Honestly I think it would do us all well to go back to kinda cringy feminism again for a little bit idk cause I think maybe for some people the discourse somehow circled back around to supporting sexism just rebranded or whatever so its more aesthetic
#personal#instead of progressing the discourse into idk more inclusion of women of color and trans women#it went in the direction of like glorifying women being stupid and romanticizing beauty standarts#also weird centering of men all over again in feminism and in general for some reason#remember in the early 2010s when emma watson was like obliterated for that 'he for she' campaign#because it prioritized men in feminist discourse and then thats the exact direction where things went later on (and where it is currently)#people care more abt like 'haha this is my golden retriever bf he drinks respect women juice!' than about actual women speaking abt feminis#like being a feminist isnt about social change and women prioritizing each other its abt how dudes are hot when they do the bare minimum!#also have you noticed the rise in lesbophobia both in the sense of persecution of lesbians themselves#and of lesbians relationships and culture which other wlw are also part of (its giving lavender menace)#and also remember how we had the me too movement and then immediately after#everyone still fell for a smear campaing against a victim of domestic abuse?#anyway i would really love to get back to basics of like women should support each other!#and beauty standarts overwhelmingly negatively affect women and girls!#and we still need to incentivize girls to seek out intellectual pursuits especially in STEM and leadership roles!#because we continue to be underpresented in those fields and the only way to enact change is to bring our perspectives to those areas#instead of asking politely for guys to throw us a bone!#also stop acting like its cringe to openly and vocally center and prioritize women in every sphere of our lives possible!#and also maybe go back to actively trying to do that! and considering that a good thing!??#because we're the ones who should have our backs most of all?? idk idk#also where are the teeth??#why is everyone so afraid of being angry now???#its like some people circled back to being afraid of being mistaken for man-hating or something#just for pointing out common sense aspects of oppression without adding an asterisk about how men suffer too!#i thought we all knew there is no such thing as reverse sexism!!!#idk!!!#and this isnt me condoning choice feminism many women are evil and actively work against their own interests#or antagonize other women to make themselves feel important such as terfs etc#but idk its like everyone internalized that 'well women can suck too' so hard that its become like#'*most* women suck and we dont even have to keep trying to empathize and prioritize each other and our issues anymore'

Year of the Dragon
You and Dan Heng are a match made in heaven until fate takes him away from you too soon. You’re determined to get rid of him, but how are you going to get rid of a god?

