Like genuinely his face is EVERYTHING to me and its the part that I get really upset when I dont feel I do it justice when drawing him. His face is precious and squishy and he's my favorite wittle froggie ever

Annabeth, and others, often treat Percy as if he’s ridiculous or obtuse for his reactions to the demigod world, when in reality he’s a (relatively) well adjusted kid who was raised by a loving parent. His actions make sense based on his upbringing

- parents arent supposed to be neglectful

- parents are supposed to be easily attainable, loving, and present in a child’s life

- if you’re in trouble, you should call for help, there isn’t shame in admitting you’re in over your head, you’re twelve

- you shouldn’t have to jump through life endangering hoops to get your parent’s attention

Annabeth acts like he’s ridiculous, but he’s right. Annabeth knows how the Greek world works, but Percy knows how the real world is supposed to work. & rightfully calls out the BS. But it’s hard for most demigods to agree because what kid wants to admit the way their parents treat them is awful? That their actions are those of aloof, negligent, even narcisstic people who are unwilling or incapable of giving the proper love and support a child needs. That even if their godly parent does love them, it’s a pathetic, horrible, attempt at love you’re better off without.

I think it's really important for any yellowjackets fan that was not alive in the 90s to know how accurate that ice cream shop commercial was. Commercials back then were fucking terrifying. So were some of the toys and tv shows. Tai being haunted by creepy ass 90s character is so real. That is the most brilliant way to tie in the no eyed man and I can't wait to see what they do with it. It really adds to the supernatural vs psychological debate. I love how everything can be either or. Him being in the dreams/hallucination definitely feels supernatural! Aaaand it's also not far off that multiple girls saw that commercial as kids, it scarred them, and it stayed in their subconscious. It's just such good writing I love it.

That is one of the most realistic things so far. Every friend I know that is my age has at least one sworn enemy from the 90s that's haunted them to this day. Many of us have the same nightmare! Here's a few examples:

Been thinking a lot recently about how William Afton definitely falls into a lot of queerphobic tropes. And how he's pretty dehumanised within the story because he does awful things. And how both of those things together feel extra icky.

I feel like Scott just gave him a bunch of things to make him feel 'creepy' and a lot of those were just him being queer or mentally ill and he's the only character who really presents that way and oh my god. He exclusivly murders CHILDREN, guys. That's TEXTBOOK gaypanic shit, guys.

so i have this au called "the mage's heir" where davy never gives simon up after lucy's death and, instead, makes the decision to raise him alone. and kinda does okay! davy is still all *snazzy piano riff* and shit, but in this verse, taking care of simon when he's small forces him to step away from his work and chill the fuck out a bit. at least for a little while. (simon winds up growing up into a signficiantly more arrogant and morally grey version of himself tho.)

I like how he just doesn't feel pain. Jimmy uses Kryptonite, which usually brings them to their knees, and he doesn't even blink. Notably, it doesn't remove the powers. Idk if this means Brainiac's systems can just power through or if Kryptonite doesn't affect powers in this world but yeah.

I like how Kara seems to power up like Clark and B just kinda catches it. For Clark, pain would have been a handicap. He would have strained or something, but nah. Not Brainiac. If there's no pain, there's no flinching. Without pain, he can think clearly. (And give his monologues straight forward too)

Also "I was created to be the greatest mind of Krypton. Built to defend and uphold the ideals of our people." So dude's just straight up Eradicator. That's cool.
