step" is not always equivalent to "better". And even if there are some perks that the new evolutionary group has then it doesn't necessarily mean they will be the ones who end up surviving. Neanderthals were a lot smarter than we were and they didn't make it till now. BUT it's also important to remember that human society doesn't work by natural rules anymore, so applying the natural ideas of survival simply can't be done. It'd be stupid of us if we did. Coexistence is possible without deeming one group as lesser! Sadly, humanity has issues with that.