Chapter 1: Take Me Home
The strapless, white dress with light, gold sparkles all around hugs your bodice and flares out at your hips and thighs, creating a dramatic silhouette that makes you look ethereal. Yet, the happiness reflected in your eyes is far from what should be present in a wife-to-be. You step off the small stool and leave the changing room, where your friends are waiting for you.
"This is the one!" March exclaims. Then, with a teasing smile: "Looks like a dress he'll want to get his hands on if you know what I mean."
Stelle sighs. “Is there no limit to your inappropriate innuendos?”
March puts her arm around you. “You know I’m right, Stelle. They’re taking the next step together as blissful newlyweds where intimacy is at its finest.” She winks at you. “You gotta take advantage of those golden years.”
“Gotcha,” you say. “I’ll definitely keep that in mind.”
March puts her hands on her hips. “Hey! I’m serious!”
Stelle has a hand on her chin, looking you up and down. “I agree with March. It’s a beautiful dress, but most importantly, it fits you very well.”
“Oh my! You look absolutely gorgeous!” You hear the heels of a woman working at the high-end boutique. She's already behind you, admiring the dress, by the time you turn around. “It’s like it was made for you.”
“...It’s like it was made for you.”
You were standing in front of a mirror with him behind you. His hug was warm and comforting, and when he put his chin on your shoulder and smiled, you felt like the luckiest woman in the world.
“It’s beautiful,” you said.
“You really like it?”
You turned around. “Of course!”
“Then, it’s yours.”
“Wh—What? Just like that?”
He awkwardly rubbed the back of his head. “I… designed it for you. It was my first time, and I wasn’t sure if you’d—”
You cut him off with a kiss on his soft lips. “...I love it, Dan Heng.”
“Would you like to see some accessories that’ll go perfectly with this dress?”
“Oh, yes, of course she would,” March answers for you.
Soon enough, you, Stelle, and March are following the worker toward another part of the boutique. You’re walking up the stairs when she looks over her shoulder and asks:
“So, who’s the lucky man?”
There’s a brief pause before you answer her. “We were high school friends.”
She gasps. “Oh! High school sweethearts? That’s adorable! I adore those kinds of stories. It’s so rare for a relationship after high school to work out, and… ”
The rest of her rambling falls on deaf ears. It’s something you’re used to hearing when you tell people the simple basics about your “fairytale relationship” with your fiancé. You met in high school and were friends for a very long time before you got together. As soon as people heard that, you never had to explain how you got together as most people were enamoured by the "high school sweetheart love story." You never want to explain anyway, considering how you ended up with your fiancé is as beautiful as it is painful.
If you never lost the love of your life, you and he never would've happened.
“Is there anything you have in mind?” the woman asks as soon as you reach an area filled with expensive but stunning wedding accessories for women.
“Not anything in particular, but—"
Elegantly displayed on the neck of a female mannequin is a crescent moon necklace made out of pure gold. As soon as the woman notices what you're looking at, she says:
“Oh, good eye! That design is new! It’s…”
Again, her explanation falls on deaf ears when you’re once again reminded of him.
“Can I look now?”
“Patience.”
You were standing on the balcony of Dan Heng’s room, facing the view of his family’s garden with his eyes closed. You had a hunch that Dan Heng had a surprise for you, but nothing could’ve prepared you for what you were about to see.
“...Okay. Open your eyes.”
You were speechless upon seeing an elegant, golden necklace in the shape of a crescent moon where your initials are engraved. Dan Heng unclipped the necklace and put it around your neck. His hug was warm and comforting, and you could feel his heartbeat.
“Happy birthday.”
“Hey!” You turn at the sound of March’s voice. She and Stelle are looking at some headpieces in a glass case. March gestures for you to come. You come up beside her just when she says: “This would look great with your dress.”
“Mind the pricetag,” Stelle cautions.
March takes a breath. “Ooh, okay, never mind… This might be a little out of our budget.”
You look back at the necklace. Stelle, noticing that you’re a little distracted, turns and sees the beautiful necklace in the other corner of the room. She looks back at you but says nothing.
Eventually, you wander toward a different corner of the room, looking at earrings and bracelets when you hear Stelle’s voice.
“Everything okay?”
“Yeah,” you say. “Why do you ask?”
“You keep staring at that necklace.”
“Oh, well… It looks just like the one I have.” You force a little smile. "I guess I was a little surprised."
You turn back to look at a new collection of earrings, but Stelle knows what’s on your mind. And like you, she’s reminded of the loss of a friend. She’s seen it all. Your ups and downs with Dan Heng, the man who went from a childhood friend to a lover with the evolution lasting for close to a whole decade.
“This is… truly amazing,” Stelle said, looking closely at the necklace Dan Heng had got you for your birthday. “Rich kid’s… riching.”
“Is that even a word?”
“Probably not.” She stood upright. “But I expected nothing less.” Just then, a large advertisement of a high-end fashion brand introducing their latest fall collection flashed on a tall building. “You never would’ve thought by looking at him.”
You looked in the direction she was looking and saw models with perfect skin and fits on the screen. Then, an elegant-looking logo in the shape of an L appeared on the screen. Seconds later, the name ‘Lunae’ appeared underneath the logo.
Stelle was right. You never would’ve thought Dan Heng would be the heir to one of the biggest and most luxurious fashion companies in the world. When you first met, he was a scrawny, stubborn kid who ruined your sandcastle. And now, he was someone you loved with all your heart.
March stretches as soon as the three of you leave the boutique. The only thing you bought was the dress.
“Gosh, that was exhausting. I’m starved.”
“Isn’t there a Cultural Festival going on right now?” Stelle asks. “We could go there for some food.”
“Oh, you’re right!” March takes out her phone. “Today’s the second day… I think? There’s supposed to be some awesome performances happening.”
You’re on the way there with your friends when your phone goes off. You slow down and take the call as it’s from your fiancé.
“Miss me?”
“Oh, of course. It’s…” You look at your watch. “It’s only been an afternoon.”
“That’s too long without you.”
“Okay, okay. What’s the real reason you called, huh?”
“On my way to drop things off at the pawn shop, and then I’m going to grab some groceries for tonight. Anything you want for dinner?”
March looks back and sees you smiling and talking about something. Then, when you get off the phone and join her and Stelle, she asks:
“Was that your man?”
“He has a name, you know,” you say. “But yes, that was. Nothing exciting. Just syncing up for what we’re going to have for dinner.”
“Should’ve flustered him and said—”
“March,” Stelle deadpans.
“What? You don’t even know what I was going to say!”
Your fiancé had been a friend of yours, Stelle’s, and later Dan Heng's in high school. He’d confessed his feelings after knowing that your life was on the road to normalcy after the terrible, horrific accident that left you as an empty shell. Because of him, your days became brighter, but there was never a day where you didn’t think of Dan Heng and… what could’ve been. But, you love your fiancé, and that’s all that matters.
It’s late afternoon by the time you reach the Cultural Festival, which is bustling with visitors from all walks of life. You got to do some wine tasting from the Mondstadt booth—where you also heard the not-so-subtle gossip about how “hot” the bartender was—and showed off your calligraphy skills at the Inazuma booth. As the Year of the Dragon is right around the corner, you also enjoy a memorable lion dance performance with people from your hometown, Xianzhou, and the neighbouring region, Liyue.
“Oi, Haitham! Where’s my wallet?”
You and your friends walk by a pretty male who’s searching for something inside his bag while not too far away another handsome blonde is showcasing his swordsmanship with a blue-haired male on stage.
“Ooh, there’s also a fortune-telling booth,” March says. The map she’s holding is so big, it covers her entire upper body as she holds it. “Wanna check it out?”
“Lead the way.”
You and Stelle follow March past a popular circus show by the Cirque de Fontaine. You almost bump into a tall man with long dark blue hair with red tips and his friend, a man with long blonde hair and green eyes, as you’re distracted by the cheers for a young man and woman who look nearly identical on stage.
"Careful."
Is it silly that you remind yourself you're getting married when you look into the eyes of the man with the long, dark blue hair? He's handsome, you admit, and his gentle demeanour is reminiscent of Dan Heng. In the end, you quickly apologize and continue on your way.
“We’re here.”
Stelle looks around. “Are you sure this is the right place?”
Unlike the lively atmosphere at the other booths, the one a short distance away is a little… cold. There are no visitors around the dark green tent; the only occupant is a person sitting inside wearing a dark green, brown, and red robe. The hood is up, so you can’t see the person’s face.
“...This looks sus as hell,” March whispers. “Maybe we should go.”
Stelle takes another look at the map. “It’s a registered booth, though.”
“Hello, lovelies.” You and your friends turn toward the person—who you believe is an elderly woman from her voice—inside the tent. She puts her hands together and slightly bows. “Happy New Year… Would you like a free fortune prediction for the upcoming year?”
You and your friends glance at each other, and Stelle says:
“Sure. Why not?”
March grabs her friend’s arm just as Stelle steps forward. “...Girl, are you sure?”
“Ah… the one in pink,” the woman says, and March points to herself. “I see a raise… and possibly a promotion in your future this year. Would you like to learn more?”
March immediately sits in front of her.
“Well, that was fast,” you say.
Stelle sighs. “That’s March for you, I guess.”
You aren’t surprised that your friends are getting such great predictions for the upcoming Year of the Dragon. You assume it’s a business strategy, so you’re expecting to hear how you’ll also thrive and prosper this year. Once you sit in front of her and the woman takes your hand, she immediately looks at you, whereas her head has always been tilted down when reading Stelle and March’s fortunes.
“My child… A wedding is in your near future..." Well, that’s not creepy at all. If you recall, no one has mentioned your wedding, nor are you wearing your engagement ring. “...But, you will walk a path of uncertainty, and only when you walk with the man in the shadows, you will see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
“...Did you… understand any of that?” March whispers.
“No,” Stelle answers flatly. “Not at all.”
“...Man in the shadows?” you ask.
“I cannot see who it is,” the woman says. “...His presence is unlike anything I’ve ever felt before.” Her head tilts downwards, and you assume she’s looking at your palm. “My dear… You’ve suffered a great loss in your past." Your heart freezes over, and your eyes widen. "Fire, destruction… Their bodies were never—”
“Stop!”
You didn’t mean to sound so anxious. But the short cry is clear that time does not heal all wounds. March has a comforting hand on your shoulder while Stelle is baffled and intrigued, though she does not show it. Just who is this woman?
You take back your hand. "Sorry... I... I think that's enough for today."
Then, you stand, but before you can leave with your friends, the woman says:
“...It’s up to you, my child.” You look over your shoulder. “Your Year of the Dragon will be the most exciting yet. Reap its rewards or fall further into darkness.”
“C'mon.” Stelle grabs your arm. "Let's go.”
The woman’s voice is quiet, but you hear:
“Be very careful, my dear.”
◆◆◆
The large golden gates creak open, revealing a spacious room where small, floating lights flicker until they settle on a glowing honey yellow. A tall, slender young man with fair skin, black hair, and green eyes walks with an air of confidence over a gold, dragon-shaped bridge. Statues of dragons are situated around the room—where endless, liquid gold pours from their mouths—into a small river that runs underneath the bridge and into crevices of the walls. If one looks up, it will remind you of a cathedral with large arched windows… except if you look out, you’ll be looking straight into the galaxy.
The footsteps stop just before a set of wide stairs. Two men are sitting across from each other on golden thrones in the shape of a dragon.
“You’re looking well for not having shown your face for weeks, Dan Feng.”
The one with pale skin and waist-length show white hair doesn’t spare Dan Feng a glance. Instead, he’s focused on the chess board in front of him where all the pieces are dragons.
It’s his playing partner, a man with yellow, diamond-shaped pupils and short brown hair with a long fringe on the side of his face, who says:
“Yes. Where have you been? We were quite worried.”
“Worried is a stretch, Zhongli,” the white-haired man says. With a snap of his fingers, one of the chess pieces moves to a different spot and suddenly takes out a weapon and smashes the other piece to smithereens. “I’m sure Dan Feng is capable of taking care of himself. He is one of us, after all.”
“Yes, well, before you two can continue talking as if I’m not here… The Aeons have escaped to the human realm.” Now, Dan Feng knows he has their full attention.
“How do you know this?”
“Not sure if you’ll like it, Neuvi, but a dead, little birdie told me all about it.”
“Sampo?”
Dan Feng nods.
"Did you confirm he was telling the truth?"
"Always the careful one, aren't you?" Dan Feng asks. "But, I did. Went down to the dank dungeons of death myself. Honestly, can't blame them. Their quality of life must've been horrendous."
Zhongli puts a hand underneath his chin. “...The Aeons have been locked up for centuries. How in the world could this happen?"
"Someone must have helped them," Neuvilette says, “why would they do that? And… What would the Aeons want with the humans?” Neuvilette looks at Dan Feng—”Why did Sampo tell you this now?”
“Well, my water dragon friend," Dan Feng says, "Sampo wants us to do something about it. The Year of the Dragon is coming, which means the gates to the human realm will open again. Assuming the Aeons left during the last Year of the Dragon, then they've been causing chaos for over a decade down there. We need to haul their asses back up because this is where they belong."
Suddenly, thunder rumbles in the distance, but no one is fazed. Then, a disembodied, cheerful voice sounds throughout the room:
“Happyyy Year of the Dragon!”
Lightning strikes a spot between Neuvilette and Zhongli, and when the smoke clears, there’s a young girl with mint-green eyes and long purple hair.
“It’s our year once again, my brothers!” She makes a fist and gently hits her heart. “How are we going to celebrate this year?”
“Work, Bailu,” Dan Feng answers flatly. “We have work to do.”
Bailu looks at him incredulously. “What do you mean we have work?” After Zhongli tells her about the conversation earlier, Bailu puts her hands on her hips. “So, you’re telling me that we have to spend the year cleaning up someone else’s mess? We won’t get to go down and party with the humans for another twelve years!”
“We aren’t supposed to get involved with humans in the first place, Bailu,” Neuvilette says. “You know that.”
“Well, yeah… I know. But, I’ve been seeing all the cool technology they’ve been coming up with. Like, did you know they have robots that’ll create art and write for you now? It’s literal magic!”
“It always baffles me how you can get so excited about human technology,” Dan Feng says. He snaps his fingers, and parchment and a quill appear in midair, where the quill writes what’s on Dan Feng’s mind:
We’re Gods.
“But, the fact that humans aren’t and can develop all these cool gadgets makes them so much more interesting!” Bailu looks at the disinterested faces of her dragon brothers. Only Zhongli seems to show mild interest. “Just wait until we get down there and we lose all of our godly powers. You’ll be forced to adapt to human technology just to survive.”
“...We lose our powers?”
“Guess you weren’t expecting that plot twist, huh, Neuvi? You would know if you visit every dragon year. The longer we stay down there, the more human we become. But, as soon as we poof back here, we slowly gain our powers back.”
Neuvilette almost looks disgusted.
“If the Aeons left during the last Year of the Dragon, they would’ve stayed in the human realm for twelve years…" Zhongli says. "At least, they'll be weakened, but we cannot underestimate them."
“We have one whole year!” Bailu whines. “Can’t this Aeon hunting mission wait until after we celebrate? It’s literally our year!”
“I guess it can’t hurt.” Everyone looks at Dan Feng. “It’ll be interesting to see the foolishness of humans during this time.”
“Woo! That’s one for Brother Moon!”
“Brother Moon?” Neuvilette asks.
“He’s the Dragon of the Moon, isn’t he?"
“Anyways,” Zhongli says, “looks like we’ll have no choice but to go to the human realm this year. Make sure you’re prepared.”
Neuvilette sighs. "And if we refuse?"
"Oh, come now, Neuvi," Dan Feng says. "Show some camaraderie. We have a traitor out there... At least the cronies of death know that we're innocent."
Only Bailu is beaming with excitement.
Later that evening, Dan Feng is in his room, looking out at the galaxy when he senses a presence. He doesn’t need to turn around to know who it is.
“Need something, Brother Earth?”
“I’m sure Bailu would be thrilled to hear you’re catching on to her nicknames,” Zhongli says.
“It’ll be our little secret.”
Zhongli is beside him just as an asteroid flies by. “...Sampo is neither friend nor foe." Dan Feng glances at him. “Call me curious, but I just find it strange he would go out of his way to tell you that the Aeons have escaped. How would he know? He’s the Reaper. The Aeons are none of his business.”
“...Sampo may act on his own interests, but even he is afraid of what the Aeons are capable of. Considering if they were to interfere with the natural order of things, it would be disrupting his work.”
“Natural order of things… Are you saying they’d interfere with the afterlife?”
Dan Feng briefly closes his eyes. “Sampo was the one who approached me first.”
The star-covered skies were different shades of purple and pink, and occasionally one would see shooting stars or meteoroids fly by. A tall, muscular man with tufted dark blue hair stood on a cliff, overlooking a long bridge where small, floating lights were bobbing their way across. They were the souls of the deceased, crossing the bridge that would erase their memories of their past life and toward an unknown realm, and only Sampo, the Reaper, could see what they looked like before they died.
“That bored, huh?”
Sampo turned around. “Let’s just say I saw something quite… intriguing. I can’t stop thinking about it, which is why I called you here.”
“Okay,” Dan Feng says, not interested in the slightest. “And what would that be?”
Sampo walked a few steps toward him. “...Did you know you have a doppelganger? A man who looked exactly like you in the human realm. Honestly, I thought it was you but with a better haircut.” He smiled upon seeing the hard look in Dan Feng’s eyes. “...Is it just me, or did you already know about him?”
So, he reincarnated, and if he looked like him, then his life was cut short once again… Dan Feng clenched his fists as he saw his brother’s face. What had happened to him this time? Was it because of a woman… again?
“Your silence is telling me a lot of things,” Sampo said.
“How did he die? You know, don’t you?”
“I do. I had a front-row seat to his untimely death so to speak. Very exhilarating, however.”
“...Untimely? Are you saying it wasn’t time for him to die?”
That cat-like smile was even more annoying than usual.
“I’ll tell you what you want to know. But, in exchange, I need a favour from you and your dragon friends.”
“...That’s when he told me he senses there's something strange going on in the human realm," Dan Feng says. "Over the last decade, he gradually noticed people are dying... when they aren't supposed to."
"And that led to the discovery that the Aeons have escaped?"
"Not directly. It was a fleeting thought, but someone went down to check anyway, and"—Dan Feng slightly smiles—"'lo-and-behold... our big, bad gods are gone. Apparently, there was an investigation without alerting everyone else, and while they couldn’t find our dirty, little traitor, they’re sure it wasn’t anyone from Castle of Dragons.”
“That explains why they entrusted this task to us.” Zhongli glances at his friend. “But it sounds like it worked in your favour. Sampo probably wouldn’t have told you about your doppelganger if he couldn’t get anything in return.”
“He would've baited me for as long as he can,” Dan Feng says flatly.
“...Who is this doppelganger of yours, if I may ask?”
Dan Feng closes his eyes for a brief moment and mutters a name that hasn’t left his lips in centuries.
“Dan Heng, my brother.”
◆◆◆
Over the next couple of days, you and your fiancé are settling nicely in your new home. But, you never told him about the strange encounter with the fortune teller at the Cultural Festival, even though it’s been on your mind. You already know what he’ll say:
“It’s just a creepy coincidence… Don’t let it bother you.”
You’ve never asked, but you gradually noticed how he’d change the topic or brush it aside when it’s about Dan Heng. Perhaps the wound hasn’t fully healed.
Your fiancé is cooking a special dinner for New Year’s Eve when you go to the kitchen to find him.
“Have you seen my necklace?”
“Necklace?” he asks, looking at you. “What necklace?”
“The one Dan Heng gave me. I've been looking for it over the past few days, but—”
“...Oh, that. I… I pawned it.”
“You… what?”
He turns off the stove. “I told you I was dropping some things off at the pawn shop the other day.”
“Why would you do that?!”
“You never wore it anymore. I just…" He walks up to you and attempts to put his hands on your shoulders. But, you step away. "I thought you didn’t want it anymore.”
“Didn’t want it anymore?” You clench your fists. “You should've asked! That wasn’t for you to decide!”
“I’m sorry. I…” He takes a small breath. “You’re right. I should’ve asked instead of making that choice for you. But… It’s about time we move on.”
“...What are you talking about?”
“Don’t you think keeping that necklace is hurting you? Hurting us?” Is it just you, or do you have no idea what he’s talking about? “It’s been years since the accident. Keeping something like that… It’ll only remind you of the past.”
“So, according to your logic, I should also get rid of all the things my parents got me as well.”
“No! Of course not! That’s not what I meant.” You walk out of the kitchen with him following you. “Dan Heng wasn’t just a friend.”
You turn around with a hard look in your eyes. “I’m getting my necklace back.” Then, you walk to the closet near the door to grab your jacket.
“It’s late.” His tone isn’t so kind anymore. “Is it really that important?” You don’t bother answering that question but instead, ask for the address of the pawn shop. He hesitates, and it isn’t until you ask for it again that he finally tells you. You grab your car keys and are about to open the garage door when he grabs your arm. “...It’s my fault, I admit. But, can’t you wait until tomorrow? It’s going to rain.”
Even if it can, you still want to get out of the house anyway.
By the time you arrive at the pawn shop, it’s already raining. The vintage-looking pawn shop looks as if it popped out of a fantasy novel. As soon as you step inside, you smell the scent of fresh wood. The place is lit entirely out of oil lamps. Some are hanging from the ceiling. Some sit on small stands. Old paintings and shelves with books and other knicknacks populate the walls. You walk past a glass case with old journals, compasses, and objects you’ve never seen before—not in Xianzhou, at least. Just when you reach the counter, a young woman pushes the beaded curtain aside.
“Hello.” She steps out. “Can I help you?”
“I’m here for a necklace.”
After describing it to her, she looks almost apologetic. “Oh, I’m sorry… Not too long after that young man dropped it off, someone bought it.” Your heart immediately sinks to the pit of your stomach. “Were you interested in buying it?”
“Buying it? That belonged to me," you say, trying but failing to let your emotions get the better of you. “...Do you know who bought it?”
“A woman. A very pretty one, at that. Long blonde hair and gray eyes. I didn’t get a name, though.”
Well… That really narrows it down.
“I’m sorry," the woman continues. "I wish I could be more helpful.”
You look around, checking the store for any CCTV cameras. When you finally find one, you point to it. “Could you check and see if you can identify her?”
“I can try, but… it's quite old, so I hope I can get some clear footage. Could you come back tomorrow morning?"
What other choice do you have?
By the time you leave the shop, it’s pouring. You quickly get in the car and take a glance at your phone.
Are you coming home? Are you okay? I’m sorry… Please forgive me.
You don’t want to forgive him, but a part of you still hopes that you can talk things out. You shoot a quick reply, telling him that you’ll be back at the shop tomorrow. As soon as you toss your phone in the passenger seat, it buzzes, but you don’t bother looking at it again.
You’re driving slower than usual as it’s getting difficult to see the road in front of you and your only companion is the heavy sound of rain against your car.
The one day you forgot your umbrella was the one day it rained. You were standing awkwardly at the bus stop, noticing that you were the only one to take public transportation while everyone else left in cars or had someone to drive them home. A bunch of your classmates drove past you, but you weren’t too surprised that they ignored you. You were like the black sheep of the school. You weren’t rich; you didn’t have connections. But, you did have good grades and loving parents who encouraged you to apply to this private school as it’d “look good on college applications.” There wasn’t any evidence that it’d truly help you, but it was an elite school with good programs. So, why not?
It wasn’t until a week in that you realized everyone knew each other. Or, at least they knew of each other. The community was small, and some people had asked about you and your background. You quickly caught on that telling the truth was a mistake. Some of your classmates made fun of you; others avoided you. The better ones were those who gave you a polite nod and smile. But the best one was Dan Heng, a boy who you met at a park almost a decade ago. A quiet, calm kid who made an effort to sit with you at lunch and unknowingly drew attention to you by giving you his.
You took a breath. Okay. Maybe you can run home. Twenty kilometres isn’t that bad. You ran 5 kilometres and survived. Then you’d have a fun story to tell your parents who were currently overseas. Just as you finished tightening your shoelaces, thunder rumbled in the distance, but it was the sudden calm, male voice that startled you.
“...Hey.”
You turned and almost gasped. “D-Dan Heng? What are you doing here?”
“...Practice got cut short.” He was still in his track uniform. “You don’t have an umbrella?”
“It’s refreshing to run in the rain, don’t you think?” Dan Heng continued staring at you until you finally sighed. “No, I forgot mine.”
“...You’re not running in this weather.”
“Yeah, well, if I continue waiting, it’ll be midnight.”
Dan Heng moved closer to you until you were under his umbrella. “I’ll take you home…”
Suddenly, the truck, speeding in the opposite lane, starts swerving.
Tires squealed.
The incoming headlights come as fast as the speed of light.
You swerve.
A crash. A bang. And soon, you’re plunging into total darkness.
…
…
…
You want to open your eyes but can’t. But you know you’re still alive. You taste the fresh blood that runs from your head to your mouth. You feel the pain of a million needles stabbing you from all angles. You want to cry, speak, or move. But, you’ve become a vegetable. In the darkness, you see the silhouette of a man. Who is he? You have no idea. So, with the last of your strength, you mutter the name of the person you wish to see:
“...Dan Heng.”
And then the silhouette disappears. Now, you hear a calm, male voice.
"...Save her."
A chuckle.
“And here I thought you didn’t like getting involved with humans.”
Then, you hear someone snap their fingers, and then everything goes completely silent.

