ooooh two questions in one here—
i know not all the cast are yans, and who is and isnt is not smth that’s gonna be revealed yet. but, are there clues? 👀
second question. CAN i rest my head on fritz to take a nap (on his shoulder, lap, whatever) (its the relaxing vibes….)
Not many honestly! There is ONE that I can think of off the top of my head and it is here in this blog already!! Im not even sure if it counts as a clue but something is…off about ONE character and that character happens to be the yandere. I will say, one of the characters alphabets and shipping chart are (semi)lies, the alphabet/s may or may not be out already. Who even knows if it’s the obvious answer or not?
I’m so sad cause I want to do a little doodle for this NEOW, but I’m on my phone, I will have to do the doodle tomorrow! Anyways! Yes, yes you CAN rest your head on Fritz, anywhere you want! Matter of fact, Fritz encourages you to rest, he can see how hard you work and is proud of you, he thinks you need and deserve a little break and Fritz is happy to be that for you! They’ll even run their fingers through your hair if that helps calm you down more(considering Zion has a catlike personality, Fritz is so tempted to just pet you anyways)

> @fightwing … like thee starter.
the star-crossed ( ex ) lovers were busying themselves with arguments coming down a hallway of the tower. they'd been going at it for what seemed like forever... so much so that they were being avoided by any & all members that could see reason. an interjection from starfire, “ i didn’t mean—————— “ she stops herself short. it’s not worth it. it’s already brutal enough; their intellect & conversations surrounding emotion. she dare say this might’ve been the thing she missed the least about the tower since her brief leave in the name of self—discovery. they’d already entered the room they needed to reside in: it’s best to do what they came for & go.
titan’s intelligence terminal & criminal - activity tracker was on the fritz; and seemingly since victor was nowhere to be found... star would have to be acting technician. now seated in a chair, nails clicking... she'd continue to dish out frustration. “ i think you’re a great leader, dick. you possess a great heart. but —————— “ a bite upon her bottom lip, she didn’t want this to come off gritty. he didn’t deserve malice despite being the reason that… it wasn’t the time for that, star. a deeper sigh and slow—blinks to conjure lighter steps around touchier subjects. a metaphor might’ve been more useful in a time like this, “ you get lost & you do not ask for help, nor do you like when people come and find you.. “ personal experiences as it may. way too many times had she been at the bloody beak of a bird who wanted to soar, when she desperately just wanted to fly with him. but again… topics for a different time.
there’s stillness in the room: to which they both knew the star loathed. it’s there you can hear her body hum for something greater than this, twitching fingers & a bouncing leg, skies & clouds just out of reach. so she fills it with conversation ( more so confrontation ). “ —————but do you think it would change anything? if someone were to find you peace? or are you still so desperate to be right that you end up wrong in the end? “
her own answer was no: she loved him, she was in love with him once, but even then she knew.. he was far too headstrong for his own good. unreasonably so. regrettably she’d stoop so low to say that he was just like his father in that way, both in affection &.. —————— she’d busy herself with the terminal. acting as though her heart wasn’t heavy & she couldn’t feel baby—blues staring at the side of her head for comfort. the star wanted to give it to him. the murmur of her very being whispered reassurance… but she denied them both that access to solace with a simple click of a button. out popped a holographic reflection of the earth… color-coded blips reflecting places criminal activity was talking place. fixed, hopefully.

In his old life, he was familiar with those things. Red tape, regulations and waiting for approval.
"Believe me, Dell, as a Civil Engineer, I Know all about those things." There were so many steps to get some buildings up, roads fixed and the like.
"Or...I guess...former Civil Engineer now." He added, deflating a little.
There were days were Mac wondered why he was in this field. Of course, there were moments where he remembered why he was here.
The ill fated attempt to escape the Merc life. But there was also the Love of well, buildings. To go through a city, suburbs. Anywhere there were people, there was a chance you'd see your own work. A chance to admire it, to see it serve people.
And then there was the love of bridges.
Both of these happened to conveniently match up with Linus and his line of work in something construction related. The two had actually worked together once or twice to their pleasant surprise.
And trains ran on bridges in certain areas.
"Luckily for us, the only one watching us is the Administrator." He said quietly.
Being Engineers, specifically being Conaghers, they Knew things the others didn't. Had a duty to hold their tongue on certain topics. Had secret responsibilities to uphold regardless of their own thoughts on the tasks at hand.
"The War is a pretty big thing to overlook." Mac pointed out.
Mac often liked to think of himself as the type of person who disliked fighting and killing. But there was a part of him that Liked it.
A thrill, a sense of spite that came from it.
"And..the one thing I want to build more than anything? It ain't something I can make here. Not with these tools." He grinned.
It was a stupid secret desire. One that was unlikely to ever come true.
He looked down, lightly digging into the ground with the tip of his shoe.
"But...I suppose you're right. I'm sure there's other things I could focus my attention on. Keep my mind off the fight and missing home.
Ya know, I ended up making whole shower stalls for our base on our first week here." Mac and Fritz, the two whose work places were also their personal quarters, were granted personal showers. Despite this, the official showers had 9 showerheads. One for each merc.
Mac didn't know if it was the same for the red base, but he was proud of himself.
He turned to look at Dell, a new wind of inspiration coming to him.
"I wonder, how much I could improve on those blue prints." It was a friendly show of competition, an eagerness to put that innate drive to create. To solve problems.
To push the boundaries.
The question gave Mac a mix of melancholy and eagerness to talk.
"Well, I got married to a nice Gal. Her names Irene. We got two kids, two daughters." The first in the family over the few generations since Radigan himself, a family that had been exclusively sons until that point.
Less impressive considering their family tree did not go back very far on their fathers side.
Radigan hardly talked about his past. Whatever other extended relatives they may have on that side were mere speculations.
"My oldest just turned 8. When our second daughter, Marie, was born, had to put my own education on hold...for good.
Hard to raise 2 toddlers, hold down a job and try to get another phd. I figure 6 is enough." He loved the three of them dearly and it pained them to be apart from them for so long.
"Irene, she..wants another kid. But..i don't know." He confessed.
(@tales-from-the-blu-team) The sound of a lone harmonica could be heard from somewhere in the desert, on that quiet ceasefire day. Mac, the Blu engineer, was feeling listless. The meaningless, senselessness of it all had gotten to him today.
He'd built his machines, all ready to go. Back ups for those machines.
Spy was busy, he couldn't remember with what. Scout, demo and Heavy had gone out to ' enjoy youth.' He had an inkling of what that could entail, but Heavy was a responsible fella, he could probably take care of the two of them. Medic was doing paperwork....or working on some medical experiments.
He couldn't even call his Wife, she'd told him she'd be busy until Saturday and well, it wasn't Saturday.
So now, Mac was left to his own devices. And that device? A harmonica.
" Thought I'd find you here, buddy. " Dell's warm drawl broke the quiet of the desert as he approached, his boots crunching softly against the dry earth. The fading sunlight glinted off his goggles, making it hard to read his expression, though his tone carried a familiar warmth.
" Hope you're still not sore about me killin' you the past few weeks, " Dell continued, chuckling lightly as he lowered himself to sit beside Mac. The jest was easy, meant to soften the tension left from their violent reunion on the battlefield just days ago.
Dell had known something was off about the BLU Engineer from the start. The way he moved, the way he handled his tools — it all struck a chord Dell couldn't place until that moment in the heat of battle.
When he'd shot the enemy engineer and kicked him over, the helmet had rolled away, revealing a bloodied face Dell hadn't seen in years. Recognition had hit like a hammer. His hands had tightened around the grip of his Ithaca 37, aiming it squarely at his cousin, but for a brief moment, he'd hesitated.
Then a RED Soldier had stepped in, a quick burst of gunfire cutting the moment short. Mac was down before Dell could say a word, and instinct had forced him to push the memory aside and carry on with the fight.
Now, sitting here under the setting sun, with the ceasefire holding, Dell finally had the chance to process it all.
" Didn't expect to see you in a place like this, " Dell said after a moment, his tone quieter, softer. " And to think, it was here where we met again. "
Dell wasn't the sentimental type — not really. His work kept him at arm's length from just about everyone, even family. It wasn't that he didn't care; he did, in his own way. But life had a funny way of pulling people apart, and in his mind, it wasn't worth lamenting. Still, seeing Mac here stirred something in him — a connection, faint as it was.

After this newest episode, I think it’s safe to say that Bart is a master manipulator. If it wasn’t already clear before from season 2 and how he tricked everyone around him, the opening scene of this episode really delves into his more sinister side, at least to me. His smile seems very twisted when he’s manipulating the Legion into giving him the information he wants and it’s actually kind of scary. But, I loved seeing this side of him and I hope we see more in the future.
I absolutely agree with you anon - we’re finally starting to explicitly see those other sides to Bart - the ones which helped him to survive and escape a full on Reach apocalypse. I probably bring this up every time I talk about Bart but… HE WAS RAISED IN A FREAKING APOCALYPSE AND ENSLAVED BY THE REACH FOR THIRTEEN YEARS! That is gonna warp your perceptions and make you much more willing to do things that aren’t so morally right - all in the name of survival. Things like stealing, keeping secrets, lying and, as we see in this episode, manipulation and extortion to acquire that which is needed - and right now, he needs information.
Knowledge is power and until he knows everything - the Legion are the ones who hold enough of that power to manipulate him into doing what they want. Though, because Bart is pretty savvy, he make sure to only do as they ask until the point where he holds enough power over them to get what he wants - the truth. Once he has that knowledge he can more clearly understand and navigate the situation ahead. It likely also gives him a sense of control - when you’re kept in the dark you’re vulnerable to attack or further manipulation - and I get the impression Bart doesn’t like feeling vulnerable.
“I could finish it now, easy-peezy… but I won’t, not until you finally tell me everything!”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f877ae5ebc65c06bc1e5fc8f473f81d7/4c34232571a29be2-fc/s540x810/d2ff7f4d1aa0c9c6b62b37593f55ac3dbf7de5b4.jpg)
Though before we see that twisted smile, we see this more surly, almost angry look on his face - this reminds me of the Bart we saw in the future - the cynical/snarky one with a mission to do. That Bart abandoned everything he’d ever known in order to save the entire human race from having to experience all the hells he had to — and now, these Legionnaires suddenly turn up out of the blue with knowledge of some new threat to the timeline that will make all the work he did pointless. Of course he’s not gonna just stand back and let that happen - he came back to protect the future and he’s gonna do whatever he must to ensure it stays protected - along with those he’s grown to care about within it. The first thing he needs to ensure that is all the information the Legion are keeping from him, then he can work out the best course of action.
Last thing and I’ll stop talking - but, I just realise while writing this that Bart is kinda the recon. guy - he’s the one who will speed off ahead to get a full picture of the unknown terrain and pinpoint any threats that await them there. His speed makes him perfect for that as he can process the information he encounters at a much higher/faster capacity than anyone else - and that information ultimately protects everyone else around him. He makes sure to know everything and that’s what he’s doing with the Legion now - knowing the whole situation as to understand the threats and avoid as many nasty surprises as possible. That’s the best way to ensure survival and Bart certainly know how to survive.
Anyway. Did this go off topic? I hope not - my brains a bit on the Fritz at the moment so I honestly can’t - but like you, I’m also loving what we’re seeing of Bart. Bring on more! I’d also be intrigued to see if any of the characters close to him have ever experienced these other sides of Bart’s personality or if he’s really been keeping them under wraps for all these years. I’m so excited to see what’s to come!
Thanks for sending me your thoughts Anon - I love hearing them and getting any opportunity to talk about Bart. (Apologies for the delayed response)

