Been filling out a canvas with some OC doodles over the past few weeks, so here they are

3 - Favourite moment? That exact scene when Erin remembers who she is at the climax of the Diamond Route and activates her Demoness Form for the first time. It was awesome when I first saw it on my blind v13 playthrough, and it still is just as awesome when I saw it again during my v13.5 replays.

Hauyne:

She detests spicy foods and refuses to even touch one, but loves her sweets. Her favourite sweet is chocolate.

Her favourite drink is jasmine tea.

For some reason, alcoholic drinks have no effect on her whatsoever, so to her they're just fermented drinks. Coffee, however, will get her intoxicated the same way most alcohol would to a normal human being.

Her starter is a Rockruff, which evolved into a Dusk Lycanroc back when she was still a student in Phoenix Academy. It didn't survive Storm-9, unfortunately.

The only two Pokemon she has that made it out of Storm-9 are her Zeraora and Aegislash. Both of them were taken in by Crescent, but they both went back to their original trainer after she was revived.

While she doesn't specialise in any type in particular, most of her Pokemon are dragon types.

Her Delphox, Altissia, was originally a normal Delphox. They first met as a Fennekin in Gearen Labs, but she was permanently altered into the Augmented (aka Delpha) form after Hauyne dreamt about battling and capturing Delpha in the Nightmare Realm.

She and Crescent were qpr partners before Storm-9 happened. Keyword: were. That relationship kind of got strained during the events of rejuv, but they've reconciled and are starting on a clean slate in .karma files.

Being an aura wielder, she naturally can understand Pokemon and even speak their language.

Adding to the above point, she has an insatiable appetite due to being an aura wielder. She can and will devour an entire buffet's worth of food in a blink, but as a Black Box this appetite has been curbed and she only eats for pleasure or for self-care.

She'd rather die than admit this, but she secretly loves being held. Would absolutely melt in a cuddle pile, or when given any form of physical affection as long as it's someone she knows and trusts.

Oh, and she purrs. Purrs.

Has a fierce competitive streak. Once you triggered that, she's not going to stop until she finally defeats you.

Her eyes glow in the dark. And it's because of this she has near-perfect night vision.

Is partially blind on her left scarred eye. She mostly relies on her aura sensing abilities to correct her depth perception, but will struggle to read anything from afar unless it's brought to mere inches away from her face.

Electra:

Her starter is a Empoleon, but her ace is a Metagross.

In her past life, Electra isn't actually very fond of battling. In fact, she wasn't even a trainer, and had never desired to be one. Her having amnesia changed her stance, however.

She is very fond of dry flavoured foods, and hates bitter foods.

Her favourite drink is iced coffee.

Her original eye colour is a deep indigo, almost seeming like purple. After she got Genesis Syndrome, her eyes turned golden, and it stayed that way for the rest of her life.

Being a failed Dialga vessel, she can use metal-based magicks and even use Steel-type moves. And to some extent, she can manipulate time, but it's too inconsistent and took too much energy to even be reliable. Absorbing the Diamond Core changed that fact, however.

She once had a crush on Aelita... until she crossed the Despair Event Horizon.

She's severely acrophobic, due to a near-death experience where she almost fell into a fault line caused by an earthquake during the war in the Old World.

Very skilled with machines, so she hit it off with Saki really well because of their shared fondness for tinkering.

25 - Most frustrating/hardest battle you've ever faced? The Admin battle. Especially the Admin battle. I get its supposed to be a scripted loss and therefore bullshit, but it does not stop me from getting pissed off at it. Fuck Admin. All my homies hate Admin.

32 - What are you looking forward to in next versions? Lore reveals! And finding out what happens in the Xen Raid, for both the Paragon and Renegade routes. And hopefully we get more sidequests like the Xenogene Movie, I'd love for the main gang to just chill and relax and have a bonding moment with each other. Like, let them be normal teenagers for once, you know?

Solaris grew up in Flora, and was bullied constantly for his appearance, for being the son of a famous rescue worker named Flare. After his mother killed herself, the bullying intensified, and pushed Solaris to slit his wrists in an attempt to take his own life. After recovering from the attempt, Zane appeared in the 3rd Gaea, and the two started Team Destiny.

Solaris is the new Creation God, taking over Zappa's (Arceus') position after they received their power. In defeating LaPlante, Solaris recreated the universe, though it took many attempts. The world they made was in their own vision - a world that was peaceful, free of strife and major conflict. When the Charizard isn't working at the Caravan, they are flying about the world to help those that are in need of help.

