cooper howard/the ghoul x f!reader
rated e - 2.3k
tags: cooper pov, jealous and possessive!reader, sort-of alternate timeline (ft. a fo4 character), cooper is an ass, partners-with-benefits, mutual yearning, light angst, intentional pushing/teasing, soft thoughts, kissing, oral sex, praise kink, biting and marking, come swallowing
a/n: @aliisa-jones left a sweet comment on mine, all mine that got stuck in my head, so this is a âwhat-ifâ situation that I whipped up today, with reader being the jealous one (with Coop & Nora on the other side)!
Cooper canât help the little bark of a laugh when he realizes - disbelief woven into the sharp sound that spills from him.
Goddamn. His little wastelander might just be jealous.
Cooperâs always been a perceptive man. Able to read people when it mattered - a real helping hand during his time in Hollywood.
Even more so now - gun drawn and ready before theyâre even figuring their own conclusion. Twisting the situation to his benefit.
So he doesnât know why it took him so damn long this time.
Two days to notice, after they picked up that Vaultie. Made from before - like he was - on her way to New Vegas.
A pinch of curiosity had plucked at him with her addition, but nothing more. Had been a rare indulgence to have someone understand all the shit he says, unable to help the occasional age-old idioms that have still lingered inside his mind.
But something about her had set you on edge. Heâd thought youâd like her. Two peas in a pod, annoying the shit out of him with idle chatter during the long hours on the road.
You had bristled. Narrowed eyes and distrusting. Wondered if thatâs the way he looked, half the time.
Wasnât until you started to move, that he really noticed. Wandering closer than heâs used to. Finding reasons to pass by him, your ass pressing snug his front. Your pretty tits pushed up against his arm, leaning close to ask him something.
Pretty eyes blinking his way, hanging onto every word.
Riling him up.
Acting like a cat in heat. As if there were pink clouds of perfume drifting off you, spelling out âmineâ as they settled over his clothes.
Funny, once heâs got it figured out.
Not sure how he missed it before.
The jealousy that oozes from you. His eyes going to yours each time that frown crosses your face.
Nora is a handsome woman. Heâs got eyes, after all - yhey hadnât rotted away like the rest of him. Can appreciate where sheâs come from, deep down, though heâd never say it.
But he seen lots of good-looking people throughout his time walking this earth. And even back when he was just a man, that sort of thing never swayed him.
Heâd buried old Cooper Howard some two hundred years ago. A mercy - tucking his corpse away deep in the labyrinth of his soul, as the Ghoul was reborn into rot and ruin.
A place he isnât sure how to get to anymore, but sometimes thereâs still bits of him that linger. Flowers sprouting up through concrete.
Loyal, perhaps, in spite of it all. When it suits him.
Besides, it's been a while since heâs tasted fruit so sweet. Biting down until youâre gushing against his tongue. Supposed heâs not looking to ruin a good thing.
But despite all that, he decides lets it all play out. Amused at the thought.
Seeing where it goes.
Letâs himself appear at-ease, when Nora slinks closer. A cocked brow bone at the low purr of her voice as they pick through an old house - clearing it for the night.
You mod that yourself?â Her eyes drag slowly across him, down to the holster that rests at his hip, âDidnât take you for a handyman, cowboy.â
âSure did,â Cooper drawls - the shotgun slung across his back held loosely in his hand, as his eye scan the old dining room. âYou pick up a few new things, out here.â
Had to, to survive. His clothes a patchwork of black thread, holding together ripped seams. Weapons had come next, not like he hadnât had the time to learn.
âCan I see?â
Sheâs reaching for him, and he lets her. His eyes flicking towards you as she slips the gun from his holster, fingers curling around the grip.
âModified MTs255,â He explains, as she turns it over in her hand. Purposeful in the way she moves - with the slow, admiring brush and stroke of fingers, âChanged it from a side-loader to a-"
âTop-break.â She muses with a nod, her shoulder brushing his as she flicks at the lever. A smirk, as she glances his way - her eyebrow lifting this time, âHowâs she handle?â
Thereâs a soft lilt to her voice. Easy to pick up on - especially with the way she smiles, tongue caught between the white of her teeth.
âOh, Iâd say she handles just fine.â He lets the words turn sweet, smooth as honey as they leave his tongue.
You make a frustrated sound, then. A little whine in the back of your throat that he barely catches, before youâre turning sharply on your heel. Stomping off deeper into the house, and he canât help the smirk that curls at the edges of his lips.
âSee for yourself,â He's quick to excuses himself, leaving the gun in Nora's possession. Peeling away from the Vaultie, not sparing her a second glance. If she calls after him - he doesnât hear it.
His steps purposely slow as he follows behind you. Letting you simmer.
You donât notice as he slips in the doorway behind you. A head cocked in interest as you wrench open old cabinets. Breath heavy, a rough hiss between your teeth as your fingers clench into fists against the counter.
âThat'd get you killed.â He comments, idly, âRunninâ off like that.â
A little gasp as you whirl. Your hand doesnât even twitch towards your gun, and he'd not sure if that annoys him. Or if he knows you knew it was him by the low rasp of his voice.
âDidnât think youâd notice,â You sniff, head quick to turn away. Eager to break eye contact, arms crossing tightly over your chest.
A huff of a laugh rumbles in his chest, âNow what makes you say that, sweetheart?â
You blink at him, his spurs jangling as he closes the space. Hands pressing flat on either side of your hips, a flash of teeth as he waits.
âShe-,âYou huff - finger pointing accusatorily, âYou let her-â
Another little sound, as your frown deepens, âHer hands were all over you, and you didnât even care!â
Itâs spat out. A kitten showing her claws, sharp little teeth bared.
Cooper lets his hips press against yours. Your hands brace against his chest, torn between pushing him away and yanking him closer.
âTakes two to tango, sweetheart.â He coos, but you just frown - not understanding.
Something in his favor. An admission you wonât get. That flicker of tenderness lost in the air.
He wonders if youâd still be angry, if you knew how long he roamed the wasteland without knowing the touch of another. That it would take more than a gun-laced innuendo to truly turn his head.
ââSides,â Cooper husks - finger tucking beneath your chin, âWhat are you goinâ to do about it?â
Needling at you. A thumb against a bruise, pressing until it stings.
Your jaw grits. Eyes searching his, fingernails pricking worn leather. Before theyâre sliding up - fitting against his shoulder, around the back of his neck, as you tug him to meet you.
Pressing your lips against his. Itâs possessive - an arch to your body as it curves. Tits pressed to his chest as your tongue flicks against his lower lip.
A rough groan as he parts them, as you seek more. He swallows your whine as his hands roam. Across the fat of your hip, squeezing. Fitting the curve of your waist. Palming at your breast as your hips roll against his.
Needy, in the way you gasp. Little panting breath as his head tilts. As he takes control - pressing you into the counter as he licks into your mouth.
Heâs stayed away, since you picked up this new stray. Put away a lot of people, or put them in the ground. Not about to let someone use you against him.
It had him pent-up, too. Desire red-hot in his belly. Stiffening with the way you rock against him - a part of him craving the touch.
Easy then, to catch your hand. To drag it down, across the leather of his bandoiler, the heavy buckle of his belt. Pressing your palm flush against the heavy curve of his cock.
Rocking into the cup of your fingers, grinfing into your touch.
âThatâs all you, sweetie.â He rasps, and you moan.
Pulling back to look down, as you trace how he strains. The heel of your palm pressing against his clothed, flushed tip, as a low growl rumbles in his throat.
Unable to hide his own need, as his tongue loosens a command.
âWhy donât you show me why I keep you âround.â
Itâs cruel to word it that way. Heâs been trying to scare you away for weeks. Knowing deep down that youâre meant for better things than him. His words now are untrue, even - he knows that.
But you do too, and you donât care - a determination in your eyes, as they reluctantly pull up to his. Still caught on the evidence of his desire.
Fingers already fitting around his buckle - tugging.
âShe might hear.â You breathe, though you donât slow. Not until youâve popped the button. Tugged at the zipper, a hitch in your breath as you draw him out.
He had found you tucked around the corner of the kitchen, close to an old pantry. The window behind peeking out into a long backyard. Facing towards a broken-down swing set, the grass overgrown with thick brush and weeds.
The evening sun casting blue and pink shadows, spilling over your shoulders. The room set deep against the far wall of the house.
No doors to hide behind in a kitchen like that, and youâre right - the sound might just happen to travel.
He grins, all teeth.
âAinât that what you want, darlinâ?â
You inhale a breath.
Desire swirling in your eyes as they meet his. Sinking onto your knees without a second thought, tucked between his hips and the counter.
A small kindness, in the way his coat would block you from view, if someone were to come looking. Keeping the vision of you just for himself.
Heâs biting out a curse as you take him into your mouth. The tight, wet heat as he presses against your tongue, no warning before heâs nudging against your throat.
His own hands scrape against the counter - resisting the urge to buck his hips, not wanting to gag you.
âEasy, now.â Cooper husks, something for both of you.
You hum in response - knees spreading wider. A slow bob of your head as you lick against the underside of his cock.
Eyes lifting until theyâre on his. Wide and wanting as your head tips - drawing back to show how he rests against your tongue, glossy with spit.
Thereâs a deep throb in his core. A rattling groan as you leave him completely, your fist wrapping around his cock. Steady in the way your jerk him from base to tip, as your tongue dips down to trace against his sack.
âFuck.â Itâs bitten out, âGotta make you jealous more often, sweetheart.â
You hum at the way he sees you so clearly. A soft suck against drawn-tight skin, before your head is turning - teeth sinking into the flesh at his hipbone.
He grunts, as his fingers jerk - clamping down against your shirt. Biting into your skin as you suck on ruined skin, the redden shade of his skin blooming darker.
Bucking into the pump of your fist, as his little wastelander marks him up. Marking a hickey along the curve of the stomach, then the meat of his thigh.
He relishes the sting. Letting you explore, as long as you keep touching him. The pleasure-pain blending into bliss as you stroke him.
Thereâs a tightening deep in his core, a tremor to his thighs. You go easily when he thumbs at your jaw - a soft whine buzzing in you throat that he can feel all the way down his shaft, when your lips close around him.
It has his cock jerking against his tongue.
You didnât have memories of dirty films, the lewd magazines from before. Not knowing what it means to exaggerate pleasure for his benefit.
The need etched across your face is real - a hand dropping to nudge against your core. Heâll make up for this later, when the house is bathed in darkness. Spread you out across that dining room table he spotted, tasting what he did to you. Make you come on his cock, driving his point home.
Leaving you sticky and clenching around nothing for now. Always eager to make you learn a lesson.
âYou're takinâ me so fuckinâ well.â He growls, and you shiver with the praise, âSo good for me, arenât you?â
You hum around him, your answer in the bob of your head. The sound of your fist and mouth is lewd, slick and loud. His own grunts and panting breath layering in, as everything winds tight.
Unable to help the buck of his hips, now. How expertly you work him, with none of that slow exploration when youâre alone.
Eyes focused on his face, watching what you do it him. Looking for the way his head tips back, the part of his lips.
Heâs close. Can feel the way everything tightens up, that mounting pressure in his belly.
âFuck, honey.â Cooper lets the name slip free, ââBout to fuckinâ come. You gonna be a good girl and swallow?â
You moan again, as you work him. Letting his hands guide you to the pace he needs. Lips glossy with spit, all but drooling as he uses you.
His breath coming short and harsh, until his teeth click sharply together. A rough groan before heâs bucking into your mouth, spilling against your tongue.
Your fist works him through it. A hand cupping his sack, gently squeezing as he throbs. Those eyes fixed greedily on his, soaking in every expression that flickers across his face.
Always good for him, and you both know it.
âShow me,â He husks, and you do - a ragged gasp as you pull of him, lips parting. The hinge of your jaw opening to show the way his come pools against the dip of your tongue.
âFuckinâ christ,â Itâs enough to have him ready to go again, if he could. âGo on, then. Swallow for me. Show me youâre mine.â
Thereâs the gulp as you swallow. Eyes blown wide with need as he hauls you to your feet. Your hand still drifting back to tuck around him - putting him back together, as your head tips towards his.
âYours.â You breathe - the words hoarse as they slide from your used throat, just as you close the gap between you.
Another kiss. Softer now, though just as possessive. He can taste himself on your tongue. Always liked the way the two of you meld together.
Like itâs meant to be.
And maybe, he thinks -
Maybe a little part of him is yours, too.
ahh thank you for reading! I always love a little cooper pov, it's such a fave to write!

Russo: derby, concussion, care
Derby Day (Alessia Russo x Reader)
[WOSO Masterlist]
âBut itâs the North London Derby!â
Alessia huffs and sinks lower on the couch.
âA little blood never hurt anybody.â
Beth doesnât make eye contact.
âYou donât get it. Youâre not a footballer.â
Leah opens her mouth but quickly shuts it when she sees the look on your face.
The three of them are in various shapes, one with an egg on her forehead, another with two icepacks strapped to both ribs, the last with a makeshift ankle brace constructed out of the finest frozen peas from your freezer.
âHonestly, if someone came in here right now theyâd think I abused you all!â
Alessia turns her pleading eyes towards Viv but gets no help from the Dutch woman. âShe did warn you guys.â
Youâre pacing back and forth in front of the three of them. Youâve all been in this position since Viv tried to drop Alessia off at home nearly an hour ago. You took one look at the broken carpool and all but ordered the four gunners into your house.
A last minute work mishap made you miss out on the derby day, but that didnât stop you from dropping Alessia off at the Emirates before the game. Beth and Leah met the two of you with grins, all but waving off your words of caution before sweeping your girlfriend away.
âI highly recall telling you to take care of yourself, Alessia, did I not? And what was it that you said back to me?â
Your girlfriend mumbles sweet nothings into her sweatshirt, nearly disappearing into the massive thing. Youâre sure if she had it her way sheâd melt right into the couch.
âLouder! I canât hear you.â
Your attentionâs quickly taken away when you hear Leahâs not-so discrete snickering. She pales when she makes eye contact.Â
âUnless the next words out of your mouth is apologizing for not keeping my girlfriend safe like you promised, you shut that mouth, Leah Cathrine.â
Beth snorts before realizing her mistake.Â
Your nose flares angrily. âAnd what do you have to say for yourself? Getting sent off for something as stupid as blocking the keeperâs kick? Honestly, Viv must have the patience of a saint, putting up with you.â
The brunetteâs sitting on the other side of the room, watching everything with thinly concealed amusement. A small tweak had her watching the game from the stands. Of course thereâs nothing more fun that playing in a North London Derby, but with the high fouls and flying boots that unfolded at the stadium today, Viv would be lying if she said she wasnât glad to be a spectator. Especially if being sidelined saved her a lecture from you.
Thereâs another hot reprimand on the tip of your tongue when you feel a gentle tug on your sleeve.
âBabe?â
Alessiaâs got the widest eyes, frown set upon her lips as she tries to appeal to your soft side. Youâre still mad, but you try to lower your temper at the clear discomfort written across her face.
âMy head really hurts. Can I go to bed?â
When Alessia got hurt it took everything in your power not to drive straight to the stadium. Viv had texted you a quick update when Alessia was being checked out, reassuring you that it looked worse than it actually was.
You couldnât stop yourself from replaying the video over and over, heart breaking every time you watched her head bounce off the ground. But you chose to believe your friend, waiting with nerves while you awaited your girlfriendâs return.
Though all that worry flew right out the door when you caught sight of the other two injured girls.Â
âWell I think thatâs our cue!â Beth takes her chance to leap forward, hands pulling at her vice captain to follow her. âGoodnight, Russo, Mrs. Russo--âÂ
Beth chokes on her words when you grab ahold of her collar, stopping her before she can take another step towards the door.
âNow where do the two of you think youâre going?â
The two blondes exchange nervous looks.Â
Leah clears her throat. âHome?â
She swallows hard at the hollow laugh you let out.
âNice try. Captain Nothingâs-Wrong and her sidekick,â you ignore the dirty look Beth gives you at her assignment, âcongratulations, thanks to your clear inability to follow the simplest of instructions, the two of you have won yourselves the Alessia Russo night watch shift.â
And with that, you take a seat next to Viv, turning on the TV to something random while you ignore the three cries of protest.