movie recommendations
because I randomly feel like it.
The Hunt for Red October (1990): Adaptation of Tom Clancy's book of the same name. Stars Sean Connery (Marko Ramias), Alec Baldwin (Jack Ryan), Scott Glenn (Bart Mancuso), James Earl Jones (James Greer), Sam Neill (Vasili Borodin), and also has several other actors I like. Since this is a Marvel blog, I will add that Stellan Skarsgard, the actor for Erik Selvig, is Tupolev. During the late Cold War, the Soviet Union built the Red October, a massive submarine built with new technology so that SONAR could not detect it. Ramias, captain of the Red October means to defect to the United States. Ryan, a CIA analyst, deduces this and has to prove his theory to the US Navy before it's too late.
Ocean's Eleven (2001): Remake of a 1960 film, Ocean's 11. Stars George Clooney (Danny Ocean), Brad Pitt (Rusty Ryan), Matt Damon (Linus Caldwell), Julia Roberts (Tess Ocean), and Andy Garcia (Terry Benedict). Again, Marvel blog, I'll let y'all know Don Cheadle is in it as Basher Tarr. Danny and Rusty plan a $160 million heist of a Vegas casino owned by Benedict, the lover of Danny's ex-wife Tess. They assemble a team to steal the casino's money
Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016): Adaptation of the book Wild Pork and Watercress by Barry Crump. Stars Sam Neill (Hector or Hec), Julian Dennison (Ricky Baker), Rima Te Wiata (Bella), and Rachel House (Paula). Again, Marvel blog, so I'll tell you it's directed by Taika Waititi. So he has a cameo in it that is hilarious. Hec and his foster son, Ricky, don't get along all that well. After a crazy turn of events leaving Ricky and Hec stranded in the New Zealand bush for a couple weeks before social services were supposed to pick up Ricky, the authorities assume Hec kidnapped Ricky. The two live on the run in the bush and grow close. It's a Waititi movie, meaning that it is a comedy used to discuss a more serious topic, in this case chosen families. It is hilarious and had me laughing so much when I watched it.
Invictus (2009): Based on John Carlin's book Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and The Game That Made a Nation, which is in turn based on real life events in South Africa. Stars Morgan Freeman (Nelson Mandela) and Matt Damon (Francois Pienaar). It is shortly after apartheid and Mandela's election as president. There are lots of racial tensions in South Africa and Mandela wants to find a way to unite the country. Mandela decides to help the national rugby team win the 1995 Rugby World Cup in order to create something both whites and blacks can agree on and hope for together.
The Sixth Sense (1999): Stars Bruce Willis (Malcom Crowe) and Haley Joe Osment (Cole Sear). Malcom Crowe is a child psychologist trying to help Cole. Malcom eventually learns something supernatural is happening. Can't say too much, I don't want to spoil it since it blew me away.
Hatari! (1962): Swahili for "danger." Stars John Wayne (Sean Mercer) and Elsa Martinelli (Dallas). Sean and several others are professional game catchers in Africa. Dallas, a photographer, shows up unannounced. A series of funny events happens afterwards.
Swiss Family Robinson (1960): Based on Johann David Wyss's book The Swiss Family Robinson. Starring Johann Mills (Father Robinson), Dorothy McGuire (Mother Robinson), James MacArthur (Fritz Robinson), Tommy Kirk (Ernst Robinson), Kevin Corcoran (Francis Robinson), and Janet Munro (Roberta). A Swiss family is on a boat to New Guinea when pirates attack and the ship flees into a storm. They shipwreck not far off from an island. They have to build a life for themselves on the island and learn to love the island. But they have to be careful - the pirates are still out there.
Darby O'Gill and the Little People (1959): Based on Herminie Templeton Kavanagh's Darby O'Gill stories. Stars Albert Sharpe (Darby O'Gill), Janet Munro (Katie O'Gill), Sean Connery (Michal McBride), and Jimmy O'Dea (King Brian). Darby captures King Brian, king of the Little People, who grants Darby three wishes. At the same time, Darby's landlord sent Michael to live in the townhouse and expected Darby to move elsewhere that required less maintenance now that Darby is old. Katie and Michael start to fall in love.

*takes of Anon glasses* alright. Let's show you a different version of yourselves! I gotta do em on at a time tho-
This is princess Cassidy, around age 3. She had a very different life-
After being murdered at the age of three, she went on to possess the Springlock Freddy prototype animatronic. The animatronics in her universe have souls of their own, made of magic. Each animatronic had a different relationship with their spirits. Freddy and Gabriel had a father son relationship, Chica had a more playful version of mother and daughter relationship with Susie, Bonnie was a father figure to Jeremy and also a mentor, Fritz was Foxy's first mate and son, while Cassidy and Golden Freddy where like siblings.
The spirits don't remember who killed them, except for Cassidy. All the spirits were too scared to get close to anyone, so the animatronics killed nightguards so Cassidy would feel safe enough to check and see if it's the killer. They ended up killing thousands of nightguards before they found him. Many of those nightguards were innocent, and/or played vital roles at home, with their deaths effecting more people than just the nightguards.
But after killing William Afton, using Springbonnie. Cassidy lied and said it wasn't him. Because she and Goldie made a "friend" named Chara. Chara was a demon of Genocide, forced to feed on something called L.O.V.E that can only be obtained by murder. Afton had actually made a deal with this demon, and they're why he killed in the first place in this AU. Cassidy wanted to continue killing people so Chara would still be fed. What is "L.O.V.E" you ask? It stands for Level Of ViolencE.
After years of murder, and fruitless searches for Afton, humans find out where all the nightguards are disappearing to. They try and go to war with the machines, but the animatronics surrender and pleaded for their lives. Not wanting to explain why Freddy and his friends were killed on live TV, humans decided to lock animatronics underground with an ancient spell.
Skip a few years, and a society has been started underground. Made up of old animatronics, and nightguards possessing the suits they were stuffed in. Freddy went on to be king of animatronics, Foxy the captain of the Royal Guard, Bonnie the Royal scientist, and Chica just opened a shop that sells baked goods. Golden Freddy goes on to be like the prince of the underground.
Skip another few years, and doctor Bonnie did the impossible. He found a way to raise the dead. He brings back Cassidy, and she gets a second chance at life. She becomes the princess of the underground, and she and Golden Freddy become the underground's hope that they can right their wrongs and have peace with humans.
Here's a photo of the golden royals. In this picture Cassidy has grown, and turned ten.
Your opinions?
"Wow! Thats a really cool Au! The storyline makes sense. The only thing I didn't really understand, is why I was killing. I would never actually kill people, and once again, sorry to Mike, I thought you were William. But the fact that we were killing the nightguards to find the killer made sense. But this is an au, so I completly understand things are different. And I like the fact you made it make sense. I also love the relationship between me and golden freddy, that concept makes a lot of sense, its kind of like the relationship between me and CC. We are like siblings. And don't tell Micheal B. (Micheal Brooks) and Kelsey, but he is my favorite other soul that lives in Golden Freddy. So i'll give it a 9.5/10. Also, the rest of the Golden Freddy souls say the same." Cassidy (golden freddy) says.
"Don't mind Cassidy, she can sometimes get a little bit off topic. But she's still pretty good with reviews. I agree with her, I really like this AU and it has a good concept that makes more sense then other AUS. Also, love the drawing, I could never make something so good! 10/10" Charlie (puppet) adds on.
"I really like this AU, it makes sense unlike some other aus with stuff like 'Elizabeth is a brat' and stuff like that. Like Charlie says, I really love the artwork, and also, the plot twist with the L.O.V.E thing was really good, I wasn't expecting that. 10/10 for me." Gabriel (freddy) says.
"Aigh't mate, I'm just gon' make this simp'le 11/10. This 'AU' is great." Fritz (foxy) says.
Jeremey (bonnie) nods. "Yes, I agree with everyone. I really like this au, it makes sense, and it had a great story line. You don't see that in many aus, 12/10 for me." he adds on.
"Like everyone said, this au makes sense and has good plot points. It also sounds like something that could happen! Definitely. I also like me and Chica's relationship, I wish I had another person in this suit. As much as I know I'm lucky to have my own personal space, it gets a bit lovely sometimes, you know? So, to sum it up, i really like this au. 10/10." Suzie (chica) says.
"Thank you for asking, @glitterdragonthegreatprotector , we really appreciate your hard work on this au. Also, great drawing! I 'L.O.V.E' this au. have a good day mate!" Mike says attempting a dad joke at the end.
"CC says; that joke was terrible Mike." Cassidy replies.
"Your just jealous of my sense of humor!" Mike says jokingly. Then he laughs.
"Thanks for asking, now if you don't mind me my shift is over for the night, and tomorrow they are going to go back to killing me. See you later." and then goes out the door.
A/N

so is new screamland just monster new england if so is the u.s.a call u.s.s
transitions between laughs and screams chifs kiss
damn 15 minutes lunch break what is this school ( even my high school give us a half hour)
rosie got fired no i feel bad i hope she get a better job
fear co is just evil ain't it
also why does fear co have ben (the kid that tylor try to laugh) door i thought here are one of kind
also if fear co have the same doors as monsters inc are they connect somehow other than a rivalry
tylor whole idk what to call it guilt regret is very cool
johnny i know is tylor is good scarer but promote him to vice president is insane
randall ach i miss you so much
i haven't mention the end talks but smitty and needleman talking randall i think they know
episode 10
the p in sully names for patrick that neat
hey where did merc take Celia
good to know that friz take the essentials
i have mixed feelings on randall and johnny being friends one hand aw that nice johnny does care for him other hand god that feel so wrong because everyone thought he kick him out but i do have a theory since johnny couldn't get sully so he decide to keep randall because i mean hey he still did a good job on the scarce games beside that last part
randall such a petty bitch i love him
i can't believe sunny and cutter broke up over orange juice but at lest there back together and also they kiss awesome
great use of the scream extractor also did waternoose actually come up the scream extractor