NAME: Florence (VA: Jeanne Tirado - Android 21 (Lab Coat)) TITLE: “Princess of Dark Shadows” AGE: 2083 (appears age 59) HEIGHT: 3'5" SPECIES: Umbreon BIRTHDAY: 08/28 GENDER: Female SEXUALITY: Bi FIGHT STYLE: Choy Li Fut WEAPON: None ABILITY: Inner Focus STATUS: Living

Florence joined Team Destiny at a young age, after running away from her abusive father. Generally anxious due to her past, she found safety with Zane and Solaris. Her happiness would fade when she was killed by Abominae, her trained shadow beast. After she was revived, her normally sassy attitude had all but disappeared.

Florence has gained a renewed sense of purpose since returning home. With her father now completely eradicated, along with the third Gaea, the Umbreon has had a huge weight lifted off of her shoulders. She doesn't need to keep looking behind her back. She is less anxious. The slate has been wiped clean for her, and she can relax and enjoy life. In addition to helping Team Singularity with keeping the world safe, Florence continues to teach at a prestigious university, and is even on her way to receiving a doctorate degree in Mythology.

NAME: Beck (VA: Kyle Hebert - Adult Gohan) TITLE: "The All-Round Ice Gator" AGE: 2085 (appears age 61) HEIGHT: 5'6'' SPECIES: Feraligatr (Shiny), Human (Former) BIRTHDAY: 07/08 GENDER: Male SEXUALITY: Asexual Homo-Romantic FIGHT STYLE: Bajiquan WEAPON: Ice weapons ABILITY: Sheer Force STATUS: Living

A former human of the 1st Gaea, and currently married to Misha. He arrived in the 3rd Gaea after Zappa saved his soul from near death. He is Zane's best friend, and always kept Zane grounded when they needed it. Beck was gravely injured, which took him out of rescue work for several years.

Beck was not around during the LaPlante crisis, and still remembers the moment the world came to an end, and seeing the beauty of the world destroyed. When he was revived by Solaris, the Feraligatr decided to make the most of his second chance at life. After marrying Misha, Beck decided to return to school, and has earned a degree in architecture, a topic that he was very interested in back when he was human. Beck works part time at Misha's coffee shop, the Aurora Veil Cafe, and full time as an architect for a construction company, as well as helping when he can for Team Singularity.

NAME: Morello (VA: Troy Baker - Kanji Tatsumi) TITLE: “Predecessor of Powerful Lightning” AGE: 2089 (appears age 65) HEIGHT: 6'2" SPECIES: Lycanroc (Dusk) BIRTHDAY: 05/30 GENDER: Male SEXUALITY: Gay FIGHT STYLE: Capoeira WEAPON: None (uses Zane’s Thunderseal to control lightning) ABILITY: Tough Claws STATUS: Living

Morello originates from the Grass Continent, having survived a tragic accident that ended in him having to chew through his leg to escape. He traveled to Flora afterwards, where he traveled with Knopps, another Lycanroc that bullied Morello due to his sexual preference. After escaping the nomadic pack he traveled with, he ended up at Team Destiny's doorstep, where he joined the team.

Morello lives a simple life in the 4th Gaea. In addition to helping Team Singularity, he runs a trinket and plushie shop, Dusk Trinkets and Wares. In the time between the creation of Solaris' ideal world and present day, Morello honed his crafting, and can sell items he himself forged, from toys to basic utensils and plates. He has gained popularity with many hospitals and children, as he regularly donates toys to sick children and kids in need. When around others, he is silly and goofy, and he will not be afraid to show that side of himself.

NAME: Misha (VA: Justin Cook - Eijiro Kiroshima) TITLE: "Bitter Cold Aurora Ray" AGE: 2086 (appears age 62) HEIGHT: 6' SPECIES: Ninetales (Alolan) BIRTHDAY: 10/31 GENDER: Male SEXUALITY: Gay FIGHT STYLE: Hung Gar WEAPON: None ABILITY: Snow Cloak STATUS: Living

Misha grew up in Flora, and was always the center of attention for being inversely colored to how Alolan Vulpix usually are. The attention would always overwhelm him, with many attempting to use him. After a nasty breakup, Misha was left for dead in the woods, at least until Team Destiny rescued him and took him in. He is the owner of a combination coffee shop and library, called the Aurora Veil Cafe.

Much like Beck, Misha is making the most of his second chance at life. He rebuilt the Aurora Veil Cafe with Beck's help, and has graduated from school. He is following in Isaak's footsteps, and teaches magic and gives regular talks and seminars about history. His main focus will always be on his coffee shop, which he runs daily. He has added new treats, like muffins and donuts, as well as new flavors and styles of coffee. He is usually quiet, and keeps to himself, but if he sees a Pokemon in need of warmth, he will provide it.