Papa?
From the âTiny Dancerâ series
Summary: when looking for your mama you find her cuddling with Steve. Natasha has to face the new challenge of telling you the truth about the new love in her life
Word Count: 1.7k
Parings: (Kid!Reader x Mom!Natasha) (Romanogers) (Kid!Reader x Steve)
ââââ
âMama?â You called out into the hallway and your feet padded along the floor âmommy?â You called again. As soon as auntie Kate went to use the bathroom you took the opportunity to search for your mama. You missed Natasha so much, although she had only been gone for a few hours. You knew she was still in the tower, Kate said she was busy working. âMommy where are you?â You said as you pushed open her office door, the empty chair causing you to frown. You hobbled down the stairs to the gym, somewhere that you were not supposed to go without supervision. Maybe Natasha was training.
âLittle spider?â Clint said when he heard you shuffling across the floor âwhat are you doing down hereâ he said as he came to kneel in front of you âI canât find mommyâ you frowned âdo you know where she is?â You asked âis she not in her office kiddo?â Your uncle said as he pulled you to sit on your knee âno, I looked thereâ you drew your gaze away from Clintâs gaze âIâm sorry for coming to the gym by myself, I just wanna find mamaâ you sighed as you wiped your nose. Clint pulled out the handkerchief he kept special for you âitâs alright y/nâ he said as he gently wiped your stuffy nose âdo you want me to help you find mom?â You nodded âyes pleaseâ
You searched the kitchen, the living area, your bedroom, mommyâs bedroom and even auntie Yelenaâs room but you couldnât find Natasha anywhere. Meanwhile on the towers rooftop gardens, Clint was talking a panicked Kate down from her rambling âI thought she might have gotten up here and I was so scared!â She spat out âitâs alright, sheâs down in her bedroomâ Clint said âsheâs waiting for me thereâ he guided Kate back down into the tower to your bedroom. âY/n oh my goodness!â Your aunt said as she rushed into your bedroom âdonât you ever do that again you scared meâ you dropped your gaze, thinking you were in trouble âIâm sorry auntie Katieâ you mumbled âitâs ok y/n, youâre not in trouble you just gotta let someone know where you areâ the two of you hugged it out and continued your search for Natasha along with Clint.
âUncle Tony hasnât seen her either, Iâve asked everyone!â You loudly sighed, throwing your arms into the air. âAre you sure you asked everyone angel?â Kate said as you came to settle on her lap, you racked your brain for a few moments thinking so hard you felt like your eyes would pop out. Suddenly it hit you âUncle Steve!â You abruptly said âI didnât ask uncle Stevie! Come one!â You jumped down onto the carpet and pulled Kate to her feet, knocking into Clint when rushing out of the room. âWoah! Where are you two going in such a hurry?â He asked âI gotta ask uncle Steve if heâs seen mama!â You called back, still pulling Kate along the corridor. Only did you let go of her hand when you reached Steveâs bedroom âUncle Steve!â You called as you opened his door with no invitation âhave you seenâŚâ you stopped in your tracks when you finally found your lost love âmama?â
âHey sweetheartâ Natasha said as she sat up abruptly rubbing her tired eyes âare you okay?â She asked âwhy are you sleeping with uncle Steve?â You innocently asked, missing the way Clint chuckled at your choice of words (they werenât exactly too far from the truth) The assassin shot daggers at Clint before turning her focus back to you âI was just having a nap darlingâ she said. Your inner widow sass started to come through as you stood with a large pour and tightly crossed arms âIâm not silly mama!â You said âwhat do you mean sweet pea?â Asked Steve âyou were holding mama how uncle Clint holds auntie Laura! Have you been kissing my mommy?â You demanded. Clint and Kate took the opportunity to sneak away from the situation before you exploded into emotions ây/n baby calm downâ Natasha said as she stood up from the bed âno!â You yelled âyouâre my mommy! Youâre only allowed to cuddle with me!â You said through angry tears ây/n donât be rude sweetheart, mommyâs allowed to spend time with her friends too isnât she?â Natasha asked as she came down to your level âUncle Steve isnât your friend! Heâs your boyfriend! Youâve been spending time with him instead of me!â You said through choked sobs âbaby girl mamaâs allowed to spend time with other people just like you do, you gotta share remember y/nâ you were still young and still learning so much, but sharing your mommy was defiantly not something you were happy about âbut youâre my mama!â You cried and hurried from the room, leaving a stunned Steve and devastated Natasha, she didnât want you to find out like this.
âMommy doesnât love me anymore uncle Clint!â You cried into the agents shoulder âoh y/n thatâs not true!â He said âyour mom loves you more than anything, and I think she loves Steve too but in a different wayâ Clint explained âwha-what do you mean?â You sniffled âwell, you see your mommy loves you the way I love your cousins, us moms and dads have special hearts made just for you!â Your sobs started to subside as the new conversation caught your attention âthey do?â You asked âthey do! When you were born your mom got a brand new heart just for you so that she can give you all the love in the worldâ Clint continued âso you see now she has two hearts, one especially made for you and one to love anotherâ you wiped your red eyes and shifted on Clintâs lap âI think that your mommy uses her second heart to love Steve the way I love your aunty Laura. So you see y/n your moms love for you hasnât got smaller, sheâs always going to love you no matter who else is in her lifeâ Clint concluded his little speech with his signature smile and was rather pleased to see that you were no longer crying. âSo mommy still loves me?â You asked your uncle âand she loves Steve too?â Clint nodded âI love mommy and Steve tooâ you said âyou see, even your tiny little heart can fit so much love inside it! I think you should go find your mom and let her know that you love herâ Clint suggested and you were off his lap and out the door before he could stop you.
You sprinted down the corridor, heading back to Steveâs bedroom. You turned a corner and crashed straight into a pair of legs, the force knocking you to the floor. âY/n!â Natasha cried âIâm sorry baby I didnât see you, are you okay?â Your moms fear only increased when you jumped up and threw your arms around her âoh Iâm sorry baby, shh, itâs okayâ she cooed for a moment before realising that there were no sniffles in the air ây/n?â Nat said as she pulled back from the hug. âI love you mommy!â You smiled brightly at her âI love you too babyâ Natasha said, a little confused. âIâm sorry for being rude mama, I didnât mean tooâ you pleaded âI just want you to still love me even if you love Steve tooâ you said as you pulled on your moms sweatshirt âoh y/nâ Nat sighed âof course Iâm still going to love you, I will always love you tiny dancer, youâre my world and no one else comes before youâ your mama said as she gently kissed your forehead. âYouâre mommyâs best friend and you always will beâ she finished. âI know mama, uncle Clint told me about your two hearts and how one of them is just for me!â You exclaimed brightly. âWell uncle Clint is right you knowâ Natasha said as she lent down to touch your nose with hers. The widow was constantly impressed with Clintâs smart ways of calming you down. âIs Stevie still in his room?â You asked your mom.
Natasha led you back into Steveâs room, hand in hand. The solider sat up immediately at your presence. âHi Stevieâ you shyly said âhey y/nâ Steve replied. You waddled over to his bed and climbed up to sit next to him while Natasha stood by the doorframe. âIâm sorry for being mean unc- Steveâ you mumbled âthatâs okay y/nâ the avenger said. âI was just scared that mommy wouldnât love me anymore, but now I know that she will because she has two hearts, one for me and one for youâ you said, kicking your legs slightly. âUm- yes well thatâs right you knowâ Steve muddled through his sentence. âDo you love my mama?â You asked âI do, very much y/nâ Steve said âand youâll always be nice to herâ you said with your biggest puppy eyes âI promise I willâ Steve smiled. âAnd youâll share her with me?â You said âalwaysâ Steve said. You thought for a moment and glanced at your mom then back at Steve. âWill you be my papa then?â You quietly asked. Natasha felt her heart swell with love, she had never expected you to welcome Steve so easily. âIs that what youâd like?â The solider asked âyes pleaseâ you mumbled behind your sleeve âthen of course Iâll be your papaâ Steve smiled. You immediately climbed up and wrapped your arms around his shoulders, and shortly, Natasha came to join you both.
You always thought it would just be you and your mommy, and at first you were scared that Steve was going to take her away. Now however, you were excited to spend more time with Steve (he was secretly one of your favourite people in the avengers.) Over the next few days you did everything together and you got to see just how happy your mom was with your new papa. Natasha still had all the love in the world saved up for you, and she made sure to continue to shower you in it. You were sad when Steve had to leave for a 2 day mission and you missed him more than you thought possible. It was safe to say that you liked this new expansion of your little family, and you couldnât wait for all the fun you were going to have together.

Number 15 for Alucard, it'd be so cute!
A/N: I don't think this is the fluff you were expecting LOL I promise it's a happy ending but the angst took over. In case you (or anyone else) was wondering the song is Cherry Wine by Hozier (i'm in my feels right now about this man I'm sorry) Anyways I hope you like it mwuaaah
"Sing to me again" x Alucard
Fight.
Attack.
Defend.
Alucard couldnât think of anything except you and the baby while he was on the front line. The village had been so peaceful, for long he nearly forgot there were still monsters crawling around in the world. The stragglers that had grown stronger, the ones who persevered throughout the days, weeks, months. The stragglers that had already killed some of the makeshift infantrymen, the ones who have had nothing but time on their hands and are so hungry they see red. The stragglers that had Alucard running out to defend the village while you stay hidden away deep in the castle, barricaded and locked behind the safety of your shared home. They were evolved, instantly locking onto the dhampir who was the strongest amongst the men, bloodied grins widening: teeth sharp as blades that could tear through muscle and sinew with ease. Alucard steadied himself, gripping a little tighter onto his shield and sword, kissing its hilt and imagining your sweet face, the sweet face of his newborn daughter, and lunged.
-
You were frantic, trying so hard to stay calm if only for your energy not to be poured into the babe huffing and crying in your arms. Youâd been trying to put her to bed, but how could she? How could she sleep when she felt your panic, your anxiety pulsing into the very air she breathed in? How could she sleep when your soothing rocking was more jarring than anything, your voice shaky as you shushed her? How could you ever expect her to calm her sorrows when, if you tried hard enough, you heard the incessant howls and screeches from the deadly monsters outside castle walls. You prayed, you prayed to all the deities and gods that could ever possibly exist to bring your Adrian back home. Youâd never worry like this, heâs so strong, fending off the monsters with ease. But youâd never seen him so nervous like this either: having the heavy knocks of men on the castle doors begging for saving. The sheer strength of the creatures overwhelming them.Â
What felt like days passed, it could have been a few minutes, it could have been a few hours. Youâre not sure, you and your daughter going in and out of sleep, waking at every creak and bang that was heard. You shushed and cooed, steadying yourself the best you could to maybe sing a lullaby to your darling girl. âShh, shh, I know sweet pea--I miss him too. But heâll be safe, heâll come back..â You whispered, kissing her forehead as a tiny hand balled into a fist rubbed at scrunched up eyes.Â
Her eyes and words are so icy oh, but she burns like rum on the fire. Hot and fast and angry as she can be, I walk my days on a wire.Â
It looks ugly, but itâs clean, oh momma donât fuss over me.
Way she tells me Iâm hers, and sheâs mine. Open hand or closed fist, would be fine. The blood is rare and sweet as cherry wine.
The cries lulled to a few whines and whimpers, holding her to your chest as you continued your hushed tones.
Calls of guilty thrown at me, all while she stains the sheets of some other. Thrown at me so powerfully just like, she throws the arm of her brother.
But I want it, itâs a crime, that sheâs not around most of the time.
Way she tells me Iâm hers, and sheâs mine. Open hand or closed fist, would be fine. The blood is rare and sweet as cherry wine.
Singing has calmed you enough to keep a gentle bounce, baby slowly falling asleep in your arms. You internally sighed, thankful that at least the immediate worry of your child has been quelled.Â
Now all you can do is wait for your beloved.
-
Alucard ended the life of the final monster, hearing the victorious cries and hollers of the villagemen around him. He was grateful the battle had ended, retreating quickly to your shared home, finally able to hold you in his arms. Slowly, he opened the doors, knowing any sudden movements could stir his (hopefully) sleeping baby girl. He didnât want to increase your stress, already guilty that he had to leave you in disarray. He made his way to the room heâd left you in, sure youâd still be in there: the nursery. The very nursery that you two built with your own hands, right next to his old bedroom.
Just like Vlad and Lisa.
As Alucard got closer, he heard small hiccups and babbles from his daughter, along with the soft singing coming from you. He recognized the song, a song youâd often sing to yourself when you thought he wasnât listening. The same song youâd sing into his hair when he was half asleep. He pressed the door open, his heart stopping at the very sight of you whispering the song into your daughterâs fluffy mess of a head, eyes closed. You hadnât noticed him, and he was grateful. He wanted to just take in the moment, all panic and anxiety of constantly thinking that something might have happened, that something might have gotten through the castle, all quelled the moment he saw you both.Â
He let you finish, giving you a moment before softly knocking on the door, your eyes darting to him immediately, tears forming in the corners of your eyes. âAdrian..â You whispered, voice heavy. He crossed the threshold, kneeling at your feet and holding you both without disturbing the sweet babe. âOh thank god youâre safe.â You did your best not to cry, you really did, not realizing just how scared you were for his safety. But he was alive and well and back in your arms. âIâm here now, love, Iâll keep you both safe always.â He whispered into your hair, looking down at his baby with adoration.Â
âI heard you singing, love.â You hummed, calm enough now to put your girl down in her crib. The moment you sat back down though, Alucardâs head rested on your lap, hugging at your legs. You pet his hair, combing your fingers through the blond tresses. You hummed the melody of the song to him as his eyes fluttered close, breathing even. By the end youâd thought heâd already falling asleep, instead he spoke a whisper: âMy darling, will you sing to me again?â Your heart clenched, and with a smile you responded:
âAs long as you keep coming home to us, Iâll sing to you every day.â

