From Mercy To Murder

I love how Leo likes people, unless they have proven themselves as a (real) danger to his family. Then the only reason immediate murder is not forthcoming is because it may scar his impressionable brothers.

And this protective streak heightens an insane amount once he becomes the father/Sensei. He takes his role SERIOUSLY.

Miyamoto Usagi leads his brothers off a cliff? A CLIFF?

Nu-uh, no way, instant red flag. NOT TODAY!

Who cares if he's their only hope of getting home? Not Leo!

Dude killed his bros?

Welp, time to fight him to the death. There's no other option here, it seems. Leo will fight him and he will win- but, heck, if the leader fails and dies, he joins his brothers so there's really no losing here.

Dracula is my absolute fav Sensei moment.

There were little implications that they were going to do anything more than simply trying to talk to the Vampire until Raph got separated and knocked down. Now he's realizing the potential of all of them getting hurt or worse. Suddenly, Leo craves violence.

He's never even made eye contact with the guy, but Leo will stake Dracula through the heart with zero hesitations if it means that the current dangers posed to his brothers will end sooner than later.

Donnie loves his brother and he understands where he's coming from, but he feels like a family intervention may be needed someday.

Happy Mutation Day, Slash!

10 years ago, on this day, the TMNT episode Slash and Destroy aired!

The star babies, Slash and Lita! A bit of info under the cut.

The living embodiment of “from dust you came,” Slash and Lita exist as constructs rather than mutants. Crafted out of clay and life breathed into them by their mother Geraldine, the two are two halves to one whole. Slash was crafted first as an experiment, with Lita coming along four years later.

If you asked Geraldine why she chose turtles, she’ll only shrug. She shaped the clay, but the clay chose itself how it wanted to hatch.

Magic weaves throughout their lives thanks to Geraldine’s parenting. They find their own talents over the years—Slash enjoys the subtler arts of walking through dreams and scrying for answers, while Lita loves the complexities of weaving spells and reading tarot.

She might find it a little funny to fib about what the Death card really means in a reading. Slash thinks his little sister needs to stop tempting fate and read her cards properly…or not at all. 😒

Other little tidbits:

Slash is non-verbal in the waking world. In dreams, he’s far more likely to be talkative.

Both have the thickest southern accents. This never goes away, even in their adult years.

Lita is deeply jealous of her brother’s tail—there absolutely was a screaming tantrum thrown one day involving the phrase, “Why does he get a tail and I don’t?”

Lita carries around a lioness plush and yes, loves pink. Slash loves his whale plush and likes space-themed stuff.

Slash is technically named Beauregard…Raph is responsible for the name he prefers. Geraldine will never forgive him for this.

Lita’s full name is Lita-Marie. Do not call her that unless you want an ear-shattering scream in your vicinity.

*Warnings: Spoilers for TMNT 2012 ofc, mentions of gender dysphoria and trans related insecurity, transphobia, accidental arson, bullying, manipulation, ptsd, also the tone of the headcanons shift randomly also also typing quirk

*Chris Bradford is trans. )(e did a full transition, he did hormones, voice training, top and bottom surgery, a few different surgeries to make him look/feel more masculine, all the bells and whistles, even went the extra mile to do procedures to hide his surgery scars. )(e's closeted and does about everything in his power to make sure no one even question that he was assigned female at birth because he's scared of his social image of being the great macho man, Chris Bradford, crumbling.

*Leo mainly or solely uses fandom and fanfic socials like Wattpad, AO3, Amino, Tumblr, and maybe Twitter. She mainly interacts with Space )(eroes and Crognard The Barbarian fan posts and shows a special interest in gender swap aus.

*Later on, post show with Muckman's help the mutants are actually able to freely walk around humans without them completely flipping out and starting a mob to witch hunt after them.

*Speaking of walking around humans, Napoleon and the frogs down in Louisiana are considered local urban legend and humans get really excited when they spot the frogs in the woods.

*Dr. Rockwell is a very big coffee enjoyer and used to secretly steal coffee from the nearby shops around the mighty mutanimals hideout and on the rare occasion when someone caught him and called him out he would always use the excuse of the shops being owned by big corporations.

*Don Visioso is a deadbeat father of 5. )(e also has had multiple wives and many divorces.

*Mondo Gecko will call people posers if he's jealous enough of them.

*Ivan Steranko is also trans but has only had hrt and face masculinizing surgery and refuses to get top and bottom surgery.

*Anton Zeck is incredibly smart and performed extremely well in high school and even got free scholarships for how well he did.

*Shinigami is a big video game nerd and will geek out if anyone mentions one of the games she plays.

*The reason Anton hated the mutant name Mikey gave him at first is because it either sounds a lot like or straight up is a nickname old bullies of him gave in order to make fun of him.

*Premutation, Chris acts transphobic towards Xever (despite Xever being cis) out of jealousy and insecurity.

*Baxter Stockman is either a gay aroace trans mspec nonbinary man or a cishet ally. No in-between.

*Mini April cluster!!!:

*April has a deep love for literature and writes poetry in her spare time.

*She almost burned down the culinary class in her school once.

*She's questioning aroace.

*She felt extra empathy for Muckman because he reminded her of Kirby a little bit.

*She likes to hide stickers around the lair whenever has them on her person.

*She thoroughly enjoys having long conversations with each of the individual turtles. (It's her favorite way to spend time with anyone tbh)

*April does eventually take some time to properly learn Japanese and becomes pretty decent at speaking and reading it.

