i just have to know!! Favourite fossils / fossil taxa? Came for the fats and stayed for the interests… I really like echinoderms !!
echinoderms are fucking sick!!! pls be shhhhh about this but i have a spot where you can find some of the most gorgeous early cretaceous-aged sea urchins, spines and porocystis preserved🫣
museum quality shit. i got to handle a collection worth millions that was full of these and it was LIFE CHANGING
but. i am a plant fossil nerd 😭 i collect a lot of petrified wood!!! my fav pieces are from oregon—although they have some gorgeous opalized/silicified stuff, TX rivals it in beauty imo. ppl just don’t polish their shit here..
conifers are my fav!!! i have a few metasequoia fossils (cone, leaves) and i want more 🥺
#i am not a dino person#i have some sick ancient reptile fossils#but idc i want leaves!!!!!#btw. if y’all wanna do a fossil exchange lmk……#talk#ask

Aaravos Thought and Overall Trailer Thoughts
Hello Everyone, I just thought about the new Dragon Prince Trailer and about Aaravos.
T.W/Tags - This post will contain spoilers of Season 7 Dragon Prince Official Trailer that just recently came out. If you have not watched the trailer or do not want to read spoilers, I suggest you scroll on! You have been warned!
Dragon Prince Season 7 Trailer Thoughts:
First off, that was a really good trailer and not going to lie, some feelings of nostalgia and sadness came up(especially with the old footages presented).
I hope they give us an arc three and it gets approved.
With those two thoughts out of the way, time to get into the main reason for this post: Aaravos 😁!
In the trailer, the first we hear about Aaravos is that he wants to bring about "eternal night". This is an interesting choose of diction or word choice because it is not eternal darkness, it is eternal night. Night =/= Darkness. The night is filled with speckles of light(stars) and one giant bulb of light(the moon).
Now this could reveal three things or possible theories.
One, it shows that on some level Aaravos still does care about people, especially humanity. The best way to still control situations and groups of people is by giving them some level of choice or hope in the matter. If you go not give people hope or some level of autonomy, they most likely do not do well and more often than not give up or resent that person. This does not seem like something Aaravos would want. Besides, the manipulation stand point, it also shows on some level that Aaravos is a person with feelings and motivations, he doesn't want people to not go into despair like he did, when the Star Council condemed Leola.
The second thing with this "eternal night" is that he wants the Stars to witness. He also probably wants to the moon or more specially the Moonshadow elves to witness. As besides Sol Regem, Sun is now changing and is more tolerant of what is happening(with Humans getting magic and living alongside them). From what we have seen from the show, the other elves for the most part seem accepting of humans having magic(so long as it is not dark and even then that is complicated issue) and like having humans by their side. I know what you are saying....What does this have to do with the moon? Well, the Moonshadow elves are the only species of elves that still cling to the old ways and have not really changed(Expect for Rayla). So, in a way, the Moon might be a symbolism to the Moonshadow elves. Basically, "you Moonshadow elves crave order so much and I am against that, so witness the chaos all around. Let us see what you guys will do or choose?"
Lastly, the "eternal night" might be a homage to Leola. He doesn't want to shut down the stars, because doing so, Leola would also cease to exist in a sense. In addition, Moon deals with reflection and ghosting, further silicifying that he is doing all of this for Leola and her ghost that she left behind(Aaravos - a shell of his former self, suppose to live on without her).
Speaking of Moon and the "rising of the undead", this former adds to Aaravos's detestment of Order in any of its form. It also plays into Aaravos, having been haunted for years and stuck in a prison(much like his pervious home and trapped in the tears he created to Leola's dead corpse), he is a ghost in a sense. He is "haunted and can not move on because he still has business in this realm". The ghost he brings back, according to some of the trailer footage is dragons and people that our protagonists knew, further adding that haunting element. He wants them to feel the same pain he felt, confronting the dead and having to live with the choices they make.
The rising of the undead and the chaos all around is also a symbolism for his mind. Now, I am going to little outreach, but stay with me. I know MBTI, as I have taken the test multiple of times and took a personality class in college as a Psych minor. Having studied this topic in depth, most XNTJ or XNFJ, have lower Se in their stack and have higher Ni. For those who do not the functions, Ni is introverted intuition, it is a gathering of information function and it is where most XNTJ/XNFJ's get their insights and aha moments as we see the bigger picture of things, engage more with the abstract and recognize patterns(among other things). Se is also a information gathering function, but it involves your 5 senses, being aware of the present moment, having an appreciation for the finer things in life, often very movement and environment based and feels strong intense emotions to situations. What I am getting at here is that Aaravos, according to my thoughts is an ENTJ. He has Ni higher than Se, but it is not so much lower like it would be for INTJ's or INFJ's.
This rising of the undead, plays into both functions. Aaravos with the haunting and ghost symbolism, as well as distain for any order(even the rise of the undead is seen as breaking the natural order of things) can seen as him using Ni. However, in doing so and creating destruction and chaos all around without a care or regard for others, who would undoubtedly be hurt in the process because of his intense emotions regrading Leola's death, left him to be very unhealthy mentally and coping-wise. Basically, this is reflected in his environment as many XNTJ's and XNFJ's can tell you that when we are feeling really bad and stressed, we kind of indulge into Se and sometimes that can be seen in the environment. There are of course healthy ways to deal with stress and bad moments, but we are talking about unhealthy because Aaravos is an unhealthy individual since the loss of Leola. I can explain more in the comments, if asked, but I think this should suffice in getting what I want to say across.
Lastly, I find it ironic that he hates order so much and in all forms, yet forms plans with backup plans(those backup plans have plans).... 🤭
That is all I have for now and Thank you to coming to my Tedtalk.
I hope you guys enjoy this post and I look forward to seeing season 7!
Let me guys know what you guys think in the comment section or add some of your theories.