End notes:
I don't think anyone can be more excited about this story than me lolol This began as a little seed of an idea a few months ago, and it wouldn't leave my head. At the time, I was thinking of just posting it as a one-shot. But after finding out it's the Year of the Dragon, I kept getting more ideas about it, and what better time to post than, well, now? lmao
There will be a little bit of Blade/You but I've yet to decide if it'll turn into a love triangle... Regardless, I'm determined to make this an epic crossover with fun character interactions between the two worlds. LET'S GOO.

Alright so it’s been a hot minute since i’ve been here, life truly gets in the way and i feel that i’m going through the motions but finally after the buzz has settled i wanted to reflect a bit on Station 19 season 6.
I think we’re standing at a different place than we were by the end of season 5 and i believe that’s great. We went from that insanity -not in a good way- of season to something much much better. Few changes were made and it showed from the very beginning of season 6. To put it simply it was raw, by far the rawest season in terms of storyline, obviously because of what Maya went through, the repercutions it had on Carina and so on… Mental health was the overall arc for season 6 and honestly? I loved how it played out… Fair to say a LOT of people saw themselves in Carina and Maya which sparked the conversation -the very much needed conversation-
It was a rollercoaster but i’m glad we went through those moments because it lead to a healthier outcome instead of a quick fix it showed a more realistic side of a journey that can’t be taken lightly. On the other hand i wished they would’ve handled the Beckett story a bit better, by the end of it the writers made a good job by Vic checking up on him and just sparkling that conversation. I enjoyed the brief love triangle between Andy/Eli/Travis, it would have been funnier that they explored that angle deeper but i guess it turned out alright.
The expectations were so high when a female chief was announced but it turns out that it was just another love interest for a man, love to see it (please notice the sarcasm). While i don’t mind that Ross had history with Sullivan i kinda hated how her character just became the woman simping for the guy. They tried to redeem her a bit but it wasn’t enough. I would have LOVED that she actually made some changes within SFD to support women and actually make things better. Remember the storyline about fighting sexism? Yeah, me too. Anyways it was terrible that she was shamed for having a consensual relationship with another adult but it makes me grit my teeth the double standards: the whole you’re heroic for basically organizing a mutiny but when someone breaks protocol for saving a life that’s wrong or having a relationship with someone who outranks you but we’re totally ignoring that too, i get it, it’s for the sake of drama but certain things needs to make sense.
All that leads me to Andy being captain, we all saw it coming, there’s no way Maya was going to be captain again -at least not while being on 19- and while it should have been handled a bit better (the woman does have ambitions and putting a pause to pursue her dreams to heal does not mean she needs to abandon it) i think Andy deserved something a bit better, not just: alright you’re captain now. At least her first “shift” as captain was packed with action but still…
And that also brings me to Theo: at first he was like alright, laid back dude, gets the job done but the second he got promoted it’s like it flipped a switch on him especially being such an ass to Vic for absolutely no reason like ??? But at least she left him, i really liked how she pointed out that being happy for her friend does not mean she’s not supporting him (i wonder if that friendship also extends to Maya, after yk, call her a nasty person and do absolutely nothing to stand for her. Yes i will always be bitter about how everyone turned their backs on Maya).
Jack can’t seem to catch a break and God knows what’s gonna happen to him but at least he’s healthier and trying to stay out of other people’s relationships which i’m glad. I loved how Ben and Miranda where kinda there for Maya and Carina (i say kinda because it’s not like Maya had the greatest support out there but Ben did listen so that’s something. Also shout out to Diane, she’s incredible and i love whenever she appears)
Finally -because this is way too long lol- we know where we are standing in terms of Maya and Carina growing their family, for a solid minute i thought well, they are being ambiguous because it’s probably leading to that but no, it wasn’t. I wasn’t mad that they didn’t make Carina pregnant by the end of the season, if anything the scenes where they are discussing how many kids and stuff makes it so much more meaningful because Maya is obviously in such a better head space. Oh and just as a quick comment: Carina should have gone to therapy too, she needed to heal from that rocky period of time and it would have been cool to see her perspective, even if we saw sneak peaks with Vic, Miranda and Diane i believe sitting down and leading to a backstory would have been so much better.
If you got to this point i love you, i wanted to ramble a bit and finally found the moment to sit down and put this together (it’s a bit all over the place, just like my brain but bare with me). Catch you on season 7🤍

The difficulty of proper academic comportment, dress, and relationships
As a female academic I am held to a very different standard to male academics in regards to physical appearance and this has only become more true as I've gone from undergrad to graduate student. At this point, I have to essentially dress for a job interview all the time, which luckily is quite natural for me as I've always preferred business casual clothes but moreover makeup and a splash of perfume and jewelry have also become staples. This is further complicated by the fact I don't have a full length mirror in my room, so dressing has become more difficult. Furthermore, as my goal is to become a professor, I need to think of my appearance and comportment in a very pragmatic way so as to further my chances.
I recently read an Economist article titled ' The Economics of Thinness' and it very poignantly made the case that being thinner, especially for women, raises employment outcomes and pay. I have always been on the larger side, never obese or even seeming as big as I really am. I swam competitively and I still lift weights and play several sports and at 5ft 8, my weight is quite well distributed. Most people would guess I weight 160-170lbs just on the edge of a healthy BMI but I in fact am 200lbs, well within the overweight BMI category. Since starting my PhD I've lost some weight and gained quite a bit of muscle from thrice weekly lifting sessions to deal with the stress alongside skipping breakfasts and sometimes lunches due to being busy but either way I'm larger than is economically ideal. Since I've lost weight I've noticed a social shift as well. Another great article is by Alana Massey titled 'You're Right, I Didn't Eat That' where she discusses the social benefits of thinness and her own need to maintain her thinness. She examines her own behaviour as half pragmatism and half pathology, making clear that it is not effortless, as I think so many of us assume when we see other women with prominent clavicles and flat stomachs. I feel I'm also in the same semi-pathological state occasionally, I need to go to the gym or get 10 000 steps but I don't need breakfast other than a coffee and splash of milk. Again, I'm not that thin yet but I'm working my way towards it, not because I hate my body or have self esteem issues (although I'd be lying if I said that those don't also factor in) but because I love what I do and I want to do it for a living. If I need to never eat breakfast again for my field I'd do it in a heartbeat. It doesn't help that I'm quite a competitive person and have been trying to get back into swimming again as I have free access to my university pool... Another issue is clothes, makeup, and jewelry. I've been updating all of these things as I want to seem sophisticated and intelligent as well as attractive. This Christmas I'm treating myself to some very nice jewelry and lipsticks, which are extremely expensive, and I keep a collection of perfume samples. Eventually I should buy a full size perfume of my choosing as I actually wear perfume most days now but it is all so very expensive!!! Same thing with clothes, I either need to take clothes in or buy new clothes as I've lost weight but its quite expensive for a student!
Dating is another aspect of my life which is important but frustrating. I would like to be married and have a child before my mid 30s. I have a long time sure but due to my commitment to my career and studies I've never been in a committed relationship. Even now that I'm actively looking to date, I get overwhelmed by my nerves and emotions and basically decide that dating is not worth the hassle due to fear. Academia also complicates the idea of having a partner as I will go all over the world for my job and whoever I'm with should support that and be willing to help and while a lot of women will do that for their men, the same can't be said for most men.
Anyways, in all of these things I think I'm headed down the right roads I just need to keep to the course and commit myself to them. I'm planning on starting swimming 4-5 times a week once I get off break so hopefully that will work out.
Thanks for reading x.
Hon.E

faliiiiinnnnnnnn
Falin!
How I feel about this character: it's actually kinda funny upon further reflection that she's one of my favorite characters. because I reread dungeon meshi a lot (just random chapters) to try and absorb the dialogue and she's barely present? Obviously, she haunts the text, and chimera!Falin shows up pretty regularly, but her herself? barely there! mostly post-canon! she rocks though to be clear.
I think what I like most about her is how the person viewing her subtly shapes what we expect from her. I remember being somewhat surprised she was so cordial with her parents still, as Marcille was, because even though Laios acknowledged the possibility of her not being as strongly affected by their upbringing, I didn't actually believe that would be the case. I enjoy that all of her loved ones have these lens on that mean you do get to see Falin, but almost always through these curtains of bias first. I don't know what it means for me that part of why I like her is because of getting to peel back that curtain every so often. LMAO
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Farcille, for starters, which I won't dwell on. basically everyone loves it. LET'S TALK OTHER STUFF!!!!
if I had a nickel for every time I wrote Asivia falling for a lady despite being at Laios' court in post-canon presumably to 'try again', I'd have two nickels. this is becoming a funny trend. anyway won't mention the other fic but I have this general idea for Asivia having an interest in dragoness Falin that no one really picks up on because I like mess. I still don't really know if I want the interest to be reciprocated or not. but I think Asivia is neat. I support women trying to get money out of guys, even if said guy is my fave. enough about Laios though. in terms of attraction, I think it's mostly a matter of beauty and power as the starting point. that might sound not genuine, but I think the draw of the power part of Falin is a fascination with the freedom she now represents and embodies. I dunno though, I've basically invented Asivia in my head.
there's also Rin, which I can only express this way
no one sees my vision though
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Laios (I wish good big brothers were real) of course. Marcille also. I think those are the main ones. That isn't to diminish her bond with any other character, just OTP is a big weighty term to me and those are the dynamics I've dwelled on the most. I should change that though bc Chilchuck calling her strange (if I recall right) in his relationship map (or hers?) was funny to me. you did all that for a girl you think is weird? aight, grump grump
My unpopular opinion about this character: she should have killed more people actually-
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: my dream... my sole dream... is a random ass bonus thing that's 'Falin's traveling journal' a la Senshi's journal and we get to see countries in the dungeon meshi world that weren't named and life is good. life is so good. my final message. gootbye