NAME: Remi (VA: Erika Harlacher - Ann Takamaki) TITLE: “Benevolent Blood Sucking Vampire” AGE: 2082 (appears age 58) HEIGHT: 4’ SPECIES: Floatzel BIRTHDAY: 04/25 GENDER: Female SEXUALITY: Lesbian FIGHT STYLE: Tai Chi WEAPON: None ABILITY: Swift Swim STATUS: Living

Remi grew up in the care of Team Destiny, after her egg was left on their doorstep by her parents. She lived very happily with the team, and is always friendly to anyone she meets. She has three pairs of scars on each side of her ribs, due to an attack she received from Knopps, Morello's old pack leader.

Remi has taken her interest in medicine very seriously, especially after Avett's unfortunate death. She has had plenty of time on her hands to harness her craft, and is currently the lead developer of the world's medicines. She gained worldwide fame after a serious disease began spreading, and she was the first to produce a vaccine. In addition to her time creating medicines and helping sick Pokemon, Remi also helps Team Singularity, both in keeping the world safe and in providing some on-the-spot healing during missions. Although she is very smart, considered one of the smartest in the new Gaea, she is very gullible and naive, and often falls for simple tricks that others would never fall for.

NAME: Noel (VA: Elizabeth Maxwell - Sae Niijima) TITLE: “All-Seeing Aura Samurai” AGE: 2079 (appears age 55) HEIGHT: 5’ SPECIES: Hybrid (Lucario/Zoroark) BIRTHDAY: 05/04 GENDER: Female SEXUALITY: Bi FIGHT STYLE: Iaijutsu WEAPON: Chuten (Aura-strengthening katana) ABILITY: Steadfast STATUS: Living

Born to Aura and Vance, Noel shares the two Lucario's strengths and weaknesses. She has the mental fortitude and bushido upbringing of Vance, but she is blind, and can only see via her aura sight. She wears a bandana across her eyes, to hide the large scar she received from Deoxys when the Clairvoyant Disease spread to the old Pokemon Gods.

Noel's sole purpose in the new Gaea is to help Team Singularity. Now being fused with Aurelio, her Zoroark genes gave her not just the large mane the species is known for, but also their stealth. She effortlessly cuts through any enemies. Thanks to the branch from the old Tree of Life still wrapped around her katana, she can call on her father Vance as a shadow double, and can effectively see colors and all surroundings with her aura sight despite being blind. She is very serious around those she does not know, but under the hard exterior is a gentle soul that only seeks to protect, and to cut free those that are restrained by life's struggles.

NAME: Adiemus/Audie (VA: Xander Mobus - Ren Amamiya/P5 Protagonist) TITLE: “The Empath that Feels your Dream” AGE: 2078 (appears age 54) HEIGHT: 6'1" SPECIES: Espeon BIRTHDAY: 05/30 GENDER: Male SEXUALITY: Gay FIGHT STYLE: Wing Chun WEAPON: None ABILITY: Magic Bounce STATUS: Living

Born to Joseph and Florence, Audie is a gentle but broken soul who only wants to keep his family safe, having had to kill his mother after she was possessed by Abominae. He is very emotionally charged, and can be seen as short tempered and fragile because of it.

Audie has taken after his uncle Bellum, and is currently honing his blacksmithing skills. Audie creates weapons and armor, both practical and prop, as well as glass items like vases and art. He is married to Kiske, and the two continue to raise their daughter Kita. Being the child of Joseph, Audie has incredible physical and magical strength. He is able to use Psychic and Lightning magics, and is known to be able to lift several tons at once.

NAME: Phoebe (VA: Kate Higgins - Sakura Haruno) TITLE: “Wild Steadfast Storm” AGE: 2075 (appears 51 due to Gear Cells) SPECIES: Lycanroc (Midday Forme) HEIGHT: 5'11" GENDER: Female BIRTHDAY: 05/12 SEXUALITY: Lesbian FIGHT STYLE: Silat WEAPON: Bo Staff ABILITY: Lightning Rod STATUS: Living

The daughter of Zane and Morello, shown by her having a Marowak’s skull mask attached to her head.  Due to her half Gear nature, she aged rapidly, and was fully grown at age 3.  Zane’s lightning abilities passed down to her, and she has honed them into her own unique style that isn’t a copy of her late father’s.  She is a very powerful lightning user, with Zane on record stating that hers was even more powerful than their own. She has Zane's serious nature, as well as Morello's goofy nature.

Phoebe spends most of her time assisting Team Singularity, but helps to run a restaurant along with Cadenza, called the Crescendo, which serves a combination of Florian delicacies as well as dishes from Cadenza's home. The restaurant has proven popular, with several locations around the world.

