Some vehicle exploration for Visible Spectrum :) did u know drawing cars becomes a lot more fun when you think of them as little guys. its true i swear

Some of my initial loose car studies, mostly referencing photos of older vehicles from around the 50s since Visible Spectrum's world is partially inspired by a lot of midcentury aesthetics!

These were really fun and I actually enjoyed the process a lot more than I thought I would. I found it was helpful to try and not think of cars as being constrained to box proportions or straight lines.

my initial ventures into attempting to stylize cars into having one 'eye!' Not referenced from any particular photos, but instead cross-referencing different vehicles and pulling aspects that I liked / that I thought would work for these designs. Experimented in some of these with how tail lights might look (vaguely. lol) as well as how to make these cars look expressive (one of the more fun parts of this process)!

I don't like how a lot of that last set looks but I think its fun to look at where the initial planning began to where the final image ended up

Did my first Formula C practice, qualify, and race and got first place!

The team i'm with is in 3rd though. Teammate AI driver didn't do so hot (which is fine like, small steps to getting Team Gold and all)

I'm surprised I picked up the pacing quite quickly though I'm still having trouble starting when there's cars all around me (ANXIETY :'] ), but I'm gonna get the hang of the AI settings I placed in as well as might change them to better suit how I want to play this game (mostly chill but do wanna win so it's on a fairly easy difficulty setting).

The thing I'm also adjusting is like...the screen I'm using now isn't the screen I used to play this game on and it's smaller width wise so everything feels SO DAMNED CLOSE when it also really ain't.

As far as the tuning mechanics go, I'm just gonna leave the tyres up to the pc to figure out mostly (like...Unless there's a VERY specific way to have the tyres pressure and...agh I forgot the second important setting), but in general It's gonna have to be a Per Car/Per Track/Per Weather basis.

I'm gonna hate wet/rainy weather so goddamn much >.<

the reason im so fixated on ducks right now is because i discovered how fucking fascinating it can be to watch them. like ok u go to a park and u see like 400 mallards. boring! but then you find out that there's domestic ducks. then you find out ducks hybridize a lot more than other birds. then you find out about how to spot intersex ducks. that boring looking mallard? it's actually a female gadwall or an american black duck!

basically there's a lot of cool stuff you can find if you just sit down and look carefully :)

hii i noticed in your recent post you said you didn’t think anyone would give you an ocd diagnosis because your room is untidy. i’m sorry to tell you this, but hoarding/extreme clutter is often a symptom of ocd as well. i do think it’s worth talking to someone about, even if it’s not ocd or if they can’t “diagnose” anything. a lot of neurodivergencies overlap and some methods for treating it could still help you! my anxiety was a weird, wicked shape that didn’t get better with “panic disorder” treatment, so my therapist treated it as ocd and it helped me a lot. you deserve relief!

anyways just wanted to hop in and say that because it was advice that helped me a long time ago. i hope you find something that helps you, mental health is definitely tough to navigate at times

I just wanted to thank you both for the advice and clarification! 💖 I definitely want to see a professional and figure out precisely what is going on with me so I can get treatment, because whether or not it’s OCD it’s become fairly clear to me that anxiety meds alone aren’t cutting it