also the fact that johnny is sharing a cell waternoose is something
how did law enforcement lent randall out like put him in restraint or something on him like if there multiple firebreathers exist than surely there are other monsters that turn invisible too
chet being a mole was interesting i hope he get better friends
good to know that skylar and chompy work for monsters inc now
i like that tylor grow in this mostly to due to him needed to learn that you know a kid as a kid than a energy source i guess it the lessons monster need to know as well
val and tylor sharing a card remind that card that mike and sully share i think that a neat detail
also i need more detective duncan maybe an episode where he try to find randall
one last thing i want a another season man i love these characters
my overall thoughts while i did enjoy season 1 this season is a vast improvement the stakes where higher not stuck to monsters inc tylor actually was a bit more likeable pretty funny and having a nice contusion while still being left for more seasons
my thoughts on monsters at season 2 ep 1-5
episode 1
i like that we see Tylor family more and just be outside of monster inc more
it nice that val hang out tylor family
tylor why are you complaining to a child also i love that kid was "dude i'm like 6 and i have coloring to in the morning" i hope tylor doesn't have kids
i grad fritz, cutter and duncan are still around i was kinda worried their forgotten
clair what happened to brock did johnny kill him probably not
i was kinda surprise jack and jill were conjoin honestly
idk man i like johnny and clair kids okay there funny
nice parallels man
episode 2
i like roger man he to care more about mift than tylor
good to know how the monsters world treats alternative fuel bad
does anyone else think the guy in the hamster wheel is one of tylor old design kinda what they did back in season 1
honestly if a kid screams and laughter in a giant can make a big explosive and in mu a group of adults could cause a disrupt power in make me think that mixing adults screams and laughter will be nuclear
episode 3
i can't tell if johnny is being stupid and smart while talking to tylor probably the latter
i can't believe this show is woke or something/ joking honestly i find it funny that the reason there at the restaurant tylor is at is cultural appropriation than the place being closed or something
why are so many songs about screams
good job cutting back on the soda fritz also sorry for not getting promote duncan
i can't tylor left his deceased grandfather suit in the closet
roze why are you kissing the waiter did something happend between you and gary did they break up are they i open relationship would they fake dating just to get mike under skin
oh sully i don't think johnny change at all
episode 4
wow fear co is really big
god i love joy so much her design remind me of dragapult from pokemon
chet bubby i don't think johnny love you man
like the chat between rosie and tylor like yeah not everyone can a jokster i guess
i how val or just more to monsters inc treating the kids as kids then a energy source also val could make parent honestly
episode 5
sick burn sully
everyone thinking the stoop is for sale is funny
i ready like old monster lady and her alive scarf thing
tylor had to let go of the past
detective duncan is best duncan also absent father which fuels my theory that duncan and declan parents are divorce and with their respected parent
duncan being into gilf ha i really want draw him simping for Tylor grandma

My problems with FNAF Lore
Hey guys. I felt like I wanted to explain my problems with the FNAF lore, and how the lore was ruined for me years ago.
My history with the franchise and the lore Now, I discovered the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise back in 2014 through DanTDM's Let's Play of Five Nights at Freddy's 2. It was the first time I had ever been introduced to the jumpscares and characters in-game. But I actually discovered the first game through a YTP someone made of it. With how little I knew from discovering that YTP, I assumed that Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy were anthropomorphic animals that ran the place, and that Freddy just liked to leave scary stuff in his office because he was a horror guy. That assumption was way off and DanTDM's Let's Play let me discover that the antagonists weren't anthropomorphic animals. I then discovered Markiplier's videos on the games in 2014, and fan-animations of the games like SMG4's Freddy's Spaghettiria series, and Piemations' 5 AM at Freddy's series. Besides the surprising jumpscares, what really got me hooked on the FNAF series was the 80s-90s aesthetics, and the lore behind it all. Around late 2014 and early 2015, I had discovered the hidden lore series by MrCreepyPasta, which was what got me interested in exploring the lore. I loved the FNAF lore when it was just, "Man kills 5 kids in pizzeria joint and the animatronics become haunted by the spirits of the kids". This made it feel much more realistic, as murder of kids in a place like this can happen in real life. The fact that the staff weren't behind any of it, and that the guards were originally just some average joes who got hired for a night guard position without knowing the dangers of it was also very realistic too. And the inclusion of another tragic event known as the "Bite of '87" was also interesting. But the biggest thing that made the lore have a charm to it, was how there was an implied history of Fazbear Entertainment, and FNAF 2 showed us the history of the place before the tragedies happened, as well as implying that the negative impression was stuck before the murders was also interesting. The lore was interesting back then because of how realistic and mysterious it was. And when the third game came out, it was a great conclusion to the franchise, in which the killer got his comeuppance, leaving the kid's souls to rest in peace. And the killer haunting the suit he died in as an attempt to escape his torment of being trapped in a suit, eventually leaving him to be burned alive in the location he was at was a very nice way to end things. But the way it had expanded on the story by taking place thirty years after the events of the first game, with the unsolved mysteries of Fazbear Entertainment trying to be recreated by people was a good way to expand upon the story. So basically, I prefer the FNAF lore when it was the story of how kids were murdered in a pizzeria joint, and how they eventually got revenge on their killer, while room was made to show us how the pizzeria joint handled this, and how the alleged hauntings were shown through the animatronics being possessed. Because of the lore being so interesting, I tried making up my own timelines to tie the story of the first three games together. And seeing as how the lore was concluded, it should've just ended there, right? Well... it didn't.
Where the problems crept in I think that the problems with the lore crept in with the fourth game. Now, this game could've had potential, as it could've taken place in the location where the withered animatronics were used in before FNAF 2, but it didn't do that. We got instead a child suffering through nightmares, with animatronics that have particularly stupid designs. Plus, what made it worse was that the Bite of 83 was introduced, making the topic of the Bite of'87 confusing since it was implied it happened in the second game, but now it was happening in the fourth game? But then it was revealed to be a separate event, why two separate events of the same thing? What constitutes the idea of establishing a similar event to the Bite of '87? It had nothing to impact the games itself at all. The bigger thing that was confusing is this, Fredbear's Family Diner was implied to have been closed for longer than 1983-1987, and the fact that you see the unwithered versions of the withered animatronics in Fredbear's makes it all the more confusing, since Fredbear's was established as a separate, and early location before it was later re-enfranchised as Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. So why retcon what was established in the previous games? Why not just show us in the fourth game what happened with the withered animatronics before they became withered, and then make a fifth game that took place in Fredbear's Family Diner? I don't know why Scott felt the need to retcon things, especially since most people thought that the franchise had already ended with the third game. Later on down the line, Sister Location came out in 2016. And I honestly hate Sister Location, lore-wise that is. The reason I say this is because Sister Location fucked up everything more than the 4th game. This time, there was more retconning, the horror tone and 80s-90s aesthetic was gone, the game felt like Sci-fi and less like the older games. Worse, Purple Guy was given an actual name, and turned from a cold-blooded killer that killed kids because of being a psychopath, into a mad scientist obsessed with placing souls into animatronics using soul juice in an attempt to create murderous animatronics, and he killed kids to do this, but most of them were his own or his friend's kids, Fazbear Entertainment was actually started by this maniac, and Mike Schmidt from FNAF 1 was no longer an average joe working a night shift job, but instead the son of the killer and later became an unrealistic purple zombie that somehow got hired for night shift positions. Jeremy and Fritz were no longer average joes either, and were now aliases for the purple zombie who's actual name was Michael Afton, making Mike Schmidt another alias for this zombie. And now, this was more about a family that was insane to begin with trying to put their own personal demons to rest, rather than the story of the murder of 5 children in a pizzeria joint, and the killer gets his comeuppance while the faceless pizzeria chain tried keep its reputation afloat, eventually failing which lead to the closure of it. All of this shattered how I interpreted the lore. The biggest things that Sister Location fucked up were the following. 1. Taking away the 80s/90s aesthetic. In the first and second game, the game has an 80s and 90s aesthetic with the looks of the locations and decor, as well as the camera sounds sounding like cassette tapes, and the first took place in the early 90s, while the second took place in the late 80s. FNAF 3 kept the 80s/90s aesthetic, and I'd argue FNAF 4 kept the old aesthetic too, such as how old everything looked in FNAF 3, and how the house looks particularly old in FNAF 4. FNAF SL's aesthetics look way too futuristic for a FNAF game, especially since it's said to take place before the first 4 games. 2. Making it more sci-fi. The original FNAF games, and the fourth one were meant to be horror games, and they established this greatly with audio and visual cues, as well as the storyline having a horror-esque feel to it during the first 3 games, and even the 4th game kept. The focus on sci-fi traits or elements in SL kind of kills the horror-esque feel that FNAF originally gave off, especially the whole soul juice and mad scientist part. 3. Making Fazbear Entertainment have an owner. Fazbear Entertainment should've just been left as a faceless corporation that had nothing to do with the murders, the type of company to try and cover up the damage done to their reputation by cutting costs or not batting an eye when a man kills children in their restaurant. 4. Making Mike, Jeremy, and Fritz into aliases. It doesn't make any sense as to why a company would hire a foul smelling zombie who kept changing his name. I think that Mike, Jeremy, and Fritz should've just been average joes that got night guard positions not knowing that their jobs were dangerous and not knowing the hauntings of the pizzeria they applied to work for. And 5. The Afton Family. The Afton Family completely ruined the idea of the children being killed at Freddy's by an unknown man, since now it's just about a family killing his own for a dumb mad science experiment and the son is trying to stop his own father, making it so you no longer play as an average joe that discovers the dark secrets and hauntings of a pizzeria joint, but instead you're just playing as a zombie that needs to kill his own father in order to stop his father from killing anyone else. Seriously, it feels less like a horror game, and now feels more like a badly written self-insert sci-fi story with some bit of horror mixed in. The FNAF series is way too complicated to figure out now due to loads of retconning and unnecessary changes made to the story. Worse, the Nightmare, Funtime, and other animatronics that have been added to the franchise just seems like an excuse for Scott to just add new characters simply to keep the franchise going. Now, let's look at a FNAF fan-game series with a better written story.
Five Nights at Candy's Five Nights at Candy's has a much easier to understand story than FNAF. In the first game, you play as a female night guard at a burger joint where an unfortunate incident occurred between an animatronic and a customer, and an incident involving two kids at the factory where the animatronics were made. The backstory of everything, such as the original location and the burger joint's opening are explained in FNAC 3, showing how two unfortunate incidents at the puppet/animatronic theatre led to the closure of the place. We also learn more about the main character from the first game, and the one who caused the murders as well as the victims. In the second game, everything is concluded with the daughter of the guard solving the mysteries of the old factory. The reason is because Emil Macko managed to actually tell the story in an effective way, without retconning anything and without relying entirely on twists and misdirection.
Conclusion So yeah, I can't stand FNAF lore post-FNAF 4, because of how it became way too confusing to understand, and with how the series started retconning tons of things and making unnecessary changes. And it's amazing how a FNAF fan-game was able to tell its story better than the actual FNAF fan-games. So for me, I'm sticking with the FNAF 1-3 lore, which is my interpretation of it. Before I end this blog though, what's annoying is that no matter if you mention the FNAF 1-3 lore on YouTube, people will instantly start bringing in the modern FNAF lore and correct you, even if you're following you're headcanon.