NAME: Cadenza (VA: Anna Graves - Naoto Shirogane) TITLE: “The Goddess of Thunder” AGE: 2083 (appears age 59) SPECIES: Zeraora HEIGHT: 6’ GENDER: Female BIRTHDAY: 01/31 SEXUALITY: Bi FIGHT STYLE: Jeet Kun Do WEAPON: None ABILITY: Volt Absorb STATUS: Living

Coming from a futuristic dimension, Cadenza was unwillingly thrown into Flora by a high-ranking official from her world. After being saved by Xan and Urie from the Tree of Souls, she learned that her parents died at the hands of the same person that caused her situation.  Zane would father her, being her guardian for 16 years before the Marowak’s death.

Now married to Phoebe, the two run the Crescendo, their restaurant business. Cadenza also helps out Team Singularity, although not as regularly as Phoebe, as she wants to focus more on the restaurant. Cadenza has used the extra time to learn how to cook, taking inspiration from Urie, and can cook nearly anything. She refuses to touch seafood, due to not particularly liking it, and because she is afraid of not preparing seafood correctly.

NAME: Kiske (VA:Lucien Dodge - Sin Kiske) TITLE: “The Hair-Raising Hellraiser” AGE: 2080 (appears age 56) SPECIES: Hybrid (Cinderace/Greninja) HEIGHT: 5’ GENDER: Non-Binary SEXUALITY: Gay BIRTHDAY: 01/24 FIGHT STYLE: Tae Kwon Do WEAPON: None ABILITY: Libero STATUS: Living

The older of two children born from a Greninja and Cinderace.  Their parents died in Lotus Tower when they were young, and them and their brother were taken in by Ben, who trained them. He is very steadfast, and always sees a job through to the end. He is able to create kunai made of both water and fire thanks to his heritage.

Having merged with his brother Nobuo, Kiske is more distant and less extroverted than he once was. He assists Team Singularity, but chooses more often to spend time with Kita, their daughter.

NAME: Ann (VA: Erin Fitzgerald - Chie Satonaka) TITLE: "Kind-Hearted Dream Chaser" AGE: 2059 (appears age 35) SPECIES: Hybrid (Charizard/Typhlosion (Hisuian) HEIGHT: 5'7" GENDER: Female SEXUALITY: Bi BIRTHDAY: 02/04 FIGHT STYLE: Hellfire WEAPON: None ABILITY: Flash Fire STATUS: Living

Ann is born to Karie and Solaris, and has inherited genes from both of her fathers. She is a Charizard with blue flames, and dark blue fur along her back. She also inherited the flame vents along her neck from Karie.

Ann is kind and gentle, much like Solaris and Karie, and wants to follow her dreams and keep people safe from harm. She has also inherited the strength from her fathers, and uses it to help Team Singularity keep Flora and all of Infinity safe from harm.

Louis is the reincarnation of Zane, as he has a piece of Zane within his soul. He has a mastery over ice and lightning, having learned some of Zane's techniques over the years. He has white fur all over, and looks similar to an Alolan Vulpix. Louis has many of the same mannerisms and sense of justice that Zane had, and he carries it with pride. He can be boneheaded like Zane, but he doesn't stop until his job is complete.

NAME: Kitajoh/Kita AGE: 4 SPECIES: Hybrid (Eevee/Scorbunny) GENDER: Female BIRTHDAY: 12/10 ABILITY: Libero

Kita is the daughter of Kiske and Audie. While Solaris had the chance to age Kita up, they would rather she stay young so her parents can see her grow up. She is an Eevee through and through, but with white fur and red striping similar to a Scorbunny. She already is beginning to learn how to control her fire, though it may take her a while due to her rather short attention span. If you were to meet Kita, be prepared for a raucous and energetic child that will talk your ear off if given the opportunity.

Character of the Week drawings from the Pokemon: Rising Shadows Discord server! Our server dictator made a massive RNG with a bunch of our OCs, and we have a new one each week. It’s good for breaking that creative block.

Im planning on revamping my one pokemon persona crossover au (yknow, the one that was basically ultra moon but persona characters) and make it more p3 but with pokemon instead.

What I’ve thought for it so far is I guess the Kirijo Group is basically the Aether Foundation, and rather than studying Shadows, they study Ultra Beasts. So they’re the ones who created Type: Full. The incident 10 years ago was, instead of an explosion of Shadows, probably the opening of a bunch of Ultra Wormholes that caused Ultra Beasts to wreak havoc and still caused the deaths of the Arisatos’ parents.

One Type: Full basically takes the role of Aigis during this part and attempts to protect the young Arisatos, but still during the course of this entire disaster it’s clear the Type: Full are unstable and ended up causing some harm, so they’re still slated to be bound and cryogenically frozen. What I’m thinking though is that the Type: Null that protected the Arisatos ends up escaping before it’s frozen and somehow ends up finding the Arisatos again, who basically adopt it as their weird robot dog friend that they name Silvally.

