Ihsahn was brought back to Audie's home in the west, and sent into the bathroom to shower. The Salazzle looked at everything in the shower, and it all felt so... Alien. These were things he didn't have at home, due to his parents' neglect. He took his time, and showered the grime off of his body.

Once he stepped out of the shower and dried off, he really got a look at himself in the mirror. His blue scales shined brighter than they had in years. It made him smile, seeing them look so clean. He quickly dried off, then stepped out of the bathroom, joining Audie, Kiske, and Kita in the living room.

"Kiske, Kita... This is Ihsahn. He'll be staying here with us." Audie said, gesturing to the Salazzle. Ihsahn would give the two a nervous wave.

"I... I hope I'm not intruding at all..."

Kiske would give Audie a look but smiled. "Not at all. We're happy to have you here."

Kita would then burst from Kiske's arms, and ran over to Ihsahn. She looked at his blue scales, and ooh'd at them. "Whoa... Your scales! How'd you get them like this?"

Ihsahn would recoil slightly in discomfort. "My... Scales...? I was... Born with them..."

"Whaaat? But Salazzle are supposed to have pink scales..." She said, pausing for a moment before bouncing back up. "They're really pretty!"

"O-Oh... Th-Thank you... Um..." Ihsahn paused for a moment. He wasn't used to praise like this, normally receiving insults. The Salazzle didn't quite know where to take the conversation, so squeaked out, "I'm sorry... I didn't catch your name, little one..."

"Oops, sorry! I'm Kita! It's good to meet you!" She stuck a paw out for Ihsahn to shake, which he nervously grabbed onto and raised stiffly up and down.

"It's... Good to meet you too..."

"Audie... A word, please..."

Kiske motioned for the Espeon to follow. Audie then turned to look at Ihsahn. "Will you be okay?"

The Salazzle nodded, and Audie stood up and followed Kiske outside. "What's up, hun?"

"It's Ihsahn... Our home isn't big enough to accommodate another mouth to feed..."

Audie rubbed the back of his head. "I... I know... But I didn't want to leave him. He was desperate. Had I thrown him in jail, his parents would have gotten to him and killed him."

Kiske closed their eyes, and sighed. "Do you really think that Solaris would accept Ihsahn? They may just push him back onto the street."

"Solaris wouldn't do that and you know it." Audie cut in. "And if they do, then they can eat my ass."

"Hey..." The Cinderace interjected, and gave the Espeon a knowing look. "You know that only I can do that."

Audie immediately blushed. "Not literally, silly. I just mean that Solaris can shove it if they tell me to push Ihsahn out."

Kiske chuckled. "I know, babe. You didn't have to mansplain it for me."

Audie chuckled. "R-Right..." He then looked back inside, and saw Ihsahn looking slightly uncomfortable. "Let's go back in. Poor Kita is talking Ihsahn's head off."

Kiske nodded. "Got it. But hey." They pulled Audie back in. "Ihsahn is your responsibility. At least until he proves he can help out the team."

Audie nodded back. "You have my word." The two stared at each other before heading back inside.

Audie had been out in town. He had been given duty of guarding Alstroemeria for the day, and he spent it idly walking around town. This was when he spotted a Salazzle who was stealing money from a register.

"Hey, stop!" Audie yelled at the Salazzle, beginning to run towards them. The Salazzle then also began running away. The two had sprinted well out of the city, with the Salazzle beginning to slow down. Audie then closed the distance, and grabbed the Salazzle's wrist firmly.

"Stop!" Audie yelled, then getting a good look at the Salazzle. The normal pink scales was instead a dark green, and their eyes were a bright blue. They were covered in scuffs and scratches, and they had a terrified look on their face.

"P-P-Please! Let me go... I-I'll return the money!" The Salazzle's voice was deeper than what was normal for the species. Audie then slowly let go of their wrist, and knelt down.

"Why'd you take it...?"

The Salazzle remained tense, and began to tremble. "I'm... I'm hungry... I have nothing... Nowhere to go... I've been... Homeless for years... My parents are hunting me... P-Please... Don't send me to jail... If my parents find me, they'll..."

"Easy, easy." Audie gently held his hands up. "I'm Audie. I'm with Team Singularity. What's your name?"

The Salazzle eased up slightly. "Um... I'm... Vega... I'm... Well, a male Salazzle... Which isn't supposed to happen..."