Ep 209: The Phantom Horse of Greensboro
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
– Revelation, Chapter 6, Verse 8, King James Version
Description:
Many of us have taken an adventurous expedition to check out some local, notorious spot to see if we could witness or sense some evidence of a past famous or infamous incident. Most of the time, one only returns with a minor anecdote or pictures of an ordinary location bereft of anything noteworthy. The more realistic purpose is not so much to find a ghoulish memento but to imagine what it must've been like to have been there when it happened. But what if such an outing starts with strange coincidences and ends with the adventurers enduring a paranormal event seemingly unrelated to the original incident? This is the sort of tale we'll hear from our good friend, graphic designer, and illustrator Tommy Beaver about the time some friends went to check out the scene of a horrific crime that happened in Summerfield, North Carolina, almost 13 miles northwest of Greensboro. On June 3, 1985, the incident in question occurred when at the end of a murder spree and police pursuit, Fritz Klenner and his first cousin, lover, and accomplice, Susie Newsome Lynch, ended their standoff detonating a bomb in their Chevrolet Blazer. Klenner and Lynch had blown themselves up along with Lynch's already deceased two sons who were in the vehicle rather than face arrest. The site of this shocking finale was what the friends were hoping to explore, but their souvenir was an unsettling experience they'll never forget. Strangely, a mysterious white horse suddenly appeared to encounter the group, except that this creature may not have been a horse at all. Many people have claimed to see a spectral white horse, and the ancient Britons believed a sacred white horse was one's ride to the afterlife. Yet these friends may forever wonder, as will we, what was the connection of this beast to the tragedy if there is one? And if this wasn't a horse as we know it, what sort of monster haunts the location of one of North Carolina's most ghastly crimes?
Location:
The intersection of Strader Road & North Carolina State Road 150 in Summerfield, near where Fritz Klenner and Susie Newsom Lynch blew themselves up in their Chevy Blazer after a crime spree and police pursuit on June 3, 1985, and where Tommy’s friends saw the mysterious “horse.”

For some reason I got into “Humans are weird/humans are space orcs” here and something occurred to me.
Humans being VERY specific on where they come from and will be OFFENDED if you mess up.
Listen. LISTEN. Some people won’t get this because you come from smaller countries but if you are in the USA or maybe traveling the EU it becomes clear how much humans are all about that home town vibe. Call a midwesterner a yankee and you get ALL sorts of offense.
So many species of aliens come from planets long united. It makes sense, after all - a united front would get you into space and revolutionize technology better. Sure, there are some species that have their own cultural divides still, but usually it’s more “half the planet is Quasar and the other is Nuffkin” and they have distinct physical features that make it easy to see.
Humans, though, are a big mess. We’re stubborn, we stick our flags in the ground, and we got to space more or less because it was a race. Humans have birth connections and blood connections and cultural connections. Even after Earth does have to form a United Nations with a representative to join the space federation, it’s more like we are all the EU or USA - a bunch of little planets in the trench coat of a big, united planet.
“So where are you from?” An engineer asks their new recruit. Common phrases, easy talk, and they hear that humans are very sociable compared to other races.
The human, a xenobiologist, sips their drink before grinning. “Oh, well, Earth, but more specifically Scotland.”
The alien pauses, recalling what they have heard about humans. “Ah, yes, I think I have heard of it. You have that city, New York, yes?”
The grin on the human’s face turns sour. “New York? NEW YORK??? No, nut-uh, no! Those Yankees got NOTHING on us! We have flowing hillsides and football - which those damn Americans STILL mess up! Like, honestly, American Football? Absolute malarkey!”
The alien leans away from the human’s passionate outburst. “Ah... ok...”
“Scotland, now, Scotland is AWESOME! We have hills and pubs and BEAUTIFUL towns! My gram still lives in the old village. Service is crap, but it’s peaceful break from space hubs.” The human adds. “Plus the local football team kicks ass. Arsenal can suck it.”
The alien’s translator must be on the fritz because they think the human just said that ‘ammunition’ can ‘suck’ it? What does that even mean?
Thinking swiftly, the alien tries to change the topic. “Well, I have heard many great and dangerous things about your planet.” He tries. “My cousin visited last year during their leave. They spoke of the beauty of your planet.”
“Oh?” The human stops ranting. “Neat. Where’d they go?”
The alien pauses. “Uh... Earth?”
“Yeah but what region?”
The alien remembers a name now, but they are afraid it might set off the human again. “I do not recall.” They lied.
“Ah well, I hope it wasn’t stinking England. Those wanks.” The human finishes their meal and stands. “I got a project to get back to, but it was lovely talking with you! If you have any other questions about Earth, let me know!”
The alien nods, holding still until the human was gone.
He sinks into his seat because, apparently, his human crew member really does not like where their cousin went.
Note to self. The alien added. Do not bring up earth. Earth is weird.

Blauprinz and his crew
My blood parents I never knew. Berliners, probably, but they left me in an anarchist-affiliated charity orphanage in Potsdam before I was six months old, so all I know for sure is that they named me Artur. I was adopted fairly late as these things go, about five, by the people who I consider my parents: Jurgen and Verena Carolingt. They could have had blood children, but chose to adopt, and frequently. When I was twelve I had five foster-sibs, but they slowed down after that; I only have two more sibs from the next decade, and they were adopted as the eldest four of us moved out. That's not counting Leo, who was their second fosterling; he was a real hellraiser and chafed at the academic's morality they tried to enforce, so he ran away to join a street gang. I got back in touch with him years later; for all that he left, he was as angry as me about - but that's getting ahead of myself.
My parents were academics, professors at Viadrina Universitat in Frankfurt-Oder, but in their more subtle way raised hell just as much as Leo. They grew up during the first partition, Da in East Germany and Ma in West Berlin, and they both hated the idea of hiding what they believed to cater to the powerful. They didn't budge in their convictions that everyone deserved a chance or that their conclusions deserved to be followed to their end. They believed in equality and metahuman rights, even when that was fairly unpopular, and they lived it. I'm a norm as were they, but my sibs are an even split of norms and orks plus one dwarf. They didn't adopt elves, who got snapped up more easily by more prejudiced parents, nor trolls, who posed logistical hurdles they didn't think they could deal with. (They felt bad about leaving out trolls, though, and donated generously to several charities for them. I do too, now, in their memory.) They budged just as little in their research, not even to stay quiet about it. When their research topics - applied sociology and economics of magic, for Da and Ma, respectively - developed from postulates to specific, inconvenient predictions and prescriptions for the practical world which got the corps to lean on their deans to quiet them down or kick them out, even so they stuck to their guns.
That pressure started to build around when I turned 18, and got worse as I went through my degree. When it all went to hell, I was a post-doc in applied modern theology - university-speak for 'shaman-ology' - and Zanne was a thesis candidate in high-energy experimental thaumics - studying when magic goes 'boom'. Gabi had given academia a serious try but it wasn't for her, so she'd become a net security wageslave in Potsdam - though honestly she'd be happier as a SINless decker. Fritz and Deb were undergrads at Viadrina, and Jost, Lotte, and Sascha were still young and at home. I don't understand what exactly was enraging the powers that be about their research; I think Mother had published something demonstrating that the publicly-known processes for producing refined orichalcite should produce a far lower market price, indicating that there was a covert cartel, and Father had models indicating that parts of the Eurowars didn't fit naturally with the known social dynamics pre-bellum, indicating deliberate provocation by some powerful force. True or not, either might have been the provocation. There had been escalating threats, but I wasn't living there, so I didn't hear about that; later, when I researched the background, I learned there’d been a fire started in the garage, broken windows, a chemical warfare agent left hissing in Dad's office after hours. But the first I heard of it was when I was back home, a week in late April, for Easter and Mother's birthday.
When some fucking Johnson carpet-firebombed the entire fucking house.
I don't know if they knew we'd be there. They had to know there were innocent children, there; Jost and Sascha weren't even ten yet. My parents died in the first few seconds, their corpses vaporized. Lotte was hugging Mother, so she was, too, and Fritz was just far enough away to leave dental records. Jost was less lucky; he roasted, but not quickly, and survived three hours before he died in agony. Deb lost a leg and an eye and as far as I know the pain's never stopped. Sascha was in the other room and got out, with severe scarring but none disabling. Zanne as well. Gabi wasn't there; the bosses wouldn't give her time off, and I'm not sure if that was a mercy or a curse. I was next to Father, and as far as the records know, I flash-fried like Lotte. But I'm a shaman of the Dragonslayer, and the fire washed over me. I tried to shield Dad with my body, but my totem isn't a protector; it preserved me, and much better than it would most of its shamans, but that didn't extend to him. I tried to help Jost when I realized he'd lived, but he told me to run and get revenge. I didn't realized Zanne or Sascha made it until much later; Zanne had hit her head and went unconscious quickly, and Sascha's response to pain always was to freeze up. But I kept it together enough to get to the basement, and there was ductwork Zanne had discovered years earlier and shown me, which connected it to three doors down. She'd also shown me the nearest part of the Berlin Underground - we snuck out through that ductwork - which had an ork gang she'd run with sometimes, so I thanked her memory about a hundred times that night. The gang leader by then, Ratbite, turned out to be one of the toughs she'd run with, and recognized me. I wasn't shy about using her memory to get a favor, and traded my shamanic skills - and some medical assistance - to get help going completely dark, wiping me from the databases so I could go truly SINless. He was pretty pissed when he found out she wasn't dead, but by then the favor was spent, and when she went dark as well she did him a couple favors and he mostly forgave me and accepted my excuse that I'd thought I was telling him the truth.
The official story was that the firebombs were thrown by a human-supremacist policlub, Nationale Aktion I believe, who objected to our outspokenly mixed-race family. This was bullshit, but plausible enough bullshit that the department heads and local politicians could easily pretend to believe it and be seen to Do Something in response, without that Something doing anything to harm corporate interests. Sascha I think believes that story, or prefers to act like he does. Deb, Gabi, and Zanne, though, didn't. And Zanne was good at causing explosions, but terrible at keeping her temper in check. She retaliated, with prejudice. Headline-making prejudice, which is how I and my temporary friend Ratbite learned she was alive. She had a big bounty for a couple years, but some anarchists gave her shelter before the corps reacted, and from there she became a runner as well. She didn't know I'd survived, though she did suspect, so I found her first, and joined the crew she ran with at the time. After that one came apart, the two of us have assembled all our future crews together. Well, mostly me, I'm the Face, but she still has better ties in anarchist and goblinoid circles; there's a lot of orks and trolls who won't trust a smoothskin, even one like me with an established rep.
Our vengeance is still a work in progress. The men who carried out the hit were deniable contractors, corp security from a minor place. They went down in an op our second year running, and the company got enough blowback from that job that it folded a year later. Finding out who gave the order is not quite done, but we've narrowed the field. I've got a solid network, and, well, my surviving siblings aren't any happier about it than me. Sascha pushed back when Zanne tried to contact him; I think he wants to put it behind him. Deb's a professor herself now, but she hasn't given up on justice, and Gabi-. She works for the corps, and counter to the ork stereotype is a very cold person in most ways; rationally, I know that gave me reasonable cause to doubt her. But after we finally made contact, we found her heart was cold, but a cold-burning hatred. A grudge aged like wine, but still so raw and deep that it feels unthinkable she could have made any other choice. Even the idea that she might have sided with her bosses over her family feels completely embarrassing to have considered. And Leo, like I said earlier, was almost as mad; he left home, but he still loved them for giving him a home to run from. (I hadn't realized, but he sent them gifts every Christmas, mostly hand-made, from the first year he'd left right through their deaths - he didn't learn about their deaths until he tried to deliver their gifts that year.) He's a complete ork stereotype, though, his anger is intense and searing. He'll let it go for months and then find something that reminds him again and smash up some corp's office, mostly at random. I try to give him more productive outlets when I can, but he refuses to go professional runner so he's probably going to end up landing in an early grave with his gang despite my best efforts. Not that we're really close, but I've lost too much family to let my crazy ex-brother join them.