Scott pilgrim has an incredibly niche and dedicated fanbase and they were stoked for an anime series. Edgar Wright also very clearly thinks of this project as his baby (and Brian O’Malley, especially since he was the creator of it all.) I don’t think they were ever going to let it fail. Especially since they waited so long to do this AND the entire original movie cast basically signed on to do it asap.
The CE turned hater whatevers are hilarious to me at times because 25 losers on tumblr who spend 24/7 stalking his flights and soba noodle prices should have realized that a lot of Scott pilgrim fans also enjoy Lucas lee and a lot of ppl were pleasantly surprised he’d turned up to do this again.
I think Chris has a decent fan base in the comic book crowd (primarily for his Steve portrayal but also the random other things he’s done like Scott P, the losers, fantastic four, etc.) he has a whole fanboy fan base too and those guys are likely the ones tuning in to watch his Netflix movies (lol). One of my guy friends is a huge CE fan - he loves him and Ryan Gosling and the guy literally said one of his all time favs was Chris in the perfect score (LOL). He’s like “I’ve always liked him and his cap trilogy is the best in the MCU and he has a great Ass.” This guy is your standard football watching Vegas hopping guy who will watch stuff like the gray man but probably won’t care to follow up on people magazine lol.
Point blank there actually are a lot of men who admire Chris and his assets (LOL) and they tend to be typical dude crowd. Chris has that ability to appeal to nerds, comic book geeks, women, basic betches, teenage girls, and grown ass men. I think that’s a very special thing.
Say what you want about him but I think more people are upset he’s not doing better movies post MCU than whoever he is dating. Which means - if he starts doing more projects that get people excited you will see more people tuning in for him.
Just my two cents.
Oh 100%!! I love that Edgar Wright was true to Brian’s original creation. The cast, script, director, and animators did amazing! Bringing back the original cast was the cherry on top. They jived really well and it shows.
Those “fans” are seriously just whatever. This is the last ask I’m going to do on the subject. Ignore the trolls. If you give a mouse a cookie! Anyways, Scott Pilgrim has a solid fan base so it was always going to do well.
Ghosted wasn’t great by any stretch of the imagination. I enjoyed it and watched it more than once. But I will say it didn’t crack my top 10 of his projects. He did well. The script sucked. But I also think the role should have went to someone much younger. I don’t know, is Jaeden Martell or Finn Wolfhard too young? Maybe Jacob Elordi or that other kid, Noah Centineo? It wasn’t believable as a “38” year old man personably.
Chris has a wide fan base that expands past women. I promise you. My dad has became a fan 😂 I love when he tells me about one of his movies and says, you would like it and I’m just like, uh huh. Yeah. He did say he wants to watch him be a detective and wants him in a western. So random. That man has watched many of his movies and not by my influence.
Chris has a universal appeal. And I think a lot of his fans want more from him. So many of us will support all of his projects, but don’t dumb us down. Give us good projects to work with. But we can’t deny that there are fans, like myself, who are a fan of him as well. No, I didn’t ever buy into this Prince Charming that Disney sold us, but I also can’t say I haven’t been disappointed in the past year. Am I “mad” at him? Nope. Just want more and better for him.

I really really want to like the wheel of time show but
(negativity under a read more)
I am really frustrated by how the show is handling race and gender. I appreciate the increased and explicitly racial diversity. But the colorism of the most evil characters in the show having the darkest skin is only slightly better this season than last.
While the women are more complex, I feel like 30 years after the books, the women are actually weaker than in the books and it breaks my heart to see it. instead of powered by rage, Nynaeve the most powerful channeler is just…useless at channeling most of the time. And she doesn’t lead well. Basically what does she do. And changing it from angry to angry or afraid feels diminishing to me. Look at the scared girl. Especially since she’s almost never able to use her power. And choosing Lan over going through the arch also infuriated me. The person who is full of rage and power and dedication and can heal so well basically tags along and is in love and I hate it. I understand people mock the braid tugging and low cut dresses for good reason but at least she was a badass. Moiraine is literally depowered and sad most of the season. She isn’t leading, she isn’t planning, she isn’t powerful she’s mopey and weak. Lanfear is not clever and her scheme is basically try sleeping with him. Her power is only that she can come back from being stabbed thanks to the Dark One. We don’t even get to see her contrive a meet cute. (Also why does she wear black?) That she turned to the Dark One because of ambition and brilliance and science is turned to no she liked a guy and got rejected, when the books clearly acknowledged she was basically using that as an excuse.
why does the evil woman have to hate men after being a rape survivor???
also, the lack of drawl/southern or Texas accent for the society enslaving people. It’s such a good comment removed (also the light skinned dessert people…)
And while I support changes to make a coherent, tv, modern story, in addition to changes above there are several this is not my wheel of time and my beloveds changes/moments for me (the he would not fucking say that)
Min working with the dark side. Mat not comforting Egwene. everything with Perrins love life. I don’t like Faile or their romance but the whole dead wife in love with Egwene thing is annoying to me. Egwene killing. Egwene not being good at school. (She’s a gunner.) the way the collars work. That it’s a one to one bond that breaks if the suldam dies, that the distinction is weaker versus stronger not those who can learn versus the innate spark. The downfall of the Seanchan empire is not seeded. The three oaths aren’t named, and the one power is regularly used as a weapon and to kill, especially by Moiraine. And I overall feel the white tower, Aes sedai, and oaths while being more heavily featured are not explained so the Whitecloaks view of them as dangerous is more supported and the betrayals of paths hit less hard. Very curious how tv only people understand all of that.
also curious how tv only view the whitecloaks. I’m concerned Dain Bornhald may be combined with Galad and we don’t see the insidious appeal of what is at heart an evil group, or understand why they are evil and not just a few bad apples. ..
Also very curious how tv only people view the prophecies or understand the Dragon. Do they understand the fear of the work being broken?
anyway all of that makes me sad because the show is pretty and it’s trying and I do think adaptions should make changes and I was always going to be annoyed by some but these feel like they fundamentally don’t get the nuance of the world or the power of my favorite characters. (In contrast, changes that annoy me but don’t actually matter: ok fine Lanfear can wear black. Closing your eyes to channel.)
there are things I like! There are changes I like! I think combining characters makes a lot of sense. I honestly wish cadsuane were written out but if she won’t be introducing her a lot sooner as a concept is great. Having Nynaeve spend time as a novice makes sense. Alanna as a character and her development. More warders with personalities. Fewer Foresaken. Recognizing a hero of the horn as a friend. Combining some of the books journeys. More time with Elyas.
just. Feeling very frustrated because I want to be like there’s my blorbos and be happy.

Okay, so I’ve been reading this fucking book, The End of Eternity by Isaac Asimov and I finally finished it …
Listen, it’s not really my thing. Not that sci-fi isn’t my thing, but I’m not sure this kind of sci-fi is up my alley. And why are male writers so weird about women so often?
That’s not the point. The point is…I assume you’re trying to tell me something with this. That you’re trying to say that this somehow holds the answers.
I’m going to assume also that it doesn’t hold all the answers. That it’s more of a…nudge in the right direction. A shorthand for you to use to try and easily explain complicated shit to me.
You know, you’d think Birdie would’ve been able to figure something out like this, right? Presumably they’ve also read books.
Anyway. The End of Eternity. It’s about time travel. Or, well, not time travel, but—actually, there is literal time travel, in these things called kettles but it’s not time travel the way we think about time travel, you know, it’s—
Let me start over. There’s this guy, Andrew Harlan, he’s the main character, and he works for this god-like organization called “Eternity” that basically…alters reality to make humans suffer less. But they can only go back in time so far because the technology to go upwhen and downwhen—that’s what they call going up and down the…timeline, I guess, which I think is sort of cute actually—so, yeah, they can only go back in time so far because that technology was only invented in the 27th century, and they can only go so far forward because after a certain point, the world is just…empty. And they don’t really know why.
So, yeah. There’s that. And Harlan brings Nöys—that’s this woman that he falls in love with when he’s in a certain time and that time is supposed to be altered, so she’s going to disappear—or, the version he knows of her is going to disappear, she’s going to change because of the way that Eternity is going to alter reality and he’s you know, falling in love with her and he doesn’t want her to change so he brings her on a kettle to one of those empty centuries to hide her from Eternity and keep her safe, keep her trapped in amber.
Which…well, listen, I have a lot of thoughts about that, but I’m not here to get into what Asimov is saying about women or being in love or any of that. I’m here to try to understand what the hell you want me to get out of this.
I haven’t time traveled. I’m not in some kind of far, distant future after humanity has ceased to exist, because everything’s the same, just minus all the people. If I’m living in the Hidden Centuries, why do they look the same and how did I get here?
At the end of the book…well, it turns out that Nöys isn’t exactly who she said she was, surprise surprise, and she and Harlan have this stand-off. She’s from a version of time that also had time travel, but not Eternity, so they had lots of different futures instead of just the one that Eternity would always be making by altering reality. That’s Eternity’s big thing—that’s what people like Harlan would do. They would go to different times and do different things so that Eternity could perfectly shape the history and the future of the world in the way they thought it should be shaped. But Nöys…her time didn’t do that—they came about the technology a different way and saw things differently. And she tries to convince Harlan that that’s the better way to do things and I guess he does get convinced because all of a sudden, something in reality changes and the kettles disappear, so it turns out that Eternity never happened—oh, they have this stand-off in the 30s—the 1930s—somehow, so it’s before Eternity is invented and Harlan choosing not to kill Nöys in the 1930s prevents the future from ever happening and so Eternity isn’t created. I think. And the book closes with “the end of eternity, the beginning of infinity” which is a nice sounding phrase, but I’m not sure it means anything.
I’m not sure any of this means anything. Trying to explain it out loud, I feel like a total crackpot. What, exactly, am I supposed to be gleaning from all of this? [click, static]

Your theories really give me hope (which I’m very afraid to receive). But if we imagine that everything is really like this and they are playing a show for us, wouldn’t it be too cruel for them? Being with someone else and playing love for a long time, do they still have time for each other in this whole show? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of it all? They could have just stayed together in secret if that's what they wanted. And also isn't it cruel to their partners? Okay, I can see how Travis benefits from this, but Gabbriette? She is the one who follows Matty, not the other way around, like Travis, why does she need this?
If this is really some kind of show, what is its purpose then? For now they're just satisfying the haters.
I'd really like to believe that Matty and Taylor have a future and that they'll find their way back in the end, but to me right now it seems like they've both just moved on (I'd love to be proven wrong!)
With full acknowledgment that this theory is a bit… bold, please remember the "never-ending commitment to the bit" aspect of kayfabe, because it is, perhaps, the most important.
Is it cruel for actors to kiss during a stage performance or while shooting a film? Everyone involved knows that it is a performance. It is a "massively collaborative theatrical universe", after all. That means that everyone involved has signed on to do this. No one is actually getting hurt by anything that is going on, and they all stand to greatly benefit if this theory is true and ends up being revealed. Being a part of a collaborative effort like this could catapult everyone's careers much more than a basic PR relationship would.
Yes, they have to spend time apart. But these are professional musicians who travel the world for work. They know the pain of having to be separated from loved ones. Maybe it's because I'm an elder millennial, but I don't think it's that hard to be physically separated from one's partner for a few weeks, especially not with current technology. There's a lot of very strange speculation I've seen online about how there's no way Matty could stay committed while on tour, as if Adam and George aren't also rockstars in a band with serious partners they're devoted to. Further, if this truly is kayfabe, then it has been planned for years in advance.
Yes, they would still have time for each other in this whole 'show'. Probably a lot of it. I suspect that not all photos or videos are posted exactly at the moment they are taken. They help move the narrative along or help place each person in time and space, regardless of whether they are actually physically there. If you're headed to NYC, it might be helpful to establish yourself in LA instead. If people will stalk you on social media anyway, then why not use it to your advantage? Social media isn't real life, not even for non-celebrities - it's all a carefully manicured version of one's life.
I don't agree that Matty and Taylor are merely satisfying their haters right now. I think they're satisfying a great many fans who are basking in the romance of it all - those sweet Instagram likes or matching letterman jackets.
So, what are they up to? What I can tell you is that their priority certainly isn't putting the few supporters they have out of their misery by just simply getting back together. And they would not participate in kayfabe for shits and giggles, either. I don't personally bother with the minutiae of their relationships or daily lives, and if it upsets you, you shouldn't either! I very much want Taylor and Matty to end up together (genuinely, anyone with hearing should root for this outcome). But if I'm dead wrong and it never happens again, then I understand exactly why. 'Peace' spells it all out. But why simply roll over and let the media dictate the narrative around your chosen partner when you're one of the most powerful women in the world?
The clues are all there to be discovered and they point to one common enemy who has tried to destroy their lives and relationships (no, it's not the fans). I don't want to have to spell every little thing out, though. Instead, I'll leave you with another fun quote from Brad Troemel:
"Because everyone thinks that screaming at their parasocial bestie is the most effective punishment for doing something they didn't like, it winds up drowning out any individual voice into one uniform wall of digital rage. Micro-celebrities' fear of experiencing this rage is what leads to audience capture, where 'besties' feel locked into permanently performing the version of themselves they understand their audience to always want them to be. The only way to avoid audience capture is for besties to periodically burn down their own platform to establish a new set of audience expectations."
…and Taylor promised that the Reputation vault would be "fire"

