the thing about gravesoap for me is that like.

soap knows hes gonna get hurt because graves needs something and at some point he has to tell himself that the next time he gets hurt he’ll leave

and then graves needs something and he gets hurt and he gets hurt and he gets hurt and he gets hurt and then graves needs something else, more, and soap gets hurt again

and he never leaves, he just gets locked out

Thinking about SoapGraves because...well, iykyk.

Soap wants to forgive Graves for what he did, for the hurt he caused, but there's the nightmares, the frustration, the scars. Not just physical but emotional and mental scars. They're etched into his skin, he feels them in his bones, his very soul.

Graves can't forget. His conscious and subconscious won't let him. Every night, he fears what's to come, what haunts him. He stares at the slightly burnt photograph of them as he pulls it from his pocket while he's tucked away, hidden. His stomach turns, his heart aches. He misses them. He just can't find the right way to ask for forgiveness.

Ghost wants to make Graves pay, make him hurt the same way Soap does. He's picking up the pieces, holding Soap together as best he can and it hurts. Having to wipe away the tears, watching him break. What he wouldn't give to erase those wretched memories and make new ones.

random writing prompt:

during their joint operation in las almas, one of the shadows finds soap drawing in his sketchbook while on base. the two talk and the shadow finds out that soap is somewhat tired of always drawing military bases as well as soldiers in gear and that he enjoys drawing stuff that looks unusual or out of place.

when the shadow is back with his comrades, they make bets about who can get graves to look unusual or out of place so soap would draw him...