The Unresolved Baby Subplot Chapter 6: Of Marriage and Mikasa- And Maybe Some Chapter 69 Hints as Well
Our story has come to an end, and three years later, the world is recovering from the Rumbling, and the nation of Eldia (Paradis) has risen again as a dangerous power in the battle for survival, only without Titan powers this time. Hizuru is a strong ally, yet as for how all this happened and why Historia made her choice to keep quiet... we may never know. But she does want peace negotiations with the Alliance, so that’s a good sign she didn’t completely agree or side with Eren.
And Historia is married. But if the farmer is the father, why didn't she marry him in the first place? And why isn't he allowed a consistent face? Also on the island is a grieving Mikasa Ackerman, possibly under the protection of Hizuru. It seems that everybody in the Alliance is going back to Paradis to negotiate save for Onyonkopon, Falco, and Gabi- who had few to no ties to the island or are too young- and Levi as well, who is with them for unspecified reasons and in an unidentified region. How does all of this tie into this (conspiracy) theory of an unresolved plotline? And how does this tie back to the most important chapter to Levi and Historia’s characters?
Surprisingly, once again, the key to this all is Mikasa Ackerman.
To review, Mikasa has a scar on her arm that her mother of Azumabito heritage passed on to her as a young girl to keep secret and show to the one whom she will marry and have children with. At the time, this was a mystery, but when Hizuru pays a visit for exploitation of natural resources diplomacy, this is all revealed.
When Hizuru arrives, there is a nice panel with these words and the two Ackermans together.
Then cut to when Kiyomi is asking if Mikasa recognizes the marking, and then this happens:
Yes. In a scene all about marriage, children, and heritage, guess who appears right next to Historia? Levi, of course! The odd thing about this is that this is the only time Levi shows up in the manga in this scene. Check out the rest of the page if you don’t believe me. He just appears... then disappears. Huh? What was that all about?
Some may criticize me for reading too much into this, but remember, even the smallest of details can turn out to be big. When Eren was talking about the Armored Titan, there was a brief cut to Reiner at the table. It’s very suspicious that this detail here was included. And the anime kept this in but with more shots of Levi watching in the background, next to Historia the whole time.
Afterwards, Historia is even more curious and gets super happy that Mikasa is her “perfect match”. This is reminding me of the whole thing with Reiner and Eren “being the same”. It’s just too bad that neither of these got properly concluded. Anyways, I find it funny that Historia is getting all chummy with the Ackerman with royal blood.
What’s the story with Mikasa being royal? In the past, the shogun of Hizuru was an ally with the royal family on the island, and his son was friends of the family. But as the story goes after the Great Titan War:
What a tragedy! It’s awful when families are divided up in great worldwide disasters.
I can’t help but see some of the similarities here between the shogun’s relationship with the royal family and the Ackerman clan’s history with the royal family. Both clans were on close terms with the king but unfortunately, when they spoke out again Karl Fritz’ ideology and could not be mindwiped, they were persecuted heavily and almost driven to die out completely on the island. But then by some miracle descendants of both clans came together to have Mikasa, who would be the one to end Eren.
Now, after this chapter, Historia is stuck in the worst possible situation due to her royal blood, but she is willing to take on the Beast Titan to save her people... but then her unresolved, frustrating pregnancy happens. And with all these bits and pieces that I have put together, it would seem that Levi would be coming home to be with the woman he has been linked to and his child and marry. Unfortunately, due to the political climate on the island, the Alliance is not welcomed at home, and it has taken Historia to give protection to Jean and Connie’s families to ensure that they are welcome for peace talks.
You see, dear readers, Mikasa’s heritage may have given us a hidden clue this whole time about why Levi and Historia are where they are.
1. The Ackerman-Reiss connection. Kenny and Uri became friends by a miracle despite the history of the Reiss family persecuting the Ackerman clan, and despite their rough start, Levi and Historia became close enough to set up an Orphanage, and based on what I have posted here, they seem to have become very close by all evidence.
2. Great Titan War- The Rumbling was catastrophic with 80% of the human population in the world killed. Things are a total mess outside of Paradis. In all of this, there is no way for the Alliance, including Levi, to get back home. In all of this, he has a child back on the island, just like how the shogun had a child left on the island after the Great Titan War.
3. Secret Heritage- The child, a little girl, may not know who her true father is. The Jaeger Faction is powerful, and if they find out that the Queen has a child with a traitor who stopped the Rumbling and contributed to wiping out Titan powers, she may as well be killed off, and things in the world could become far, far worse than what they are now.
...
At this point, you may be scratching your head and frustrated with me and how I can’t just accept that the farmer is the father because Historia is mentioned to be married. Really? Just because she marries the man doesn’t mean he’s the biological father of the child. See above for why Historia may have entered a political marriage with him. After all, he’s a former bully who redeemed himself. He may not be the man she really loves or wants to be with, but he partook in this coverup and still cared for her since the real father is trapped faraway due to the political climate. It’s a real tragedy since this pregnancy was not according to any plan but a complete accident too, so Historia probably had to make some tough decisions. The Jaeger Faction would probably grow suspicious over the puppet Queen, just as much as the MPs, for having a child and not marrying.
Besides, do you really expect me to believe that a man who doesn’t even have a consistent face to count as a character? Image created by @pas-de-deux84.
Slightly off topic, but another suspicious thing is that whenever Historia brought up in conversation, it’s always about “Historia and her children”, not “Historia and Jake’s children”. They can’t even name the man? Really? Are they aware of something they aren’t allowed to say out loud? Do they know or think that she got pregnant to save her skin? It’s only been the MPs, a third party, who recount anything about this whole situation directly.
The royal family on the island has a long history of coverups: the truth about humanity outside the walls, the true king of the Walls, Historia herself at one point. Why is it impossible to believe that Historia has orchestrated a mass coverup for her own and her child’s sake? Again, this is not helped by the fact that we got no real conclusion or answers to her actions.
And at the end of the manga, we don’t know why Levi is with Onyonkopon, Gabi, and Falco in an unspecified location either. Maybe he’s recovering from his injuries or something in a place where he and the others have been granted immunity for stopping the Rumbling. I highly doubt that it would be realistic that they are traveling the world together for fun three years after a mass genocide happens and world peace is but an idealistic illusion or even opening a tea shop.
Here’s the best thing somebody else pointed out not related to the ship in the first place: Levi and Historia have the exact same facial expressions. Levi’s is the last one he has in the manga, and Historia’s is from when the pregnancy was revealed. For some context to Levi, to be fair, he is looking up at a plane, which likely reminds him of Hange and his other fallen comrades whom he has given meaning to in their sacrifices. But what exactly is he doing after the Rumbling? We have no idea. Does he have goals? Does he want to get back to his family?
That’s the frustrating thing for me. Neither of them really had proper depth explicitly given to their final arcs, and neither do they have any moments where they reflect on their actions afterwards. Am I reading too much into this all? I may never know, but it’s the best I can think of.
...
Now, I want to talk a bit about Chapter 69, the colored chapter that was released with Chapter 139. You know, the chapter where Kenny and Uri reconcile and become friends and also where Levi and Historia have their iconic moments of the punch and becoming the next Ackerman-Reiss pair. Surprisingly, whether these two were meant to be a pair or not, they both had callbacks to moments in Chapter 69.
Levi is in the same position that Kenny was in when dying against the tree and Kenny gives his whole speech on everyone being a slave to something and how he himself was unfit to be a parent.
But Levi has “surpassed the father”. Why? Unlike Kenny, he stopped his slavery to being the hero. He gave up on his vow. He gave true meaning to his comrades’ deaths by ending the Rumbling and ending Eren. He may not have his Ackerman strength anymore, but he truly embodied at the end what the Survey Corps stood for. He dedicated all his heart. Oh, and he smiles again.
As for Historia, in Chapter 69, she became the True Queen of the Walls, a member of the real royal family.
Unfortunately, she has been a puppet queen for some time- until now- when the Jaeger faction has taken over the island, and she must use all her mind, strength, and resources to negotiate peace, or Eldians and the rest of the world are going to fight forever now.
By the way, Historia isn’t present on the podium when the Jaeger Faction is rallying the support of the crowd. She’s present here, awaiting her old friends to negotiate peace. Tell me what that says about her character.
It’s all these subtle details that just make you wonder. Could Isayama have given us all the answers we need, just in secret? It’s quite the conspiracy if you ask me!
...
Bonus round. I highly recommend reading this post about some features that the child shares with Levi’s side of the Ackerman clan.
I just love how this one image of Historia being pregnant in the anime with ridiculously long hair makes her resemble Levi’s own mother, Kuchel, who had long hair as well. And Kuchel has dark eyes here.