"Well, Vega... Let me help you. If you are willing, you can join our team. You'll have a home... Folks who care about you, and won't make fun of you for who you are. You'll make money. You'll never be hungry again. What do you say?" Audie held a hand out to the Salazzle.

Vega looked at Audie. The offer was tempting, but there was one thing on his mind. "I, um... I want to... But... My parents... They'll know where to look if my name pops up on the news..."

Audie smiled gently. "Well... You can always change your name. You have every right to. That way, they won't know where to look."

"Every... Right...?" Vega asked. "I've... I've never had free will of my own... Because of my parents... Is it... Really okay...?"

Audie nodded. "It is. You can do anything if you dream it... Even change your name."

Vega looked down, thinking for a few moments. "In... In that case... I want my name to be Ihsahn."

Audie nodded. "It suits you. It's good to meet you, Ihsahn. Now... Let's return that money you took, and get you cleaned up."

Ihsahn nodded, stood up, and began walking with Audie back into town.

Drabble: I Don't Wanna Talk (To You)

This little glimpse into the past has some heavy themes, including child abandonment and abandonment issues. If those are too heavy for you, feel free to skip this.

-LOCATION: FLORA, 3RD GAEA; 1 YEAR BEFORE LAPLANTE INCIDENT-

Remi and Solaris sat in the team’s home, both lounging. The former was very fidgety, and tapped her leg. For the past few months, she had been searching for her parents. She had always wondered about them - wondered where they went. Her searching yielded no results, and she became anxious that she would never find out. That is, until the front door was knocked. Remi stood up, and slowly opened the door. “Team Neo Destiny, what can we-”

Remi was then cut off by a hug. One from another Floatzel, who then looked up at her. “Oh, Remi… You’ve grown so big…” They said.

“Uh, um… Thanks…? Who are you…?”

Solaris then stood up, smiling. “Rem… The ‘mon that just hugged you is Billie. The other is Stevie. I’ll… Well, I’ll let them finish.”

The other Floatzel, Stevie, stepped forward. “Remi… Solaris found us, and wanted to surprise you. We’re your birth parents.”

Remi’s eyes lit up, then she turned around to look at Solaris. “These… These are…”

“Yep. Consider it a bit of a Christmas gift.” Solaris said, and slowly guided her forward.

Remi then turned around, and gave the two a firm hug. “Gods… I’ve been looking so much for you two.”

“We know, baby girl…” Billie said. “We’re here to stay… We want to make up for lost time.”

Stevie then began walking. “Come with us. We want to take you out for a meal.”

Over the course of a few months, Remi would reconnect with her parents, and they would shower her with gifts and love. Solaris became slightly worried by how much they were doing for her. During an evening, Remi expressed that she wanted to take her parents to see a movie, and promptly left the room to begin getting ready. When Solaris noticed that neither Billie nor Stevie were moving, he leaned forward.

“Aren’t you guys going to get ready?”

Billie looked up at Stevie, and sighed. “I got a letter from my Mom, she’s… Sick and in the hospital. Stevie and I have to travel to the Air Continent.”

Solaris sat back. “Okay. Shouldn’t you let Remi know? I’m sure she’d be willing to go with you.”

Stevie shook her head. “Well… We don’t want to worry her…”

The Charizard leaned forward. “If you’re about to do what I think you’re about to… You are going to break Remi’s heart.”

Billie sighed. “I’m sorry… We have to go…” The Floatzel stood up, and began walking to the door.

“Sit down,” Solaris said, standing up and beginning to walk towards the pair.

“I’m sorry… We don’t have-”

“I said… Sit. Down.”

Billie and Stevie both stopped, and slowly walked back into the room, taking a seat. Solaris then leaned down, and held up the note that was left with Remi’s egg.

“Do you not understand how selfish this is? You abandon her once, and now you’re going to again?”

“We didn’t abandon h-”

“Cut the bullshit!” Solaris said forcefully. “I get being scared to be a parent, but you have responsibilities. She spent all this time trying to find you… When you should have been trying to find her!”

Billie then stood up, an angry look on his face. “What the hell do you want from us? Something came up, and we don’t want to worry her!”

“I want you to be fucking parents!” Solaris had nearly shouted his sentence out. “She isn’t some book you can pick up and put down when you want to. She is meant to be cared for, like what I have done for her since I was 16! It isn’t her fault that you guys weren’t ready for her!”

