there's a certain group of men who has this pseudo-confidence thinking that if they show how self-reassured they are in themselves and that if they indirectly let a woman know that they can easily replace her with another woman then she will be afraid to ask for money from him. it really be the delusion some men possess that they think women only ask for security from men they don't like or are not attracted to, so they appear as if they are the Prize in every relationship they enter to protect their imaginery money and for women to supposedly think twice about asking them any because they will be afraid of scaring him off.

no man should ever be good enough for you not to ask for money, food, transportation etc. no man is out of your league for you to feel like you should be shy or embarrassed to ask for things from him. He can literally be the whole superman himself and should still not negotiate what you expect from him . as long he wanna exist in your space that nobody invited him to, he is going to have to adhere to the rules and regulations. he can either take it or catch the next flight to hell.

the problem is that we are in coexistence with men who feel like they are the catch (Simon Biles's husband) and spending on women they like it will reveal some sort of weakness in them that they created in their minds about women taking advantage of their flat empty wallets. it really be the ones with no Gold being afraid of Gold diggers because if you look very closely these men have nothing to their names and worked their whole lives with nothing to show for at the end.

these men exist in the same delusional bubble with women who think that if they meet a man half way or pay 50/50 in a relationship then they will be saved from adhering to the sexual entitlement of the patriarchal men, they think if they can pay their own bills then men will not seduce them as they believe men demand sex from women they pay everything for. they think they are different from other women and men will respect them more as they see can see she doesn't need a man. but they are wrong.

men will still want sex regardless of the relationship set up and women will still demand financial security from men regardless of how many options a man have under his belt. heterosexual norms have us all under its merciless clutches and patriarchy is ruthless and it comes for us. learn or perish.

I have talked about the great Jerry Goldsmith many times but here’s something I didn’t discuss yet: he was able to mix the synthesiser with the “old-fashioned” orchestra in such a way that you can’t distinguish the two.

He did that very successfully in this score, “Sleeping with the Enemy”, and in the Sharon Stone movie “Basic Instinct”, that other thriller from the early nineties.

I’m betting that most people who listen to the music simply don’t notice the role of the synthesisers. That’s because he succeeded in creating a warm electronic sound.

Quite a feat when you consider how cold electronic music can be. (The booklet speaks of “adroit electronics”.)

Sleeping with the Enemy has like a perfect ending, everything up until the ending is just there so you'll appreciate the ending properly.

She's on the phone and he's telling her it's pointless to call the police and you, the audience, are yelling at her that it's pointless to call the police and you can see in her eyes she knows it's pointless to call the police but she calls the police and you're like daaamn whyyyy is she doing that? Then she says what she says and it's just so so so good.