(See the Arisatos don’t recognize the Type: Null because 1) it has its big ol helmet on and 2) the Arisatos still ended up repressing that event so they don’t really remember it even happened. But they still feel subconsciously attached to this robot dog and decide to keep it with them)

Btw Aigis has not been replaced she’s still gonna be in the au. I miiiight make her a human, but I also like the idea of her being a Rotom possessing an android body, think that’d be neat. Koromaru’s a midday Lycanroc probably, and he’s probably still an albino one.

The final boss (so Nyx) will instead end up being Ultra Necrozma. I think Ryoji’s gonna end up being just some guy (lol) and he’ll just join SEES (or whatever they’re called here) as a normal member.

This sparked Ash’s attention, he got up and yawned before asking, “What’s up?”

Ash I’m trapped in Hyrule Castle. You’ve been asleep for 100 years and now Hyrule needs your help!

“....What?” Ash had been asleep for 100 years??

Ash didn’t remember being asleep for that long at all.

Something also didn’t make sense to him.

“If you’re trapped, how are you speaking to me?”

Magic, dummy.

Oh that makes sense.

I can also see what you’re doing, and right now you probably need clothing.

Ash looked down at himself and just realized that he wasn’t wearing a shirt.

You’re going to need a shirt. I agree that you’re ripped, but modesty is an important characteristic that all heroes have.

Ash scoffed while blushing. He remembered flirting with the prince (a lot) and also being flirted with (a lot). He shook off the statement and took a look around the room he was in. It could barely be called a room, it was rocky and dreary with no clear sign of windows but there was a large exit, blue tinted light glowing from outside. Ash spotted a chest in the corner which had a shirt, which he put on right away.

While he was checking the room, something important flashed in his mind.

“Where are my Pokémon?!”

Oh, they’re roaming around Hyrule. I’m sure they’ll sense your presence and find you.

Speaking of which, Goh continued. There’s an important device on the pedestal to your left.

Ash went over to check it out. It was a rectangular device that had a screen in the center that flashed on and opened what looked like a camera.

It’s called a Sheikah Slate. It has many abilities, which you’ll learn about later. For now, the only skill it has is being able to identify Pokémon and plant species.

Ash, having found everything in the room, walked towards the exit and climbed a short wall. As soon as he put one foot outside the cave, something hard but alive tackled him.

“Lyc lycanroc!” The creature Ash recognized as the same lycanroc Ash had befriended 100 years ago.

“Lycanroc, is that really you?!” He hugged the dog and then noticed a small yellow mouse charging towards them.

“Pikachu?!” Ash couldn’t believe that his old friends had found him so quickly.

Upon Our Sea -- Pokeshipping -- Chapter 4

Time for chapter four! :)

   “The number you are trying to reach is currently unavailable. Either the number was dialed incorrectly, or their device is out of range. Please try again at another time,” The robotic of the video phone crackled through the speakers.

   “I’d like to leave a message,” Misty said, unsurprised, but disheartened. She had heard the ‘unavailable’ message so many times when trying to reach Ash that she practically had it down by heart now.

   “User will not receive message until they are back in range.”

   “Understood,” Misty said, and the video phone began to pull up Ash’s voice mail.

  “Hey there, you’ve reached Ash Ketchum!” She closed her eyes as his voice echoed through the gym. “I’m either a bit busy at the moment, or Pikachu drained the juice in my Pokegear!”

  “Pika!” Pikachu chimed in.

   “Anyways, leave a message and I’ll call you right back!” Misty bit her lip as she heard this part– knowing that this wasn’t true.

   “Beep!”

   Misty took in a deep breath. “Hey Ash, it’s me… again…” Misty trailed off for a moment. “Um, before you skip over this message, because I know you must have a ton of mine by now, I kind of need to tell you something.”

   No, she didn’t leave him millions of messages every night or anything– she wasn’t that type of person– but with him being gone for nearly a year and a half… calls just started to add up.

   “I just wanted to let you know… if you get this message in the next week or so– which I doubt–” She cursed in her mind as she said this, but just continued on. “Me and Brock are going to be having a little… get-together at my gym. Um, as you might know, it’s been… well… ten years since we started our first journey together, and I wanted to do something with the three of us.”

   She paused for a moment, debating what so say next. Just end it there? Make him feel bad? Tell him off for never contacting them?

   “I caught a new Pokemon,” Misty finally said, deciding that this would interest Ash the most. “She’s a bit timid, and it’s taking her a while to warm up to everyone, heh… no pun intended. She’s a fire type, you see,” She paused just imagining Ash’s surprise. “Hey! It’s not like I caught a bug type you know! This Pokemon… she was abandoned by her trainer, you see, and if you ever get the time… I could use any advice you have.”

