After arriving in Thavnair, there was much deliberation over how they should continue on to Dalmasca. Crossing over by boat would be the slowest and safest option, but an airship could get them closer to their destination. However, arranging passage to such a non-standard location proved a bigger obstacle than expected, not to even mention the turbulent winds over the desert region.

"Might I make a suggestion," Varshahn said. "While I can't take you personally, would you consider traveling on dragonback?"

"I suppose...that could work," Fjola held her chin and thought. "A dragon could easily navigate the winds, carry both of us and our baggage, and be less conspicuous than a lone, unannounced airship. But...I don't recall seeing much dragons in Thavnair?"

"Worry not. I have someone in mind, one very fond of helping mortals. I can easily call to her," Varshahn closed his eyes, and a mighty roar faintly echoed from Meghaduta. For a moment, he waited in silence. "...'Tis done. I can't say how long it'll take, but let us proceed to the airship landing, and await her arrival."

While they waited, Fjola had the chance to properly thank Vrtra for his help in Tural, and also introduced Gilded Glance. A little over a bell passed until they saw a red-hued dragon approaching from the horizon, who skillfully landed on the dock without so much as making a sound, clearly used to minding her size and weight around architecture meant for people.

"May I introduce Fylgja, daughter of Ratatoskr herself," Varshan walked over and pet her. "A veritable adventurer in her own right."

"Oh, please, no need for such flattery," she laughed and wiggled. "I'm just doing what I love!"

"Nice to meet you. I'm Fjola, and this is Gilded Glance," she approached, and couldn't resist petting Fylgja's smooth hide. "If you don't mind me saying, you're...Beautiful. Unusually soft for a dragon."

"Hehee, you mortals certainly love that about me," she nudged Fjola with her snout. "...Hmm. You've the faint scent of a dragon yourself...and a tail, besides! What's that all about?"

"Ah...It's a long story," Fjola laughed awkwardly. "And while I'd love to tell you all about it, that's not exactly why we had Vrtra call you here."

"Oh, of course, of course! You wanted to get to Dalmasca, correct?"

"The Whistlewood, to be precise," Gil interjected. "Are you perhaps familiar with such a place?"

"I've heard of it, aye. Never been, but I'm sure I could find it."

"Within the forest is the village Fjola was born in," Gil explained. "She's lost a great portion of her memory, and we're hoping a visit to her previous home might help restore it."

"Oh, you poor thing..! Not that I was going to decline a request from Vrtra himself, but now I simply couldn't, even if I wanted to," Fylgja laid flat against the ground. "We can depart at once! No need to be shy, now. Climb on."

"(She is certainly eager to help,)" Gil whispered to Fjola as she helped him onto the dragon's back. "(I suppose making friends with dragons is just something you're used to?)"

"(I've some...history with them, aye,)" Fjola giggled. "I think we're all ready. Varshahn, could you check if our bags are secured?"

"...Looks like it," he carefully checked that every little pocket was properly sealed. "I wish you luck, Warrior of Light."

"Here we go, then! Hold on tight, my darlings," Fylgja picked up their bags with her forelimbs and prepared to take off. "[Fohl an!]"

George Lever [Sleep Token producer 2016-2021]: The starting point was removing this idea of the music you listen to being related to the person making it. By being anonymous, the listener is forced to relate to what they're actually hearing.

James Monteith [Tesseract guitarist/publicist at Hold Tight PR]: I was approached by Tom Quigley, who was a scene regular and ran a few blogs at the time. He said he was working with this new band, would we maybe be interested in doing their press? We ended up talking for an hour, and he rolled out the whole concept, the imagery and everything about it... other than the music.

George: The lore/narrative was pretty loose still, but it definitely existed.

James: There was nothing specific as such, more this idea of creating an occult vibe and feeling, led by this prophet-like character who leads a religion.

George: A lot of the first EP was actually us trying stuff out. We recorded the drums on a whim at Monnow Valley Studio in Wales. I introduced him to one of my friends, who actually still drums in them now.