ohhhh it's tng update time. i have a lot to catch up on. wednesday we did "ensign ro" and "silicon avatar" and last night we did "disaster" and "the game."
a brief interruption to amend an error on my previous tng liveblog concerning the episode "redemption." i did NOT mention the part where data got his own command and the first officer was racist to him about it. my brain was so numbed by klingon happenings - and again, they're fine episodes, it was MYYY fault for watching both of those episodes at once AND the second one with a bad connection (we had to reconnect like 1000000 times), but due to this i did straight up forget about data's role here. my thoughts are: this could and should have been the a plot of an entire episode, not the b plot of worf's episode. this late in the game, you kind of run the risk of data's big episodes becoming too same-y - that usually what happens is that someone is misguided or prejudiced in their beliefs about him and are in the end proven wrong - but i think the first command is different enough to be distinct. data building genuine trust with his actions and not his words would have been really fun!! especially if he models his captaining like he does his art - by picking bits and pieces of his real-life examples, like riker & picard. it's a shame they wasted this on a b-plot :(
ANYWAY.
ensign ro: i have to admit i wasnt sure about my girl ro at first. i absolutely support her cause and her beliefs but there was one part where. and i dont remember specifics because this was on wednesday. they like asked her to do something and she didn't and i support her but GIRL if you fuck around and dont do your job they will send you back to space jail. so i was worried that she was stupid in like the literal sense
fortunately she fucking RULES. i liked the part where bev and deanna were like can we sit down :D and she was like no <3 and they had to leave. but i also liked guinan getting through to her and becoming her friend too. i think ro should kiss some women about it (more on this later)
i was kind of bummed riker wasnt the one to let her put her earring back on since he was the dick who made her take it off, but at least she did get to put it back on. i was soooo mad when he made her remove it
LOVE to find out more about the cardassians. i'm excited for that freaky guy and the dr he wants to fuck in ds9, this feels like a real prelude moment
also, love the barber in this episode. in a world where they no longer have to even cook food, haircutting is miraculously still done by hand
silicon avatar: i had a lot of mixed feelings about/issues with this one initially but the ending ultimately took it into watchable territory on account of it popping the fuck off
biggest issue is that they basically retconned the hell out of the first episode this crystal monster was in (the iconic datalore aka "ARE YOU PREPARED FOR THE KIND OF DEATH YOU'VE EARNED LITTLE MAN")
in that ep lore was DEFINITELY able to communicate with it without all the drama and he also communicated enough with it to be like "hey, if you don't eat me, i can show you where lots of edible people are" which solves the question of it's intelligent and whether or not it understands it's eating people. the fact that were uwu woobifying this giant people eating death machine is hilarious but also it stretches my suspension of disbelief way too far. like, get outta here.
second biggest issue was the emotional whiplash from this old lady. first she's racist to data and then she wants to butter him up for therapy reasons and finally she's delusional enough to believe her dead son is in there. i actually did like her arc and the idea that she did something monstrous, but it felt like we had too many things crammed in there...again, i love data and i love when data gets big episodes and moments but i wish we could pump the brakes a little with EVERYONE who meets him being anti android or whatever. even the episode where he gets a gf was a welcome change despite it not being very good because it wasn't just more people having doubts because data is an android. and if I'M tired of it, imagine how HE feels. geez. there was no point in having her start from a place of hostility when it didn't go anywhere and actually i probably would have been more tricked into believing she was normal if she HADN'T come at data like that
THAT SAID, the core story of "i will murder this sentient life form because it killed my son even knowing he would hate me for it" is actually metal as fuck. i really liked it. and i think it was sneaky and clever to have her basically ask to use data as a tape recorder before she fully fell off the deep end because who wouldn't want to hear a recording of a deceased loved one? but it's when she asks again, and basically asks data to roleplay him, that you realize her grief is making her bonkers - or that being around data is bringing too much stuff up.
anyway issues aside the end really fucked. she was like data absolve me of the murder i just committed in my dead son's name and he was like sorry queen i can't! and then they just rolled credits. bonkers.
also, can we pour one out for riker? he got uh. i mean he had all of that going on with beverly like just a handful of episodes ago and i was SOOO hoping he was gonna get laid but instead he got. trauma :(
disaster: i LOVED this one. i loved that it paired characters we don't normally see together - like geordi and beverly for instance - and i loved that quite literally everyone got to get up to batshit insane shenanigans at the same time. picard has to learn to interact with the world's most adorable children. deanna is captain of the starship and she should kiss ro about it. geordi and beverly are gonna open the cargo bay to space some radioactive barrels and while they're holding onto a metal ladder with their BARE HANDS. riker is carrying DATA'S DETACHED HEAD around the crawlspaces and meanwhile in ten forward worf is delivering a fucking baby
side bar which uh exit do we think klingon babies come out of. like if they've got two of everything does the baby just pick one or do they have two whole wombs too...do you think klingons are like "oh most of us come out of the right side but watch out for that guy he's fucked in the head i think he came out of his mom's left vagina" i think that'd be hilarious
anyway worf did a great job.
also pleased with the kids this ep...normally star trek kids aren't uh. great. like they're annoying or weird or just not great actors because, you know, kids. but all 3 of those kids had distinct personalities and they were all extremely charming. absolutely masterful casting. they were so fucking cute
idk why but when deanna became enterprise captain she immediately looked 10x hotter and gayer. her disagreements with ro were FRAUGHT with sexual tension. THEY SHOULD KISS.
that said my one true pairing for tng is always gonna be riker e worf e deanna. hands down best moment for these three so far was when riker was like you just cant stay away from the big chair can you ;) and she was like oh im not cut out to be a captain but maybe i could be first officer since i HEAR there aren't many qualifications and worf gives riker this incredulous double-take like "are you gonna let her get away with that" and he's grinning like oh yeah he's Gonna. there truly is such a horrific lack of sexual/romantic energy in this show but whenever deanna and riker start flirting we finally get fed
the game: MY BABY BOY WESLEY IS BACK..........he got tall i MISSED HIM
i loved the opening of this episode. riker seems to have a 50/50 chance these days on whether or not any given encounter with a woman is gonna be an ethical slut moment or a close encounters moment and i am now referring to this phenomenon as riker roulette. is he getting ethically seduced and/or ethically seducing others? or is it....................you know. anyway rip to him for metaphorically bringing an std back to the enterprise from risa
what was this whole thing with deanna eating chocolate also. is all of season 5 gonna be like this? to be clear i'm not complaining. we have a fucking dearth of, sorry, flirty fun and fresh shippy moments for anyone in tng, generally speaking. it's about time they picked up.
my one gripe with this episode is that it is REALLY AWKWARD to have them set this up as "this VR headset is giving people orgasms" and then twice have wesley's mom try and force one on him. like they didn't say orgasms but the subtitles kept going "pleasured gasp" so idk what i was supposed to think those headsets were doing. like i get this was probably unintentional on their part but i still hated it
also it sucks that wesley got to have a little tea break with picard but didn't have time to hang out with his mom...she was barely in his departure episode, too. the writers clearly prioritize his relationship with picard BECAUSE WESLEY IS THEIR AFFAIR BABY! i will die on this hill. those guys fucked and had a baby and got embarrassed abuot it and now wesley doesn't know he's going to inherit male pattern baldness
okay. that concludes this tng update. normally this is the part where i say, "next, we are doing..." and then i list the episodes. i want to take an extra moment to bring added attention to it this time because this time we are doing two VERY. SPECIAL. EPISODES.
NEXT: UNIFICATION PART I AND PART II
NEXT: SPOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#personal#star trek blogging#tng lb#TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#actually for me it's tomorrow. i typed this it at like 4am before bed and scheduled it. i might even still be asleep right now who knows#but when this posts: TONIGHT!!!!!!#earlier just the thought of seeing spock again so soon had me welling up. embarrassing.#i've been looking forward to and dreading this for so long#we're going in release order so after we watch these eps and one more it's undiscovered country#and then that'll be the last of leonard nimoy's spock i haven't seen finally done#and there will be no new leonard nimoy spock for me ever again :(#sorry to quinto and who tf ever in strange new worlds but they just can't compare.#like of course i can rewatch star trek as many times as i like. and i have rewatched it So Many Times#but in some very tiny way this will be saying goodbye to him and i just can't bear the thought#AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Feb 2023
helo!!! we are 3 months into 2023, and wow has it been a ride. the last time i posted, i had been broken up with and was processing the grief. i wanted to reflect on that a little more before i update you on the next things that have happened.
januarys retrograde sucked! or at least that’s what i thought at the moment. i am SO happy things happened the way they did, and that i was let go instead of staying in an awkward relationship that i convinced myself could somehow work. let me list the weird things i now am happy i left behind. 1. lack of sexual discipline. i’m all about sexual positivity, but there is definitely a line that cannot be crossed. fantasizing about weird sexual topics (incest?!) is fucking weird. 2. unrealistic goals. i’m all about supporting people, and i understand that not everyone has similar career timelines, but having unrealistic goals for yourself with things you aren’t even good at was a bit painful to see. i was the funny one basically. 3. couldn’t make me cum. okay, selfish some might say, but damn! couldn’t at least pick up a book or something? 4. mom. okay, your mom was hot and i’ll miss her. you had a terrible relationship with her which should have been a red flag. especially when you physically let out your anger. that’s the list so far that i can think of. basically, i did charity work. i’m not entirely bad bc i got to learn so much about myself and others during this short period of time. my mom asked what happened. i told her things were off, and our personalities weren’t a good match. i’m embarrassed that i brought him over for christmas, especially when he did nothing but complain about the food and games we played with my family. the gift he told me he didn’t even pick out, then later blamed the effort put on my birthday instead. what the fuck? lmao. my mom believes i was used for my body, and warned me to not let other men easily let me give myself up again. i can tell she really didn’t like him, i would’ve appreciate a heads up or something. my best friend also shared similar sentiment. her first issue was when he asked me about having an open relationship, something i would never imagine myself doing as a strictly monogamous person, which i let him know. i believe the desire to explore sexually also let to the breakup, which would make more sense than blaming my physical appearance. an introvert and extrovert aren’t a good “opposites attract” story like people say. anyways, it’s march and things have been awesome. but first let me talk about February.
on the second half of january, i focused on reflecting and healing. i had my therapy sessions and rants with online friends about the issue. their validation helped me tremendously. i will admit that it was easy for me to move on so quickly because i 1. convinced myself to like this person, even as a friend and 2. i didn’t allow myself to fall in love with them. my gut feeling did NOT let me, which im extremely grateful for now that i look back. the negative traits outshined the positive. the main obstacle i was getting past was the attachment, for example, no longer having someone to check in on.
in february, i sat with the idea of possibly dating again, even if it was just for casual hookups. i mentioned this in a jokingly way to my best friend, and she suggested that i download hinge. i decided to download it in the beginning of february, and set up my profile the first day. i had previously known about the number of men that outnumber women, so i was aware that i might have an influx of folks. and i was right! i met some people that were fun to talk to, but things didn’t go anywhere. and i met others that felt like i was talking at a job interview, asking them questions without them asking any questions about me. i went on my first hinge date feb 10 i believe, and it wasn’t as terrible as i thought it could be. the guy pulled up in a cowboy fit, which was interesting. possibly going through a manic episode. he paid for our food, which i insisted on helping with, and didn’t suggest doing anything sexual which was pretty nice of him. i wouldn’t have minded it, but it was also interesting to see what religious ppl do instead of hooking up. we stopped talking about three days after the date, mostly bc of his inconsistency and lack of desire to go on a second date (yet wanted to keep texting?) i told my best friend we’d hop on and start swiping again on monday. from monday to wednesday, i focused on ppl that had sent me likes instead of sending them myself. priority shipping if you will. there were def some interesting characters in the mix. i will admit that i focused more on people that replied to my prompts, as we’d have something to talk about. on monday i swiped on a guy that questioned the mcdonald’s rewards system, which i was suspicious about. from mom-wed, i kept up with the conversations i had (around 5?) but noticed only one stood out, one person that kept up with my dumb shit. he asked me out on a date tht wednesday, and we went with the bit and went to mcdonalds. i drove to the location and arrived about 10 minutes after leaving home. i was nervous, mainly bc all this guys pics looked kind of different, but fuck it. i parked and called, and his voice as HOT AS FUCK. a teardrop fell down my ear but i knew i couldn’t let my horniness succumb my ability to form a relationship. pulled up, and HOLY FUCK this guy was cute/hot/handsome/WOW. first thing i thought was holy shit, his pics didn’t do him justice (but hey, that means more fer me). we get our food and talk for about an hour. our date last around 3-4 hours, and then we go inside his car bc it was really windy and cold outside. there, we do more talking and find out more things about ourselves. he told me about a person he had recently ended things with due to various reasons, and i stood there wide eyed as i realized i would be nothing like that person. as we talk more, he ask for a kiss, and my whore brain automatically turns on and goes YIPPEE! but i act cool 😎 and lean in. WOAH was it hot. we pull away, look at eachother, and then do some more kissing. i stop to laugh because we’re literally still at the mcdonald’s parking lot. i ask if maybe we could take the car elsewhere, and he mentions he could take us back to his place. WOWOWJWPWAHJ instant gushing from my coochie. i was so sex deprived and borderline desperate that i eagerly agreed. my sex drive is high, which i mentioned, and he told me his was too. typical for a man, heh. fast forward, we hook up and dudes pussy whipped. pulled out the old tricks in the book and wowed him. he asked what my bc was, since apparently i seemed seasoned. i told him, and asked what his was. double digits?! HARLOT! but guy laid pipe really fucking good so i guess i’m glad i got to meet the seasoned veteran. so this was in february (2/22) angels numbers, woaaaa
about three days after we see each other, he tells me that he plans on deleting binge, and that he likes me. i’m like WOWIE, tht was fast. ff to 2/26, and i ask if he’d like to be in a relationship with me, to which he quickly replies “yes” to. waooo. i will have to make a second post for march, keep ya updated!