   Again she paused, this was stretching out into a pretty long message.

   “Well, that’s all, I guess. Like always I really hope that you’ll call me and Brock once you get this and…” She closed her eyes. “I just miss you Ash…”

   She flinched as she said this, and quickly pressed ‘end message’ on the video phone.

   It would have been pretty embarrassing to have offered his help, only to not be able to do anything for the Professor and the beautiful young lady.

   That’s why Brock was relieved that he recognized right away what was wrong with the Rockruff pups.

   He smiled as he ran a hand down one of puppy’s back, which gnawed on him with a toothless bite. The mother mid-day Lycanroc was watching him closely, the Pokemon looking both gentle and fierce as he handled her young. The same intimidation as an Arcanine, but with the grace of a Ninetales.

   Alolan Pokemon were pretty neat.

   “Well?” Lillie asked Brock as he stood up, one of the Rockruff pups in his hands.

   Brock smiled. “Can you tell me what you’ve been feeding the mother?”

   Professor Kukui frowned slightly. “Nutrition is not the issue here– Lillie knows exactly what she’s doing when feeding the Pokemon. Triple checks everything every meal.”

   Lillie hesitated, but quickly began to rattle off a list of ingredients and preparing techniques she used for the Lycanroc’s food. Brock recognized a majority of what she listed off, but nodded politely as the young woman spoke, not wanting to interrupt. Her Alolan Ninetales, Shiron, was laying at her feet, happily staring at Brock’s glaring Vulpix in front of her.

   “The issue is actually quite simple,” Brock said once she finished, holding out the Rockruff pup towards the professor and his assistant. They pressed closer, watching as Brock showed them the ruff of fur around the Rockruff’s neck. “There’s normally suppose to be pebbles growing from here, isn’t there?”

   “…Yes, but they are young,” Professor Kukui said slowly.

   “I believe that these pups are at the age when they should start growing in,” Brock explained. “Many rock types build up any rocky formation soon after hatching. Most rock type Pokemon would simply ingest rocks on their own to do so– but the Rockruff line is mammalian.”

   Lillie’s eyes widened with realization. “Everything they eat comes from their mother’s milk.”

   Brock nodded. “I’ve seen the same problem with young Rhyhorn back in Kanto– there are just so few mammalian rock types that most people don’t realize they should be providing rocky minerals to the mother while they nurse. Any stone part on your Lycanroc should already be developed, but she needs to be providing it to her young now. Has she tried to leave the lab at all?”

   Professor Kukui looked at his Lycanroc, who was nudging her puppies with her nose. “Sometimes she’ll go out on the beach, but she’ll never go far.”

   “I wouldn’t be surprised if she was eating the sand,” Brock said. “Which wouldn’t be enough for the puppies though, but at the same time she doesn’t want to leave her young. So instead they’re lacking the rocks and minerals they need in her milk, which would explain why the puppies look ill,” He nodded to the tuffs of missing fur and the thinner Rockruffs. “Their body is trying to pull out any nutrition they can to build up the pebbles in their mane. I’d recommend introducing the minerals into her diet slowly, probably start off with a powdered limestone, and in a few weeks start adding slate or something similar.”

   “Will there be any long term effects?” Professor Kukui asked as Brock turned back to the Lycanroc, gently setting the pup he was holding near the mother. She took the young Pokemon in her mouth, placing him among the rest of her litter.

   “Nope,” Brock said, holding a closed fist out towards the mother. She sniffed him, and then Brock stroked her behind the ear. “Rock types are very effective at recovering, you’ve been taking care of them very well, so they will be fine.”

   “Thank you very much, Brock,” Professor Kukui said as he stood up, offering a hand. Brock took it, finding that the professor had a very strong grip. “I don’t know what I would have done otherwise.”

   Brock smiled. “It was my pleasure.”

   “I can’t believe I didn’t encounter anything about this while reading…” Lillie muttered, looking out at the Rockruffs guiltily. “I should have read more about rock types, not just about raising a mother Pokemon…. Maybe something on canine-like Pokemon too… We probably could have done something sooner if I’d just–”

   “Don’t think like that,” Brock said hastily, hating the sorrowful look on her face. “This wasn’t anyone’s fault– besides, no real harm was done.”

   Lillie offered a small smile. “It still happened though. But thank you Brock, I’m really glad I ran into you,” She scratched the back of her head, letting out a small laugh. Brock couldn’t help but smile at the sound– by Arceus’ plates she sounded beautiful as well! “You sure know a lot about rock types!”

   “Family trade,” Brock said with a wave of his hand, but he beamed at the praise. He could have sworn that he felt Toxicroak’s Pokeball twitch– but the poison type didn’t appear.

