i wish i could articulate the experience of seeing a band you're into live like actually seeing them in person because its so strange yet fascinating

#every time i hear take me for a ride by sparks it makes me think of the nyc show - the first show of theirs i saw #bc that was their walk on music. and i was front row for that show #and like. it was so surreal. so strange. obviously in a good way but its just something id never experienced before #and i noticed this especially with russell in that i had a weird thought that went 'oh wow thats him. he realls looks like himself'#and like of course he looks like himself but what i meant by that was he looks like that guy who ive seen 5 billion images of. hes that guy #like not only does he look like the him in more recent pictures but seeing him in person like 10 feet away #its like i could recognize every era of him. i could see like 70s russell in his face. bc of course thats his face! but still #is this making any sense.#like i feel like if you met 70s russell once and never saw him again until now youd immediately recognize him #and sure thats because of two other things - one that he has distinct facial features kinda and also that hes aged so well #but it was again so surreal to be like. in the same space. right in front of. fairly close to. that guy whos been in my phone. you know?#this was true for ron and the other guys in the band too of course its that feeling of wow its them! those people ive only seen pictures of!#and again being front row for that was bonkers insane. its like what do you mean these people are real #but the thing w russell i just especially noticed almost immediately when they came out onstage like hes that guy. for real #is this making any sense . anyway i just had to finally get this one out #the only downside of this experience was that yes these people are real and yes they can see me. a little anxiety inducing #its like nooooo dont look at meeeee im such a weirdo i bought a ticket to see you like everyone else here #anyway. concert thoughts

The Me who bought tickets to see TMBG in february 2023 and the Me who's going to actually go to the show next month are two completely different people

#slash extremely negative #it's funny to actually live this whole sort of cliche of: the time between buying tickets and going to the show can be so absurdly long #with what was supposed to be my 1st 'real' concert no less #'i bought the tickets as a teenager but i'm going to see them in my 20s etc' and stuff like that #and then when it gets rescheduled too... well. a year and 9 months is in fact a pretty long time!!!#and i'm not even talking about rescheduling due to covid because god at least i didn't have to deal with that i guess #(it IS funny though that by the time the 30th anniversary of flood tour ends #flood will be 2 months away from turning 35. so yeah lmao a lot happened in the meantime huh)#anyways day two of going crazy going insane for no reason other than well i guess that's just my life now!!!!! 😃😃😃#me when i say i'll stop documenting my rapidly progressing mental breakdown online and then keep doing it anyway #but idk maybe this will heal me in some way. my only hope rn no joke #and my mom actually seemed to be unsure if i we should book the hotels and stuff because. ig i'm this obviously unwell even over the phone #but BY GOD this is the only thing i can really look forward to right now i really need this to survive #(trying to forget how i was doing in september of last year when they rescheduled the tour #and i couldn't even be sure if i'd ever get to see them in the end lollllll #and at the heights of my tmbg obsession this was my number 1 dream. i mean it still is)#also i think i'm finally entering my tmbg autumn era now with some more frequent listening after not doing so for a while #how could i let myself pretty much forget that i love tmbg??? and that their music is so good and makes me happy???#they're still my fav band of all time just like they were back then. THAT didn't change at least #it's just that now they share that spot with sparks also lol. can't choose between them and why should i anyway #what else. ig i just hope i get the energy to finally draw tomorrow at least #because if i don't turn the ideas i have into reality then they will never become real! and that would be so sad #so maybe this can be my main reason to continue for now. whatever #goosepost

i saw this tiktok about the ticket prices the other day and like....... it's so crazy how people are STILL buying those tickets. i saw people on twt saying they sold out in like 15 mins and that's so ???????? (not even to mention all the other reasons we obviously have for a boycott rn lmao but i saw you talking about the tickets and remembered this vid)

from what i searched a while ago, because this convo came up when hybe started to announce svt performing at festivals in europe, dynamic pricing is not exactly illegal in europe but i feel like there are more rules around it than in the us! some tickets for concerts here also have insane pricing but i feel like sometimes it can also be due to inflation which is affecting how prices are in many things (take this with a grain of salt bc i am not an expert in economy this is my speculation LMAO) but i feel like in europe, they are trying to push the dynamic pricing to be like in the us and i wouldn't be surprised if it started to be as crazy but yeah i still think that is a reason why hybe doesn't do tours in europe but instead send groups to random events here! but anyways, back to the actual subject, i feel that YES as fans, people should criticize companies more for this! especially because they will think it's okay to make tickets more expensive since no one is complaining and they keep buying tickets. no tickets should be priced 600$ and then you end up adding tax fees and it's 800$ that's genuinely ABSURD! idk how people are fine with this i suppose if you have money, you don't really care but in hindsight, it's very clear that tickets should not be this at this insane price! and the fact that they sold out in 15 minutes is crazy to me 💀 i hope that not only they are aware that they are giving more money to zionists in that company but they are also making it impossible for people to attend simply bc the tickets are getting more and more expensive