One where your just a normal uni student who is dating mason you go to his latest game to find out a few ig models have been gifted tickets (which they have tonight) and they have mason set in their sights. He sees you after the match and knows something is wrong so you explain and he makes it known it’s you he wants
You Make Me Human| Mason Mount
fluff fluff fluff (I haven't proof read so plz don't judge<3)
Burb: Basically explained in there request but, Y/n feels insecure after coming to terms with the fact she doesn't to compare to the models that are after her boyfriend, but not only does mason reassure her, he opens up about how any silly model could never compare to her in his eyes.
notes: I loved writing this! and also IM BACK I haven't posted anything for weeks, but I forgot how much writing for you guys helps my mental health! thank you for all the notes and follows and anyone that just supports, you guys will never know how much appreciate it. Corny lol.
Warnings: none just lots of mason fluff <3
You were sat in a Chelsea blue stadium chair, somewhere you found yourself most days you had off. Wrapped up in a thick puffer coat with one of masons old jerseys underneath, not that anyone could see it, but you considered it a good luck charm. You felt the most happiest watching the little blue dot that was mason run around a pitch for 90 minutes, you felt as though you could watch him play for hours and never get bored.
It was a normal Thursday, you probably should be a home finishing your university work, but you wanted to take a break and be anywhere where mason was.
Although, your attention would usually set on the match in-front of you, you couldn’t help but notice the gorgeous women in front of you. They were taking photos of each other in their Chelsea merchandise for what looking like their social medias, paying no attention to the game below, just their phones.
You usually dont pay attention to these things, but when one of them started talking about how she was going to sleep with the mason mount at this party after the match, you felt the blood boil in your veins.
Once the match had ended you and your sister, who had came to keep you company, made you way down to the family room where you sipped some free wine and waited for the team to get change and come join you. The thing is about the family room was it was less of a family room and more like a vip room.
You had noticed the girls from earlier in the corner with their tight leggings and rolled up Chelsea shirts showing their belly buttons and hour glass figures. There was no doubt you felt insecure around them, mason could have many of these pretty models but he settled for a dyslexic, broke, uni student.
“Y/n? Y/n? Are you even listening to me?” your sister said, clicking her finger in your face.
You wasn’t listening, your eyes were set on the girl who had “mount” and “19” on her back.
“Yeah, I am, sorry. What was you saying?” You turn your attention to your sister.
“Don’t worry, wasn’t anything interesting anyway.” She had turned so she was now standing next to you instead of in front of you, her eyes catching what had previously held captive of yours.
You watched as she thinned her eyes, glaring at the model. “Some girls have no respect, honestly. A tenner says she starts making tik tok dances in front of everyone with no shame in the next 10 minutes.”
You giggle at her comment, starting to feel slight more relaxed as you downed your free wine. You then notice some of the boys walk though the door.
“Well masons here now.” Says your sister as she notices a few of the boys walk in.
“Oh no, he won’t come in yet. He’s always the last one out, he likes to spend time on his hair.” You laugh with your sister as you patiently waited foe your boyfriend.
About 15 minutes later mason and Ben pile though the doors together, laughing loudly at something one of them had said, and it must have been really funny because the smile on masons face could light up a room. He hadn’t noticed you yet, but you watched as his eyes scanned the room for what was no doubt, you.
Once his eyes met more his pupils dilated and the sides of his mouth tugged upwards. However his smile was immediately stolen when he saw the sour look on your face, you thought you had hidden your jealousy a bit better, but obviously not.
You had been with Mason for 10 months and in that's short time Mason could read you like a book, he knew you better than you knew your self. To him you were predictable, but he felt a slight shock in the centre of his heart when he saw your face, immediately telling him something was wrong.
You once again downed you second glass of wine, causing a break in eye contact for you and mason. And when you looked back up again you saw one of the models had made her way up to your boyfriend. Her hand was on his bicep as she extravagantly laughed at whatever he was saying.
“I need another glass” you turn to your sister.
“Are you sure? You’ve already had two-“ she tuts as her eyes flicker from mason to you. “Look at him, he has no interest in those girls. What. So. Ever. Stop being insecure, because it’s you that gets to take the sexy footballer home tonight”.
You grimace at the fact she had just referred to your boyfriend as “the sexy footballer” but in no doubt she was right.
Your eyes move back to where mason was previously standing but he wasn’t there anymore.
“I’m gonna go look for-“ you turn to your sister to say, but you stop when you find what you was looking for is right next to you.
“For me?” Mason grins, as he screws back on the lid to his water bottle.
His arms warp around you as he kisses the top of your head, he could tell you was being stiff and then he knew something was definitely wrong.
“What’s up?”
“Nothing”
“Doesn’t look like nothing to me”
You didn’t have time to reply before a couple girls come over to talk to mason. You sisters eyes widened as she immediately realises what’s going to happen here.
“Hey mase, are you coming out for drinks with us?”
She has some stupid little child voice on, you wanted nothing more than to punch her, not only for calling him ‘mase’ but for the guts on her to place her hand back on his bicep as she twirls her hair in her other hand.
“Probably not, sorry” mason jerks back, freeing his arm from her grip.
“Oh come on macey, it will be fun” she smiles.
“Yeah Macey, why don’t you go have some fun?” You couldn’t help yourself, you had said it then stormed off. You head mason call you name from behind you but you carried on walking.
The plan was to just grab your sister, who had some how slipped away from you, and go. You wanted to be any where other then in this room.
When you spotted your sister she was with ben, since when did she know ben?
You walked over, refusing to make eye contact with either of the pair. “We’re going.”
“What?” Her and ben both said in sync.
“Why? You said we were staying for the after party?” She winned.
“Yeah, well, plans change. Get your shit were going.”
“Y/n? What did you do?”
“I didn’t do anything” you reply, with an emphasis’ on the ‘I’.
“Can you just hurry up, I really want to leave” you look at you sister with pleading eyes.
She just hums and starts to put her coat on, “Can I erm, maybe get your number?” Mumbles Ben to your sister.
“What?” you say, looking ben up and down with daggers.
“Yeah of corse” you sister glares at you as she pulls her phone out.
“Oh this is not happening right now” you mumble and place you fingers on your temples.
You knew it was about time mason was going to find you, it wasn’t like this room was a maze.
“Y/n? What was that?” Asks mason as he comes to a halt next to you.
"Great" you mumble with straight lips, while you stare down you sister who is currently passing her phone to ben. Doing everything in your power to avoid creating eye contact with mason.
"Y/n?, please talk to me." mason calmly says as he grabs your arm to turn you to face him.
You could feel the gazes from ben and your sister, but your could also feel all the gazes of the gorgeous models staring at your boyfriend.
"I just want to go home-"
"Why?" mason interrupts you.
"I don't feel well." you cross your arms and stare down at the floor.
"If this is about that girl, I was never going out for dirinks I have no idea why she even said that."
"Mase, I just want to go home." you stare into your boyfriends confused eyes.
"Thats not fair y/n"
"Mase!" you scream out as his grip on your arm tightens as he's pulling you out of the crowded room and into a quiet hall way.
You sigh as you place your back up agains the wall, you don't think you can handle it anymore. You're nothing other than a in debt uni student, you don't compare to any of these models that want to be with your boyfriend.
"Whats this about then? come on then. Tell me." mason beacons you to reason with him.
You lift your back up from the wall as you stand straight, prepared to see your relationship crumble at the hands of your own insecurities.
"You really want to know? Mason just hums in response.
"Fine. I feel- I feel like there's so much pressure on me all the time, mason. Being your- being 'thee mason mounts' girlfriend is hard, Im constantly being compared to these really really pretty women, that might I add would literally fall too these knees for you-"
"And?"
"And, my point is. I don't get it ,mase. I don't get what you see in me when there's so many better options." but once again your cut off by mason.
"What you don't get is that you're what I want, y/n/n. You literally just said it yourself, I could have any of them models in there, sure. But the thing is, they don't want me, they want 'mason mount'. All of them girls in there just like the idea of being a wag, and all the publicity and attention it brings them. Them girls you're comparing yourself too, they just want to sleep with me so they can use me to social climb."
Mason takes a long breath before getting ready to say something else.
"You know, you're the first girl who hasn't looked at me like a piece of meat. You don't see 'mason mount' you see me y/n, and that's why I am so so so in love with you. You're the first girl who Ive looked at and though, "yeah, mums going to love her". And you're the only girl I've ever looked at and though ' yeah, I'm going to marry her one day'."
You couldn't see mason anymore because your vision was blurred with your tears, you hadn't realised mason made you cry until you felt the salty taste hit your lips.
"Y/n, I really want to have you in my life for as long as your have me, because- because you make me feel human."
Mason walks forward and places one of his hands on your palm, intertwining your fingers. He uses his other hand to wipe away a falling tear before placing it firmly around your waist. You lent forward to place your forehead on his.
"I love you y/n/n"
"I love you more. Mase, I'm really sorry, I hope you know I'm not going anywhere" you giggle with a few sniffles.
"I'm never letting you go anywhere."
You both stood like that for a few moments, in each-others embrace.
"mase"
"yes, my sweet"
"You make me feel human too" you pecked his lips as you both hummed a smile into each others lips.

So I finished reading Jane Eyre and god. I love that book so much. The last chapters might be some of the best. She’s like “I’m going away for maybe four days” to her cousins and the next they hear from her is a letter informing them she has married a man she has never mentioned to them before. And they’re like, “girl, good for you. Go get your problematic DILF.” Women supporting women. AND, her other cousin, the total bitch that is St John Rivers (wtf kind of name is that anyways) who was like “you must marry me. I don’t love you but you are made for labour not love. If you say no God hates you and you will go to hell etc etc” he was like “I’m going out of town and when I come back you must answer me about us being married” after she has repeatedly told him no, the next HE hears from her is a letter informing him she has married Rochester. I am dying laughing. And when Jane is walking back to Thronfield she’s like “what if I just run up and make out with Rochester when I see him? What then? I won’t haha BUT WHAT IF I DID” like in all seriousness she said “what then?” like she was some tumblr girlie shit posting. Amazing. Then when she finds out OG Mrs. Rochester has flung herself off the top of a burning building, she’s like “and died, right?” then basically turns into that James Corden wedding dress meme. THEN she gets herself over to Rochester’s house ASAP and completely girlbosses the situation beginning to end. She literally runs up the stairs to her room laughing after he asks her if she’d been living with any other men. Like, yas Jane go girl. Then the next day they go for a walk and she’s like “he sat down on a tree stump and I saw no reason why I shouldn’t sit on his knee.” Get it, girl. I’ll never forget one of my classmates, the same one who thought Poe and Rey would get together in the star war, say it was gross because it was a childlike position, sitting on his lap and I was trying to explain it was not like that it was with sexy purposeful intentions our girl Jane sat thus. Said classmate would do numbers on gen z Twitter. Anyways, while sitting on his lap, Jane lets Rochester think she’s going to marry her stupid ass cousin and he’s like “maybe you should get off my knee” and she’s like “nah I’m comfortable.” It’s what they deserve. Anyways what I like about Jane Eyre is that she gets exactly what SHE wants at the end, not what anyone else, including the concerned reader, thinks she should get or want or what is best for her. She really said “I want my problematic lying frankly weird and now destitute fella twenty years older than me, a nineteen year old” and got it and she still seems quite happy with the result ten years on so Godspeed Jane Eyre and fuck you St John who is like Mr Collins with brain cells.

