I really wanna here more about the time travel au. What would c!vanilla and r!vanilla think of each other?

Tbh! I can’t really tell by the abbreviations which one is c and r so I’m sorry about that 😔

But here’s a summary of what I think they think of each other:

On a conscious level both of them realize that the other is themself but they are so removed from each other in age and demeanor that they treat each other as different people, if that makes sense.

In young Pure Vanilla’s mind, he of course is scared of what in the future makes him turn so apathetic to the world, and so reluctant to give and receive kindness. But more importantly, his adult self needs comforting and healing and that’s what he can control and can do for him.

In Truthless Recluse’s (I’ve been calling him Dark Vanilla for the most part as an alias he would use in the AU) mind, he is prepared to protect his child self from Shadow Milk by any means possible and is initially on a hair trigger looking for any signs of Shadow Milk Cookie’s early influence. However, he is slowly but gradually realizing that Shadow Milk Cookie influenced his memories when they interacted, and re-experiencing them from this outside perspective is giving him a tiny bit more peace of mind for the safety of his child self. But this also means that he’s done a lot to himself in the future based on the words of Shadow Milk and is blaming himself for having changed so drastically. He doesn’t believe that he himself will ever be fit to hold the title of hero again, but he does believe that his child self’s potential is separate from his and that child Pure Vanilla, with his boundless kindness, is fully deserving of all the status and power to come his way in the future.

one interesting aspect of percy and rachel's relationship that isn't often highlighted is how empathetic percy must have been toward rachel about seeing through the mist as a small child. because percy was the kid who saw a man with one eye stalking him at the local playground. the kid who saw a horse with wings resting atop the roof of a nearby building. the kid who was nearly killed by a fury disguised as his algebra teacher. and the kid who understood what if felt like to distrust the world around him, to be reprimanded for falling victim to the fear that accompanied it. if it was anything that percy offered rachel. it was the grace of understanding a uniquely mortal experience.

When Alcina leaves she does this turn while smiling before walking out the door followed by her daughters. Daniela is the first to leave after her, and she moves the exact same way as her mother!!! The same turn and sway and also in one of her lines she says that she wants to grow as pretty as her mother. Daniela is the one who takes after her mother the most in actions and some behaviors because she looks up to her and wants to be just like her so she's unconsciously just copying her mother without even realizing it and I find this super adorable.

godd yeah. he's a surly bear of a man who lives in a corrie all by himself. spends all day by the tarn, chopping wood and hunting. built everything he owns with his bare hands. his scent alone send you into an early heat. super authoritative so even without an "alpha command," you're obeying immediately. despite his age, he's unmated (for reasons which of dubious nature). and your former boss (who tried to get you fired on multiple occasions lmao) for the extra power imbalance of it all. he's awful. he's mean. he's never gonna let you go. i love him.

I'm sure it's been discussed at length already but I think it's easy to assume saiyans are strong so their genes are dominant but I (like to) think it's the opposite. It's interesting to think that the ecological nature of a saiyan is stealthy and invasive, and according to Jaco a saiyan invasion was going to be extra dangerous to earth because they look like earthlings (and a lot of other human-like races in the db universe) and one baby saiyan will easily go completely undetected until it starts the extermination process.

so it actually makes a lot of sense to me that a saiyan hybrid would take more physical traits from a local species, while maintaining the potential to house a saiyan's strength and inborn power over ki (which I think due to the story following a group of people who use it is a thing we often forgotten is a super rare and dangerous ability in that universe, and inborn/instinctive to a select few very powerful races). Could also be a fun way to explain why their tails can detach and grow back, since that may be the only real Tell.

because like yeah gohan and goten look like goku but they also look like chichi ykwim? trunks and bulla look like bulma. pan looks like videl. thoughts i chew on.

I also just find parasitism a real good meaty horror concept to put in my little 'this is why everyone's afraid of saiyans' headcanon file along with 'can see in the dark, biologically strategic energy consumption, can go long periods without food or rest' and of course the canonical 'surprise monkey werewolf kaiju'

I love the personalities the four of them display in this fanfic, they're very enjoyable. Pebbles is really cute, harsh in the tongue but soft at the heart- Moon is a lot more pro-active here and we get to see how she indeed is overprotective of her little brother. Suns is so adorable and shy!! And oh boi, NSH my favorite- the "obnoxious, ALWAYS happy" friend- I feel like there is a big hurt he's keeping secret from everyone and gosh do I hope Pebbles gets to pry it out of him. Can someone who likes the 'Tim and Cass are twins' headcanon explain why they like it?? I don't wanna be too harsh on a headcanon but I really don't see the appeal. They're literally different races, which means either you're saying Cass looks White or Tim looks Asian, which are both kinda weird. Unless you're headcanoning Tim as Asian, but if you are, the headcanon is basically 'oh these two Asians look alike'. I'm sure people don't actually think that or have bad intentions, but Tim and Cass' relationship is interesting enough without adding this look-alike layer to it. Anyway appreciate any insights!

