Now looking at Venti’s personality will not ever feel the same.

Speaking of which, if you say that Venti’s current personality is exaggerated, or perhaps based off of the bard’s, this begs the question, “What was Venti’s personality like in the past before he ascended to godhood?”

Has his personality took a drastic change after the bard’s death? Just like the Tsaritsa after the Cataclysm?

Or did Venti fully incorporated the bard into himself, other than physical appearance?

Think about it. Venti had shed his own blood, sweat and tears to fully honor his friend and pass on his legacy (for fucking twice a millennia and 600 years or more, and God knows how long it took since we aren’t fully sure what Venti’s exact age was. Only the fact that he is the second eldest of the Archons and that he was alive by the time of the Archon war, so he would be older than that time.) for countless millennia.

Like dude did SO MUCH HARD WORK to really preserve his friends memory and we can see it in everything he does. From metaphors of the winds, writing poetry, singing songs, raising an enslaved nation from the depths of turmoil, and so, so much more.

If he really did incorporate the bard in himself, we have no choice but to immerse ourselves how it’s like to be Venti.

I keep thinking wether this was a subconscious or unconscious process in his character.

It started as a reason to honor his friend’s legacy or was taking on his friend’s form become a way to preserve the bard by doing everything to protect Mondstadt and fulfill his friend’s dream.

But then, slowly, the trauma of his friend’s death and the burden he shouldered engulfed him, to the point of becoming close to erosion. Considering how long he lived, could the erosion had pushed him to near-experience of almost feeling like he is loosing memory of the bard?

As you’ve said earlier about Venti “scrambling for traits he remembers”, erosion would, of course, come with psychological consequences. Fear, anxiety, panic, rage, and so much soul-crushing emotions. It’d make no sense to say that these emotions were not something Venti experienced with his time as a god.

So imagine all the anxiety, fear, and panic of loosing sight of his friend’s memory, and potentially the dream he always strived for, pushed him to hyperfixate and obsess over what little memory he has of him.

And everything the bard had done, he fully included it onto himself.

He was no longer restricted to appearance, but in his personality.

And it makes sense that years and years of beings so used to trying to embody what his friend has always been made him nearly loose sight of his own identity.

Going back, it could be a subconscious or unconscious process in his character.

Subconscious:

Venti had an immense fear of forgetting his friend, thus clinging on to whatever memory he had of him. It began from the start on taking on his form, so maybe, just maybe, these thoughts manifested into his behavior? Or perhaps, into thoughts of anxiety?

I can’t stress this enough, but imagine how long these thoughts haunted him.

What if he had gotten his face wrong? Was his voice identical to his enough? Was his hair the way it really was when he died? Were his hands the right shape? Was his eye color really green? Or no- wait! Blue?

Until it evolved into something more.

Did he really use to laugh like this? What was his smile like? How was he like when he was happy? Sad? Angry? Could his courage ever match with mine? What would he say in this situation? How would he act? Would he ever do such a thing?

Am I really like him?

I propose that Venti wanted to make himself like him, so in the eyes of the Mondtadters, they would associate Venti and his deeds with the one who had liberated Old Mondstadt.

But oh, the memory loss.

But the ever so cheerful Venti will never talk about these. He’d just hide it in the back of his mind… trying to forget it, of course.

Unconscious:

It was a slow, built-up instinct that Venti alluded for centuries. He couldn’t forget him. No, he would never be forgotten. He will make sure of that.

But his duties and responsibilities called for him. He had no time to think, not right now. Pushing these thoughts in the back of his mind, he kept treading on his painful journey of godhood.

It wasn’t until years down the line, he began reflecting on his own interactions with people, did he realize just where did he started acting this way? He looked on how he felt so… different from his old self. His elemental form.

Taking a glance on a reflection of himself, was the only way he realized.

And he knew the answer.

Okay but real talk the black heart being about Billy actually makes Agathario even more compelling sorry y'all don't have an imagination.

I mean, the implications of Rio not technically being in the coven??? From what I understand, a coven is supposed to be a sisterhood, a group of witches dedicated to each other above all else. Rio is not dedicated to these people. She is not here for them. Rio is death and death has no coven but she still came. She came because Agatha summoned her, not because the coven needed a new green witch. (This also means the coven never actually needed a green witch since I'm presuming Billy isn't one. They didn't need Rio but Agatha called her anyway)

Rio has no loyalty to the other witches, she is there for Agatha and Agatha alone and I am SO hoping they get to show that on screen in some way.