BUCKLE UP BASTARDS THE CLOWN CAR IS IN GO MODE
ok i KNOW im reaching here dont tell me but
is it too out of line to say that will looking to mike for how to deal w snowball girl lowkey parallels mike looking to will for how to deal with el😭😭
like (sorry in advance for shit gifs i made them in like 5 mins flat okay)
oh dear a crisis! how should we respond to this woman???? we dont know😟😟
ah a masterplan has formed i shall take advice from my best bropal!!
that worked so well i will now follow said advice only bc they gave it to me while they look sadly on bc theyve just fucked over their own chances in the name of doing what they think is best for me (and/or others)😁😁😁
and obviously these scenarios vary A FUCK TON in how serious they are. like obviously els like straight up passing away so thats yk a lil more high stakes. but like reaction wise???
thats. they. they just naturally respond to each others 'wtf do i do' moments by reassuring each other. which is so🥰 i love them theyre so attuned to each other
BUT ALSO they react by encouraging each other to pursue straight relationships. bc when it comes to their feelings for each other theyre both fucking stupid but also very self sacrificial. obviously we see this more with will. bc like. ofc we do that boy fr hates himself like
this man is fully ready to throw out every chance possible w mike to keep the milkvan on the road. (hes literally their mechanic. like without him it wld have fully exploded and all the mouldy milk wouldve just gone all over the road and probably really screwed up the local ecosystem. ok the van analogy is going too far im so sorry back on topic.) and i think this Is definitely motivated by a care for mike and a genuine want for him to be happy (no matter who he finds that happiness with) But i think its also important to realise that mike isnt the only one with internalised homophobia.
wills insistence on mike loving el despite the fact that mike has implied otherwise to wills face several times kinda shows that wills mindset on this is partially based in the whole "he Needs to stay in his safe straight relationship bc otherwise i would have a chance (in that mike wouldnt be restrained by having a gf and thus wld be able to date other people) and that would just be so terrible and awful"
and we literally see him do this. mike is going to this man basically being like 'omg our relationship is so broken i dont think we can come back from this fight Will!! u Definitely shldnt tell me to break up w her or anything that would be so crazyyy😁😁(PLS TELL ME TO BREAK UP W HER PLS I DONT LOVE HER)' and wills just like "🙃😁yeah um u can tell her u love her when we see her again😁😁😥😥😥😥😥😥"
like i know we joke abt will being the reason melvin are together. but. he literally is. bc mike honestly seems (n maybe this is just my insane delulu interpretation) like he wants to break up w her and was looking for support on that decision from will. and els on her slay arc which is why she doesnt give a singular shit abt mikes cringe monologue. will fr the only one invested in microdickvan because hes Intentionally Sabotaging his chances w mike.
which brings me to the actual fucking parallel bc MIKE DOES THE SAME FUCKING THING AT THE SNOWBALL. he pushes will into accepting a dance w a girl bc then he doesnt have to keep thinking abt how He wants to dance w will. (and we know he does bc he and dustin are sat there with Identical 'my crush is dancing w someone else😥' faces. so like. rip to mike but his very intelligent foolproof plan of not thinking abt dancing w will absolutely flopped)
anyway both of them have the exact same 'if i push bestie into relationships w women then i will magically resolve my gay feelings and not have to confront them' mindset. i think people forget that will Does sabotage himself a lot just bc we always talk abt mikes internalised issues. like will canonically thinks of himself as a mistake and thinks he deserves to get treated like shit🙃🙃🙃
anyway this kind of makes the whole shit writing point of making will the 'sad gay boy pushing for the love of his life to have a happy straight relationship' make sense in a way that isnt totally awful. the diffused shitbags could never.
#byler#listen. this was not supposed to be this long#i just wanted to make a joke abt how the snowball and the monlogue are lowkey similar#and then i got sad abt the internalised homophobia leading to fucking urself over thing#its just#ouch#mike wheeler is gay#he literally is are u going to disagree with me#speaking of disagreeing i lowkey wanna know what u guys think of this bc im totally pulling it out of my ass but like???#i dont think its totally baseless#so#mike wheeler i know what you are#i swear so much jfc proof reading this was wild sorry abt that one guys its important for emphasis

are you going to do a 'when the haikyuu boys make you insecure' part with Iwaizumi / could I request that?
When they make you insecure part 6 (Iwaizumi,Matsukawa)
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6
Word Count: 2.8K
Genre: Angst, Fluff
masterlist
AN: Did I embedd myself in this story? Yes, yes i did. :3 (it’s only a small part dw loool)
Iwaizumi
One day when you were walking to the gym to go see your boyfriend
You overhear him and the team talking about some instagram girl
“She’s hot” you hear Boktuo yell doing a hoot as he fawns over a picture, with the rest of the guys agreeing.
“What do you think Iwaizumi?” Hinata ask
“She’s cute... I guess?” the rest of the guys, grunt in disagreement at Iwa’s lack of drooling over the girl.
“Well I see why you wouldn’t want her Haji-kun,” says Atsumu “you are into the more simple girls bro”
“Simple?” Iwaizumi questions, and the rest of the guys agree
“Yeah simple, you know Y/N... she’s simple” says one of the guys, with the word ‘simple’ rolling off their tounge with a tone of disgust.
“I guess your right guys...” Iwaizumi says “Y/N is pretty basic and simple but-”
You leave the gym before you hear what the rest of them had to say. When you got to your house you bolt straight to the mirror, you look at your outfit and frown. You never thought your style was ‘basic,’ to be fair you wouldn’t describe anybodys style as basic or simple. Of course, you weren’t like those instagram influencers, that wasn’t your thing. But Iwa has known that about you for years... but I guess that’s not what he truly likes.
You go to your closet and take out all the contents, just tossing all your clothes (even some of your favourite items ever) and dashing them in a black trash bag putting them to the side. You were already on a mission to buy a whole new wardrobe, going through all different stores and looking on pinterest for inspo.
You didn’t really talk to Iwa for the rest of the week, since you wanted him to see you in your ‘new form,’ you weren’t being radiosilent but you didn’t initiate any hang outs with him or face time calls (which he did find slightly odd, but didn’t think that much by it.)
Finally, the clothes came and you were kind of shocked at how much you ordered you spent over £200 on clothes from all different places. When you were trying them on, you liked some of them the ones that were kind of similar to your past style but not so ‘simple,’ the others you kind of frowned at since it definitely didn’t feel like ‘you’ at all. ‘This is for Iwa,’ you reminded yourself as your forced a smile on your face analysing yourself in the mirror.
You had everything sorted, your wardrobe was now changed and done the colours and styles you once wore before is now the complete opposite. You invited Iwa over, hesistantly waiting to see how would he react.
When you hear your door knock, you rush over to open it and model a pose you saw one of those girl do trying to look as natural as possible.
“Hey babe ho-” he says, with his eyes widening seeing your new look “Woah Y/N!”
“Hey Haji..come in!” you exclaim with a beaming smile pulling him inside to the couch. “So, are we going to continue watching the crown, I watched the previous episode and god prince phillip is such a dick.”
You look over your shoulder and see Iwa still standing in your entranceway a bit awkwardly, looking a bit stunned. “Come sit down then, we’ve got an episode to watch.”
“uh oh yeah, sure” he says blinking, following you to the couch.
You got through atleast 4 episodes together, you barely talked as you were really engrossed in the show. Iwa was barely paying attention, he was too busy questioning how you were acting. This definitely wasn’t the girl he knew, even the way you were acting whilst watch the show was odd. The way you’d cutely giggle and ‘sublty’ look over to him whilst laughing at a funny part of the show instead of just doing your usual obnoxious laugh that he loved to hear.
“Oh Y/N, I’m going to go to the bathroom.” he says standing up, you don’t reply you just wave your hand in acknowledgement.
On his way to the bathroom, Iwa nearly trips on a black bag left outside your bedroom door. He opens it, and mildly gasped when he saw all your old stuff jumbled up in there. He picks up the back and goes straight back to the living room and stands in front of you.
“Haji, what are you doing you’re blocking the TV” you complaining trying to see what’s happening behind him.
He drops the black bag infront of you and you internally curse yourself for not moving. You stare at him waiting for him to say something.
“Well whats this then.” he says looking down at you, almost like a disapproving dad.
“Clothes.” you say smartly, knowing what he was asking.
“You know what I meant Y/N, why are all your clothes in a garbage bag.”
“Because I wanted to put them there,” you wanted to seem as nochalant about it as possible as if putting all your clothes in a garbage bag doesn’t make you feel sad.
“Yeah but why?” he says sitting down next to you.
“Just because I wanted to” you reiterate “what else do you want me to say?”
“Well this isn’t like you, its just a bit random Y/N” he says
“I know this isnt like me you” you spat, standing up “Isn’t this what you wanted anyways.” You head to your bedroom picking up the bag with you, with Iwa hot on your heels.
“What do you mean this is what I wanted?” he says in disbelief “When did I ever say that?”
“It doesn’t matter” you mumble, you start to aggressively take our your old clothes and shove them back into your wardrobe whilst Iwa is just talking. You’re not really listening to him your just putting the clothes back.
“Y/N Stop!” he yells kind of knocking you out of your ‘trance,’ “what is going on with you?” he grabs you hands and pulls them down stopping you from what you were doing and he winced at seeing your tear stricken face.
He gently pulls you into his arms sitting you both on your bed, waiting for you to speak. “I don’t know what you want from me Iwa..” you start your voice slightly breaking “it’s just I did this all for you and you don’t even appreciate it.”
“I don’t know what you mean Y/N?” he says sounding genuinely confused.
“Y/N is simple and basic.” you say repeating words that you heard your boyfriend say about you, you feel him tense as you say it and you slowly get out of his hug.
“Y/N I-”
“That really hurt Hajime, I know now that I'm not your ‘type’ but I-”
“No Y/N, you are my type of course you are!” he says gulping in nervousness “I love you, and your style. I’ve always being enamored by how you dress and present yourself and I don’t know why I even said you’re basic and simple I didn’t mean it that way.”
“Really?” you say sniffling looking down
“Yes really you idiot,” he says lifting your head up “To be fair I don’t care what you wear, since you look great in anthing I just want you to be happy Y/N and especially not dress for anyone including me. Okay?”
“Okay,” you agree slightly nodding your head.
“Good, so can we go and finish the crown and then burn all these clothes?” Iwa jokes as he stands up.
“Burn them!” you exclaim “These cost £200, you muppet.”
“£200! Gosh Y/N, next time you go shopping im definitely coming with you.” he says shaking his head “can’t have you blowing out your bank account for clothes you don’t even like that much.”
You spend the rest of the day finishing of The Crown and you and Iwa eventually both sort out your wardrobe. Your style and aethetic changes a lot more through the times you were together and Iwa was very supportive and helpful of every single change. Especially *insert your favourite dress aesthetic here.*
Matsukawa
You were walking with your friends; Iwa, Tooru, Maki and your boyfriend Matsun. Walking to school as you did every morning, today the topic of conversation was Tooru’s bad taste in women.
“Gosh yesterday was horrible, she didn’t want to talk to me at all,” he complained “all she wanted to do was to come straight to my place, I didn’t even have the chance to tell her my hair routine.”
“That’s why you don’t find dates off of Tinder shittykawa” grunted Iwaizumi
“Well I know that now!” he exclaimed.
“Y/N,” said Makki grasping your attention “Would you ever use Tinder?”
“Well I-”
“Of course she wouldn’t” your boyfriend interrupted wrapping his arm round your shoulder “she’s got me”
“Yeah, but if you two weren’t together, would you use it.”
“Well may-”
“Y/N definitely wouldn’t” he said interrupting you AGAIN “she’s way to frigid for that shit”
Frigid? You thought to yourself, ouch. Their was a quick awkward silence and all you could hear was Matsukawa laughing with the others laughing after awkwardly in pursuit. After sensing your uncomfortability (is that a word?) Oikawa decides to change the subject to make things less awkward,
“I need a woman who understands me!” he rants “One that can listen to me and appreciate my awesome hair.”
“Goodluck with that Shittykawa.”
Oikawa rambles on as you walk to school with the other guys chiming in. You on the other hand, were lost in thought. Your sex life wasn’t something you would want to publicly talk about let alone to you and your boyfriends' male friends. Also, with Matsun describing you as ‘frigid’ struck a nerve. You weren’t frigid, well at least to you, you weren’t.
When you got to school you immediately rushed straight to your lesson claiming that you teacher really needed to talk to you. Which was odd to Matsukawa as you usually all hung around each other until the bell rang, the other boys gave each other knowing looks all assuming the reasons for your odd behaviour.
At lunch time, you stayed in your class instead of going up to the roof where you and your friends usually end up. In the class room you hear one of the girls in your class, Empress having one of her usual gossip conversations with her group of friends.
“Hajime is so hot!” she said, fanning her face being dramatic
“Of course he is! You should totally go for him.” her friend said and the rest of the friends agreed.
“What do you think Y/N?” she says to you catching your attention “you’re close friends with him right?”
“Yeah, I am” you say a bit sadly “You should definitely go for him, I think you’d be perfect together.”
“Okay! I think I might later” she says smiling. Her and friends leave, but then Empress returns and walks straight to you.
“Are you alright doll?” she asks softly smiling
“I guess so..” you say hesitantly “It’s just something my boyfriend said to me this morning.”
“Matsun?” she asks and you nod in reply “What did he say?”
After you rehash the situation from this morning Empress scowls in annoyance, “Boys can be such pigs sometimes, such a dick thing to say.”
“I know right!” you respond “Even if I was frigid, which im totally not it’s not even a bad thing nor is it something to reveal to people in public in a ‘jokey’ way.”
“Yeah!” she agrees “I think you should go and give him a piece of your mind.”
“I mean...” your voice falters, when it comes to Matsun you’ve never really given him a ‘piece of your mind,’ even when he makes jokes that you’re not so fond of.
“Come on!” she encourages “I’ll come with you and cheer you on.”
“You just want to come to see Iwa Empress” you say pointedly “But fine let’s go.”
You both power walk to the roof where you see the four seijoh boys sitting down and eating. “Oh hi Y/N/-chan and look Iwa its Emp-chan... isn’t that a surprise!” Iwa blushes and the rest of the guys laugh.
You walk straight up to Matsun and stand right infront of him. “Matsukawa I need to talk to you,” you say folding your arms. “Why whats up babe?” he says, still sitting down with a cheeky grin on his face.
“Alone.” you say turning around walking to a secluded spot. Behind you, you hear Matsun get up and the rest of the boys saying “oooh Matsukawa your in trouble” as they laugh.
“What’s wrong with you today Y/N?” he asks slightly accusatorily.
“I didn’t appreciate the comment you made today on the way to school,” you say with your arms folded.
“Oh that little comment about you being frigid, come on it was just a joke I wasn’t being serious.” he says lightly laughing but he stops once he sees the glare you give him ”you knew it was a joke right?”
“Matsun, some are your jokes just aren’t funny,” you say “especially when they're about me and our sex life in front of our friends too.”
“Y/N I didn’t mea-”
“You just come off as a huge dick sometimes, and I can’t do this anymore if you keep on making these comments anymore I don’t think I can do this.”
“Woah Y/N, are you threatening to break up with me?” he asks “Over a few little comments?”
“These aren’t a few little comments, sometimes what you say is just unnecessary and rude.”
“Okay well...”
“Well...” you repeat staring at him waiting for to apologise or atleast say something, “fuck you Matsukawa.”
You storm away and walk bout to the group saying “Empress lets go.” She jumps of Iwa’s lap and waves by to them following you back down to the school. You walk into the bathroom and just start to cry, “Y/N whats wrong?” Empress says pulling you into a hug
“H-He doesn’t care,” you cry “He pretty much excused his stupid comments, passing them off as little ‘jokes,’ that didn’t apparently mean anything.”
“Oh dear,” Empress says consoling you “he’s not worth your time right now.”
“B-but but I love him.” you wail fat tears streaming down your face.
“I know sweetheart, I know,” she says letting go of the hug “so what do you wanna do about him?”
“I don’t know,” you say “I don’t want to break up with him or anything, but is there a point in staying if he’s just going to make these comments again.”
“I don’t know Y/N, but whatever you wanna do I’ll support. Wether it’s keying his car or reading shitty fanfiction and crying.” Empress says making you laugh.
The final bell rings and now it's time to go home, of course you don’t walk with the guys so you just enjoy your own company walking home.
“Y/N! Y/N!” you hear from behind you and of course the only person it can be is Matsukawa.
“What do you want?” you mumbled
“I..I want too” he says heaving out of breath from the running he had to do “I want to apologise. I need do.”
“Okay...” you respond
“Im sorry, Im so so sorry,” he says “those jokes and comments were stupid and I agree I can be a dick sometimes. Well a lot of the time, but I never wanted to be a dick to you.”
“Well you were.”
“I know I was, and I’m so sorry. There’s no excuse what I said and what I have said before I just hope I can make it up to you.”
“Okay then.”
“So are we not broken up?”
“No we’re not broken up, but it’ll take a lot of making up to do for me to fully forgive you.”
“Great! And I'll spend every day to get you to forgive me.”
Which he did, he spent every day showering you with love and affection. He was way better than he was before, you even went on double dates with Oikawa and his flavour of the week and triple dates with Iwa and his girlfriend. Matsukawa, although he still made jokes, he never targeted them and centered them around you in an insulting way.
AN: I didn’t really like the matsukawa one since i couldn’t really write for him properyl sooo sorry bout that one kids.