Hi there! May I request Cassidy with an s/o who can easily fluster him? Thank you in advance if you do this!
âYou love it.â
Cassidy x Reader
W/C: 850+
A/N: YESS, I love Cassidy requests, sadly this is the last one I have (feel free to send more đ) Iâve been obsessed with Overwatch recently especially Cassidy and Hanzo. One last funny little thing that I wanna share. So basically the way I write his accent is a just quietly talk to myself while Iâm writing because I have a southern accent myself. Just thought it was a lil funny thing to share.
Also this isnât proof read AT ALL. I wrote this in a couple periods of school.
Cole loves complimenting and flirting with you as often as he gets the chance to.
But as soon as you throw a compliment back at him he is a flustered mess.
Typically he's just fine taking a compliment from someone like another agent in Overwatch but when it's from you?
God help him.
Whenever heâs flustered heâll pull his hat from his head to cover his face and take a moment to collect himself before even thinking about replying to you
Itâs literally adorable.
Claims to hate it
He loves it.
Heâll glance over them and claim that your words donât affect him
They most definitely do.
It was around midnight and Cassidy still hadnât managed to find his way into bed. He had returned from a mission earlier and had meant to go home hours ago to change, shower, or even just to see you. God, he always missed you. Instead, he sat on a part of the counter in the base's kitchen, lights out, eating some cookies that Brigitte had made for all of Overwatch to enjoy and enjoy he did.
They were amazing, perfectly cooked but still a nice chewable, gooey texture to them with the perfect amount of chocolate chips and hit the spot at this time of night. If he was being completely honest though, he hadnât realised how late it was getting to be. If he had he wouldâve scurried his way home by now.
Though, the silence in the Overwatch kitchen at night was a weirdly comforting thing. The curtains were open just enough to bring in the perfect amount of moonlight to illuminate everything so that you werenât tripping over stuff in the dark.
After a couple more cookies Cole had finally decided to pull out his phone and check the time which had read to be almost 1:00 AM. Determining that it was already far too late for him to be awake he decided on one last cookie before he would finally make his way to your shared bed for the night.
He pulled his last cookie out of the jar before taking a bite out of it as he realised your figure stood in the doorway, âHey sweet pea, whatâre you doinâ up at this hour?â
You left the doorway making your way closer to Cole. He noted that you were in pyjamas meaning that you had already been in bed as your voice came out in a groggy tone, âSomeone had mentioned that you were back from your mission earlier today, I hadnât seen you so I came looking for you. Missed your handsome face.â
He internally thanked that he had left the lights off when he came in here earlier, had he not the only thing to hide how embarrassingly red his face was currently wouldâve been his hat. The hat which he wasnât wearing currently.
There was an outline of a smile that came across your face, you werenât able to fully see his reaction but you knew the effect that your words had on him. He was always the one who flirted with other people, never the other way around so when you threw his words right back at him the reaction was nothing but the best. He took a second to gather himself before he even thought about replying to you.
âSorry, I hadnât been lookinâ at the time. I meant to come nâ see you earlier. I kinda got caught up with Brigitteâs cookies, these things are amazing,â He praised the cookies while taking a bite out of the one he had grabbed before he noticed you were in the room.
You shook your head in agreement, hopping up on the counter next to him, laying your head onto his shoulder, âYou thinking about heading to bed anytime soon?â
âJust âbout to after I finished this last cookie,â you let out a small hum of acknowledgement to his words looking up at his face, âSomethinâ on your pretty little mind sugar?â
You shook your head, âNothing just you, all the time.â
All he could do was sigh with a smile on his face, the blush of his face much more visible with the closeness of the two of you, âCanât be just sayinâ stuff that.â
âYes I can, and you love it.â
As always if you enjoyed my masterlist is here

NRC'S PAINT CHIP PROJECT! â sweet pea
"the flower of the same name symbolizes friendship, gratitude, a heartfelt goodbyes."
Thereâs a soft knock on Ramshackleâs front door in the early hours of the morning that has you throwing yourself out of bed and racing down the rickety old stairs. The smile on your face is stubborn, and no matter how many times you try to pull down your cheeks it doesnât work. Youâll look like a fool in front of him, but you suppose he wonât care. If anything, itâll make him happier.
You fling open the door with gusto, the blanket wrapped around your body fluttering in the chilly breeze. Jack jumps at your enthusiasm, eyes wide as he hides his hands behind his back.
âHi.â you whisper, beaming.
âHey.â he looks away, coughing awkwardly into his fist, âUh, I heard aboutâŚtodayâs Spirit WeekâŚuh, showing your gratitudeâŚyou know?â
You almost roll your eyes at the mention of Crowleyâs âNRC Spirit Week, an opportunity for the student body to grow closer together! Oh, how gracious and kind I am for coming up with such an idea!â Somehow you refrain from doing so.
âYes I diiid.â you tease, leaning towards him, âDidja get me something?â
âYes, actually.â his ears twitch but his expression doesnât change (heâs still as stoic as ever), âIâŚhope itâs not disappointing.â
Jack removes his other hand from behind his back and presents you with a delicate bouquet of sweet peas. You gasp in surprise and then laugh at the slightly crushed stemsâhe must have done that by accident when you threw the door open.
âDonât laugh.â he mumbles, âIâŚgrew these myself. I wanted to give you something to show how glad I am that youâre around.â
âJackâŚâ you accept the flowers, cradling them like theyâre the most precious thing in the world, âThank you.â
He shuffles his feet and looks away, and you barely hold back a giggle at just how small he looks right now. Youâve never really seen him embarrassed like this before, but itâs a welcome change.
A very welcome change.
âWould you like to have breakfast with us?â you say, not willing to let him go back to his dorm just yet, âI promise Iâll make enough to feed you. Grim eats a truckload of food every morning, itâd be a shame if you missed it.â
âActually, I think I would want to miss Grim.â Jack grumbles, and your heart plummets for a moment before he meets your gaze, âBut..I wouldnât want to miss you.â

holds out cup a little crumb of dmc boys x reader with add/adhd please? maybe with some angst sprinkled in? i don't mean to be greedy, i am just a small simp đ
GN!Reader Angst/Comfort Think I made myself tear up a little with these haha enjoy!
Dante
When you find something you love, you can talk about it for hours
Lucky for you, Dante loves hearing about your hypertfixations
He finds it wonderful to see you excited about something and wants to know everything you can about it
One day while talking to Dante, you notice him seemingly not paying as much attention as he usually does
He'd been writing in a notebook the entire you'd been talking
You instantly begin to think you might be annoying him or boring him and slowly stop talking
When you do, he looks up at you worried
"What's wrong sweet pea? Why did you stop talking?"
"Do I... Do I annoy you?"
He's quite shocked
You could never annoy him!
"Never! I love when you tell me all about the things you are interested in!"
"You've been looking at that notebook this entire time though"
Dante softly smiles before flipping the notebook so you see it
On the page is a list of everything you've ever told Dante about, new and old
"I've been keeping a list of the things you like. I was adding this to it"
Dante pulls you in, kissing all over your face until you start laughing
He will reassure you anytime you need it and sometimes even when you don't expect it
He loves listening to you ramble on and on and he won't ever let you think otherwise
Vergil
Vergil is a man with his own problems and one of those is perfection
Growing up, Vergil worked hard to earn his father's approval and maintain it
Getting ready for a mission one day, Vergil notices lots of things are missing or out of place
"Sweetheart, where is everything? I need to get going soon"
"Oh! It's, um..."
"Sweetheart, please"
"I remember! I promise! It's- It's..."
"Y/N! Why can't you just remember these things?!"
Vergil instantly regretted yelling at you
He knew you were trying your hardest
He couldn't get his apology in, however, as you ran off and he had to get to this mission at this point
You spent the rest of the day with Nero, the kid making threats to his father and reassuring you
When Vergil came home, he was greeted by an angry Nero
"You better fix this"
Nero lets his father in, taking him to you instantly
You're curled up on the couch, a look of fear when you see Vergil walk in
It breaks Vergil to see you scared of him, its the one thing he didn't want to do
"I'm sorry, love"
He has a few gifts for you; your comfort food, a soft sweater in Vergil's signature royal blue and a matching blanket
Without warning, you pull Vergil into a hug, ignoring the gifts
He holds you tightly, as close as he can get you to him
Vergil works on forgetting about perfection because really, nothing will ever be perfect
As long as he has you though, it's near damn perfect
V
He lost you
Again
"Angel! Come back! Where are you?!"
He told you to stay right next to him while he talked to this guy to get info
Now, he turns and finds you've run off
Again
"Angel!!"
It wasn't safe for you out here
Who knows what demon or monster of a human would find you
V knows you can hold your own but that doesn't stop him from worrying about you when you venture off like this
As V rounds a corner, he sees you battling it out with a demon
A demon that just pierced your leg
"YOU INSISTENT FOOL, LET GO OF THEM"
The demon flings you in a different direction before growling at the poet
V takes down the demon before rushing over to you
You were laying on the asphalt, the pincer of the demon still stuck in your leg
V doesn't say anything to you, just helps you up and gets you back to home base as quickly as possible
Vergil patches you up and makes sure you don't try running after your boyfriend back onto the battlefield
Later when V and Dante come back, Vergil leads Dante out of the room so you and V could talk
"I'm sorry for running off again"
"Oh angel"
V pulls you into a hug, trying not to hurt your leg
"Not out of sight anymore, please"
The two of you work on it over the next few weeks leading up to your next mission together
V's gentle with you as well, softly reminding you when you need it until it becomes second nature
And if you have to get out of his sight for something, you tell him before running off. A lot of the time he follows
V also reminds you he loves you more than anything
He doesn't want you getting hurt again
He has trust in you though
While you can't help it every time, he trusts that you'll come back in one piece
His little wanderer
Nero
You weren't listening again
Your attention was somewhere else and Nero could tell
He was trying to brief you on a mission but you weren't taking in anything he was saying
"Baby, you getting any of this?"
Focusing on Nero, you stiffen and your face becomes pale
You realize you've been daydreaming the entire time and the look on Nero's face tells you everything
He's disappointed
Blotches of color return to your face as hot tears slowly roll down your cheeks
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
Nero watched as you bow your head, holding your wrist out, the sight making his heart ache
He knew the orphanage people were terrible to you for being a little different than everyone else but the stance you held was so defenseless, it was like you were expecting someone to hit you
He slowly walks over, taking your hand in his
He sits down next to you on the couch, slowly putting your arm down
You look up at him, the scared confused expression stained with tears making Nero tear up himself
"I'm not upset, baby"
You begin to cry again, this time pulling Nero into a hug
He holds on to you, slowly rubbing your back and whispered soothing reassurance into your ear
"You're safe now. I won't hurt you like they did"
"I'm sorry"
Nero quietly shushes you, telling you it's ok
Once you'd calmed down and Nero checked in with you to make sure you were ok, he slowly went back over the mission
He checked in with you to make sure you understood and rewarded you with kisses when you were able to repeat back to him
If you couldn't, that was ok. Nero simply went back over whatever part he was on
He was forced to watch back then when you two were kids, getting punished for being different. Sometimes taking extra beatings for trying to save or defend you
He wasn't going to let that continue now
You may be different, but that wasn't going to stop him from loving you anyways
He reassures you and rewards you for any and everything
You may be different but that's exactly what Nero loved about you