Also the black heart itself isn't a huge plot point or a character moment, but Agatha's reaction to it certainly is. She sees a black heart on a list of names that are supposed to be her coven and she immediately thinks of Rio. Billy presses her about the fourth name and she would rather eat paper than do literally anything normal. Like, we know Agatha is an incredible liar, she should have been able to easily come up with something to tell him but she was so thrown off by the idea that the name might be Rio that the only thing she could think to do was to eat the list. That is insane behavior who cares if it wasn't actually about Rio because Agatha's actions were about her. That tells you infinitely more about them than a list of names.

Also just. Logistically. It makes way more sense like why wouldn't Lilia just write Rio Vidal? I know it works for the drama of it all but I was wondering if they were going to give an in-universe reason or just leave it as a weird plot hole. But who's the one person a witch can't name? Also, Billy told Eddie nothing in his life felt normal until they met, so it makes sense that the symbol she would use to represent him, the most accurate way to refer to Billy, is the affectionate inside joke between him and the only person who makes him feel normal (I could ramble for just as long about how Billy being the black heart makes his character and his relationship with Agatha so much more compelling as well but this is for the Agathario stans and I know y'all are a little traumatized so I'll hold off for now. Also also it makes Mrs. Davis's death even more tragic because there was actually no reason for her to be there, they already had their complete coven)

vampire au where they can only drink the blood type they were before they were turned. other blood has an almost poisonous effect, burning them from within like acid and drinking too much of it can kill them

in the old days, before the knowledge of blood types, it made humans they could feed on absolutely precious. they're kept safe, pampered and doted on; a vampire’s most prized possession

attacking another vampire's human is seen as the highest insult; not only is it a slight against them, it also carries the implication of "i want you to starve"

it's also used as the cruelest of punishments; starving a vampire for months, until they're feral with hunger just for their torturer to throw in a random human, watching them desperately suck down poison, their instincts begging them to keep drinking even as it kills them

ghost is one of the few who survived it; thrown in a pit so deep, he saw stars in the middle of the day, left with nothing but the dried bodies of the humans roba drained without care, others with their throats slit, blood he can't drink spilled out around them

a taunt of the one thing he needs but will never get

but ghost hasn't survived this long just to give up here

he refuses to die in this stinking, rotted pit

ghost is a force of nature as he descends over roba's manor; killing any who wander into his path until the halls run red. until he gets his hands on roba and tells him a secret:

vampires can feed on the blood of any vampire, regardless of blood type

it becomes a legend in vampire high society; if you starve another, you'd best make sure they actually die

otherwise you might end up piled in a dining room, the vampire you left for dead lounging on a throne of corpses with his fangs lodged in your throat

ghost decimates roba's empire, burning it to the ground until no one dares to speak his name in fear of incurring his wrath. it's incredibly taboo for a vampire to feed off another but ghost's too powerful for anyone to challenge him and the other vampires are too scared to try. scared of what he's willing to do, the lengths he'll go to; not that they'll ever admit it

soap is the first human he ever brings to court; delicately bathed in the finest silks and jewels, his throat always bare so he can show off ghost's ownership, his bite framed in lace

he's not like the delicate waifs the other vampires show off; he doesn't cling to his master, demure and submissive. he shows off his teeth as often as any vampire, fully willing to rip out the throats of any who insult him or ghost

The idea that uni protesters are "elitist ivy-league rich kids larping as revolutionaries" on Twitter and Reddit and even here is so fucking funny to me if you actually know anything about the student bodies at these unis. Take it from someone who's going to one of the biggest private unis in the US, 80% of the peers I know are either from the suburbs or an apartment somewhere in America, children of immigrants, or here on a student visa. I've heard about one-percenter students, but I've never met one in person. Like, don't get me wrong, the institution as a whole is still very privileged and white. I've talked with friends and classmates about feeling weird or dissonant being here and coming from such a different background. But in my art program, I see BIPOC, disabled, queer, lower-income students and faculty trying to deconstruct and tear that down and make space every day. So to take a cursory glance at a crowd of student protesters in coalitions that are led by BIPOC & 1st/2nd-gen immigrant students and HQ'd in ethnic housings and student organizations and say, "ah. children of the elite." Get real.