Home is Where (a ghost nest #1)
november 7th, 4:47 am pst.
in all sincerity;
this interview was birthed from the innate fear of death. for what it is to ‘be a ghost’, beyond having the ability to slam doors after your passing, isn’t truly defined. a trait consistent throughout the many interpretations of angels, spirits, paranormal and such is the presence felt being an essence lost in time. ‘who’ a person is stops at their death. all human aspects stripped, ghosts work as an echo of a fading past; something more akin to a message in a bottle than an entity still living.
so, in our lives, do we strive to create essences that continue to build after our deaths? or do we attempt to capture our essences well enough at the moment to make our ghosts stronger? the latter has been adopted for ‘a ghost nest’. i hope, for everybody’s sake, that it isn't explained again. context felt necessary to clear up why these interviews are in a hybrid, ‘Dear Sally’-esque format. what this should be considered, at most, is an exercise in essence on a minuscule scale.
and on november 7th, at approximately 5:10 am pst, brandon macdonald expressed a similar sentiment. ‘tantrum provider’ for Palm Coast-based emo band Home is Where, they noted the name’s function as a subliminal advertisement; so that whenever the proverb it takes from is used, listeners at any moment in time will harken back to sound bleeding with vibrancy. ‘the scientific classification of stingrays’ (topical cover art) carries an urgency somehow familiar, symptomatic of the band stretching their foundations into their own monument. for ninety minutes, unknowingly breaths away from a new president-elect, we had a conversation.
this is Home is Where’s ghost nest.
youtube
So, how long is too long for us not to have a presidential assassination?
Brandon: Um, that’s a good question. I was on a local podcast recently and, funny enough, I didn’t know going into it that they’re sponsored by a financial magazine? I lost my shit finding that out. I was laughing my ass off. I was like, “your financial magazine, right now, is supporting an artist who is a dedicated Marxist. A communist who sees these people on the street and knows that I represent exactly what they’re against”. The song isn’t meant to be about an actual assassination or about Orange Man himself. I wanted it to be a comment on the structure itself, you know, how long living within it does it take before everything builds up and we eventually bite the hand that feeds us?
Protest music that names specific presidents does not age well. Look at 80s punk, besides Dead Kennedys, mentioning Reagan. You know, what was the name of that compilation against Bush? The intention was to write a protest song that lasts longer than a presidency. Also, it was easier from a lyric-writing perspective, although there are plenty of words that rhyme with Trump. I don’t know about McConnell [laughs].
Videos of ‘stingrays’ live date back to January. Was all the material off the next record written pre-quarantine?
All of it. We were sitting on this material for a while, and we went into the studio in early April. We wanted to pump something out before, you know, the end of the world happened. So we got those done, it was mastered around May, and now we are waiting for a few more parts to be sent in. That’s no worries, it’s been a difficult time for all of us. The original plan wasn’t even to drop a single for ‘i became birds’. 2021 was coming up and we hadn’t released anything this year, so ‘stingrays’ felt like the most direct and obvious choice.
In the world, how do you see both your personal presence & Home is Where’s presence?
You know, I don’t leave the house much. If I do, I wear a mask. I go to work. I spend time with my cat. I hang out with my girlfriend when I can, as we’re pretty much on opposite schedules. The band hasn’t been up to much. We haven’t met since May and we’ve all faced changes in our individual lives, but at some point, when or if the chaos comes to an end, we’ll be playing together again. In terms of Home is Where? We’re an emo band from Florida. There’s plenty of those. This might be a pretty trash take, but a lot of the bands in the scene comment on liberalism, and you can only gain so much by listening to it. You should spend your time reading theory, doing something actually important, so you’d be able to make a change in the world. So, in the grand scheme of things, Home is Where is not important. However, it is something I love and am fortunate enough to do.

Dear Brandon, of Home is Where. I’m having trouble finding my own space when stuck home with my family. What should I do?
Charley, in Pennsylvania.
------------------------------------------------
Brandon: Is this referring to COVID?
I’m pretty sure it is.
. Okay, I think I have an answer for this.
In terms of finding your own space, just find something you’re passionate about and, fucking, dive headfirst into it. A few years back, around the time we started to get serious with the band, I was in a position where I didn’t have a job but I had enough saved up so that it was a few months until I had to worry about rent. With all the time I had, I wanted to buckle down and get really into something I wanted to learn everything about emo. You know, I knew Rites of Spring were the ones who started the genre and some of the stuff about the 90s, but I wanted to know all of it. There were 2000 emo albums that I downloaded and I listened through all of them. Everyone inspired me. Not all of them were good, no. Some were bad, but by listening to them, I knew exactly what I didn’t want to do. It helped clarify what I wanted Home is Where to sound like.
Find something you’re passionate about. You know, reading theory, making art, do something that makes at home in your home. You can do so many great things.
Do you have any song recommendations for this situation?
I have two! The first is, well, you can never go wrong with Cap’n Jazz. Pioneers, truly some of the greats. Tim Kinsella is a genius; I do my best to take what I can from him. It’s him and Bob Dylan. The song is We Are Scientists! (by Cap’n Jazz). I believe some of the lyrics do touch upon that feeling of being stuck around other people. Like, “starchy product scripted people I never asked to care about”? “you can’t look at the sky without looking right through it”? Those lines are, mwah, chef’s kiss!
The second is H.S. by Plunger. Let me pull up the lyrics to this. It’s another one that comments directly on feeling isolated from those around you. Here it is; “All these old faces/Smiling and laughing/But you’ll never leave fourteen”. Yeah, that seems to sum up the emotion this person expressed.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ebdeb4bf10f1f9ebe46524d1bd4964ed/8efe42be8dcdf53c-00/s540x810/d013ddcea5b3ab2e56ff7ecb3446d95410890d03.jpg)
Dear Brandon, of Home is Where. Things recently ended with a person I had been seeing. I hurt them, didn’t communicate my feelings properly, and I feel like garbage for it. I leave the continent for 5 months in a few weeks, and I want to reach out before I leave, but also I want to give her space? Should I wait and see if she reaches out? I’m a dumb stupid idiot. Dumb stupid idiot, in Maine.
------------------------------------------------
‘Dumb stupid idiot’ [laughs]. That truly is an emo question. I am sorry to hear that you’re going through that. That sucks, man. Heartbreak sucks. I wish you the best in leaving the country during COVID times, seeing as that might be difficult, and hopefully, it opens your eyes to new things.
My one piece of advice is to give it time. I know a few years seems like a lot of time, but it really isn’t. There are moments where I, too, indulge in being derogatory towards myself. Home is Where has lyrics about feeling alienated, being hard on yourself. A few years ago, I moved back to the town I grew up in, and even though it was considered ‘home’, I didn’t feel that. It was tough. Eventually, over time, everything came together. You just gotta wait and look back when you’re in a better headspace,
You’re going overseas, you have so many new experiences ahead of you. Who knows, maybe you two will end up working out, we’ll see. You got this. I’m rooting for ya.
Do you have any song recommendations?
I came up with three, actually. One isn’t emo or anything close to adjacent, so I added another to compensate.
I Love You Too by Rainer Maria is the first one. It’s hard to find emo that deals straight up with a break-up, there isn’t much out there, but Rainer Maria stuck out. This song is killer. That entire EP is killer. One of the best emo bands ever.
Idiot Wind by Bob Dylan is my second recommendation. Which is not emo, but in terms of break-up songs, it doesn’t get much better than this. Blood on the Tracks is fucking brutal; Dylan puts blame on pretty much everything.
The other emo song is from, I want to say, around 2000 or 2001? Near the end of that 90s, ‘second wave’ emo, whatever it is considered. The song is For Meg by On the Might of Princes. It’s about Meg Griffin from Family Guy. No, it’s not. Actually, I am not sure, but this track has just about everything; it’s lo-fi, has some screams, and the lyrics seem to discuss a heartbreak;
”This is for you. to hold you close, to keep you Close to my heart. I'll scream it til your ears bleed You'll always have a friend in me”
Great, great emo that gets heavy. They’re the only emo band that Brave Little Abacus cited as an influence on their sound. You should definitely check them out.

IT'S PRIDE MONTH
for a moment there I accidentally had Pierce's photo under Marian's name oop
Time to officially confirm some AU canon LGBT stuff! Each character is their own pride flag but I'll add in other stuff that's canon in universe plus some bonus stuff at the bottom.
First up is Freddy Fazbear Jr! Gay all the way.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8876c353f62b89e53b634507c34b7751/d7c836076404dee0-8d/s540x810/70c4a8635c738d7494b6e41375578ae0f5e14c18.jpg)
He's definitely the "move I'm gay" type
Was honestly super freaked out to tell his dad but went with the bold approach of bringing home his first boyfriend and blatantly announcing their relationship as such as a challenge and was honestly surprised his dad wasn't bothered by it
He was around 13 at the time and so the twins and Fred were still in touch with Maddie's parents and brother. All three were incredibly supportive (and still would be)
He absolutely had a crush on Bonnie Burnette even though he had never talked to him. Since the twins and Bonnie went to the same high school he knew of Bonnie, thought he was a dreamboat, but because Bonnie was somehow in with the popular kids (it was the money 100%) Freddy didn't even bother
Frankie Fazbear! My ace son! (The ears are wrong blame the app lol)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/49bbb221d6955721656cb5853ee9c1c5/d7c836076404dee0-ad/s540x810/ea8f98b13c10582d6d41f5624d6679cf561604ff.jpg)
Honestly doesn't even know he's ace until much later
He's had crushes before but he's never been in a relationship (part of it is the attempt to communicate since he's mute sort of stops him)
He wasn't even sure it was worth mentioning to his dad so Fred never knew
This boy can hold so much love in his heart but he's not a very physical person that's all
Fred Fazbear Sr! YES. HE'S BI.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0a843062dfa6e8837c695f196132bd07/d7c836076404dee0-41/s540x810/912456b8b486495f9a53416d1e9bad962da1284c.jpg)
Only Maddie even knew he was bi. That he knew of. Some people probably figured it out with his over the top always on personality.
Fred was constantly sure that Pierce picked up on it particularly after the Christmas mistletoe fiasco but if Pierce gave a shit he never said anything.
Frankly it was amazing that more people didn't pick up on it. He was over the top about everything until a point.
While he didn't overreact to his son very blatantly announcing he had a boyfriend, he was very proud of him. It was a very Fazbear family way to come out. Even though he got so distant, he was always proud of his boys.
Bonnie Burnette! Also bi!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ea705b31cfcaf46385ab9fe7a8156161/d7c836076404dee0-01/s540x810/106c7efedeb444d569141addbdb2b6a47be7007f.jpg)
Being constantly surrounded by the popular crowd and always being the sort of stand out with purple hair and stupid purple bunny ears didn't do much to make Bonnie feel like he could even tell anyone he was bi.
Really the only reason he was even in the popular crowd was he was rich.
It made him less of a target for bullies at least cause the jocks wouldn't stand for anyone messing with him.
Knew Frankie from math class and honestly wished he could have talked to the quiet kid with bear ears as an alternative to the entirety of the popular group
Sort of in the background of the AU story very quietly develops a crush on Freddy and then thinks "oh God I like the troublemaker NO"
Chandler Cicily! Lesbian!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/722e7e0dee90945f7f867f25af1f9b4f/d7c836076404dee0-37/s540x810/f6b7b786f174e41baa0655aed20ff0ef42c3a676.jpg)
Would absolutely describe her sexuality as "girls"
She's starting to discover it during the AU (even if it's not a topic that comes up but that's why there's this post about stuff lmao).
She's the baby of the group since she's 16 when the story starts and relationships aren't important to her yet
But the crew still support her when later she's like "maybe I just wanna bake things for a cute girl and let her put flowers in my hair is that too much to ask" (Marian always chimes in with "mood")
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3d53e51beb36392e6dd1d9459463ebbc/d7c836076404dee0-8b/s540x810/fe79b3ec3fd80904cd4c92e80b878657d981ed62.jpg)
Marian Mengele! An absolute bi icon!
Listen, her one goal in life may be to find her lost childhood friend, but that doesn't mean she's solely interested in this one Irish redhead
That said she's definitely only dated redheads
She's not afraid to be open about her orientation. It doesn't bother her. She's seen as weird already what can it hurt.
That said she falls for Finn so goddamn fast when she finds him that she questions herself and then is like "no wait I'm definitely not straight"
She's very upfront with Finn about it. There's no reason to hide this from him (or anyone) and if they're a thing she wants him to know.
Finn being the wonderful human being still loves her and it doesn't bother him. Why should it? He's just happy to be with someone who loves him.
Chetana might be Chandler's fake big sister but Marian is like fake mama when it comes to Chandler finally coming out.
God bless Finn for being the kind of person to sit and let Marian braid his hair with flowers because that's one of Marian's favorite things to do when her partner has longer hair and Finn's never really bothered with keeping his hair short THESE TWO ARE ICONIC I love them
Pierce Graves! A shitty pansexual icon
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/8123bc55cb1014172b6dfeeb3c9a5bdd/d7c836076404dee0-46/s540x810/8aec5e267729937bc515ca0d10d7d00686431b20.jpg)
First off he absolutely knew that Fred wasn't 100% straight he had no idea how it wasn't immediately obvious to everyone
That said Pierce literally did not give a shit who knew about his sexuality
As shitty as his whole personality was he could turn on the charm easily
His parents definitely knew but he was already a punk ass rebellious teen at the time so they have him the "be careful, don't get anyone pregnant" talk and worried from afar. If it bothered them, Pierce never knew because they made sure that he could still count on them (even though at the time Pierce didn't really talk to them much about anything)
Fred absolutely knew though I mean they were good friends
He's not a romantic. He's never really had a meaningful relationship because he's not that type of person. To be honest, there's a piece of him that saw relationships that worked and wondered how that would feel but he knew that wasn't for him. He figured that out way early on when he asked his granddad why he didn't have a grandma and Mortimer Graves didn't sugarcoat the answer. "She wasn't happy with me. I gave her the choice. She could stay and be miserable with my lack of a decent personality even though I was already struggling to not be such an ass or she could go and find someone who actually made her happy. She chose happiness, and while it sucks that she drifted out of my life and your dad's, she's better off."
Pierce could frankly always tell that he was more like his granddad and as much as he sometimes wanted to know if he could even out up with a meaningful relationship, he avoided it. Better to not hurt anyone and wonder than to become the catalyst for someone else to overcome, right?
Fritz Smith! Gay!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/27bae1a7ae931646e11085253402680e/d7c836076404dee0-71/s540x810/b443fda80e7cad3c236891c4da1edb7ed3ec7f7f.jpg)
The shy bumbling mechanic of the early 90s Freddy's ? Gay? It's more likely than you think
He was still far in the closet in the 90s He was young, living at home still because he had just gotten out of school, and while his parents weren't super conservative, he also didn't know how they'd take it
Found a friend in the day guard Mike Schmidt early on. Mike was looking for a roommate since his last one had moved out and Fritz jumped at the chance
They are like totally boyfriends by the time they cameo in the story though
Mike Schmidt! Another gay icon!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cdd6bd19c7f52b827a04d813bb71c1f4/d7c836076404dee0-39/s540x810/d3215fb9abc83b66401b9434cc4f95f85744cd81.jpg)
Mostly invited Fritz to live at his apartment because he felt bad that this poor shy mechanic was getting constantly harangued about the animatronics having problems
Was glad to let Fritz complain about it and even cry it was very stressful but Fritz needed the money
Mike liked him. It would be hard not to really. Fritz was a sweetheart.
Mike didn't ask him out till much later though he wasn't quite sure that Fritz was gay and didn't want to ruin their friendship.
Luckily it didn't and as it turns out they worked well in a relationship.
Fritz's parents had to take some time to get used to it when finally Fritz got the nerve to tell them but as soon as they did there was no end of support from them
Mike's parents were the opposite which was mainly why he already lived by himself but oh well he got a cute boyfriend and cool parents-in-law later it was kind of a win