Apt Apology
Part of The Master's Maniacal Misadventures series. AO3 link.
Cape Canaveral. Florida, November 1967. What you asked for, the Master delivered.
You still eyed him with suspicion as he joined you in the doorway of his TARDIS.
âThere you go then. Your pea shooter launches in an hour.â
âPea shooter?â You said, a frustrating fondness seeping into your tone. With a sharp reminder, you remembered your vow that this was a one-time trip. A trial run he had called it, but it wouldnât last long. A few hours at most and youâd be able to let O go once and for all. It would be easy â heâd never existed to begin with.
âA launched Saturn V rocket is the loudest sound humans have ever produced.â
âHave ever produced so far.â The Master corrected. âYouâve never heard 10 billion of you screaming in harmony.â
Resolve hardened, you replied acerbically, âYes. I remember how much you like to torment my species.â
Itâs why you were here. His plan to kill humanity thwarted only by the Doctor. A plan sheâd unwittingly pulled you into, though you suppose you were always in it. You just didnât know you were a pawn at the time.
With a small sigh, you looked back at the scene before you. It really was 1967. You were going to watch the first launch of the Saturn V rocket that was sitting across the bay. Hear that almighty boom with your own ears and shield your eyes from the dangerously bright flair on its five F-1 rocket engines igniting.
You started to step out of the TARDIS, drawn by the sight, when a hand stopped you.
âAlready losing points in the intelligence column.â The Master snarked. âForgetting something?â
Glancing down like you would suddenly be missing trousers, you accidentally stumbled across his point. Rather than giving him the satisfaction, however, you used an excuse. âDid you see me pack a change of clothes? In fact,â turning to face him fully, you crossed your arms, âI remember you specifically telling me not to pack.â
âCast your mind back with greater care, human.â He retorted, careful to say the name of your species with extra derision. âI told you not to pack as the TARDIS has a full wardrobe.â
Letting your lip curl back a fraction, you eyed him slowly before saying, âNo offence. But I donât think dressing as a colourblind geriatric on day leave from the care home is going to help me blend in.â
You didnât know whether heâd scowl or smile and waiting to see gave you an odd thrill. You didnât enjoy this. There was nothing of Oâs sweetness here, nothing of his kindness, his charity, his passion for the greater good. But when the Master grinned you still saw him, even if his teeth looked a little sharper.
âYou know you love it really.â He said, turning sharply so his coat tails would billow.
âSuch a drama queen.â You muttered.
âWhat was that?â He asked, glancing over his shoulder.
âLead the way.â You said theatrically, emphasising each word with care. âI donât suppose this wardrobe of yours has a hearing aid to complete your look?â
With a shove, you went into the TARDIS ahead of him.
Both looking appropriate for the decade, you stepped back out into the sunshine.
Really, you wouldâve been happy living in that wardrobe but you werenât passing on the chance to get your own back. After spending eighty years trapped on Earth, this location was just as good as any to give the Master a little retribution for all the suffering heâd caused you. Heâd be miserable here, you were sure of it. Watching subpar technology in the most insufferable place humanity had to offer â Florida. The humidity had already ruined his coiffure within seconds; that would drive him to new levels of madness in no time.
Clapping your hands together, you looked around gleefully as he locked up.
âWhere shall we start? Should we get a spot now or is there time to visit those stalls over though. Oh, that one has ice cream. Have you got any money?â
âDoes it look like Iâve got a wallet on me?â
You definitely werenât going to be tricked into scanning his trousers for a bulge, but you did shoot him an irritated look.
âAgain, you told me I didnât need to bring anything.â
âI can get us money, human. But you wonât like how I do it.â
With a sigh, you figured that was true enough. âFine, letâs find a good spot. I want the best view.â
âGo back into the TARDIS then. Iâll pilot us to ride alongside the thing.â
Instead you marched forward, toward the crowd of people already gathered on the shoreline. Like you they all had sunglasses on, the Master the only one ridiculous enough to go without. Apparently his superior alien eyes didnât need them. That or he couldnât find a pair large enough to fit his head.
You were able to find your own little spot further along the island that sat across from the cape. Unsurprisingly, for the time period, there was no crowd control to push you back.
Unlike the other spectators, you had the foreknowledge to take some ear plugs. Luckily the Masterâs TARDIS had some in the wardrobe. His precious alien ears would probably be fine, but youâd like to live to hear another day.
Before you could sit on the grass, the Master put his hand out to stop you again.
âWhat now?â You said, rolling your eyes.
Reaching into his jacket pocket, he somehow produced a fully sized picket blanket.
Staring at him blankly, it took a minute to form words. âHow did you fit that in there?â
âThe pockets are bigger on the inside.â He answered. âObviously.â
Laying it out, he gestured for you to sit first then followed you down to the ground. Carefully spreading your skirt over your legs, you glanced at him a few times. You had plenty of questions. How was something bigger on the inside? How did he travel through time? If he was an alien, why didnât he have spookily long fingers and big eyes? You didnât ask any of those.
âYou said you were planning on coming back. To see me. Once youâd finished your plan.â You started, keeping your eyes on the horizon. Little figures flocked around the rocket, like ants on a leaf from such a distance.
âThatâs what I said.â He agreed, unbuttoning his jacket so he could lean back on his forearms.
âBut what was the plan, exactly? You were going to turn up on my doorstep, me the only human left in existence, reeling from everyone Iâve ever known dying and⌠were you going to be O?â
The Master sighed. Maybe he didnât want to talk about his recent failure, but you still couldnât wrap your head around his return. You could be mourning O; the Master a distant nightmare. Instead he was back and, despite what he said in your kitchen, you still didnât know why.
âYou might have been more amenable if I was O.â He said eventually, once he sensed you wouldnât let the conversation go. âSo, yes. For a time, I would have continued the ruse.â
âAnd then, at some point, you would have revealed that youâre a time travelling alien? With a spaceship.â
âI always planned to tell you who I really am.â The Master answered carefully. It was a complicated plan and in a way the actual turn of events had made things easier. Even if it meant conceding to the Doctor yet again. Of course, he couldâve taken you but that wouldnât be interesting. This, this was interesting. You had every reason to turn from him, but you were here. That was interesting, which made you interesting.
âYou said. Thatâs why you gave me those files about the Doctor.â
âPrecisely.â
âAnd you thought thatâd work?â You said incredulously, turning to face him. âThat Iâd be totally fine with everything and weâd â what? Travel together.â
âActually I thought weâd leave Earth immediately. You knew enough to be exposed to alien technology and there wasnât much point staying in a wasteland. I mean,â he turned to look around him, âlook at this place.â
The sun shone bright overhead, the brilliantly blue sky was lightly dusted with the faintest of clouds, and there was an excited hum in the air as humanity waited for history to unfold before their eyes. You thought it was beautiful. Was he missing something, or were other worlds truly more lovely than your home?
Shaking your head, unable to believe your planet was anything like a wasteland, you asked, âDo you really hate Earth? Or do you just hate anything and anyone that isnât you? Do you want the universe to yourself?â
His eyes flashed and with a moment of clarity you realised that the thing he hated above everything was himself. And the Doctor, you amended. But there was self-loathing that you could only believe he had let you see. He was too good an actor. Or was this an act for your sympathy? He could be playing you again.
âDid you come here for the history or the bang?â The Master asked, leaning toward you as a darkness fell over his face. âBetter yet. Did you come here because you wanted to or because you wanted to punish me?â
It was his turn to see something in your eyes and with a smile he knew. âWeâre more alike than you realise. Different enough to make things interesting. Maybe weâll learn to love it. Maybe weâll grow to hate it.â
âNot knowing.â You said slowly, realising why he wanted you here.
âEven as O you saw me better than most. And the people who do see already hate me.â He sat back, resting on his arms again. âThis is different. Live long enough, different becomes interesting.â
âWhy, how old are you?â
âThat, human, is a very rude question. According to your culture anyway.â He deflected.
You couldnât help but laugh. âSo you hate Earth, hate humans, but you want to follow the standards of polite society?â
He shot you a dirty look that had you laughing even harder.
âI get it, I get it. You only like rules when they work for you. Thatâs right.â You grinned. âAnd if I ever try to hide between the same rule, youâll ignore it. Like a hypocrite.â
âDonât try and guess the future, love. This will only end faster.â
You felt the joy drain from your eyes but it quickly recovered when you heard a murmur pass through the crowd.
âItâs time.â The Master said ominously. âWake me up when youâre ready to go.â
He started to lay back but you thwacked his knee with your hand. âYouâre not sleeping through this. Itâs the loudest noise.â
âSays the woman whoâs never heard it.â
Shushing him, you were still pleased when you felt him sit up and rearrange himself to rest beside you on the rug with thinly veiled impatience.
âFine. Just you wait. Once youâve seen the stars, youâll realise how dullâŚâ
Whatever he was saying, not that youâd been paying attention, was drowned out by the most deafening roar youâd ever heard. And that was with your ear drums safely protected. Smoke billowed out, stretching to the banks opposite your side of the river and flames shot out from beneath the rocket. Inexplicably, this giant vehicle was propelled up, the force of the explosion outweighing its vast size. Eyes wide, you followed every second. You knew what was going to happen, but feeling the blast ripple through your bones was entirely different. You were really here.
The Master watched the side of your face, not in the slightest interested in primitive Earth technology. The delight in your eyes, that was interesting. Very interesting, he mused to himself.
When the rocket passed out of sight and the crowd finished clapping, when your heartrate steadied and your hands stopped shaking, the Master ushered you off the blanket.
âRight. Off we go. Time to go see some real planets.â
He left the blanket on the ground and you started to protest.
âYou canât just leave it here, itâs littering.â
âOh come on.â He said, snatching your arm to drag you along. âThe TARDIS has everything we need.â
Well, in that case, you guessed someone else would find use for it. Dropping your arm, the Master walked without a backward glance to unlock the door. He left it wide open â infuriatingly confident, you could tell, that youâd follow him. And, as you stalked after him, you found that your irritation was nearly nothing next to your excitement.
The trail run might last longer than one trip after all.

post-season 3
Terri will freely admit that she wasnât overly enthusiastic about her daughter suddenly deciding (with less than a monthâs notice) to spend two weeks of summer at a camp run by her boyfriend and otherwise minimal adult supervision. Yes, a lot of it was because she (selfishly) wanted her daughter to spend that time with her after not being together for half a year, but she was also concerned on a more general level: across the country with no cell phones? The summer before her junior year? Terri would much rather she stay home, focus on SAT prep if anything, and prepare for her futureânot go to some theatre workshop where sheâs unlikely to learn anything of value.Â
It did help to find out that Gina has been cast as the lead in the first-ever stage production of a wildly popular Disney movie and will also be starring in the associated documentary. This is a novel experience, can go on her college apps and rĂŠsumĂŠ, and really, who is she to judge when all expenses are paid in exchange for signing a few release forms?Â
Still, she misses the days she could hear about each rehearsal straight from the source instead of random teasers dropped on the Disney+ twitter account, and she especially hates that she has to work and miss Ginaâs big debut. By the time intermission is called on the livestream, Terri (ever-so-grateful for the weekend off) is already en-route to California.Â
Terri pulls into the Shallow Lake parking lot and spots Gina immediately among the throng of campers checking out and saying their goodbyes. Sheâs grown at least an inch, Terri realizes with a jolt. Gina is nearly seventeen now, on the brink of adulthood, and the way sheâs carrying herself now demonstrates a demeanor entirely different from the teenager sheâd dropped off at MSY just a few months ago. Why does time always move so fast with these kids?Â
Gina whips around as soon as Terri slams the car door shut, as if she was able to hear it from all the way across the yard, letting out a loud squeal of delight that sends Terriâs heart melting before launching herself straight into her motherâs arms. Terri is instantly reminded of a five-year-old Gina doing the exact same thing at kindergarten pickup.
âHey, sweet pea,â she whispers, returning her daughterâs tight hug. Some things never change.Â
âMom? What are you even doing here? I thought you were closing on the house? Oh my god, I had no ideaâ"
âI finished all that yesterday, and since I have a free weekend, I thought we could take a mother-daughter road-trip back home â just like old times.â While their last few moves had been too far apart to drive, she and Gina used to spent nearly every school holiday or long weekend transporting their lives across state lines while eating their fill of fast food and pancakes, touring random obscure roadside attractions, and making some of their fondest memories.Â
Gina beams. âIâd love that,â she says, bouncing on her heels excitedly. âI finished packing, actually, so I just need to take care of one thing real quick and we can head out.â
Then she smiles big and wide again, an expression she saves for truly special occasions (like, apparently, 10 hours with her mother in a car), and quickly kisses Terriâs cheek. âLove you, mommy. Be back in a bit.âÂ
Gina sprints off in the direction of, according to a nearby sign, a âYurt Lockerâ. Strange name, Terri thinks. She doesnât have a chance muse on it (or what the hell it even means) further, though, because someone bellows GENEVIEVE MARIE! so loudly that both Gina and Terri, now at least 20 feet apart, jump at the sound.Â
The source of the voice appears a second laterâor at least Terri assumes thatâs who the curly-haired boy with a shit-eating grin on his face now standing in front of Gina is, given her daughterâs currently crossed arms, flushed cheeks, and, surprisingly, equally playful smile. Terri eyes the boy curiously. Gina doesnât give out her full name to just anyone and rarely allows anyone to use it (Terri canât remember the last time she herself even said the word Genevieve, let alone added her middle name to the mix). But Gina seems entirely unfazed now, as if having this boy yell it for all to hear is a regular occurrence. Who is he?
Then she notices the acoustic guitar heâs clutching, and it hits her. Kristoff: Ricky Bowen.
It had been a while since Gina had mentioned Ricky in their weekly FaceTimes. His name had only ever come up in relation to Ashlenâs role of Belle in the spring musical, and even then, it was mostly to complain about his two left feet. If it werenât for a panicked text conversation on Valentineâs Day (Ginaâs teddy bear got lost in transit, long story), Terri would have entirely forgotten about him.
Clearly, not only has his dancing greatly improved this summer (if yesterday was any evidence), but so has his friendship with her daughter. Â
Ricky pulls out a set of keys and gestures to the parking lot, fanning his face with his free hand, and thatâs when Terri realizes heâs wearingâŚa pink-and-blue snowsuit. Gina laughs and rolls her eyes at him, clearly teasing him about his ridiculous attire for an LA summer, but when he says something else, Gina suddenly shakes her head, pointing straight at Terri.Â
Terri gives a small wave to the kids, and Ricky immediately waves back excitedly. Okay, then.Â
Turning back to Gina, Ricky says something else and Gina smiles shyly and nods. Terri watches as the pair hugs goodbye, a motion that is simultaneously so natural neither think twice about itâfalling into a tight embrace that nearly lifts Gina off the groundâbut so awkward when they separate that Terri can feel the tension from all the way over here. Okay, then, indeed.Â
Ricky meanders toward the bright orange bug almost double-parked in the last slot of the lot. Terri recognizes the car from her driveway last fall â but also remembers Gina mentioning that Ashlenâs boyfriend also drives an orange bug that the three of them and EJ would carpool to school in, leaving Terri to wonder which possibility is weirder: that Ricky and his friend got matching ugly vehicles together, or that Ricky transported his friendâs car across state lines for two weeks and his friend actually agreed to it.Â
There isnât much she knows about Ricky Bowen, actually, except that he has an apparent penchant for nabbing lead roles out from under everyone elseâs noses andâsurprisinglyâactually justifying those casting choices. Ginaâs scene partners are often so dry she has to work double-time to make the chemistry believable. Last night, however, Ricky showed a level of talent that nearly matched her own daughterâs in the way he was able to hold the audience captive even without Gina on stage with him. There was one solo of his in particular that had actually caught Terriâs attention (she had taken the opportunity to answer some emails) when, right at the end, he suddenly directed the final line of the song away from the audience and into the wings: youâre what I know about love, he sang, straight to Ana. Straight to Gina. It was not only a genius move but one she doubted he was directed to doâhe must have come up with it himself.Â
Still, something about him sets Terri on edge. Questionable decisions (seriously, snowsuit?) aside, he has the demeanor of a class clown, someone who stays while itâs fun but bolts when things get hard. It makes Terri uneasy, especially since itâs clear that this is someone Gina cares deeply about.Â
âSorry about that.â Ginaâs back, suitcases in hand, shaking Terri out of her reverie. âI had to tell Ricky I didnât need a ride first.âÂ
âOh, I thought EJ was giving you a ride home,â Terri says, taking one of the suitcases from Gina.Â
A tense silence. âMom, I told you we broke up, remember?âÂ
âI know, sweetheart,â Terri quickly assures her. Gina had called early yesterday morning from Kourtneyâs phone, relating the news with a quick âit was a long time coming, weâre still friends, prom was super fun otherwise, see you soonâ and hanging up before Terri could even get an Iâm sorry out. âI just assumed youâd keep the same arrangement since Ashlen and your other friends are there, too.â She winces. âI see how silly that sounds out loud, though.âÂ
âYeah.â More silence.Â
âDo you want to talk about it?â Terri asks gently.Â
Gina shakes her head no emphatically. âI told you, it wasnât really a surprise. Iâm fine.â
âOkay, okay, got the hint.â Terri laughs, sighing internally with relief when Gina gives her a (albeit watery) smile. She opens the car trunk and shoves the suitcase inside.
âSo, why was Ricky wearing a snowsuit?â Terri asks as they settle in and buckle up, unable to keep the question to herself any longer.Â
âOh, he wasnât supposed to be at camp at all, and showed up without a ton of clothes, so he mostly borrowed from others I think, and got pizza all over his laundry yesterday, too.â she giggles slightly, then continues, âplus the guys dumped ice water on themselves last night and he put is wet towel on top of his open suitcase, like an idiot.â She says all this with the nonchalance of someone explaining 1+1=2, notâŚwhatever she just said about sudden enrollment, pizza, and ice water.Â
âThat doesnât explain the snowsuit,â Terri says, now even more confused.Â
âRumor has it he was supposed to go skiing with his ex? he didnât say, though." Gina shrugs.Â
âthat girl Jamieâs working with?âÂ
âNo.â Gina doesnât elaborate.Â
âWell, regardless, heâs very talented,â Terri supplies. âI did enjoy that one ballad of his yesterday, the one with the guitar and lights.âÂ
âOh.â Gina smiles softly, almost to herself. âI liked that one too.âÂ
Terriâs stomach twists, like theyâre about to go barreling off a cliff they canât see and canât stop.Â
âIs he doing the fall musical as well?â
âI dunno. Probably. Itâs his senior year, he wonât have many more chances.âÂ
âI didnât realize heâs a year ahead of you,â Terri says, surprised. âHow are his college apps coming along?â
âMom,â Gina groans. âItâs literally summer vacation, and believe it or not, I didnât ask. He probably hasnât even started thinking about them yet.âÂ
âFair,â Terri says, although, internally, she disagrees. if Ricky were truly serious about his future, he would have had his summer plans set in place long ago, and a solid school list by now.Â
I can tell you like him, Gigi, she thinks. And then, suddenly, I wish you didnât.Â
Itâs a strange thought, and a foreign oneâGina has yet to make a friend that Terri straight-up disapproves of. What Ricky does with his life is really none of her business, and Ginaâs a smart girlâshe wonât go rushing into poor decisions even if her friends are walking bundles of chaos. Plus, from the little sheâs seen, itâs clear he cares about Gina, too. Maybe as much as she does him.Â
But Gina in a relationship isâŚdifferent. Gina in a relationship was more carefree, a little less focused. She begged to go to prom despite having an exam the next Monday, she shifted her summer plans around for a camp she showed no interest in before, and she prioritized FaceTimes and texting every night over reading or sleeping. there were no lasting negative repercussions for any of this, but if there was ever a time for Gina to conserve her extra energy for something worthwhile, itâs now.Â
Ricky a good friend, Terri decides. As friends, he keeps her groundedâbut anything more than that? Sheâs just not sure.Â