Moonchaser headcanons/love story bc I love them sm

They are. So soft with each other. Even before they get together, they’re gentle with each other in a way they aren’t with anyone else.

James loves to take care of Remus after the full moon. Even as far back as first year, before he and the other Marauders knew he was a werewolf and thought he was just sickly. James always makes sure he eats enough, sleeps enough, and takes extra good notes on days when he has to miss class. He always makes sure others are extra kind to him after the full.

It was James’s idea to become animagi, and when Peter and Sirius complained about how hard it was, James would go on rants about how hard the transition is on Remus and how this is the least they can do for him.

James doesn’t take credit for the animagus idea. He doesn’t want the credit, he just wants to be there for Remus.

Remus hates quidditch, to the point that for the first two years of school he never so much as step foot on the quidditch pitch. But when James made the team in third year, he started going to every Gryffindor match, and even, when the weather was nice, took homework out to the stands while Gryffindor was practicing. He claimed it was to support his friend, but secretly, he’s just entranced by watching James fly.

For as long as he can remember, James has said Sirius is his brother, Peter is his best friend, and Remus is…something different. He doesn’t really know what that means until 5th year, when watching Remus cope with Sirius’s “prank”, James’s heart breaks in half.

Speaking of the prank, James is so angry on Remus’s behalf afterwards that he doesn’t even look at Sirius for a month. Sometimes, Remus thinks James might be angrier than he is. By the end of the school year, Remus has mostly moved on (though his trust in Sirius may never be the same), but James and Sirius’s relationship doesnt go back to normal until a month into that summer when Sirius runs away from home.

James spends summer after fifth year coming to terms with his feelings for Remus, and the fact that he’s queer. He doesn’t feel ashamed, but he is very confused because he knows he’s definitely attracted to girls too. As soon as he hears the word “bisexual” for the first time, he knows immediately that that’s what he is.

Remus takes a lot longer to realize his feelings. He has a lot of internalized homophobia and has been pushing down any feelings he’s bad for boys so far that he hasn’t even really noticed they’re there. When he sees James again at the beginning of sixth year, he doesn’t think much of the way his heart speeds up or his hands go clammy. (Literal king of repression)

Remus gets a girlfriend right before the Christmas holidays in sixth year and James cries himself to sleep every night over the break. He puts on a brave face until the end of term, but once they’re home, Sirius sees how distressed he is and nags him about it. James finally confesses his feelings out loud for the first time.

Remus’s girlfriend breaks up with him sometime during spring term and James puts a lot of energy into pretending to be sad for him, but it’s hard when Remus hardly seems sad himself. In truth, dating her wasn’t quite what he expected, and he felt like whenever he was with her, his mind was elsewhere. On a few occasions he found himself wishing he was hanging out with James instead. (Just normal bro things)

After the breakup, Sirius goes out of his way to try and give James and Remus alone time as often as possible. It confuses the shit out of Peter when he’s dragged away for seemingly no reason, but he never really has it in him to argue with Sirius. James quickly realizes what he’s up to, though, and tries to get him to stop, but Sirius always laughs in his face. Remus finds that he isn’t at all upset to be left alone with James so often. He doesn’t really investigate that realization.

It isn’t until summer that Remus begins to pick apart his feelings for James. They spend the whole summer exchanging letters (literally like 4-5 a week, sometimes the response doesn’t even arrive before one of them is writing another letter). Even though Remus misses all his friends, he feels an ache in his chest when he thinks about James. It’s in these letters that James finally comes out to Remus, and the confession turns Remus‘s world on its axis. He starts oscillating pretty rapidly between “I didn’t know it was possible to like both, holy shit am I queer?” And “there is literally no way I’m attracted to blokes” But then every time he gets a letter from James, his heart skips a beat and he spends hours smiling. Finally, just before it’s time for them to return to school, Remus’s mum finally asks about his “girlfriend” that he’s been exchanging letters with all summer, and that’s the thing that makes Remus finally realize he’s irrevocably in love with James Potter.