   Professor Kukui frowned. “Don’t you remember Brock, Lillie? He’s the–”

   “Vul!” Vulpix shouted unhappily– running across the lab towards Brock. Lycanroc’s ears went up in alarm, watching as the fire type bolted near her pups. Brock tensed, quickly standing between his Pokemon and the litter hoping that Vulpix would stop. He didn’t however– leaping up into Brock’s outstretched hands. A blur of white was racing after him, Shiron happily chasing her Kantonian counterpart.

   “Gah!” Brock groaned as Shiron pounced on him– all three of them landing on the floor of the lab near the Lycanroc. She was watching them unhappily, while Vulpix was trying to bury himself in Brock’s arms.

   “Tales!” The Ninetales declared happily as she stood on Brock, grabbing Vulpix by the scruff. The fire type struggled as he was lifted into the air, and Shiron trotted away with him in her mouth. Vulpix made mewing noises as he called out for Brock– or in his eyes, his mom– but Shiron simply sat down and began grooming him.

   “I don’t think you’re helping yourself calling out like that,” Brock muttered as he sat up, rubbing his head. He shot an apologetic glance at the glaring Lycanroc, and backed away from her litter.

   “He’s just making Shiron more motherly with that cry,” Professor Kukui agreed with a laugh as Brock rose to his feet.

   “I’m so sorry!” Lillie cried. “I can call Shiron back to her Pokeball–”

   Brock chuckled. “Nah, this is good for Vulpix. He needs to interact with other Pokemon.”

   Lillie hesitated, glancing at her Ninetales as she ran her tongue across Vulpix’s back. Vulpix was struggling, but Shiron’s larger paws kept him in place. Brock was still surprised that an Ember hadn’t been sent flying at the ice type, and he was honestly curious how long Vulpix would keep it up. Even though he was struggling against Shiron, he was actually being relatively docile for what Brock would expect. Usually if someone else took Vulpix he acted as if it were the end of the world, thrashing and screeching.

   Yes, this was a good thing.

   Lillie hesitated, then glanced at Professor Kukui. “Um… Professor, what were you saying earlier, about Brock?”

   “Hmm?” Professor Kukui paused. “Oh yes! I was just wondering if you had used Amnesia on yourself or something– don’t you remember Brock?”

   “Remember?” Both of them asked at the same time.

   Professor Kukui cracked a grin. “I mean, it has been quite a few years, but neither of you remember? Come on Lillie– back at the Pokemon school, when we had that trip to Kanto…?”

   Lillie frowned, then her eyes widened. She spun around to face Brock, those beautiful green eyes shining with recognition.

   “You’re the rock type gym leader from Kanto!” She cried.

   “…Former gym leader,” Brock corrected, scratching his head.

   He looked over her once more– he did recall what Professor Kukui was referring too, when Ash and his class had come out to the Misty’s gym. That had been the first time he’d seen Ash in ages at that time, and Brock’s first time seeing Alolan Pokemon. Like the electric type Geodude, and the Alolan Vulpix…

   Brock’s eyes widened. “Shiron! She’s the Vulpix that got motion sickness! You were one of the girls in Ash’s class back then!”

   Professor Kukui laughed. “I know it’s been awhile– but I’m still surprised you guys took this long to realize that.”

   Brock just stared at Lillie– so he had been right, she was Ash’s age. He was racking his brain, trying to recall just as much as he could about that trip. Was this beautiful young woman really the same girl he had met back then? The one that had fought against his Geodude at the gym? Yes, she looked very similar, but…

   She carried herself completely differently.

   The Lillie in his memories had been timid, lingering on the edges of the group and away from the Pokemon. She clearly had grown, holding herself high as they had talked, even if she had been extremely apologetic and uncertain. Brock blinked, a half smile flickering onto his face.

   “So you’re a friend of Ash’s too then,” Brock said– at least he was hoping they were still friends after all these years.

   She bobbed her head. “Oh yes, Ash is a very good friend of mine– he’s helped me through so much! His Lycanroc is actually the father of these Rockruffs,” She was still staring at Brock with surprise. “And you were one of Ash’s first traveling companions?”

   “I was also one of the first gym leaders he faced,” Brock said, remembering all too well the ten-year old that had tried to fight his ground-type Onyx with a Pikachu. “We’ve been friends for quite a long time now…” He hesitated. “Ash is actually the reason I came out to Alola.”

   “Oh?” Kukui seemed slightly surprised at this. “He invited you?”

   Brock hesitated. “No… I actually came looking for him. You see, it’s been a long time since me and another friend of mine– Misty, the other gym leader you know– have seen him. She kind of has this habit of celebrating things, and it’s kind of been ten years since we’ve all started traveling together and–” He paused, realizing that he was rambling. “Basically, I just need to speak to Ash, and I haven’t found a way to reach him. I was actually hoping that one of you might be able to tell me where in Alola he is…”

   Lillie sighed. “Blame Professor Kukui. I’m guessing you can’t reach Ash even by Pokegear?”