Stevie looked up at Solaris. “L-Listen… We can’t tell her… About his mother being in the-”

Solaris held a claw up. “I’m not doing that job for you two. Now… You two will sit here until she’s ready. But I want you to know this: if you decide to walk out of that door… Without her? Do not walk back in here again.”

Several minutes would pass, and Remi came back down stairs, and waved to her parents. “You guys ready?”

Billie then stood up, and rubbed the back of his head. “Listen, sweety… We got a call about Grandma… She’s sick, and… Me and your mom have to go and check on her tonight.”

Remi looked worried. “L-Let me come with…”

Stevie shook her head. “We have to leave right now, and… And they only let two in at a time…”

Remi looked down. “Y-Yeah… No, yeah, that makes sense…”

Billie lightly tapped his legs. “We promise we’ll be back, babygirl… We just don’t know when…”

“I get you…” Remi responded coldly.

Stevie began to guide Billie to the door, with tears in her eyes. “We’ll see you again soon, Remi.”

“Y-Yeah… You too… Stevie… Billie…”

When the other two Floatzels heard Remi respond to them by their first names, they had gotten the hint, and tearfully exited the house.

Solaris stood up and walked to Remi. “Rem… Y-You know it’s… It’s okay to be angry…”

“No, no… It’s fine… I mean… What’s a little longer…” She forced a smile to Solaris. “I mean… It isn’t like I spent months trying to find them… Not like they were there to watch me walk… To help me when I got hurt…”

She was on the verge of hysterical tears, but continued to speak. “I didn’t need them. I grew up without them. I succeeded in life without them… I had all of my birthdays and Christmas's without them… And they didn’t once stop in at all… Fuck them!” Remi had gotten more animated, and had shouted her last sentence. “I don’t need them to find a mate, and have kids of my own… Because at least I know that I can be a hell of a lot better than they ever were!”

The Floatzel had breathed in and out, doing everything in her power to not break down. She looked at Solaris, who himself had looked to be on the verge of tears. Remi had finally leaned into what she was feeling, and finally said what was on her mind.

“What’s wrong with me… Wh-Why don’t they want me…?”

Solaris would then walk forward and tightly hug Remi, and she then began to sob into the Charizard’s neck.

Hey y'all! Have you wanted to read the story I've written, but are intimidated by the length of it? Well, here is a (rough) summarization of the story, told in chronological order! There will be several of these over the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for them!

STORY SUMMARY - FIRST GAEA, SECOND GAEA, THIRD GAEA, AND FORMING OF TEAM DESTINY

For millenia, two siblings - an Arceus known as Zappa, and a Giratina known as LaPlante - waged an endless battle. LaPlante’s plan was simple - form the super planet known as Infinity, and consume any and all universes. Zappa’s plan was to call on the world’s finest rescue team to combat LaPlante and end the war. Many of the souls that were chosen differed in each attempt, but there were always two constants: one Pokemon named Zane, and one Pokemon named Solaris - an inseparable duo that could meet LaPlante’s awesome power. But in every attempt that Zappa made, the team was killed off and Infinity was formed. The deer God would have no choice but to restart the universe… And try again.

This cycle continued for ages, and on the 3197th attempt, Zappa decided to shake things up.

-WORLD PRE-FLORA-

In the beginning, there was nothing. A completely dark void, filled with emptiness. And from this, a big bang occurred. The universe as we currently know it was formed. Our own world - that is, the world that you, the reader, currently inhabit - ceased to exist in the year 2048. As resources continued to dwindle, the major powers of the world ensued in a years-long war, beginning in 2030, for resources. The mandatory draft was reinstated, and population numbers continued to decrease as the war raged. The constant battles polluted the air, and began to kill off the remaining humans slowly. In 2048 the last remaining humans suffocated, and left their Earth a poisonous hellscape. Many centuries would pass, and the sun that once brought light and joy to our world began to expand, and eventually went supernova. But through this supernova, Zappa reawakened.