Presenting Maddie's older brother!
outside universe fact, he's loosely based in my actual cousin who lives in California with his husband.
He's 7 years older than Maddie was. Despite that, they were still close. Maddie's parents wanted more kids but struggled to get the two they had.
He's an accountant for a corporation and his boyfriend (and later his husband) is a pilot.
Last time he saw his nephews in person was at Maddie's funeral. He misses them terribly but over the years less and less contact came from his brother in law
Sometime in 2006 though he ends up getting a call from his nephews and there's this great reunion.
He's just. This chill older guy. Who loves his family. And doesn't care what people think.
Since I can't put anymore photos, here's the bonus content!
-as mentioned last night Dr. Phillip Guy is on the ace spectrum. I don't have anymore details about that at the moment unfortunately.
-Charlie Emily is a lesbian. The Emily twins were born in 1980. They haven't appeared in the AU yet even as cameos but they exist. Considering in AU canon the Emily family is alive and well in Hurricane, Utah without an Afton to be found, Charlie's dating her childhood friend Jessica at around the time the AU events are happening.
-Sammy Emily is trans and bi. Both Henry and his wife (who I know I at one point named but don't remember what it is anymore) love their two daughters to pieces.
That said I'll make a post at a later point introducing the Emily family because so far I've only officially given the design for Henry and not the rest.
In line with canon, Spring Bonnie/Springtrap can be counted as gay.
While Fred kept the shows at the diner pretty simple and straightforward, there was definitely this subtle underlying idea that Spring Bonnie and Fredbear were a content gay couple although if asked it was easy to present them as friends. At least, that was during '81-'82
However!
Fred also had Henry help him program in a special one time only song called Springtime for his and Maddie's anniversary in 1983, which was of course a love song. Fred always thought of that as being mostly for his wife, and partially as a turning point thematically for the two characters.
Henry was on board with this. They still kept it subtle, but there were clear moments where it was pretty much certain that the only way to interpret Spring Bonnie and Fredbear was as a couple. It was either so subtle that no one was bothered or Spring Bonnie's chosen voice was so ambiguously non-binary that no one thought it was odd.
Fred had plans for it to become more "canon" but never got to implement them since Spring Bonnie got damaged before he could.
Springtrap, being sentient and able to later interpret his emotions, is very confused about how he as a machine was meant to feel about this character he knew but the more sentient he becomes the more aware he is that he misses Fredbear and that he loved him. It's the cause of a lot of internal conflict for him. But he can be counted in the category of LGBT characters in the AU.
Happy pride month ya'll! 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈

Call Me by Your Name (2017) — Luca Guadagnino
Elio and Oliver’s love story breathes summer. This film could easily be in different lists for various reasons because even being a famous topic touched in movies before, it’s freshly approached along the whole film. Sometimes, it’s not that relevant what’s done but how it’s done. In “Call me by your name” Luca Guadagnino shows off his sublime artisan hand. In his film, there’s perfection in every shot, scene, silence or gaze. His directing together with the amazing performance and chemistry between Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer, allow us to be spys and voyeurs of a summer love sotry we barely seen before. There’s electricity in the screen we feel as we feel the forbidden and the rush of testing it. Of extreme sensibility, this film worths being in this list for its amazing and constant shots of nature and stillness under the sun of a small italian village, its river, their baths, the lack of clothes… Anyways, a summery movie with a story that pierces the screen, makes you feel it like your own and remains with you forever. Elio and Oliver exist in the collective imaginary construct and they will always stay in that everlasting summer in Italy...

The Beach (2000) — Danny Boyle
“The Beach” is one of those cases of a movie beaten up by the press and the public when it was released for reasons beyond its quality. The excellent Danny Boyle was coming from changing british cinema with “Trainspotting” and his incursion in Hollywood with Leonardo DiCaprio’s face taking over the poster created all possible expectations and once again, Danny Boyle did what he wanted with the adaptation of Alex Garland’s novel. This way, we travel with Richard, the character played by DiCaprio to Thailand looking for adventures, where he ends up hearing of a heavenly island, barely touched by tourists where a group of travellers established a hippy utopia that quickly haunts DiCaprio’s character. Here, Boyle delivers a dissection of this heaven and its two faces as well as the complexities of the human mind. It’s really interesting to see how this paradise can easily turn into hell, motivated by human nature. The great performances, plot twists, Moby’s music and its beautiful settings involve us and take us to this sunny paradise where we would stay forever… or at least during the first half of the movie.

Spring (2014) — Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead
Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are two american movie directors with a clear inclination and passion towards horror and fantastic genres. Their works had been really interesting so far, with “Spring” being their best work yet. “Spring” is really sunny and has a summery vibe all the way caused mainly by its setting, taking place in an italian village where Evan, a northamerican young man, travels to clear his mind and will end up meeting an attractive woman, Louise, who’s much more interesting than it seems at first. “Spring” is as fantastic as original. I don’t think I’ve ever watched such a movie like this one and for this reason, among others, it always had a special place in my memory. It would be worthed it being in numerous lists for its mix of really well balanced genres. Nevertheless, its best quality is its intelligent script and how well portrayed their characters are. The situations lived by Evan in the movie when he gets to Italy and the easiness to empathize with him, his trips and his emotions are what makes us stay and follow him through the movie. His love story is what move us and its original narrative and mix of genres what makes it difficult to forget.

The Fall (2006) — Tarsem Singh
This Indian production is a hidden jewel directed by Tarsem Singh for 4 years and in 28 different countries. It is an epic story full of fantasy that I would have loved hearing as a child, and yet that's what I became when I first saw it. I would highlight Lee Pace and Catinca Untaru’s acting, the two protagonists, who manage to give an incredible intrigue to the film. But I must talk about the landscapes... The setting and cinematography, dominated by scenes under the scorching sun of the Middle East, present us an audiovisual spectacle at the height of the film’s exoticness. A truly entertaining film that will delight our inner child, that will make us travel to the limits of our imagination.

"Le Mépris" shows us the crack that opens in the relationship of a couple, we witness the terrible consequences of the simplest scratch if it’s not repaired, helping us to understand how important sincere communication is. Godard combines this story with metacinema, since everything revolves around the commission that Paul Javal (Michel Piccoli) receives to participate in the next film by the german director Fritz Lang (who plays himself). Here the sunny vibes come into play: the film’s location is the italian island of Capri, an idyllic setting in the Mediterranean Sea with perfect sunny weather. We attended this fatal misunderstanding as one more member of the production team thanks to the direction of Godard, who shows us a most summery setting. It is difficult to forget the masterful soundtrack of Georges Delerue, the beauty of the surroundings, the sensual and hurt gaze of Camille (Brigitte Bardot) or Paul's walks under the sun.

Midsommar (2019) — Ari Aster
Despite taking away the desire for a European folk festival as the movie goes on, Ari Aster manages to set his film in the lingering sun. It is well known that darkness is an element to be taken into account in the horror genre, even in any other genre it is a widely used resource to provoke feelings of anguish, fear or uncertainty. In “Midsommar” it’s not like that, in this film we feel everything and more without missing details due to lack of light. In this summery and calm-looking environment we won’t miss a single detail, events are predicted before we see them on screen. The staging of Aster is masterful in this regard, making us aware of the ins and outs of his film and making evident what can happen, we writhe in our seat. Great psychological terror, not suitable for sensitive stomachs, that will make us travel to a remote village in Sweden during the summer solstice.

Sublime production as an incursion into the colombian culture. "Pájaros de verano" is a film that can have several readings. Set in the 70s, it shows the beginning of drug trafficking and how an indigenous family from the Guajira desert copes with this situation. With the growing demand for drugs, the money reaches a family that is facing for the first time the ambition of excessive power that bills ignite in people. A reading on the origin of modern development and its impact on ancient cultures. With a spectacular cinematography and a contained rhythm, it reminds me of a Nicolas Winding Refn exchanging neon and pop style for the harshness of the tradition. It is as slow and violent as it is sunny, so have plenty sunscreen.

