How to Write a Fantasy Novel in 7 Magical Steps - Litreactor
Think about issues that are important to you According to Rebecca Heyman, a Reedsy editor who has worked with popular fantasy authors such as Elise Kova, writing fantasy can be a great outlet. “Your concerns about politics, culture, the environment, technology, violence, racism, misogyny — these issues can be explored in inventive, eye-opening ways while writing fantasy.”
Why assume any fantasy writer must have generic mainstream left-wing/progressive views? I can think of several off the top of my head who are right wing. Like David Weber. Or Larry Correia.*
And I say this as someone whose favorite sci-fi series is the Vorkosigan Saga, which is very progressive, with lots of political content.
It's kind of ironic that one of the earlier points is "Figure out what sets your world apart". I'm pretty sure there's a lot of left-wing/progressive fantasy writers out there, putting those themes into their books.
Some with more...subtlety than others.
*I assume. Urban fantasy counts, right?

Imagine claiming to be a persecuted minority while also supporting a super power of a nation that literally bombs civilians of other countries they simply don’t like, and creates conflicts on foreign soil… oh, also you come from a country (Israel) that was created by said super power (USA). Last but not least, you’re government is literally killing the children of people who’ve lived there long before your grandparents moved there in the 1930s.

Interesting strangers I meet........
Someone in a Fortnite Discord servers: "yea on Geeks & Gamers discord, we play some matches to chill out." Me thinking: "Are Geeks & Gamers those YouTubers that complain about SJWs ruining Star Wars and the MCU?" Check Geeks & Gamers YouTube "…….They are……" I can tell just from the thumbnails alone.
Well, so far it is just the one person. And it is Fortnite discord. So best not to discuss politics. Especially from my commie ass. XD

the amount of ways we have to qualify the geoncide in gaza in order to get people to care is actually sickening to me. “it’s a feminist issue!” “it’s a disabilities issue!” “it’s an environmental issue!” like i’m sorry but even if this was happening solely to able bodied men and was causing no harm to the environment, it would still be wrong because it’s a genocide and these people are being bombed and killed and starved every fucking day. you shouldn’t need an extra label to give you a reason to care about people that are dying.

Securing the borders, prioritizing national security, protecting the people and defending national sovereignty are NOT crimes. Trespassing into a country is a crime. Illegal aliens are criminals, not refugees.
Lastly, prioritizing citizens over foreigners is NOT racist. That is SJW foolishness.

The other thread on this was started by chuds so I'm gonna reboot it myself: it's really sad that people don't understand the Midwest is where food gets grown and we're supposed to grow a lot more of it.
Suggesting people just move to the cities is astonishingly clueless and would only make the situation worse. Some Americans have truly no idea what it's like out there, tiny communities separated by hour long drives if you even have transport, millions of people really are just abandoned and left behind by what we consider progress and have no way out.

I Criticize the black (American) community for ignoring its problems with domestic abuse, and men who have a consistent problem with cat calling and harassing women on the streets. It really is a problem. I live in a city that’s 48% black, and every time I go out, I have to deal with black men giving me unwanted sexual advances. I make this valid criticism, and what do I get? A white MALE telling me that I’m making up stereotypical assessments of people, despite the reality. He doesn’t care. He clearly only cares to silence women (especially if they’re white) despite the sexual harassment people like I who rely on public transportation, and who also live in the ghetto, have to deal with every day for the sake of his stupid politics. I can’t imagine what black women and especially mothers go through, considering that a huge majority of the men supposedly in their lives do not take initiative nor responsibility and would rather go out and harass women half their age on the streets. It’s not a stereotype. It’s an epidemic, and I have every right to criticize the community for this. Just like black people are allowed to criticize whites or any other group, we all have that right. To deny it, and to deny women their safety and neglect the issues isn’t t going to solve issues. It only makes me sadder that it’s a WHITE MALE from the same city as me, no less using his insecurities and white fragility to try to silence me. There is obviously rampant sexism, domestic violence and violence against women within the black community. That’s a really serious issue to the point that it even effects people like me, who aren’t part of said community, but have to deal with the repercussions because no one wants to take accountability, and men, regardless of race don’t want to step up and do something to protect women, when they clearly could and have the power to do so. These are the kind of people that would rather ignore it because of their weak political beliefs. There is no such thing as racial Justice if you’re going to dismiss the problems of another group of people, and not give a shit about their safety. There clearly is something wrong here and I have every right to criticize it. I’m so fucking pissed and angry. I’m tired of fearing for my safety, and I’m tired of feeling disgusted because I know what these men are thinking. I know what they want. It’s humiliating and dehumanizing. No one, regardless of race or gender should have to go through something like this. So all you white folks with white fragility, who don’t care about the real issues and would rather continue let men abuse and harass women for the sake of their shitty politics, can sincerely fuck off.

So among all this is perhaps a lesson, perhaps the one you should have learned as a child from The Boy Who Cried Wolf but that it seems fandom continues to not get.... that "cancelling" people for petty bullshit, like wild-ass interpretations that no one who isn't ass-deep in your Discord personality cult's headcanons would read a particular tweet as saying, or jokes people made 20 years ago that they've since apologized for profusely, and so on, makes it much harder to get your cancelling taken seriously when it's over something genuinely heinous and actually necessary
There are people who actually worshipped JKR and there are people who gushed about her because she wrote Harry Potter and they loved Harry Potter who literally knew nothing about her that wasn't in the author bio on the dust jacket. I think fandom oriented people tend to forget how big a population the latter was! But Harry Potter was so huge at its peak that it had a lot of casual fans who deeply, deeply loved the series, maybe even knew the trivia of the actual books inside and out, but never engaged with the fandom side of things or dove deep into meta information. There were normies attending midnight release parties, the series was that big.
