Happy PMD Red is on NSO day. Sadly I don't think King the Skitty and Muse the Cyndaquil will be returning to finish up their adventure regardless.

A shortcut!#Now imagine for a sec trying to get through a parkcore + miros bird gauntlet with a corpse and a worm within 5 cycles #before the scav ran out of karma and you were stuck inside forever. Yeah #Besides that tho I've been messing around and been very tenderly modding the game.#Turns out you can have a bit of fun with most sprites without too much effort by simply cloning the MSC mod in your files #Then changing the copy's mod info so it doesn't clash and simply swapping images out for whatever you want #As long as you have the sprite name you can do this. You can also change region names and decals and music all sorts of stuff.#In short I've been brewing a custom mod for a friend to make her suffer as much as possible <3 #Thanks to a buddy on the rw server for showing me that trick btw lol. The best cesspool I've ever participated in #Oh before I forget- the symbol on CW's head is completely made up. They just looked so... Bald.#Tbh I wasn't expecting their personality to be so... bright? Most interpretations make them kinda solemn and gloomy #But nah this CW is what NSH should've been 100%. I like them. All done! I tried not to use anybody more than once but some repeats were just unavoidable. If I reread the entire series again right now, I'm sure some of these would change, but here's who I thought of.

My reasons and a blank template under the cut.

Berryheart & Sunbeam: I was so stressed reading about them lol. But I appreciated how complex their relationship was, especially on Sunbeam's side. Berryheart loved her kids, and she hurt her kids quite badly because she thought she was doing the right thing. And that was a tough thing for Sunbeam to cope with. It's not a positive relationship but it is compelling, and I enjoyed that!

The Three: This is more for Lionblaze and Jayfeather (mainly since we've had more time with the two of them) but it would be wrong to leave Hollyleaf out! Most siblings in this series have some sort of strife between them, and these three have had their moments too, but they cared deeply about each other.

Rootspring & Shadowsight: I liked their friendship in TBC. Particularly I liked how insecure they both were, but how they admired each other for the very traits they were insecure about. It was sweet. Perhaps they should kiss.

Tree & Rootspring: This is largely just because Tree is the most supportive dad ever. I like that he stuck by Rootspring and helped him get Bramblestar's message out while still keeping his secret -- even though it was really inconvenient, his son's feelings mattered to him. I like that as soon as trouble came, he was ready to pack up and get his family out of the Clans, but he listened to their wishes and stayed and supported them.

Nightheart & Frostdawn: Their friendship was very sweet in Thunder. I love how Nightheart supported Frostpaw when she was at her lowest point, and how Frostpaw learned to rely on him, which helped her start trusting others again.

Brightheart & Cloudtail: A classic old pairing. I guess I'm a sucker for stories of one character being terribly wounded and at the worst point in their life and then another character supporting them through it and them bonding. Whether that's platonic (like Nightheart & Frostdawn) or romantic like Brightheart & Cloudtail, I'm a fan.

Tawnypelt & Birchfeather: I probably don't need to explain this one since everybody's talking about it. But Tawnypelt's support of Birchfeather when his own parents refuse to acknowledge him is sweet.

Fireheart & Cinderpaw: It's been a while since I last read the first arc, but I remember enjoying these two as both mentor and apprentice and as friends. Nothing too deep here, they were just fun to read about.

Sunbeam & Lightleap: It's a shame their friendship broke down so early into ASC. I enjoy a ship between someone who's calm and sensible and someone who would commit arson on a dare. They could balance each other out, or they could stress each other out. Either way would be interesting to read about!

Please talk to me about your favorite relationships of various types as well! I always enjoy hearing what kinds of characters, tropes, etc appeal to other people.

I know I’ve talked about this before cause I basically blogged my way through it but there was no catalyst for greater growth for me as a teacher than me having to read my student surveys my second year and being so caught off guard by how cruel so many of them were that I had to leave my classroom and go sob in an empty one for 15 minutes but then when I came back in (and in the following days) when I just felt so absolutely wrecked and wretched and vulnerable and scared but I HAD to keep going that it dawned on me that it literally didn’t matter what they said about me I still had the power of authority, NOT because of my personality or charisma or anything I had heretofore believed gave me the authority, but because it was literally my job and because if I said we were going to read twelfth night aloud or diagram sentences or memorize poetry that was literally what happened and I just cannot explain the bedrock of confidence that gave me because the worst had happened, all my darkest fears came true, and it didn’t matter. They still needed to learn and I had what I needed to make them learn. The job remained unchanged. Changed me forever tbh.

#and looking back I realize now that they didn’t hate me #but honestly it wouldn’t matter if they did and still doesn’t #because I can do my job (if I’m doing it right) even if they hate me #literally changed me as a person #I wouldn’t re-live it because it was like being stabbed to death with a blade #it hurt so badly lol.#reading WORDS #a whole bunch of them about how you are failing as a teacher and a person #is my worst nightmare!!!!#I still don’t read student surveys and I never will (I swap with another teacher) (and we filter)#but it is something to survive it #Also! I know I was not as bad as the meanest comments #and there were lots of nice ones in the positive section #but I was objectively new. and I was figuring it out. and I was trying things and it didn’t all work #and kids sense that like blood in the water #and their own immaturity makes them incapable of compassion #but again it was just kind of the so-what of it all #the surveys aren’t tied to how my administrators perceived me #it was just a box they had to check #and life kept going #and so did teaching #though you know what it is so funny the timing coincided with us reading the Pemberley scene in one of my classes #and I had no energy and no emotional vulnerability I was just dead and lifeless #but for whatever reason a scattered handful of the kids got excited and they set the tone #HEALED me. a little bit.#pride and prejudice is just always like ‘and if not Pemberley is still good’#and you know WHAT #anyway thanks for listening

#rain world #dp spoilers #seven red suns #since i started out using in-game art as a ref for suns - not realizing the concept art existed -#i've been using nine dots #i might swap to seven though #it's easier to draw too. lol #ALSO. THE PINK MUPPET HAS YELLOW MARKINGS AND HIS SIGNATURE COLOR IS TEAL #the blue robot has red markings and her signature color is gold #NSH king of color coordination and we don't even see most of his design smh #part of me loves how inconsistent things are in rain world #do you want a solid design for moon?#a canon color palette for five pebbles?#no. they change between every single in-game piece of art #look at moon's antennae between each picture. look at them. look to the antennae #part of me is infuriated by it too #i tend to prefer when there's a solid canon to draw from #but i also enjoy how rain world is so interpretable #it makes seeing what headcanons are common in the community neat #and all the new ideas people come up with are a treat too #including everyone's interpretation of the characters' designs!

This is a really good idea!! Unfortunately, this au is a lot more precise with the swapping characters around, if that makes sense? Everyone is swapped with another character, and if needed, things are lightly…tweaked so it makes sense.

Mincy is a character based off of one of the animators/artists of the original game, so she’s kinda…swapped with Ems…in a way?? It’s…complicated, but we already know how it’s going to work~ I just don’t want to spoil all of the fun!!

Buuuuut…there IS a character that’s somewhat close to Aubrey, it’s just not Mincy…can you guess who it would be~? 😉😉
