Would you say the Dadskall AU concept is compatible with SS AU, and would that affect how certain characters react in the story? Additionally would Robot Iskall have any of Doom's memories or are they still miraculously repressed?

So a lot of new shit dropped in the latest Minecraft update but obviously I only care about the pigs. Let's discuss breeds!

Starting off with the original pig just because— this little guy's probably a Landrace pig!

They're some of the most standard domestic pigs out there along with Yorkshires, but Yorkshires have perkier ears. Landrace pig ears lay flat much more similarly to our Minecraft pigs!

Next we have the warm pigs. These babies are probably Durocs!

Look how red and beautiful they are! There aren't many common red pigs, so it was really between these guys and Tamworths. Tamworths are an Irish breed, so they don't come from a particularly hot climate. Durocs however originated from Africa from what I researched!

And finally we have the cold pigs. These guys are most definitely Mangalicas!

These guys are like. One of the most prominent breeds with thick creamy hair to keep them warm. They're also Hungarian! They're also my favorite pig breed!!!!!

PROJECT FINISHED!

This is the Irish Lullaby Blanket by Rebecca Stylings on etsy. I used 30 balls of Hue & Me yarn, 4110 yards, and it took me maybe four months of work altogether? I took a break over the summer because it was too hot to work on.

It was a lot of fun! I learned how to read crochet charts! It helped me troubleshoot another pattern I've been struggling with! I would like to do it again, but with a lighter weight for my own wrist health!

I'm really loving your #tbt posts lately (which I assume might come from your queue). Thanks for keeping the historical interest flowing. One question: I'd love to know who the family is in the Minnesota photos. I assume you wrote about them in the past, if you have a personal source for the pictures. (My grandfather and his family were from Minnesota, and I recently viewed some photos of them.)

I wish I knew! Unfortunately this is one of several "white whale" albums I've purchased over the years with absolutely no written identification in them, and one of only two I haven't had any luck tracking down any individual people in the photos.

My current best guess is that the album is of a young adults group from the English Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in St. Paul, and was taken in the summer/fall of 1897 or 1898. There is one photo of a group in front of a church with a partial sign visible behind them which I was able to match to that church. I did some additional research and found that the church group did regular summer outings to many tourist spots and lakes in the St. Paul area.

I was able to additionally pinpoint the location to the St. Paul area due to the waterslide in the background of this image and a visible sign for the Nevers Dam (on the MN/WI border) in another.

I compiled a list of a dozen or so people who attended the church at the time (from newspaper mentions of various events at the church) but so far haven't had any luck matching any of those people to the individuals in the album.

It's a great album, about 40 or so pictures in total and I believe it was likely developed at home by an amateur photographer. None of the photos are mounted, being printed on very thin paper, and several have hand applied mats added to the exposures to change the shape - as seen above.

Snapshots from the 1890s are my absolute favorite photographs as personal photography was still in its infancy, and people were still figuring out what exactly to do with the cameras the now had access to. Many of the images are still posed like studio portraits, but you can see the very beginnings of people starting to get creative with what they chose to capture.

Hi! Me again! So, just out of curiosity, would you happen to have a general floor plan or site plan of the overall waterpark and maybe the hotel? (I saw the floor plan for the hotel room and started wondering how the hotel connects to the waterpark). Also, are Sun and Moon only in charge of the waterpark portion?

And to answer your other question, Sun and Moon are in charge of the entire resort and park! (but they did not when Waterspark Bay first opened)

Ah, I read some books in 2024, huh? And eight rereads? Who am I. Tried a lot of new things this year which yay! Go me! Branching out! Not all of those were successes, but I did it and therefore no one can criticise me. But we all know what's important here. So here you go, THE BEST AND WORST OF 2024 (in no particular order)!

THE BEST BOOKS OF 2024

The Adventure of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty - yes, I am still thinking about this, thank you for asking! A full entire adult of a person, a mother even, going on adventures? Fighting and killing and fucking and living? Hell yeah! More of this, please! I would also love to see a prequel of Amina's adventures before the book timeline. Everything about this was so great, I look forward to rereading it.

The City We Became by NK Jemisin - I was wary about this because it was so polarizing to readers. On one hand, even my least favorite Jemisin was still fun, on the other hand, I know nothing about New York. HOWEVER. The audiobook was FABULOUS. I wholeheartedly believe the audio is why I enjoyed this so much. This was FUN this is what reading should feel like all the time.

When the Angels Left the Old Country by Sacha Lamb -FRIEND TO MY SOUL. Again, beautiful audio performance. Beautiful story. I need my own copy so I can reread this to my hearts content. It's cute, it deals with heavy topics, it's gay, it's the friend to my soul.