Luxe (Genderfluid Concubus) x Anonymous Reader (Sfw) Part III
Part I ⥠Part II
(Hewwo! It has been a while since I have updated Luxe's story! And I have... poked and prodded and rewrote this section quite a bit! There is. . . a lot here in this part âĄâĄâĄ I hope you guys enjoy it! You also get to meet the Lord of the castle, Luxe's boss ehehehe, who was honestly supposed to be the other love interest in this story! So if folks are interested in that addition to this story ahh let me know! <3 )
With how lost you had been in your thoughts, the travel through the forest roads felt like a blink. Hours melding into dreamy minutes, while your feet moved towards town. Your mind's lens remained frozen, reliving the time in Luxe's bedroom. The echoes of the past making blood pump loudly in your ears. The cobbled path beneath your feet overlain with the grainy image of your hands pressed against the door to the bathroom. The stillness in that room amplified every breath, every sigh. A relief bloomed in your chest as the first signs of the town peeked through the woods, the emerging of large stone walls that surrounded the village. You pick up your pace, eager for a distraction, pushing down the memories as far as you could manage. They sit at the back of mind, gnawing at your subconscious.
The town had a set of large iron gates that were drawn open to accept merchants and travelers during the day. You slow and eventually pause at the threshold between the little town and the deemed threatening outside world. Your hand reaches out, fingertips passing over the bushy peonyâs, long stalky daisyâs, sprigs of lavender and abundance of other flowers that someone had planted there. It made the entrance of the walled village look more inviting to those who traveled the roads. Yet the walls were there wherever you looked. Looming down with its promise to keep out what lurked outside of its embrace.
When you previously lived here, this little garden was your favorite spot to venture to. It symbolized the very cusp of the outside world, as far as you dared travel into the great unknown. That is, until you had gotten a little older, and had begun to stray into the woods, foraging for edible plants and berries to sell for an extra profit.
And now, you lived within the sinister forest itself, completely on the other side of the story. No longer some sleepy forest villager who lived and breathed the tales of adventure at the only cozy inn in town. Folk surrounding the crackling fire, hats pulled low, trading forbidden secrets. You walked and spoke with legends of your own, albeit none of the tales you could spin, were anything like the ones you used to hear. However, you did now recieved the same looks any newcomer may get. The glances of admiration, fear, and something else were given both furtive and openly as you passed market stalls. How funny humans were, when you stood on the other side of the narrative. It made you wonder how much of those old tales were true, and how much was procured from flights of fancy and fear.
âHello Ma,â you paused, casting a glance behind you as you settled in front of the stall of baked goods and treats. Ma was a portly lady with a round face, who was as close to the mother of the town as one could be. She fed the strays of everything, cats, dogs, and kids. She also had a habit of adopting said strays, and had taught many a child the love and versatility of bread.
You tensed as she pinched your cheek, âYou look thin sweet pea, have a scone.â It made you laugh and feel like a small child again.
âI have been working very hard!â You proclaimed, as she shoved a tray under your nose.
âEat.â She said in an admonished tone. âHard work deserves good food.â
You put down a couple of coins on the counter, and reverently took a scone. Closing your eyes and chewing slowly to savor the warm bakery treat.
âI miss your foragables,â Ma lamented, âYou will have to tell me where you found the little blueberries, not a day goes by without someone pining for them.â
You thumbed crumbs away from the corner of your mouth, lips pulling into a smile.
âThose were very good,â You agreed. Thinking back to warm buzzing summer days in the forest shade, shoving pockets full of tiny berries and eating handfuls more.
âIf I find the patch again, I will pick all that I can for you.â She beams as you fish a list of supplies from your pocket.
âYou have grown up to be so kind, always a kind soul, mind you. But my, I am ever so proud seeing you leave the nest to do good in the world.â
Your smile fades a little, as something bitter replaces the sweet taste on your tongue.
âThank you,â You say earnestly, though you wonder, would you think so highly of me if you knew the likes of whom I consorted with?
You left with a few more uneasy thoughts on your shoulders, and a satchel filled with the few supplies the castle occupants couldnât seem to receive without these trips to town. With it being months since you had even set forth in your old home, you also had bought a small box of pastries as well. Because bringing treats home felt like it was a necessity. You had bought baked goods when you had first arrived at the castle as well. An attempt to start off your new job right and raise a hand of friendship to the castle staff. Yet, you winced at the memory, as that hadnât gone as you planned. It had gone so awry in fact, that you had accidentally smashed a baked good into the face of the head butler. That certainly wasnât a good look for a newcomer, even if it was an accident. Luxe had blinked, their expression painted in utter bewilderment before seeming to laugh it off. That day, moments before you assaulted them with pastry, you could have sworn that they had been going to kiss you. You scratched your head, feeling your pulse jitter. You had a lot of thoughts about them. . . in general. Times where you wondered if they were only teasing you because it made you fluster. Yet also, the times where they had been kind and honest.
Now.
Now you werenât sure what to think. They never did tell you why they were determined to woo you. They had given you the opportunity to find out, with a strange little deal that they offered to you, a mischievous glint in their eyes. A kiss for a secret split. The ease in which they tugged your heart strings into a befuddled mess. . . You pressed the tied bundle of baked goods to your chest. With your gaze focused on the ground you hear the sound of hooves slowly coming closer. You glance up and begin to move to the side of the road as a horse drawn coach trundles along the main street.
You are surprised as the coach comes to a halt before you, and the door is flung open with a bang. Inside is a well dressed man, who eyes you with a glare."
"You."
You turn your head looking at the others, as the folks on the street do the same. Confusion scrawled across their visages, one of us was in some kind of trouble, and it made the citizens on the street nervous.
The man crooks his finger towards you impatiently.
"Me, sir?"
"Yes, for heaven's sake, hurry up! I need a word with you."
There were many things you could have said in response to this rude man. A quick witted Luxe would have batted away this comment with an haughty flick of a wrist and a remark with their own sharp wit. You wished more than anything you had that ability right now. Your legs felt like lead, frozen to the spot as your voice died in your throat, mind churning like molasses. You couldn't think of what to say, and more than ever you felt eyes, so many eyes, looking you up and down as you stood rooted to the spot. You knew this man by reputation mostly, one of the smaller Duke's that flaunted the streets at their leisure. You weren't a part of this town anymore, and this beast of a man shouldn't be able to scare you, you didn't have to listen to a word he said.
He doesn't own you. An angry voice whispered in your mind. Don't listen. Go the other way.
And yet, and yet, and yet. That wasn't what you did. You glanced around, nervously looking at the bystanders who watched on with blank faces. No one was going to step in and help you, you hated the way you walked towards that coach. Hesitant and meek, as if you were compelled.
"Yes, sir?"
It happened too fast, a hand shooting out to grab your wrist once you had gotten too close. Like a snare that snapped shut, you were dragged unceremoniously inside and the door slammed behind you.
Your eyes had gone wide breathing in shallow gasps as you looked around, suddenly there was nowhere to go, and the crack of a whip outside had the coach jerking forward.
You rise onto your hands and knees, glaring at the man who was sneering down at you. You took in his cold eyes, the way his forehead puckered and the way his face was flushed in rage.
"There was no need for- '' You started before he cut you off and you purse your lips tightly together.
"I do what I please. I owe this village. You best remember that."
You seethed inside your head, taking a deep steadying breath. Picking up your spilled parcel and giving yourself extra time to force your mind to work again. You sit back on your knees, feeling the wheels of the coach sending vibrations up through the floorboards.
"What. . . do you want."
You spoke slowly, anger and anxiety making your hands shake.
There is a thud that slightly rocks the coach, and the man's face turns even redder.
âWhere are you hiding them?â
âHiding. . . what?â
âThose beasts!â He hisses, losing patience altogether, grabbing your shirt collar and pulling you close. âI know you come from that wretched castle! Where. Is. It?!â You turn your head as spit hits your cheek. Then, there is a thud, the wild eyed man jolts, his eyes darting from your face to look around.
The coach stopped and the air was still.
"Driver!" He bellows, "I didn't say you could stop!"
In response, a sharp crunching sound comes from above. A sharp heeled boot piercing through the top of the coach and splinters of wood fall down, you duck your head to brace for the falling splinters. Holding your bought supplies to your chest.
âItâs rather rude,â A voice chimed up from above, âTo take a person without their willing consent.â Luxeâs face leers in as the boot retracts back. âAre you alright darling?â
âLuxe!â You squeak, âFoul demon!â Shrieks the man, his gaze fully on Luxe. You grab the mans wrist and twist. Making him shout with pain and reflexively pull away, you take this moment to scramble to the other side of the coach.
âIsnât that a pity," Luxe responds lazily, twirling a piece of her hair between her fingers, "That a so-called infernal creature has more tact than you? If I were you, I would be ashamed."
âFilthy creature,â He sneers, he reaches towards you, yet he pales as the top of the coach is peeled back like an onion.
âDonât you dare, lay a hand on them.â Luxe voice drops to a silky deadliness you have never heard come from their lips. âOr I will be happy to gut you here, and now.â They wrap a crystalline whip around their hands. It glints in the sunshine from above, winking with a cruel promise. Each chink in the frame has little barbed flourishes that run the length of the whip. Like thorns on a deadly rose.
âDarling, the door if you please.â Luxe tilts their head towards the coach door, as their gaze stays locked with the man. You fumble with the lock, and slide from the coach. Luxe jumping down easily briskly interlocking their arm with yours.
You see the man, no longer fearing for his mortal life, spitting mad more than ever, screaming from the doorway.
âDonât listen.â Luxe murmurs, pulling you closer so that the two of you walk leaned into one another. âAre you hurt?â
âNo,â You whisper quietly,
"Thank the stars. I was afraid I arrived too late.â her jaw worked, unspoken fears had you holding onto them a little tighter.
Luxe kept her head swiveling left and right, a constant surveillance until she was sure that there wasnât anyone following. âHold on,â She whispered, raising a finger, she cut a line down in the air, and a strange window with an ornate frame materialized in thin air. âEasy,â Luxe murmured gently as your body jerked, âWeâre going to step through it, and get to the castle faster this way. Itâs a little shocking to look at, but this way you wonât have to walk all the way back. The demon gently urges you through the archway. Before stepping through themself.
It was like stepping through a doorway. The threshold of one room, into another. Taking a tentative step you now stood in a room you have never seen before. It made you feel small with things that looked oddly too large. A chair that towered above you.
âI am sorry, my Lord. Forgive our passage through your room.â You turn your head looking towards Luxe and your eyes slowly raise up, up, up.
Whatever you had expected Luxe's lord to look like. . . the being that was lounging upon their throne looked nothing like it.
âDarling, this is Iridyne, the lord of this castle.â
Iridyne was a giant figure, but not abysal black or red like hellfire. Iridyne was pallid, with a softness like freshly fallen snow. When they shifted in their seat, a very faint prismatic rainbow would move upon their skin. Multiple bright blue eyes peered intently down at you. With great horns that had the appearance of being wrought from diamonds haloing their head.
"Our human," Their voice sang like a chorus, three voices intermingled and harmonized with one another, causing your skin to prickle at the strange echo.
"Yes," Luxe replied, showing no sign of being inflicted by the strange hum of voices. "They had been attacked on their way to market, I would like to arrange someone to accompany them next time. I fear it may no longer be safe for them to travel alone."
Iridyne blinks and hums, three distinct voices flowing from them, each talking evenly, and layered one on top of the other. You tried to twist your mind around the layering of words and separate each sentence from one another.
"Who would you recommend?"
"Does the human want someone specific?"
"Are they alright? They look shaken."
Luxe glances at you, before raising a gentle hand, "One thought at a time my Lord, I don't believe they can understand you so quickly."
Iridyne settles back into their seat, eyes blinking slowly, first the two, then the third that was positioned like a diamond on their forehead. They begin again, at a much slower and deliberate pace.
"Squishy human, do you require rest? Are you injured?"
Your eyes raise, your eyes meeting theirs for a fraction of a second before looking away. You shake your head.
Iridyne swivels their great head back towards Luxe again, speaking again in three voices, all humming with different words and rythmn. You chose not to fight the current, to attempt to untangle the flow of words, but let the voices wash over you like waves in the ocean.
"Thank you, my lord." You heard Luxe's own silken voice smooth through the hum. You felt a hand on your shoulder, giving it a tender squeeze. "You are most kind, yes, I will look after them, they will be able to rest soon."
You were gently led out, feeling your mind twinkle with a starlit dizziness as your thoughts shuffled about to clear your head. Focusing Luxe's concerned features.
"Are you alright?"
You nod, giving a weak laugh, "I think a spot of tea will do wonders for me."
Luxe's eyebrows creep up, a tense smile twitching upon their lips as worry lines creased their forehead. "I shall make you some darling."
You sat at the kitchen table as Luxe cooked, their gloves laying on the table at their side. Sleeves rolled up to their elbows as she tended to a sizzling pan chopping vegetables. It was strange seeing them dress down. A part of your mind had been sure they could have done anything and still kept those white gloves spotless.
Food dished onto a plate and settled down in front of you, a heaping of pan fried potatoes, with chicken and broccolie covered in a glaze.
"A simple meal," Luxe tutted, setting down a cup of tea, before pulling up a seat for herself. "But you should try to get a little something in your stomach."
You nod, and bow your head, "Thank you. . . I really appreciate it. . . everything I mean. For coming to find me and for the meal."
"Of course dear, I know I haven't exactly been gentile about the way I have displayed my affection for you. . . but please believe me when I say that I wish to be someone that you can trust."
Your fingers curl slightly, before your hand slowly reaches across the table, fingers closing around their hand. You feel a brief return of pressure, as a comfortable silence settles over the two of you. You ate quietly, hand closed around theirs until the plate was empty.
â
The next day you took lunch outside. Sitting on a wide spread blanket. With sweet lemon tea cakes and cucumber sandwiches that burst with the flavor of cream cheese and dill. Chores had been minimal today, while the head butler had tittered over you and your well being. You hadn't decided what to do about the subject of needing some kind of escort the next time you would leave for the village. Yet you hadn't been rushed into making any decisions and you were glad for the quiet day, despite feeling guilty for relaxing.
You began packing up the dirty plates, setting them neatly into the basket to carry them back to the castle. A small furry creature bounces toward you through the grass, a laundry basket balanced on the top of itâs head.
âWould you mind taking these inside?â The small fluffy creature asked, many large eyes blinking up at you. âI have a lot more work to do down here, I would really appreciate itâ
You take the woven basket with a smile. âOf course, whose clothes are these?â
âThe head butler!â The little being fluffs as a purr makes itâs small body quiver with delight. âThank you!â
You watching the being bounce back towards the clothes line, where there were set of wooden stairs and more of the small beings hanging clothes to flap into the wind. âOh. . .â Youâre heart sinks a little, looking at this new basket that you have in your possession. You leave the grassy sunshine and enter the quiet house, your steps feeling too loud as you made your way across polished floors. The last time you were in their bedroom. . . you felt your stomach drop and squeezed your eyes shut. Once again the echoes of your accidental snooping bubbled up into your forethoughts, it felt both shame worthy and something else. Something that made your knees press tighter together.
You knocked on the door of their bedroom, waiting a few heart beats before shuffling inside, once you were sure that Luxe wasnât there.
As you put the laundry down on the bed, you cast your eyes quickly away from the sheets, and the ghostly image that was burned there. The splayed legs, with a soft hand creeping downwards towards the navel. The sounds the glimpse of what you had seen, was quick to resurface and a lump formed in your throat.
You chose to look at anything but the bed, so your eyes darted nervously around the room. You turned on your heels and your gaze fell upon a strange mirror. It was elegant and very tall, resting against the opposite wall. Roughly the size and shape of a door. Yet where normally the mirrors in the castle shone bright and glossy in their swirling wood frames, this mirror's reflection was not just dulled, but black, a black that let in no light.
You tilted your head, trying to see any light, even the smallest of glance reflecting in the frame. But no, it was as matte as could be. You took a tentative step closer, without thinking you traced a finger against the sooty appearance. As if it were merely paint and scratching a soft nail against it could reveal the vibrant echo of the room.
"Hello?" The soft upward lilt of the voice startles you, and you turn to see Luxe hanging in the doorway. You did a quick survey of their appearance. Not looking inherently feminine today, nor masculine, something in between the two.
"Hello," You mutter shyly, standing still and casting your eyes downward. Edging away from the door meant edging nearer to the bed. It was hard not to feel guilty, especially in this room. Did you look guilty?
Luxe voice comes considerably closer, polished shoes appearing in the rim of your focus.
"How are you doing?" Their voice turns soft, consolable, and it makes your heart squeeze uncomfortably. There was no hedging around the thoughts now. Knowing you had done them a misdeed when their time alone was so precious, and then they had helped you in a moment of trouble. It made your mind sink inches deeper into the mire of bad thoughts.
"I," A breath of air, a thought, an apology on the tip of your tongue before you flapped your arm weakly. "I brought your clothes. I didn't mean to intrude." You glanced a peek up at them, but they were studying the mirror, a pensive finger drawn to pursed lips.
As your eyes lingered they turned to look at you, a funny expression on their face. "Would you like to hear a story about mirrors?" A smile quirked their lips, as you stared on taken aback.
"I. . . I wouldn't mind." You answered finally.
Luxe looks back at the mirror putting a palm to it, and you watch with wonder as the black fades away leaving your reflections in its wake. "Humans have lore about covering mirrors when their loved ones die, you have heard that, yes?"
"Because the spirit is said to get trapped there, yes."
Luxe smiles evenly, "Something like that. It started with an oral tradition that was passed down from a true story about the yearning of the heart."
You watched their face, focusing on their eyes, how intently they studied their reflection.
"So someone. . . saw their loved one in a mirror?"
"Possibly," Luxe replied, "No one is sure who the entity was, whether the mourner conjured the spirit of their loved one, or their sadness called to something else in disguise. Needless to say, whoever it was spirited them away. So enraptured by the appearance of someone they had believe to have lost, took their
hand, and stepped through the mirror."
A chill wriggled it way down your core. "That's. . . terrifying."
"Is it?" Luxe pulls their eyes away to smile at you. "I think it speaks about the strength of desire. One can want so deeply that it can affect the world around them, and mirrors are quintessentially, vessels that reflect. So they are one of the easiest objects that can reflect desire.
"Isn't that. . . how magic works?" You murmured skeptically.
"Indeed it is." They raise an amused eyebrow. "And you think humans cannot do magic?"
They scoff at the look you give them, before holding out their hand. "Would you like a demonstration? This mirror is used to seeing and reflecting upon desire."
You feel your nerves bunch, "I don't thinkâŚ"
Luxe tuts lightly as your hand slides into theirs. "Think of a place."
You frown, "A place. . .?"
"Somewhere that makes you happy," The urge affably, "Be it a garden, or forest, or even perhaps a bakery. I know you enjoy those."
Your palm presses against the cool glass, as a place drops into your mind. A garden, but not a big garden exactly, the little colorful area of flowers and plants that grow outside the gates of the town. You feel your palm begin to sink into the glass and you give a yelp, snaking your hand away to stare dumbfounded at the mirror. The reflection in the room had fade away, and what stood in it's place was a perfect portrait of the garden outside the gate into the village. Your mouth only gaped as the portrait moved, flowers fluttering in the breeze. The mirror had not become a painting, but a window.
You briefly see Luxe reach towards through the glossy sheen, before the gloved hand disappears into the dappled sunlight. The mirror's surface rippled as if a stone was thrown into a pond. When Luxe's gloved hand pulls back, a one of the hardy daisyâs is grasped in their fingers. Your heart beats a thunderous roaring in your ears as they softly tuck the flower behind your ear.
"It's very simple." Luxe says, eyes bright and shimmering. "And now you know how I get around so quickly within the castle." They chuckle, averting their eyes as their fingers slip past the shell of your ear. The touch makes you shudder.
"I. . . I see." You look back to the window. The sunshine and the bright flowers. The floor of the bedroom became the floor of the dusty path with only the frame of the mirror sat between them. The cheerful picturesque spot was only a step away, was that why many of the mirrors were of the castle sat upon the floor?
You lick your lips nervously, wanting to know more but unsure what to ask.
"Mirrors can show and do a great many things," Luxe continues, "They can show you loved ones, and goodness are very useful in transportation, though many of them usually need a sister mirror to shine before they can become a doorway. This one is one I have had for a long time, and has been used enough that it can travel to places that do not have a link." Luxe's eyes have a twinkle of mischief, "There are not many of these kinds around. Due to the trouble people have gotten into with them. Stealing mostly. The desire to get into treasuries was too much for some folk."
"There's a mirror like that. . . with Lord Iridyne too?"
Luxe smiles and nods "There are two in the castle, though our Lord usually just likes to watch the world go by within the glass."
"You said. . . they function based on desire? What do you usually see?" The expression of Luxe's face makes you backtrack. "That is I mean, where do you like to go? If. . . If it works like a door."
Luxe's expression turn thoughtful. "I typically use mirrors for travel within the castle my dear." Your face falls and they smile sweetly. "Not very extravagant, I know. A portal at your doorstep, one that can take you wherever your heart desires and it is used for butling. It is very practical, and I would be more than happy to teach you how to go about using them." They peered at you and the smile turned into a grin. "Would you. . . enjoy that?"
It was hard to keep the enthusiasm from making your body spring with joy. Learning magic, the ability in which one hop, skip or jump could take you into any room you may need? Could there be any other answer? "Yes! I would adore that!"
"Perfect. Then we shall start on that tomorrow then. I am sure there are other tasks you must do today, ah yes, and thank you for fetching my laundry darling."
You beam and nod, walking out with the demon feeling very pleased with the promise of learning a new skill. Luxe closing the door behind the both of you.
There was a newfound spring in your step, looking forward to learning.
As the door closes, Luxe glances at the mirror. The picture shifts and coalses to a new image.
You are in the depths of the ornate frame walking down the hall and heading down the hall, expression cheery but looking tired.
Luxe's face twists into anger and snaps a finger at the frame.
"Cast out this image. Now."
The image cracks, a long dark chink running up the sides before the break widens, the smooth glass has dulled back to it's matte black and the darkness overtakes the picture. Luxe unceremoniously falls back onto the bed, hands laced over their stomach as they let out a tight breath.
"What do you usually see?" An eager expression with curious eyes that made their heart shudder. They groan, placing their hands over their eyes as their spaded tail slaps against the bed with agitation.