Zappa would immediately get to work, recreating our Earth - now called Gaea - as well as the sun. This version of Earth would be known as the 2nd Gaea, with our world being the first. They also created the Pokemon Gods, and began to create Pokemon. Zappa’s intentions were for a world of only Pokemon, but humans did inevitably crop up. Zappa intently watched as these humans created devices to capture Pokemon, and was ready to make humans go extinct. But they observed that these humans used the Pokemon for good. In seeing this, Zappa allowed these humans to coexist with Pokemon. The humans in this world live in different areas of a singular continent. This continent had no name, but the world was divided into different regions, and certain Pokemon existed in only those regions. Various trainers would crop up over the years - with some going on to save the world numerous times over, and others to use their Pokemon for more nefarious means.

Unknown to the humans, LaPlante was hard at work beginning her own plan. And her first deviation was to exterminate the world that Zappa had made. So in one single day, LaPlante caused a devastating earthquake that ravaged the continent and regions. The cataclysmic event completely wiped humans off of the planet, and killed over 95% of the living Pokemon. Zappa would begin to round up any Pokemon that remained, which included a Quaquaval named Enrique, who was inflicted with a disease that would have killed him, had it not been for Zappa giving him some of their power which allowed him to live longer and staved off the disease. With his help, the few remaining Pokemon were treated and brought back to health. The souls of the humans and Pokemon that died had no Tree of Life to go to, so instead came together and formed Necrozma, who then went into a slumber near the sun.

Zappa, though, was displeased. The world they created was devastated, and it wouldn’t take long for them to find out it was their sister. It was here that Zappa made their first changes to their plan. The first was to restrict LaPlante’s powers. She was stripped of her God status and was put into the body of a Ceruledge. She was then transported to a far away planet - called Gemini - where she would be imprisoned.

Zappa then recreated the world for a third time - but this time decided to omit humans completely. This world was to be made purely of Pokemon, with the intellect of the humans. Zappa would then observe humans from the first world, and would move them forward in time should they be deemed worthy. Several humans were selected, with the most famous being a human that helped to save the world from Dialga when their Time Gears were stolen. The various Gods were dispersed across the world, and were given the task of overseeing the various continents of the world. Unknown to Zappa, LaPLante had escaped Gemini, and the events occurring on Gaea were because of her. Around the time of the Bitter Cold crisis, Morello was born on the Grass Continent, and lived a semi-peaceful life with his family.

After the Dark Matter crisis had concluded, the Xerneas of this world, Ella, dreamed of having a continent to call her own. She confided in Zappa, and was given the okay. A chunk of the Grass continent was broken off, and Ella shaped it into the continent of Flora - an island where flowers bloomed constantly - and connected the continent to the Tree of Life.

-WORLD POST FLORA-

As Zappa watched the humans of the first world, they came across a peculiar human. An older fellow on a business trip. Zappa watched as this man was fatally stabbed and thrown into a lake. Seeing this, they intervened, and pulled the soul over. This soul was put into a Torchic body, and awakened in the Air Continent. The Torchic had no memories of who he was, and was found by a Charmander named Flare. Flare would give this Torchic the name Depeche. These two began a rescue team there, and rose through the ranks. The two would transfer to the Flora guild, where they continued their journey and evolved. Flare would meet a female Charizard, and the two had a son named Solaris. After the birth of Solaris, Flare and Depeche retired, with the Charizard settling down with his wife and son, and the Blaziken becoming the guildmaster at the guild in Flora’s capital, Alstroemeria.

-PART I, STORY VIII: LAST RESORT-

Around the same time, on the Grass Continent, Morello traveled with his father while hunting for food for their pack. An earthquake rattled the island, and hurled rocks off of a nearby cliff. Morello saved his father from a falling tree, but in the process had his leg crushed and pinned under the tree. Thinking his father would return, the Lycanroc decided to wait it out. Morello's father escaped back to his pack and family, but was told to not save their son, or else they would be disowned from the group. After five long days, and surviving off of only the nectar from the tree, Morello became desperate. With whatever strength he had left, Morello chewed through his crushed leg, and freed himself, finally able to escape.

Morello's cries of pain were heard by his mother and father, who immediately took off for the sound, knowing they wouldn’t be welcomed back. When they reached the tree, the pair only found blood and what was remaining of Morello's leg. They assumed the worst.

Morello was found by a Machamp who was stationed nearby. The Machamp had given Morello a crude prosthetic leg, and nurses him back to health. The Lycanroc was given a boat, and was sent towards Flora. Once arriving there, Morello joined a nomadic group that traveled around Flora constantly. This group was led by Knopps, a Midnight Lycanroc that learned that Morello was only interested in dating guys and made his life hell.

