something I don't often see pagans talking about is smelling random things that associate with ur deities even if that thing is nowhere near you. sometimes I'll smell the perfume I use for Aphrodite when I'm not wearing it, or the ocean, or the Pirates of the Caribbean ride water (iykyk), or the Soarin' smellitizers. I feel like Lady Aphrodite uses this olfactory skill the most but others stop by too in this way and it's always a nice lil reminder that my deities are always with me :)

Bungee Jump Through Hell.

What I couldn't see was exchanged entirely for what I could distinctly feel shifting in the pitch black hall. Maybe pitch black isn't exactly right, though. I noticed a tinge of the most unappealing red I'll ever see. As much as I wish it had been, it was far from the last time I'd be faced with that putrid color. Color seems like too good of a word for it, really. As you probably guessed, I could tell that much more than that simple hallway had morphed. Not just in appearance. It was something else.

The whole place. Past the school, the property, the block, the town. It was beyond this fucking universe how different everything was. I didn't move a muscle when those lights went out, not so much as a slight twitch or flinch. But I knew I was in the different place. It was completely same. I was alone.

I don't know where they went. They weren't there. I didn't blink. I was alone. Red.

I saw all of the nothing. Every last bit of void. People were there with me before. I think they still were. But I don't know where they went.

I could hear my heartbeat echo and bounce against cold metal what was the metal? The school tile and brick only door should have metal.

That blood. That monster's blood. I could smellit. Something was burning.

Light reentered my eyes and everything was fucking disgusting. It was like the feeling of anxiety itself had manifested into a single realm. And that's where I was. And in that realm of fear incarnate, that hideous thing was still there against the glass which made up windows in the metal door. Probably bulletproof. Didn't matter how bulletproof it might've been because the thing's "blood" began melting and burning through both the glass and the metal. It wasn't even moving anymore and it still found a way to keep fucking with me.

This isn't about me it never was I'm not a chosen one that survived because he was special and capable enough to do what nobody else could it never happened it never happened itneverhappeneditneverhappened let this fucking stop.

I heard something. I ran into the principal's office as fast as I could. Cutting through the lobby to the Nurse's Office. For some reason I don't even care to know, it was already open. I remember that because of the violent trip and tumble that landed me right on that mortifying rigid floor. Perfectly through the doorway. Perks of having been running like a scared bitch in a straight line, I landed exactly where I was heading. If the door had been closed I would've remembered hitting my head, probably hard enough to crack my fucking skull. I was so shitless scared that my feet forgot how to do their jobs, so my whole body decided it would lead by example and remind them how to hit the floor.

Everything was a rushed blur in my eyesight as I scrambled to roll over and sit up on my spineless ass. I was certain of only a single thing once my eyeballs had settled enough for me to see a single still image of my surroundings. Right before me, right under my very own feet, Seventh Heaven had become Hell. Something Other.

Shortly thereafter, the clunking, screeching iron(?) door, which was more characteristic of a meat locker, or a centuries old sanatorium (what's the fucking difference really) slammed shut, and once again my vision was vigorously stolen. This time I begged and pleaded in my thoughts for it to stay gone.