Speeding Bullet Wedding Headcanons
I said I would describe what I envision Sniper and Scout's wedding to look like since their one in 'Marry You?' isn't ideal...so here ya go!
Who proposed? Neither, really. They'd been together for years, and are just kinda talking about that, when Scout jokes that they should get married. He laughs, but Sniper's like "Okay" and Scout's like "Okay" and that's it, they're engaged.
Parent's reaction: Scout's Ma is thrilled, she loves Sniper because he's polite and good to Scout and tries to keep him out of trouble (she knows what they and Spy do for a living ;)). Spy, obviously, hates the idea at first and tries to bully each of them into giving up the other until Scout's Ma basically slaps him upside the head and tells him to back off. Then he begrudging accepts it, in public at least.
Sniper's adoptive parents are happy for him, not as happy as Scout's ma since they don't really know Scout, but he behaves himself once they fly in from Australia, and they decide they like him. Besides, considering how reclusive Sniper had always seemed to them, they didn't think he would even make a close friend, let alone get married, so they're honestly just relieved. (They don't know exactly what Scout does beyond 'assassin' since 'bashes skulls in' probably wouldn't go over well.) And they do love Sniper, so they're happy that he's happy and Scout seems to open him up a bit.
Teammates Reactions:
-Engineer: Genuinely happy; he wondered if it would ever happen and knows that they will be good together
-Pyro: Also happy, but in a more childlike way. Shows their excitement with a lot of hugging
-Soldier: Boisterous excitement, along with a lot of somewhat inappropriate and confusing advice (he and Zhanna are married at this point)
-Demoman: ANOTHER EXCUSE TO PARTY/DRINK! (not that he needs one)
-Heavy: Quietly supportive. He doesn't go on and on about them getting married, but is glad it is happening, partially because he hopes that Medic seeing others getting married will make him more receptive to the idea
-Medic: Outwardly is happy for them, but internally doesn't really care, unless they're willing to let him help them have biological children (cough cough uterus implant cough). Also internally is a little nervous about going since he knows that Heavy wants to get married, but he's uncomfortable with giving up some control in his life and needing to consider another person.
When and Where does it happen? Early Autumn in Massachusetts is absolutely gorgeous, so late September to early October. Sniper is fine with not having it in Australia, it makes more sense to bring his parents over then fly everyone else to Australia. Besides, they go there for the honeymoon and get into exactly the kind of trouble you'd expect from them in the outback ;) Where exactly I'm not sure, but not in the city, somewhere in the forest, maybe by a lake. A lot of the guests are criminals, so they have to be discreet anyways.
Who's invited? Sniper's adoptive parents and aunt (mom's sister), Scout's Ma and brothers and their families, all of the mercs and a plus one if they want (provided they won't cause a shitshow), and Miss Pauling (she's so busy she doesn't have a plus one but the guys are glad to see her). Heavy and Medic come together, Spy comes with Scout's Ma, Engineer brings his wife, Mary, but not their adult children, Solider brings Zhanna, and Demo brings his mother (which is so freaking cute). Pyro's content to come alone, and sits with Miss Pauling during the ceremony.
Planning the Wedding: Sniper and Scout are simple guys who know literally nothing about planning a wedding. Scout can't seem to focus on just one component and keeps getting distracted/excited, and Sniper's even less help because he can't make a decision about wedding stuff to save his life and just goes along with Scout, except when it's stupid or dangerous. So the two of them end up getting a lot of help, mostly from the women in their lives, and it turns out there's a lot of things involved that they didn't even know about. Spy helps too, but he and Scout get into a lot of fights because he can't help but be condescending about their incompetance.
What does the wedding look like? Even though our boys have decent money, the weddings not very high budget, considering the low guest number. Sniper doesn't want a large wedding, and Scout understands because he knows Sniper doesn't enjoy attention or large groups. A lot of the decoration is actually the forest they get married in, since it's autumn and the orange and red leaves are absolutely gorgeous. The 'colour scheme' if there even is one is red, and a bit of white, as a nod to the RED team and also blood, since they were both covered with it when they really met each other. They don't tell people that though. The guests sit on white chairs during the ceremony, and Sniper and Scout just stand in front of the lake or a really beautiful tree when they get married, they don't need anything else.
The reception is in the same location, and frankly, most of their budget is spent on food and alcohol. It isn't fancy, the menu is basically made up of whatever foods Scout and Sniper like, plus basic things like salad, garlic bread (unteleported), pasta salad, etc. The cake isn't fancy either, but it is huge. It's chocolate, because screw tradition, they both love chocolate, although Scout would eat any kind of cake, though they might have raspberry filling added to it or something. For drinks there is water, soft drinks, beer, wine, tequila, vodka, and whiskey. There isn't an open bar until the kids leave though...because yeah.
When it gets dark, there are strings of lights wound through the trees over the tables, the kind that are in individual jars. Scout doesn't tell Sniper about this, so when he sees them, he freezes for a second, but ends up thinking it's hilarious. There are no flowers on the tables, both Scout and Sniper have no interest in them, instead they have small candles in wooden frames. (And a couple fire extinguishers under the table in case Pyro gets carried away) There is a seating plan, so no one riles each other up too much or tells the non-mercenary guests too much about their jobs (so Soldier, Pyro, and possibly Demo; the rest can lie convincingly). The meal is buffet style, they do have the food delivered, but then transport it into the forest themselves, and serve themselves. Again, the mercs make sure the kids and ladies have enough to eat before really going to town on the food, since Heavy, Demo, Soldier and Scout have huge appetites.
Highlights from the actual wedding:
-The mercs were told not to bring weapons, but everyone did anyways, including Sniper and Scout. They want to protect each other, so sue 'em. They do try to hide the weapons, so Sasha ends up in a bass violin case that Heavy insists on carrying with him.
-A LOT of people cry during the ceremony, including Scout's Ma, Sniper's mom, Miss Pauling (but just a little), and Soldier (loudly). This happens again when Scout's oldest brother who died in WW2 is mentioned later during the reception.
-They do not hire a photographer, but several people, including Pyro, bring cameras. Scout's nieces and nephews figure out pretty quickly that although Scout loves having his picture taken, their new uncle does not, so they make a game out of sneaking up on Sniper and taking pictures until he spots them. They actually get some good candid shots this way.
- Sniper and Scout walk down the aisle together, like in Marry You?, except they do it because they want be together, not because they are nervous. They also do it so neither of them can be called 'The Bride', but since Scout is smaller and shorter than Sniper, he gets called that all night regardless.
-Scout shoves cake into Sniper's face. Sniper is like "You little bugger" and shoves A LOT more into his face. Scout laughs and they kiss despite having cake all over their lower faces
-Despite not planning speeches, speeches happen because drunk people (or tipsy anyways) are more comfortable public speaking. The parents are cute (except Spy who is vaguely threatening towards Sniper), Scout's brothers do their best to embarrass him, and the other mercenaries range from genuine to borderline inappropriate. Demo gets cut off by his mother, who drags him back to his seat and starts scolding him after one too many gay sex jokes.
-Some of Scout's family takes the kids home once it gets dark and the food is mostly gone. The parents leave too, except Spy who stays to keep and eye on things. Then all the alcohol comes out and everybody gets slammed. Dancing wasn't planned either, but it happens. The drunk Kazotsky Kick danced by both those who do and don't know how is a thing of beauty.
-At one point during the night, Scout looks at Sniper, who's a distance away and tells Engineer, Medic, and Miss Pauling, in total seriousness: "I'd hit that." His reaction when they tell him that he already has, and they're married now is so excited and wholesome...until he goes over to Sniper and they start making out right there.
-Demoman ends up sneaking in fireworks, which he sets off towards the end of the night. Some of the non-mercanaries are concerned about his alcohol level, but the team tells them that this is the most sober he has ever been around explosives. The loud noise and explosions prompt the mercenaries to shoot off a few rounds into the air because firepower is a must at a Team Fortress wedding, and that's how they celebrate
-Everyone is way too drunk to go anywhere that night, but the next morning Scout and Sniper leave in Sniper's camper with a LOT of alcohol cans tied to the back. They have to remove some sort of rocket attached to the back, most likely by Soldier and Zhanna. The honeymoon is the longest Sniper has EVER taken off of work, but it's worth it to him just so he can stay in bed with Scout all morning
What did I miss? If you want to know any other parts of the wedding, use my Ask Me Anything or comment!