#been a minute since i’ve ranted in the tags on here hi hello #so i have this friend who is driving me absolutely insane #we’ve been friends for about a year or so and when we first met we clicked right away and got super close and hung out all the time #we met at work but neither of us works there anymore and it feels like our whole friendship is falling apart now that we don’t #i literally have not seen her in person once since the last time we worked together (march)#and even before that we didn’t hang out outside of work since december of last year #and i have grown very used to having friends that just do not put the same amount of effort as me into our friendships and it’s sucks #so i was starting to make my peace with the fact that we just weren’t really friends anymore #but then a few months ago she started texting me asking me to hang out all the time and she seemed way more like her old self #and immediately i got sucked back in and was all excited to see her again and have her back in my life fully #but she completely flaked on me three times in a row (not even cancelling our plans but waiting until the next day to give me an excuse)#which like i said i’m unfortunately used to but she literally was the one who invited ME to hang out every time #like why are you initiating plans with me and then ignoring my calls and texts when it comes time to actually hang out #then a few weeks ago she texted me again saying we should go to a concert together bc we hadn’t in a long time #and there happens to be a concert i’ve been wanting to go to on the 31st but had no one to go with #she said she was totally in and really excited and i bought the tickets a couple days later and texted her to tell her i had #got zero response for almost a week and then she texted me yesterday saying we should hang out this week #so i said yeah let’s do it but also this concert is literally in 2 days are you still coming with me #and no response! again! so now i have 2 days to try and find someone else who can go last minute bc it seems unlikely that she will #and i’m just so fucking confused bc why do YOU keep reaching out to ME just to flake out at the last minute every single time #like at this point it feels like she’s doing it on purpose just to see if i’ll keep tolerating her bullshit #and part of me wants to just cut her off bc she’s been a terrible friend to me for months at this point #but i can’t bring myself to do it bc i miss her so much anyway and when our friendship was good it was really fucking good #like i considered this girl one of my best friends and now it feels like she’s just playing games with me bc she’s bored #which sucks extra bc last year she was there for me when literally none of my long time friends were #like it’s bad enough that it seems like our friendship was conditional on us being coworkers #but it hurts more and more every time she reappears in my life just to ghost me again like genuinely why would you do that #so i’m really upset and pissed off rn and i have no idea wtf to do about the concert bc idk anyone else who likes the artist enough to go #vent #lj.txt

here's the post from @fromm_store on twitter that links all the venue's ticketing as many are not using ticketmaster and also links for a separate add on VIP package if you'd like to purchase

so just a clarifying note: no seat comes with VIP, purchasing a seat is just for the concert there are no added benefits as VIP is sold separately through fromm store

pre-sale started this morning (except for atlanta as they had some issues) but if you still want to check it out the code is OOLI, make sure to enter the code or you won't be able to access all the seats!

non-ticketmaster sites (SF, HOU, NY) - pick seats that are marked with a star for normal prices, aisle seats seem to cost more by default and some venues force you to buy seats in pairs which sucks for those planning to go alone, the seats that are filled black dots are marked up because of "demand" similar to ticketmaster's platinum pricing so be mindful unless you're willing to pay more

if you want to wait then normal ticketing + atlanta will start tomorrow, oct. 6th at 10 a.m. EST

The Seattle LCD Soundsystem tickets were $575 CAD EACH.

This better be the best goddamn concert I've ever been to.

Aries and friends are dying to go so I'll suck it up because I know I'll have incurable FOMO, but damn. I love LCD Soundsystem, too. But at what cost? (<-the cost is $575 plus gas)

#that is 500% more expensive than the Chemical Brothers and 300% more expensive than Depeche Mode #i could have bought front floor tickets at Depeche Mode for just $200 more dollars than this concert....#we have somewhere to stay for free so that helps justify #needless to say I won't be getting angelgotchi this month or next lmao #personal

#i’m kind of really heartbroken right now #so i had tickets to the hot freaks concert and went tonight—which i don’t mind posting on here because i live several hours away #so basically i drove to the venue for several hours and stopped like once for food #it was my understanding that windsor was opening and then the hot freaks and then the happy fits i guess but i didn’t know the exact times #we were running a bit late bc of the road trip and walked in at 7:25 (the show started at 7) and i got to see the tail end of ‘boyfriend’#& i was like ‘oh okay i just missed their first song’ but then they walked off stage and my heart dropped. i missed everything #and yeah it’s on me because i must have had a misunderstanding about how the show worked #i’d never even heard of a show where an act performs for 20-25 minutes unless it’s like a variety show or something #i did cry about it already and just tried to have a good rest of the night since we’d already driven for hours #i got to meet the band at the merch table which was really cool and they gave me a free signed CD & sticker & friendship bracelet because—#they felt bad for me. which was very sweet (i also bought a shirt)#i know i should be grateful i was even able to go to the concert. and i still had fun but part of me will always be heartbroken #because financially/geographically it’s not smart to go to another show even further away just to see a 25 minute set when i’ve already got #the merch & all. plus i can listen to them on Spotify #i can only hope they come to a location closer to where i live #but there’s no guarantee because they’re so underground. they only resurfaced because of stupid tiktok & they’re only popular enough to be—#half of an opening act. so they could potentially never go on tour again #if i had more of a platform i would boost their music more but i don’t #i know it’ll be okay. it’s just a lot of things have been going shitty lately and i thought this would make me feel better and it just—#went to shit #tw vent #rose.txt