   Brock blinked. “Um, that’s right–”

   She crossed her arms, glaring at her boss. “I told you it’d be a bad idea to let him train there! That Tapu-forsaken island only gets signal in one location, and I bet you that Ash never bothers using it!”

   Professor Kukui scratched the back of his head. “He said he needed a private place to train, and the island seemed perfect…”

   “Um… what island?” Brock asked– as far as he knew all four islands of Alola had cell service.

   The professor sighed. “A few years back I purchased a small little nameless island. I figured I could use it for research, or maybe as a more natural rehabilitation center, maybe a little getaway place for me and Burnet… or something. It’s like an hour boat ride here to there, and I ended up never using it. And so Ash comes by a little while back, asking if I knew of any good places to train privately, so I lent him the island.”

   “You lent him… an island,” Brock repeated.

   Kukui gave an uncertain smile. “It’s a good thing you came here– you probably wouldn’t have found him otherwise– it’s not on any maps or anything.”

   Brock pressed his lips together, taking in this information. It just didn’t seem like an Ash thing– staying in one place to train. Ash was the kind of person that loved traveling and seeing new places. For him to ‘settle’, even for training, just felt off. But it did explain why his Pokegear never connected– and why Delia favored Swellow-carried letters for communication.

   “Can you tell me how to get there?” Brock asked.

   Kukui grinned. “Give me a few days to clean out my old boat, and I can have you there in a Flash.”

   “Or!” Lillie cried, quickly jumping in. “I can just call my brother! He could have us there by tomorrow, and his ship is much more reliable than your boat!”

   The professor frowned. “There’s nothing wrong with my boat.”

   Lillie shifted her gaze to Brock, swiftly shaking her head.

   “Um…” Brock gulped uncertainly. “I’m on limited time, so the quicker the better…?”

   The professor nodded. “In that case Lillie’s brother may be your best bet, if he’s willing to help. He could have you there by tomorrow.”

   “Of course he’d be willing to help!” Lillie chirped, digging through her bag. “He’d do anything for me if I asked– and besides– he’d be happy to help a friend get to Ash,” She pulled out a small device, quickly scrolling through it. “I’ll call him right now.”

   “Thank you,” Brock said to Lillie. She nodded, turning away as she called her brother. “Thank you as well, Professor.”

   Kukui grinned. “Anything to help out a cousin. Besides, you helped me out with the pups– so thank you,” He kneeled down, stroking his Lycanroc. “Let’s just hope you can handle Lillie’s brother though.”

   Brock waved a hand. “If he’s anything like his sister then I’m sure he’s a kind person.”

   Kukui chuckled. “Gladion like his sister? Heh, I think you’re going to be in for a little surprise there, cousin.”

Hard to say! Honestly I just rolled up to the stand because they were selling apple cider donuts and I am an absolute sucker for apple cider donuts.

Judging from Crispin, they’re good-sized and nice and solid -- about softball-sized. If I had to guess and didn’t have a Noivern crouched over them so I could test, I’d slate them as cider or baking apples. The bag has unfortunately been lost because a certain Lycanroc and Arcanine (looking at you, Cookie and Kaya) decided it would be fun to play tug-of-war with once Vier’kacha emptied the apples from it. It’s never boring around here. XD

Hooboy, introducing Crispin to Candyfloss the Whimsicott is going to be interesting... Vier’kacha likes Candyfloss (they’ve battled together a lot and formed a solid bond despite their Fairy and Dragon typing, they’re great at backing each other up in double battles), but a new dragon might be leery, as evidenced by your recent troubles at the sanctuary. Makes me kind of glad I didn’t bring Connor... a Ribombee would be even more worrisome for the little apple kid.

Vier'kacha update! We found a trainer in Hammerlocke who said he'd take a look at our case, so we took a train out that way. I decided to let Vier'kacha fly a bit around the Wild Area while I explored it with my other Pokemon, to let us get our bearings -- and lo and behold, another unexpected wrinkle. Vier'kacha had never seen Applin before. Now she has. Now she's brooding over a bushel of apples she insisted LOUDLY on buying from a farmer's stand. She's acting like they're eggs. Help. XD

Oh that’s good for you ,congratulations! Do you have found yourself in a bit of a pickle. I think one of the best things you could do is try and find somebody who has an Applin and show her how they differ from the ordinary apples, if that fails I suppose you’ll have to wait for them to… decompose as Applin don’t do that and she should get it at that point though it would be Hilarious if they all had a larval Applin making their home in apples