WORST BOOKS OF 2024

The Novice by Taran Matharu - Ugh. Bought when released, knowing nothing, which seems to be a Theme with books sitting on my shelf I end up not enjoying. Learning about the history of this book made me more angry than the book itself. What do you mean his entire series was bought and published without an editor? It shows, but. Come on. Wattpad born and it shows.

Last Heir to Blackwood Library by Hester Fox- this was only for a summer reading bingo challenge, but come on. There are ways to pull the memory loss, or altered memory plot line and have it work. This did not do that. Wish a library would eat my memories of this book so I never had to think of it again.

Red Sister by Mark Lawrence - Mark Lawrence is one of those authors who writes long books because he thinks it makes him a Good Writer. Mark Lawrence is one of those writers who is afraid to write adult characters because he thinks they won't sell, but continuously puts them in adult situations to show how Hard their lives are and Isn't This Dark And Gritty And Sad without doing the work to actually get there. It toes the line between fantasy in scifi, but not well. It feels more indecisive than anything else.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Firebreak by Nicole Kornher-Stace -more like fireBROKE MY HEART!!!! It was on my tbr list for years, and I finally found a copy and I'm glad I own it so I can reread it at my leisure. It's what Ready Player One could have been if it was actually good.

Godkiller by Hannah Kaner - Okay honestly, this and City were fighting for a spot in the main top three. Either could be there. I do honorable mentions for this very reason. I was surprised to learn this was a tiktok book, because yknow. It's actually Good. Witcher vibes, but with more respect towards women. Why isn't book three in my possession right this second.

Someone You Can Build A Nest In by John Wiswell - I Am Normal About This Book. It was fun to read and annotate it for a friend. It was fun to be around as two friends read it and I loved seeing their reactions to it. Loved cheering on Shesheshen, still think she deserves to eat more people. Friends and I will still share biting goop memes with the caption "Shex3 posting". It's safe to say this has rewritten my brain.

DISHONORABLE MENTIONS

Legacy of Ash by Matthew Ward - I was hyped about this book before release. I bought book two before even reading this because I was that sure I'd enjoy it. What a fool. This did NOT have to be 800 pages. It was another example of someone writing many words because they think that's what Good Writers Do, and not stopping to think about what those words even SAY. Which, in this case, was ~Absolutely Nothing~

Ghost Station by SA Barnes - crying sobbing this book was so fucking stupid. Best thing to come out of it was seeing a friend read it and confirming that yes, it was That Fucking Stupid. Learning the author mainly writes YA Paranormal explained why everyone had Too Stupid To Live disease.

I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons by Peter S Beagle - Admittedly only here to make things even and because it's still pretty fresh in my mind. I was soooo excited when this was announced, and now I'm soooo happy I didn't preorder it. More boring than anything else, but I don't wish it was longer because it already felt Too Long.

Once again, ignored rereads because I feel like that's cheating somehow. Let these be for highlighting new and fun books I discovered! I feel like the last few Bricks I've read have been Very Bad so I hope a couple of the bricks I have planned for 2025 are actually good. Considering one of those is Labyrinth's Heart, I think we're okay.

hiii pls check out the flag for Bonney Lake, WA. i can only find one size of it online and it's very small which really adds to it.

Truly incredible, especially because I can't find any evidence that this is a seal of the city or anything.

The flag for the City of Bonney Lake was first developed in 2008 for use in a parade of flags at an annual conference of the Association of Washington Cities held in Yakima, WA. Bonney Lake City Administrator Don Morrison provided input to graphic designers, Matautia Design, of Olympia, WA.

I think this style is quite typical for flags made very impromptu for events like this, I can understand why it doesn't receive much usage, but the fact that it was indeed created by a graphic design firm does heighten my viewing experience.

I find myself particularly entranced, by the inclusion of the "original flag" with the misspelling of incorporated (as "incorperated" -- as it is usually pronounced). I wonder if it's possible to still find these out in the wild...

I find their logo to be much more suitable for the type of low effort logo flag I mentioned earlier, and I think this might actually be what's flying outside of their Justice & Municipal Center

The city website has a similar image on its front page, but the flag is similarly obscured there as well.

so we know that geto in general has a paternal/maternal instinct like he’s Mother he’s Father he’s an icon he’s a legend etc… but i love the idea of him being the older!bf to his younger!gf and showing her the ropes almost? i think the fic will include just different scenes in their relationship like maybe one scene will be him protecting reader from someone/something, a scene based on love and his experience with love and teaching reader, maybe a hurt/comfort argument about reader & him and suguru acting more like a father rather than a boyfriend in their relationship, and then maybe also a suggestive scene which i think will be a bit dark yet sexy and i’m THINKING of including almost a punishment? like a mouth/teeth inspection… him being sexy & suave & condescending and showing reader the ropes… idk if that makes sense but it makes sense in my brain i can only HOPE that it comes out well in writing 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️