James: We always got requests [for interviews], but the band said from the start they were anonymous and wouldn't do them. It helped create more curiosity because nobody could get access to them.

Matt Benton [Metal Hammer writer]: You can't do an introductory piece without an interview. We managed to get an agreement for an email interview with Metal Hammer. Even then, the band knew they didn't want a voice.

Matt: It's one of only a few interviews they've ever done. It's something I'm glad exists, because it's like getting the Word Of God.

George: I had freedom to offer interpretations of what I was hearing. It was a very fortunate combination of personalities and ideals. There was never any, 'We're going to take over the world' -type chat. It was more, 'Do we like this? Let's do more of that.'

Nathan Barley Phillips [co-founder of Basick Records]: Trying to keep some sense of anonymity was a real mission. Particularly getting them to and from the stage [at Great Escape festival 2018] without anyone seeing who they were.

George: We did Sundowning in three months - we went from demo to final master being released in just 12 weeks. We didn't have days off; we'd do seven in the morning until seven, eight or even nine at night every day for three months. We were in each other's pockets; we'd go to the gym together, swim, do the sauna... All this stuff to recover from being sat down all the time. There was a lot of time to spend holistically being friends making this record. We didn't know how to make this thing, but we had a confidence that we'd get there in the end. That's my favourite three-month period of my life.

George: We started making [TPWBYT] and the first day was when lockdowns began. Tomb... was tough for all of us emotionally. There were lifestyle pressures as a result of the lockdown that made it not very conducive to making art that is supposed to be welcoming. A lot of those songs are, in one way or another, about love, love being lost or remorse, they are compassionate tales that are designed to bring the listener towards the artist. It's hard to do that when it feels like the world is going to end.

Matt: I've got friends in merchandising and they say Sleep Token shift more merch than any other UK heavy band - more than even Iron Maiden.

Nathan: Bands like Ghost and Sleep Token aren't successful because they wear masks. They're successful because they write great music. Masks don't mean anything if the music isn't any good.

Matt: I'll be interested to see, when the first official TV movie of the band gets made, the difference between the reality of what happened and the story that gets told. In a way, the myth becomes reality.

Okay can I be a bitter Anders fan for like. Just 2 minutes here lmao

Cause bioware released some game stats for veilguard and apparently 72% of players redeemed Solas which is like. Okay yeah the game kinda pushes you towards that. But when I think of all the shit I used to have to put up with just for enjoying Anders like at all and…

(This is not me being anti-Solas, I do not care if you love or hate him, but I am gonna say what he’s done is like. Objectively worse than literally every other companion so lmao. And that’s fine! You can still enjoy him! I’m not saying you can’t and it’s important to me that people understand that! I’m just saying he did in fact do objectively morally worse things in game than Anders did and I don’t think that’s really debatable. And I can’t really make my point here without saying that but I do want to make it clear this is not some moral condemnation of Solas enjoyers cause it’s not)

Getting anon hate on the regular, being told “oh you’re allowed to like Anders as long as you regularly talk about how much he sucks”, people gleefully describing how much fun they have killing him ON your posts about the fact that you like him, the devs making jokes about shitty fates for him when fans asked innocent questions about him, the absolute audacity of his writer to say half the shit she did in interviews (about bisexuality and mental illness, most critically), and then being beaten over the head again in inquisition about how Anders is the worst character to ever exist and there’s no redemption for terrorists who lie to you one time in the entire game and he deserves death or worse and that’s it

And now… 72% of people are down to redeem the guy who lies to you for 2 games straight and who did a lot of questionable things that includes creating the fucking blight and. Like. I guess I’m glad that Solas fans can live in a world where they aren’t constantly harassed and can give their ship like. A pretty damn good ending all things considered. And that the devs love Solas and actually give the option for that happy ending and have characters go to bat for Solas throughout the game and the most annoying thing they have to see are people making scrambled egg memes. I would not wish anyone to have to deal with the shit Anders fans had to put up with back then cause it sucked. It really sucked. And I’m glad it’s not being repeated with a different character, if nothing else

But like. Man there really is a difference when the writers actually like the character who does the thing, huh