Literally the moment they’re on the train, Sirius can see that something has shifted for Remus. He looks at James differently than he did before. He makes it his goal to get the two together.

Unfortunately, they’re both idiots, so, even once Remus finally comes out on Halloween, nothing changes between them for MONTHS.

Until finally it’s New Year’s Eve and Remus is at the potters for the annual New Year’s party and Sirius is practically begging both of them (in private of course) to kiss the other at midnight. He doesn’t convince Remus, but ten minutes before midnight, he shoves a drink into James’s hand (“liquid courage”) and calls his bravery into question (“are you a Gryffindor or not??”) and at a minute to midnight, James and Remus find each other and they’re all nervous glances and standing just a little bit too close together, and when it hits midnight and turns to 1978, James says “can I kiss you?” And Remus, of course, says “yes”. It’s chaste and sweet but it’s them and it’s perfect.

The only people they tell about their relationship outside of Sirius and Peter are James’s parents, who are immediately accepting.

Once they’re together, they’re even more inseparable than before. Every night that James has quidditch practice, Remus is in the stands. When Remus leaves the ruckus of the common room to study in the library, James is right behind him. James goes so far as to use (abuse) his power as head boy to schedule them for rounds together as often as Lily will let him get away with.

After a few months together, Moony begins to recognize Prongs as his mate. It scares the shit out of Remus because wolves often bite their mates and the last thing he wants is to turn James. James is completely unconcerned, since Moony only ever sees James in deer form, and deer can’t become werewolves. It also scares him because he has no self esteem, he considers himself dangerous and not good enough for James, and he dreads Moony’s reaction when James finally realizes it and leaves him.

At several points in their relationship, Remus tries to talk James out of being with him. He’s convinced he’ll just make his life harder, he’s dangerous, won’t be able to hold a job, James may be discriminated against for being with a werewolf. James is kind and patient and considerate everytime while remus explains himself, and then every time proceeds to remind him that that’s all bullshit and how much he loves him and wants to be with him no matter how difficult or dangerous it is.

Remus never fully lets himself believe he’s worthy of James, but he eventually lets himself be loved by him. James loathes that he thinks so little of himself and is constantly trying to show Remus how much worthy he is of love and devotion.

I always found that sweet how a lot of the time in TLG Med would jump to reassure Khadgar or even apologize after snapping at him

And yet in some ways the cruelest thing Medivh said to Khadgar in my opinion was correcting him when he called Karazhan “Our Tower.” And reminding him he was there at his whim and he could send him away at any time.

And he never did apologize for that one and honestly I don’t really blame Med for that per se? It is his tower and Khadgar can’t tell him who is allowed there. What I mean is going by JUST the power dynamic they have as mentor-apprentice, Khadgar is absolutely out of line there

In some ways could have come off quite spoiled and entitled but the thing is I don’t think that was the case at all.

He’s become so comfortable in Karazhan he’d started thinking of it as his home. Then Medivh has in one conversation reminded him it very much was not his home and he could send him away at anytime if he so wished it

He’d finally found someone who cared about him, respected him and treated him as a person. He found a place where he felt he belonged for once in his life and…

No wonder he was so jealous of Garona for a while after that. He’d been reminded that all of it could be taken from him at any moment and here was someone stealing his Master’s attention.

Just thinking about how that jealousy so obviously comes with feeling like he’s not enough and insecurity about his place in Med’s life.

Just very interesting how I think it could very well have went over Med’s head as not that big of a deal too? One of those things he’d be like huh oh yeah I said that? Meanwhile Khadgar is spiraling about it

He could of also been absolutely aware of how harsh it was because Medivh does lash out like that on occasion (especially towards the end of the book as Sargeras gets harder and harder to fight) he can be a little shit we know this

(Don’t really blame him for that given being possessed by the demon lord Sargeras is probably just a teensy bit tiring /s)

Also seen valid and honestly very possibly canon interpretations where he’s also trying to push Khadgar away cuz he knows what’s coming and what Khadgar is going to have to do.

The more attached to him he is the more difficult it will be for Khadgar to do what needs to be done.

What better way to push someone away then hit them right where it hurts?

And yet even then I think those words hurt Khadgar deeper than he’ll ever know :(