introducing Yadonite
"Yadenite is a term used by rockhounders in Klamath Falls in reference to a type of opalite found on hillsides on the north side of town. The local occurrence of opalite was so named in honor of John C. Yaden, who helped organize the Klamath Mineral Society in Klamath Falls."
Yadonite (sometimes spelled Yadenite) is an opaline chert rock described as having “a vitreous and pearly luster, and... Color variations range from iron oxide red to pure white.” - it is theorized to be "a type of silicified tuff with an exclusive undocumented chemical composition” and believed to be "made up of 20-plus minerals, including barite, celestite, bismutite, amorphous quartz, and potassium feldspar which form only in hydrothermal environments." - so far Yadonite has been "found exclusively in the Klamath Basin in the Yonna Formation of the Middle Pliocene Epoch".
[X] [X] [X]
While not much is definitively known about this unassuming rock it holds a very special place in my heart because it is actually named after my great-great grandfather <3 I grew up very close with my great-grandma (John C. Yadon's daughter) and she told me about her parents all the time and the love for nature, literature, and education they instilled in her which she passed on to me. I'm proud to say that today I have in my own rock collection pieces that John C. Yadon collected himself in the late 19th century. As far as I know all our pieces of Yadonite were passed on to extended family and donated to geological societies.
PS I'm not a geologist just an enthusiast so if I messed up some info please be kind <3

This intriguing feature was uncovered in 2009 during excavations in a former cultivated field in the Sand Lake Archaeological District near Onalaska. The soil within the feature was dark, like a storage or refuse pit, but the size and shape suggested it was something different--a semisubterranean, keyhole-shaped house. The feature measured about 5.4 by 3 meters (17.9 x 9.8 feet) and consisted of an oval main area and a “ramp” on the east side that extended to the north. It was 36 centimeters (just over 1 foot) deep. The dashed line shows the rough outline of the feature. Rodent disturbance had obscured part of the boundary.
Within the possible house, a deep basin-shaped feature along the west wall contained a small grit-tempered pottery sherd and two silicified sandstone flakes. Angelo Punctated and Madison Cord-Impressed pottery found within the house-like feature suggested a Late Woodland date, but few other artifacts were encountered as well. Some shell-tempered sherds were found at the top of the feature, but they might have come from a later, unrelated Oneota occupation. No postmolds were discovered in or around the feature, but if they were present, they could have been destroyed by a later occupation at the site or by plowing. A similar basin--possibly a winter house--related to the Late Woodland Effigy Mound culture was excavated in Vernon County in 1996. Ocean Jasper, a marketing term for a spherulitic orbicular jasper, a variety which contains coloured orbs or spherical inclusions or zones.
"This new rock has been found along the northwest coast of Madagascar after years of unsuccessful searching. The deposit formed as a rhyolite flow but has been completely silicified. The rhyolitic eyes or orbs come in an astonishing array of colors and color combinations. The background can be white, pink, green, red, or yellow. Botryoidal formations as well as white and deep green druzy are also common. The deposit has been discovered at the edge of the ocean. It can only be seen and collected at low tide. The area has no road so the material must be transported to civilization by boat." (The Lapidary Journal)
The existence of chalcedony deposits in the area was first written about in Alfred Lacroix's Minéralogie de Madagascar published in 1922. However orbicular material is not specifically mentioned. Dr. Klaus Thalheim has documented one of the earliest known examples of Ocean Jasper, a slab from Kabamby. It belonged to Richard Baldauf, an early 20th century German collector.
In 1977 a photo of Kabamby Ocean Jasper was included in Grund's Encyclopédie des Minéraux (Encyclopedia of Minerals), sparking interest in the stone. Ocean Jasper was rediscovered at the turn of the millennium by Paul Obeniche. Like many others, he first saw it in Grund's encyclopedia. Paul launched a series of excursions to locate it. Ocean Jasper was found again in October of 1999, on the shoreline outside the village of Marovato. The original Kabamby material was found nearby later.
Ocean Jasper was introduced to the general public at the Tucson gem show in January of 2000. It was named there by Paul Obeniche and Eugene Mueller. They called it Ocean Jasper because it resembles the waves and ripples of water and the mine was first discovered along the shoreline, originally accessible only at low tide.

