Often DJ’s and artist put up a front on social media. They filter through tons of content and only post what they believe is to be the very best representation of themselves. Now that doesn’t sound bad right? I mean in some cases that approach is probably best but I personally feel that it can detach you from your audience by making you unrelatable. 

As creatives, we have to understand that not everyone walks to the beat of our drum. in other words, life is not always studio sessions, parties, and shows. it’s also about the creative struggle, life lessons, and personal growth.

With that said, I have decided to create this blog to share a more personal side of my life and really give folks an insight on what it is to be a full-time DJ and creative. I welcome you all to subscribe, follow, like or whatever it is that you have to do and join me on my journey through life as a self-made DJ.

Back to school preparation…let’s keep this conversation going. Today’s topic getting back into a routine. Sleep: EVERYONE needs more sleep, especially our children. During sleep is when our bodies regenerate. Good, deep sleep will improve concentration, productivity, physical performance, metabolism, mood, immune function and one’s mental/emotional state. Good, long sleep is one of the pillars of great health. Schedule: the summer is full of lax schedules. It’s time to get back into a rhythm and prepare for a busy scholastic year ahead. Start today! Set your alarm clocks for a time where you can prepare the family for early morning, breakfast, making lunches and heading out the door earlier than you have been all summer. Trial run! Limit screen time: a sedentary lifestyle can lead to many health concerns both mental/emotional as well as physical. Let’s get back to basics and increase family time and have some good ‘ol FUN! Screen time has a place in our lives but it doesn’t have to be a priority. Being bored can be a good thing; it inspires creativity.