Likes, comments, and reblogs are SUPER appreciated! â¤ď¸
You kept the notes squirreled away in a small box in the back of your sock drawer. Steve always left one, using whatever scrap of paper was nearby. After the first few notes youâd taken to keeping post-its and a pen on your nightstand, which he used from then on to leave you his sweet farewells.Â
The first few notes were stiff, formal, things like âThank you for a lovely time, Sincerely Yours, Steveâ or âI truly appreciate you, Best, Steveâ like he was thanking you for picking up his dry cleaning rather than letting him fuck you into next week.Â
At the beginning of your relationship, heâd only come by your safe house after dark and would leave almost right after you passed out. The more times he visited, the more comfortable he got and the longer he would linger. Sometimes youâd wake up in the wee hours with him spooning you, snoring adorably, but heâd always be gone by morning, a note left for you stuck to your coffee maker, a full pot already made.Â
He was sweet like that.Â
âThanks for last night. Youâre incredible. <3 Steveâ
âIâll miss you, but I wonât be gone long. <3 Steveâ
âSee you soon, beautiful. <3 SteveâÂ
The little doodled heart next to his name made your heart stutter.Â
His visits became more frequent, from once every few months to once a month to every other week or so. More often than not, you woke up next to him. The first time that happened youâd shaken him awake, afraid he was late to something or needed to go. Heâd smiled his classically handsome smile and simply folded you back into his arms.Â
âGo back to sleep, sweetheart,â he said, voice still thick with sleep. âI donât have to be anywhere for a while yet.âÂ
A while yet turned out to be two full days with Steve. At first, you werenât sure about his presence in your house, thinking heâd be bored out of his mind, but he found some home projects youâd been neglecting and did as much as he could in the time he had. The domesticity of it all was a new kind of intimacy that neither of you were familiar with, so there were some awkward moments trying to figure out each other's routines and particularities. But once that initial adjustment period was over, everything feltâŚnatural.
You feared this would be the end of his sweet little notes, but instead of the end the notes started popping up everywhere. Sometimes it was a flirtatious note, sometimes a quick drawing of something silly or pornographic or a reference to something he now understood thanks to your pop culture tutelage.Â
âI love your tits in that top ;)â
âMeet me upstairs when youâre done in the gardenâ
âI definitely didn't use the last of the milk, it was a ghost. Who ya gonna call?âÂ
The drawing he did of you pegging a suspiciously Steve-shaped Deadpool was probably your favorite. That one got taped to the fridge.Â
While he was on the run, you were more than happy to provide him a safe place. His touchstone when he needed a reminder that he was still a human being. A place where he could fully shed the fugitive mantle and act like a normal person.Â
He gets the call from Nat while heâs rehanging drywall in your upstairs bathroom. They needed him to get to Edinburgh, some weird readings were coming through whatever scanners she had. You were at the grocery store, so he grabbed the post-its from his side of the bed and wrote a note.Â
âGot a call from Nat, gotta go save the world again <3 Love you, Steveâ
He stuck it where heâd be sure youâd find it, on the fridge, next to the naughty drawing that you loved, and made sure to lock the door when he left.Â
A few days later, the truck heâd commandeered screeched to a halt in your driveway. His heart pounded in his chest as he thudded up the porch steps and threw his shoulder into your front door, busting it open â heâd fix it later, he had to know.Â
He called your name and ran from room to room, searching for you desperately. Half the world was gone, and he couldnât waste another second without knowing if you were one of them.Â
Heâd already lost Bucky. He couldnât lose you too.Â
Up in your bedroom he found his answer. On the bed, spread all over his side of it, were all the notes heâd written you. On your side, nothing but a hint of dust. His legs went numb, but they managed to bring him to the end of the bed before he collapsed, gripping the duvet and some of his wayward notes.Â
Steve couldnât hold back anymore, so he let the tears fall pitifully â first Bucky, then Wanda, Sam, TâChalla, so, so many others. And now, you were gone too. The one person who could have possibly helped him hold together what was left, had already done that once before after his schism with Stark. Heâd come to you shattered and slowly, carefully, youâd glued him back together.Â
âSteve?â your quiet voice asked. At first, he didnât move, convinced he was hearing things until he felt your small hand on his shoulder.Â
He turned, your name falling from his lips like a sacred prayer before he wrapped his arms around your waist, burying his wet face in your stomach. More tears fell, but these were from relief.Â
âYouâre alive,â he chanted, voice muffled by your tummy. You shushed him gently, running your fingers through his hair.Â
âIâm here, Steve,â you promised, âIâll always be here.â

Miss California updates for today:
When I was cleaning her enclosure (she kicked litter fucking everywhere in the closet so I had to replace everything, clean the floor, and start over), I just tugged her bed out of the closet into the larger adjoining room.
She basically had stayed still for hours so I figured she'd stay parked. She didn't. She instead ended up under a completely inaccessible end table that is covered by the stuff that was taken out of the closet so that she'd have a space to convalesce. She decided to come out of there and have some dry food, which is good because I had no plan for how to get her out of there.
She pooped today! This is a big deal because she is on opioids, so she's rather backed up, and because in theory a blockage could be really bad cause the bowel routes through the pelvis. So this is an important if rather stinky step.
She is so so sweet it's wild.
She hates her meds, tho, and is getting good at dodging her gabapentin, which I've taken to calling her yo gaba gaba because I am home by myself and maybe cracking up a bit
The smaller, lighter ice pack was better than the frozen peas (thank you @that1girlsierra for the idea!) and she let me do some bicycle movements with her legs
She is just so good.