Turritella Gemstone Jewelry - an Intro on Turritella
Turritella jewelry gemstone is a fossil formed over 50 million years ago. Over time, the entire mass of fossils was silicified, forming the brown fossiliferous agate ( also known as chalcedony) that we know today as Turitella agate. The range of colors in Turritella comes in shades of gray, tan, white, and brown, with dark brown or black snail shell inclusions. Turritella makes beautiful jewelry that is quite attractive and appealing. There are many spiritual benefits of wearing Turritella gemstone jewelry. In addition, many people believe it has the ability to cure heart-related diseases and many other diseases.

Is Mookaite The Right Choice for You?
The unique stone is a variety of silicified porcelain containing cryptocrystalline silica and traces of radiolarite. However, the best Mookaite stones belong to the chalcedonic variety. Mookaite gemstones have been cherished by humanity for years because of their vivid tones and earthy hints. They are primarily found in Western Australia, especially in the Kennedy Ranges and regions surrounding Gascoyne.

Is Mookaite The Right Choice for You?
Mookaite, commonly known as Mookaite Jasper, is a highly vibrational and powerful healing stone from a single place in the world—the Kennedy Ranges of Western Australia. Therefore, the stone is sometimes called an Australian Jasper from Mooka Creek, where it was discovered and derived its name. The term “Mooka Creek” got its name from the aboriginal word “mooka,” which means “running water.” The earthy tones and cheerful play of hues make Mookaite a stone of “Mother Earth” with excellent body, mind, and soul healing benefits. Jewelry lovers and gemstone enthusiasts worldwide can access Mookaite jewelry in a range of captive colors such as Red, Purple, yellow, or Brown. Mookaite with monochromatic themes are the most adorned ones, while the rainbow shades also look pretty. The unique stone is a variety of silicified porcelain containing cryptocrystalline silica and traces of radiolarite.

Though archaeologists analyze individual artifacts, they want to understand how they relate to other artifacts, from the scale of an excavation unit or feature up to the entire site and even the wider region. A group of related artifacts is called an assemblage. The artifacts might be from the same site, or part of a site, or made from the same material, such as lithics or ceramics. These lithic artifacts made of silicified sandstone all came from the same unit during investigations at a site in west-central Wisconsin. The top left is a projectile point tip and midsection that seems to have been beveled from resharpening. It could date to the Archaic tradition. The top center is a drill. The top right and whole bottom row are Madison Triangular points, which likely date to the Late Woodland tradition. They were part of the lithic assemblage, which also included debitage (waste flakes and tiny chunks or shatter from flintknapping), microdebitage (smaller flakes and shatter, typically less than ¼ inch), modified flakes, and cores in the same unit and other units at the site. Taken together, the artifacts in the lithic assemblage suggest people at the site were making stone tools from the early stages of production, as shown by cores, flakes, and modified flakes, to finished implements, indicated by flakes and microdebitage from fine work to finish the edges of tools.