*)(er and Donnie often like to geek out together whenever they find anything new about aliens (both species they haven't seen yet and ones they know well like the kraang).

*End of the mini April cluster!!!

*Kirby O'Neil is a pretty decent cook. That man can make a mean chicken stew.

*Shinigami actually owns multiple cats. 2 ragdoll, 1 sphinx, 1 Persian, and 3 British shorthairs (I could name them all, but I don't wanna). Also, the majority of them are black cats. She feeds strays, too.

*The last headcanon is much to Karai's dismay because she is somewhat allergic. She gets headaches, her skin gets slightly irritated and she gets the sniffles if she's around cats for too long.

*Casey's younger sister wants to be a hair stylist when she grows up, so Jones let's her do his hair every once in a while and he flexes it to every one at the lair like: "Oh? My hair? Yeah, my sister did it for me. Pretty metal, what she did with it, right?"

*Tigerclaw is the only Foot Clan member to not bully Baxter Stockman.

*Someone manipulated and lied to Alopex in order to make her hate and hunt down her brother.

*After season 4, Baxter Stockman leaves New York and takes over Stockman Industries. (If you're unaware of what that is, it's on billboards that the turtles pass throughout the show the most notable appearance being in the ending scene of the final season 4 episode, 'Owari'.)

*Slash deep down still misses The Newtralizer.

*Leatherhead kind of freaks out (apologies for the bad wording) when someone fully wraps their arms around his neck when hugging him because it reminds him of the restraints the Kraang put him in.

*Pigeon Pete learns how to bake so he can make his own bread.

*The turtles get a Wii (or whatever the universes equivalent is).

*Mondo Gecko gets an old Xbox and plays Tony )(awk games, Bully, and Twisted Metal on it.

*Ivan and Anton actually move out to New Jersey post show.

More WoF/TMNT crossover ideas because I spend my days rotating blorbos and nothing else:

If anyone is going to be an animus it’s going to be Mackerel (Mikey). Between the fanon of him having the most natural physical talent and Rise giving him very strong mystic abilities, it just makes sense. (You could argue Donnie too but eh)

The thing is. Every Seawing knows the story of Albatross, every Seawing knows how dangerous spending your soul as currency for magic is. And given the fact that Albatross specifically murdered his whole family… Mackerel having nightmares about killing his brothers, his father, the dragons closest to him makes a lot of sense.

So he tells no one and uses his magic as little as possible. He worries that if his family found out they might hate him, or fear him, or even kill him before his soul has too many holes. The worst part of that last fear is that if they did, he’d understand. He loves his family, he loves being around them, but the secret weighs heavily and there’s a certain loneliness behind his eyes if look close enough.

Until. He ticks off Razorback (Raphael) bad enough that the whole metal pipe scene plays out. Except ya know. With teeth and claws and thrashing tails. Razorback still manages to stop himself, to find restraint, before swimming off, flashing apology after apology in frantic aquatic. Maybe later he finds an island, a beach, a tiny scavenger who seems just as angry as he is. Maybe not.

What definitely happens is Mackerel finds him later, corners him. Razorback is convinced he’s angry and while he doesn’t think Mackerel will hurt him, he expects to be chewed out in rapid, angry aquatic. His brother’s phosphorescent scales are calm though. Slow. Understanding. Mackerel explains his fears, he explains his powers and makes it clear how much he gets it, how strong the fear of losing oneself is. Razorback is surprised. But he takes it all in stride and promises to keep the secret. From father, from Sea Lion (Leonardo), from Dolphin (Donatello) and especially from their Queen. And they continue on. Mackerel’s a little less lonely. Razorback is a little more protective of his youngest brother. They both understand each other more than ever and they keep Mackerel’s magic under careful wraps.

Until. Their ally in the war, Blister, leaves a couple of her best and brightest guards at the summer palace. Just as a precaution, just in case enemies sniff them out from the sky and attack. Mackerel meets one when he’s tasked with bringing their guests food, or maybe they bump into each other on happenstance while Mackerel walks the palace with his brother or maybe they’re both assigned to guard princess Anemone briefly or maybe— well it doesn’t really matter. Mackerel meets the Sandwing spy Slash. Only, in Mikey’s eyes he’s just a loyal soldier. A large, noble, whip-smart dragon. A little shy, a little clumsy, but strong and beautiful and kind.

And Slash finds Mackerel just as charming. Funny, warm, creative, talented. He’s supposed to be spying on the Seawings, supposed to be reporting back on any little detail that could point to plots of betrayal, any little morsel that could be used as leverage just in case the Seawing Queen stops playing nice. But he can’t take his eyes off this remarkable little Seawing and his whimsical, joyous nature. Can’t stop thinking about him. He knows it’s wrong, knows that another Sandwing would better for him, safer for him, with less moral snags and stressors. But he can’t stop his heart from running away, right into Mackerel’s gentle talons.

They fall in love. They hold one another. They twine their tails together in a swirling helix of blue and pale yellow. They kiss. And Mackerel finally finds one more dragon he can trust enough with his biggest, most dangerous secret.

He tells Slash he is the first Seawing animus in generations. At least, as far as he knows. And Slash really, really wishes he hadn’t.

TMNTEmber Day 16: Favorite Mutant

Obvious choice for this day! XD Slash became my favorite character in the entire show during the time season 3 aired. I love how much he changed throughout the story, from being Raph's pet turtle, to a monster that nearly destroyed the Turtles, to being a kind and loyal friend who regrets what he did in the past. And he is an amazing leader! I could talk about him all day!