Kids
(Capri sees how you are with your siblings when she comes to hang out while youâre babysitting making her think about how awesome itâs gonna be when youâre both moms together raising a baby of your own)
Your mom asked you to babysit your two little siblings last minute (baby brother(2) Max and little sister(4) Avery) of course you said yes, it was really hard to say no to your mom. âIâll be back in the morning, I promise Iâll make it up to youâ your mom said as she left, you knew she would not be home in the morning like she said but she most definitely wouldnât make it up to you but itâs ok. Luckily it was Friday afternoon, the school day had already ended Capri was supposed to come over after she finished her- CAPRI IS SUPPOSED TO BE COMING OVER-SHIT you completely forgot. You decide to clean up a little, rushing a little especially since now you had to pick your siblings up from daycare. You decide to text Capri to let her know whatâs going on.
(Y/N): hey Cap um my mom really last minute told me I have to babysit today :(
babyđ: can I still come over? I miss you and I wanna spend time with you
babyđ: plus I bet youâll want some help with the kids
(Y/N): wait you wanna help with the kids?
babyđ: yeah your siblings are literally so adorable your mom has the cutest pics of them on insta
(Y/N): omg I forgot you follow my mom
(Y/N): DO NOT SCROLL PAST 2022
babyđ: too late I already have your very ADORABLE âweird/cringeâ pics
(Y/N): NOOOOO BABE DELETE THOSE đ
babyđ: aww come on you look adorable and I promise theyâre for my eyes only
(Y/N): fine keep them i guess đ
babyđ: aw someoneâs grumpy I guess I wonât come overâŚ
(Y/N): WAIT NOOO PLEASE I MISS YOU âšď¸
babyđ: Iâll be over in an hour ok? Iâm gonna stop by my house and shower really quick
(Y/N): ok I gotta go pick up the kids in half an hour so if Iâm not home just let yourself in
(Y/N): key is under the mat still
babyđ: ok bubs see you soon đ
(Y/N): see you soon đ
You smile and set down your phone. You have to leave in about 15 minutes to make it to the daycare before the rush of parents get there so you decide to fix your hair and change into something a little more comfortable knowing youâll have to chase the little ones around once you get back home. You go with some sweatpants and a t-shirt then throw on a jacket and your shoes and head to your car. The drive was peaceful. You got there a little early and parked in the front, you only had your wait a few minutes before you were allowed to sign them out âSISSYâ your little sister yelled running over to you excitedly âhi sweet pea how was your day?â You say pulling her in for a hug âSUPER COOL we got do paint and we had goldfishâ she said beaming with energy âthatâs so cool, are you ready to go get bug and head home?â You ask grabbing her bag and waving goodbye to the worker âmhm but tan we go get snack fwom da store and den we go home?â she asks âof course we can get snacks, letâs go get Max and then weâll get you all the snacks you wantâ you say holding her hand and heading over to the baby room âoh hey y/n, youâre here to pick up Max right?â Darby asks âum yeah, I didnât know you worked here?â You say a little surprised âoh um yeah itâs my first dayâ Darby says while another worker brings Max over âsissyâ he says reaching for you âhi baby boyâ you say grabbing him and his bag from the worker âbye Darby see you on Mondayâ you say with Max on your hip and holding Averyâs hand. The three of you head to your car, you help Avery in first so sheâs not running around the parking lot, then you put Max in. âOk guys weâre gonna go get snacks then weâre going homeâ you say as you buckle up and start the car âYAY SNACKSâ Avery says bouncing in her seat a little âNACKSâ Max say copying Avery. You put on some Disney music for the kids because you know they like it and then drive over to the store by your house to get snacks. You get to the store and text Capri to see if she wants anything
(Y/N): hey baby Iâm at the store getting the kids some snacks do you want anything?
babyđ: um yeah sure
babyđ: just get me anything
(Y/N): ok babe see you in a little bit
babyđ: I love you honey see you in a few đ
(Y/N): I love you babyđ
âWho dat?â Avery asks âoh itâs Capri, you remember Capri right sweet pea?â You say helping the small girl out of the car âthe girl in da picture on you phone?â She asks a little confused âyes sweet pea the girl in the pictures on my phoneâ you say with a smile âher prettyâ Avery says happily âyou think sheâs pretty?â You ask, she responds with a nod âdo you want to meet her?â âYES PWEASEâ âok letâs get your snacks super fast then go see her, sheâs coming to the houseâ âme houseâ âmhm our house, so we gotta hurryâ
You and the kids get your snacks then head back home surprisingly arriving before Capri. As youâre getting the kids out of the car Capri arrives âhey bubsâ Capri says as her hands wrap around your waist âCapri baby, I love you soo very much but if I donât get this lovely little girl in the house she is going to pee in my carâ you say as you help Avery unbuckle âoh sorry honeyâ Capri say backing away to give you some space âis there anything I can help with?â She asks âum yeah can you get Max out?â You say unlocking the front door and letting Avery run inside. Capri brings Max inside the house plus the bags you left in the car âoh baby you didnât have to do thatâ you say helping her out by grabbing Max and setting him on the couch then helping her take the snacks to the kitchen and you put two frozen pizzas in the oven. Avery runs out of the bathroom excited to meet Capri âSweet pea no running, you know the rulesâ you say in a slightly authoritative tone âsowwyâ Avery says looking at the ground âaw so this is the sweet pea Iâve heard about, whatâs your name?â Capri says squatting down to be eye contact with Avery, Avery immediately runs behind you âsweet pea I thought you wanted to say hi?â You say trying to look at her âI scaredâ she says in a loud whisper âsheâs nice I promiseâ you whisper back, Avery still holding on to you stands by your side and waves at Capri âhi, I Averyâ âhi Avery Iâm Capri, itâs nice to meet youâ Avery goes over and hugs Capri âawwâ Capri says as she hugs Avery âyou my fwiend nowâ Avery says looking Capri in the eyes âabsolutely Iâd love to be your friendâ Capri says as you walk over to the two of them âhey Aves you wanna go get some toys to play with while we watch a movie?â You say as you wrap your arm around Capriâs waist âotay I go but donât eat me snacksâ Avery says going to her room, you pull Capri in for a kiss âI missed youâ you say âI missed you tooâ Capri says âsissyâ Max says yanking at your pants âyes bug?â You say squatting to his level âeat?â He say âoh youâre hungry weâll remember we got some snacks?â âCHEESEâ âyes bug I got you cheese, go get some toys while I set up the movie, ok?â You say as he excitedly goes to his room to get some toys âthey are absolutely adorableâ Capri says âEATâ max says running to the living room with some toys âBUG NO RUNNING IN THE HOUSEâ you yell slightly frustrated âSweet pea, movie timeâ you say down the hallway âMOVIEâ Avery says walking down the hallway with a blanket and some toys plopping down on the cushions you put on the floor for them. Capri takes the pizzas out and helps set up their snack trays âhey babe does Max have a sippy cup or does he use a normal cup?â She asks putting cheese on his tray âhe has a sippy cup, it should be in the fridge next to Averyâs juice boxesâ you say looking through movies with the kiddos and them both shaking their heads no at every movie you show them âare you guys being silly?â You say looking at them ânooooooâ Avery says then giggles, max starts giggling too âok thatâs it you little trickstersâ you say starting to tickle them causing them to giggle more and louder. Capri comes over with both of the snack trays for the little ones âoh whatâs going on in here? You guys look sillyâ Capri says with a laugh, both kids are laying on you and the three of you are giggling âsorry the tickle monster had to get these silly kids under controlâ you say as both kids get off of you to go in their spots for snacks âtank you capiâ Avery says starting to eat her snacks âaw youâre welcomeâ Capri says âhey goofballs should we let Capri pick the movie since sheâs our guest?â You ask them, Max nods with a mouth full of cheese âyeah her pickâ Avery says giving you a thumbs up âalright Capri, what shall it be?â You say handing her the remote âtangled?â She suggests âESSâ Max says putting his hands up âhe wikes dat one a lotâ Avery says with a giggle âthatâs a great choice Capriâ you say from the kitchen while she starts the movie. You make a snack tray for you and Capri to share grabbing drinks for the both of you.
The kids sit quietly eating their snacks and watching the movie. You sit next to Capri wrapping an arm around her and passing her drink âthank you babeâ she says giving to a quick peck on the lips. The kids finish their snacks and play for a little but about 3/4ths of the way into the movie they both start to doze off âaw theyâre so sleepyâ Capri whispered âIâm gonna take Max first, Iâll be back for Avesâ you whisper kissing Capriâs forehead, you gently pick up Max, he shifts a little wrapping his little arms around you then you take him to his room tucking him into bed âgood night bug, sweet dreamsâ you say giving him a kiss on the forehead then heading back to the living room you see that Avery has moved to sit next to Capri, you decide to lean on the wall and just watch them for a minute âcapi?â Avery says looking up at Capri âyes?â Capri says looking down at the small girl âyou stay so me see you in morning? Pweaseâ Avery asks âOf course Iâll stayâ Capri says with a smile her heart absolutely melting at how adorable this is, you decide to make your presence known âpsst, sweet peaâ you say motioning her to come to you, she comes over to you and you squat down to her level âare we doing story time tonight?â You ask âyes pweaseâ she says with a nod followed by a small yawn âdo you want to do it on the couch or your room?â You ask âcouch, me want capi tooâ she says excitedly âok go pick a book and bring it to the couchâ you say with a smile, standing up and moving out of her way so she can go in her room âsoâŚare you spending the night?â You ask sitting next to Capri âis that ok?â Capri says looking up at you âof course itâs okâ you say leaning in for a kiss âoh thank goodness because Avery already asked and I said yesâ Capri said with a small giggle then connected your lips to hers, itâs a short but sweet kiss. You both pull away a few short seconds after Avery enters the living room with a small book âstowy timeâ the little girl says as she sits in your lap while also leaning her head on Capri. You read the book and about 5 pages in Avery had fallen asleep âpsst, y/nâ capri said interrupting you reading âyeah?â âSheâs asleepâ Capri says and you look down to see an adorable sleeping girl âalright sweet pea, letâs get you in your bedâ you said scooping up the small girl and taking her to her room, you come back to see Capri in the kitchen cleaning up, you come up behind her and wrap your arms around her waist âhi babyâ you whisper âoh shit y/n you scared meâ Capri says a little startled âoh Iâm sorryâ you say pressing a gentle kiss on her neck âmmmâ Capri hums in content, âwe can clean in the morning baby, letâs just go in my room and cuddle pleaseâ you say then kiss her shoulder âhmm ok babe letâs goâ she says turning to face you then giving you a quick kiss, you hold her hand and pull her into your room, you both plop on your bed âdo you want to change or are your clothes ok? You ask sitting up but leaning in your forearms âcan I borrow some of your clothes?â She asks âof course you can baby â you say getting up and heading to your closet, you grab the hoodie of your she always likes and some Pyjama shorts âthank you babeâ she says when you hand her the clothes, you pull your shirt off and Capriâs eyes linger on you, she comes over and wraps her arms around your bare waist âmmm baby what are you doingâ you say with your hand on her arm rubbing it gently with your thumb ânothing you just looked really pretty so I wanted to hug youâ she said kissing the back of your neck causing you breath to hitch ânothing more than kisses tonight, ok?â You say Capri turns you around and pulls you in for a kiss âI love youâ Capri says pulling you in for another kiss then hugging you âok not that I donât like it but why are you being so clingy? Is everything ok?â You ask âmhm Iâm goodâ the two decide to lay down âbabeâ âyes babyâ âdo you think weâll ever have kidsâŚlike together?â Capri asks
âyeah baby I think Iâd like that, wait why are you bringing that up?â you say gently massaging Capriâs scalp âseeing you today with Avery and Max, I donât know I guess it just made me wonder about usâ she says getting a little shy âaw baby, really?â You ask kissing her forehead âyeah, I think youâd make an amazing momâ Capri says rubbing her thumb along your knuckles âyouâd be an amazing mom too baby, seeing you especially with Avery who typically doesnât like new people made my heart just full of joy, I canât wait to see where life takes usâ you say giving her a gentle kiss, she then lets out a small yawn âmmm babe Iâm tiredâ she mumbles into your neck âme too babyâ you say as you pull her in close to cuddle âgood night my loveâ capri says with her head on your chest âgood night babyâ you say, you both doze off and dream about your future together

A quiet moment - Din Djarin
Pairing : Din Dajrin x F!reader Summary: a short drabble about Din Djarin and domestic life. Takes place after Little Heart .
Warning : T to M theme? Nothing to serious really. Mostly soft fluffiness.Â
A/N : I am making a whole series out of this â A quiet moment â for my favourite boys. All of them deserves some softness and fluff and domesticalityÂ
MASTERLISTÂ for the previous stories in this multi-part fic.
You slowly open your eyes. Noticing itâs still quite dark, not yet dawn. Reaching out to the otherside of the bed, searching for your riduur, instead you find it empty.Â
Your clan of three decided to settle on Nevarro for the time being, taking up Kargaâs offer of land and house ( a private hot spring on your land was what sold you ), while waiting to give birth. Grogu was very happy to meet few of his friends again at the newly established school which Karga has set up, although you have tutored him quite a lot during the travel, you convenience Din it is best for him to go to school, learn to do some socialisation with children around the same age. ( âMental age.â Din reminded you.)Â
It wasnât an easy birth. But luckily after hours of labour, you and Din welcomed your second child into the clan without complications. Grogu was so excited to be a big brother, follows you and Din around ( whoever has the baby in their arm ) eager to help out, anything from holding the bottle, staring at the baby while they are sleeping, to poor attempts to soothe them if they cry. Deciding to get up and search for your missing riduur, you slowly make your way towards the family room. You find Din sometimes, in his insomnia state, likes to sit there, polishing his armour and weapons. Itâs almost like a meditation to him, keeping him calm.Â
Passing by the nursery on the way, you heard a low voice. Singing.Â
You peek through the slight gap of the door, thereâs Din, just visible through the silver moonlight shining through the slight gap of shutter, dressed only in his lounge pants, rocking your newborn ikâaad, singing a lullaby. Din lifts his head, noticing you leaning against the frame of the door, tears in your eyes, overwhelmed by the sight. Soft smile appeared on his face. You quietly shuffle towards the pair. Shifting his hold slightly, he extended one of his arms towards you, pulling you gently into embrace. Leaning your head against his chest, looking at your ikâaad, whose eyes are starting to close, slowly falling back to sleep.Â
âKeep singing Din. I love hearing your voice.â
Din continues to sing. Now rocking both of you.Â
Finally settled back to sleep, Din released the hold on you and gently put the baby back into the cot. You tuck the baby back into the blanket, and Din lean his head into the crook of your neck, embracing you from behind. âWas that a lullaby from Aq Vetina? I only recognise a few words here and there.â
âOur polyglot couldnât recognise the language?â Din teased you.Â
You lightly smack his hand. â Shuush. I am good with languages but that doesn't mean I am a protocol droid that understands EVERYTHING.â you chuckled. â.... It was a lullaby my mother used to sing to me. One of only a few things I remember from my life on the planet.â He murmured, you can hear a bit of emotion in his voice. You clutch onto his hand tight. â Canât let the memory fade then. Keep singing it. Pass it down to our adâike. So they can pass it down to their Adâike. It will be the song of Clan Mudhorn.â
Few days later, you saw Din, who is holding the baby in his arm, teaching Grogu who is sitting in his lap, the lyrics of the lullaby. Your sweet little Pea although he couldnât pronounce the words, was trying his hardest, mimicking the tune. Your clan of four. For all the credits in the galaxy you wouldnât trade it for anything else.Â