My Reviews and Thoughts on Little Women and the Many Adaptations
To start off I have been reading the Little Women series since I was 8 I think, and I’ve been watching the 1994 version since I was 6. It wasn’t until recently that I finally watched the 1949 and the modern 2018 adaptations ( I watched the BBC/PBS mini series last year, and I do re-watch it every now and then). I still have to watch the 1933 version, which I plan to do when I find the time. I have also been re-reading the books because I am excited for Greta Gerwig’s adaptation even though I am not a fan of some of the stuff she’s been saying about a couple of the characters (but some of my fears have been relieved! Yeah!). In this long post I will post my thoughts on the novel(s) themselves, Louisa, and the adaptations that I have seen.
I will start with the one I am very familiar with: the 1994 version! I have loved this movie since the first time I watched it. It’s a tradition to watch it multiple of times around the Christmas season with my mom, and every now and then I will watch it whenever I feel like it. Since I graduated as a theatre and film student watching films and analyzing characters, their world, decisions, the themes and motifs have been really eye opening. I’ve been devouring books since I was a kid, trying to write my own novels, and I’ve made a couple of short films. When it comes to adapting a screenplay from a book there are a lot of decisions to be made: what to keep, what to cut, what to condense, does the order of things need to be changed, and what original creative content can we put in? 1994 is a really, really good adaptation of the novel, with some minor flaws, a questionable original content decision, and how the screenwriter and director put Louisa into Jo. The cinematography and music is gorgeous, the house looks lived in, and the whole atmosphere screams late American 19h century.
The acting, for the most part, is right on character and Winona did such a great job as Jo! Trini did wonderful a Meg and I liked how we got more of Meg because she’s important too. Claire Danes was a fabulous Beth (though she looks older than 14; I always thought she was 16 or 17...), while Kirsten did a fun, spoiled Amy...but she did ham it up a bit too much at times. Samantha...I did not like one bit as older Amy. Laurie was great in the first 2/3 of the movie but once he hit Europe I didn’t like how they [tried] to develop his character. His romance with Amy fell flat, which I was sad to see. Gabriel was a really good Fritz...I just didn’t like how they made them date while Jo was in New York. I understand it because the proposal at the end of the movie makes it really romantic, but the whole purpose of Jo/Fritz and Jo falling in love was that she was blind to it: she falling in love with a man. They start off as boarding house neighbors, then student/teacher, which quickly turns into friendship of equals, and it’s not until Jo is at home missing Fritz that she begins to realize her feelings. And when Fritz comes to court Jo she blushes! Despite this I’m a sucker for romance and still love Jo/Fritz despite my feelings on the adaptation choices. Marmee and Aunt March were on point and I loved how the actresses were their characters.
Now moving onto the 2017 mini series. I like this adaptation, and have watched it a few times, but there are things that just bug me and drive me crazy, and moments that I love. This is the only adaptation that does not have have Jo’s plays or the Pickwick society. I hate this and it was a poor adaptation choice in my opinion. This series really should have been at least 6 episodes and not the measly 3 that it was. Despite this the series did include moments from the book that either haven’t been adapted before, or it was just mentioned. I love how we see Beth get the courage to go to Mr. Lawerence to play the piano and their relationship. They really should have gotten a young Amy and an older looking Beth: the girls look the same age from episode 1 to 3, which especially doesn’t work for Amy. Maya did a good Jo and it’s actually impressive for her first screen role, but she did lack some of Jo’s qualities (she is way better as Robin in Stranger Things). Emily did a good job as Marmee. Anne was another really great Beth, and I have to say her freckles seem to give the character substance. Kate’s Amy was good but like Elizabeth Taylor in the 1949 version, she was not believable as young Amy. (I’ve heard Florence Pugh is amazing and a scene stealer but even if she can act like young Amy (and based on the clips she can), her womanly body will not let her be believable).
I like how Beth’s kittens made a lot of screen time (I love kittens!) and how they did the Hummel’s house: it was just like how the book described it. All of those little children did a great job at looking hungry, cold, and scared. Makes me wonder about Mrs. Hummel’s husband (I need to find that part and re-read it). I loved how the included Camp Laurie, Cousin Flo, and Laurie trying to kiss Jo. The wedding between Meg and John Brooke was sweet, esp Aunt March giving her the pearls. I crack each time I see Aunt March’s parrot (was that in the book? Man I haven’t gotten far into my re-reading of the whole book; it’s been awhile), and how we got to see how close Jo and Beth are. They tried their best in portraying Amy/Laurie, and Mark Stanley as Fritz: he was Fritz from the book! (He looks a lot younger without that bushy beard though; that’s the one thing about Fritz I can’t stand haha). It’s too bad that Jo/Fritz was so rushed in episode 3: their relationship and Fritz was barely developed. (Though they did include a lot from the book like the Weekly Volcano and Jo’s poem that brought Fritz to her). Laurie in general was not Laurie; maybe in the Laurie who wants to play all the time but that’s it. Not Laurie.
Now onto the 1949 version. I fell in love with this adaptation, flaws and all. It was very charming, had some great acting, however a lot happened off screen, some characters/moments were rushed, and I can’t believe June was 31 years old! And that Elizabeth Taylor was pregnant. It doesn’t bother me that they made Beth the youngest because Margaret did such a fabulous job as Beth. I loved all other scenes, her relationship with Jo and Mr. Lawerence in particular. This is the only version I’ve seen where the sisters buy Marmee gifts with their 1 dollar bill, and I liked how it was a surprise and quite moment. The actress who played Marmee was amazing and Aunt March cracked me up. I didn’t care for Laurie in this version either. And like I said with the 2017 mini series: they really needed to have an actress play young Amy. Elizabeth did a really good job, don’t get me wrong, but she definitely seemed way older. The hot Italian actor as Fritz was sure an interesting choice. I wish they would’ve just made Fritz Italian and just changed his name slightly (I believe Greta made Fritz French in her version since Louis Garrel is French), and I also wish he could’ve been in the movie more! Since he was close in age to June I just wanted to see them on screen more. Yes he doesn’t look one bit like Fritz in the book, and call me shallow, but I honestly don’t care in this version. Back then - and sadly to this day - Hollywood cares about looks. That’s why I love Mark Stanly as Fritz in the 2017 because he physically is Fritz. But still...anyways I am going slightly off topic.
So. The 2018 modern adaptation. This should have either been a Hallmark movie or a Netflix movie. This movie should have never been released theatrically and that’s why it bombed horrible. I mean it bombed horribly in a lot of aspects and areas, but it does have some great scenes! It’s all in the detail. They have their castle’s in the sky for one. All of Jo’s plays and the Pickwick society and how it changed to be of a platoon. I just love the attic scenes in this movie. I also love how Jo is writing fantasy stories and a fantasy novel and it’s sad that she can’t be taken seriously because there are great fantasy novelists! Tolkien, JK Rowling, G RR Martin for example. That really bothered me. I do like how Fritz is an actual professor at a university and becomes Jo’s editor and mentor, how that develops into friendship, but to me the romance aspect of their relationship falls flat somewhat. I like how they had a younger Amy and an older Amy, but I honestly got confused at first because there were younger versions of all the sisters (and it’s unbelievable that three of them would look the same with the 13 year gap). This version did a flashback style so it will be interesting to see how Greta did hers. The editing for this movie was all over the place and chaotic. I didn’t like Lucas as Laurie one bit, I get how they would go to parties but I hated those scenes (it was a good wake up call for Meg though). Beth fell short in this movie and so did Amy to an extent. You don’t really get to know John Brooke, or even their Marmee all that much. And really, Marmee? In a modern adaptation they should’ve just stuck with Mom. I did like how Jo buzzed her hair off in support of Beth (there is a good graphic novel that came out recently that’s set in the modern world and there are few similar choices. There’s also a book called Meg and Jo - Amy and Beth will come out later next year - that makes some interesting choices to say the least when adapting the novel into modern times. Anyways...), and how they had their father over seas in the army. I honestly need to watch this movie again to really critique it, but I honestly think it could’ve been a great movie...the script needed more rewrites, it needed a director who knew what they were doing, a better editor, and honestly some better actors. The potential was there, it has it moments, but it fell.
To conclude this rather blog like post (and kudos to all who have read the whole thing) I will take just a little bit on my views on Louisa herself and Greta’s version. Louisa didn’t want to write a book for children, and when she did she wrote a semi-autobiographical novel that she leaves on a cliff hanger. In my mind she meant to continue the story, but she wanted to see what the reader’s thought. She did put the story out of her mind for awhile, until the book had to go into reprints and she got hounded with fan mail and fans in general. Yes she didn’t want Jo to marry because she herself never did (from what I’ve read she did have one sided crushes and probably a few second romances that didn’t last long, but she also never saw herself as desirable; she comes across to be as maybe being aromatic asexual, demisexual, or bi). She was a bit of Germanophile, along with Europe in general, and that’s why from the first few pages of LW there’s German everywhere. Which this means that Friedrich Bhaer was probably planned in one way or another. Louisa never wanted Jo to be with Laurie because they were close like siblings and loved each other that way. Laurie thought himself in love with Jo, but Jo does bring up good points: they would quarrel and end up being unhappy because he honestly didn’t like her scribbling. Amy makes Laurie grow up and those two match each other perfectly. Fritz is a perfect match for Jo because he treats her like an equal, he helps with her writing, and she gets to be apart of a society she loves.
I have been relieved from my fears (for the most part) about how Fritz will be portrayed and the Jo/Fritz romance. We do meet him right away since we start in the present before going back and forth between past and present until the timelines match up. Greta is the only person to adapt the New Year’s Dance, which I am really excited to see. I haven’t been told if Fritz’s nephews are mentioned or seen. I know he gives her advice, but not if he teaches her his language (which I assume to be French in this version), that they do get into a fight, and that he comes to court her at her house. I was worried the umbrella proposal scene was going to be changed, but I’ve been told it’s in and it’s romantic. And then there’s Amy/Laurie! I am so glad that this relationship seems to be fully developed. I can’t wait to see everyone as their character and how Greta did the back and forth.
I am worried though about a few things: how if one isn’t familiar with the story they get confused at first with the back and forth, some of the costume choices, the acting in certain scenes, some scenes or moment being cut or condensed for time because this is a movie not a mini series, and I just wish that Fritz - Louis - could’ve been in the trailers more with more promotion. I understand why...at least Louis understands his character. Greta mentioned something that Fritz basically had to be a prize to be won and oh boy: no one is a prize to be won. And putting a lot of Louisa into Jo...I’m worried about that. Sure the 1994 version had a Louisa quote that Jo’s says about voting, but this seems like it might be too hammered in. I guess once I see the film I will finally know (and write my review and thoughts), because I can read all the critic reviews, interviews, Q and A’s I want but it’s up to me on whether or not I’ll like it or love, and I sure hope I’ll love it.
The is the end. Thanks for reading. Let me know your thoughts.
