Seems Kaeya’s vision has 3 wings on each side now and is a combination of Mondstadtian vision and Khaenri’ah’s 8-pointed star. Except instead of two points there are wings on the bottom part. I’m very normal about it

no but actually. the parallels to other Twins in different nations of teyvat in relation to the traveler and their desire to reunite with their own sibling makes me a little bit bonkers. like.

diluc and kaeya as what the traveler has and fears, after we will be reunited [separation born from conflict that seemingly cannot be mended; they both care for each other but ultimately their opposing ideals mean they cannot be at each other's side in the same way that they used to, and no longer have the close bond they once did]

ei and makoto as what the abyss sibling experienced [a crushing loss not just of one's twin but the last remaining friend they had and the safety and security of their nation, coming out the other side traumatized, cold and jaded and making decisions that will ultimately hurt the people they claim to want to protect for the sake of an unattainable goal]

and lyney and lynette as what the traveler and the abyss twin used to have before they were separated [never apart for long, home is wherever we are together], what the traveler wants [their separation brief and quickly amended, continuing to be inseparable after they reunite], and also the choice they'll have to make [the twins being together in an organization the traveler inherently doesn't trust - does the traveler want to be by their sibling's side badly enough to throw their lot in with the abyss, and turn their back on everyone else they've met on their journey so far?]

Kaeya who has dealt with headaches and migraines all his life thanks to his fucked up eye curse

Kaeya who Diluc and Crepus would chastise for not getting up in the mornings when really he was just experiencing pain he was unable to communicate

Kaeya who had to learn that being in too much pain to function was not and option for him

Kaeya who gets called a “slacker” because he can’t simultaneously pretend to be okay and be a useful member of society, so he does his work in the shadows where his weakness can’t be perceived

Kaeya who spends his nights drinking because alcohol works better than painkillers

Kaeya who Jean doesn’t understand but tries to be kind to as she gives him time off for reasons she doesn’t understand and he won’t explain

Kaeya who Lisa gives tea instead of wine because she understands firsthand what herbs help with pain

Kaeya who Klee hugs as he struggles in pain because she cares about him even if she doesn’t understand why he’s hurting

Kaeya who finally tells Diluc the truth after decades of hiding it, expecting mockery, but instead finding solace and comfort in his once estranged brother as he realizes he doesn’t have to suffer through this alone

Kaeya who immediately regrets this as Diluc now cuts him off earlier at the bar and forces him to “go home and get some rest” instead

thinking about a ill-meaning outlander coming to mondstadt looking for cracks in diluc's proverbial armor

hearing of a crafty guy who works in the shadows and is publicly on bad terms with diluc

sidling up to the guy at the cat's tail and attempting to ply the calvary captain for information, letting slip a calculated jab about 'the old clan having a little too much power around here' after a few drinks and kaeya's eye flickering dangerously

the guy trying to build a rapport with kaeya, thinking they're on the same page about the ragnvindrs, maybe even alluding to a group backing him or a plan and suddenly the beer glass in his hand is frozen to his palm...

feeling the sting of ice on his fingers and ears, hearing his pulse drop in pace as hypothermia sets in silently, feeling a hand on his shoulder that digs into him and forces him out of his seat, stumbling towards the alley, and the patrons in front of them parting like curtains because captain kaeya's got that look in his eye again and God forbid they get in the way of justice

kaeya making damn sure not a word of it leaves that room and pretending not to notice the free drink diluc points his way the next time he's at the bar

just like diluc pretends not to care about the note in beautiful handwriting stuck to the forehead of the unconscious, frostbitten guy he finds tied to the angel's share balcony that night

diluc can pretend all he wants that he's in this alone, that only he can watch his own back now, but it gets harder lying to himself on nights like those.

i'm just such a sucker for kaeya purposefully crafting his reputation, reeling in people who mean to do his brother harm, just so he can carry out his version of justice on them when they show their hand,,

Hm? Oh, don’t mind me, just going feral about Kaeya’s hangout :)

This man memorized all his lines and blocking for a play he wasn’t even meant to be in within a half hour, tops. He stood up onstage and addressed his past, his present, and what he hopes to be his future all within a few lines of dialogue (and he looked hot as hell whilst doing so, might I add). He quoted Shakespeare, rejected his destiny, and insulted the gods in one night. And that’s just the best ending… every plotline reveals new insight into our favorite little cavalry captain’s thoughts and woes and I LOVE IT.
