my days off coinciding with the release of simulated universe swarm disaster means i uhhhh haven't done anything but do tons of runs testing out the paths and seeing how far i can push myself

And God I'm just gonna talk for a second about some thoughts I'd had about an AU where everything is fine and Palpatine is defeated before anything really bad can happen. Doesn't mean the fighting us over, actually surprisingly they're lightly touching on this subject in tbb season 2 but the subject of clones rights and what's to become of them after the war has always fascinated me!

Imagine in this AU when the war ends my s/i quits the Jedi order to be with Rex and becomes something of a clones rights advocate! Because they were already somewhat distrusted (ok a lot) by the general public who've had their lives upturned by the war. I imagine it'd only increase once news of the inhibitor chips got out 😥 so there's heated debate on whether they deserve the same rights as every other being, but Brea would be an active speaker about it and probably appear in the senate with Padmé's help and talk about all of their noble qualities and all of the good they did and all they sacrificed for the republic.

She'd come forward about her relationship with Rex too, how their love is more real than anything that could ever be made in a lab, and they should be able to get married and have the same rights as others 🥺 but anyway, I imagine that clones still DO have their fair share of supporters! And I imagined Rex coming to a meeting with Brea and a crowd standing outside the senate building, and when they see him all goes silent for a heart stopping moment, he slips his hand into hers and she squeezes. Then they start to cheer for him!

Everyone knows of the brave Captain Rex and his victories alongside Anakin Skywalker (don't even get me STARTED on Ani in this AU 😭😭) and I just thought it'd be cool if he knew that he didn't go unnoticed!! That he always has my love, the love of his friends and his brothers, and that there are still some who think of him as a hero.

Ive said this before but swear the biggest skill to learn as an adult is how to resist high-pressure sales tactics. You do NOT have to answer questions with anything other than "Sorry I'm not interested." No matter how nice they are or no matter how many follow up questions they ask or even how agitated they get when you stand your ground. Just keep saying I'm not interested. Don't answer their questions. Don't give them an opening to try to push back on your reasons. Be a fucking brick wall of I'm not interested.

so i haven't read the books but i did read the Devil's Minion chapter and this part made me laugh out loud:

I think so many people are so deeply alienated from themselves that they have no clue how to exercise their free will and autonomy. For some, this alienation runs so deep that they are afraid of their own autonomy and humanity. It is completely understandable why one would have those feelings, but it can be worrisome.

I want to help others who feel this way, so here are small things I have done to exercise my free will:

Add "guilty pleasure" songs to playlists and actually listen to them (I have a ton of late 1990s-early 2000s music I listen to now proudly that I never listened to in the past out of shame)

Getting the décor item, bath set, bed spread, ect. in the patterns you like, even if it's "childish" (I got a dinosaur-themed wastebasket from the kids' décor section and I adore it)

Taking a new route to get to a place you go to often

Eat dessert first

Celebrate well, and often

Collect things that are "odd" or don't seem like an "acceptable" thing to collect (somebody on my "for you" page collects dandelion crayola crayons and it was so cool!!!!!!)

Incorporate one new piece in an outfit you wear frequently (e.g., a new chain, a necklace, ribbons, bracelets, ect.). Challenge yourself to add onto the outfits if you feel up for it.

Sing along to songs without worrying that you sound "good" or your intonation is completely accurate

Read a book from a genre you weren't allowed to read as a kid (comics, thrillers, mysteries, anything!)

Walk without having a specific destination or goal

Pick up a new craft without expecting yourself to master it or to ever be "good" enough. Get your hands messy.

I don't want to shame anybody for not feeling as though they have free will or that they are exempt from exercising it. However, I wanted to give ideas so that you might read this list and find your own ways to express your intrinsic autonomy and will. You deserve to be a person, to feel alive, not just living. That is what our lives are for.
