Okay I get why silent Hill 2 is acclaimed now
#watched the remake and bruh#for most of the game i was like yeah this is good but what does any of this mean#and yhen the last hour and a half happened and its like oh. okay got it this is fantastic#very thought provoking#no wonder so many psychological infoe horror games try to follow in its footsteps#but they fail to understand the nuance and subtly of silent hill 2#not that the game is completely subtle but relies a lot on interpretation#i started watching video essays immediately and i just keep getting more and more impressed with the story#like okay... i get the hype

Storys of a big kid who was silent and dangerous.#Who chould disapear into the shadows. But also sometimes would give them candy.#There were storys told about them from shops people too… they were suspected of shoplifting but no one chould ever prove it.#Cobald wasent necessarily a poverty kid but lived close enough to hear the rummors. He never went hungary but he still dreamed of a better#life. As he grew up he tried to follow in the footsteps of sunny and make a name for himself.#He taught himself how to be good with computers and started experimenting with making his own.#He would steal from shops around the city and even who he doesent have as many mussels or physical skills as sunny#cobald is a slippery lil weasel#Around the time when he starts a life of crime he finally meets sunny face to face.#He has so much respect for sunny and sees her as this golden idol.#Sunny sees this lil twink kid whos way too exited about commiting crimes and finds his demeanor adorable.#Who let his scrawny deranged kid onto the streets? Well its mine now.#Fast forward and cobald runs an operation. Hes a hacker and a tech guru.#He has many “grunts” who work for him and his underground operation.#Everyone thinks he is the ring leader of this operation he runs but really sunny is the only thing thats keeping this thing#from falling apart.

there's something about walking around in a forest that's been mostly burnt down tbh
#misc.txt#went hiking today in an area of forest that went through a really bad fire a couple years ago#and it was in a canyon so for most of it the wind was coming through like. super hard#except for. this one section where ig the cliffs blocked most of the wind#and it was just#dead fucking silent#no birds even#like you couldn't hear anything except your own footsteps and stripped bark rattling against the dead trees#v pretty in a certain kind of way but. man#you brush your hand against any of the trees and it comes away covered in charcoal. the only green thing left is grass and moss#it sucks too bc it wasn't even a natural fire somebody was fucking around with fireworks where they shouldn't have been :(