Ghosts
Boo!!! Family fluffy fic in time for spooky season!! Set after S2E2 Ghost Ship. A little hurt/comfort in there but not scary, plus lots of siblingly banter, shenanigans and cuddles!!
Authors note: I haven't actually seen more than 5 minutes of any of the redacted for spoilers movies, but I googled it which totally counts.
Oh and you might recognise some of this from wip wednesday but there's alot more now. This was originally supposed to be short, like under 1000 words short but nope!! I had much fun writing!!
@idontknowreallywhy *steals your popcorn*
---------
John really hoped that Scott and Kayo had forgotten about his and Alanâs whole âmaybe, possibly, just a tiny bit absolutely terrified of ghosts,â slip up on the comms.Â
He really thought they had. Until the next family movie night.Â
To set the scene: it was a cool, pleasant evening on Tracy Island. John was down from Five and the fresh breeze was a welcome change from recycled air. All the family was piled onto couches, well except for Grandma and Brains who were in his lab making enthusiastic upgrades to the already far too overpowered oven.Â
Gordon and Virgil were squabbling over whether sweet or salty popcorn was the better flavour, while eating from a bowl mixed of both, like they did every time. Gordon preferred salty, likening it to the unfortunate comparison of celery crunch bars despite the two bearing little resemblance. Virgil vehemently argued for sweet ever since he had discovered coffee caramel popcorn.
Scott attempted to mediate without getting kicked by Virgilâs feet on his lap as the family tank lunged to get the fish in a headlock. Alan egged all parties on. Kayo delicately plucked the popcorn bowl from amid the fray and joined John where he watched from the relative safety of the other sofa.
He took a handful of kernels from Kayo, shaking his head at the antics of the others. Every time. The same argument played out, when the two of them actually preferred both flavours mixed in the same bowl. Why, John didn't know. He tolerated it for the free pre-movie entertainment though.
Finally, everyone got settled. Scott sat between two pouting brothers who before the end of the movie would be snuggled up together, half falling asleep. Alan fetched frozen peas for what John suspected was more likely for Virgilâs bruised pride than injury from Gordonâs lumpy elbows, while Gordon was consoled over the indignity of being sat on at one point by the heavy lifter. Then more popcorn for reparations, when they noticed the missing bowl and Kayoâs smug expression.Â
John stretched out on the couch, while the others were crowded on the next one. Kayo was perched above him, in reach of their bowl of popcorn. They all would move about through the movie, because no one round here could sit still for a whole hour-and-a-half minimum, and the hugs had to be shared around.
âSo, what are we watching?â John asked, completely in ignorance of the forthcoming answers.
âNemo! Or Moana! Blue Planet!â Gordon screeched, because he always quick to suggest marine themed ones at every turn in hopes someone would fall for it.
âItâs not even his turn,â Alan grumbled. âWhat about something with zombies? Not more boring fish.â
Gordon gasped, âAn affront upon my friends! The kraken will have you for that!â
John rolled his eyes at the typical tinies dramatics.Â
âAlan, you picked last time,â Virgil said, totally reasonably except for his stage whisper to Gordon of, âGet him, Squid!â
Aaand they were back in kahoots. Not even a record for the timing.Â
Alan appealed to Scott to protect him with big, blue puppy eyes, and got away with it because he was still the baby of the family. Despite how he complained about âsmothering older brothers,â he was very happy to use the privilege when it suited him.
Long suffereringly, Scott said, âGords, you canât drag Alan down to the watery depths, youâd be bored without your partner in crime.â
John watched on. Very well behavedly, without starting any fights or causing any trouble, heâd like to add. Because he was the sensible, responsible one of this bunch.
âEos,â John asked his comm, âWhoâs turn is it to choose what we watch?âÂ
Then he added, âYou did say you wanted to watch the next Star Trek, like we talked about.â He didn't quite wink at her, but only because that wouldn't have been very subtle.
âItâs your turn to choose, of course, John,â Eos replied, loud enough everyone would hear, âStar Trek would be, as you put it, awesome.âÂ
John struggled to keep a straight face. âThen Star Trek it is,â he said with all the authoritative gravitas of Thunderbird Five.
Scott face palmed.Â
John shrugged. âWorth a try.âÂ
Everyoneâs voices rose to argue with him.Â
âReally, Eos?â Virgil questioned the AI, staring foolishly at the ceiling.
Gordon protested,âWe just had Star thingy, the week before Alanâs Zombie Apocalyspe Twenty or whatever.â
âHey!â Alan came to defend the merits of Zombie Apocalyspe Twenty or whatever.
Scott looked betrayed by his supposedly second eldest brother. âAre you an adult or are you eight?â
John huffed, âI totally could have pulled this off when I was eight.âÂ
âAwww, clever ickle Johnny,â Gordon heckled.Â
âDonât call me Johnny, plankton.â The fish would soon be fish food if he kept trying it.
âDid I upset itty bitty baby Johnny?âÂ
âJoooohnyyyy,â Alan joined in, because he wanted to be causing trouble.Â
John was one more mangled rendition of his name from tackling them both, gravity be damned.
âHow many times do we have to say that using Eos to back up your claims does not make them any more valid when she canât be objective about it?â Scott interjected, in an attempt from stopped things from getting out of hand.
âFew hundred more at least.â John grinned. He hadn't forgotten certain remarks though.Â
General groans followed all round. And another face palm. A few more grey hairs and a red forehead for Scott was in order.
âThis time happens to be my choice,â Kayo stated. Out of the blue and right on target.
In the shadow of those innocuous words, John missed the mischievous look his sister and eldest brother shared. How the very atmosphere changed.
In synch, they burst out together, âGhost Busters!âÂ
They sung it. Loudly. Complete with catchy jingle.
Alan and John looked at each other in horror.
Ghosts.
âIâm not scared,â Alan burst out.Â
John settled back and crossed his arms. Theyâd have to try harder to get him.Â
Harder than the big cartoon ghost logo that had appeared, hovering unnaturally in the middle of the room. Projected from the holo tv, of course. Like you normally watched movies with. Nothing spooky going on there.
Far too often people underestimated Scottâs ability to be a pain in the ass of a brother, and Kayoâs capacity for mischief.Â
John was never going to make that mistake.
He made it through the introduction. This was going to be fine. The movie was positively ancient, the first of the franchise coming out way back in the 1900s. He looked it up on his tablet before Scott made him put it away because it was family movie time, and the movie was supposedly far more of the comedy genre than horror.Â
John still wrapped himself up in one of the many blankets they kept by the couches, as if crocheted orange stitches could protect him from ghostly chills. Actually, scratch that, it was because he was cold, nothing supernatural about it.
The first ghost came up on screen. John absolutely didn't shrink back from it. He heard Alanâs gasp as he scrabbled for his own blanket.
The special effects were archaic. Definitely not realistic enough to be scary, John told himself. Nope, not scary at all.Â
Ghosts werenât real, after all.
No reason to be scared.
Something went bang and John yelped in alarm. He cast around for threats. Then landed on Virgil, picking up the empty popcorn bowl from the floor.Â
He and Gordon had already migrated to sit on the rug together and yet somehow still managed to make a clatter.
Innocent brown eyes met Johnâs. They widened, like those of some sweet animal that could do no wrong.Â
âWhoops,â Virgil said, âSorry about that.âÂ
Appearances could be deceiving.
The family peacekeeper was as much a trouble maker as any of them.
John glared at him.Â
Virgil raised a brow then cheerfully turned back to the movie.
To the ghosts. The glowing, comedically ridiculous pieces of animated filmic trickery that his brain still insisted were worthy of terror.Â
John missed a few vital parts of the sequence of events whilst trying not to look at the projection. Then it exploded. Exploding ghosts.Â
Ugh, all that ooze. John shuddered at the phantom sensation of it landing on him as it splattered everywhere.
The movie continued. More ghosts. More exploded ghosts.
Sudden noises from outside, normal noises of their island wildlife, made John jump. What had been a pleasant breeze now raised goosebumps where it trailed its icy fingers across his skin.Â
He glanced towards Alan to see how he was handling it. John had looked out for his little brother on the mission with the threats of an actual ghost ship floating in the dead of space, and heâd make sure he was okay in the safety of their loungeroom too.
Alan had his shoulders hunched up to his ears, only his eyes and a few strands of bright blonde hair visible beneath the blanket.Â
This situation called for being the bigger brother. John crossed the few steps to the other couch and sat down next to Alan. If he happened to also be closer to Scott, things just turned out like that.
Then the smotherhen paused the movie.
âIf you,â Scott glanced at Alan and then him for that, âReally donât want to watch the movie, Iâm sure Kayo would be alright with picking something else.â
Alan shrugged, âI mean itâs not zombies but it is kinda funny. Letâs go for it.âÂ
Alan did also like watching horror movies, where scaring yourself silly appeared to be the entire point.
John, not so much. It was the jumpscares. And the high percentage of plot important ghost-infested scenes. Though at least the contents of a book couldn't suddenly pop up and scream in your face. Not unless a bored Gordon got his hands on it, but John was not going to give him any ideas on that front.
John had had enough. So he did what he still always did when the world was too scary, whether or not he admitted to it. Go to Scott.
He threw away his pride and tucked himself into Scottâs side. Not matter how small the fear, big brother hugs made it better.Â
He waved his okay for the movie to be unpaused, it wasn't scaring him badly enough he wanted to stop it all together plus he was enjoying family movie night. But that was no reason not to spend the rest of it right here.Â
Scottâs arm went around John, pulling up the blanket and cuddling him closer. John curled up small, his legs beneath him, arms under the blanket and hugging Scott, resting his head on Scottâs chest.Â
He mightâve hidden his face behind Scottâs shoulder any time anything ghostly came up. So what, everyone was allowed one illogical fear.Â
In the middle of the climax of the movie, where either the ghosts would be busted or the ghost busters, Alan leapt up and ran to the other sofa.Â
He hugged a very surprised Kayo around the middle and declared, âYouâve got to protect me. Youâre my only hope, Kayo!â
John felt the vibrations of laughter as Scott retorted, âWhatâs that say about me?âÂ
Alan looked their big brother up and down. âKayo would be better at kicking ghost ass.â
Which he was probably correct about.
Kayo sported a proud grin, over her surprise and settling into her role of big sister, which sheâd learnt from the rest of them as she let them in as her family. âYouâre damn right I would be.âÂ
She pulled Alan into her arms and rested her chin on his head. Alan happily snuggled closer.
âLanguage, the both of you,â Scott half-heartedly reprimanded,Â
Alanâs eyes lit up, âBut last week I heard you call that guy who deliberately ignored the safety protocols a âfuââ
âAlan!â Scott cut their youngest off sharply.
The cheshire cat smile on Alanâs face only grew. âBet grandma would have something to say about that, wouldn't she? And the baking dish from yesterdayâs lasagne still needs scrubbing, doesn't it?â
Scott glared at him, a hint of a pout at being called out for hypocrisy.Â
Alan held out a hand, wriggling his fingers.Â
Scott grumbled grumpily and leant across to hand over the last of his own popcorn.
Alan smiled sweetly, employing those not so innocent baby blues. âThanks Scotty.â
John bit down on his lips to hide his own grin. Heâd taught Alan much in negotiations and now he was his own certified menace. John was also close enough to hear the less than Grandma friendly words Scott was muttering under his breath.
What made it all the more funny was grandmaâs own potty mouth and creativity with expletitives, where âDo as I say but not as I do,â couldn't even come to her defence.Â
Soon enough, or in Johnâs opinion, couldn't be soon enough, the ghosts were all busted and the end credits rolling.Â
John yawned, warm and nearly sleepy by Scottâs side, in spite of featured phantoms, spirits, ghouls and all manner of monsters. He was safe with his brothers.
Everyone began to get up to head off to bed. Scott poked a very settled pile of Virgil and Gordon with his foot when they looked like they werenât moving.Â
Good nights were said with their usual accompanying hugs, then they all went up the stairs to their own of the row of bedrooms.
John snuck in an extra hug with Scott, before he dared enter his own.Â
The lights flicked on straight away, courtesy of Eos.Â
He checked all the corners and beneath his bed, because he wasn't Thunderbird Five for lack of definitely necessary precautions, and pulled on his pyjamas. Space ones, galaxy purple with shooting stars, of course.Â
Maybe he also asked Eos to keep an eye out for anything outside the usual parameters, but that was just between them.
Then he snuggled beneath his blankets, making sure none of his limbs were sticking out in the cold, not at all because of the irrational thoughts about ghosts grabbing him by the ankles and dragging him out.Â
Johnâs eyes slipped closed. He was nearly approaching soft, soothing sleep, when he jolted back awake.
There was a sound.Â
Not a loud one, but then ghosts werenât always loud. Sometimes they snuck up on you. That was the worst.
John pulled the blanket over his head when his bed room door whooshed open.Â
A figure crept in.Â
John froze, sleep deprived mind not thinking clearly, imagination too full of things that go bump in the night. Maybe if he stayed very, very still it wouldn't see him.
The shadow moved across the room, coming ever closer.Â
John held his breath and hid.
Then the figure tripped on a book John had left on the floor and resolved into Alan swearing up a storm.Â
He hopped, rubbing at his toes, not at all scary. The furthest from that in fact, his littlest brother who still hadn't had his growth spurt and was just a kid who played too many video games and flew a rocket ship and loved the stars as much as he did.
John exhaled with a heaving swoosh, unburying himself from his blankets. Somewhat. Better safe than sorry, and it was still kinda cold on the island compared to temperature controlled Five.Â
âHey John,â Alan said, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck, âCan I stay here tonight, thereâs weird noises in my room?âÂ
John nodded hurriedly. âBest get Virgil to check it out in the morning.âÂ
He pulled the blankets back for just long enough for Alan to hop in, then huddled back beneath them.
âYouâre scared too?â Alan was far too astute.
In the dark, hiding from imaginary things, John could admit more than he would in the daytime.Â
âYeah I am. But weâll be okay because weâre together.â
Alan cuddled up to him, pressed as close as possible against Johnâs chest. John wrapped his arms around Alan, burying his face in his soft hair.Â
He could feel Alanâs voice as quiet vibrations by his shoulder. âYeah, we will be.â
Somehow, that made the corners far less likely to be containing any sorts of ghosts.

Warning: NONE
{SAM AND READER ARE BOTH 18 IN THIS}
Sam sat with his back against my headboard, staring at the posters on my wall. I had 'snuck' him in about half an hour ago. Emphasis on snuck because my older brothers didn't care, they always knew about him coming over and never told Mama and Daddy about it.
Because I wouldn't see the light of day if they did. Neither would Sam.
Shaking his head he took a slice of pizza from the plate and bit it. "What?" I asked placing the drink can back on the nightstand. "When are you gonna get some new posters? I'm sick of looking at TLC and the Fugees." He sighed shaking his head.
"Actually, I got some stuff today and I got you something too."
I stood up from the bed going over to the chair that sat in the corner grabbing posters and going back over to the bed plopping down. "I got OutKast and Aaliyah, and I got you this."
He looked at me, taking the poster from my hand.
I watched Sam excitedly as he opened the signed Marvin Gaye postered.
"Y/N/N, how did you get this?" He asked eyes never leaving the poster. " I laughed, "I had to fight some guy for it, and I wasn't gonna back down." He chuckled shaking his head. "Thank you," He mumbled rolling it back up and putting it to the side.
We finished off the rest of the pizza, and we talked about random stuff. Time kinda got away from us before we knew it.
It was a little after 12.
He's stayed past 12 before, but that was when my parents were at home sound asleep and not out at work trying to get everything ready for the 10-year anniversary party in the upcoming week. "I guess I better leave before your parents get home," said Sam standing from the bed.
"Do you have to?"
"Baby you know I have too, your pops would kill me if he found out I was in here. We lucky we've been getting away with it this long." I rolled my eyes, I knew he was right, but I would still miss him. I walked over him pulling him into a hug.
"I'll see you tomorrow."
"You most definitely will." He said before kissing me. I hugged him tighter wrapping my arms around his neck. His hands rested on my waist, squeezing gently. "Sweet Pea, I came to say good, what the hell." Daddy's voice boomed making me and Sam jump apart.
"Dad, I can explain." I tried to reason, but he wasn't hearing it.
"No, the both of you downstairs right now. Y/N I'll get your Mama, so she can call Paul and Darlene for Sam." Daddy walked away from the door going down to his and Mama's shared bedroom, leaving us alone again.
Neither of us said anything as we headed downstairs, not knowing what the punishment for our consequences was gonna be.
Either way, it wouldn't have mattered because I know we both would do it again.