A few years later, six souls would arrive to Gaea. The first was Vance. He was the youngest of his family, and was berated by his mother and brother. His father was the only one who showed him kindness. But the kindness wouldn’t last forever, as during a hunting trip the two would be attacked by wild Lycanroc. Vance’s father was killed in front of him, and Vance had no choice but to run.

The berating from his family only grew worse after the death of his father, leading to an incident in which Vance was blinded by his brother, and left to die in the wild. After coming to, Vance wandered aimlessly until being found by an older Lucario named Jonas, who took Vance in and began to teach him how to see using only his aura sight.

Next came Avett, born in Flora after his father returned from the Grass Continent. Avett was always fascinated by his father's work, and strove to be just like him. This knack for medicine made Avett choose not to pursue learning a fighting-style, as is common for fighting-types, but instead started his journey on learning to be a doctor, and strived to be the world's greatest doctor one day.

Years after this, Florence would be born. She had five happy years, then her mother committed suicide by jumping off of a rock. Florence’s father was abusive, to both Florence and her mother. Her mother had enough, and ended her life. The death of Florence’s mother only added to the abuse, as Florence had no one left to hide behind.

Next were a Mawile named Urie and an Eevee named Miles. Urie remembers nothing of his parents, having been given to an orphanage as a newborn. Miles was born to a famous family of thieves, who stole money from gangs and oligarchs, and gave that money to those that desperately needed it. During her formative years, Miles’ parents stole from a very notable crime family, helmed by a Snorlax named Laszlo. The family had stolen from Laszlo’s gang a number of times, leading to Laszlo assigning his second in command, Sabbath, to kill Miles’ parents and anyone related or associated with them. Fearing for her safety, Miles was dropped off at the same orphanage that Urie was at so she could hide away. Her parents then ran off, being killed shortly after this. Miles and Urie eventually met, and became blood siblings.

Finally, Angel was born. She was created by scientists in the hope of recreating the extinct Silvally species. She appeared to be a promising subject, but they soon changed their tune when they discovered that she could not change typing with the RKS System, and could only tolerate the Fairy typing. She was deemed a failure, and quarantined to reside with the other failed subjects for the rest of her days.

When Solaris was three, his mother passed away, having overdosed from the pressures of raising the Charmander. Solaris had seen this happen, and was too afraid to say anything or call for help, which led to his father falling into a depression. Solaris’ brain mentally blocked this moment in his mind, and began to tell himself that she had died because of a Beartic that attacked her while she was out getting something for the Charmander. Flare didn’t dare tell Solaris the truth, and kept the facade up for his sake. But news of her death spread fast within Flora, and it wouldn’t take long for bullies to begin hunting down Solaris.

-PART I, STORY XVIII: GUNS FOR HANDS-

Sirius, one of Solaris’ bullies, was picking on him, and beating him up. Sirius began mocking Solaris for hiding behind his parents because they were famous rescuers. Solaris did not take it kindly, and went in to attack Sirius, but the attack was blocked and Solaris was pummeled as a result. Sirius and his two friends then began to tell Solaris that his mother’s death was his fault, and laughed at him about it, before they left.

When Solaris returned home, Flare was tending to Solaris’ injuries. Here, the Charmander said that he had had enough, exclaiming that healing his injuries wouldn’t matter because the bullies would make things worse the next day. He then began to blame himself for his mother’s death, telling Flare that nothing would have happened if Solaris wasn’t a good kid. He stormed off crying to his room, slamming the door shut.

In his room, Solaris cried into his pillow, and had a mental break. He was sick of everything. He missed his mother, he was fed up with the bullies. He hated himself. He wanted things to end. In a fit of rage, he punched a mirror in his room, and shattered it. He then picked up a rather sharp piece of glass and cut his wrists, intending to end his own life. Flare, hearing the commotion, busted down Solaris’ door and rushed him to the hospital, where doctors were thankfully able to save him.

In the weeks following, Flare helped his son back to health, and even taught him how to defend himself. When his bullies heard about his attempt, they went to pick on Solaris once more, only to have it end with Sirius’ nose broken, and the threat of jail time should they continue to harass him. The bullies left Solaris alone for the time being.

A few days after, Zappa was once again observing the first Gaea and came across a young boy, who suffered a seizure. The soul would have perished, but Zappa saved this soul and placed them in a Cubone body. This Cubone then washed ashore near Solaris’ home. The Cubone was taken in by Solaris, and the two became friends. Seeing his opportunity, Solaris put forward the idea that the two form a rescue team. Zane agreed, and they both went to the guild in Alstroemeria to form Team Destiny.

LaPlante’s plan was simple - form the super planet known as Infinity, and consume any and all universes. Zappa’s plan was to call on the world’s finest rescue team to combat LaPlante and end the war. Many of the souls that were chosen differed in each attempt, but there were always two constants: one Pokemon named Zane, and one Pokemon named Solaris - an inseparable duo that could meet LaPlante’s awesome power. But in every attempt that Zappa made, the team was killed off and Infinity was formed. The deer God would have no choice but to restart the universe… And try again.

This cycle continued for ages, and on the 3197th attempt, Zappa decided to shake things up.

-WORLD PRE-FLORA-

In the beginning, there was nothing. A completely dark void, filled with emptiness. And from this, a big bang occurred. The universe as we currently know it was formed. Our own world - that is, the world that you, the reader, currently inhabit - ceased to exist in the year 2048. As resources continued to dwindle, the major powers of the world ensued in a years-long war, beginning in 2030, for resources. The mandatory draft was reinstated, and population numbers continued to decrease as the war raged. The constant battles polluted the air, and began to kill off the remaining humans slowly. In 2048 the last remaining humans suffocated, and left their Earth a poisonous hellscape. Many centuries would pass, and the sun that once brought light and joy to our world began to expand, and eventually went supernova. But through this supernova, Zappa reawakened.

Zappa would immediately get to work, recreating our Earth - now called Gaea - as well as the sun. This version of Earth would be known as the 2nd Gaea, with our world being the first. They also created the Pokemon Gods, and began to create Pokemon. Zappa’s intentions were for a world of only Pokemon, but humans did inevitably crop up. Zappa intently watched as these humans created devices to capture Pokemon, and was ready to make humans go extinct. But they observed that these humans used the Pokemon for good. Ann nodded, wiping her eyes. "Yeah, I'll let them know... And I'll leave you be for now. You've had a bit of a rollercoaster of emotions in the span of a couple of hours..." She paused, then gave another quick hug to Eva before she stood up and exited the room.

She returned to Karie and Solaris, still fanning her face in a vain attempt to dry her eyes. Dad... Papa... Eva's going to be okay. She just needs some time to herself..." She said quietly, taking a look at the bag of minerals Eva dropped before storming off. "Do you want me to do anything with this? Eva just kinda... Dropped it..." Ann chuckled lightly as she picked the bag up and slung it across her shoulder.

"It's okay, Eva. With how sudden this is, I don't expect you to be okay with everything, like I am. We only want to make up for the years we lost. And, just like Karie, Papa's only wish, during our time away, was to watch you grow up. And Papa is grateful to know both you and Dad are okay."

Ann looked down. "You know... I am a bit envious of you... Because you were able to have a childhood... Being able to run outside... To play with others. Because I was with Solaris, most of my time, once I became of age, was dedicated to training. I never really... Had fun when I was growing up." This time it was Ann's turn to begin tearing up. "Now with all of the time Papa and I have... I just hope you can find it in you to give us a chance... Even if it takes a while for you to warm up to us."

Ann listened intently to Eva, nodding slowly as she spoke. But as she saw her big sister on the verge of tears, Ann scooted closer and gave Eva a firm hug.

"Whoa, hey..." She said quietly, bringing Eva in close and lightly rubbing her back. "That's not true at all. Family is who you make it out to be, regardless of your lineage. You and my big sister Remi would get along well... Because she too was left on Papa's doorstep. And she wanted to find her original family... And she did, even reconnected with them. And you know what happened...? They walked out on her again. After showering her with promises, and gifts... I wasn't around when it happened, but... Rem told me it broke her... But Papa... Morello... Aunt Florence... They were there to lift her back up."

Ann looked down at Eva, using her long neck to finally make eye contact with her. "All that to say that... It doesn't matter if you're related by blood or not... As long as you surround yourself with people that unconditionally love you. Which Karie does... Which Papa does... Which I do."

Ann paused briefly, to really consider her words before continuing. "Answer this for me... If Papa and myself didn't care about you... Wanted nothing to do with you... Do you really think we would have come back?
